Hola! Our two named novelas on this page, El Senor del los Cielos II and En Otra Piel just went to "ultimos capitulos." They will presumably be replaced by the two novelas being promoted on Telemundo: Los Miserables and Señora Acera.

EL OTRA PIEL – Lunes – Part 1
We again see the same flashback of Elena looking like the devil incarnate, seeing Mondriana and Gerardo together. And we see her calling El Pachuco. When he’s angry about the briefcase full of money, she tells him the cops must have gotten there before he did. She reminds him that she said she’d replace it if it weren’t there. She sets up a meeting with him.
Emiliana ignores Lorena when she tries to make nice and, when she’s out of the room, calls Mondriana. Emi wants to know what’s going on and why Cami refuses to let them be together again. Mondriana tells her she’ll manage some way to come see her today.
Gerardo is musing in his office. We see a flashback of his proposing to Mónica Serrano. We see another memory of his of being in bed with Elena, who’s just presented him with a Rolex watch. She says she wants him to seduce her aunt. She tells him she wants the life of a millionaire and everything that Mónica Serrano has. She tells him to conquer her, marry her, and later they’ll share her fortune. He tells her that younger women usually break it off with him when they find out he’s a gigolo. Elena. “But not me.” Back in the present, he says to himself: “Gerardo, you sold your soul to the devil.”
Elena tries to make nice with Camila at the office. Cami tells her that Emiliana hates both her and Lorena for not letting her see Mondriana. Elena, of course, tells her that Emi will get over it soon.
What? At Selma’s it sounded like Mondriana, Selma, and Jorge were discussing telling Emiliana who she really is. But then Tomás shows up. He tells Jorge it won’t be easy getting custody of Emi because he’s a bachelor and has not spent any time with her before. Jorge, emphatically, says that he came when he knew his nieces were orphans. He didn’t come when Julián died because Mónica was there. Jorge insists that they need to convince a judge that that house is not a good environment. Tomás tells them that the video of Gerardo and Elena might not be admissible because it was taken without their consent. Selma wonders if Lorena’s history of alcoholism could serve them.
At Casa Serrano Marta tells Jennifer she should not be afraid to tell Gabriel about the baby.
Eileen, Ricardo and Gabriel come to visit Emiliana in the hospital. They are telling her the funny story that happened Friday when they scared off a caricature client of Gabriel by saying that Eileen was his wife and the mother of his twins.

She gives him $20,000 in an envelope and asks him to get his hands on some poison, the name of which she has on a piece of paper. She tells him he needs to get it on the Chinese black market; and she wants it today!

Mondriana says that Elena has Lorena completely under her thumb and won’t go for it. Selma thinks that Lorena can be convinced because she really does know what kind of person her daughter is. But Jorge thinks she won’t want to rock any boats now because of Elena’s pregnancy. Mondriana thinks that her sister could not deny something that would make Emiliana safe.
Elena asks El Pachuco about Adriana. He tells her the story about how Adriana only worked in one of Carlos’ bars. He wanted her, but she resisted and cut his face open with a broken bottle. He kidnapped her and took her to San Diego to get even. Elena concludes, after hearing this, that Adriana IS a prostitute because she worked in a bar.
Jennifer has come, alone, to the bookstore/apartment to talk with Gabriel. Eileen rushes in talking a mile a minute and making excuses. She thinks Jennifer somehow found out about Gabriel’s flirting.
Diego knocks on Mondriana’s door. He wants to give his best wishes to Emiliana and says he’ll start back with the guitar lessons when she’s better. Mondriana smiles: “I didn’t know you played guitar.” Diego calls her Adriana, meaning, of course, that Adriana knew about the guitar. He goes on to tell her about Eddie wanting to talk with her about Ricalde and the rest of the gang. She seems to be OK with it but asks for some time.
Jennifer tells everyone at the librería that she wants them all: Rodrigo, Eileen, Rick, and Gabriel to come to Doña Lupe’s for what she has to say.
Oh no! El Pachuco comes in with a small box of chocolates that he tells Emiliana are from Mondriana. At first she says she’ll put them away because the hospital wouldn’t want her to have them. But she decides to eat one.
At the hospital Lorena tells Cami that Ricardo, Eileen, and Gabriel came to see Emiliana. Cami asks if Ricardo asked about her. Dense as always, Lorena says no. And, by the way, she didn’t know that Rick and Eileen got along so well!
At Doña Lupe’s pensión, everyone is there for Jennifer’s announcement: Maite, Valeria, Lupe, Ricardo, and Eileen. Jennifer, almost sobbing, asks Gabriel to repeat his wedding vows. He does so. She tells him she’s pregnant. He’s completely stunned at first, and Viewerville wonders if he’ll fail the test. But then he smiles with joy and takes her in his arms. He’s crying as well.
Jorge has come to tell Lorena that he wants custody of Emiliana. Jorge tells Lorena that she’s not to think that he’s implying that Emiliana’s illness is her fault. But he thinks that there’s too much tension in the house. The idiot refuses to consider it. She says that her nieces need to resolve their problems with Elena. He keeps trying. He tells her that Emiliana isn’t even going to school. He goes on to say that Elena and Gerardo getting married is a tragedy for Emiliana.

