La Tempestad Capitulo 78 , Wed 11/13/13 - What’s good for Fulgencio is always bad for someone else.

Ahoy amigos y amigas, thank you for hanging in there with us amid all the crazy cuts and random editing. All the scenes that were edited out of tonight's episode are in BLUE. The scenes are mostly in order. Thank you for your patience.

The Phonymoon - Last night we left Marina in a very uncomfortable situation. To wit, Hernan is ready to “claim” his wife. He has forced her to the bed and she yells over and over for him to let her go. “Suelteme!!”

Hernan,  in a convenient moment of self-awareness, realizes what he’s doing and sobs his apologies. Marina tells him he’s the worst of men, grabs her shirt and baby, and leaves him weeping in a pathetic heap on the floor. Whew! That was close.

The Clinic of R-LayDee - Claudio and Fully have a face-off. Fully’s not happy to see this Claudio guy hanging around Mercy. Claudio announces he “has heard of” Fulgencio from Mercy. Mercy herself told Claudio that Fulgencio broke her heart by killing CapitanMichelFabre. Glare. Glare.

Fully accuses Claudio of loving Mercy. Claudio pauses and gulps, he won’t deny the truth. He loves Mercy in a quiet and soft way (una forma callada y suave). Fully can’t help but laugh and, frankly, neither can I. Who comes up with these lines? Claudio’s on a roll, Mercy has always counted on his support but he’s never tried to intervene in her decisions. It’s called Respect, it’s part of Real Love. Can Fully say the same thing? (Hell, I’m not sure Fully even understands what Claudio is saying.) Claudio wins this round as Fully blows away in the winds of defeat and confusion. (Egads, why haven't we seen these two together in scenes before now? They are stupendous.)

Nighttime, in a truck, parked outside Casa Salazar - Fully confabs with Nefarious Nereo. Nereo recites the plan - Get into the house, find the woman, make her open the safe, take the gold coins, squeeze her neck, and beat feet with the coins. If Nereo manages to pull this off he gets to keep the coins.  “Dang, this is going to be easy,” thought bubbles Fully. “To each his own (Zapatero, a tus zapatos),” thought bubbles Nereo.

Sigh - Dam tells his little champion that these are times that try men’s souls, or something to that effect. He cuddles his cute baby, watches him play in his crib, and indulges in some sexy flashbacks.

Casa de Peste - Fully blasts in demanding to know what’s up with the SOS. “Mom knows I’m not preggers and I’m afraid she’ll dell Dam!” Fully is sick of being asked to help keep DamWinsAllTheTime in his life. It’s time for Pester to put her eye on the prize, namely Ernesto’s inheritance, then she can buy any man she wants!

Looking for love in all the wrong places - In typical abuser fashion Hernan gurgles to Marina there is no excuse for what he did. He was just looking for a little love, is that so wrong? He never had a mother’s love, boo hoo, and was hoping for just a smidge from Marina. For a moment Marina actually looks slightly sympathetic. But she’s got her baby in her arms and her priorities intact. The cheese stands alone.

Sweet scene with Becky and Jose which will likely be cut - They are concerned about Beatrice but Becky is happy they are on the same page for once. She jokes that hopefully all his pain meds haven’t made him forget they are now engaged. He looks confused, isn’t he engaged to the girl who works for Candy? “Que???” Psych! Just another Jose joke. They tease and kiss. Jose can’t believe he finally convinced that spitfire to marry him.

Trick or Treat! - Nereo dons his Ninja hood, enters the Salazar enclave and puts a gun to Delfina’s head. He wants the valuables, her jewels, whatever she can get her hands on. She goes to her bedroom safe and when Nereo turns his back to fill his bag with treats she tricks him by whacking him on the head with a bowl. He fires his gun in her general direction.

Meanwhile Fulgencio hangs around outside. He sees Laz and, when accused of loving Lucia, growls that Laz needs to respect both him and Lucia, the most honorable girl he’s ever met in his life. Laz spouts that she betrayed him with his own father and earns a slap in the face for his stupidity. Laz says he is ashamed to be the son of Fulgencio.

Another one bites the dust - Outside, Fulgencio hears the gunshot. “May she rest in peace,” he gleefully sighs, relieved. He runs into the patio to find Nereo making his getaway. “Bad news, I didn’t kill her, but I’m outta here with the goods” reports Nereo. Fully instructs Nereo to escape with the coins, but as Nereo leaves he hears Fully cock his gun. “Coward!” whispers Nereo. Then BANG! He gets a bullet through the throat, gurgles up some blood, and topples over.

Fully stands over Nereo, rolls his eyes, and sighs, “And now I have to be an actor too! Let the farce begin...Delfina!!!” He runs into the house, finds his shivering wife and calms her (all the while pointing his gun at her, lol!). He says it was Nereo, gosh he can’t believe the guy would betray him like this. When will he learn to listen to Delfina’s feminine intuition? He supposes he’d better call the police since he was forced to shoot the guy in self defense right in their own yard. ¡Qué lástima!

The Busy Clinic - Claudio has a surprise for Mercy. It’s Magdalena in her scrubs who wants to apologize for being so difficult when Mercy found her in the streets, yadda yadda. Lo sientos, Te amos and Te quiero muchos.

