La Tempestad #65- 10/25/13: Dazed and Confused? No Worries, I Got The Scoop!
Ahoy, Tempestad Maties! Are you dazed and confused? Feel you have been missing something, as if you just walked into the middle of a "Lost" episode? Have no fear, Mads your recapper is here, and will make some sense of what you saw ;) Missing lost scenes are in Purple.
After we left DamDelicious talking to Bea, we see Fully on the phone. He is talking to someone we don't see.
Becky, Jose, DamFine and Marina are all at the hospital so very happy that Bea is now awake, reacting, but still not able to speak or move. Jose congrats the happy couple on the coming bebe, and DamFine lets it be known he wants to buy a house for all of them to live in. Awwww. Becky and Jose laugh. Jose would sooo enjoy that.
Fully is planning a takeover of the Organization ,aka, the mob. He wants back info on the Perv and Pester is only too happy to oblige.
Herny gets a call, it's Mac, wanting to set up a meeting in RLayDee for the other Dons. Leave it to Herny, he'll take care of it. Off he goes.
Lolo gives Candy and orchid, and he talks to her about kids. Does she want any someday? Candy is like, um yeah, sure! They are both a bit shy on the subject, but Lolo wants them too.
Laz comes back to the Naval Academy his leave is over and the guys are so happy to see him, they want to partay this evening. Laz really doesn't wanna go, but they talk him into it.
Claudio meets with Mercy and she fills him in on her bidness troubles, losing money,those stocks tanking, and she knows Perv has alot to do with that. Claudio gives her his support in anything she needs. She reaches over and toussles his hair. What a cute couple!
The crew is meeting at DamDetermined's. They are going on the open water in the dead of night to peruse the waters, to look for trafficking activity to help out the Commandante. They are his eyes and ears and Marina is not to know. Agreed? Aye, Aye, Captain!
Mac has a meeting with Perv. He called him and Mac almost had a heart attack. Anyhoo, Perv wants to know all the goings on with Herny and the other Dons, he has noone to trust but Mac now, Blass being in jail, and he wants the whereabouts of Hada and his bebe. Mac don't know nothin' bout that! Just she took off with the bebe and went back to her hometown.
Meeting of the Dons, ya know, those mafiosi types, about strategy and how Fully feels he ought to be the head of the Dons. The other Dons look at him like he's crazy! Herny was Perv's right hand man! Well, Fully has got news for them. Herny hated Perv cause Perv killed Herny's parents! Herny is having an inner cow. He thinks Mac betrayed him.
Later, Herny has a meeting with Mac and holds a gun to his head, yelling he betrayed him. Mac is sweating so much that wig is gonna fall off. Herny relents and tells him this is the last time for Mac to be saying anything about Herny, the next time Mac will be dead, Bwahahaha! Herny even smooths Mac's hair and kisses his forehead!
Laz is out with the guys from school in bar, and some girls are there too. They get their drunk on. Girl keeps plying Laz with more drink. Finally he's had enough, wants to go home. He isn't interested in her. She tells the guys she'll take him back. She does.
Mercy agrees with Mags finally, to move out. Mags has found a place in the hood she likes. They are there, and what a coinkydink, that April, that therapist that works for Mercy, is the new roommate. Mercy of course really likes the place now and Mags moves in. April and Mercy share a smirk!
Laz is back at the barracks with the slimy chippy, and she tries to seduce him, nothing doing. He passes out, she undressing him to his skivvies (underwear), her in her bra and panties and they go to sleep, only to be awakened by the Commandante of the Naval Academy! The Commandante is pithed Laz would dare to bring a girl to his rooms, he's expelled and not to come back. Laz couldn't even explain, he broke the rules you see, so your out y punto!
There is skulking outside of Fully's house. We'll get back to that in a tick.
Fully talks to the head Dons alone. He reiterates that he should be the head of the Mob. Point is, rememba Perv's wife???? That wife is Fully's daughter, and since now there is a grandson in play, Fully should be the head by all rights. The Dons think.
Small scene of the crew at the bar and they are talking about Olinto running for Mayor of RLayDee when Fully walks by. They don't see Fully, he is having a cow. He goes to confront Olinto in his office and tells him no way Olinto! Neva happen! After Fully goes, Olinto says the ballot box will speak! Later, Olinto goes to a cafe, sees Dam and Claudio and joins them. They sing, that is Olinto and Claudio, cute scene, with coffee being served high up from a huge pot. I saw that once in "Corazon Salvaje 2009". They encourage Olinto.
Pester goes to Herny's witching about how she still hasn't gotten DamEsMio to herself, Ursully is also there, having slimed on Herny previously, when Herny goes off, chases Pester, screams that Ursully and Pester are at fault, Pester gets away, and Herny is so pithed he bangs his head against the wall, literally! He bangs his head so hard in fact, there is blood on his head. Ursully finally stops him, calls for Marcelino, and gets him to bring the car around, she is taking him to the hospital. Ursully gets him to the hospital, Doc Suspenders (Thanks Mauricio!) I know his name is Doc San Miguel, but I like the Suspenders name better. Anyhoo, Ursully has a consult with him about Herny's, ummm, condition. Doc suspects Herny is bipolar, and needs more help than he can give him. He needs to see a pyscologist. He gives Ursully some tranqs to give Herny to keep him calm in the meantime. Later, Ursully tries to get him to take them. Herny don't want no pills or a head doc. Ursully is frustrated.