Selma comes to see Emiliana and she’s pleading with Cami to let the child see Mondriana when Emi starts seizing with convulsions [Oh, please! They’re going with Adriana being blamed for poisoning Emiliana?]
Elena has come to Gerardo’s bedroom to show him a onesie for the non-existent baby. He opens up a box with a ring in it and announces that it’s the most expensive engagement ring in California. “Isn’t that what you wanted?” She explodes. “This is not the way to present a ring like this.” “You don’t give it to me before asking for my hand in front of the whole family.” She says she wants him to ask for her hand at a special dinner and that Adriana be invited to that dinner.
Diego tries to comfort Mondriana when she tells him about how Elena is turning her daughters against her. She tries to pull herself together when her cell rings. It’s Selma calling about the news of Emiliana having convulsions at the hospital. Mondriana faints, and while Diego holds her, Adriana returns. Diego’s joy doesn’t last long. Adriana faints, and Mondriana returns mumbling mí Chiquita.
Gerardo says to Elena: “Who can undrstand you? You say that she’s dangerous and now you want me to invite her to the party.” Elena blathers on about showing Adriana how united the Larrea family is. He calls her on it, saying she just wants to humiliate Adriana. He asks her if she knows what she’s going to achieve: that they’ll be the comidilla de todo el mundo for traicionar la memoria de tu tía. That they’ll be the talk of the town for betraying her aunt’s memory. She won’t budge. She raves on some about wanting to tell their child about the romantic way he asked for her hand.
Gerardo tells Elena tht he won’t stand for Adriana to be at this dinner. If that’s the way she wants it, then forget the engagement. He says he’s willing to leave her flat. She responds that, if he doesn’t do it, she’ll have Adriana arrested. He caves in. But then goes on to make an excellent speech to Elena.
“OK. We’ll make this whole show of being the happy couple, but I won’t do it for fear of ending up in the street, or for what you might do to Adriana or to me and much less because I loved you. If I do it, it’s only to make your life miserable. I’m going to dedicate myself to destroying your life until you beg me to leave!” He stares at her with loathing.

Nanette- I don't know how long the ultimos capitulos are going to be. I have never seen Telemundo go right to UC without ultimas semanas and usually, neuva etapa before that.
I hate the idea of Mondrina getting blamed for poisoning Emi, too. This just can't end too soon.

CIELOS - Martes
Victor asks Ernie who picked up the farewell letter from Isabel, he wants to investigate. Ernie wants him to drop it. Vic asks Chacorta, who says "I forget". Ernie comes up with the idea of saying it was Muffles, a balding, roly poly guard. Muffles agrees to say he was the one.
Toro calls Ernie, says Chema would like to speak to you. Chema tells Ernie to come to the city where he is, they should meet. Ernie agrees, then asks Chacorta for a few days off. Not trusting him, Chacorta has Muffles tail him. Ernie shakes the tail, but I think another guy picked it up, and follows Ernie to some deserted street in Chema's town. I still think Ernie is working for the Casillas's, wants to prove his loyalty by trapping Chema, but I could be wrong.
AC asks Lai where Chema is. She says I don't know exactly, they always put a hood on me, but I think it's right in downtown Guadalajara. AC wants her to trick Chema, and Lai isn't too happy about this. Then AC wants some nookie. Lai says with your Mom in the hospital? What does AC care, he's just horny. Lai is saved when Bert shows up.
Bert wants to go to the hospital to give blood to Alba. Alba's doing a little better, although the doc is reluctant to tell Leo anything. But when the doc kicks Bert out of Alba's room, Leo sees him! Bert and Manotas grabs weapons, and have to get out of the hospital. Both sides call for reinforcements.
Chacorta calls Irma, were you serious about being a mom to Carlitos? She is (and Carlitos will need one, now that Mati is dead).
Monica is upset with Montoya for wanting more drugs, when supplies are tight.
Santiago meets with Xime in jail, says he'll try to help her, tells her Ignacio is going to try to overturn her case, due to Max's losing the trial for political purposes. Xime says someone has to pay for all the Casillas crimes, and I guess it's me. She's not too hopeful about Ignacio. Later, a tough prisoner named La Pancha attacks Xime, but when another tells her that Xime is the widow of the Lord of the Skies, Pancha backs off.
Santiago tells Rutila maybe AC could help Xime, since Xime doesn't think Ignacio's thing will work, or it'll take a while. Santi wants to meet with AC. AC is very hesitant to meet Santiago, but Ruti sweet talks him into it, and Santiago is actually brought face to face with the Lord of the Skies.
Max is upset the Elsa won't answer his calls or see him anymore. What's worse, he's now up for disbarment for throwing the trial! So he could lose his law license AND Elsa.
Bert wants Rutila and Luzmaria to go to Spain. Of course Ruti doesn't want to leave without Ernie. Ernie keeps telling her the two of them will go far away. We've heard that one before.
Garnica and the club are two more problems for Lai.
Tonight we have Bert at the hospital, Ernie at Chema's, and AC meeting with Santiago. Should be exciting!

