De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero 6/6/14 #84 and #85 (Or something like that): The Extrapolation Edition

De que hay tsuris, hay tsuris.

Why do I get the heartbreaking episodes?

This is going to be short. I was having attention issues. There was much extrapolation on my part. Feel free to add more details (corrections really in the comments.

Tonight's Cast:
Al=Alonso
Brat=Brigitte
El=Eleazar
Grumps=Vicente
Jean Marie=The fashion show organizer that works with Irene to plan shoots and shows for Eskenda
Mr. T=Tiburcio
Mrs. T=Mrs. Tiburcio
Nat=Natalia
PJ=Papá Juancho
Rod=Rodrigo
Tad=Tadeo

The lady at the orphanage tells Irene that of the 6 children that came to the facility that year, only one was a girl. True to TN form there was a fire 17 years ago and records are no more. Irene flips. Tad calms her down so the director can tell her to come back with a court order.

Mr. T is in bad shape. He can't talk or move. Even after a lot of therapy, he will only recover a minimum of his previous abilities.

Brat comes in late for work and takes offense when Nat reminds her about professionalism.

Grumps is thoughtbubbling in his office--Nat is NOT a Cáceres. Nat comes in with some papers and asks about Irene. Grumps plays dumb about Irene's whereabouts and the reason for the trip.

Mrs. T is with Mr. T in the hospital. She tells him how bad she feels about what a shrew she was him. He moves his hand.

Irma sees Rod at the airport, but even running to the ladies room doesn't save her. He catches up with her there and drags her to a stall. It sounds like he punches her. In the next scene, she's knocked out in his car.

Tad proposes and Irene says yes. QTH? Tad has some lines about the practicality of getting married and knowing she doesn't feel the same? Was there no nookie talk or am I extrapolating too much? I really wasn't feeling it tonight....Oh, a call from Al interrupted that conversation. He wants to help Irene find her daughter, too.

Paolo escorts Mara to school and they kiss. Mom skulks in the background.

Irma is now bound in a bed. Rod wants to know how to prepare the drug for Diego(?) He threatens to inject her with poison. She begs for her life and agrees to tell him and not to try to escape again. Rod takes her money and passport for good measure. Rod=psychopath.

Abdul talks to la Jaiba until Carmen comes along and emasculates him. I don't like La Jaiba, but poor guy.

Paolo and Mara discuss her finished la Prepa and Mom stomps up. She tries to drag Mara away and Mara refuses. When her mother tries to strike Mara, Paolo steps in to defend her.

Irma returns to the house.

Carmen and Abdul have a fight. The recapper daydreams and misses it.

Rod doodles and frets about the sudden appearance of another Caceres heir (Irene's daughter.) Nat comes in and wants his help making decisions about the catalog.

Irma goes to see Grumps. She will take over the care of "Rodrigo" and the other nurse will take care of Mr. T. Grumps tells Irma what a loyal employee Mr. T was. The least Grumps can do is provide care for such a good and faithful employee. Puke. Mentally, Grumps is rubbing his hands together. With Mr. T out of commission and a nurse to take care of him, there's little chance the truth will come out about Nat.

Mara's mom has talked to some other priest about the impropriety of Mara staying with PJ at the parroquia.

Turns out Rod had taken Irma to Brat's apartment. She notices the mussed covers AND the perfume on the pillow. She is all kinds of sour puss and slaps Rod when he comes in. She threatens to tell Nat about Rod's indiscretions. She gets kicked out on her keister with a reminder the apartment is actually Rod's. She begs to be let back in.

Irene goes to the hospital to see Mr. T. She is informed that his condition hasn't changed. She gets permission to visit (since his visitors are restricted.) She begs Mr. T to tell her where her daughter is. All he can do is groan. It was a really painful scene.

Whiplash edit and now Irene is visiting Rod and Nat at Caprico/Eskenda. She asks them to be the witnesses at her civil marriage that afternoon. The agree but after Rod leaves, Nat asks Irene if she's sure. Irene tells Nat she knows what she's doing. As soon as Irene is gone, Nat calls Alonso and tells him about Irene's plans. He asks her to stall and she says she'll try, but he needs to hurry.

Tad hires a P.I.