Nereo is the one that is breaking and skulking around Fully's place. He gets in, looks thru all the drawers and takes something, I don't see what it is. Delfina heard a noise, goes in and Nereo knocks her out from behind with his flashlight. Nereo is blithering to an unconscience Delfina when Ursully comes in yelling for her Tia. She finds Delfina on the floor and Nereo has scrammed.
The crew and DamSecretAgentMan, are on the Tempestad trolling the dark and calm waters looking for those traffickers. They see the traffickers herding the girls on the shore. The crew and DamHaveGunWillTravel are armed to the teeth, and a gunfight ensues when Lara and Valdivia notice the boat. Back and forth with gunshots, DamLucasMcCain (Thanks EJ) even fires two guns at once! Lara and Valdivia chicken out, take off and DamJusitified and crew rescue those girls. DamJustified leads the girls through the woods, they are very scared,and he and his crew calm the girls. DamJustified calls Agente Guerreo and tells him about the rescued girls. The Agente comes out, thanks DamJustified for the rescue and tells DamJustified he will be taking the girls back to their homes, and the Commandante is very pleased.
Herny is at home listening to some type of classical music, I've heard it before, but don't know what it is, he's drinking water. Later he says Marina is gonna lose that bebe tonight!
Jose and Marina are on their way home from the hospital when they are hit by a truck that came out of nowhere. They are both injured. Marina and Jose are okay, but Marina is in pain and Jose is injured about the head, but he pulls that cellphone out and calls for help.
Fully comes home and finds out what happened to Delfina. He is pithed and wonders who in the hell would be breaking into his home! The nerve!
As they wheel Marina into the emergency room, Jose is by her side, Becky freaks out about another bad thing happening to the family. Jose comforts her.
Herny gets the call from his henchie that the deed is done and that truck is hidden. Herny hangs up, sits down and cries like a bebe.
Mercy, in Mexico City, gets a call from Jose telling her about Marina's accident. Mags overhears Mercy's concern. Mercy explains to Mags that a friend of hers' daughter was in an accident and she's concerned. Mags wondering why? No reason, just a good friend. Mercy is going to RLayDee. Mercy reminds Mags it isn't good to listen to other people's conversations. Mercy explains about the bebe being in danger. Mags still doesn't get it, but goes.
Lara, Valdivia, Herny and Fully are meeting at Herny's about the botched operation. Fully really thinks DamI'llGetYouYet, dream on there Fully, is behind it and Dam will pay. Herny says he's already paying.
DamVeryWorried, arrives at the hospital. Becky and Jose are there and explain what happened. Dam isn't gonna wait and goes back toward the ER. Two interns try to stop him and tell him to let Doc Suspenders do his work. DamHe'sDetermined, shoves them out of the way and goes back anyways. Dam makes it back there, takes Marina's hand, she's okay, but they both want to know about the bebe. Will the bebe be okay? Yes, thanks to Jose and his quick thinking and getting medical help very quickly, Marina and bebe are just fine, no injury to the bebe. DamDaddy and Marina are very happy!
Ursully is at Herny's and she liplocks him and goes to the kitchen, gets something to drink and slips him a pill that Doc Suspenders gave her for him. He takes the glass and says it tastes funny, but no matter, he drinks it all down. Herny wants to know if Ursully got to visit with Bea and find out about Marina and the bebe. Nopis! But here comes Pester to deliver the news that Marina didn't lose that bebe. Herny is going into the pool and goes, while Pester wonders what Ursully is doing with that loco dude. Ursully kind of brushes that off, takes the glass, washes it and thinks about controlling Herny.
In a previous scene, Mac and Perv had a meet, where Perv is determined to get back at Mercy through her daughters and Mac will take care of that. Perv wants Mercy to suffer.
Mags has run out of shampoo and is going out to get some. April wants to go with, she'll only take a minute to change, but Mags tells her she'll be just fine, no problems and goes.
Mags is on the street and runs into Mac. He'd like a word. She wants to know how he knew where she lived! Smart girl. He wants coffee with her, she doesn't, she doesn't like him. She wants to go, but Mac talks her into going to have coffee he wants to tell her the real story about when she was a kid. They are having coffee, and Mac tells Mags that he works for Perv, that Mercy also worked for Perv and that Mercy sold Mags as a bebe. Mags doesn't beleive it. No way. She beleives in Mercy. Mac tells her the only thing Mercy only thinks about herself and being rich. Mags is so mad, she throws a napkin at Mac and leaves, as he laughs. Mags goes, sees a kiosk that sells alcohol and buys a bottle of tequila. Mags goes home and April is there. She asks if Mags is okay. She's fine, she goes to her room, takes out that bottle of tequila and puts it to her lips.
Herny tried to call Mac but there is no answer.
