Que Pobres Tan Ricos #122: 6/25/14: Dona Mati's New Conundrum! Ahole Needs A Million Cast Iron Skillets!

Hola Amiguis! I am posting the highlights of what happened last epi. I don't know if EZ is posting, but if he is, I will take this one down.

Don Bambi got transferred to Spain cause ya know his bebe Mama lives there, plus she's got all that money, so he is now in a Spanish prison, but no worries, MA is still protected, only Don Bambi didn't clear MA before he left. MA tells Saul, and Saul reminds him there is always Mini, wink, wink! MA is less than enthused.

Agente Chavez kept his promise to check back in with Ahole and Dona Mati, so he even brought his own Doc. Well the Doc examines her and finds she is completely demented, well not that, but has senile dementia. Poor Dona Mati kept referring to Ahole as Angelito and we know she isn't meaning Ahole. This exam was done while Vilma, Ahole and the nurse are all present. The Doc even checked the "pills" that that stupid nurse says she's been giving Dona Mati and the Doc agrees these pills are the latest treatment. Don Mati actually has nice jammies on, a scarlet silk pair. As soon as Agente Chavez and the Doc leaves, Beto, Ahole and Vilma, along with that, may the anvil strike her, nurse, and Dona Mati go in a car and stop in this really tough neighboorhood and drop Dona Mati off. Ahole thinks whoever finds her will think she's a poor woman, off her head, and she'll probably die in this 'hood, far away from him and La Nopalera. I hope Ahole goes to hellz, along with the nurse, Vilma and Beto!

Tizoc and Perla smoochze with Ahole, who tells them he'll "help them out" of course he will.

Lupe tells her Papa first that she is engaged to MA. Well he takes it as expected. The guy is in jail, no future, you will find someone else. Then later he hits the wall. When she tells Perla and Tizoc they aren't happy either. Perla lets it slip to AS and Leo. Oh, and Emi, is told also, but not all of it and goes off to school with Don Chuy. Emi thinks Lupe is marrying Ahole, his Papa. The only one happy for Lupe is Carmelita.

AS is in the kitchen talking about paprika and how it enlivens a dish. Carm and she argue as usual. Carm may not have gone to culinary school, but people love her food, never a complaint. Don Chuy comes and breaks it up, and I don't know what else was said.

Ahole pays a visit to Nepo to pay off Lupe's debt to him. I think Nepo asked how much time MA will be doing in jail. Ahole just tells Nepo he wants the figures, so Nepo gives him the numbers plus interest. Ahole has Vilma cut Nepo the check and they leave.

Mini goes to the jail to visit MA, Saul is still there too, but Mini wants private time with MA. MA tugs on Saul and doesn't want him to go. Mini is on the same old, same old. She wants a chance with MA and she'll by Dios help him. Yeah, yeah, but surprisingly, with no arguement and no second thoughts, he tells Mini he'll get back with her. I want to know his plan, but he didn't say.

Emi is lippy with Lupe, she calls him on it too, it's about his shoes again. He wants the top end ones. I think he's a mini Ahole already. And that's all I can remember.

Good Afternoon Y'all:

Here is what I remember from last night. I wasn't watching closely. I don't know if EZ will be putting up a recap, but I put this up.

Oh, there was a part about Frida, poor thing went back to school and gets dissed as usual. They think she's a thief like her brother who is in the jail, even Tato disses her. She just continues on. Oh, and Frida is happy too about the Lupe and MA engagement.

Oh, and Leo's class walk out on him. They determine he doesn't know what he is talking about and they came to learn about Mexico's artists and writers, not European. Diego talks with Leo later and tells him about his job at a private school to be coaching soccer. And I think either Diego will help Leo learn what he needs to know or he told Leo to do better research.

Oh, and Frida and Lupe went to visit Dona Mati, but she's long gone already. Inuki tells them she's gone and she knows not where. Lupe and Frida are very worried.

Thanks, Mads! This was very nicely written, even if off-the-cuff. If you missed anything big, I sure can't remember it. Was there anything new with Gwendy, maybe?

OK, I remember one small thing. Someone invited Tom to stay for dinner or something and he couldn't because he was meeting with someone. He didn't say who. They assumed it was a hot date, but he was mysterious about it, so who knows.

Anyway, isn't he still interested in Perla? I think she should take him up on that offer of a date. I think an evening with her would probably cure him of his interest.

I am horrified about what Ahole and the nurse did to Mati, but of all the RPs, she's probably the one who's least likely to be harmed in such a vulnerable state. People always like her, so even if she doesn't get her bearings quickly and find her way to safety on her own, someone will probably help her.

I thought I saw Beto looking really conflicted and guilty in a later scene (or maybe it was the avances for tonight); I'd like to see some reaction from Vilma, too, because I don't want to write her off just yet.