At the registro civil, Nat tries to stall but she really is not a smooth operator. First she latches on to the judge's being a fan of Tad. She tries to get them involved in small talk, but the judge has another ceremony that day and hurries them along. Brat calls and Nat takes the call. Brat sort of freaked when Nat heard where she was. Ha! Nat tells Brat what's going on. Brat makes a witchy comment about Irene's fickle nature and supposed "love" for Al. They hang up and Nat calls Alonso. He's still in traffic. Nat is forced to fake a faint.

Irma talks to Diego. She has to get out of this mess!

Nat played the faint card as long as she could, but the judge is moving on. Alonso is lost. He stops to ask directions. There is some traffic/roadwork issue that will keep him from taking the most direct route. Meanwhile, Irene is handed the pen to sign the certificate. She hesitates aaaannnddd.....signs. Alonso is no longer in his car. Now he's on foot. Nat has to sign....COMMERCIAL!!!

Tad and Irene are married. Alonslow runs up. Irene looks almost grief-stricken. Happy wedding day!! Alonso wishes her well. She asks him to let her just remember the good parts of what they had (or some such. I can't remember now.) Rod drags him away and tells him to get a grip. Al cries and Rod has lines.

Nat apologizes to Irene for telling Alonso. Tad wants everyone to go out for a celebratory mean. Nat makes excuses. Something about the photo shoot.

Brat is at said photo shoot and reports Irene's marriage to Karina. Karin is beyond thrilled that her Muñe is free.

Rod and Brat have some little secret conversation and giggle as Nat walks up. I'm sure they made some excuse. Rod has some lines and Nat goes off to model. Rod thought bubbles that Nat is costing him dearly and she better be worth it.

Tad is bothered that Nat tried to stop the wedding. It feels like she is rejecting him.

Mrs. T tells Mr. T to blink once for "yes" and twice for "no." They practice until the doctor comes to examine Mr. T.

Photoshoot. Lines. Brat trips.

Mr. T is going to be released tomorrow. He will need lots of care. Luckily Grumps has that nurse arrangement.

Mara and PJ still discuss whatever gossip her mother ran to the other priest with. Gino has offered Mara work. Mara thinks she's causing trouble for PJ.

Alonso comes to see El. Lady woes convo. The PI shows up and El excuses himself. Al wants to hire the PI, too.

Mrs. T thinks Grumps forgot his promise to take care of Mr. T. Grumps calls the other nurse and Mrs. T is satisfied Grumps is holding up his end of the deal.

Rod drops off Nat at Tad and Irene's for a play date. No, Nat is bringing them her wedding present. (It's a blender. A little lame in my opinion, but it's the thought that counts.)

The P.I. plans to play Alonso and take his money. They exchange cards. PI calls Grumps ASAP. Grumps tells him that whatever he finds, he's to report it to GRUMPS first. Not Tad. Not Alonso. Rod overhears this conversation and Viewerville is subjected to another scene in which Grumps plays the pity card. He wants Irene to forgive him. He wants to return her child to her. Puke. Rod doesn't believe a word. Grumps asks Rod not to talk to Nat about it.

Tad, Irene, Nat and dinner. Small talk.

Alonso pouts. Karina sends an instant message to "Alondra" offering to be there for him. He responds: I don't know how you found out about it, but I don't need your help. Nice try. And BTW, Alondra is corny.

Rod calls the PI. Rod hires the PI. Oh for heavens sake.

Grumps thought bubbles.

Kimberly uses the excuse of not having water at her apt so she can use El's shower. She calls her mom's hair and tells her she's digging in and ain't moving. El is hers and she's not leaving his apartment.

Carmen. Derriere. Gino. Sartenazo. Stars. Not funny.

Irene, Nat and Jean Marie look over the photos from the shoot. Jean Marie offers Nat a modeling job and she insists she's no model. She'll stick with clothes, design and sewing. Brat comes in whining about some model talking about her tripping and almost falling at the shoot. Apparently it's all over the social network. Nat tells Jean Marie that Brat is the model, he should offer the job to her. Jean Marie explains it was on offer ONLY for Nat. I'm sure Brat took that well.

Mr. T is home.

PI and Rod. I think Rod is the highest bidder.

Grumps comes to the Eskenda side. Brat tells him about Irene's marriage and makes some commentary about changing shoes and being fickle. Seriously. Diana was just a shadow of a villain compared to this little chit with a sense of entitlement the size of Popocatepetl.