Mercy has come to RLayDee to see Marina. Marina gives her the update bout her and the bebe. Mercy is happy. Marina tells Mercy she doesn't think this was an accident it was caused by that truck. Mercy thinks to herself it's gotta be Herny. DamPithed comes in and overhears. Mercy goes and Dam says whoever caused it will pay.
Lolo and the guys are at the Parrot Bar drinking and talking about rescuing those girls. Candy overhears and says they are her heros and hugs Lolo. A round of drinks for them on the house. The crew encourages Lolo to tell Candy what he really feels and push him towards her. He stammers, she listens, gist is he asks her to be his novia! What does she say? Yes, of course, one huge beso! Awwww!!!!
Laz has made it home and confesses to his Tio the Padre why he is home and what happened. Poor Laz actually thinks he cheated on Lucia. Padre advises him not to lie to Lucia, tell her the truth. Laz is sorry and wants forgiveness.
Does she take a drink? We'll know in a tic.
DamJustified meets the Commandante in that well hidden graffiti van and tells him about the accident with Jose and Marina. The Commandante will look into it and DamRightOn tells the Commandante he is sure that Herny is behind it.
Mercy and Marina are talking again about the joys of Motherhood. Marina and Mercy are both happy the bebe will be fine. Mercy asks if Marina eva wants to find her bio Mama. Marina says no, wants nothing to do with that woman. Mercy is clearly upset and here comes BSC Herny, Mercy goes. Herny has come for a Bea visit. Don't let him in, for the Love of Dios! After Mercy goes she goes to the vehicle where Jose is and laments about Marina. Big ole hug from Jose.
*The Following Scene is not for the faint of heart. In order to get through it I had to have a shot of Tequila, jus' sayin*
Herny goes into to see Bea with Marina, who goes to do something and Herny makes sure noone can listen and basically lets Bea have it in a cruel way. He mocks her for not being able to speak or move, messes with her oxygen mask, can't wait for her to die so Marina will be MIO and about Marina's not so accident, accident. Bea moans a bit. Bea thinks what a monster Herny truly is. He even takes the statue of Christ from the side of her bed, and holding it, waves it in front of Bea and says Save Her, Save Her. May Herny rot in hell. He has done his damage and goes. Later, he goes out to where Marina is and he tells her that Bea is on her way out the door, Earth, take your pick, she has given up. Becky comes running out and gives him the stink eye and doesn't agree.
Mercy comes to see Herny at his home, and wants to know how much he wants to keep his mouth shut about her being Marina and Mags' Mama? Herny is shocked she would think he would try to extort her or blackmail her. She wants to know how much he wants? Nada, he hasn't told Marina cause he doesn't want to hurt Marina. He wants Mercy to trust him, don't do it Mercy, and that he trust Mercy. She goes and as she leaves he is thinking of a way to use this against her.
Commandante, Agent Guerreo and DamJustified go looking for the truck that hit the white SUV and find it in a field. Of course there are no papers in it, as proof of ownership, and the Commandante says that they will run the VIN number to see who it belongs to.
Fully is having a meeting with that girl who "seduced" Laz. Of course he set that up! Fully pays her off, doesn't want her near Laz, job well done and all that. It was her pleasure and as a matter of fact she liked Laz. Fully tells her to keep her yap shut!
What a surprise! Instead of taking that drink, Mags goes to see Valentin, what a shock! He listens to what happened with Mac and feels that Mags should go talk to Mercy. He wants her to trust in Mercy, why would she lie about working for the Perv and selling her. She did go look for her. So there is leaning together, slow lingering looks and a wonderful soft, tentative kiss, which Valentin breaks off. Both are in wonderment! Valentin though, has to tell Mags this was a huge mistake, against ethical standards, he's her sponser and her therapist and he can't have a relationship with her and treat her too. He begs her forgiveness, she says no worries, and stomps off. He is so effected by that kiss he can barely move. Later, Mags goes to her place and cleans, yes, that's right, cleans and thinks about that kiss with Valentin. She was effected too, and damns the bad luck. She stops cleaning and goes out.
Laz comes to SHUTUPROSY'S and boy is Lucia happy to see him. He gives them a song and dance about leaving the Naval Academy cause he couldn't be without Lucia and the bebe, SHUTUPROSY smells fish, and Padre rolls his eyes.
Mags has come to see Mercy, but she isn't there. Alicia is on the phone and Mags says she will wait for Mercy in her office and Alicia goes. Mags starts looking thru her desk and comes upon that paper with Marina and Herny on the front page. Mags is surprised she has a twin sister, and why did Mercy keep this from her. There will be answers.
Fully sees Laz and Laz tells him he left the Naval Academy, as if Fully didn't know, and Laz swears he'll pay Fully back. Fully tells him no worries. Fully wants Laz to work for him. Laz turns him down. Fully is gonna find some way for Laz to work for him, Fully is damn sure, speaking of which here comes Dam.
Mercy has come home from RLayDee and greets Marina who is sitting in a chair. Is it Marina. Surprise! Not Marina but Mags. Isn't it eerie how much they look like each other. Mercy is floored. Mags wants answers about why Mercy never told her she had a twin sister, and why Marina was adopted out to a family and Mags had to grow up on the streets. Cara de impactada de Mercy!
