Caray, Caray!

Hey Y'all I put up the cast pictures for this TN. I am volunteering for Mondays. Anybody want to join me? Come on, it's Jaime Camil! He's a doll and his comedic timing is so funny. I have seen some of it on UVideos, Uni's website and it's truly funny, better than PEAM!
 

A comedy at 10 kind of blows my mind, but I want to give this one a try.

I have a feeling this is one I will watch obsessively, but always be a day behind on. 10 pm?!?!?! Do they think we are all still in college?!
 

I've watched every promo on uvideos and this one looks very good, but I will be a day behind too. It is doing well in Mexico so I'm sure there will be an excruciatingly dramatic and long extension.
 

To be fair, it's not a big stretch to say that almost anything would be better than PEAM. ;-)

Much as I'd like to do this, it's too late for me.

Jamie Camil and Artuto Peniche looks like I'll be obssessed with this one and for me it comeds on at 9 so life is good.
 

This has a hint of Green Acres where Lisa and Oliver lived the high life in NYC but Oliver wanted to be a farmer instead, so they move to the country to live a much more humble life, except Lisa (Eva Gabor) couldn't adapt.
 

I loved Green Acres! Now this show is even more appealing. Oh please let there be a pig.

I'll watch, I'm sure. I'm doing every other Friday on Robo, so I'm not sure about recapping, but if I like it (I'm sure I will) I could serve as a backup.
 

I am a huge fan of Arturo Peniche. Let's just hope it doesn't get stupid like PEAM. I had to quit watching.
 

I'll return for this one. I haven't gotten into anything since Por Eiia Soy Eva ended. Jaime, don't fail me, flaco.

PEAM was just ridiculous. The situations were poorly executed and they weren't funny. Plus, the extension killed the novela as it was shifting from comedy to drama.
 

Normally, I absolutely DESPISE Rosy Ocampo and pretty much everything that she has ever done (FWIW, I appreciate the darker novelas, and Ms. Ocampo is just too PRECIOUS for me! Her comedies have the effect on me that a cheese grater would on a nice, fresh mozzarella.... ), but even I have to admit that she's got a kick-ass line-up for this one...

I'm loving the ascendancy of Ingrid Martz- who DIDN'T want to slap the SH*T out of her recent Doris? And, wasn't that the exact response she was supposed to elicit out of we, the viewers?? After a whole bunch of supporting roles, I think she's proven that a) her comedic talent is top notch, and b) she's more than capable of holding her own against anybody. To pair her with Raquel Pankowsky as her equally amoral and money grubbing mother is a stroke of genius.

As well, is anybody else RELISHING the return of Sylvia Pasquel to the world of Telenovelas?? The woman (winner of the first telenovela award for favorite villain (in 1983, 'Mejor Actriz Antagonica' for her role in 'El Amor Nunca Muere', and daughter of Luis Bunuel favorite Sylvia Pinal as well as half-sister of Rocio Banquells) is absolutely BRILLIANT at everything she touches, ESPECIALLY things with an element of comedy to them. Her Isaura in "Amarte Es Mi Pecado" remains (I think) one of the most memorable villains- and CHARACTERS- ever (she with the permanently lipstick-stained teeth and absolute moral VACUITY!!!).

In fact, the cast of this telenovela could be said to be something of an "Amarte Es Mi Pecado" reunion, at least on the ladies side- in addition to La Pasqual, we have Ingrid Martz, and the terrific Tiare Scanda (anybody know if Margarita Isabel is available???).

I don't know if any of you may share the same feelings but, to me, the scenes between La Isabel's Alejandra, La Scanda's poor, hideous, broken Casilda, and La Pasqual's mephisophelian Isaura (coupled with Yadhira Carillo's Leonora) in 'AEMP' were some of the funniest, most 'perfect' examples of comedy working- even in the throes of tragedy- that I've ever been lucky to bear witness to in Telenovelas...
But enough of my ranting! Best wishes to everybody, and best wishes to 'Que Pobres Tan Ricos'!!! :-)

Arturo Peniche, Mark Tacher, Zuria Vega... Nuff said!! I'm IN!!! SO if you all need recapper, just say the weekday and I will be there!
 

oops! forgot to include Jaime Camil in my list of 'Nuff said!'. I'm in 1000%!! don't care if the comedy is up there but i will watch pretty much anything with those guys/gal on screen. And yes, Sylvia Pasquel, i am sure she will do better than Daniela Castro.
 

Marta-Woot! I'm glad to hear you want to recap this one! One of the problems I have with the comedies is that the Spanish is so much harder for me to understand. They talk so fast and of course I miss a lot of the play on words. I'm glad I'll have your detailed recaps. I really really want to follow this one and like others it's the cast that is what I am most drawn to.
 

sorry, one thing. i won't be able to do recaps wed nights so I would prefer tues or thurs night. taking a class for about 10 wks wednesday nights.

I know I said I'd take Friday, but there was a change in plans (which I should have posted sooner): Mads and I will be splitting Monday nights. That is the one thing that actually works better for me than Friday nights.