Mara's mom talks to the other priest about PJ and Mara. Definitely need some fill in here.

The new nurse tells Mr. T what a generous man Grumps is. Mr T blinks "no." Mrs. T just thinks he forgot the code. Lala brings a big chart of the alphabet. The will point to letters and Mr. T can blink "yes" or "no."

Irene and Nat inspect the goods. The factory owner says there is a small problem with the machines. Irene tells him to get it fixed. This is the Rod/Dude/Embezzlement/Bleed the coffers dry plan I assume.

Carmen and Mr. Green Gino. A Chinese man (Lu Chong by name...just like AC? Really?)runs up to Gino. Gino acts like he doesn't now him.

Now we know why there are 186 episodes. It will take forever for Mr. T and the Mrs. T will work out a message. Irene finds out Mr. T is home. She and Nat go to his room and he flips. Again. It's just painful to watch.

Avances
  • It's Nat's wedding day!
  • Nat catches Rod coming out of Diego's room.
  • Reveal?

Comments:
I'm feeling cranky. I am so tired of these two hour episodes that we don't even get to see EVERYTHING.

Sara, thanks for the recap and I so feel you. After watching this I was in a completely cranky mood. Between the edits, the redundancy, and the plagues of evil harming anyone who gets in their way (Rod and Grumps) we just need something good to happen now.

ITA w/you about the Brat. She's a piece of work. At this point, she's not getting redeemed anytime soon.

My other concern is that when we go back to 1 hour episodes, they'll still be cut. I hope I'm wrong but I don't trust Uni.

I did enjoy Marcelo pulling his offer for a model from the Brat.

Kat, just a reminder that for the next 3 Wednesdays I'm out of town and can't recap.

Well Univision gave episodes 98, 99 and 100 today. How many are there in total?

Marcelo! That's his name! Thanks, Karen. We need to see more of him.

Angie- I think there are 186 in total. You can bet that when we go back to hour episodes we will be getting at least two episodes in one so they can get through with it faster. It's really sad because this is a good show and I'm sure the stuff they are cutting would be fun to watch.

Thanks for your recap Sara.

I am so tired of Irene's tears!!! She makes me think of Adela Noriega...she's another crier!!!

The more I see of Alonso, the more I think Tadeo is a better match for Irene.

But poor Alonso, I feel sorry for him once Karina gets her hold on him.

Ann-NYC

I'm giving Irene a pass just because of the storyline BUT she has got to calm down when she talks to Mr. T. She is going to kill him.

I laughed when Brat prattled on about Irene to Grumps and he clapped back with how stupid her statements were, then looked her up & down and said something to the effect of, "but look at who the statement us coming from".

Oh yes Anon207 Grumps totally has Brat's number!

Tks Sara, I feel your pain

Is everyone using the same PI?
Grumps, Alonso, Rod, Tad?

Yup. They all are. I assume the PI is loyal and up front with the man who pays the most.

Sara, my heartfelt condolences for having to recap such an achingly depressing episode. That said, you did an amazing job. Thank you for your care and consideration.

"Carmen and Abdul have a fight. The recapper daydreams and misses it" and "Rod drops off Nat at Tad and Irene's for a play date" were a few of my many favorites.

I have to start by saying that the scene where Rod threatened to inject the begging, pleading Irma was horrid. I started crying and had to leave the room. There have been so many cringeworthy scenes in these TNS (especially over the last year), but this resonated as pure evil with me. I hope God will have mercy on Rod's soul, because I will surely not.

"Was there no nookie talk or am I extrapolating too much?" Oh Sara, it was beyond sad. There was no joy, no happiness! It wasn't even a dry business deal, it was more akin to a funeral. Karen, what a shame this wasn't the joyous occasion it could and should have been.

Beyond the somber atmosphere, Nat did indeed try to stop it which was of course noted by Tadeo. Here her parents are getting married and her primary concern in notifying Al (I mean, not that she knows they are her parents, grumble, grumble). I'm sorry but there is no competition - Tad is far superior in every way (as you noted Ann, great to see your comment). Al's arrival and tears just annoyed me - no pity. He lost any sympathy the minute he slept with Karina.

Yes, Irene must ratched down her hysteria. She may inadvertently cause Mr. T's death and that would be devastating.