Dam goes to Fully and tells him to stay away from Laz. Do not approach, don't offer him a job, get away and stay away, Yeah right! Fully turns that around and says he never wants Laz to work for DamIHateYourA**, so we have a stand off! DamIHateYouBack informs Fully that his crew is like his family, he loves them all and Laz is one of them. He won't have Fully ruining Laz's life y punto! What does Fully say to that? Largate y punto! DamIWantToPunchYourLightsOut tells Fully he just wanted to clear the air so to speak and he largates.
Now it's back to the other standoff. This was a very emotional scene. Mercy is distraught that Mags found out this way. The paper that is. Mercy swears she didn't want to hide this from Mags, but she was always so angry and Mercy just couldn't tell her in that condition. Mags hates the way Mercy lies. She worked for Perv and lied about it. Mercy is floored! Not only that but the only thing Mercy is concerned about is herself and being rich, nothing else. She got rid of both her daughters. She sold Mags after all. Mercy is fit to be tied. She denies eva working for the Perv and that Perv did steal her as a bebe. Mags has no idea the hell that Mercy endured all these years being without her daughters and especially Mags, she didn't know where she was and by a miracle she found her. She loves her so. Mercy's motivation has always been to have her daughters with her, it has driven her all these hellish years. Mags thinks Mercy is lying, Mercy doesn't know what hell is. Mags lived it! Mags tells her that Mac told her all about the bebe selling. Mercy insists that Mac lies. He works for the Perv and he'll say anything, in other words he is a lying liar that lies. Mercy begs Mags to look into her eyes, filled with tears, and see that she is telling the truth. Mags really wants to beleive her, she looks confused. Mercy wants Mags to trust her, but Mags just can't. Mags does hug Mercy, but doesn't trust Mercy and runs off, Mercy chasing her, and Mercy sits on stairs and cries her eyes out.
Nosy SHUTUPROSY has gone to the Naval Academy to find out what happened with Laz leaving the Naval Academy and meets with the Commandant. He informs her why Laz left, he was expelled, cause of his "actions" with that er, girl and that's it, he's done. SHUTUPROSY tries to say Laz has the highest morals but the Commandante doesn't agree. Laz broke the rules. SHUTUPROSY is pithed.
DamI'mGonnaBeAPapa and Marina walk around town and go to a "Baby's Are Us" and look at bebe things and wonder if the bebe will be a girl. They are just happy they are having the bebe. Their love can withstand anything. Besos!
Dam has a meet with Laz and tells him to stay away from Fully, doesn't want Laz to work for Fully, and what about that money Laz got from Fully? No worries. Laz didn't accept it. Laz will be working for Dam.
DamI'mAProudPapa is happily cooing and talking to bebe Michel. About how he and Marina and the new bebe will be all comfy cozy as a familia, well not that, but you know, anyhoo, Pester comes in and doesn't want her son to be a part of that "bastardo's" life. DamI'mSoSickOfHer, tells her to shut it, he's sick of her crap, well not that, but his son will be with him. She says she'll accuse him of cheating, go right ahead he says. As a matter of fact, I'll have that other marriage of yours investigated. She claims the amnesia again. He doesn't care. Pester so isn't happy. She thinks maybe Fully will help her out.
Marina gives Bea something to drink and is very happy with Dam she tells her. Bea thanks Dios for DamPerfect and also prays that Herny's machinations don't work against Marina and DamPerfect. Marina tells her their love is strong and can overcome everything!
Dam and Jose have a bit of a meet about his divorce proceedings. He is sick of Pester's blackmail and wants something done. He wants custody of his son, he would be better off with Dam. Jose will see what he can do and will serve Pester with the divorce papers.
Marcelino is waiting for Herny at the door, he has a visitor this time it's Zully, she has come for a bit of a visit, and lots of besos.
Dam comes to see Marina and they do some cooing of their own, about the divorce, being parents. Marina is worried about seperating Pester from her son. DamDetermined tells Marina that little Michel will be better off with them. Marina gives in, their love will weather any tempest, besos. Becky comes and interrupts the little love meet. They laugh and Becky has got a book for Jose, he won't like it, it's an inside joke, but she is giving it to him anyways, and goes.
Jose goes to Pester's and serves her the divorce papers. He advises her to seek counsel. She calls him estupido, she doesn't need any counsel and tells him to Largate, as she shoves the door in his face. Oh, snap, Pester has been served!
Ursully has come to Fully's to pay a visit. He has a favor to ask her. He wants to know all about Herny's mis planes, movements, etc, etc. Is she willing to do it? Ursully thinks about having Fully and Herny in her domain so to speak. Oh, yeah she'll do it! There are bennies, Fully tells her and pulls out a necklace he had intended to give Pester on her wedding day, but didn't. He puts it on for her too, no other touching, thank goodness. It is a beautiful necklace and Ursully is so in like Flynn. Pester has come and Ursully shoves the box the necklace came in under a chair. Pester wants to know what the heck is going on here! End of epi! Thanks for Y'all being patient until I could get this up. Now it's on to spiced pumpkin coffee, a danish and I'm putting my feet up.

