Que Pobres Tan Ricos #108: 6/5/14: Jive Talkin'
Hola Amiguis! We have Mini hauling off MA, Ahole invading La Nopalera, with Vilma and Beto, so what else can happen? Well, read on and discover what else happened during this episode! Shall we start with an earworm? It applies to Ahole, especially! Jive Talkin'!
We start with Frida and Tizoc and how they are glad they are there for each other, and they decide to continue their relationship, as long as they keep it on the down low, cause neither of their familia's can find out. It would so not be good for either of them and besos!
Mini shoves MA into the back of her vehicle and makes sure he's in there safe and sound, while she says now MA is in my hands, Bwwhaaaa!
Dona Mati, Frida, AS and Leo are together and AS is whining and guzzling as usual from her never empty flask of hooch. AS needs some type of ray of hope. AS feels it's like the end of the world, the apocolypse! Dona Mati gives AS the bidnez and tells AS, that she is basically a sniveling, whiner, want some cheese with that wine, well not that, but AS isn't grateful for anything. Oh, and AS is acting like a bebe, and uses religion not as one who is faithful, but as one that uses it when it's convenient. AS claims she is a aristocat, er, aristocrat!
Mini is driving the vehicle and tells MA the cops have now gone. MA is witching about her driving and where are they going? She tells him to stop having hysterics and to stop yelling and to er, um, trust her! Yeah, that's the ticket! We'll get back to them in a tic.
At the Fonda, Perla is helping serve and she's so not into it. Carmelita gives her a pep talk and Guendy comes. Guendy has come by for some chiliquiles, and no not the guy named that, for Perla to come back to work for her. Don C does tell Perla she wanted to be Guendy's apprentice.
Leo and DA (Deigo Armando) are having a chat and a walk. Leo feels bad now that MA is gone. Leo needs an amigo, just an amigo asks DA? Yes, just that. I think DA tells Leo all about Nepo's dream of having DA be a futbol star.
Since Don C isn't with this dream of Perla's, to be a model, she will be helping to serve at the Fonda. Ahole comes in to the Fonda unannounced bearing another gift. Everyone gathers around the gift, which is a flat screen TV, very large. It's a gift to the familia, Ahole says. Ahole explains it not only is a TV, but can be connected to the Internet. Wowie, wow! All of them love it, especially Perla, Emi and Tizoc. Of course Don Chuy and Lupe not so much. Don Chuy mentions something about being Guadalupanos. Meanwhile, upstairs in the Penthouse, Frida can hear Ahole and panicks. She tells AS, who is drunk off her a$$ets and Dona Mati. Dona Mati tells Frida not to fret cause the Menchaca won't let Ahole anywhere near them. I think Tizoc also came up to tell them that Ahole was there. They close the curtains of the Penthouse and huddle in there.
Now the new TV is on and even Don C likes what he sees. Lupe is pithed.
Frida called Leo and warned him that Ahole is at the Fonda. DA suggests that Leo come over to his house for awhile. Leo is kinda scared of Nepo, but Nepo is at work so Leo goes with DA.
Nepo and Trofeo are at the market, and Trofeo talks about Salma Hayek and I don't know what. Nepo is happy that DA is interested in Perla Ivette. But Nepo wishes he were with Lupe, damn the bad luck!
Lupe pulls Don C aside and doesn't want to keep that flat screen. Ahole tries to make his case to Lupe. All of the familia let her know they want her to accept it. Ahole claims he doesn't care if she keeps the flat screen or not, as long as he can spend time with her. All of the familia look at Lupe with longing. She invites him to eat. They are having pancita and pata or is it caldo de pata? Not sure. Oh, and they get to keep the flat screen.
Meanwhile, Isela is at the "Cloob", gossiping with her friends about the scandal of the RPs being broke, and when is Mini going to divorce Ahole and how's that going? Getting lots of bennies out of that, like places in Switzerland? Isela ribs one of the ladies about her daughter not getting a good thing out of her divorce. Isela is very gleeful.
Where has Mini taken MA you ask? MA is asking too. What a shock when Mini opens the door, cause Mini has brought MA to her neck of the 'hood, so to speak, her house, Y'all! He is very reluctant to get out of the vehicle, but she assures him, this house would be the last place the cops would look, think about that! MA would really like to have a look at Vilma's laptop, but Mini says it's in a secure place and not there at her house. MA is not very happy and Mini suggests a bit of a bath, and a rest, as she is singing this earworm, Mercy
Vilma is searching all over El Editorial for her laptop. She is rooting around Melina's desk and finds her lunch, which Vilma is thinking stinks. It's a ham sandwich. Vilma wants to know why Melina has a safe under her desk. Well, it's for her personal things, and Vilma makes her open it. It just contains Melina's personal laptop. Vilma thought she took hers. Vilma goes off.
DA and Leo are now at DA's and are talking futbol. Isn't this DA's passion? He used to think so, but not anymore. It's really his Daddy Nepo's dream. Leo advises him to find his own passion and then go from there.
