Corazon Indomable #130, 11/11/13: Ren & Stimpy Rule the World!...uhm, the Ranch!; Who Shot JA?

You keep your dream, and I'll keep the money! – Ren & Stimpy
Ren and Stimpy, aka Miguel and Tav, discuss taking over the world, uhm… $imona’s ranch. Dimwitted Stimpy agrees to put the management of $imona’s lands in Ren’s eager greedy hands. Tav will do the legal paper work. Happy-happy, joy-joy! (Ren & Stimpy)

Miguel knocks back a double shot of tequila, and convinces Tav that it’s best that no one else know just how crazy Simona is. But then he turns around and tries once again to convince Tav to lock her up, since she could be a danger to both of their sons. Tav refuses.

At Rancho Abuelo, MC and Juanita ream Perico out about impregnating Solita, especially given that Solita is still recovering from pneumonia and is in delicate health. Perico doesn’t seem to understand how this could be (uhm, shall we explain it with dolls or stick figures?). MC insists that they need to be married by the Church, immediately. Juanita is a little less understanding and calls him a criminal! After the dumb shock wears off, Perico seems to be happy about the news, but for some stupid reason he doesn’t mention that he and Solita are already married by law (por el civil). He does say that he loves Solita. He has no family and was raised like an animal in the mountains (that explains a lot!). MC is cool with him, as long as he doesn’t leave his child in the same wild animal conditions. And he needs a plan for supporting his woman and his two kids. He assures them that this wasn’t Solita’s fault and they love each other. Juanita’s ready to tear him a new one, but MC thinks what’s done is done, and now they need to get the Padre to marry them. Then MC scolds Juanita for her part in not preventing the horny teenagers from having sex, because that’s the priority when there are two toddlers to look after. Perico runs upstairs to see Solita, and MC waxes romantic about leaving the kids alone to enjoy their sweet romance (well, the damage IS already done).

Meanwhile, Solita’s long lost mama, Nilda, scours the Tamaulipas countryside asking people if they know of a deaf-mute girl who was abandoned years ago. She even has her own theme song and her scenes go on for too long. She has no luck finding clues about her daughter and is frustrated. She says what the audience is thinking by saying she deserves it for abandoning her child. She cries and prays to God to help her.

Natasha and her Nana make an appearance. Natasha has received a pretty penny for the sale of her painting of the Padre and the People. Nana is convinced Natasha is going to do her usual with the money—pay for the bills of her toy boys. Nope, Natasha has a better idea. She wants to give the money to Padre, so that he can share it with the poor people of the area. Nana blesses the day they came to this Podunk town.

Your wealth of ignorance astounds me. – Ren & Stimpy
Upstairs, Perico covers Solita with hugs and kisses and eventually gets her to understand that they’re having a baby.  Then he talks mainly to himself about whether or not to tell everyone that they are already married. (Yes! Tell them! You eediot!)  Then he suddenly remembers something. Solita is a deaf-mute (you don’t say?). And although her other child is “healthy”, their child could be born a deaf-mute!

He leaves Solita totally perplexed by his sudden change in attitude, and runs to MC to ask if his child could turn out deaf-mute. “Solita and I can’t have a child like that!” MC says she has the same concern, but asks him to calm down. It’s just a possibility, but no one can assure the baby won’t turn out deaf-mute. “Well, then I don’t want it! I’d prefer that it died!”

MC can’t believe her ears, and threatens to slap him upside his head. “Children should be loved above all things!” She reminds him that he should have thought of the potential consequences before he dipped his parakeet feather into Solita’s inkwell. “Our children reflect our virtues and our defects!” She goes on to tell him that ignorance causes people to make great mistakes, but they have to learn. Perico seems to be having trouble with the learning part. MC thinks that if Solita had the benefit of the doctors in the big city, and not the ignoramuses of the countryside, she would have learned to speak. But at least Solita had her (MC’s) mother and grandpa, after her own mother abandoned her.