shallowgal: Was that the most bizarre and poorly shot fake gunfight EVER seen on TV? With his double handed shooting, William Levy looked like he was trying out for a 60's 'Rifleman' re-run. Good grief.
At the risk of repeating myself endlessly, repeating myself endlessly, etc., Mercedes' manipulations and evasions are going to bite her in the a$$. Now Magdalena doesn't trust her and Macario is partly to blame, but Mercedes' evasions/untruths about Marina as Mags' twin sister are undermining a suspicious Magdalena's trust. When Marina and Magdalena meet, it will not be happytime for Mercedes.
Fortunately, the way UNI is combining episodes, we won't have to watch Mercy suffer for long.
NO SPOILERS HERE. Just speculation...
Presumably, Mercedes will be put in terrible peril by Ernesto and her daughters will come together, realize that they love her and come to accept her after all.
Hopefully there will be the long awaited DamMarina boda. I could be happy seeing a little love for Lolo and Candy as well.
There. I can't stand it. When there is no story on the screen, I will make up my own.

It will probably be in bullet form. With this much material it is impossible to get every single thing, so as Paquita over on MPV says, Good Night Moon!

Oh I'm sure we will have Mercedes in the hospital, Mejia cliche #28. That will bring Mer,Mar,Mag together as one happy family. It's really stupid that Mercedes keeps this up knowing that Macario & Hernán know.
Looking forward to Mar & Mag meeting. Most of the time twin scenes are so obvious & this is Mejia. Hope Monica directs it.

