De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero #126 & 127, 7/10/14
Labels: te-quiero
For all that Diego is blasting Nat for being naive, he knows damn well that his brother who tried to kill him is sending him text messages...and he went to meet him alone. Brilliant, Diego! All you're worried about is whether your brother is shagging Nat and it never occurred to you to wonder if he might have an even darker motive.
I hope that is the last we see of la Jaiba. A nice comeuppance that could have been shorter.
Though the writers have laid a foundation for Diego's jealousy and Nat's foolishness with Rod does not help, its really sickening when the "galan" says things that should NEVER be said to the love of his life. Yeah, tns teach forgiveness but sometimes our heroines should forgive and close the door on that relationship forever and find someone else. I love romance but instead of promoting the message that the heart wants what the heart wants, perhaps tns could also add that love is a choice. And when the person who claims to love you continues to mistrust and mistreat you, its time to let that relationship go. Please note, Nat's poor decision have been a problem too but lately it seems tn "galans" go too dark and I can't be excited the couple is together. I'm looking at you Robo w/Ale pretending to be a "galan."
The writers have completely lost their minds w/Karina's baby-making scheme some how making her a rational person. And little Al going along with it only makes me more angry that the writers want me to desire he get back together with Irene. Let Tad live a long life with his wife and daughter and let little be a father and husband to Karina.
The Brat seemed to be acting like her old self to Nat (and I'm not talking about her being Rod's stooge) regarding Nat's concern for Tad. Until she comes clean about this latest scheme, I can't see redemption for her.
Bummed that Nat has to wait longer to find out who her real parents are and I hope she doesn't get mad when she learns the truth.
For all of Diego's crazy tonight, I am glad he admitted he was going to have to leave b/c if he didn't Rod would die. While an extreme statement, he can start his therapy from this point and learn to control his emotions hopefully. Once Al, Irene or someone with sense gets what Rod has been doing, Diego needs someone to say to him that his rage at his brother is understandable but he must control his anger. And he must see through his own epiphany or help that Rod has been manipulating Nat too.
Word, Sara!
I notice we didn't see Morales or Kim this episode. My goodness! They'll both need a week to recover.
Vicente – so close! You were actually listening to Nat! (And you picked a good time to do so: her explanation of why she didn’t think Rod was ready to be exec pres was the only moment of intelligence for her in the entire eppy.) But then you turned around and got pissy because you know she’s right, Rod isn’t emotionally or mentally stable.
Albie – so close! It really looked like you were going to kick the Brat to the curb. But then she batted her eyes and fingered the end of the shirt she wears as a dress and you were sucked in again. WHY???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Abdul – so close! Yesterday you were shaking your head about how right your mom was. Now, suddenly, you’ve forgotten all of that? I’d be pissed too, if my long, lost dad showed up after twenty something to seduce my gf and my mom knew all about it and said nothing. Luckily for you, you have Mali to point out that your mom tried talking to you about it like an adult and you weren’t having any of it.
Nat – you were never close. Good God but you need Mali in your life. I need someone, ANYONE to sit down with you and ask you to think about why Diego is so ready to believe you slept with his brother. It’s so odd because you’re totally honest with him and have never shown Rod the slightest interest since the truth came out. I mean it’s not like you told Diego you were sleeping with his bro or anything…wait…wait, that’s not what’s happening at all?! Huh…let me think about that for a while. You could even join me in thinking about your actions, if you know how…
Diego – ditto. You don’t want to know why Rod invited you to his party? You don’t think it’s the slightest bit odd that he made you go next door and use binoculars, even though he could’ve seen everything up close and personal NEXT DOOR? You know Rod’s a crazy a** and you know you hate it when you can’t explain, yet you refuse to let Nat string two sentences together. Honestly, when you said no one could get the idea out of your mind, I wondered how Vicente managed to steal your identity.
@Karen – For the first time in my tn experience, I really don’t know what couple is supposed to end up together in the end in the Karina/Alonso/Irene/Tadeo recTangle. I honestly thought I and A were supposed to be together in the end, but now I think the Tadeo/Irene and Alonso/Karina camps had it right. That scene where they learn Karina’s pregnant spanks of future coupledom and otherwise Tad and Karina end up by themselves and Al and Irene have to defend their relationship to all of the ppl who say “oh it never occurred to me that she was your girlfriend!”
Andres! What timing! Nat ponders how to get rid of her love for Diego and the next scene is Andres with a bouquet of roses in Caprico. Poor guy. Maybe he and Angela will get together?
And poor Big Al. Is he going to have to catch the Brat in bed w/Rod to realize what she is? He doesn't trust her why introduce her to your parents? Oh Al.
Vivi, like you I am so disappointed in Diego. If he's going to use bad word with someone, it needs to be his brother and/or Grumps. Add to this, there are no equivalent words for slut or whore for men, it just re-enforces that his outburst was just so uncalled for.
