Corazon Indomable, #157, 12/17/13 Maricruz disappears AGAIN. Tav thinks he lost her forever AGAIN. Alvaro comes to the rescue AGAIN. I never have to write a CI recap AGAIN!

Most scenes have been condensed and cut short (sadly, I couldn't ignore them).

Tav has decided he won’t go to Isla Dorada, he’ll just drop Doris off and get back to Mexico City with the same plane; he has to do this for his daughter, he explains to a furious Doris. This is when she blurts out that MC is already free, so he can come with her because Lupita will have her mother from now on.
Ay, no puede ser, MC is free? Tav is utterly surprised and mad with Doris for keeping this a secret. She explains that she wanted to save (!!) him from MC, because she knows that no matter what MC does / has done, he will always forgive her.
Now Tav doesn’t want to go to Isla Dorada at all, Doris can travel alone and he’ll join her later. And if he doesn’t, he’s sorry.

Maria has finally reached a police station and asks about Maricruz Olivarez, a woman that looks very much like her… Oh, what a laugh I just had. NEXT!

Clementina visits MC at Tav’s house and apologizes for having believed her to be a criminal; she feels so bad about it, she wants MC and Lupita to come live with her and her husband. MC refuses the invitation, she thinks that if she accepts everyone will think the rumors about Alfie and her were true and he is Lupita’s father. Clem had no idea about the rumors, but she insists that she wants MC with her – she feels very alone and she’s still grieving her son.
MC refuses once again, she plans to find a job somewhere and she will leave Lupita with her father (!!!) because she doesn’t want her daughter to feel shame for what she’s done (the stint in jail, I presume). She tells Clem about the difficult life she’s had so far and how she has to go forward without leaning on anyone.
Lupita, Miguelito and Juanita come back home and Clem is introduced to all of them. Alone again, Clem and MC resume their talk about MC’s plans to abandon her daughter for the second time in how many episodes?
Clem, whose son has just been viciously murdered, doesn’t slap the stupidity out of MC for saying that she plans to leave her daughter, but she starts to weep, saying how she’ll never be able to recover from losing Alfie and she wants to give all the love that she has inside to Lupita and MC. She goes as far as kneeling to beg MC to be a part of her life. This convinces (!!) our heroine NOT to abandon her daughter, but instead sneak away with her without even allowing the little girl to say goodbye to her dad.
But more on that later.

JA arrives home in a wheelchair and with his usual bad mood. Esther tries to comfort him, saying that science advances so much, maybe his condition will one day be curable.
JA screams at her and says she’ll get bored with him and leave as soon as she realizes that he won’t be able to fulfill his husband duties with her.
Esther goes away for a while, but then comes back with their baby. As JA carries the little boy and kisses him, Esther promises she’ll work to support the family and she’ll be by his side forever and they’ll pull through together as a family.
JA remembers MC, his many bad deeds and his downfall and finally apologizes to his wife and appears to be willing to settle into his new life.
Is this it? Will MC ever find out he stole from her?

Clem arrives home and tells her husband that MC refused to come live with them, but they’ve become grandes amigas and MC promised to ask for help whenever she needs it. She tried to give her some money but MC refuses; luckily Juanita, her trusted companion and nanny, took it.

MC talks to someone on the phone (later we find out it’s Alvaro, who has a job proposition for her); then she tells Miguelito that she and Lupita have to go, but he’ll have to stay and take care of his uncle. The goodbye scene between Lupita and Miguelito is all kinds of cute.
So, Miguelito is left with the portera and MC, Lupita and Juanita leave to a find a hotel to stay.
As soon as their taxi leaves, Tav comes back to find an empty house.
The scene with him calling for his daughter is really sad, this only makes my dislike MC more for her idiotic decisions.
Finally Tav finds Miguelito and the portera explains him that MC came and took Lupita.
Later Miguelito explains him how Lupita and the pretty lady (MC) are gone but he was left in charge to take care of his uncle; also, a lady came to talk to MC before she left (this is a clue that Tav will need later on).
Once again Miguelito steals the show with his cuteness and his interaction with Daniel Arenas is warm and realistic.