Madelaine: Speaking for myself, I was totally disheartened by the episode or should I say episodes. Comprehending the rushed and chopped dialog and events left me totally and completely bewildered. I appreciate your appropriate and aptly named title!

I've often thought about the time and effort it must take for all recappers to bring us these detailed, brilliant, and often hilarious recaps. I don't know how you all do it without missing a beat, especially now when they're merging episodes. You're all truly amazing, and muchas gracias a todos!

Oh my goodness, THREE episodes? I actually watched two online and was really patting myself on the back for it. Now I will have to watch another or just the end of the aired episode I guess. Uni, what are you doing to us?
I agree that Mercy is totally setting herself up for an unhappy reveal. She is playing with fire with both Mag and Mar going in and out of her house. It's a miracle Alicia hasn't blown it somehow, like calling Marina "Magdalena" or vice versa.

I bet WL will be happy to be out of his relationship with Mejia.
The problem was that his family, probably from the US, came to visit him at the studio & were not allowed in. WL walked off the set. I guess they patched things up to some extent.

I am sending a big hug and beso to all our wonderful recappers who so generously devote their time and sanity to trying to recap multiple episodes that are crammed willy nilly (no offense to Sweet William) into one night. Didn't someone (Melinama (??) once post a comment about the care and feeding of recappers who so unselfishly provide the recaps ?
I appreciate having a place to come each day to relax a bit, to smile or laugh a little, and to escape the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune (I.e. Reality) ,and I realize that someone out there in cyberspace has spent his or her time to give me a translation of a story in a language that I do not speak. Thank you! Madelaine for your recap of what we have seen and what we missed. I really appreciated the extra work. You are a devoted trooper. Three episodes into one episode is ridiculous. I'm glad that you took the time to recap what was missing because it didn't make sense. In one scene we see a drunken Laz with a girl and then he is on the street talking to DamDelicious. I knew that I had missed a lot.

Levy has been quoted as saying that he is done with TNs (for a while). They are very time consuming and exhausting to make and he says he will now be focusing on films. I understand he has a couple of films in the queue for release in 2014.

Thanks, Mad, for putting in so much time to give us this recap of the episode we saw and all the bits and pieces that we did not see.
As I was contemplating how these villains will be punished, I thought about how different the novelas handle villains compared to American action shows and movies. In our action shows, the hero/heroes are the ones who take down the villains. in the telenovelas, the villains are dispatched by each other or karma (God???) Some end up in prison, some are executed, some are disfigured, some kill themselves, etc. So what anvils await our villains??? It is silly to think that Ursilly thinks that she has both Fully and Herny in her control and that she has begun to sedate Herny. it should be interesting to see what happens with this storyline , and I am also interested in The Big Bad showing up in R-Lady.

Even if you are mad at your star, you have to know the fans watch for him as well as the secondary characters. And the edits are poor (sorry I'm ranting)! Madelaine: The amount of time it must have taken to craft this amazing and detailed threecap summary seems daunting. The care and attention you gave this is evident in every marvelous line. Your wry wit was obvious at every turn. Favorite was: "Point is, rememba Perv's wife???? That wife is Fully's daughter, and since now there is a grandson in play, Fully should be the head by all rights". Also laughed at "Mac is sweating so much that wig is gonna fall off". Simply great.

While I understand Mercedes was hesitant to tell Mags everything at once, she should have told Mags the truth once she confronted her. This TN has been butchered beyond belief. elna june, Karen and others, William Levy and the fantastic cast who are all doing an amazing job deserved so much better. This had a fantastic cast, good writers (a few beanie moments here and there, but aren't there always??) and all the other necessary ingredients to make this a hit. We've been deprived of so many great scenes -what a tremendous waste.

ITA with everyone that Mercedes' half truths and evasions are just going to get her into deeper doodoo with her daughters. I'm not sure what she's thinking. She should have at least come 100% clean with Mags long ago, since she's been trying to build trust with her.

I don't think WL is as popular in Mex because he is Cuban, but so is Cesar Evora, he has just been around for longer. And they do complain about WL's diction. Sounds perfect to me.

Variopinta- No. They didn't cut it in Mexico. It's the full Mexico episodes that are online.
This did not do as well ratings wise in Mexico as they have hoped/expected, but it actually wasn't a bomb. Uni jumped the gun, because this is doing much better in the US than it did/is doing in Mexico. It's nowhere near being considered one of the worst tns, so I really don't get the butcher treatment Uni is giving it.

I thought it was funny that Fully said "whoever" attacked Delfina was an inepto (something to that effect) because she is still alive! What a jerk, but it was funny.
Mercedes has warned Marina about Hernan. Damian has told her that he is dangerous. Even if she has doubts, she should still stick around when he is with her poor invalid mother, just in case! What an idiot!
Mercedes went to the pueblo specifically to see Marina because of her accident. When she left her and returned home, Marina was wearing a neck brace and taking it easy. So why does she walk into her own house and call Magdalena "Marina?" That wasn't even remotely believable! There's no way she would've mistaken Mags for Mar under those circumstances. Or did Marina buy a faster helicopter than Mercy's and beat her home?

You turn out a multitude of recaps every week, you seem to be watching every program mentioned both on Univision and a number of American tv shows as well....you are everywhere and all the time, lady! Sure you don't have a handy twin somewhere?

You turn out a multitude of recaps every week, you seem to be watching every program mentioned both on Univision and a number of American tv shows as well....you are everywhere and all the time, lady! Sure you don't have a handy twin somewhere?
Anyway, blessings and thanks for watching three different episodes and weaving them into a coherent whole. That takes time, energy and effort. (Maybe you're triplets!)

I'm loving Hernán more and more. I'm not sure which was my favorite scene, him banging his head or him taunting Beatriz with the Christ action figure.
The orchestral music he was playing was from Bizet's Carmen Overture, had it played out just a little further you'd have certainly recognized the Toreador Song.
I think I remember Univision doing something similar with LldA by cutting and piecing together episodes, but I don't think that they ever combined more than two episodes. It was a real pain in the butt.