Jorge is a believer again but the other tia, Lorena, still can't decipher the true intent of her evil spawn. I guess the writers won't return to the "who's your daddy" storyline. Would be funny if it really was Jorge.
Let's hope Mondriana won't be blamed for poisoning Emi. Elena is good at demonizing her before Cami and Lorena.

Thanks Jean. The only Tele TN I watched to the finish was the re-airing of LRDS last year. That one skipped Ultimas Semanas, too, but thought it might have been because it was only 65 eps long.

Ernie's is a bit of a dilemma, he is in awe over "the lord of the skies" but hates Chacorta for killing his uncle, and so far it looks like he is keeping his deal with Chema secret, and I guess no one missed el Toro.
Victor jr. is really the only decent person here, and I wonder how long that will last, although he does seem to be strong with his convictions, this is the guy Santiago should be helping, and I guess Santiago is also a nice guy but I see him falling into a meat grinder.
Lai is sure stepping into the crossfire.

Gerardo continues the, to me, most enjoyable scene of telling Elena what he thinks of her. He tells her she could only get him to marry her with threats. She comes back with the same old, same old. “You love me. You’re mine. You’re the father of my child.” Gerardo: “Don’t kid yourself. I’m just the man who hates you more every day!” Whoa!
Jorge, in the hospital coffee shop, keeps trying to get through to Idiot Lorena. He hints that she really does know what Elena is capable of. He tells her to open her eyes.
At the pensión, EVERYONE wants to be the baby’s godmother.
I hope I never get poisoned in LA. This doctor is calling a neurologist!
Mondriana sneaks into the hospital and spends the whole night by Emi’s bed.
Jorge confronts Elena at the hospital. She starts off by telling him that Mondriana must be the one harming Emiliana (hoping to plant the seed that will grow nicely when the empty box of chocolates with Mondri’s name on it is found). When she tells Jorge she’s going to be talking to the police about Mondriana, Jorge loses it. He tells her she’d better also tell them about getting pregnant by the husband of Emi’s mother, because this is what’s really hurting her. He goes on to tell her that Vicki told him before she died about her having been Julián’s lover.
Gabriel and Rod are planning to work on a book together: Gabriel to do the drawings and they’ll use a sort of sci-fi text Rodrigo wrote long ago.
The increasingly despicable Susana comes to tell Elena about Jen being pregnant. She rattles on about Jennifer only having gotten pregnant because she was jealous of the irresistible Susana! Then she snarks that Jen shouldn’t count on a pregnancy keeping Gabriel; everyone knows this doesn’t work. Poison oozing out of her, she also says that maybe the baby isn’t even Gabriel’s and that these gang guys don’t let go easily.
Mondriana finds the empty box of chocolates and the card with her name on it. She manages to hide it in the fake nurse’s outfit she has on and gets it out of there, so at least this part of Elena’s plan isn’t going to work. Camila comes in and forces Mondri to leave.
Lorena, still delusional about the famous non-existent grandchild that is going to heal all wounds and make everyone in the household love Elena again, remembers and then tells Elena that Jorge is going to sue for custody of Emiliana. Yikes. Jorge is playing with fire!

Gerardo doesn't have anyone like Ernesto to help him battle against Elena. He finally stood up to her, but in her world he's either hers or dead. And yes, the expression on her face at the end was priceless. Not sure why she would care if Emi lived with Jorge since she's wants her out of the picture. But it was clear that she saw it as another threat...especially since Jorge supsects that she murdered Julian. (Actually Julian's death appeared to be unintentional, but she hid it anyway).
Mondriana removed the candy box from Emi's room but its still possible that Emi might mention it.
I wonder what Elena has in store for Pachuco. I had a strange feeling about the messenger she's supposed to send with the money. But then again she'll need someone to do her dirty work and/or to blame for it.