Teatro Salazar - Olinto and Toribio are all ears while Fully explains how Nereo tried to kill his wife. Fully had to shoot but of course it wasn’t his intention to kill the poor sap. Ursully runs in and asks Delfina what happened. But Fulgencio refuses to give up the stage. He indignantly proclaims that Olinto, as the neophyte Presidente, doesn’t know this of course, but the same Nereo tried to rape his niece. Yes!

A new day but an old story in R-LayDee - Laz tells Abi that he still loves Lucia. Abi advises him that Lu will never forgive and she’s ready to be sloppy seconds. Laz thinks Abi has shown she’s got a good heart and if he didn’t love Lucia he might have given her a roll. (Oh how romantic.) Abi showers him with warm kisses but the shower turns cold when Laz spies Lucia gazing at them, crying. Of course. Laz runs to her, the girls have a slap fest, Lu runs away, Laz runs after. Next!

Better than bug spray - Pester’s on a tear and visits Bea’s house to demand the return of her baby. Doña Rufi holds the bebe while Magdalena gives Pester the Oh No You Don’t, DamTrusting left ME in charge. Pester’s like a broken record. She says Mags is an opportunist just like her sister. The minute her sister’s back is turned (er, well, kidnapped would be more to the point, but juarever) Mags jumps in to try to steal Dam and his ready-made family. Mags gives The Pest a mighty slap. The Brat doesn’t stand a chance against Mags the streetfighter and after an efficient catfight the room is cleared of all pests. “Uf, how unpleasant,” sighs Rufi. Indeed.

Bad News - Fully’s lawyer informs him there will be no inheritance for his grandson because Ernesto's assets have been seized by the police. This news throws Fully for a loop, and he mutters that he needs Delfina’s fortune more than ever to solve his economic problems.

Dam makes more rounds than Doc Suspenders - Dam promises Bea he won’t rest until he returns Marina and their baby to Bea’s side.

Dam goes to Mercy’s room and vows he’ll find Marina and the baby. Later the Doc visits to tell her to rest. Mercy frets about Marina. Mercy thanks Claudio for always supporting her, he’s her great friend. Uh oh, here come bFulgencio's drums and horns. The man himself enters and says Claudio’s not telling the entire truth. He, Fully, is not the only one who has loved Mercedes all these years. Mercy rolls her eyes. (Oh yes she really does!)

Hernan’s Hideaway - Marina manages to sneak the keys and the gun. “Are you trying to escape?” asks the crazy one, “Ain’t gonna happen.”  She points the gun at him. He tells her to  go ahead and kill him. Nobody on The Patio believes Marina will actually do anything.

Pester goes to Delfina and gripes about getting bitch-slapped. All she wants is her son and her man back. Delfina advises Pester that lies aren’t the best way to get back into her son’s life. In fact, she’s decided to tell Dam the truth.

Pester cries and snorts to Delfina. Mami says it’s time to tell DamLiedTo the truth. Delfina will help her do the right thing. OK, crying and pity didn’t work, so Pester tries anger. Delfina NEVER cared for her, yada yada, we all know how this goes. Delfina says Pester is always breaking her heart, not fair, especially since just last night she nearly lost her life to that Nereo! ¿Qué?? Delfi tells her Nereo broke into the house and Fully had to shoot him. Hmmm...

At Fed Central - Robles goes over a map with Dam and his team. As soon as they figure out where Herny might be he’ll let Dam know. Dam plans to go to Hernan’s casa to look for clues.

Sounds like Exorcist music - Dam searches Hernan’s storeroom. He finds an agenda with names and dates that he saves for Robles. He finds a picture of young Hernan with Ernie in front of Herny’s Hideaway (San Juan del Monte). That must be where they are!

Salazar Smackdown, Round Two - Mercy wants Fully to leave, the doc agrees, and Mags tells Fully he’s outta there now. “And who’s gonna make me. You?” he challenges. Hell yes, she says, she’s ready to fight tooth and nail. He can leave or she’ll throw him out. Finally, Mercy tells him to "Vete" so off he goes, dejected.
b

Mercy is grateful for Magdalena’s protection, but she doesn’t want Mags to expose herself to danger. Mags says they are together now and she’ll do what it takes to keep them together. Mercy and Tio Claudio smile proudly.

La Guacamaya - Dam confabs with Lagarto and Oso about the hideaway. He whips out his laptop, he’s narrowed it down to two locations that Ernesto owned, dismisses the beach house, it must be in the jungle HERE. They jump into action.

Pester finds Fully and says she needs Ernie’s money, like NOW. Fully says she’ll have to be satisfied with the wanting (estar con las ganas) because the fortune no existe. The authorities have confiscated everything and nothing is left. Ursully joins them and notes the same will happen with Hernan’s wife Marina. Fully informs them the wedding was a trick to fool that idiot Hernan, there is no marriage. Fully gloats as Pester cries on daddy's shoulder that this will be her ruin.

Potty Break Over - Dam drives along the beach but his jeep dies. Crap! He sees a saddled horse standing nearby, a gift from God! More like a gift from the poor guy walking out of the dunes who is stuffing his johnson back into his pants.

Fully gets lucky - Ursully gives Fuglencio the proof that she found on La Tempestad, the proof that MichelFabre had against him. She says she doubts DamBusyWithOtherThings knows what he had. Fully gives a belly laugh at this fortunate turn of events.

