Caray, Caray!

The fact that Natalia and Diego just met yesterday make it easy for Rodrigo to pretend to be his brother, though she does notice the difference in kisses.  She just thinks he's being silly.  When Diego catches up to her later, he doesn't explain being on a bicycle or wearing a different shirt.  He's just glad to find her alone, so he turns back around to go confront Rodrigo.  Rodrigo keeps insisting on playing his little sicko twin game and wants to "share" Natalia.  Diego decides to enlist the help of the Bro Boys to lock Rodrigo in the room while he's taking a shower.  He's ultimately released by Diego's not-girlfriend and her friend who have shown up to crash Diego's vacation. 

Due to a wardrobe malfunction (Carmen's zipper ripped), most of the family is late getting to the coronation.  Just as they're about to arrive, Carmen gets into a hair-pulling match with two older broads who accuse her of canoodling with Padre Juancho and she gets hauled off to the police station.  Natalia can't get them to delay the coronation any longer, so she gets crowned in all her hot pink, ruffly, sparkly glory.  Diego shows up to claim the first dance with her AND the answer to his question from the night before…Natalia has decided she'll be his girlfriend.  In-conveniently, Rodrigo shows up wearing the same white shirt Diego is wearing, and he's got Diana the stereotype and her BFF in tow.

One of the Bro Boys drags Diego away to deal with Diana  ("But I luuuuurve you!"  "But we're not together, so go away!") and this leaves an opening for Rodrigo to lure Natalia away from the crowd.  She's not a fan of being treated like a piece of meat and fights him off, but he catches up to her.  Andres hears the screams and shows up to vent all his "But I luuuuuuurve you!" frustration on Rodrigo.  It's less his pugilistic skills and more a well- (or badly-)placed branch that kills him.  Goodbye, Rodrigo.   We hardly knew ye and we liked ye even less.  Natalia and Andres freak right the heck out and decide to make a run for it.

Carmen might have gotten released right away by the police chief…if he hadn't said "That's what EVERYONE is saying"…and if he hadn't been close enough for Carmen to reach through the bars to slap him.  She eventually gets released when the two old biddies drop charges, though she refuses to apologize to them.

Diego can't find either Natalia or Rodrigo, but he feels a disturbance in the force and gets the Bro Boys to help with his search.  When the Garcias show up, Carmen is the only one concerned about not seeing Natalia, while Brigitte leads the charge to the dance floor.

Andres deals with his post-accidental-murder-guilt by doing tequila shots and signing up to ship out with the crew of a guy who bought fish from him that morning.

Carmen goes home to find a weeping Natalia, who tells her that Diego tried to rape her and Andres killed him.  She calms down enough to give Carmen the details and explain that Andres didn't kill him on purpose.  Carmen's advice: run.  She goes to call Padre Juancho to prepare him for Natalia's arrival.  Andres pops in to let Carmen and Natalia know that he's shipping out in the morning.  Carmen and Natalia both thank him for defending Natalia.

Diego and the Bro Boys find Rodrigo out in the woods with a gaping head wound.  They load him up in the car and go looking for a hospital, but a friendly local tells them the closest one is two hours away.  Rodrigo's still hanging on and the hospital they found doesn't have the capacity to treat him.  One of the Bro Boys calls for an airlift out.

Natalia leaves on the first bus out in the morning, with only her mom and one of her brothers to see her off.  Carmen refuses to tell him why Natalia's leaving like this, but he can tell something's up.  When Natalia arrives at Padre Juancho's new place (which looks like an exact replica of his old place), she tells him what happened.  She admits, though, that she can't be sure he's dead, but they ran to avoid what they were sure would be an unfair police investigation.  Carmen's godmother (who is apparently also Natalia's godmother) ended up caving in to her son, so she's also in the DF.  She stops by Padre Juancho's when she hears that Natalia is in town.

In the hospital waiting room in DF, we find out that Rodrigo and Diego's grandpa is a classist jerk who basically thinks something bad was bound to happen in a backwater like Tuxpan, with the savages who must live there.  The doctor doesn't have good news for them.

Diego goes to the police station to give a statement, with grumpy grandpa Vicente backing him up and demanding justice "at any cost."  Back at what I assume are the offices of the family business empire, Vicente forbids Diego from going back to Tuxpan to conduct his own investigation.  Grandpa won't listen when Diego tells him Rodrigo was perfectly capable of getting into trouble on his own and grandpa can't hold Diego responsible for Rodrigo's behavior.  Diego calls the house in Tuxpan and asks the maid to track down Natalia.

Tomorrow: Diana makes her own call to Tuxpan to try to keep Diego and that filthy townie apart.