Speaking of…said bad mother has spotted Santa in town and calls to her. Santa eventually recognizes her and remembers her name. She’s apparently the only person who remembers her. Then she remembers that Nilda left long ago, and had been expecting a child. “Do you have more children?” Nilda admits sadly that she has no other children and falls silent when Santa asks where her first child is.

Nidla then admits that she abandoned her child by the side of the road in the countryside, where she thought someone would find her, because she was mad with desperation. It was a big mistake. She hasn’t been able to live in peace since. She mentions that the baby girl was deaf-mute. Santa is impactada.

Migreedy pays a visit to Ester to tell her how sick Simona is—she could even become paralyzed. Ester is shocked and saddened, but then blames MC for it all. (Really?!) She gripes about JackAss’s obsession with MC. But she’s worried that he’s capable to doing MC harm out of his bitterness. Miggy tells her those are just crazy thoughts, and she shouldn’t worry her pretty little head over it. In any case, JA has obviously done well for himself. He never knew JA was so clever. Ester’s mind won’t be at ease about JA doing something crazy until she knows MC is very, very far away. They are interrupted by a loud knock on the door. Ester is horrified when a group of men bring in a bloody and unconscious JA and put him on the cream couch (that’s what really horrified me).

The Padre leads Sunday school for the local children under the trees, getting them to understand that God is the Creator and Master of all the trees, the sky, the earth, the animals, and everything that is around them. He’s quite the sweet storyteller grandpa with them. Perico runs up interrupting the lesson.

Nilda continues her tale to Santa and tells her that no one has been able to give her any info or clues about her daughter. She wants to now give her daughter everything that she couldn’t before. She didn’t even give her daughter a name before she abandoned her. All she remembers is that she left her baby near a large ranch. No one she has asked has any info. She asks Santa if she happens to know a deaf-mute girl…

Santa dodges the question and says she has to go home. Nilda tells her she’s staying in the town hotel and asks that Santa tell her anything she may find out. She leaves Nilda and her theme song, looking mighty guilty and worried.

Padre dismisses the kiddies and sends them off with some food to eat. Perico asks the Padre to marry him and Solita under God’s law. He admits to the baby on the way and Padre gives Perico the same lecture MC and Juanita did—Solita is in delicate health; how could he do this; how’s he going to maintain a sick wife and kids; etc. For good measure the Padre also calls him a jackass and an idiot. Yep, that about covers it, Padre. He threatens to whack him across the face (he would have to jump up three feet to accomplish this, but I would be highly satisfied if he did). Padre eventually agrees to marry the kids and goes with Perico.

Miguel runs to the big house to call for a doctor for JA. Tav looks on dumbfounded. He asks Miguel 20 questions about how it happened, but Miggy doesn’t know. Meanwhile, JA continues to bleed out in Ester’s arms (on her cream couch, dammit).

In Solita’s bedroom, MC and Juanita try fruitlessly to get Solita to drink or eat something, but she refuses due to how nauseous it makes her. MC worries that with Solita’s already poor health, her refusal/inability to eat could be dangerous. She then leaves Juanita to the challenge of getting her to eat.

As the doctor sees JA, Tav tries to comfort Ester, while Miguel skulks in the background. Tav wonders who could have shot JA. Ester thinks it must have something to do with that bad woman, MC. (Oh, please!) Tav tells her not to be ridiculous. Plus, JackAss has been making plenty of enemies by behaving like an aggressive, well, jackass.  Ester says she isn’t surprised something bad happened to him, because she’s had a premonition about it. The last few days he’s been particularly bad-tempered.  Fighting even with his own shadow. The doctor comes out of the bedroom and gives a dramatic pause about JA’s condition. (Please tn Gods, let him die already!)

MC and Padre discuss the Solita-Perico situation in Solita’s room as they watch her sleep. They decide it is neither of the horny teens’ fault. They just need to get them married as soon as possible, so that the baby on the way can be a good Christian.