WTF? - We can assume Marina wimped out of shooting Hernan, or maybe the gun was empty, because suddenly he is grabbing her suitcase and demanding they leave. At that moment DamTornado blasts through the door and lunges at Hernan. “Be careful, he’s got a gun!” shrieks Marina helpfully. Dam proceeds to beat the crap out of Hernan, break some furniture, and struggle with the gun. Marina continues to yell encouragement in front of the wildly waving gun. Dam beats Hernan’s head to a bloody pulp. Marina cries NO! The Patio cries YES!

Wait for it. Wait for it...Mi amor! DamVictorious hugs his wife and child. The Patio cries “Get the gun!!!”

At last!! - Mags gets a phone call. She smiles a sexy little smile. “Valentin, how’s it hanging?” He tells her it’s been hanging lonely. He says he’s been worried about her and her mother. He wants to see her. To talk. She says not a good time, lots of worries going on. They both hope it’s not too late. Cupid Becky recognizes the signs, someone named Valentin, eh? Mag says she’s not sure they’re meant to be. Tia can tell Mags feels something for this guy, and hopes she doesn’t dither around and end up losing her true love.

Please God make it stop - Laz chases Lu. Why? So they can fight some more, of course. “I love you.” “I don’t believe you”  A kiss tells the truth but it’s not enough for Lucia. However it’s more than enough for us. Next!!

Dam, is this really the best time? - Marina tells Dam she’s fine. But not for long. The Patio cries “We told you so!!” as Hernan rises with gun in hand, “Marina is mine”. Marina begs Herny not to shoot his own wife. Dam thinks this is the right time to further enrage Hernan by telling him that the marriage is a farce, it was all a trick. Hernan promptly baps DamBadTiming on the head. Twice. He points the gun. Dam puts himself in front of Marina...

We hear a big background [BOING]. Glare. Glare. Hernan is surprised when Robles comes through the door. DamFast grabs the gun! Hernan is face down on the floor and under arrest. He cackles maniacally as the feds carry him out the door. DamBloody and Marina embrace, (leaving a little blood on her forehead), saved at last by her hero! Dam tells a grateful Robles he’s got Hernan’s professional journal with names and numbers. Robles says at last they will crack the mafiosi. Hoy tengo ganas de ti...

Thank you Uni cutters - Laz yells at Abi. She loves him, wants a chance. Besos. NosyRosy sees and smirks. Laz walks away and the two beyotchs hook up for a confab. Abi tells NosyRosy all is going well. Fully sees Abi kiss ShutUpRosy on the cheek and figures out they are in cahoots. Fully approaches Nosy and demands an explanation. He won’t permit her nosiness, calls her a beyotch, says one day Laz will know the truth about her and will leave her forever! He declares war.

La Guacamaya - Team DamFab toasts his success, his return, and Hernan spending the rest of his miserable days in jail. Olinto toasts to no more bad people in the town. Candy reminds him of Fully, Lara and Valdivia. Oh well, for now they can party. Oso shows off his dancing props.

Casa de Beatrice - Marina and the baby are back! Bea manages to mumble that Hernan is a bad man. Marina gives her the 411 on his monstrosity and cruelty. No doubt he had a bad life thanks to ErnestoContreras. Marina says thanks to God and DamHeroic they are all together again.

Capital of VeraCruz - Robles literally throws the book at Hernan. Thanks to Hernan’s journal they have the names and numbers of all the bad guys. (Oh look at that shiner!) Hernan claims this means nothing because Robles promised to protect him if he snitched on Ernesto. (The Patio erupts in laughter.) Robles informs Hernan their deal was off the moment Hernan kidnapped Marina and endangered her child. He promises Hernan will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Casa de Peste- Pester and Ursula put their nasty little heads together to try to figure out how Pester can keep Dam from being happy with Marina. They have a couple of bad ideas and Pester hates them all.

Clínica, bedside of Mercedes - Marina checks in. The sisters sit by their mother while Claudio updates them on The Organization. Mercy asks if they arrested Fulgencio. Nope, unfortunately they don’t have the proof against Fulgencio. “What a pity, he should be behind bars like the others,” she sighs.

Said Fulgencio is burning said evidence. He thinks this should take care of him, as long as Hernan doesn’t betray him.

Clínica, bedside of Jose - Becky and Jose tell Dam and Marina that they are engaged. Big smiles all over while Marina teases Becky for saying she would NEVER get married. Doc joins them and releases Jose, just in time for the fiesta. What party? The party the town is throwing for Dam rescuing Marina of course. And because Hernan will never hurt anyone again.

Hernan sulks in his dirty cell. He paces and thought-bubbles that Fulgencio is the only person who can help him now.

Come into my parlor -  Fulgencio is, at this moment, inviting Robles into his office. He’s shocked Robles is alive, he thought he was dead. Robles says he’s there to talk to Fulgencio on the subject of Human Trafficking. Fulgencio laughs and says his reputation would preclude him from any association with such a business. That ain’t what Robles heard, there are lots of testimonies against him. "They’re jealous!" growls Fully, "want to stain my good name!" Fully says show him the proof. He is innocent!

Nighttime in R-Laydee - and the town is adorned with colored flags and rides. Normally I would make a joke about being able to put a fair up in one afternoon, but I saw it happen numerous times in Ensenada for the tourists, so I’ll just keep my trap shut.

Delfina ruins Fully’s night. Again. - Delfina asks Fully if he wants to go with her to the big fiesta. Por supuesto que no! Delfi says she’s going to go and share in the great happiness of Dam and Marina. Fully tells her to git and have a good time. He decides to spend the evening figuring out ways to get rid of Delfina. Yes, that will cheer him up!

