Mentir Para Vivir #28 Wed 11/13/13 JL makes Oriana an offer she can’t refuse, or can she?

Table for Two
JL tries to get Oriana back but he's not getting anywhere. She's not willing to forgive and forget.  He begs for forgiveness for this one error.  After all she's suffered, she can't believe he'd ask her for forgiveness.  Yeah, he can see how she's suffering, kissing another man!  She admits she has a novio.  She had to have a reason to move forward and besides, she had been told JL was dead. She tells him Lucina and Raquel are the only ones who know her true identity.

Casa Breton
Maria's sedated and ready for her trip to the clinic. Elvira tells Ricky she'll miss Maria bunches, and bunches.  Bernice is apparently going with Maria to care for her at the clinic and she promises Ricky she'll keep him apprised of her condition.  The doctor assures Ricky that Maria will be in good hands and is bound to get better as she receives the appropriate medications and treatment.  He agrees to allow Bernice to care for her.  Seeing a familiar face will help her.

Fidelia is understandably happy she's gone, but sympathizes with Maria's situation. She gets a call from Seba who is complaining that Ricky won't let him see Maria.  Fidelia spills the frijoles that Maria is on her way to the psych ward.  Seba blows a fuse and hangs up on her.

Benigno's Man Cave
Typical caveman, Benny is enjoying a brew while watching TV as his woman Perla returns with the groceries.  He complains to her that he wasn’t successful in getting any money from Ricky, no matter how much he threatened him. Perla thinks he still has something to work with, after what he (Ricky) did to Maria.  He hems and grunts and finally fesses up that Maria told him Ricky didn’t do anything to her soooo Ricky can't be Seba’s dad.

Casa de Paloma
Ricky calls Ines but he find she's not there yet. He finds out Jorge left her downtown. Ricky goes into stalker mode, calling Lucina next to find Oriana. (Maybe he should just put a GPS tracker on her skintight pants)  He learns she's not with Lucina then leaves a voice mail for Oriana, urging her to get in touch with him LMPP (Lo Más Pronto Posible--teehee)

Table for Two
JL explains his Colombian friends helped him escape, along with a friend, with false documents. Through it all, his only hope was to reunite with her and their daughter. Said friend introduced him to people who suggested he come to Mexico end help them find investment opportunities. He denies the investment funds are dirty and says the firm he works with owns casinos in Santo Domingo and many other countries where casinos are legal.  It’s an honest job with a good salary.  He figures after a few good investments, the three of them could go off to some Caribbean Island and live happily ever after.   "I don't know," says Oriana, "something tells me you’re telling me nothing but lies."

Aresti Breton
Piero is discussing the next day's meeting with "Francisco Castro" but Ricardo is hardly listening.  He comes to and suggests they invite Lila, but not Berto. Piero notices Ricky's really anxious.  Ricky explains he's worried about Oriana, who's been missing for what, a few hours since this morning?  And she hasn't reported in. Imagine that.  Ricky explains he's been really nervous ever since he learned her husband is most likely lying in wait (acechar) for her.

Table for Two
Oriana's moved by his odyssey (odisea) but she's not convinced the money he's looking to invest is clean.  He swears it is.  Whatever, she doesn't want him getting involved with them.  JL explains it's too late, he' already committed and has to see it through.  He had no idea she was involved with that company.  “Oh really?  After you found out everything about me?  That Lucina was in Hermosillo?  That I had taken Ines' identity? That I'm living in that house?  You even followed Lina to the park!  I can't believe the money you're looking to invest is legal.  And if it isn't legal.......”    He doesn't let her finish, suggesting she's only afraid that Ricky may find out she's an imposter.  She denies this, saying her only worry is  for Paloma.  She's a good woman who thinks she's her granddaughter and has given her everything.  She's given her protection, but above all she gave her and Alina love. He suggests that they agree Paloma not find out.  He tells her to stay quiet about it and he will too.  Oriana just knows he'll only bring them all to ruin.  He explains he's only going to make them richer than they already are.  She tells him he's a miserable man, always was and always will be.  She doesn't know how she put up with him for so many years.  He repeats he was forced into this.  She screams at him that she doesn't believe him!  He attempts to reason with her, telling her that if she says anything, they could both end up extradited back to Colombia facing some hefty sentences, leaving Alina alone to face the possibility of living in an orphanage.  "I'll kill you first!"  she tells him.  Great, he says, then you'll have two murders on your conscience -- mine and your bf's father. She can’t believe she’s hearing this She leaves him alone at the table.

