Madelaine, thanks for the recap. I was surprised that the stinky suit was retired in such a low-key fashion. MA took Saul's offerings without a comment.

Where is DaVinci? I thought he was just going for spa time. Now it seems to me AS has warehoused him because she couldn't be bothered. OK, now I REALLY don't like her.

Madelaine, thanks for the snappy recap.

AS continues to be the show stealer for me. Loved her sitting next to a statue of Don Quixote at her suite at the Three Seasons 5 star hotel. Guess she is just like him living in her fantasy world. I just wish DaVinci was with her but maybe he is making off better in the puppy spa.

Don Chuy and MA were so funny signing the agreement in 1-2-3 unison.

Loved the Board of Directors telling Alejo the baby had to be born to fulfill the condition of the presidency.

Nice to see MA in clean clothes.

Thanks for the recap!

I think AS is one of the funniest characters in this TN, but it bugs me how self centered she can be at times. She feels no remorse about stealing that money and she's spending like she is rich again.

Yay! We can now rejoice that MA has at least one more change of clothes. The Menchacas should have a party just for that. CorgiMom- I think MA’s comment upon being handed the bags of clothes by Saul was to sniff himself, and I don’t think her liked what he smelled. Just think how others must feel! I can’t believe Lupe and Guendy are attracted to his stinky self.

Emi has been asking to move out of sharing the same bedroom with his mom, to instead share with his uncle Tizok for many episodes now. Lupe really should have moved to do it right away when he asked. He’s growing up, and as a preteen, he doesn’t want to share a room with his mom. She also needs to figure out what she wants to tell him about his bio-dad, and get it over with, ASAP. It’s obvious this is really bugging Emi, and that he’s crying out for a male role model—beyond his grandpa and uncle.

AS is a piece of work. As much as I hate that she stole from the Menchacas, I was hoping she would succeed in swindling her “friends.” It would not only serve them right, but might also result in actual jail time for AS (wouldn’t that be hilarious). Because, unlike the kind Menchacas, they wouldn’t hesitate to throw her in jail for theft and fraud.

 

Thank God for this site. For some reason on my channel last night Pobres was all sound in and out and a pixilated picture so I had to guess what was going on half the time. MA and his fixation on the Menchaca Million truly bugs me. He has a lot of AS's selfish traits in him.

Saul must have gotten sick of him in that filthy jacket and took it on himself to buy the new duds for which he got no thanks. He is smart enough to realize if MA is going to palm himself off as a lawyer he better look and smell the part.

I think that swank hotel has special VIP quarters for pets, lots of high end places do but I miss Da Vinci and his hip wardrobe too.

I am heartily sick of of the dim brained RP's. They've had days to gussy up the VIP shack, chairs they could sleep on, and stuff to put on the floor bur no they prefer to bitch and whine. Am coming to seriously dislike them. Loved how Mati gets a room of her own.

I found it interesting how Saul and Tomas sat down and drew up an agreement to get a truce between the Montegues and Capulets. I also liked that he showed the boy some respect as a peer and not as some naco nobody.

Is it just me or is this thing just crawling at a snails pace?

I thought it was hilarious how AS called her "friends" vipers because they wouldn't let her swindle them. Projecting, AS?

Now that Frida is sharing the penthouse and they've worked out an official agreement, it looks like they are finally going to try to make the place more habitable. She was waxing poetic about her old sheets...maybe she'll actually look through the boxes and find those sheets! And in the preview it looked like MA had a pillow finally.

I'm glad Emi has at least one friend at school who has some sense and manners. Lupe does need to start giving him some answers, though. Even if it's just to tell him "your father is a nasty awful dude and I want to keep you away from him to keep you safe", that would be more satisfying than just "ummmm...I'll talk to you about that later".

Decie, this is sooooooo ssssslllllooooowwww. It's funny, so I still enjoy it, but we aren't getting much plot progress.

Does anyone know why Saul and MA always switch identities when they go to a meeting? It's funny, but it's weird.

I too wondered where Da Vinci is. I think he is being housed in the pet part of the hotel. MA at least could have thanked Saul for getting him those new clothes.

I agree with you about Emiliano moving in with Tizoc. Emiliano does need a good male influence and I think MA really likes Emiliano. I do like Emi's relationship with Granny. They are so cute together. I was hoping that AS would be successful at swindling her former friends too. She needs a comeuppance for sure.

Yes, it is going at a snail's pace, but I do like the little bits and pieces they are throwing in along the way. Like the Grandfather Clause again. Saul is interesting isn't he? He is more on the Menchaca side than the RP side to me. He is constantly sticking up for them. I like how he is always reminding MA that what he is trying to do is wrong, as far as swindling the Menchacas. Now last night MA finally realized that dream may be dead.