Arriving at their new hotel, MC talks to Juanita about the shame she felt before when she wanted to leave Lupita with Tav; but now she changed her mind (go figure!), she knows Tav will be surprised, but she left him a letter explaining everything.
She then goes to meet with Alvaro and tells him she did spend a night in Tav’s house, but he wasn’t there; now she left and Tav can’t know where.
Alvaro offers her the companion job for his disturbed daughter. He explains that she is a little bit hysterical, she was once hurt badly by a man. MC knows all too well what that must be mike.

Tav finds MC’s letter. Here is my very loose interpretation of it:

Dear Chulito,

Perdoname for taking Lupita, but I had already told you when you visited me in the pokey that as soon as I’m out, I’m coming for her. I now realize the stooopid decisions I’ve made have caused an unnecessary harm and an even more unnecessary prolongation of this drivel that is called our forbidden love story.
You go ahead and marry fair Doris and follow your own sorrowful camino. I’ll make sure Lupita knows about you, I’ll tell her stories about how great a daddy you were in the few episodes I allowed you to be near her or when you repeatedly stole her from me back in the good old days when I was rich and you were practically a gigolo at $imona’s ranch.
Maybe later, 65 episodes from now, when things calm down for a minute, you’ll get to see her again. But before that happens, give me the chance to screw up my life all over again and you should do the same, too. There is nothing stopping us from being together, so we have to work extra hard to make our relationship NOT work.
Please try to forget us. I wish you the best.

ADIOS, la Salvajita

Upon reading such emotional words, Tav is almost weeping, thinking that this time he did lose his MC forever. But no, he’ll search for her, he won’t give up; and the lady Miguelito mentioned might be a first clue in his quest.
He wonders where they might be, especially since MC has no money. He also remembers their fights in jail – he’s still not sure if something happened between her and Alfie.

Alvaro arrives home (is this the same set as Fulgencio’s house in La Tempestad??) and tells Magdalena that he found someone to come help her take care of Elsa. It’s a good woman, who needs his help, someone he met while he was working in Tamaulipas. He’s in love with her but sadly, she loves another man.
He mentions how she was in jail for a while, but her innocence has been proved. Magdalena doesn’t think such a woman should come in contact with Elsa, especially when she hears the man she had presumably killed was Alfonso, Elsa’s ex, who hurt her so much.
Alvaro explains that MC doesn’t know this detail and there is no reason for her to find it out, anyway.

Back at the hotel, MC tells Juanita about her new job. Also, Alvaro said they can move in to a little house he has on his property (could it be Ricardo’s Blue Bungalow from Mentir?), but she refused. They’ll keep on paying an expensive hotel room and she’ll come to sleep here every night, if Elsa doesn’t need her.

Tav is trying to figure out a way to find MC when Doris, the Menace shows up. She hasn’t left for Isla Dorada after all.
She gets very giddy when she finds out that MC came, took Lupita and left and tells Tav that it’s obvious why MC didn’t tell him where she went: she doesn’t want him anymore!

Juanita asks MC if Alvaro has declared his love again, but MC seems very confident that won’t happen because they already talked about it and she made it clear she’s not interested. Juanita thinks she should consider him as a man, though, he’s helped her so much and she does need someone. If not Tav, then Alvaro is the best candidate.
No, he’s not, MC is determined to make it work on her own. Once again she’ll be away from Tav, but it can’t be helped (ugh!).
In the meantime, she’s very curious to meet Alvaro’s daughter.

Previews:
MC is in a shop and someone recognizes her as the nude lady and starts to shout at her
MC and Elsa meet; Elsa hugs MC
The Guv comes to take Doris with him, she’s screaming that SHE’S NOT GOING!

Comments:
Your title is the funniest title I ever read. Good job!

I second the above comment.

Egads what *was* that last night. I just sat in front of my TV with my mouth agape for an hour. Q.T.H.