So, it appears Nat finally learns there is a Rodrigo. But will it be in time to stop the wedding??

Sara, thank you for your excellent summary despite the dreary events.

Diana

Thanks Diana. I did not pay close attention at all last night but the proposal/wedding were just so... Businesslike.

Well, cranky or not, daydreaming or not, you produced a well crafted recap, Sara. Thank you.

So, Mrs. T's comment about Irma going to Miami served to let Rod know that a)she was at the airport, and b)what area to look for her.

I thought you were wrong to label Rod a psychopath, but I looked it up, and sociopaths tend to spontaneous unplanned things and are fringe elements of society, while psychopaths can seem normal, have relationships and hold jobs, and plan in-depth crimes. So you were correct.

What will Grumps do when he sees the alphabet in Mr. T's room? I suggest they say its a modern art piece and deny it has anything to do with communication.

Irene and Tad: THAT was a wedding? Jeez. . .
No nooky talk, indeed. I'm glad Nat didn't loose her friend status with Tad and Irene because of her call to Al.

How likely is it that all parties would hire the same PI? Why did Grumps have to hire him in the first place? I thought Mr. T told him exactly what happened. This guy is earning more money per hour than anyone in the history of private investigators.

Thanks again, Sara.

David

Gracias, Sara! This was indeed, a dud of an episode. "Carmen and Abdul have a fight. The recapper daydreams and misses it." Totally with you on that!

Tad's proposal really was more like a business transaction. "Marry me. You'll have security and respect and safety." So, I guess the blender was a gift truly worthy of the event! As unromantic a proposal as it was I actually thought to myself that it was still better than what Carmen & Gino and Eleazar & Kim are doing.

Karen--The 11th, 18th, and 25th? Got it!

I feel #blessed to have not had to recap any of the El and Kim and Carmen and Gino business.

David-whew! Glad I was right! I really just threw the word out there not really knowing its nuances.

Did grumps really hire the PI, or is he just interfering with the investigation? Somebody fill me in. I don't see why he would need to hire him, either. He knows everything already.

Sara- Having read your recap, I am glad I haven't seen the episode. From the preview yesterday, Grumps purposely hires Irene's P.I. in order to keep him from giving Irene and Tad any correct information. He already knows what happened and where the daughter is. He's just staying a step ahead to keep Irene from learning the truth. I'm guessing Rod also purposely hired the same P.I. for much the same purpose-- to find (and get rid of) the heir, and to prevent anyone else from finding her.

Ugh. Rod and Grumps are just disgusting.

If I understand the PI situation, Tad found him first (no idea how, since I don't remember seeing an actual conversation) and hired him. According to Grumps, the PI came to him to question him because his name came up when talking to Tad/Irene as the person with the most information (which he mentioned when Rodrigo confronted him about hiring the PI). Then Alonso hired him (confidentiality violation!) on Eleazar's recommendation, because according to El he's supposed to be "the best." And Rod got to him by getting his name from Grumps.

So it's really just the 1 coincidence of Tad and Alonso hiring the same guy. Which doesn't make it any less eye-roll-inducing.

Ok. Thanks, Kat. I missed the whole second hour Thursday.

Lol...we're all answering the same question at the same time.

Because "Why did they all hire the same PI" is WAY easier to answer than all the other questions raised by this show!

Also, am I imagining it, or have they been showing us things in the previews that they're cutting out of the actual episode? Like Vivi mentioned--Grumps hiring the PI to keep ahead of Tad and Irene. I don't remember seeing that IN the show, only hearing about it. And Tiburcio telling PJ that Natalia is Irene's daughter--I remember seeing that in the previews, but it definitely wasn't in the episode.

I think they are!!!

I swear seeing an avance once where Nat heard about a twin or something (I even put it in my recap) and then nothing. Or that may have been the day I was dropping acid.

And it wasn't the same acid the editors dropped!

Natalia really annoyed me. First, for being a chismosa and calling Alfonso and then by futilely "fainting" to try to stall. Whatever she thinks Irene feels for him, IT IS NONE OF HER BUSINESS!!

Brigitte cracks me up with her desperation - both to be "top model" and to hook "Diego." Does she really see a future for herself with him? He's only told her to her face a thousand times that he's just using her for sex! What a maroon!