I can’t hear you - Ursula and Pester run into Dam and Marina on the streets of R-LayDee. Ursula tells Marina she’s glad Marina made it home safe and sound. Marina thanks her. Pester opens her mouth to snipe and Dam immediately leads Marina away. So funny!

At the fiesta - Funny scene wih Olinta dancing on stage. Oso tries to teach him some steps. Ursula shakes her bootie. Olinto gyrates like a spaz. Everybody plays the games and eats Sabritas. Fireworks!

Delfina sees Dam and Marina and tells Dam she has something important to tell him. It’s not easy for her to say, it’s about her daughter. The music becomes so loud we cannot hear what’s said. Does Delfina tell him the truth about Pester?

Heh - Fully goes into his safe and finds Delfina’s new will. He gives it a glance and he is not happy. Everything is left to Pester’s kid. Dammit, he can’t let on he knows about the new will. He’s got get her to change her beneficiary.

Jolly Fulgencio waits for Delfina and greets her smarmily warmly the moment she gets home. But Delfina is blue. She tells Fully she just told Dam that Pester is not pregnant. Fully acts shocked! Shocked! She tells him not to be such a hypocrite, of course he knew. The tests came from his hospital. He denies it, he hates Fabre, and says he will investigate right now and get to the bottom of it!

DamBestSceneOfTheNight - Marina asks Dam if everything is OK. He tells Marina he’s better than ever. He spies Pester and asks if they can talk. He takes her hand and leads her away. She gloats at Marina. He takes her to the stage and calls everyone’s attention to thank them for throwing such a special party for Marina and him. He also has something important to propose to Pester. Pester is smug because she thinks Dam is going to dump Marina and stick with her. No really, she said that. He tells the crowd they all know he married Pester because she was expecting his child. He even abandoned the woman he loves to live with the pest. He wanted to protect his son. Then he found out Pester was expecting another child of his. His doubted this, but tonight his doubts have been clarified. He asks Pester, in front of the whole town, to tell him the truth, is she really expecting his child? “But of course, my love.” He asks her again. She gets a little suspicious and yells that she IS expecting his child and stop acting ridiculous! He says she gives him no other option. He embraces her, reaches under her shirt, pulls out the fake baby bump, and throws it onto the ground at the feet of the crowd. Caras impactadas of the whole town! And it looks like the crowd’s gonna get ugly. “Hypocrite! Liar! Imposter!”

Pester is pithed, vows DamJustified will regret this, and runs off with Ursula in pursuit.

Fully Frisky - Fully tells Delfina he wants to resume their relationship, si? She doesn’t believe he’s changed, says he was as rude as ever when she went to the fiesta. He smiles and says he wants to fix things, wants it be like when they were young, he loves her, in his way, in spite of everything. As they vowed, they are together until parted by...DEATH.

¿Tu qué haces aquí? - It’s Valentin! He arrives with a bouquet for Magdalena. He asks if she will let him into her life. He’s ready to accept her with all her problems and well as all her joys. Mags said he was the only person who woke her heart, but he hurt it too, when he left. Val says it was the worst mistake in his life. He asks her forgiveness and the opportunity make things right. Will a kiss make things right? The fireworks say it will.

In front of everyone - Dam tells Marina he knows it was hard to believe him when everyone accused him, but now she knows he never betrayed her and never lied to her. They kiss. Aplausos! Bravos!

And thus we end tonight's episode on a happy note. No avances, but we have plenty of time to deal with unpleasantness later. Like tomorrow night.

Big thanks to our commenters, Capitana Madelaine, and the rest of my crewmates Gloria, Mauricio, Elna June, and Novela Maven for making this such a fun telenovela to recap. Oh, and the DamFineAbs didn't hurt a bit either.

I bid you all adios, fair winds, and following seas.

Cap'n:

Best recap EVA! Marvelous! Loved every word.

Had to laugh at Fully's lurrvvve declaration to both Mercy and Delfina, too funny. I am still laughing at him praying in the chapel. I am glad Mercy told him to get lost and the eye roll too. Glad Delfina is around another day and glad she changed her will.

Nereo the putz should have known better. He should have gone long ago while the going was good.

Glad, glad, glad Herny is now in the hoosegow. I didn't think Marina would shoot him either. Mags yes, Marina no. I am DamGlad that Dam came to the rescue along with that marvelous Commandante!

So Pester is finally outted with her lies another Yay! Ursully and Pester could open an agency called "FixerUppers R Us" as in we will fix your reputation for a fee. Just a thought.

Glad Hawt Valentin is back! And those Becks and Jose scenes so marvelous. I had to laugh when Jose "forgot" about Becks, too funny. I hope Mags takes Becks' advice.

Cap'n" I am still laughing about the guy and his johnson and coming back to a broke down vehicle, lol.

Thanks so much Captain Sharkbait for all your marvelous recaps for this TN and all the hard work of looking for the missing scenes. You rock!

Gracias Mads! You are up late and so am I. Time to get some sleep and we can analyze the craziness tomorrow.

I like your idea about FixerUppers R Us. If those girls survive they will need a little pocket money.

Love, love, love Fulgencio! Well, not him, but Cesar playing him. He's really hamming it up and it's obvious he's enjoying the role. What? Nereo didn't take her out? No biggie, I'll just take HIM out and play the victim. What? She changed her will? Not a problem. I'll just pretend to "woo" her back until I can change that! He cracks me up!