Madelaine, thanks for getting this done. I've only watched the first ten minutes so far, so I'm quite distressed to read about Mati. That is truly despicable. Vilma should be dead to us now.

Julie,

"I think an evening with her would probably cure him of his interest"

LOL!

Thanks, Mads! i recorded last night's ep but fell asleep under the influence of Nyquil. My head was pounding... but I will try to watch before tonight's ep. even though i am not sure i want to, given what happened.

Thank you, Madelaine. The recap is great..

Poor MA with Bambi extradited to España, doña Maty in jeopardy and his agreeing to go back with Minerva, he really does need to be praying to St. Jude.

Lupita was so cute not wanting MA to call her his "novia"(girlfriend) or "comprometida" (fiancée) but wanting him to call her his "vieja" (old lady),

Alejo kept getting pissed because doña Maty in the drugged state he put her in kept calling him "angelito" because she thought he was MA.

Although doña Maty was left out alone on the street, I feel she has a better chance surviving than she would have staying at Alejo's and being drugged constantly.

Leonardo is finding that his usual BS isn't doing the job with his class in La Nopaleera. It will be interesting to see how Diego does on his job interview for soccer coach at the private school.

I felt sorry for Lupita but also for don Chuy who after seeing Lupita so hurt by Alejo is afraid that she is headed to the same heartbreak again with MA in jail with no prospects to get out or support her. It was so good Carmelita could be happy for her since Perla and Tizoc were sort of jerks, too.

Too bad Emiliano left for school with the big malentendido in his head that Lupita is going to marry Alejo. Something will come of that, right?

It was funny when Perla came waltzing into the Ruizpalacios apartment (?) and thinking it was no big deal since they were all going to be family anyway. AS looked so hopeful reading through her recipes but the news of the engagement sure sent her right back to her elixir.

Loved how MA kept physically dragging Saúl back to the table at the jail when Minerva wanted to talk to MA alone.

Thanks again, Madelaine.

Jarifa

Thanks so much Mads! I didn't get to watch, but I'm actually happy to hear that Mati has been set free. Like the rest of you, I'm sure whichever strangers find her will treat her better than Alejo and that horrible nurse did. Not happy that they were able to fool the doctor and the police though.

I am very disappointed to hear that Perla, and Tizoc of all people, would be upset that Lupe is engaged to MA. What has he ever done to them? And Tizoc really needs to shut up, or stop smooching on Frida all the time.

I for one am glad those vile trolls dumped Mati on the street! I bet she will be way better off than she was at Ahole's posh dungeon. Probably within minutes she will meet a nice family who will take her in and treat her well. And pretty soon, the drugs should wear off and she will probably be able to tell them where to take her or how to contact her family.

I also hope Emiliano soon discovers that Mati is gone and not safe and sound at Ahole's. That might turn him off his father a bit. Although he might be swayed by fancy shoes. Didn't Ahole already buy him fancy shoes? Is he hiding them from Lupita? Why is he still whining about wanting better shoes?

I agree, a little time with Perla would cure Tomas of his crush on her. He is too smart and sensible for someone as ditzy as her. Maybe Frida can get together with him when Tizoc's self-centeredness and judgy attitudes get to be too much for her. Frida is still a bit immature, but I think she will turn out okay. I am not so sure about shiftless Perla Ivette.

I believe Ahole said that the nurse fixed it so that there's paperwork to identify some other woman in a nursing home as Mati, so that she won't be reported as "lost."

I have no idea how Ahole thinks this is going to work. Of course people will be demanding to know where Mati went so they can visit her. Someone - maybe Leo or Frida - ought to be able to get a court order. Or some tireless family member will check every nursing home in North America to find her.

But even if none of that works out, Ahole's also assuming (as he did when she disappeared before) that Mati will be lost forever. For plot convenience she might indeed be lost for a long time, but it's stark raving stupid for him to stake his future on it.

But Vilma didn't point that out to him. :-)

Perla and Tizoc still think that MA is the one who stole the money, right? That could be a good reason to not like or trust him. I wish that story would be set straight already.

Did the doctor and detective really just trust that the pill bottle they were shown was what Mati was actually given? They need a blood sample to check what is in her system! Did they get the info from the tests Saul got, or the other doctor's report?

Maybe either Vilma or Beto isn't as horrible as we suspect, and will circle back without letting Ahole know to make sure Mati is taken care of.