Anon2:12-I felt a little like that, too. Irene's life is none of Nat's business. Has Nat already forgotten that ALONSO is the reason Irene fell off the wagon? ALONSO cheated.

Brat's going to go down in a flaming hot mess. I plan to make popcorn and enjoy every minute.

ANd so help me if Uni edits anvils I'm going to scream.

The proposal/marriage were indeed lack-luster and the saddest part is that at this point in the tn, Tad is a much better man than Al.

What made me more cranky this epiosde was how Rod told Al Irene didn't love him because if she loved him she would forgive his cheating. I don't know if that was to allude to his/Diego's relationship to Nat but it was sickening.

Thanks to all for clarify the PI muddle.

It's definitely not the first time that Uni has shown previews of scenes that they later just completely cut from a tn they are "artfully" editing. So we should pay attention to the previews too.

Sara...You are a sport to recap this hot mess. Yikes, where did these storyline come from ?

Was I imagining it, or did El hug the PI when the PI came to El's office to meet Aloser? It seemed as if he and El were buds. Also, what is up with people barging into El's office AT THE POLICE STATION with all their stupid petty problems ?

And wow... Where did the wedding come from ? I never heard any mention of Irene and Tad getting married...and ..why did they ?

Also, I thought that Rotten Rodiego DID inject Irma.

My favorite part of the episode was Brat having a Hissyfit at Rod and getting locked out. HA You are going to get nothing from this guy except possibly a STD. Enjoy.

Watching the scenes of the perpetually terrified T and listening to him moan and groan is upsetting.

My wish is to see Krazy Karina rope and hogtie Aloser.

"You are going to get nothing from this guy except possibly a STD. Enjoy."

Hilarious!

I also love the Aloser nickname.

Damn been traveling and missed two nights and all hell broke loose so thanks Sara and chorus.

Susanlynn what a hoot Aloser.

Two things make me angrier than most. Aloser thinking it is any of his business and hiring a PI and Nat trying to squirrel a wedding between two consenting adults.

I'm kinda happy the right couples are pairing off one by one. Ah, love is in the air.

Irene & Tad - the artist & his muse and parents to boot

Aloser & Karina - ain't jr high romance a roller coaster ride

El & Kim - though Kim ain't much she is all in

Gino & Carmen - Mafia ties should thwart the next dozen suitors

Rod & Nat & Brigitte - the Madonna & the Whore, throw in mud wrestling and take a front row seat

I have real honest to goodness hopes for Abdul & Angelea

tofie..I am glad that you liked my nickname for that weepy loser. I need KraKra to pin him now,

Loved your list.

El & Kim - though Kim ain't much she is all in

Completely and utterly ALL IN THE WAY!

KraKra is excellent how you come up with these? Aloser & KraKra perfect for each other

Sara, clever, very clever and well played

On the topic of drinking as coping...I'm watching Thor for the millionth time. Selvig just busted Thor out and what do they do...go get drunk!

I bet Thor is a better looking drunk than this bunch...though Big Al is pretty cute.

He's certainly a livelier drunk! Hmmm...big Al in a Thor costume...that's not a bad mental image!

I have tried to watch the movie Thor several times because I like the actor, but I just cannot get into the story. Big Al does have a Thor vibe.

I find it confusing that this story is on one hand about a woman trying to deal with the serious problem of alcoholism, and on the other hand, a bunch of frat brothers who do a lot of recreational drinking or drinking when they are frustrated in love. Que...pick onepproach to the subject.

It's a saga of a bunch of frat boys, the sequel to Animal House (and I include Diego equally).

Irene just happens to be a hot broken older woman used and passed on for everyone's amusement.

Nat, a naive, impressionable, not so bright, country bumpkin minus the daisy dukes is presentable in polite society.

Brigitte, a naive, impressionable, not so bright, country bumpkin willing to drop her daisy dukes and use her assets for advantage.

That pretty up much sums this show up, tofie.

I second Susanlynn! You've hit the nail on the head, tofie!

"... willing to drop her daisy dukes... "

You are pure gold!

Lol, tofie! Grumps is the Dean.

lawdy, Dean Grumps Wormer how appropriate. Hopefully soon Grumps will be worm food.

Grumps voice and even his face reminds me of the head ape Thade in the 2001 movie version of The Planet of the Apes.

OMG! He does resemble Thade!

that's where I've seen em