A masterpiece for your last recap of this TN! I loved your description of the Mags and Pest fight, "after an efficient catfight the room is cleared of all pests" so funny! I love your descriptions which are too numerous to mention them all. An example, “Be careful, he’s got a gun!” shrieks Marina helpfully. I realize I am really part of the Patio because I was yelling the patio's comments.

Hmm. Claudio loves Mercedes quietly and softly. ? Is that like a sister? That's kind of how I see it. Darn, I wish they didn't cut that scene.

Fabulous job Capi!

I ended up watching the full capitulo 117 online, so I saw the full scene where Jose teases Becky, Mags confronts Fully, and Fully and Claudio face off. Any of these would have been preferable over the Laz-Lu stuff. But I did enjoy Fully b!tch slapping Laz. I cheered.

Uni actually cut a part of the attempted rape scene. It went longer and got more violent and it wasn't until Marina begged him not to hurt her that he came to himself and became horrified at what he nearly did. She should have shot he when she later had the chance.

Loved Fully this episode, and the public outing of Ester. You know a town fiesta is going to have some excitement when she's around.

Oh, and didn't Hernan look so sad wearing a plain white tshirt and blue jeans in jail? Like some of his crazy spark was gone, wearing those dull duds.

Got to love the recap!

Commandant goes to Flugencia's home and says he wants to talk about Flugencia's role in Human trafficing. The conversation never happens. Or, did I go to sleep during this epi?

Damian missed his chance when Marina and bebe were finally rescued. "So, how is Hernan looking to you now."

Sylvia: I laughed the moment I read the title. Stellar from start to finish. As always, was delighted, informed and appreciative of your ability to make an eventful episode(s) even more spectacular. Amazing LT finale..

"Phonymoon", "Jose can’t believe he finally convinced that spitfire to marry him", "But Fulgencio refuses to give up the stage" and "Jolly Fulgencio waits for Delfina and greets her smarmily warmly the moment she gets home" were just a few of my favorites.

"Fully blows away in the winds of defeat and confusion" - HA! A pox on you UNI for depriving us of seeing Rene and Cesar, two formidable actors go head to head! ITA Sylvia, we were robbed! I saw bits and pieces of these 2 damnfineactors in La Madrastra and they are amazing.

It was Cesar's night. He dominated every scene he was in - leering, lying, blustering, over reacting and overacting(in a wonderful way only he can). He is the master.

Back to the story.

Laz. Loser. Basta.

The commandante arrived in the nick of time! I'm sure we are not yet Hernanfree but can't see Fully helping him so not sure how he will get out (assume with 6 episodes being crammed into 2 that this will occur).

Loved how Dam unmasked Pester and relieved Delfina told Dam the truth and that Delfina was spared to live another day.

Nereo is gone - thank heavens.

Hoping for happy endings for Mags and the Hawt Valentin (ITA Madelaine), Claudio and Mercedes and a long and happy life for Delfina.

Madelaine, Emarie, Anon and Vivi, enjoyed your comments!

Sylvia, you, Madelaine, Gloria, Mauricio, Elna June, and Novela Maven brought this to life for us and did it in grand style. I would have been lost but for your providing all the missing information and cut scenes. This was a circumvented cruise as much of the lovely scenery was missed but what we were treated to was spectacular!

Diana

Glare. Glare. That is awesome!

Cynderella

Fabulous, witty recap, Cap'n Sylvia. So many great lines I could go on and on....but I do have to leave for work soon:)

My favorite is in reference to the Mags and Pester scene, "Better than bug spray." Mags certainly was the winner of that one, and I'd put my money on her when it comes to Fully as well.

"Please God, make it stop" with Laz and Lu. I was watching real time or I would have fast-forwarded.

Thanks for the "estar con las ganas." That's a new one for me.

Vivi -agree that Hernan looked sad and lost in jail. Ivan's acting is fantastic, although hard to watch when he's loco...which is most of the time.

Forgot to mention loved the unmasking of Pester. Laura Carmine looked absolutely despondent at the end of it, although enraged. Love Laura Carmine's acting, but feel that for Pester it's all downhill now.

Super recap of all the exciting action--that shown on screen and that left behind by the evil editors. Thanks, Cap'n Sylvia.

Fulgencio is always thinking, always coming up with plan B when plan A fails.

I really cracked up at DamSuperFine finding the horse in his moment of need, giving us a multi-wounded hero riding to the rescue of the damsel on a literal white horse!

The unmasking of Pester's fake belly was so sweet--loved seeing that.

Good morning all, and thank you , Sylvia, for another wonderful, witty double recap as we head rapidly to the finish. what a breakfast treat. I will miss these characters, our hardworking recappers, and loyal commenters. I hope that everyone will reconvene for the new novela starring Angelique and Sebastian.

Gee, Pester's reign of terror seems to have begun and ended in the town square in front of all the town folks . I wonder if her old frenemy Mayusedtobe was watching her downfall from above...or more likely below.

when DambeatenandBloodied and Herny were fighting! I kept telling Marina to pick up a lamp and help DamNeedssomeHelp out. Get a little proactive , Mar.

I agree that Nereo should have taken his new suits and his new look and gotten out of town. You can dress the guy up , but he is still the same dumb bunny.

La Paloma..ahh yes...our hero on the white horse. Classic.