In the restroom, she thinks back on his threat and prays JL won't be able to separate her from Alina.  She comes to the realization that she’s going to have remain silent so that Alina won't end up alone.

Casa de Paloma
Stalker Ricky is now at Paloma's and again asking if they've heard from Ines.  Oriana finally arrives and the interrogation begins:
--Where were you?
--I was with a friend.
--What friend?
--I don't have to give you a rundown of everything I do.
--I left you a voicemail- why didn't you answer?  I was very worried.
--I'm sorry and I have a headache.
--You've had a lot of headaches lately.
--Yeah, so?
--Que te pasa, mi amor?
--Nothing's wrong!  Leave me alone!

He follows her into the dining room: I don't like your response
--Well it's the only one I have.
--Whatever problem you have, share it with me!
--I don't have any problems and I'm not going to tolerate a macho man who wants to know everything I do.  I don't like to be questioned and I don't like to be manipulated!
--Well, uh, I was just worried honey bunch..  With all this talk of your husband coming back, I thought maybe he might have kidnapped you!
--Well, you thought wrong, now leave me alone!

She walks away and he advises her that the meeting with Francisco Castro is tomorrow morning at 11:00.  That gets her to stand still and she's muy impactada.  She tells him she'll be there.

Later Ricky’s talking with Paloma to tell her about this Castro guy and all the money he's looking to invest.  This investment will allow them to expand their business internationally, putting factories in other countries, expand their customer base. He tells her about the meeting the next day where he hopes to learn more about this new investor.  He tells her everything is okie dokie between him and Ines.  Yeah they argue but everything’s fine.  yeah, right.

In her room, Ines works on her laptop but can't concentrate.  In comes Alina, wanting to make plans for her vacation time -- like going to Colombia maybe?  The stranger in the park has gotten her thinking that possibly her daddy may be waiting for them in Colombia.  Oriana assure her that is not the case.

Paulina calls Matilde to tell her about the meeting.  Maddie will certainly attend.  She brags to Ruben she's been invited to this meeting and invites him to attend.  She doesn't want to go alone because of how women are treated when their husbands aren't with them.  He absentmindedly says he'll think about it.  Funny scene:  he's practicing his golf swing, imagining he's made a hole in one.  My subtitles said "holling one".

Paloma and Ines are having a one on one discussion about the investor.  Paloma isnt too keen on this.  She's not sure it's in their best interest to expand internationally.  She knows that the younger generation always has these grand ideas about growth and making more money.  Ines talks about the global market and how it may end up being a good thing.  Paloma shares that Ricky wants to proceed cautiously.  Ines explains she only wants what Paloma wants.

Evening falls over Hermosillo.  Ricky calls Ines but she doesn't answer.  He leaves her a voicemail.  He tells her, calmly, that he knows something is bothering her and it pains him that she doesn't want to tell him. He urges her to come to him with her problems and tell him what it is that is distressing her (acongojar).  He loves her more than anything.  Oriana cries when she hears his message.

Casa Bonita
Mr. Castro still hasn't shown up but promises he'll show up tomorrow.  Lucina is agog.  Lucina and Raquel talk about the importance of getting in more guests.  Raquel has scored with a travel agent who has promised them 5 Canadian tourists, eh. Cesar arrives saying he's anxiously awaiting Mariano's return.  He heads off to bed and our hoteliers gossip about whether or not Cesar will really ever become a priest.  Raquel somehow doesn't think that will ever happen, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