Forgot to comment on the strange conversation between Susana and Elena. Elena could see her weakness and tested her to see how far she would go. Thankfully she didn't want to harm Jen. I see her being sacrificed, especially if she starts to pick up on Elena's evil ways.

AC greets Santiago with something like, so you're the bum who's messing with my wife? Santi keeps his cool, just wants to look out for the children. AC is still mad, they're MY children, and I'll do whatever I want with them! No matter what Santiago says, about sending them to Spain, etc., AC just gets madder, and finally decides just to kill the troublemaker. He raises his gun and fires at Santi's head, but just before he fires, Chacorta rushes in, and pushes his arm up, so the shot goes harmlessly into the wall (ruining something expensive, but we never see). AC lets Santi leave, but says this conversation "never happened".
Of course Rutila immediately asks Santi what happened, Santi says your Dad didn't agree, and Ruti is upset. She later goes back to AC, cries that he never takes her opinion into account, but AC, despite saying he cares about Ruti, isn't budging, and keeps calling her a child, and saying his view rules. Later in the episode, Ruti decides to sneak away. We'll see how far she gets.
In addition to the upcoming problems with Chema, Lai has to continue to have sex with Garnica. Inaki is upset, but Lai says deal with it, loser. The other day Inaki said I'm sorry but I don't know how to help. Lai replied, we both know you're useless.
Monica calls Vicky and wants to meet, Vicky doesn't have time, but after hanging up, says to her assistant, there's something just not right about that Fernanda.
Elsa asks Lucila, if I become governor, what are you gonna want? Luci says I don't want anything, just to be with you. But lots of others will want to "collect".
Victor isn't totally buying that Muffles found that letter from Isabel.
La Pancha is trying to get close to Xime in jail, but the other inmate says don't trust her.
In the hospital, Bert and Leo have both called for reinforcements. There's a brief exchange of gunshots, and Bert and crew almost escape, only to be confronted in the garage, where both sides pull guns. Unfortunately, Bert has twice as many men. But Manotas tells him about the orders not to kill Leo, and they don't. They just force Leo and crew to lower their weapons, and let Bert and crew leave. Leo is frustrated.
She later tells Ramos that AC must have some reason for keeping her alive. In the meantime, they'll pretend to leave the hospital, but she knows that Bert will stick around, because he has a rare blood type needed by Alba. When Bert comes back to the hospital, they'll trap him.
Meanwhile, Ignacio shows up, Leo is mad about that, but he gets her to relax by having some hot sex with her.
Bert returns to the family house, and both he and Chacorta ream out AC for keeping Leo alive. Later, they decide to ignore his orders. They're going to kill the Colombiana anyway!
Ernie is brought into Chema's lair in Juarez. Outside, the guards catch one of Casillas's men, Cente, who had followed in a cab. He's just about to give Chacorta the license plates on the van that picked up Ernie, when the guards grab him. They bring him inside. Ernie is shocked, says I know Muffles was following me, but I gave him the slip. I had no idea Cente was following me.
Tijeras and Chema decide to give Ernie a loyalty test. If you really want to be with us, kill Cente, now! They give him a gun. He hesitates a bit, then DOES IT. Three shots to the head. Chema says good job, kid, I didn't know if you could do it. It's just business, says Ernie. He's now going to work for Chema. He brings up Rutila. Chema says she can live here, too! This is NEVER going to work, and we STILL don't know which side Ernie's on.

If Ernie gets Rutila to go to Chema's, it would have to be some lie. I don't think she would knowingly go from the frying pan to the fire. If she does then Chema has AC right where he wants him. Since there will be season 3, AC is going to win this war.

I held my breath the whole time Camila and Mondri were arguing with each other in Emi's hospital room. I was sure the candy box was going to fall out of Mondri's outfit. Of course, as spanish student points out, she hasn't completely dodged the bullet yet, since Emi might innocently mention that Mondri was considerate enough to send her candies.
I like the plan of Gabriel and his father working together. That's one of the few things that doesn't seem fraught with peril in this novela.

She gave him a look at the end of their convo (after he proved his love for her by making her stay somewhere she's not safe and doesn't want to be) that made me think she might be the reason he's found out. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking. I'm getting a little tired of his self-centeredness.