I remember watching a telenovela in which Cesar E. was a villain , and in one scene, he was whacking his forehead against a staircase rail. The scene made it onto The Soup. It might have been "MUndo de Fieras."
It does appear that Herny has started down a slippery slope into madness, and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I am anticipating a really wild anvil ending for Herny. Live crazy; die crazy.

O-kay. First of all, Madeline, thank you for the masterpiece and your precious time. I am loving the rainbow recaps. Your effort and wit are appreciated.

Verónica Jaspeada was a genuine treat as the ditzy Ximena in Un Gancho Al Corazón so I plan to watch at least the first couple of episodes to get another glimpse of her. There are some other great actors including Eric del Castillo, and Sergio Sendel in this as well.

Thank you so very much for all the very lovely, kind words. It is really sad that they are rushing this TN. The ratings aren't bad for this one and EJ is right, this is WL's last TN for awhile. He does have a couple movies coming out in the States next year I think. We will still be able to see him. But then again, he may just pop up on Telemundo, ya never know : )
I think all three Mercy, Mags and Marina will suffer before they are united as Mother and daughters. After seeing Mags' reaction and the way Marina feels about her bio Mama, I can just imagine her reaction when she finds out.
Herny had such a meltdown! Kudos to Ivan Sanchez for really bringing it. I am surprised Ursully didn't run for the hills. Instead she stayed and even slipped him a pill. I'd like to know why she is helping him, and this was before Fully asked her to spy on Herny.
That cut scene with Valentin and Mags was very sweet. It's sad they cut it. I liked the fact that Valentin broke it off and mentioned it not being ethical. Amazing!
Mac is walking a fine line. Mac is still helping Perv and yet he doesn't tell Perv where Pester and his son are. Like that isn't going to bite him in the butt? Can't wait for tonight to see what happens.

So sorry to miss the conversation yesterday but I was busy trying to cram three events into one day (couldn't manage to cram the fourth), all topped off by a big wind storm that blew through last night. Whew! I kept pulling my phone out trying to read the MadsMasterpiece, but no, it was not to be.

I'm pithed at the lack of the Jose and Becky romance developments, too many close-ups of the dying Bea (To Bea or not to Bea--un classico and I'm voting for the Not To Bea), Olinto running for Mayor, PegLegPervy getting back into the game, Herny getting bloody by his own hand, Mercedes trying to juggle two princesas and the substitute madre, not enough of Valentin, and Mar & DamForSureGotLiveSwimmers together again for who knows how many episodes before it rains on their parade again.
Interesting to see Ursully taking the lead now. Herny is doomed--Women Always Do It Better (by It I mean everything--evil or good).
Glad to see Robles living up to his name.

A few more comments--
Accents--Mexican audiences tolerate other Central American and South American accents in "their" tns. Remember Rene Stickler and his hard ys and lls on AB? And Juan Soler tries hard, but every once in a while I hear his Argentine ys and lls. Having spent my childhood in Uruguay, I'm very sensitive to the River Plate accent and listen for it.
More often than not, they write the actor's origins into the script--Lisardo in CME & AV, Cristian de la Fuente in AB.
So, it must be something about WL himself. I've enjoyed all his telenovelas and agree that he has grown with all of them (except TdA, the whole thing which was Lower than the Lowest of Patio Expectations and doesn't count). So, any other ideas why we're getting this treatment?
Maybe Uni is trying to tell Televisa to shorten it's runs so they can fit more titles into a year. After all, Uni has to sell a lot of advertising space on runs of 160+ episodes, there 100 could do quite nicely. We, the audience can only take so much of local Latin grocery stores, abogados, chiropractors, debt consolidators, insurance (although I could watch La Mala Suerte clips all day long and not get tired of them), dental care, used car sales, etc. being shown at every break for every hour during prime time.
Back to the story--
Mercy has not revealed the whole story, perhaps because she's afraid Mags in a fit of spite will go find Mar and confront her. Mercy wants to keep it under her control. Good Luck Mercy.
Shallowgal--I was definitely LOL during the gun fight at the 'OK Beach.' Nobody even got knicked with all that firepower. But loved DamStraightShooter his action hero stance.

About watching all the shows, when I was in High School, I would do homework, while listening to the radio with headphones and watch TV at the same time. Drove my Mama crazy! So she asked me questions about the homework, which I answered correctly and what was going on on the TV, also answered correctly. I've never understood it myself. I just seem to "get" everything.