Bar Bolo
Piero meets with Seba.  Seba wants to know where Maria is.  Piero can only tell him she’s in a psych ward but does't know where.  Seba is furious -- he has every right to know where she is.  She's his mother.  Piero reminds him he wasn't so happy when he found out she was his mother.  “What did you expect,” asks Seba, “She's a loca but she's still my mother.”  Piero agrees to find out more.  Now Seba brings up that he knows Piero was there that fateful night when everyone got drunk and Ricardo took advantage of Maria.  Piero measures his words carefully and says he's not sure that Ricardo took advantage of her. "And you?  Supposedly anyone could have taken advantage of her.  Ricardo, Antonio, or you.  How lovely, los tres Musketeers!"  Piero looks like he's seen a ghost. He asks if Seba is wondering who his father is: Ricardo, Antonio, or him (Piero). "God forbid one of you should be my father."  Piero now asks if Maria told him something.  Is that the secret between them?  He waves off Seba's statement that Maria is crazy.   “You asked me a specific question,  are you questioning what happened that night?”  "The only thing I wanted to know is that you are all a bunch of pigs!"  He leaves Piero deep in thought.

Casa Bonita
Cesar is in bed, tossing and turning.  He's having a nightmare.  In his dream, we see the back of a brunette but when he kisses her, it's Raquel.  Then we see him facing two women. Again, we see Raquel's face when he kisses one of them.  The girl of his "dreams" sneaks in and gets into bed with him.  He freaks, just a little bit.  She tells him she knows he was dreaming of her ....... aaaaaand .... they end up making out and we're left to assume more happens.

Iglesia
Cesar is praying in a pew and Padre Plaid joins him.  He tells Cesar he discussed his plan with the bishop.  He notices Cesar doesn't seem too excited to hear what the bishop may have said.  Cesar is confused. Mariano understands this decision can be very difficult.  It's normal to have doubts.  Cesar comes out with it: he's committed a carnal sin!  Mariano is very understanding.  Cesar is a young man.  Cesar admits it's happened twice now but he didn't go looking for it.  He was seduced.  He's even had erotic dreams about her (gasp!).    Mariano explains how St. Francis of Asisi (my namesake!) led a very licentious (disipada) life but later received his calling.  It's possible God hasn't yet called upon Cesar.  It's possible his need to become a missionary may simply be a need to run away from the world.  The missionary life is much more difficult.  He gives him the speech that when one becomes a priest one must be ready to serve any one, including his own mother.  Mariano feels Cesar may just be trying to get away from his mother.  But being a priest isn't about running away from one's problems, but rather to confront them.  Mariano confides that he had a novia but realized that wasn't his path in life.  Sure, he’s had temptations but with God's help he’s been able to control them.  Cesar wonders what would have happened had Mariano not been able to overcome these temptations.  Mariano wonders if that's what is going on with Cesar.  Cesar suddenly becomes agitated, "How should I know what's going on with me?"  He gets up and leaves the church.

Casa Paloma
Oriana answers a call from Ricardo who again asks what is going with her.  She again insists nothing is wrong.

Bungalow Azul
Seba barges in, demanding to know where his mommy is.  He tells Ricky that Piero confirmed she is in a manicomio (asylum).  Ricardo corrects him, saying she's in a clinic. Whatever, he has a right to see his mother or he'll charge Ricky with kidnapping.  Oooh, Ricky counters with saying that Seba would then have to admit she's his mother and that would mean a DNA test.  Seba tells him to go to hell, then leaves.

Casa Bonita
I just love Lucina! She chastises Raquel for sitting at the breakfast table in her robe (what would their guests think?)  She wants the guests to know this is a respectable place.  She then shrieks for Felipe to make sure the main suite is fixed up real nice for Señor Castro.  They learn from the maid that Cesar was up bright and early and left after having his morning juice.  Raquel tries to look innocent (doesn't work).  Lucina wonders what's with that smile, she looks like the cat who ate the mouse.  (who needs a canary?)  Raquel gets up and says she's gonna go make herself decent for Señor Castro.  Lucina:  “Decente?  HA!”