EN OTRA PIEL, Wed. Pt.1
Elena and Lorena recap their stupidity from last night. Lorena says maybe it would be best letting Emi go, given all the tension in the house, and checks in with Elena’ opinion. Elena does not approve. This is Emi’s house, Lorena is her guardian, and she belongs with them and they should forget Jorge’s stupid idea.
Mondriana tells Diego about Emi’s illness and the chocolate box and accuses Elena. When Diego asks about testing Emi, Mondri reasonable says they won’t find anything if they don’t know what they’re looking for. But Diego knows someone who can examine the box for poison, so it takes it with him.
Selma and Jorge talks and wonder about whether the Julian-Elena is true, and who began it. Sounds like Jorge thinks it was Julian and he’s disgusted by his brother. Selma thinks it was Elena.
Emi tries to get Cami to forgive mondriana, but Sourpuss (she gets her old name back for her stubbornness and inability to trust her own feelings) isn’t having it. Ric enters the room to check on Emi, and Emi pretends to be asleep so he can give Cami a kiss (appropriately since Emi is still there). Emi smiles.
Ger has the box of Ernesto’s ashes. He also has some beautifully manicured fingernails. He recalls being in bed with Elena talking about how to start the seduction of Monica. Even then he thought he had enough money, but she wanted more. She gives him a new name so Monica can’t find out he’s a gigolo. He playfully calls her a demonio. Prescient, Gerardo. Present-day Ger justs shakes his head, and gets a call from Mondri.
Cami and Ric smooch more in Emi’s room until Ric notices she’s awake. She wants his help getting Cami to forgive Mondri, but they can’t talk more because a nurse comes in to do more tests.
Diego takes the chocolate box to Eddie. Eddie wants to know what he’s mixed up in, but Diego won’t tell. He begs Eddie to test the box for poison.
Susanna spies on Jennifer while she (Jen, of course) works. Is it just me or does Jenny look like a completely different person when she has her hair in that working braid? Sue insists that Jen rest, and Sue will bring her lunch later. Sue plays nice and pretends that she wants to put all other stuff behind her. She’s no longer interested in Gabe, and is ashamed of how she behaved. She wants to be friends. Jenny looks a little weirded out, but she gives Sue the hug she wants and then goes to her room to rest. Then Sue goes back to her normal, snippy self.
Mo meets up with Ger in a park. Ger thinks it’s great that she called, until she demands to know if he’s dumped Elena yet. She says his weakness has made Elena more dangerous. She tells him about Emi being poisoned and about the box with Mo’s name on it. She says Elena killed Monica Serrano, and Julian. She knows because of Vicki, who is fortunately dead because Vicki was a terrible liar and would have ruined this story for Mondi.
Eddie still wants more info from Diego, but that’s not happening.

EN OTRA PIEL, Wed. Pt. 2
Ger yells at Mondri about her secrets and he gets slapped. Good! They yell some more, but the only thing important to Mondri is Emiliana. He asked how many times for her to go away with him. If they are in this situation, it’s not his fault. Jerk. Mondri begs him to do something before Elena hurts Emi, but Ger says no. Just “no”. Guao. She can’t believe it. He claims he’s protecting her. She wants him to exhume the remains of Monica Serrano. She tells him she’s going to take Emi far away from them, but he asks how. She’s not the guardian, she’s not the mother. She’s more mother than the rest of them, she says. Manada de hienas! (herd of hienas. Manada seems to work for a herd/pack/whatever of any kind of animal).
Vale and Maite have words about money and shopping or something. I miss it, but it doesn’t sound like a happy conversation.
Jen is making her bed when Gabe surprises her. Little convo about the baby coming out with a shocked look on its face. He brings her a gift: baby shoes for Gabby. Whose Gaby, asks Jen. Gabriela or Gabriel, the baby. Well what about Jennifer, asks Jen. What if it’s a boy? You can’t name a boy Jennifero. (I bet you could). They kiss, and hopefully somewhere Sue’s head is exploding.
Cami agrees with Ric that Mondri didn’t play the piano that night after all, but then who had all the stuff in the basement attic? I don’t’ find out their thoughts because my antenna fuzzes.
When we come back, Marta is in Jen’s room gushing over the baby shoes Group hug!
The doc talks to the family about Emi’s condition. It doesn’t look good, but they still can’t find the cause. All her organs could go, etc. Not good.
Lorena comforts Elena about Emi. Elena’s ready to send her to Europe or whatever it takes to sure her. Elena asks Cami if she can go in to see her (and get the box?), but Cami says no, that wouldn’t be good. Elena looks annoyed but backs off. Cami and Ric go in to see her, and break the news that she has to stay a little longer. She doesn’t want to! It’s “too much” (captioned by Telemundo. Maybe they are trying to sneak in English lessons?)
Diego finds Vale in the pension courtyard. He says hi and tells her he saw Eddie. Little teasing there, and they talk about if Diego didn’t already love Adriana he totally would’ve fallen for Vale, but how nice it is that they can be friends etc. He goes into his room and stops to sit on the bed and remember Adriana’s “episodes”. Then he pulls out the dije. He remembers back in Mexico the time she panicked out about having lost the dije, which probably isn’t the best place to store your soul anyway. Get a safe deposit box. Diego ponders.
Mondri gets to the hospital and finds Emi’s doctor. She tells him that Emi was poisoned.
Lorena and Elena. Pffft. Elena flounces off to the office.
Mondri is begging the doctor to test her (so much for her earlier reason). But if she can’t tell him more, he can’t do anything. He can’t test without having some idea of what kind of poison it is, but Mondri keeps begging. Elena runs into them and yells at her that she’s not allowed to see the girls. Major stink eye from Mondri. Elena demands that she leave ro she’ll call the cops. Mondri is sure that the cops will come, but not for her. Then Mondri threatens Elena that if anything happens to Emi, she’ll kill her. See? Says Elena to the doc. See how dangerous she is? The doc advises security. Elena calls someone to finish the rest of the plan.
Diego talks to Rod about the dije and thinks it has something to do with the episodes his Adriana had.