Great final recap, Adriana, especially the letter from la Salvajita. "There is nothing stopping us from being together, so we have to work extra hard to make our relationship NOT work". said it all.

Well, thanks to the previews it looks like Maricruz is going to get knifed in the street. Are we going to another hospital with her "debatiendo entre la vida y la muerte"? We haven't heard that "struggling between life and death" phrase in a while now. It will be a hoot seeing the Guv trying to get Doris to go back to Isla Dorada.

One day closer to resolution of all of these plot lines . .

Jarifa

Fabulous title and great snark regarding the farewell note.

I share your sentiments; this story needed to end about 100 episodes ago.

Ah, that title came straight from the heart, my friend.

Your "interpretation" of the farewell letter was soooo funny. Also loved:

Your play on Dennis the Menace [Doris the Menace] and

"The goodbye scene between Lupita and Miguelito is all kinds of cute."

I actually watched the whole thing last night and was amazed that those exhausted little toddlers managed to say their lines and hug each other at the appropriate time.

I remember hearing about the abuses of young actors, and drugs used to keep them working far beyond their capacity, back in Judy Garland's day. Looks like Mexican telenovelas are still pounding the little ones with overwork. (sure hope I'm wrong, but it certainly looks that way)

Octavio was quite touching in his distress and I actually laughed when he turned away in disgust when it was ShutUpDoris at the door.

Missed the previews but sounds like there'll be an interesting confrontation with the Guv. Whatever gets us to the gran finale, I'm all for it!

Thanks Adriana, you've been a trooper. And now you've been mustered out, m'dear. Time to celebrate.

Doris the Menace, love it. Guess we know what MC was writing while in prison. Look forward to the show down between the spurned teen lover and MC the object of Alfonso's desire. Alvaro what a great papa to put the two together

Adriana, you are truly funny. I am so glad you took up this task of recapping, as you have made it so worthwhile.
Mary

Thanks, guys!
I'm so happy to be done with CI, I never truly liked it.
When MC was still la salvajita I couldn't wait fo rher to get to teh city; then, on Isla Dorada, she annoyed me with her Venganza Monologues and lack of interest in her family.
And the rest of the tn has been truly awful, so not much of an enjoyement for me.... BUT being part of the recapping team and getting to know so many people here has been one of the best experiences I've ever had.

Thank you all for your support and your nice words - they make a huge difference!

Great job, Adriana! I haven't watched the episode yet, but I want to see the two kidlets interact. Miguelito sounds like he was adorable.

Well, the writers have five more hours of story to keep Tav and MC apart before the happily ever after, so they have to think of something, anything, to accomplish this.

I'm glad to read that Tav finally dumped Doris, but I'm sure she's not done causing trouble, or taking advantage of the trouble Tav and MC cause for themselves.

Oh your title was hilarious!!

Thank you for your awesome recaps and all of your hard work!

I share your sentiments on all this drivel so have nothing to add but the fact that MC is her own worst enemy and she needs to enact venganza on herself!

Adriana, you depart us with brilliance, right down to the title. And that letter--we only wish that is what she wrote.

All I can say after watching last night was OMG!!! The lunatics have left the asylum and they are writing the show this week. The way these poor kids are treated like ping pong balls is atrocious. MC is not fit to be a mother to any child frankly. Love how she takes back Lupita, parks in a hotel again and then MAYBE she'll be able to come home once in a while....can't even.

Yep, I think this TN is slowly but surely confirming it's position as the WORST written TN EVER!! (Sorry Gringo).

Daisynjay

That recap was just beautiful...I am still laughing.

I can only assume that the first words out of Maricruz's mouth will be Fonze is dead. Let the healing begin.

Shouldn't Doris be getting pregnant about this time?

Maricruz down by the railroad cars. Is she going to be a hobo?

Continuity. Not is this novela.

So now we will have a pillar of a female role model at around 25 showing the ropes to a 16 year old girl that was in love with the same guy that painted her role model nude. Oh god

Adriana Noel:

Thanks so much for this delightful, snarky last recap and for all the other recaps you have done for this TN, well done! Also love the title, best evah!