Aresti Breton
Piero tells Ricky that Seba just wanted to know Maria's whereabouts. Then, it was the same ol' same ol'  -- that he hates Ricky, that Ricky denied he was his dad, that Ricky took everything away from him, etc etc.  Ricky wonders why Piero seems so nervous.  Pierro saved by Oriana's arrival.  She notices the awkwardness between Ricky and Piero.  Ricky doesn't want to talk about that.  Egads, he asks if she prettied herself up today because of the meeting with the new investor.  ay, ay, ay.  Then he wonders if she's thought more about what she had said earlier -- what if it's her ex-husband, no, he corrects himself, her husband.  She tells him she'll know when she sees him.  He's being really obnoxious here, insinuating he doesn't believe she'll tell him when she sees him.  He asks again where she went yesterday after taking Alina to school.  She tells him she wanted to be alone to think about her life.  He wonders if she thought about him.  She admits she did, happy now?  Ricky doesn't know what to think.  He asks if she still loves him.  She’ll never stop loving him but the obstacles between them seem so great.....he interrupts her, saying nothing is insurmountable.  He's ready to do anything for her.  She's the woman he's waited for all his life. He lurrrrves her!  He's capable of doing anything for her.  He wants her for himself.  He wants to help her forget about her past. He wants to make her happy because if she' ok, he's ok.  He's interrupted by Paulina calling to tell him everyone is here for the meeting.  He asks Oriana again if she'll tell him if Señor Castro is really JL.

Conference room.
Matilde is busy putting a scrumptious looking pan dulce into her bag.  Lila inroduces her to Francisco Castro. Introductions all around.  Everyone is there, including Ruben and Antonio.  Ricky and Oriana arrive.  Ricky introduces Francisco to Oriana, Paloma's representative.  JL and Oriana play it cool.  Ricky and Oriana hang back.  Ricky asks "Es el?"  We'll have to wait til tomorrow to hear her answer.

My favourite readings in the morning: MPV recaps. Great job, Paquita.

I loved Oriana's all moment by Table for two. Every emotion was in this minutes, and this wasn't constrained. Godd MV, Good! :)

I love your "Stalker Mode", Paquita.
Ricardo similars to a KGB agent, he wants to know everything about Oriana's steps. He has a beagles's fair. But I understand Oriana, midst of this situation, she feels it leaden and stifling. If Ricardo wants to do good for Oriana, he has to be more patient, and not he works than a lie-detector machine.

Frankly, I would enjoyed Cesar's dream, and when the dream comes true, OMG. I want the same dream for me, and I don't want to be missionary, so it wouldn't cause problem for me. I would have a beautiful awakening.

What will Oriana say? Yes or No. Which answer will be smarter and better? I think both of them are bad for Ori. If she says Yes, Ric would be crazier, but if she says No, and Ric finds out her lie, he would be same crazier.

Great recap, Paquita.

Will she, or won't she? I like that Ori held back some info from JL, and didn't tell him that Ricky and his trusted team know her true identity. This will give Ricky an advantage, if Ori chooses to tell him that FC is really JL.

Alejo- LOL! I'm sure many men will agree with you that Cesar is a lucky avatars to have a fantasy come to life like that. I hope he goes back and continues to talk to Mariano to help sort out his feelings.

That's a lucky bastard, not avatar. :)

Good work, Paquita.

I don't understand Sebastian's attitude or does he not understand that Maria is dangerous to herself and others... including himself?

MadHilde is going to screw things up tomorrow; I'm sure of this.

Urban- Sebas' deal with Maria was that he would convince Ricky to let her live in the big house, if she kept the secret that Ricky did not make love to her. Since she is no longer in the house and near Ricky (what she wanted), there really is no reason for her to keep "their" secret any longer. Sebas is worried Ricky will find out the truth, and he will neither be Ricky's heir nor Gabriel's heir. He will be the son of a nobody—Peiro or Antonio.

Great recap, Paquita, thank you!

Alejo, when you said "I want the same dream for me, and I don't want to be missionary" - my mind skipped the "to be" before "missionary" - I thought you wouldn't mind going through what Cesar is going through as long as the missionary position is not used ... I'm sick, I know, a mini-Raquel... :)

What will Oriana do, that's the million dollars question - I think she lies because this way when Ric finds out the truth, he'll be upset with her and probably stop laying it on so thick with his love declarations.
Whenever Oriana says there are so many things that separate them, I chuckle - the situation is pretty complicated, but that's NOTHING compared to normal tn couples - more realistic, yes, but definitely not impossible to live with.