Ahole eats and thinks the pancita is way spicy and Don C tells him what's in it. Does he want to try the pata? Ahole thinks by the time he's done, he'll have eaten the whole cow, but he eats it.
MA has had his bath and has a towel wrapped around him, as he thinks back to the first shower at the Menchacas and running into Lupe, when Mini waltzs right into the bathroom with an indignant MA. MA wants her out, but she is squealing and peeking thru her fingers and is just gazing upon MA's semi nakedness. She finally goes.
Ahole is now done eating, Lupe offers to escort him to the door, but he wants to see the rest of the place. Ahole settles for Emi's room.
MA is dressed in a brown simple number, sans tie, and Mini isn't approving. Mini wants to feed him a fancy dinner. MA just wants the laptop. It's squirreled away at Isela's she tells him. Mini really wants to help him, when a shrewish Isela appears and wants to know what MA is doing in HER house!
Lupe is trying to talk Ahole out of going upstairs, but he is determined, so Lupe tells Don C what is going on, and follows Ahole up the stairs.
Isela doesn't want this criminal, MA, in HER home. Mini tells Isela to keep it up and she'll find herself out on the street. Mini tells MA not to move, she's having a word with her Motha.
Lupe now is upstairs at the Penthouse and warns Frida and Dona Mati that Ahole is upstairs and to stay in the Penthouse. AS isn't happy and wants a word with Lupe.
Mini tells Isela to go off to a hotel so she can be completely, utterly alone with her Mi Chiqui, MA, and and Isela better not tell anyone that MA is there or she swears on her Papa, may he rest in peace, that Mini will do something drastic. Isela is hurt and doesn't want to be treated like a leper, but she goes with her packed suitcase.
While Mini is off, talking to her Motha, MA has called Saul and let him know where he is. Saul says so your in the wolf's mouth, and how perfect is that really, cause Saul can visit with MA there without arousing suspicion from the cops, cause Mini is his client.
Ahole and Emi are in Emi's room now, and Ahole wants to know how Emi is working the Mama and Daddy should marry angle, but Emi says Lupe has been really busy lately, but he's trying. Tizoc comes in and says that he and Emi share a room. Ahole looks at the posters and thinks Tizoc is into the wrestling, but Emi also tells him about the band Tizoc was in.
Meanwhile, in the Penthouse, AS is trying to beckon Lupe closer, but she stands where she is and wants to know what's up. AS thinks that Lupe and MA are all done now. AS declares, and not very nicely, cause she is drunk off her a$$ets, that MA has more important things to do now, like prove his innocence, to recoup the RP fortune, and get AS out of this, say it with me Y'all, porca miseria! AS basically tells Lupe to forget all about MA. Frida and Dona Mati are not very happy with AS, but AS is very sure, now MA has forgotten all about Lupe already.
Mini has come back into the room and tells MA she will order MA's food from his favorite restaurtant, and she's there to help, BWHAAAA
DA and Leo are still talking when Nepo honks his horn outside and Leo panics, he's got to go, cause Nepo isn't the fan of his familia. Too late, Leo couldn't get out fast enough and Nepo and Trofeo walk in. I didn't notice before, but DA has a bruise on his eye. I don't know what he told Nepo, I didn't catch it, but Leo says he's gotta go and does. Nepo explains that that was the Prince, the brother of Mike.
Ahole, keeping up the pressure, wants Emi to visit him at El Editorial manana, but Lupe tells Ahole no, then says she will think about it. Ahole says the house is bigger than he thought, he wants a look see, but Lupe tells him this is not El Editorial but her home.
Vilma and Beto are hangin' out in La Nopalera, while Beto is questioning anyone that comes along about MA, have they seen him, do they know him? He isn't getting great answers and tells Vilma so. Vilma wants him to get cracking, cause Ahole wants answers, by gum!
Emi is taking Ahole around the house and Ahole wants to go further upstairs, and Lupe tries to stop him. Ahole goes up anyways, and Frida calls Leo again and tells him not to come home yet, cause Ahole is still there. Leo is panicking. Frida, and Dona Mati are holed up in fear in the Penthouse, but AS is passed out, holding Da Vinci. Ahole wants to know what's in that room, the Penthouse, and Lupe tells him it's Don C's santcuary for his wrestling stuff and no one is allowed in there, he tries the door, but gets a call. He goes off and Lupe lets Frida know, by knock, that's it's okay. It's Vilma that has called Ahole. She says they aren't getting good info in La Nopalera about MA. Ahole isn't happy and wants results while Beto laughs and gets a punch for the laugh.
Ahole and Emi are back in his room and Lupe has had to go back downstairs to the Fonda. Emi just happens to pull out the polo stick that MA gave him and Ahole notices MA's initials on the handle right away, MARR. Ahole wants to know where Emi got the polo stick. Uh, oh!
AVANCES:
Saul wants to know if Mini and MA are getting back together.
Lupe calls MA and hears Mini in the background and wants to know where MA is!
MUST SEE TV!