Madelaine to the rescue! Thanks to all you talented and faithful summary writers - I miss so much without you. Thanks to Julie and Julia, too. You had so many of the same thoughts I had about Mati and Perla and Tizoc - and I, too, was thinking of Thomas for Frida in the end.
I'm relieved for Doña Mati. She is much better off on her own than in the hands of Alejo and company. Once the drugs wear off she might even know how to get in touch with someone who cares about her. It seems to me that Mati could be the key to solving so many problems. I'd like for Emiliano to find out how Alejo has treated Mati and hopefully that would counteract the impression that all the new toys and tennis shoes has made on him. I still have high hopes of Mati reconnecting with her senses and joining her old friends on the board of El Editorial. And, of course, she still needs to find that document that will allow the Menchacas to collect their million bucks.
I guess that "receipt" that Nepo signed for Vilma really means that he's selling the debt to Alejo. Don Soloman's debt will be bought next, I suppose (thanks to Perla's helpful treachery). Next move will be Alejo's threat to kick the Menchacas out of the house if they can't pay the debt.

Vivi, I think Perla and Tizoc are upset about the engagement not because they dislike MA (although they probably think he's the one who stole the 300,000 pesos), but because it means Ahole might withdraw his support for their dreams of fame and glamor. They're supposed to be helping him gain Lupita's favor. From that perspective, this is a HUGE fail.

Like Julia, I did a double-take when Emiliano whined about the shoes. At first I thought it was because they're getting so bad that he can't even pretend to continue wearing them much longer. But then I wondered if he's trying to manipulate her. If he can guilt her into letting him have fancier shoes than she can afford, she's forced to give some ground to Ahole.

Or, a simpler motive for someone so young might be that he is frustrated with Mommy and testing how far he can get away with pushing her.

Can't stand the way Perla and Tizoc, because of their pipe dreams of fame and fortune, became instant members of Team Alejo - but in all fairness, they don't know all the details of what he's done. They think he stole their money and all they know of his relationship to Emiliano is that he's the biological father who never knew he had a son - and now he's showering him with expensive gifts and is eager (or so they think) to help the family in any way they need. Wait until they find out he paid off their debt to Nepo. The battle lines at the Menchacas' will be clearly drawn - Emi, Perla and Tizoc on Team Ahole; Lupita and Carmen on Team Angelito and Don Chuy on nobody's team, probably just more anti-Ahole than anti-MA (but not by much).

Oops, they think Miguel Angel stole their money and Alejo's relationship with Emi.

I got the feeling that Mati manage to make a phone call before the nurse came in and found her with the phone. I think that as long as she can get whoever helps her to take to the nopalera in the D.F. she will be ok.

Correction : should have read "prometida"

Thanks for the starter Madelaine. You got most of it.

When Lupe wanted to tell Chuy the news, he asked with a worried face, is there going to be a sibling for Emiliano? And when Lupe said no, he said, ok, then whatever you're going to tell me can't be so bad. Although the news did come hard for him.

So we're in a very negative spot for this TN. MA telling Minerva that he will be her boyfriend again won't go easy. I don't like that she's bribing him this way, and if Lupe gets wind of this, I hope she's understanding.

The person who makes me more sick than Alejo is Vilma. She's like the mother of the child who's being molested by the husband who stays mum. She knows all the disgusting things that he's doing and she still stands by him and loves him. And she abets him too. No one can be lower than that. Not even the perpetrator. That is more disgusting to me than the abuser, who already is completely disgusting. I would be surprised that she would draw any line against Alejo killing someone. She'd probably make excuses for that too.

Thanks, Madelaine. Our tv went down for the last 15 min and I needed to know what I missed.
Mati's situation has me all tied in knots. She's defenseless, although I hope she regains her senses and can help rescue herself.

Good Evening Y'all and thanks so much for all your kind words. I am still amazed that I can half watch and get more than if I take notes.

I am glad that Dona Mati is free of Ahole, but I fear for her, all alone, in silk jammies, and I hope they don't stick her in some home where they medicate her as much as she was being medicated. I think that stupid nurse got her meds out of the trash and picked one to show to the Doc. The Doc and Agente Chavez never mentioned those tests that MA had done on Dona Mati and the exam the police Doc did was cursory. I think Frida and Lupe may go looking for Dona Mati, they both know how bad Ahole is. I hope they find Dona Mati.

The shoes Emi has hidden. He's never shown them to Lupe so I think he probably switches them out at school and wears his broke ones home. That's why I think he is turning into a mini Ahole and plus he is being really lippy and rude to his Mama. It's funny he's only rude to Lupe and no one else.

I was really mad at all the Menchaca for their attitudes, especially Don Chuy for being a putz and not supporting his daughter, and Perla and Tizoc for being dumb. Tizoc heard Lupe crying all those years for being hurt by Ahole and yet now he wants Ahole to help him! Que? I guess the draw of fame and fortune has turned both their heads. I'm thinking Ahole is not really going to help them that much, of if he does, it all depends on getting Lupe so he can get that Chairman of The Board at El Editorial.

Marta:

I hope you get to feeling better. I got an Upper Respritory Infection a week ago, and I am just now feeling more like myself.

Nepo is officially on the dark side. Whenever I see him, I'm reminded of the saying, "Come to the Dark Side, We have Cookies." I think this time they had banana bread or galletas de plantain.