Great recap. Ric is a bit obsessive with Orianez for my taste-can the girl breathe for 20 milliseconds?

Wrt Sebas, isn't the fact that he was acknowledged legally as a Sanchez Breton-his birth cert and other identity docs say he is-negate his actual paternity? He's now 18 so isn't he considered either way an heir equal to Ric especially if Gabriel, his wife and Ric acknowledged him as an heir? I know I'm applying legal knowledge to a TN, and the legal rules are what Sras Zarattini and Ocampo say, but disinheriting Sebas for a fraud he didn't perpetuate is a bit legally dumb to me.

I haven't watched this EP yet but I get the feeling that Oriana won't say Castro is JL and when Ric finds out Oriana lied to him and involved a criminal in the Aresti business to protect her hide will make for some explosive drama.

J desde NYC- I agree it wouldn't be legal to take Sebas' inheritance away, nor do I think Rick would do it. This is all in Sbas's mind. He already has these feelings of inferiority to Ricky and has always felt that Ricky has "taken what is his" (their parents' love and admiration). If it came out that he isn't even related, I think he would feel even more like he was never loved and that he's a nobody. He thinks that others will think less of him.

Ricky is sort of obsessive about Ori, but he's also right. She's hiding something from him, it's about JL, it's obviously weighing on her, and sharing it with Ricky would probably help (two heads are better than one). He just needs to change his methods and his tone, so that he doesn't come off as jealous and controlling, but loving and concerned.

His instinct about Piero was also right, and he would have pushed more to find out what's bugging his amigo, had they not been interrupted. He reads people pretty well.

A million thank yous, Paquita (I love your name, btw)!!

You know what's really been going through my mind the past few episodes? What is Ricky going to do to his so called friends Piero and Antonio when he finds out the truth about how they have lied to him all these years?

I try to put myself in his place and I wonder if he already down deep suspects that either one or both of them have lied to him. I also wonder just how he will react.

I'm actually waiting for that reveal as it will have major implications for those two "friends" of his. Piero's conscience has bothered him for a number of years, I believe, but the other guy...I don't know. He's a jerk. Paloma doesn't like him either. I still remember her wiping his hand kiss off her hands!

Anywho, betrayal of any kind is difficult, but this particular betrayal is huge. Ricky lost a lot of years with the blackmailing and the making sure he didn't "ruin" the family name.

That is huge guilt to put on the shoulders of a teenager; huge.

Fatima (I know, I'm over thinking this one, but I am really hooked on this TN with its smart characters)

Fatima- Even worse that those two friends work for him. They have a personal and professional relationship. Talk about awkward office dynamics after that truth comes out!

Vivi in DC, I KNOW!!!

This is going to be huge. I'm sure of it. :) Well, it's a given, isn't? :))

Fatima

I don't think that Ricardo would toss Sebastian out on his butt, despite that the brat would deserve it. However, the betrayal of those "friends" will have major consequences.

Paquita – Great recap. My favorite line: "Maybe he should just put a GPS tracker on her skintight pants."

Oriana just needs time to think things through. Whether she tells Ricky now or not, she definitely needs to reject JL investing in the business.

Madhilda putting pastry in her purse was wild. Lady, you live in the lap of luxury - you don't need to horde pastry.

Raquel actually might be doing Cesar a favor, in more ways than one. I don't think he's cut out for the priesthood anyway. I haven't seen him lift one finger to help his fellow man, not even his sister. I'm in the he's running-from-mama camp.

Ruben said "Holling one" with such conviction. Too funny.

Gracias, Paquita!

I was supremely annoyed with Ricardo this episode. I was thinking to myself that when she came home, he talked to her as if she was a teenager getting home after curfew. Then when he got off the phone with her, talking to her that same way, and Sebastian walked in and started in on Ricardo I realized that's exactly who Ricardo sounded like! A spoiled brat who's pissy because he's not getting his way. I hope he gets over it quickly! I don't want to start hating him. And also...the neck scarf? Lose it, please!