Oh, that's just my brain. It's always falling out.- Ren & Stimpy
Darn it! The bullet that went through JA went cleanly through his shoulder and out his back without hitting any vital organs. He lost a lot of blood, but he’ll live. He’ll be out of commission for a while, but being young and healthy, he’ll recover quickly. The doctor warns that he might run a fever, but the meds he prescribed will help. Ester runs in to see JA, and Tav asks if the doctor will report the shooting to the authorities. He assures them that he has to. It’s the law! Tav looks worried. (Could he be thinking that MC had something to do with it after all?) Miguel looks smug and sneaky…the usual.

The doctor puts Tav’s one brain cell at ease when he tells them the person who shot JA was a guy he ticked off who lives on Rancho Narvaez/Abuelo. “Fortunately, it wasn’t her.” The doctor is confused and Miguel covers for Tav, saying that they thought it was over some offence to Ester. When the doc leaves, somehow Tav and Miguel have decided that the argument between the two men must have been over MC. (Huh?) And if so, it’s the second time JA has been shot because of MC.

They all think I'm crazy, but I know better. It is not I who am crazy. It is I who am MAD!! -Ren & Stimpy
Back at the big house, Simona’s getting her crazy on. She goes to her old childhood room, reminiscing about being a little girl with her mother. Then she sees Baby Tav and freaks. “That child!? That child, again?!” She yells at him and then stares at him like he’s an alien.

The Padre and MC discuss the paperwork (likely baptism papers) Solita and Perico will need to get married in the Church. MC wants it settled as soon as possible. The Padre asks after Lupita, and MC admits that she can’t even sleep at night thinking about the Tav situation. The Padre suggests that she see a doctor to get over this obsession. MC says she can’t let it go—it’s larger than herself. They are interrupted by Santa, who looks just as worried and guilty as she did when she left Nilda. They ask her what’s wrong. She looks like she’s seen a ghost. “I have seen a ghost. A ghost from the past.”

Love the ren and stimpy references! Disappointed JA isn't paralyzed at least. And I guess Simona really isn't faking now. I'm waiting for MC to be held responsible for global warming, poverty in Africa and the downfall of Lindsay Lohan.

Miguel was so happy with JAs shooting that you would think he ordered it. It would get rid of the one person who knows the truth abt multiple treacheries.

Love the title, Vivi. Now on to read your recap.

Excellent recap, Vivi.

This line had me laughing so hard my stomach started hurting, seriously: "She reminds him that he should have thought of the potential consequences before he dipped his parakeet feather into Solita’s inkwell."

And very apt references to Ren & Stimpy.

Nilda's theme song was ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. And judging by how fast she found the people who have her daughter, perhaps she should go into the P.I. business - she did a better job than the guy hired by Don Ale, remember?

Glad you guys liked the Ren & Stimpy. It came to me pretty early on in the episode. I used to love R&S in high school. Tav is just as simple minded as Stimpy.

Vivi- you are freaking brilliant! LOVED the recap and I'm sure it's a billion times better than the actual episode. Someday when I grow up I want to be as good a recapper as you snd all the other peeps on this blog, maybe if I pray enough my wish will come true!

LOL Eli! You are already a brilliant recapper.

Vivi, I loved your "Darn! The bullet went through." Those were my sentiments exactly. Thanks for the great recap.

Jarifa

Eli, I concur with Vivi in her comment that you are a brilliant recapper too.

As has been pointed out already, Vivi, this is brilliant and inspired.

My favorites:

"Ester is horrified when a group of men bring in a bloody and unconscious JA and put him on the cream couch (that’s what really horrified me)."

then:

"Meanwhile, JA continue to bleed out in Ester’s arms (on her cream couch, dammit)."

You had me crackin' up.

Well, the tragedy that is Solita continues. Thank goodness she's only a secondary character.

I was wondering earlier today what the reaction here would have been if Eusebio had continued plying her with sweets and kindness and finally have gotten her to willingly comply rather than violently raping her as he did.

Eli, add me to Vivi and Latina, you too are a brilliant recapper.

Carlos

Thanks for a brilliant recap, Vivi. The Ren and Stimpy references were hilarious.

Juanita has a thankless job, doesn't she? At least she seems good tempered about all she has to bear.