MC is so wishy washy. That so bugs me about her. What happened to the intelligent MC, that saved the casino from Carola? She used to make such good decisions there, and now she can't decide to keep her daughter or not. I can't stand what the writers have done to her.

I am so happy that Tav finally dumped ShutUpDoris! Can't wait for the Gobernador to drag her skanky self back to Isla Dorada!

It seems the villains in this TN already got what was coming to them, so no need for closure there, IMO. I too wonder if MC will ever realize that JA stole from her, she didn't believe anyone telling her that before.

I have to give kudos to Ester for sticking around and being willing and able to support JA after all he has done. Also to Clementina for begging MC for forgiveness.

ITA with MC's new job of taking care of Elsa. So not a good idea.

Thanks again Adriana Noel.

Thanks for your recap Adriana. Your title is hilarious.

Also thanks to Latina for your recap yesterday and all the recappers and commenters. You all have made this tn what it is as the writers haven't. Sorry Gringo.

@Adriana - hilarious recap, from the title down to the letter. I couldn't stop laughing. The letter was absolutely brilliant.

Thanks to everyone for all the comments on my last recap. Sorry I had no chance to respond to anyone. I have been super-busy lately. (oh, and gringo, sorry you didn't appreciate my disdain. What can I say, I wouldn't have been so harsh if I thought C.I. was bad from the beginning. I was harsh because I enjoyed a big chunk of it and I was a HUGE fan of Maricruz, and they totally ruined her as a likeable and sympathetic character.)

I had a longer comment, but Blogger ate it for breakfast.
So, Adriana, your recap was funny and a great "farewell" for us. Your title was great and I loved your translation of MC' letter to Tav.

Alvaro, daughter, and that situation? Rank stupidity. Please, show, give us a break. Oh well, just a few more days to tote that weary load.

Thanks for this great recap, Adriana. Your love for this TN showed right through. The title of course is one of the best ever. Your loose translation of Maricruz's kidnap/goodbye note is a treasure.

I was surprised that Juanita went along with leaving Miguelito behind under the watchful eye of the portera. I thought that she was a more vigilant nanny than that.

Does anyone remember Alvaro mentioning a wife and daughter? I thought he told Maricruz that he had never met the right girl to form a family with.

I guess Doris' gallbladder is all better now.

As you pointed out, the kids were really cute together last night.

Carlos

Think he mentioned a daughter before but not the age. Alvaro is willing to dump his daughter and MC together because he wants MC so much despite knowing the history of each with Alfonso. Didn't Alvaro's sister protest when he told her?

I finally had a chance to read the recap. Adriana, not only is this the best title for a recap, but that was the best letter I read in a recap ever too.

Carlos, you should know better that with this show just because Alvaro never mentioned a wife and daughter and may have said he hadn't met the right girl to form a family with doesn't mean that he never met the right girl and formed a family with her. Sheesh!

Since I quit watching some time ago, I hope that Juanita really did take that money. She needs to put it in her own bank account so she has the funds to take Lupita and Miguelito far away from these people. Technically kidnapping but no one, especially the parents, would notice, and the courts would be on her side anyway if they've been watching this. Maybe she could go work in Tobias' haberdashery.

C.I.: Making El Talisman look good for at least 80 episodes.

Kelly

I noticed that Uni trimmed down several scenes ti make them shorter than usual. Was anything cut?

I guess that the final recaps are going to be little more than trash the show as much as possible
and soak up all of the "oh how wonderful and hilarious it was comments." Oh well, I will still do the right thing and say thank you Adriana. I was so wanting to know what was in the letter that MC wrote last night but all that came out was a comedy sketch for Saturday Night Live. No, it Wasn't
funny. Anyway, what's done is done so it's time to move on.

LatinainMD.---I understand.

I agree that little Miguelito stole the show last night. He said
more in two minutes that Lupita has during the whole show so far.