Thanks for this glorious recap, Sylvia. So funny... it's not just anyone who can say,

"... stuffing his johnson back into his pants."

and make it sound innocently cute.

I woulda thought that Damián would be a skilled mechanic, but he opened the hood, gave the radiator a little pat and that was that. I wonder if he forgot to fill up with gas? Good thing a saddled horse was conveniently nearby.

The Patio cries,“Get the gun!!!”

Dare I say it?... Dam Dim o' Dam to leave Hernán on the floor with a gun within reach and turn his attention to cuddlin' with Marina. First things first. Good thing that Robles and the cavalry were close behind.

Carlos

Yes, Carlos, you can say it...Dam Dim O' Dam for turning his back on Herny and not picking up the Damgun. we all know that you love him in a quiet, soft way. We all knew that he would turn his back on the bad guy,,,classic novela, verdad? I agree that as captain of a boat you would think that Damhandy would have some skilz as in DamDoItYourself. However, as soon as DamnotimeForAAA looked up and saw that horse, I said "giddyap, cowboy."

P.s. I misspelled your name Carlos and Ipad helpfully suggested "Curls."

P.s. Sylvia, loved your funny view of the action. The part about the horseless horseman was especially ....poetic. I love you in a quiet, soft Claudio way. As opposed to Fully who evidently loves in a loud, hard way.

Good morning all, and thank you for your comments and insights. I always see things in the comments that make me think "No why didn't I think of that?" You folks always crack me up.

Cynder, glare glare, that was for you babe.

Emarie, Claudio's explanation to Fulgencio seemed so very odd to me. I wasn't quite sure how to translate suave...quiet? Smooth sounded even weirder. Juarever, it was Rene at his hammiest best. And Cesar looked on the verge of cracking up while trying to look angry.

Diana, Yes, it was Fulgencio's night last night. I was blessed. And thank you for taking this circumvented cruise with us. Your presence always improves my mood.

It was funny how both Fulgencio and Hernan basically said that as long as the other didn't screw them up, they were the only ones that might, respectively, be able to help the other. I suspect their relationship is not yet over.

Vivi, thank you for pointing out that Marina begged Hernan not to hurt her. Yes, I think that was the wake-up call for him. And great observation about Herny's prison duds. No wonder the poor little crazy was so sad, sniff.

Golaway, Fulgencio demanded proof of his involvement in the human trafficking, Robles was unable to provide it, so Fulgencio got on his soapbox about his long-suffering innocence. Diversion tactics. We saw no more.

Marta, I love how Mags never backs down. She is fearless, but not stupid fearless like Pester.

La Paloma, great observation about the hero on the white horse. The writers are throwing in as many cliches as possible at the end.

Susanlynn, Pester seems to have come full circle. Do you think her reign of terror is over? Gosh I hope so, but "she's baaaaaaack" comes to mind.

Carlos, I thought the same thing about DamUseless's jeep. I can only assume he ran out of gas. He's been DamPreoccupied of late. Can we chock up his DamDimness to that too? Change of topic, I loved using your "Next!" It packs so much into one word.

Susanlynn, one time my Android kept changing Carlos's name to churlish. It was very annoying.

Oh yes, excellent comparison of the Claudio love style as compared to the Fulgencio love style. "Normal" might be somewhere between those two. I'm still so pithed at Uni for cutting that scene. True, it added nothing to the plot progression, but it was just SO GOOD.

Susanlynn,

"curls"?

Heh... I wish...

Sylvia,

"churlish"?

Oops... busted...

Carlos

I was just bouncing along enjoying me my weekly Sylvia. Until I came to the last line.

Adios

Wahhhh!

Seriously. I read this last night and when I came to your goodbye, I was too upset to comment. If anything good can be said for Uni's chopshop, it is that it let us all reach the finish line together.

Thank you for being so generous and hilarious and incredibly smart -- all in one Damn package! There is no one with whom I'd rather share the Public Unpillowing of the Pest than you, my friend.

More later...

Hey, what are we going to do when this novela ends and we can no longer flex our collective creative talents inventing the DamAdjectives ? Do you think that we can carry the DamFun over to "Robo?" Let's try. !! I am not DamDone.

Cap'n Sylvia – Simply hilarious. Some of my favorites:

“Phonymoon”

“in a convenient moment of self-awareness”

“He loves Mercy in a quiet and soft way (una forma callada y suave). Fully can’t help but laugh and, frankly, neither can I.”

I loved the public de-pillowing of Pester. It was all that I had wished for. And DamGentleman gave her every chance to back down before he hiked up her dress and yanked out the pillow.

Loved the aftermath of the Mags-Pester fight as much as the fight itself, with Mags’ hair all mussed and Rufi uttering “Que barbaridad!” It was a great comic moment. Someone commented earlier that Meija should do a comedy. I so agree.

When I saw the white horse, at first I thought it was Eusebia reaching from the other world to guide Damian’s path, but the guy coming up the hill pulling up his pants killed that thought.

Fantastic Cap'n

Hernán HAS to escape, those terrariums are still standing.

My translator said "gentle" for suave in that stmt.

NM, you are so sweet! I can see your halo right now...held up by a couple of cute little horns. "Public Un-Pillowing of the Pest", oh man, that could have been the title, it's fantastic.

Niece, I kind of had that Eusebia thought myself. When the guy stumbled out of the dunes I literally laughed out loud. From the sublime to the ridiculous, it was just brilliant.