Anita- Welcome back! That's an interesting theory about Uni wanting the tns to be shorter to be able to fit more in. They are trying to fit tns from both Televisa's afternoon slots (e.g. CI, Refugio, Corona) and their primetime slots into our primetime, so they seem to have a glut of tns. Maybe they need to just get better about which ones they choose to show in primetime.
Wow Mads...I know there are people like that. Wish I were one! I need total quiet (or white noise) to concentrate, and even then my mind wanders. Heck! if I don't take notes during the Sunday sermon, I can't even tell you what the lesson was about.

Carlos..carpe mañana...which the Ipad changed to,"carpet mana"....could be an interpretation of "active patience". I think of it as doing something while waiting. ..but that's just my view. Hub claims that I am becoming increasingly impatient, so I will try telling him that I am just trying to seize tomorrow.

I remember reading some ridiculous article leading up to DWTS where a journalist described William Levy as "an unknown Mexican TV actor". I said Hah! then and I say Double Hah! now. We who had been watching WL on telenovelas knew he was for from "unknown" and would soon be very well known to the U.S. audience. Uni's hatchet job will only make us hungry for more. The sillies.

I loved highlander :the TV series even though I was never a fan of the movies. I think that it had a lot to do with the handsome English actor Adrian Paul and the fact that half the episodes each season were shot in France and the other half in Canada. The European and Canadian actors were terrific. I also loved the regulars..Joe, Methos, Richie, and Amanda who were all very strong actors with humor and wit. In addition , the concept of living 100, 200, '300 or more years was fascinating , and traveling through time to different locales was thrilling. The writers were excellent. The two Highlander movies that Adrian filmed after the TV show ended didn't do too well ,probably because the writers were not the same. I read that Ryan Reynolds (Que???) was offered the role but declined. we'll see if the movie actually happens.

Also, on the accents, I know that you always notice them, you have such a good ear. I just cannot figure out who started the hate campaign against Levy in Mexico. It is downright weird.
As to the Uni/Televisa ad theory, I vote 'yea' for the best speculation I have heard so far. Personally I think 100 episodes is a great length for a TN story arc; there is enough time to fully develop the protagonists and the supporting characters (who are, for me, more than half the fun) and it is short enough to keep it from getting flabby with filler in the middle.
Karen, are you out there? What is your expert take on the 100 v. 160 epi run from a professional perspective?
Mads: Like you, Sylvia was my mentor as well. Thanks Cap'n.
On the subject of recappers: none of us would recap if we did not want to and if we did not get something meaningful out of the process. As a recapper, I might groan and moan about stupid acting, or casting decisions, or plot lines but you don't see me abandoning the genre. Nope, I love the TNs AND I love the folks I recap with.
I appreciate the Patio tolerating my rants and raves as I let off steam when Uni or Televisa fail to tell a good STORY. That is my motivation for watching and I can get quite techy with STORY is sacrificed on the alter of expediency or money.
NM: Love your good news/bad news notification. You know I always agonize about making sense out of what I see on the screen so that I can put it into words. You have told me 50 times to let it go. Let your mind be Jello, EJ.
I just cannot take your excellent advice. I am like a dog with a bone. Acckk!
JudyB: Hi, dear. Can you imagine how serious sports fans (like you) would react if the Networks began randomly cutting plays in order to fit the sports action into a 2 hour time slot? Living with one sports fanatic and having birthed a couple of others, I can tell you that sports fans want to see each and every play if they are watching a game.
And whilst some thoughtful editing might not go amiss, random chopping of plays in the middle of the action would likely cause serial riots in the homes of millions of loyal viewers.
vita: You might find that you can enjoy the telenovela genre even with Wm Levy. We will miss your participation if you leave us.

For my fellow Highlander fans, I did a little more research about the remake by Summit entertainment. JustinLin was brought in. Late 2009 to direct, but he left the project in 2011,to direct "Fast and furious6." then, Juan Carlos fresnadillo ("the Intruder") was hired but left in nov. 2011 due to creative differences. Twilight writer Melissa Rosenberg's name also came up. Art Marcum and Matt Holloway wrote the screenplay. I read a lot of negative comments about a remake, and I also read some comments supporting Adrian Paul or a Scottish actor as the lead. I got lost in some old TV Highlander episodes on YouTube. Adrian was so great in that role, but the movies he starred in had awful scripts.

Not sure, but methinks SPOILER ALERT for the FB page mentioned above. A ton'o'pix and a lot of them look like the finale of La Tempestad. Sorry If I;m wrong, just want people to proceed with caution. I don't mind, because any picture of William Levy is cause for celebration. But I just wanted to give a heads up.
Sorry this is so late, but I wish to tender my sincere thanks to all the recappers here. Condensing three episodes into one is a labor of skill as well as love.
I cannot believe the hatchet job done to this TN, when it was a nice diversion. And the tedium of some other TNs is left to drag on and on. Arrgh!