I so agree about Emi and his friend, and Lupe does need to give Emi some answers. I think the only reason Lupe hasn't told him who his Papa is, is cause Ahole is a piece of work. I don't know precisely why Saul and MA change identities except I think that if Mr. Trejo was ever visited by the cops or the secretary for that matter, they would give the cops a description of Saul being MA. Now that Mr. Trejo is dead, it doesn't matter. I think MA thinks it affords him some protection maybe.
 

I actually like that senior member of the board. I like how he is always sticking it to Ahole. That Grandfather clause will be a constant pain in Ahole's side.

I like Mini's determination. She really believes MA has been set up, she can't stand Ahole anymore, so maybe she will be the catalyst that starts the ball rolling for MA's innocence. Isela, is really dumb though. I think she knows that Ahole swindled the RP's, so she isn't covering/hedging all her bets. She is sticking with Ahole, which is a big mistake.

 

Thanks, Madelaine. I don't know how you managed to write this recap... I couldn't even watch the episode last night in one sitting. I had to keep hitting PAUSE to catch my breath from laughing, and replay scenes that were TOO funny.

Vivi, I was right there with you hoping that AS would successfully swindle her ex-friends. I thought she might even go back to La Nopalera with a big profit. (I know... it's hoping too much for her to pay back what she stole so soon, but I thought it would be nice if she could at least break even.)

And if that didn't work out, jail would be fun too. It's not like they'd be sending her to Topo Chico for YooHoo swirlies with Vero from PEAM.

And I KNEW she was going to try to guilt her ex-friends about the donated clothes. I thought for sure that would work. Those women really are a bunch of vipers... funny how AS doesn't see any of herself in them.

Ahole at the board meeting... lol. How could he seriously think they would say yes to him? They don't even know if it's a boy yet.

I think AS handed off DaVinci not because she didn't want him with her, but because the hotel doesn't allow dogs in the rooms. Whatever, I hope he picks up some bad habits from the other dogs.

I think the reason Saul and MA switch identities every time they visited the property developer was because they thought it would be a bad idea to use MA's name with MA's face; but one of them had to be an RP to justify their interest in the property. At least that's what I got or extrapolated from the initial conversation about it many weeks ago. It's extremely silly.

In between laughing at AS last night and cheering for MA's new clothes, I kept hoping that it would also be the night that Mini would tell her mom to get a life and find her own sugar daddy. But I'm probably gonna have to wait a lot longer for that big breakthrough.
 

Thanks, Madelaine. You covered the bases for us in fine style. This is moving slowly, but with such a large cast, it takes lots of time to cover all the bits of funny business. The RPs don't have a clue about fixing the penthouse. I guess they always just gave orders to get something done.
Shame on you, Ana Sofia! Share the misery with your family, please.

 

I liked how Frida was trying to pep-talk herself..."I am resilient and adaptable; I will be fine in the shed..." I hope she now actually figures out how to improve her life. Maybe Tizoc could help? They're so cute together.

We still don't know where Chuy is sleeping, I don't think. I think if Emiliano moved in with Tizoc, Mati and Lupita would be happy enough sharing a room. Then Don Chuy could have his room back. Or Lupita and Perla could share and Mati could have her own room. Certainly she is the only one of the RPs deserving such consideration. If not for that old friendship and how much he likes her, I think Chuy might be perfectly happy to throw the rest of them out on the street by now.
 

What I am really enjoying about this show is that it knows what it is: a comedy and sticks to it.

Poor AS. Her fund raising scheme was a good idea and was a lot of fun as the suffering she described was illustrated with earlier scenes of the family. Too bad it was a bust. Oh well, at least she's in a familiar element... for the moment. Too bad she wasn't more patient with Minnie... she could be a real help.

Thank goodness for the fresh clothing.

Don't want to get on the soapbox here, but I will :)

Most really fine hotels (at least in the US) allow dogs and in fact have special perks for them. Someone paying for the presidential suite almost for sure would be allowed such a small pet.

If the hotel balked at DaVinci staying in the room, AS seems very capable of running roughshod over the hotel staff like she did at the clothing boutique about the check.

If the hotel still refused to accommodate DaVinci, she could have gone elsewhere.

And finally, if she knew it was going to be a problem, she should have left DaVinci with Leo.

Let's face it. She is an indifferent mother as much to DaVinci as she is to all her children.

OK, Barbara - I hadn't thought of that. Of course AS can have her little doggie in her room - especially since she paid a big cash deposit. But then she'd have to feed him and pick up his poops. (Say, who was taking care of that before the big poop incident a few weeks ago? Was Leo walking him or something? Is DaVinci toilet-trained?)

I suppose it's more fun for AS to play the doting dog-mommy when she has an audience. In private, what's the point?

I would say yes, he is an accessory - except she didn't even bring him to that fund-raiser last night, did she?

But if we want to give her the benefit of the doubt, we could say that she really believes that the spa is as much of a treat for him as the suite is for her.