I thought our one-cell Tav was challenged, but Perico takes the cake. At least we had an explanation: he "was raised like an animal in the mountains (that explains a lot!)"

I was cheering the padre on when he was reaming out Perico. I'm surprised MC could stay calm while "teaching" him all children needed acceptance.

So, we have to give Natasha a little credit for some good intentions toward the poor people.

You said what I was yelling at the TV--No, don't let JA bleed all over the couch! I too wanted him to go ahead and die from his wounds.

If the crib weren't already occupied by baby Octavito, I feel Simona might have climbed on in.

Funny, I was yelling the opposite: That's right, JackAss, bleed all over her white couch - serves her right!

Count me among the "Vivi rocks!" gang. I couldn't even make it through some of the scenes last night. The wonders of remote control. So brava for the perseverance of watching all the way through and giving us this masterpiece.

As I've already gone on record saying how appalling the Solita story line is, let me just say, IT JUST KEEPS GETTING WORSE. And anyone else want to slap MC up the side of the head for being all high and mighty, but rather worthless when he comes to actually helping this poor girl? Line forms at the right..

So if Tav hands over the money management to bro', should we take bets on how fast he blows that wad too?

I say when we get to the end of this TN, we all break out in a round of "happy, happy, joy, joy!"

Daisynjay

LOL Anon- I guess it would serve Ester right if JA bled all over her couch.

La Paloma- I always thought Simona wasn't faking the madness. Miguel was right about one thing- she could be a danger to the babies. She looked ready to throw baby Tav right out of HER room.

Carlos- How wonderful that I could make you laugh.

I have meetings most of today, so I won't be able to check in much until later. Happy Tuesday, everyone.

Daisynjay, I sure agree with you about the Solita subplot. Maricruz and the rest treat her worse than a child: with no respect as if she doesn't have a brain in her head. Let us hope the appearance of her long lost mother makes a positive change for her.

Jarifa

Wasn't Esther the one who shot JA the first time?

5 CATS

Ren and Stimpy - LOL, great idea, Vivi, such an accurate description of the two.
30 episodes left.....

Who shot JA? I laughed at that one, but I'm not sure you meant that to be a take off on who shot JR. You're too young to know about that.

I never watched Ren and Stimpy, so unfortunately that reference didn't work for me. I'm too old for that one. But I did love the picture of them.

I wonder if the writers are trying to get us to think that the baby is legitimate because they were married already. And knowing these writers now as we do, they want us to think that she became pregnant on their wedding night. We know they have time lapse issues already.

What's the point of the JA shooting story line? He's living, after all. Maybe Simona did it.

Cathyx- I loved watching Dallas when I was a kid with my parents. They let me stay up late.:)

Back to work.

Well, Perico may be a bumpkin, but he must be resourceful. Padre Julián and Maricruz are in a bit of a tizzy to gather documents so that Perico and Solita can be married in a religious ceremony, and yet somehow Perico managed to arrange and carry out a civil ceremony rather easily.

Carlos

cathyx, if you will watch the episode #129, that was aired in Mexico, you will find a strange conversation between JA and Nazario in avance. But they cut it in the episode. May be it was the answer who and why.
For now it seems like Romero didn't know how to enlarge novela, so he put al this unnecessary storylines with no beginning and no end.
Alegria

Vivi -- Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Great recap. I always look forward to your comments.

Thanks, Vivi, for watching this hot mess so that I did not have to. I did surf in and out as I was surfing between DWTS and The Voice. I saw Simiana with her crazy eyes picking up that Pobrecito bebe out of his crib and Jackass being carried in like a sack of potatoes (rotten potatoes) and tossed (HA) onto Ester's white sofa. I am with the group who felt that it was quite poetically just that he bled on her upholstery. I also saw the meeting between Solita's missing madre and Santa. Does Santa only have one style of dress in several pastel colors ? is that her uniform ? I feel sorry for Juanita . Mari seems to think that Juanita is now in charge of babysitting randy Solita and her parakeet. By the way, are we sure Perico really married Solita in a civil ceremony , or is that just his story ?