Carlos asked the question and I have been thinking it for a while now. Is the lady that Alvaro with his wife or a sister? Her name Magdalena? If Alvaro is married, what was with the courtship of Maricruz?

Madelaine---I also wish that the writers didn't make Maricruz so wishy washy. It's too bad that they did that.

I will start bracing myself for more sarcasm tomorrow AM.
the gringo

I was and am amazed that the little guy who plays Miguelito memorized that long bit of dialog. He is an amazing little actor.

Thank you Andriana Noel for all your work on the recaps.

gringo, I didn't ask who Madelaine is. He called her his sister-in-law when he was describing his job offer to Maricruz so I'll take him at his word. I'm just surprised that he has a sister-in-law... and a daughter.

I'm confused as to why we even have Elsa at this late date.

Adriana's depiction of the events of last night's episode is quite accurate. She may have embellished the letter a bit with her good humor but was actually pretty much on target as to what it said.

As for we recappers trashing the show, I submit that the writers and producer have done an admirable job of doing just that without any assistance from us. Believe me, you have been provided as much detail as we have regarding the last episodes. Is it making a lot of sense to you right now?

Carlos

Wow, the letter is brilliant!!!! It made my day!!!

Carlos, no, Alvaro never talked about his daughter and wife. Even more, he said, he always soltero and Lupita will be like his first own child. Romero forget about this.
But who cares? I'm not. I dont want to follow this storyline, because I'm sure that it will end like many others - wit no ending. I think, that this episodes it's only screen time for Goyri. No use for general plot.
And veeeeryyyyy boring. The most boring final episodes so far.
Alegria

150 hours invested and all I feel for the heroine is apathy and a coping mechanism for apathy is sarcasm (so thank you all). I don't feel like being a cheerleader nor have sympathy for this final version of MC. AB is a beautiful woman but I don't even see that anymore and when she does something else stupid can only shake my head. I want Octavio to do something stupid so I can at least scream at him.

Thanks Alegria, that's how I remembered it.

I've watched a fair number of TNs over the years and even the very worst of them managed to develop some suspense and excitement in the last few episodes. This is just sputtering and fizzling as it stumbles toward the finish line.

As for Elsa... why?

Carlos

Gringo, as Carlos pointed out, I didn't make up the letter, MC wrote all those things to Tav - I only added some snark because that's what I do.
Even with shows I consider far superior, like Mentir para vivir, I still make fun of characters and scenes and that's pretty much what all recappers do because it's part of the job description, I guess.

If you didn't like it, it's ok, I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be to come here and read all these awful comments about a show you like so much. I would have bailed ages ago.
You are a true fan and that is not an easy task with all of us, CI bullies, questioning the things you enjoy so much.

Carlos, thanks for the support. I wonder about Elsa, too... And a douzen other characters that I'm too lazy to type.

Thank you, Adriana. I loved the whole recap and yep, the letter, snark included, sums up what the writers have done to this story. I haven't watched a ton of novelas like many of you but has there ever been one where the couple that supposedly loved one another spent so much time apart with so much antagonism between them? Has a protagonist ever been killed at the finale. Seriously gringo and anyone else who loves MC and this show I am not wishing that but even that wouldn't surprise me now!

Lila

Those kids were the best. Miguelito telling Lupita to "portate bien" was cute, along with their hugs and kisses. And that dialogue he had with Octavio! The kid had a huge monologue with Octavio just reacting and it was great. His (Miguelito's) speech just seemed to flow, exactly how a little kid would do when reporting everything he saw/heard to an adult. He sounded like a tape recorder being played back. Sometimes adults seem to forget that the little kid in the background is hearing and seeing everything and could probably repeat it to you word by word.

It reminds me of when my brother got married (justice of the peace) and my son was three. When we got to the reception, someone asked him (my brother) how it felt to be a married man. Jokingly, he said, "I'm not married, SHE is!" and my son quickly retorted, "Uh, huh, Uncle, you are married. The man said do you take this woman to be your awful wife and you said I do!" LOL

Naima

thanks, Adriana Noel for that excellent swan song.