when Chuy told Ahole about them being guadalupanos, he thought having access to the internet meant some other alternate religious thing so Chuy told Ahole firmly that they were Catholics and Guadalupans... (basically saying don't try to convert us to the 'internet'). Ahole just rolled his eyes...
about Trofeo mentioning Salma, he comes in very happy with the sales of a new punch he had come up with, named it Salma Hayek since it had a lot of MELONES(relating to Salma's bust size).
Gwendy told the Menchacas she still needed help with her business and asked if Perla could come back to work for her. Perla would much rather work with Gwendy than with the Fonda, but Chuy and Lupe made her compromise that she would work with Gwendy part time and come back and help with the Fonda AS WELL, which is not making Perla happy at all.
and thanks for the recap of the last half, i fell asleep again.

I know we have a ways to go but I am soooo sick of Alejo always pushing the agreed upon limits for his visitation with Emiliano and always finding a way to make Lupita look bad or unrerasonable.
My favorite scenes:
Leonardo and Diego walking in the park. Diego tells Leonardo that he has to put forth effort to get through the rough patch he is experiencing. Leonardo tells Diego it is good talking to him because he has never had a real friend. Diego asks: only a friend? Leonardo answers: Si, amigo obvio. (Yes, a friend obviously) Cute Diego replies: ¿amigovio? (Sounds like a combination of amigo and novio to me). Leonardo answers: What else could we be? ( referring back to amigos). They both agree that this "friendship "is new for both of them and agree to take it as it comes. It turns out Diego got into a fight at soccer and that is why his eye is injured. Since soccer is so sacred for his dad he says it would probably be better if he said he got it in a fight defending Leonardo. Just when we think we are going to hear more about why Mrs. Nepo left, Frida calls giving Leonardo the heads up about Alejo.
The ladies at the club. Chabela talking about how handsome MA looked in those "wanted" photos that appeared everywhere that she wished she were thirty years younger. Also, who would have thought that someone coming from his background would end up like Al Capone.
At Minerva's house. Poor MA being told he smelled like a poor person. He is sort of under house arrest and I do not think he is close at all to getting his hands on Vilma's laptop. It looks like Minerva has other plans for him since she sent Isela packing to a hotel.
At the fondfa. Alejo eatirng the pancita and patas.

yeah A-hole's faces as he ate pancita that was beyond 'spicy' (i am sure intentionally, given Lupe and Chuy's faces of enjoyment) and his facial expression when he was told 'pata' was just that, the leg of the cow. this is where he made a comment that they seemed to use ALL of the cow (no waste).. LOL!

Ahole is looking for some way to leverage so he'll keep using Emi until he can get an "in" with Lupe to get what he wants, the Presidency of El Editorial. I don't want him harming any of the three. I wish the cops would get wise to Ahole.

I too have a BIG problem with Alejo always finding a way to make Lupita look bad or unrerasonable. mostly since the one that will have the big blow of 'reality' in the end will be Emiliano. So good Emiliano will have MA (just guessing he survives in the fin) for fatherly figure support (the right kind).

I will be curious to see what Emi tells Ahole about that polo stick and where he got it. I don't think Emi will tell him he got it from MA, at least I hope he doesn't.