I think that the monkey shot JackAss, and I am hoping that he has another bullet for Mighouly. Mig hasn't killed anyone, so he probably will not die. However, perhaps the vulture will suffer a fate worse than death...getting a job . P.s. Do we have any proof that he remembers that he has a child ?

Vivi---Thank you. I don't know the cartoon characters but I did like them. What a great idea, Miguel and Tav as cartoon characters---well at least Tav, Miguel has been pretty steady about gaining control of the ranch. I'm not sure that he could be put in the cartoon category but
you still caught my attention and made me laugh with that one.
I don't know how or why Perico became a parakeet but your feather and inkwell line was hilarious.
JA full of blood on Ester's cream colored couch had me laughing as well.

Eli---Don't under rate yourself, we love your recaps.

Carvivlie---You are so, so funny, I'm still laughing---Maricruz is responsible for global warming, poverty in Africa and the downfall of Lindsay Lohan

Finally, Natrasha makes a turn for the better. The question is---
will she stay that way.

Good one Daisynjay, "Vivi Rocks" but count me out of your happy, happy, joy, joy celebration.

Cathyx---What's the point of the JA shooting? Stay tuned and you'll
find out. Did he try to take something that Natrasha didn't want to give him? I'll stay tuned as well.

I loved the scene [my favorite one last night] of the padre and the children. That was sweet.

What is $imona loco going to do with little Miguelito? Must see TV
the gringo

Gringo, Perito is the spanish word for parakeet.

For those not familiar with Ren and Stimpy, Ren is a sarcastic Chihuahua with delusions of grandeur, a huge ego, and is a bit/a lot crazy. Stimpy is Ren’s best friend who is a well-meaning and kind, but stupid, cat who often makes huge goof ups. Migreedy and Tav.

I often think of Perico (parakeet) as Perrito (little dog). I think both monikers fit him.

What the heck is Perico's real name, anyway? I hope whatever papers he used to get married por el civil, and whatever confirmation/baptism papers he has for the Church wedding, reveal his real name.

Where or where is the monkey?

Do we know if Solita has a birth certificate? Were they able to communicate to her what she was agreeing to when sh got married civilly? Will the padre be able to? I know, details, details.

The whole civil marriage thing seems shady to me too. But since Perico has spoken about it when he's by himself, I assume it really did happen. Not sure how since it doesn't seem that Solita has any access to any legal papers for herself. Can she even write? Can Perico write? I don't think the writers care about these details.

Susanlynn,

"Mig hasn't killed anyone..."

In fact, if you recall, he shot Eusebio as he was attempting to rape Lucia. There is a difference of opinions here as to whether that constitutes a punishable crime or was a justifiable act of family protection. Since then, Miguel has been such a jerk, I say... go ahead and kill him.

Carlos

Solita has a birth certificate. MC mentioned it with the others documents in the box, that brought Maria to MC, when she was ill in the house of don Ale.
Alegria

Alegria, so if Maricruz has a copy of Solita's birth certificate then it would have Nilda's name on it.

I so don't approve of Solita and Perico getting married. If he thinks that her baby would be better off dead than being like Solita then he certainly doesn't have enough respect for her to be her husband.

Carlos

Carlos...how soon I forget. Yes, yes, Mig shot Ewww when he was assaulting Lucrazia. How did that slip my mind ? Maybe because my hatred for these people grows every day. Do you think that Mig will be killed off ?

Anonymous...the monkey is hiding out because he shot JA , and he does not want to end up in monkey jail...which I guess would be the zoo.

"If he thinks that her baby would be better off dead than being like Solita then he certainly doesn't have enough respect for her to be her husband."

Amen, Carlos! I couldn't even come up with a good side comment when he said that, I was so astounded.

I don't think Solita's birth certificate would be an original one(with Nilda's name on it). More than likely MC's mother and abuelo "registered" her after they found her. MC's mother seemed to be an expert at filing birth certificates!

Hi! I wanted to tell u that I like ur posts. They're very entertaining and at object. Keep up the good work, ur pretty good at it !! Nice job ;)