Vario, OMG those terrariums! With Hernan in jail will we even see them again?

"de-pillowing" of Pester, ja,ja,ja

Gentle works well. Thanks for that.

Cap'n Sylvia what a recap!!! Loved:

Fully can’t help but laugh and, frankly, neither can I. Who comes up with these lines?

And "...more like a gift from the poor guy walking out of the dunes stuffing his johnson back in his pants."

And the heading "Please God Make It Stop" reflected every single one of The Patio's sentiments. POR DIOS. I mean, it's bad enough just to see Jaz-Laz-Rosy-Abi every night, let alone them acting through the. exact. same. scene. every night.

I'm afraid Herny's gonna' bust out of the lockup. We only have secondary bad guys left with Ernie and Herny out of the way. Ursula and Pester just aren't diabolical enough and Fully's too much of a teddy bear. We need the crazy back.

But I got Valentin back after my complaint yesterday so I'm super excited about that. Love his boy next door to Mags' world weary.

Cap'n, I too got choked up with your farewell message. You are a port in la tempestad! I don't know how you're as smart and funny as you are but The Patio is the lucky beneficiary of your wit. It's been fun hanging out with you! :)

CE and RC are too funny in their scenes together. I am really hoping this TN has Bloopers so we can see how they were cracking up during those scenes. I think CE would be great in a comedy. I know he was in "Guapos" but he is way funnier here. Those looks, that voice, that laugh, jus' sayin' ; )

Susanlynn: "Do you think that we can carry the DamFun over to "Robo?""Absolutely...

Niecie: "And DamGentleman gave her every chance to back down before he hiked up her dress and yanked out the pillow". It never occurred to me that was what Dam was doing but you are so right! I simply thought he was trying to emphasize her lie when the truth was revealed. Thank you.

Carlos: Do any of your comments ever fail to me smile? Nevah.

katy: "Love his boy next door to Mags' world weary". Perfectly stated.

Diana

Diana..Are you planning to watch Robo..that Damremake of my beloved AmorReal ? I am hoping that everyone here, moves en masse to Robo so that the party continues. As you know, Amiga, I am here for the party.

Show of hands..who is moving on to Robo? I am hoping that the the whole DamBunch of you are coming along for the ride...NEXT. .

It is my intention to watch Robo for as long as I can.

Mads, I would love to see bloopers from this one.

Katy and others, thank you for your kind words. As Susanlynn says, "I am here for the party", and people definitely make the party.

Yes, we are Damparty animals, no ?

Well you know, that Wednesday DamHunkDay AllDay Happy Hour gets me every time.

Susanlynn: I'm in!! Definitely.

Par-tay on...

Diana

Sylvia, I thought that now that BIG HAIR is making a comeback, I was safe. Could you really see them?

So the jeep breaks down in the middle of nowhere and the beautiful young man despairs. ¡Dios! And I'm thinking Le petit prince...

And then the white horse appears and like the rest of you, I'm thinking Madre Eusebia's magic

And then the guy shows up fumbling with his fly and I'm thinking Monty Python!

And the next thing we know, it's DamHeroic to the rescue and I'm thinking Sweet William may be a damn good swordsman, but he probably can't ride a damn horse.

I'm staying on for Robo. Oh yes indeedy.

Well heck, not every galan can ride a horse as well as Fernando Colunga. William can't sail, can't row, probably can't ride, but he sure the heck can pack a rod (I'm referring to firearms of course) and dance. Bingo! We have a winner.

My local classical station just payed Hernan's Paganini piece. I wonder if I will ever be able to listen to it again without thinking of that crazy jaw-cracking, neck twisting, bug-eyed, colorfully-clad, Euro-trash babe?

Yay that so many Patio friends are signing on for Robo (cop)! I am predictably doing my 9:00 time slot of TN viewing/Spanish class!

And love Senastian Rulli so that's a bonus.

The party continues!!!

Sylvia this was wonderful. I have so enjoyed reading your work again as well as the other recappers. Thanks for filling in what we missed. And I too laughed at CE/Fully waving the gun at Delfina. Mads is right; the outtakes from this must be hilarious. So sorry we couldn't see CE & Rene.

I want to see Mags take on Fully particularly since she so easily dispatched with Pester.

"My local classical station just played Hernan's Paganini piece. I wonder if I will ever be able to listen to it again without thinking of that crazy jaw-cracking, neck twisting, bug-eyed, colorfully-clad, Euro-trash babe?"

Maybe not, Sylvia. It might be imprinted in the brain, just like that first slow dance song from junior high days.

BTW, did you notice they were playing Eine Kleine Nachtmusik on the yacht during the romantic wedding/kidnaping/attempted murder at sea? [If I had recapped that episode, I would have called it "A Little Night Music."]

Do you think that DamRulli will make us unruly ? I'm thinking...Oh Yeah .

I was introduced to Eine Kleine Nachtmusik in college. It is my favorite title..evah.

Hmmm...first slow dance in junior high....hmmmmm...still thinking

Never My Love - The Association

NM, yes, I love that piece! I have heard it at numerous weddings and it seemed completely incongruous with what was happening on screen. But hey, it's violin.

Sylvia:

You are the best. This recap was funny, satiric, original and, well, just so SYLVIA. Perfection.

