Mi Corazón es Tuyo (My Heart is Yours) - Main Characters

Ana (Silvia Navarro)

is in a job she despises, and she has just lost the home she struggled to own… she knows she has to “start over”…

On account of some clerical error at an employment agency, Ana finds herself applying for the job of “nanny” to a wealthy widower, Fernando Lascuraín, with seven difficult children. Somehow, without credentials and/or a cultured background, Ana manages to charm the children and make them show signs of beginning to recover from the loss of their mother.

Meanwhile, Fernando, their father pursues a woman with a suitable pedigree, but it becomes increasingly obvious that he smitten with Ana, and Ana is smitten with him!

Fernando Lascurain (Jorge Salinas)

appreciates order and discipline.  He is father of seven kids and has been a widower for a year now.  He doesn't drink, smoke, or otherwise enjoy the finer things in life..... As a businessman, he is widely respected, especially since he heads a finance company.  He's totally buried himself in his work, thinking to provide his kids  with the very best in life, but has actually neglected giving them what they need most: his love and his affection.  Ana's arrival will have a great impact on him as it will awaken his passion for life, now gone since the death of his wife.

Isabela Vázquez de Castro (Mayrín Villanueva)

is the object of Fernando's affections, but his kids don't want her around.  She's a sophisticated executive with a number of Masters' Degrees from numerous universities around the world.  She's extremely beautiful and knows it.  Her gain, everybody else's loss.....  The woman is calculating and manipulative and could care less who she steps on to get what she wants--and she wants Fernando.....along with the status and life of unbounded luxury that being Sra. Lascurain offers.     However, his kids care for Ana more.

Diego Lascurain (Pablo Montero) is Fernando's brother and polar opposite.  He lacks commitment, has lots of charm and loves to party.

Bruno (René Casados) is the loyal majordomo of the Lascurain manse.

Jennifer (Fabiola Campomanes) is Ana's crass best friend and a waitress at Club Chicago.

Yolanda (Carmen Salinas)
is Isabela's mother, a woman who married a wealthy man and who is advising/guiding her daughter to do the same.

Johnny (Adrián Uribe) is Ana's current, loser boyfriend and her manager.

Thanks for posting this. I've seen the opening episode already and it looks like we're getting a more modern take on The Sound of Music which desperately needs a makeover! Rene Casados will be fun to watch in this one, too.

I am not pleased to see Pablo Montero with 5 o'clock shadow again. He needs to be clean-shaven with the right haircut and wardrobe.

Rafael Inclan will play their father; this should be good.

Hi Jardinera.

Thank you for the interesting, detailed summary. "She's extremely beautiful and knows it. Her gain, everybody else's loss" made me smile.

UA, René Casados is one of my all time favorites and I like Jorge Salinas too.

I'll watch anything with Silvia Navarro in it!

I'm so looking forward to this. Anything with Silvia is a win for me, but add Rene and Jorge and I am one happy camper. With work getting crazier need the lighter fare versus the darkness of Robo I've been watching...can't wait.

Jardinera - Thanks for the summary. Looking forward to getting your recaps again.

Yay, Jorge Salinas is coming back. But, honestly, with seven kids? Wondering if I'll be able to keep up with all of them.

Can't stand Mayrin or one-note Carmen Salinas, but Silvia Navarro more than trumps both of them put together, not to mention that I also like Jorge and Pablo. I'm on board.

I think I'll watch this. Jorge Salinas does nothing for me really, but I love Sylvia Navarro and I think the story will be fun. Seven kids, what a madhouse! (I am one of seven children myself so I know of what I speak!)

I think the character description is funny...he doesn't drink or smoke or enjoy the finer things. Smoking! Such fun! Wheeeee!!! What a dullard he is not to smoke!

Thanks for the summary. I can't wait. This seems like it will great. I hope we're not disappointed.

Is Carmen Salinas related to Jorge Salinas?

The cast looks great, I'm not familiar with Pablo Montero, but I think that if he's playing the playboy brother of a respected businessman, a 5 o'clock shadow fits.
I'm also not familiar with Adrian Uribe, he looks like he's going to play a smarmy character.

Mayrin Villanueva will probably do better in a vixen role instead of the goody twoshoes she played the last time I saw her.

I can't wait for the sparks to fly between Sylvia and Jorge.

What's funny will be a widower who by description doesn't drink, smoke, or otherwise enjoy the finer things in life, is going to fall in love with a woman who is a pole dancing stripper. And that this story mimics the Sound of Music, where the woman who becomes the nanny was a nun. Will these 7 children sing too?

I'm with you Julia, I don't find anything attractive about Jorge Salinas but I will watch anything with Sylvia Navarro, my mom and I have girl crush on her! Her acting is phenomenal!

I think the story reminds me more of "The King and I" The character's name is also Anna right? But isn't The Sound of Music based on that story?