Leo couldn’t understand why that was an issue since they were just talking like any friends would do. Diego said that his father was very closed minded and he didn’t want him getting the wrong idea. That’s when Leo agreed to go but Nepo came in at that moment. Then when he asked what happened to Diego’s eye they both started talking at the same time clearly nervous.

Madelaine, I agree we need more of the Zombies if for no other reason that they drive Alejo crazy!
AS reminds me of those female characters of romantic novels of old who when having suffered an emotional calamity would take to their beds. She has her gin, they probably spiked their tea with some sort of elixir, too.

Thanks, Mads! Another busy episode with maybe not a lot of action, but a lot of great conversations!
I enjoyed the running theme of manipulative people giving gifts and favors with strings attached. Ahole with the TV, and Mini with the hideout.
When Ahole heard about Tizoc's band, I swear I could hear the little wheels turning in his head... another way to make Lupe the "bad guy" would be to offer Tizoc help with his music career. And just wait till he realizes that Perla is an aspiring model. (I assume he won't even remember her from when she went to tryouts.)
I hope Emi is swift enough to come up with a good explanation for the polo mallet. One easy way would be to say "ask my mother" and let Lupe deal with it. ;-) She could say that she found it in a secondhand store. (Or maybe not - as that would probably steer Ahole towards the pawnshop, and I don't even want to think what would be Sharky's price for keeping the family secret... pucker up, Ana Sofia!)

Looks like Mini is really enjoying this turn of events. She has My Name Mike just where she wants him. I don’t see her giving him the laptop at all. She will probably use it just to keep him tied up. Run my Mike run!!!
So funny when Leo leaves Nepo’s house, saying goodbye to Nepo and Trofeo, “Adios Sr. Platano y Platanito”.
Also funny naming a drink after Salma Hayek because it has lots of melons. What is interesting about this joke is that since she is equally famous in Mexico and in the US, most US viewers will know who she is.
Good for Lupita on how she reacted to AS’ harsh and cruel words saying that MA would soon forget her. Lupe no longer takes AS seriously. AS has lost power over Lupita and is probably seen as a drunk elitist buffoon soon to be mother in law. Talk about a monster in law!
Loved the scene with Beto and Vilma in the car. She is getting scolded by her dictator boss while Beto enjoys that huge “torta” and beverage in a bag.
I would like Beto and Trofeo to meet. This would definitely be a good setup for some funny moments.
Perla Ivette gets on my nerves. She is so easy and would sell out anyone for some “baros”. She wants an easy life, but is not willing to work for it. She is a serious danger to those around her.
I felt sad for Tizoc. He lost his band. I think he was a bit harsh with them in a past episode, but still for it to have it come to this. And to have him overhear when the manager said “Now only the winners are left to the band”. But from we’ve seen so far, he is the composer, so either some one will have fill those shoes or the band will not have anything original to play.
When Emi was rummaging under his bed for a second I thought he was going to find the legal papers everyone is looking for and Alejo (or Tontejo as Isela sometimes calls him) would get his hands on them.
So now the question is: What will Emi answer about where he got the polo stick? Will he lie? Will Lupita magically show up in the nick of time? Will Alejo get stomach cramps from all the pancita that he ate?
Looks like Mini is really enjoying this turn of events. She has My Name Mike just where she wants him. I don’t see her giving him the laptop at all. She will probably use it just to keep him tied up. Run my Mike run!!!
So funny when Leo leaves Nepo’s house, saying goodbye to Nepo and Trofeo, “Adios Sr. Platano y Platanito”.
Also funny naming a drink after Salma Hayek because it has lots of melons. What is interesting about this joke is that since she is equally famous in Mexico and in the US, most US viewers will know who she is.
Good for Lupita on how she reacted to AS’ harsh and cruel words saying that MA would soon forget her. Lupe no longer takes AS seriously. AS has lost power over Lupita and is probably seen as a drunk elitist buffoon soon to be mother in law. Talk about a monster in law!
Loved the scene with Beto and Vilma in the car. She is getting scolded by her dictator boss while Beto enjoys that huge “torta” and beverage in a bag.
I would like Beto and Trofeo to meet. This would definitely be a good setup for some funny moments.
Perla Ivette gets on my nerves. She is so easy and would sell out anyone for some “baros”. She wants an easy life, but is not willing to work for it. She is a serious danger to those around her.