I am flat out crazy busy today so I, sadly, cannot stay to chat with the Patio peeps, but I had to drop by and say how much I have loved recapping with you; this and all the other times we have shared. You have been my recapping mentor and my friend and for this I am very grateful.

Thank you for doing this recap. We will so miss you on Robo.

Abrazos,

Elna June

Cap'n Sylvia, this recap was awesome! Gracias for adding the deleted scenes.

I am on the bandwagon...I will be watching Robo too. I hope it's a good one. I never watched Amor Real, so I don't have anything to compare it to.

There were so many favorite lines from your recap.

- "Laz runs to her, the girls have a slap fest, Lu runs away, Laz runs after. Next!"

- "...after an efficient catfight the room is cleared of all pests."

- "Marina cries NO! The patio cries YES!"

- "Please God make it stop"

- "DamBestSceneOfTheNight"

There are too many to mention.

One of the best scenes from last night was when DamIToldYouIwasNOTTheFather revealed to the whole town that Pester is a damn liar! The look on Pester's face was priceless. I don't think we have seen the last of Pester or Hernan; it's just a hunch.

And ITA with everyone about CE and his portrayal of Fully. He is a great actor, and this role has brought out the best in him. I never thought I could somewhat like a villain, but he has so much charisma, that I can't help myself. He almost convinced me last night when he was trying to persuade Delfina to give their marriage another chance. Danm he's good; not to be confused with DamHe'sGood!

Just a side note, did anyone else notice DamDelicious make a face and kind of roll his eyes when he was with Marina, Bea, and baby Mercy, and Marina was talking about Hernan having a bad life thanks to Ernesto Contreras? I can't believe that Marina was STILL trying to find an excuse for Hernan, and my guess is that DamYouDon'tFoolMe just shrugged it off to keep the peace.

Thank you re-cappers so much for all that you do, and for all of your hard work and dedication. It is greatly appreciated.

Back to work...Hasta manana!

Sylvia,,,Never My love...good one. ..great for swaying and clinging . Hub and I have been to two Association concerts in the last few years. They still sound great.

I have a glimmer of a thought that my first slow dance was When I Fall in Love by the Lettermen. We saw them last Dec., and we are going to another Lettermen concert this May. Oldies but goodies.

LaLa Means I Love You ... The Delfonics

Oh yeah, I remember dancing to that one Anon! One of the few songs I like with La La of any sort in the lyrics.

Susanlynn, anything by The Lettermen. You saw them? Are their vocals still amazing? They must be good if you are going to see them again.

Aunty Ann, I missed Dam's eyeroll. There was a lot of that going on last night. Sounds like he's reconciled himself with Marina's blind spot. Sigh.

EJ, thanks for checking in amiga. I know Thursdays are busy for you. Sounds like you are having a crazy day.

Thank you for this marvelous recap! Well done!

The "DamBestSceneOfTheNight" was literally like the "DamBestSceneOfTheWholeTN" for me. I laughed through the whole thing, especially when Ursula looks up at Pester like "QTH, prima!" Pester got what was coming to her. She deserved to humiliated in front of everyone.

When DamFab's jeep broke down I was like "Did it get tired from the wild goose chase in the previous episode?". Honestly I think Hernan will escape and go after Marina again. It doesn't seem like he's done attempting to ruin everyone's lives.
--TF

Cap'n Sylvia...qué qué qué!!!???? You won't be recapping the next one. DAMDAMDAM!!!

I've been missing in action. Computer not working. Or when it is, people installing new sliding glass doors in computer room so temperature is 50 degrees, dust and debris and drilling everywhere.
By nightfall I'm a misanthropic maniac. If I had any terrariums I'd smash 'em.

Haven't seen any telenovelas all week, not kept up with CarayCaray.

Ms. Sylvia, does this mean you'll be traveling again? Or just taking a break from recapping?

Well, whatever the case, wishing you lots of fun and fiesta, because you have delighted us with your irreverent humor for not only months and months, but years and years. No one else has been a CarayCaray recapper as long as you, amiga, and you're fabulous.

"Thanks for the memories..."

Tf...you may be right. Perhaps the only thing that will stop Herny from pursuing Marina is death.

Sylvia, there is only one original guy left in The Lettermen. However, , I saw them twice when I was in college , and the second time I saw them, there were two different guys.vThe original guy is from Sharon, PA. He played a choirboy in the last scene of White Christmas with Bing Crosby. I learned that little factoid at their Christmas concert last year, maybe he I s hard to get along with. they sounded great.. .We saw The Four Tops and there was only one ....original top. Que lastima. However, some other the replacement Tops were sons of former Tops. Little Anthony must be in his 80s, and he is still freaking terrific. We were sitting in the front row and could not believe his perfect, powerful solos.

I'm late to comment but wanted to thank you for such a wonderful recap, Cap'n Sylvia!

I must say I loved how DamFab went horseback riding to save Marina and his baby daughter. I sure wish they would have shown it. Now THAT would have been WORTH WATCHING. Instead, we had to endure more scenes with JazLu/Laz/Abi yet again. Please writers make it stop already....

Bye Bye Nereo. Good riddance. I loved CE saying "now I have to be an actor". Damn you, Uni for cutting that little part of the scene! I'm so glad Delfina survived. Would have hated to see her get offed especially since she was the only one who could put a stop to the PesterFakePregnancy.

Well we have 2 more episodes to go. I will miss this TN. I've enjoyed it. For it being a Mejia TN it hasn't been that bad.