Rutila goes to Santiago, she wants him to take her to visit Ximena. Santi says sorry, I'm not getting involved, I met with your father, and things didn't go too well. Ruti is a bit shocked that Santi met with AC. (BTW, I don't think Ruti has any clue of who "the Gober" is, or what AC's plan is).
So Ruti decides to go visit Xime on her own. However, she speaks to Bert, and he says he'll send a plane, or something, don't worry about AC, he doesn't have to know. Santiago visits Xime, then Ruti shows up, and has a tearful reunion with her Mom. Xime didn't even know that Alba was in a coma. She tells Ruti to try to care for Luzmaria and Bert, adding that you are the most precious things in world to me, as you were created out of the love I used to have for your father.
Ernie has proved his loyalty by killing Cente, but he wants a few days off to take care of something in Sinaloa before working for Chema. I don't really know what this means. Chema gives him the days off. Ernie is hooded before leaving the hideout. Tijeras doesn't trust him (just as Chacorta doesn't trust him).
AC/Danilo invites Vicky to another dinner. She gets all dressed up sexy, and her aide wonders why she's dressed up for a meeting she had scheduled. Whoops, cancel that meeting! She goes to AC, and AC tells Mónica to leave so she won't be jealous. Mónica refuses to leave, ends up watching AC and Vicky kiss, gets all teary. Later, they lock her in her room, and she throws some furniture around (while AC and Vicky are making love).
Ignacio has a plan. He convinces Alba's doctor that he's going to be killed like all other doctors who attended to AC. But if the doc helps out, they can CATCH him! Yeah, right. So the doc calls the ranch, tells Bert that Alba needs an emergency transfusion. Bert goes off with a bunch of guards in 2 suv's. Leo and Ramos, along with other cops, don riot gear, and stake out the highway into town. They divert the truck onto a side road.
Manotas calls Chacorta who says this smells, come back! But it's too late, as the cops block the SUV's front and back with steamrollers. Chacorta jumps in his own truck, to try and rescue Bert.
As usual the idiot cops didn't plan this too well, and in the firefight, a few of the guards get killed, a few of the cops get killed. Bert makes a run for the woods. Leo runs after. Ignacio has shown up, too, wisely donning a bullet proof vest, and also runs after those two. Ramos and the other cops have the rest of the drug guys surrounded, but here comes Chacorta, and he, Manotas and the others escape (but they didn't have time to go back for Bert).
Bert is cornered behind a stump, Leo and Ignacio yell for him to give himself up, they promise they'll ask for the minimum sentence possible, but at least he'll live. Ignacio walks toward Bert, drops his weapon, says you can trust me. Bert throws down his AK-47, comes out, saying okay, I'll surrender. But as he approaches Ignacio, we see he has another gun behind his back. He pulls it out, shoots Ignacio, and Leo has to shoot. She hits Bert twice, and he's dying. She rushes to him, pleading don't die, but Bert laughs saying you'll have this on your conscience forever, and dies! Ignacio is okay (the bullet proof vest).
The second Bert dies, Doña Alba's eyes pop open. She woke up from her coma!
Vicky and AC/Danilo are in post coital bliss, in bed, when Vicky's phone rings. It's Leo saying everything went wrong, I'm so sorry, but I just killed Bert! AC says to Vicky, what was it? She looks at him, and says my security chief just called to say she killed the son of Aurelio Casillas!!!! AC's face turns to stone.
No show tonight, awards show. I don't know how AC is going to control his emotion, but we'll find out Friday!

I'm thinking Ernie is being an all-knowing teenager that is smarter than everyone else and hasn't told anyone his great plan, and earlier when Chema invited him to sit and eat, Tijeras gets up and leaves, but was it smart of Chema to show Ernie the bat cave, their tunnel under the border that he acquired after killing Topo, ??, in the first season.