Thanks for the summary Jardinera. Wish this weren't a comedy, which is my least favorite type novela. I'm going to give it a try since it would be very hard for me to pass up Silvia, Jorge or Mayrin.

I've watched a few episodes, which only made it more clear for me that Televisa doesn't do comedy right. Or at least, it's not my style of comedy.

With that being said, I would watch Silvia Navarro no matter what (after AB she could do no wrong in my eyes). She is good in her role and it's refreshing seeing her play something different.
Jorge Salinas ni me va ni me viene (I could take him or leave him), but I'm willing to give him a chance.

I can't seem to keep my attention more than 30 secs on most of the comedies, but I love Silvia Navarro. She and Jorge Salinas really had good chemistry in the movie they did together. I think it was called "Labios Rojos", but I could be way off base here!

Urban, I so agree about the 5 o'clock shadow luke. I'm beginning to think that some of these men who have rapid facial hair growth have it written into their contracts that they can look scruffy.

That's my theory.

I think Pablo Montero is like a lot of the men I know; his facial hair is so thick and grows so fast that it's very hard for him not to have visible scruff. He would probably have to shave three or four times a day during filming in order to look consistently clean-shaven all the time. And not keeping it consistent would be a continuity problem (not that telenovelas worry about continuity of the visuals as much as some other shows do).

A number of years back, I was in India and traveling around with a Bollywood movie crew. The galan of the movie they were filming grew facial hair so rapidly that they had to stop filming every few hours to shave him in order for him to consistently look clean shaven, sans 10 o'clock, 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 5 o'clock...shadow.

Cathyx, I don't think they're related.

Pablo Montero played in two other novelas with Jorge (QBA and FELS) and from other stuff I've seen he's actually a good bet in romantic comedy. In Rebeca his scenes with Gaby Espino were the reason to watch.

You will all hate me for this but I can't stand listening to children sing. So I hope they don't.

He could wax it and then it should last a couple weeks at least, but that is probably considered unmanly or something.

she UA, I also hate to hear children singing. Unless it's the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Otherwise, no.

I LOVE Jorge Salinas. When I first saw him, I was like 'meh', but after watching him act, I fell into a deep deep love for that man and his puppydog eyes.

Julia & Lily,
Jorge Salinas does nothing for me either. I might give this one a try because I do love Sylvia Navarro. Let's hope it's a keeper.

Hi, Y'all! Glad to see that despite it being a comedy we're all willing to give it a try due to Silvia Navarro. I've seen her and Jorge both do comedic scenes in some of the dramas over the years and they have fabulous comedic timing. Their scenes together should be terrific.
=============
BTW--We still need a Wednesday recapper for the 8/7pm slot. Help????

Jardinera, you can put me in for wednesdays if you have not pencilled me in for any day.
I can't wait to see Sylvia, Rene and Jorge together, and the comedy and storyline sound good.
when i read the storyline, I too thought of 'the king and I', Lily. never seen sound of music from beginning to end so not sure on that comparison.

Martai: I can change the day to Wednesday and we can try finding somebody for Tuesdays instead. No big deal. Thanks!

Urban:
Is "Rebeca" with Pablo Montero and Gaby Espino worth watching?

I loved GE in "Mas Sabe el Diablo" (Remix version on Youtube)with gorgeous, gorgeous JenCarlos Canela.

Should we list Rebeca in our blog "Favorite Novelas"? By the way have you heard anything from BlogMom about making Favorite Novelas part of the Home Page? Hope so.

I don't see where this novela has already aired on the East Coast. Previews say it starts on July 17th. Hope this is correct, even though some bloggers say they've seen the first couple of episodes.

Victoria Gomez: Yes,I think Rebeca is worth watching. I loved it and GE played her role perfectly. I loved seeing a softer side to her when she fell in love with PM in Rebeca.

I love Jorge Salinas though I have only seen in The one who couldn't love? And Silvia Navarro was a must for me til Amor Bravio. I hate novelas involving western (cow boy) themes with the ranches.
Since I'm African and in Africa I'll probably watch this next year.

Thanks for the blog and to everyone that recaps. I have enjoyed reading the ones pertaining novelas I am currently watching like La Patrona and Corazon Indomable ohh... La tempestad too.

Thanks for the recommendation re Rebeca. I'm watching Mi Destino Eres Tu on YouTube with Lucero and Jorge Salinas and love it. If you get YouTube, there are alot of Novelas that are on the website.
I'll definitely look for Rebeca next.

Rebeca is only worth watching for what happens between GE and PM.

When that subplot became popular the writers got lazy about the main plot of the series.

I LOVE JORGE AND SYLIVIA...THEY ROCK. PABLO TOO-DESPITE HIS HAIRY FACE. BUT THE " THE EXTREMLY BEAUTIFUL AND KNOWS IT' LADY DOESNT WORK FOR ME. I HOPE ITS THE LAST SHE WILL ACT. OTHERWISE I LOVE THE KIDS, ESPECIALLY THE TWINS