I'm beyond annoyed at Raquel and what she's doing to Cesar. Abusing her position and using her key to get into his room is crossing a line for me. She's taking advantage of his inexperience, and not just sexually. I don't think he has any idea what he wants, since he's spent most of his life not being allowed to make decisions for himself. I wonder how much he's had the freedom to decide anything beyond what clothes to put on in the morning--if that!

And Matilde with the pastry...seriously? That's a pretty lowbrow thing for someone who's hung up on class to do. And on a more practical note, she stuffed one that's dusted/crusted with sugar into her purse only barely wrapped in a napkin. She's going to be pulling sugared everything out of there for months! Come on, writers!

Thanks for the recap! Muy buen hecho.

I hope Madhilde's purse gets overrun with ants. Qué the heck with the pastry swiping? It isn't like she's being starved at home.

Ricardolt is grating on my nerves. I do not like his controlling tendencies. He and Sebastard are so much alike, even if they aren't blood relatives. I wonder who the real father is. Sebas looks a lot more like Piero. Hard to see how Antonio and Maria could together create a child with his coloring. Of course, in a telenovela that doesn't matter. How about a dark horse candidate? MARIANO! And he and Maria were both roofied so neither of them remembers it! That would be a twist.

Poor Cesar is kind of heartbreaking. A hot night, then cut to the cold light of day and he is crying in church.

I did laugh when Lucina chided Raquel for sitting at the table in her robe, because guests would think it was a bordello. Ha! It already IS a bordello! I wonder if it will be good or bad for business when word gets out.

Thanks for your recap Paquita. ITA that Ricky is in stalker mode. I understand his concern but he needs to take it down a thousand.

From yesterday Cynderella & Vivi on Ricky and Maria - I can understand why he didn't want to send her to a mental facility and his relationship w/her is stuck back in his teen years. However, my understand ceases when it is obvious Ben was doing nothing to help her and being abusive. Anyplace would have been better for Maria than that hate filled hovel. And her brief stay w/Fidelia was just ridiculous.

Ricardo is controlling, even though he is right about Orianez hiding something. But, he needs to back off a bit and just let things unfold. The always-in-her-face way he is about Orianez is stifling for a woman who is independent-minded as she is and has too many issues to deal with. Let the woman live!

I guess that's the downside of having a galan who thinks-he always suspects something is up and he's almost always right that something's up. Ricky knew Ines was Oriana off-the-bat; he knew Mariano was falling for Orianez. He knows Ines is hiding something now. Heck, he even knows Sebas and Maria are hiding something from him but b/c that issue is a sore spot, he's in denial about Sebas not being his child.

Also, it seems to me in tns that overt jealousy between the protags about their relationship is par-for-the-course as it signifies 'true love.' Ric has pretty much put Marilu and Raquel on forever ignore, so his obsession with Orianez is suppose to signify his commitment to her.

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but does Maria not know or remember that she had a child? It's hard to imagine she would forget about being pregnant. Did they tell her she had a giant tumor and she was going to have surgery to remove it? I would think a child who was taken away or that she was told was dead would be the sort of thing she would fixate on and talk about all the time. I missed some episodes at the beginning so I'm not sure how much she knows about her own history.

Julia- I still haven't gotten around to watching all the episodes from the first two weeks, so I can't answer your question about Maria. I do wonder if her baby doll obsession and possessiveness stems from having her real baby taken from her. She might not be able to distinguish the difference in her addled mind. She likely thinks they took a doll from her when they took Sebas away.

I missed some episodes at the beginning --> Yes, I want to write sg similar in the morning.

I would have seen more from the married life of Ori and JL. I am citing now: "She tells him he's a miserable man, always was and always will be." (I heared thes words, too.)

AlejoP - I was surprised to hear Ori say that to JL. In the first episode, Ori seemed very happy, planning a romantic night with him. Later, when he confessed the smuggling, she was shocked and angry, like it was something she'd never imagine coming from him.

This comment has been removed by the author.

What she said was: "You're a miserable man. You always have been, and I was very stupid to fall into your web/trap."

So I think she's saying in hindsight, he was fooling her all the time they were married, but she was too blind to see it. So it both explains that she did have a happy marriage, but she now thinks that it was based on lies.

Ori feeling like she had been manipulated and lied to her whole marriage, also explains what she said to Ricky later about not wanting to be controlled or manipulated.