Im sure Mondriana hates hearing Gerardo obsess over leaving with her. He clearly doesnt care about the girls (he's heard Elena threaten them) and only thinks of himself. What a louse.

I was looking at Telemundo's web site and was reminded that Mi Corazón Insiste was voted novela del año instead of La Reina del Sur. Unbelievable!
I disagreed with about 80% of the winners. It was interesting that there was a lot more music and a lot more music awards than telenovela awards.

Can someone explain to me the context of the word "fregados" in this show? They use it quite often, and my definitions do not fit.
The acting on this is superb. The look in AC's eye as he held the Gober and tried to control his emotions. The tear running down Lai's cheek as she told Chema of Heriberto's death. The reaction of Ximena...these people have me in tears, and I then I realize they are gangsters!

EN OTRA PIEL – VIERNES
Just a brief recap. Mondriana and Elena have a big fight outside the hospital. Elena accuses her of trying to steal Gerardo. Mondri keeps begging her to leave the girls alone. Elena gives a little smile and says the doctors can’t find what’s wrong with Emi and she doubts they ever will. At one point, E turns her back and M repeats exactly what Mónica used to say to her when she was a little girl. This almost softens the hardest heart in novelaland, but only for a second. Mondri ends up telling her that if anything happens to Emi, she’ll kill her.
Lorena and Jorge argue in the hospital lobby. He tells her to her face that she’s the wrong person to protect Emiliana because she puts her daughter first. He also tells her she’s manipulated by Elena and is a puppet.
We see Pachuco squirt something on the food on Emi’s tray outside her room.
Mondri calls Jorge and tells him not to let anyone give Emiliana anything.
Diego has gone to the cop shop to see Eddie. Eddie tells him there’s no poison residue on the box of chocolates they tested, but they did find fingerprints of Fulgencio Soto, aka El Pachucho.
Elena tells Pachuco that her plan is to make Mondriana suffer by harming Emiliana. He says she’s more sadistic than Carlos Ricalde.
Eddie again threatens Diego with deportation if he doesn’t say who is the family that had the box with EP’s fingerprints on it. Desperate to protect Mondriana, Diego gives him Gerardo Fonsi.
The doctor says Emiliana’s vital signs are OK, but he’s a bit concerned she’s sleeping so much.
Gerardo tells Elena to her face that he believes she’s harming Emiliana. He mentions the poisoned chocolates that she had convulsions after eating. He gets right in her face and tells her he told her a thousand times to leave Mónica’s children alone.
Mondriana is worried about Elena having her deported. She tells Tomás about she and the other girls having been brought to the US against their will to be used as prostitutes. He tells her they have an excellent chance for asylum because they were brought against their will and risk reprisals in Mexico.
Elena and Gerardo argue some. She tells him she’d be incapable of harming her cousins. Just then Jennifer comes down the stairs and looks shocked. Elena shrieks at her. Elena tells Gerardo she had a “friendly chat” with Mondriana at the hospital. She lies and tells him she told Mondri she saw she and Gerardo kissing,
Emiliana wakes up. Camila is in the room with her. Emi tries to walk to the bathroom, but her legs give out underneath her. She cries out to Cami that she can’t feel her legs.
Geez. This gets more and more depressing.

I'm really getting tired of this show because I feel like nothing is progressing and then BAM! Finally we have proof that monica wasn't involved with the chocolates and it's all Pachuco this time but I hope everything can be resolved soon, I want to see some justice happening.
Also I really hope we get to see Gerardo being a hero and an actual human being, I feel like he just stands around does nothing but watch.
I know it sounds unrealistic in the novella world but sometimes I wish Monica could just take sourpuss by the hand and just drag her to a piano store lol