Kat thanks and I hope you don't have a temperature ;)
I am just not understanding any of this. (This is not out of the ordinary: As I get older I find there are many things about contemporary society that I don't understand.)
Loved your "Alberto has sobered up but hasn't wised up,"
and
"He says he's not a coward, he's trying to avoid a tragedy, because if he stays he will kill Rod." (And this would be bad because. . .?)
Hope Nat takes the revelation about her blood family well and that Tad gets his bone marrow transplant; I like him.
And little Al and Karina? I, uh. . .uh. . .good luck to the fetus.

David
Why did we never discuss Andres as a possibility for Angela? It could be a good match, but he's always seemed a bit slow on the uptake to me, and Angela just seems to be more intelligent. But they are both nice people, and if Angela hooked up with newly rich Andres, she'd be able to afford to dedicate herself to her new agey stuff. There must be a reason why the writers moved her from the good vibes kiosk at the mall, to the center of the action at the fonda.
The person we should be wondering about is Alonso, for agreeing to have a baby with his stalker and then getting her pregnant the old fashioned way.
Now that Karina is pregnant, it makes me fear that she will not survive this TN, that she will have to die for Irene & Alonso to get back together (and raise Al Jr.)
Natalia was stuck on stupid for going down Rape Alley.
I can't wait for Brat's pie cart. Something tells me she's going to be worse to Natalia when she finds out Señora Irene is Nat's bio-mom.
"I’m guessing she went out like the bitch she was, despite what Padre says about her repenting." Vivi, I wish you’d stop pussyfooting around and say what you mean :) And of course I totally agree with you. She was a monster and I am also glad she is gone and unable to torture Mara further. It was frustrating that we don't know definitively if her mother apologized to Mara, but I doubt it.
"Alberto has sobered up, but hasn’t wised up", "Bro Central" and "Her spidey sense should have gone off right then and there" were a few of my favorites.
I thought La Jaiba losing everything to the nun was great justice. I do hope though that she doesn't return, I think she has played out her role here and hope we have more time for Paolo, Mara and other of our favorite characters.
I was going to comment on the Nat/Diego/Rod situation but deleted what I wrote because Karen's insightful comment was perfect: "I love romance but instead of promoting the message that the heart wants what the heart wants, perhaps tns could also add that love is a choice. And when the person who claims to love you continues to mistrust and mistreat you, its time to let that relationship go. and it's becoming a bit tedious".
HellaShelle, like you, I'm thinking (hoping) that Tad and Irene are together at the end. Karina and Alonso are both so immature but like many of you did think for a tic that they might work out. Ummm. Maybe.
David: "But consider how the nun will feel reporting in to her new Mother Superior with a suitcase full of vibrators and filmy ropa interior" was hysterical.
Poor Alberto! He so desperately wants to have his own family and be part of Carmen's! Will there be any redemption for Brig???
Vivi, I don't see Andres and Anglea. But, (call me crazy) I did think she might be a good match for Abdalah. I realize the age difference but they both seem to be very serious people and thought they might spark. I did feel for Abdul who (rightly) believes his father abandoned him. That is not forgiven quickly or easily.
Please let the truth come out tonight so Nat can begin to understand and accept her parents and let's get Tad's bone marrow surgery underway.
Vivi, you've made my day.
Diana
I actually kind of like the idea of Andres and Angela. There's got to be a reason they've kept him around too!
To me, the question is not "if" Fish Lips Brat is going to be redeemed, my question is: "Why should she be redeemed?" Someone will have to point me in the direction of any of her good deeds as I don't recall seeing any? For someone so young, she is so miserable.
Alonso and Karina. Oy. This storyline just flat out boggles my mind. EVERY time I see Karina and that crazy, far off look in her eyes, I think she is a nut job. Alonso is even nuttier. His character is making no sense to me now.
Like Diana, I hope the truth finally comes out tonight and that we don't have days and days of Dumb Natalia's anger.
Fatima
I could see Abdul, Paolo & Lupita (her bio-sibs) rejecting Brigitte for her treatment of Natalia. I can't see Natalia or Carmen rejecting her. I can see Brigitte rejecting them, though. I can see her pulling a YOU LIKE HER BETTER THAN ME trip and leaving town.
Maybe she'll find her daddy and he'll whisk her away. I don't see how any of the Garcias could ever trust Brigitte again. Certainly when Irene finds out what Brigitte's been up to she and her short dresses will be tossed out of Caprico.