How does Mari manage to fall effortlessly into all these jobs that she has No qualifications for ?

Doris, the menace. HA

finally, exactly why do the writers feel that it is necessary in the final hours of this novela to have the heroine attacked in the mean streets ? que? Que? what ?

I'm watching my recording right now. OMG! Miguelito is SO cute telling Tav everything that happened. Adorable.

If MC is going to be spending most of her days, and possibly nights, at Alvaro's house, why did she bother to move Lupita and Juanita out of Tav's apartment? They were happy and comfortable there, and Lupita had a playmate.

I have to agree with Carlos. Even Cachito has some suspense and excitement. At the end of each episode this week I'm left hanging and actually wanting to see watch the next day. So far this week on CI I usually feel ambivalent at the closing credits.

Again I say many thanks to the recappers. Y'all are true heroes.

@Lila - yes, believe it or not, Televisa protagonists occasionally die at the very end, usually the female, but sometimes the male, or both of them.

The female leads died at the end in all these novelas from the 80s: Vanessa (shot), Angelica (poisoned), El Angel Caido (suicide). Both leads were shot dead at the end of El Extran~o Retorno de Diana Salazar (also from the 80s). In Amor En Silencio (late 80s), both leads were murdered somewhere in the middle of the novela and their young daughter grew up and became the new lead (played by the same actress who played her mother, Erika Buenfil from Amores Verdaderos). Also, in La Esposa Virgen (from 2005) the male lead (played by Jorge Salinas) was murdered at the very end. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that just recently the female lead in Pasion Prohibida (on Telemundo) committed suicide.

I'm not saying this will happen on C.I.; just answering Lila's question.

Thank you Latina! OMG! I never knew! That would be highly disturbing for someone who watches for childish reasons (me) like smooches and more from a hot couple, some action, suspense and a few laughs. Oh, and of course, keeping my Spanish tuned up. While I seriously wouldn't be surprised if they let MC die, it would seem like quite an assault on the viewing audience! Yikes!

Lila

Lila and Latina,

My first TN was Ramona. The main galan was Alejandro (Eduardo Palomo) an Indian who was married to Ramona (Kate del Castillo). The two of them were being held in jail. Alejandro was condemned to be hanged and dang if on the day that I was expecting him to escape from jail, they came and took him from the jail and by golly... they hanged him.

My first TN! Yikes!

Carlos

LatinaInMD, "Pasion Prohibida" is "Turkish" novela and in Turkey a lot of novelas had a bad final.
A wish Televisa make remakes of turkish novelas. They are great!!!

But CI is a pink novela, so we'll see a wedding in the end. It's not a spoiler, we all knew this from the beginning.
Alegria

Oh Carlos that would've freaked me right out! OMG seriously!? Yikes indeed!

Lila

Carlos, you crack me up! I remember watching Ramona and not liking it too much, but I had completly forgotten about the galan dieing.

My biggest dissappointment in the area has been Pasion Prohibida - I knew the Turkish ending but I hoped against all hope up until the tragic end.

In Dos Hogares one of the heroes dies at the end, but it's all good, since the heroine gets back together with the other hero, who was much younger and ... Carlos Ponce.
In Flor Salvaje the hero dies, too, but he starts the novela as a bad guy.

Televisa rarely takes risks with their stories, but Telemundo loves to do it.

Just a correction, the lead in El Angel Caido (1986) did not commit suicide. It was one of the few telenovelas where the main character was actually the villain. She's the 'fallen angel' from the title, a truly evil woman. In the final episode (available on YouTube), she is killed by the older man who loved her, and who'd been manipulated by her to commit murder and destroy her enemies. He realises she never loved him, and poisons her.

As for Diana Salazar, Diana was the reincarnation of a 16th century woman who'd been accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake.
In the final episode Diana is killed but then we learn that IT WAS ALL A DREAM that the 16th century woman was having!
She dreamed about a life in a strange, distant future.