Almost the entire show was everyone's reactions to Bert's death.
Before I get into that, here's what I think fregado means. Literally it means scrubbed, as in cleaning a plate. But they used it to mean screwed over. Sometimes it's close to quebrado, which is to break, but is used to mean kill, or destroy.
Now, back to the story. The cops zip up Bert's body bag. Yep, he's dead. The news spreads fast. Here's how people react.
Garnica: He's pissed that he didn't hear about the operation (too busy getting nookie in the brothel). But he puts on his general's coat, and tells the press it's another strike for the Anti-Drug Unit against that scourge of the druglords. Leo won't talk to the press, and when Garnica is hesitant to commit a lot of people to protect her and Ignacio, she says she can protect herself!
Victor, Rutila, Luzmaria, tears, sadness, they hug each other for support.
Ximena in jail - stunned, when La Pancha says let it all out, Xime says no, I want to hold onto my anger.
Monica - Feels bad for AC, but is also worried that if he goes for revenge, her baby to be could be fatherless.
Lilo - tells AC to manage this with calmness. Yeah, right.
Chema - tells Tijeras not to go to Colombia, Chema has everything completely planned out, and this will fit into his plan. Huh?
Ignacio - tells Leonor it's not her fault, and he seems more gung ho than ever in fighting the druglords. He says in a war, people die.
Elsa - only cares about herself. And when Lucila gives mild threats about all of Elsa's unsavory business partners, Elsa says if I go down, you do, too!
Helga - life was fine at the pool in Spain, but reality has now hit.
Lai and Inaki - may have to go back to Spain, things are not looking good here.
Alba - hasn't been told, although she knows Bert gave her blood.
AC - when Vicky tells him, he struggles mightily to control himself, and appears to be having some kind of medical episode. Vicky has no idea of the truth, so wants him to see a doctor, take it easy. He tells her he has "important business" to take care of, and sends her home.
The Doctor - tells Chacorta some medical bull about why did he need Bert to give an emergency transfusion, and then Alba completely recovered on her own. Chacorta doesn't fully buy it, telling Manotas that after Alba recovers, kill the doctor, just to be on the safe side (!)
AC tells Chacorta, why didn't you take care of my son? Chacorta retorts, me? Bert and I kept telling you to kill the Colombiana, but nooooo! We had her cornered just yesterday, but let her go, because of your orders. AC looks at him, and says you're right! It's my f'in fault. Then can we kill her now? asks Chacorta. Yes, kill em all, Leo, Ignacio and Ramos. Actually, start with that lawyer of Ximena (Max, I think, or maybe he means Ignacio). As for Leo, I want to see her SUFFER first!
This is good for us viewers, because if they just killed Leo, Ignacio and Ramos tomorrow, how would they fill out the other 3 weeks of the show? So maybe Leo will be imprisoned and tortured for a while. What fun!
Seriously, I'm not going to watching Season 3, if they have one. Despite all the tears, I feel NOTHING for AC, Chacorta, Alba, even Ximena and Rutila. To me, they're all deserving of their fate, even Rutila, who had many chances to break with Ernie, but didn't. And then lied to everybody who loves her.
Oh, poor AC is suffering. Not enough for me.

I think I am going to bail after one season, too; it is just way too heavy for me. I don't know that my Spanish comprehension improved at all! I do think the actors did a great job with their roles.

As for Leo, Ignacio pointed out that she's "not a killer" the first time he set up a meeting with Leo and Bert. She wanted Bert to pay for his crimes in jail, but like all noble cops, tries to avoid killing the bad guys, if possible. That's why she feels bad now.

Maria, i agree with your comments. Gerardo is indeed useless, and there's no reason why Cami shouldn't know who Mondri is...before Andriana returns. Even Diego wasted months pondering the same thing. Elena's power, manipulation, and control have been the main theme. I enjoyed it the first few month but now i'm disappointed that certain story lines were not developed so that others could be extended. I hope it ends soon.

then Leo feeling sorry that she killed Heriberto and making sure everyone knows it was her, more fregados
and I have no sympathy for anyone, except maybe Luzmarie or Victor jr., but I don't see them ever leaving the money, and someone needs to tell Santiago there are no nice guys in this story.
and Victoria's whispering voice and affair with Aurelio is just creepy
while boy Ernie is hard at work on his merit badge.
(so if you pronounce Chemo's name different it becomes like chemo therapy).
over a month of 'ultimos capitulos', that's a first, maybe there is something else in between.

hospitals are a real nightmare in novelas.

maybe beady eyed Eddie will discover Geraldo's real name and blow his cover, which seems to be keeping him from ratting on Elena. (actually I'm thinking Geraldo will jump in front of a bus to save the day)

I've been eager to see this TN end for months now. I'm hoping next week will be the last one, but someone mentioned that Cielos is in últimos capítulos and it still has another month to run. Arrgh. I hope that's not true for En Otra Piel.

If Señora Acero is starting Sept. 24, then Los Mis ought to start earlier because EOP went into Últimos Capitulos a few days earlier than Señor but I haven't seen a promo. Can't happen too soon.

I just watched, I actually had a tear in my eye about Berto.
Rafael played his scenes perfectly.
In real life, the son didn't die, he eventually took over the cartel. He was acquitted of money laundering but there were other charges. Unclear whether he is in jail. His family did try to keep him out of the family business by sending him to Europe, so that part is pretty close to the TN.
I just watched, I actually had a tear in my eye about Berto.

Thanks for the recapette, Novelera. Your dedication to this novela is awe inspiring. I can't describe my feelings when saw that Emi seems to be paralyzed.
I'm with everyone else - this turkey just can't end soon enough but I'm afraid that we still have a while. Los Mis promos still say "pronto," not "muy pronto" and I believe that means that its grand final has to be at least a week after that of Señor! Sigh.