On rape alley - I've definitely been in Nat's shoes i.e. stuck in creepy looking area by myself. I can understand her feeling like this is creepy, but what should I do? Bail on the meeting, go back to Caprico and report to Rod and Vicente that I got scared because of a narrow, graffitied hallway in the middle of the day with the cabbie (supposedly) waiting for me? 1) These are the moments when a thought bubble would help 2) I talked about it with some friends who said they'd be afraid of looking like a child in front of their employer blah, blah, blah. And given that Nat will bail on work to go support various friends and family members through bad days all the time, I would think she would bail on a meeting if she felt creeped out, especially having almost been raped before. Twice.
Now, my go to has always been to call someone on my cell, tell them where I am and keep them on the phone until I get to where I need to be. If Nat had done that, especially if she had called Diego, we would have all been spared a lot of head scratching, head shaking, forehand slapping and general head abusing moments last night.
Fatima - ditto on Brig. I want to see her recognize the injustice of the way she treats her family, but I don't think she deserves a happy ending at the end of all of this. I honestly don't know what Al sees in her because their every interaction has been fighting or her basically ignoring him while he has a good time (except for that one mini scene the night the found out she was preggers right after he said he wanted to buy them a new apartment.)
Whew. La Jaiba isn't the only one should have been on that bus outta town.
What is so hard about a couple uniting and formulating a strategy against a common foe or for a desired outcome. If they cannot and go solo cowboy they deserve all the bad blood and a bullet in the back of the relationships head.
Diego - the bigger they are the harder they fall
Tad - go ahead on, I got all the time in the world
Abdul - pissing and moaning about mama & daddy to Mali is just pissing and moaning
Mali - oh wise one
Alberto - oh you moron
Brigitte - bad copy
Hot Rod - last one, a pop up fly. this one, outta the park.
Carmen - keep missing them potholes
Alonso - I know what you're thinking but wait till he's dead to comfort the widow
Karina - accolades go to a gracious host not the oven
Nat - " That's a strange way to tell me you love me"
Like a lot of other folks I also loved "Alberto has sobered up but hasn't wised up.". You conveyed so much in that one short sentence.
And "rape alley" and "steep rape staircase" were chilling.
Just have NOT had the patience to watch this lately. But found the recap and comments just wonderful. Thank you Vivi and thank you all. This line has gotten very lively I must say!
I REALLY liked Amor Bravio's Camila and Daniel because they lived and worked together for a little bit. It was before they got married, so I was a little shocked to see it on a TN, but the way they fought, made up and worked together was much more realistic than other couples I'd seen.
I've been thinking lately that whenever Diego enters a room, someone needs to duck tape him to the door frame BY HIS MOUTH so he has to listen without interrupting.
I see a few here but they are missing something and it bothers me.
Tad & Irene, seemingly united in developing a relationship with the long lost daughter, playing house for both their benefit and I believe Irene doesn't want him to die but she lust still for a boy and one little stumble from being back in the sack with him.
Abdul & Mari, though not really a romance yet, do support each other and are ok with deferring to the others strengths. Although Abdul got a little wobbly last night, Mari talked him down and didn't poopoo his lament when she really could have.
Paolo & Mara, while young, are attracted to each other, they act mature for their ages and acknowledge they are better together than apart. Not solely because they think the other will run off with someone else or loneliness but a four fisted struggle is better than a two fisted one. It just feels good to cry on the shoulder of someone that wants to share your pain.
BTW, I'm slated to recap tonight's episode. Since I was never given full access to the dashboard, I'm still going to need help from you or someone else with access to upload my recap once I complete it. Can I email it to you like I used to do with my C.I. recaps? I'll try to get it done tonight, but it's possible that I won't have it ready until Saturday morning.
Vivi - I definitely agree that there are tns that clearly spend more time making sure characters are consistent and their actions are believable. I just don't get why they give so much of the same, rather than cutting out a little fluff so the audience doesn't hate the characters.
Example: Why do we have an entire scene of Diego and Irene going to her house, with him stopping to get a spam message on his phone? Instead, we need a thought bubble from the heroine to explain why she's going down a creepy alley by herself. Instead of multiple scenes of Diego literally ranting and screaming the same things over and over again, give us twenty seconds of him saying, with some semblence of calm, "I wouldn't believe either, but I saw it with my own eyes! She she's been lying to me and sneaking off without any explanation. Instead of ignoring him, she's not even fighting his placement at work, even though he screwed us on the telas! She believes all of his lies, takes his calls, holds his hand when he claims he doesn't feel well...it's too much for me not to doubt." As ridiculous as she is, and as much as I dislike her, Brig had that scene with Carmen that clearly explained how she thinks about Nat and why she hates her. Can I get one for Big Al explaining why he stays with her? Carmen got her scene with the brujas at the funeral demonstrating that instead of resorting to blows and ending up arrested like she did before, she's learned how to defend her kids calmly, with her words. Can I see some growth from the protagonistas? It just has me shaking my head. But I know, I know, guys: I have to remember that this is a tn universe.