Vivi - Now I'm feeling a little sorry for Ricky. He was in stalker/jealous mode, but I hope she doesn't take her earned illwill against JL out on Ricky.

Thanks Paquita, great job as always. I too lol's at Matilde putting a pastry in her purse. And the Holling one was hillarious too. I watch with Spanish captions and that is what they wrote. haha.

Maria does not know that Sebastian is her son.

I agree that Oriana was looking at her marriage in hindsight, knowing now what she didn't know then that he has probably lied to her their entire marriage. That's not unusual when a person finds out after many years that their spouse was cheating to remember many clues that went unnoticed before they learned of the infidelity.

Thanks Paquita for a great recap of a great episode. Not surprisingly it generated lots of great comments from viewersville. I agree with those who believe that Oriana is going to lie about JL's identity. She has such fear of the consequences that she is allowing JL to involve her more and more with his blackmail and schemes. In doing so she's going to risk betraying the two people who love her very much (Ricky and Paloma). At some point she's going to have to bite the bullet and call his bluff .

I hope she tells Ricardo the truth. I hope she has some sort of plan to deal with him as an investor or potential investor that will help to get her out of her mess she's in.

Thanks Paquita, this is excellent.

I'm not shedding any tears for César. Heck, just say no or live the dream... either way, quit that whining.

Carlos

LOL Carlos I agree 100% with your comment about Caesar. He never even asked Raquel "que haces aqui"?

Maybe Cesar thought he was still dreaming. I did because Raquel said she knew he was dreaming about her. How did she know?

Thanks Paquita, awesome recap!
Sab is getting on my last nerve. He should be a little respectful. One, he knows Ric is definitely not his dad. Two, he knows he is not entitled to anything from Gabriel's estate. Three, what can he possibly hope to gain by his obnoxious behavior? Betrayal comes too easily to these characters. I feel Ric's anguish. Finally finds the perfect woman and boom she has more baggage than a csx train.
what I don't understand, is why best friend Piero doesn't confess.
AS for Cesar, once a doormat always a doormat. Good job Madhilde.

Hanna

I think Cesar's situation is a little bit interesting because so often it is girls who are raised to be really sheltered and naive and doormatty and they end up pressured into having sex when they don't really want to...which is what everyone is expecting to happen to Fabiola...but here Madhilde has managed to put her son in that situation as well. As least the cliché has been flipped. Also I think it is slightly more enlightened than the cavemannish fare TV often dishes up, in showing that men aren't always the sexual predators and they can be used and abused, too.

Speaking of which, in Llena de Amor, when Axel had so much sexual dysfunction, it was later revealed that it was due to the horrible things his mother had done to him years earlier. I wonder if there is anything like that in Cesar's case.

We're way behind - hubby is watching on Hulu.

But I gotta say, the actress playing Oriana is pulling out all the stops! Wow! Would never have guessed from Una Familia she had it in her.

Julia- Yeah, it's a nice twist when it's a guy who's shown to be virginal and uncertain about sex. I remember poor Axel. Not sure Matidle would have done anything twisted to Cesar, like Fedra did to Axel though. I think it's enough that she's emasculated him his whole life.

I like how Oriana is with Alina. She's a loving and tender mom, but she isn't all sweetness and light all the time with her (Chucho and Alma in PEAM, I'm looking at you). She knows how to turn on that mom voice. You can tell Mayrin has kids in real life (10 year old twins and a 4 year old).

I don't think Mathilde would have done anything like Fedra did, but I can see how, in addition to emasculating and oppressing Cesar, she might have been feeding him a lot of twisted ideas over the years. Or maybe he has trauma from somewhere else.

I like how Oriana is as a mother also, not being all syrupy sweet to Alina or calling her "princesa" all the time. She's kind and caring, but not giving her kid a Centro Universo complex.

Audrey, I agree about the actress playing Oriana. She was outstanding today. But I also think that David Zapeda delivered when he was pleading with Oriana to tell him what was wrong. He was very convincing in his desperation to know what is happening with her. I really like how these characters are so smart to figure out what is not being said. That's what I love about this show.
