Ulisses gets ready for his outing and Acacia drives up. He tries to kiss her hello but she pushes him away. She says she will never go anywhere with him now that she found out he wants to destroy the town park. I assure you that I will be the first to protest this. I don't know how much money you think you will gain, but realize that your project will never happen. Have you seen my plans asks Ulisses. No, and I'm not interested in anything that you have to say replies Acacia. I hate people who lie. Ulisses tells her to first take a look at his plans before throwing accusations.

Esteban gets onto Cris for allowing Acacia to see Ulisses.

Ulisses explains his green project to Acacia who quickly asks him to forgive her. She can't believe she caused all that drama and lost her chance with him. He comments on how beautiful she is when she's mad.

Esteban reproaches Cris for not listening to him. Cris tries to explain that she did tell Acacia. So then your daughter doesn't listen to you says Esteban. Or course, she does says Cris. Acacia went to talk to him about it. Cris is happy that Esteban still worries about her daughter. My daughter is grown yet you still see her as a little girl needing protection. She may appear grown, but she is still innocent and don't want anyone to take advantage of her replies Esteban. That is why I love you says Cris. They smooch and he says it's time for breakfast but she declines. Her stomach is hurting a bit. He becomes concerned and wants to take her to the doctor but she declines.

German aka big sexy explains to Ana/Alejandra that if she has any questions, feel free to ask. They are there to help her. So I have the job she asks. But under one condition replies German. Alejandra becomes nervous but big sexy says he wants her to start today so that the secretary can show her the ropes.

Cris's parents show up for her birthday. Juan Carlos, her father, notices how happy she is. Of course says Cris. Now that I have my daughter here. Esteban orders El Rubio to go to town and get the alcohol for the party. But warns him that if one bottle is missing, he will be in big trouble.

Ulisses and Acacia are running around town and then take a bicycle trip to the forest. They take pictures. Acacia thanks Ulisses for bringing her. She didn’t think that you would want to spend time with her after what she did. And miss this time together, your smile and to have you close asks Ulisses. He leans in for a kiss and they start smooching.

Big Sexy sends the secretary home. Alejandra comes in saying she finished her work but notices big sexy is the only one in the office. I sent her home replies big sexy. Acacia finally makes it back home. Cris lets Acacia know that her grandparents have arrived which makes her happy. Esteban shows up and says he's glad that she realized that Ulisses is not a good person. I believed what my mother told me but found out things are not they way they appear replies Acacia. He showed me his plans and I am behind him on this. Esteban says he knows their relationship is not on the best of terms but don't let that sway your decision. I am not only going to stand behind him on his project but also will go out with him says Acacia and storms off. Esteban tells Cris that she cannot allow this. Cris goes off to talk to Acacia.

Cris stops Acacia and says they have to talk. Acacia agrees but says she doesn't want Esteban up in her business. I disagree says Cris. I appreciate him telling me what type of guy Ulisses is. Acacia defends Ulisses and says his project is completely green. Talk to your husband and have him look at it before he opens his big mouth against it.

She finds out that Alejandra will be working with her husband and quickly goes to get Esteban so that they can finally meet.

Esteban asks Luisa if she wants to take over the secretary position at the co-op. Before she can answer, Cris walks up with Acacia and Alejandra. She introduces them and says that Alejandra will be the new secretary at the co-op. Luisa is disappointed but thanks Esteban for asking her. Luisa walks off upset. Cris asks what's wrong? I just offered her the position at the co-op. Acacia runs off after Luisa and Alejandra looks sad.

Acacia chases down Luisa and apologizes for what happened. She didn't know that Luisa wanted the job. Luisa says she really doesn't want to leave her grandmother alone but wanted to better herself so that Manuel's mom will stop seeing her as a servant. What are you saying asks Acacia. You like Manuel? I don't like him replies Luisa. I love him.

Alejandra feels bad and tells Esteban that she can find another job. Esteban tells her that the position is hers and is glad that one of Acacia's friends landed the job. I also want you to feel comfortable while you are here. It will be my and Cris's pleasure to help you.

A couple of goons come to pay a visit to Danilo. He came for the merchandise. Danillo says he wants to talk alone and sends Perla and the other goon to leave them alone. Pervy guy watches Perla walk away. Danillo pours the goon a drink and tells him he was robbed. I will pay you what you would have gained for the sale of the merchandise. But I have other salers says goon man. I will also pay them says Danillo. I just don't want this situation to be known to anyone else. They toast in agreement.

Alejandra feels bad for taking the job away from her friend. Acacia says she will find another way to help her. God has given her so much. El Rubio comes into the kitchen wanting a taste of the food Luisa is preparing. She knocks his hand away and says that he should be helping set the tables. Acacia goes to greet Ulisses with a kiss. He brought her mother some chocolates and her a rose.

Esteban thinks it's a good idea to mingle with Ulisses. And if he is wrong about the project he will admit it. Cris thanks him. She wants to trust Acacia and doesn't want Esteban bothered by it. Juan Carlos is worried about his daughter. Norberto tells him to calm down. They must have reached the hospital by now. Luisa comes in and asks what are they going to do with the food? Her grandmother doesn't want it to go to waste. Manuel comes in with Juliana who is explaining to him that Cris fainted and Esteban took her to the hospital. Norberto tells Manuel that Acacia cannot be alone at this time and to go to her. Manuel looks at Luisa and leaves. Norberto and Juliana give her the stink eye.

Ulisses tries to comfort a scared Acacia. I lost my father and if I lost my mother....Ulisses quickly hugs her. The doctor comes in and says Cris is in grave danger but they brought her in time. Esteban asks what's wrong and the doctor says salmonelosis.

Luisa comes in and says that Cris's mother said to divide all the food between the workers. And the alcohol too says El Rubio. He grabs a bottle and sticks it into his shirt. Luisa starts to get onto him, but Rosa stops her. It's not the time to think of stupid little things. Especially since we don't know what is going on with Cris.

Acacia thanks Ulisses for standing by her side. I cannot stand to lose my mother. My father was the best. When he died, I felt I lost everything. My mother is a wonderful woman. She studied hard to save the hacienda. She is always taking care of others. I am a bad daughter for not allowing her to be happy with the man she loves. I may have differences with your stepfather but I saw him really worried about your mother says Ulisses. I just wished my mother had met someone to love her. You don't know what your saying replies Acacia. Of course I do says Ulisses. She can't just dedicate her life to being a mother. She must feel alone now that my brother and I are grown.

Carlos gets a call from Esteban letting him know that Cris has salmonelosis. He thought it was appendicitis. They will be by later to see her.

Ulisses says he's leaving but if she needs anything to call him. Remember that I care about you and goes in to kiss her. Esteban on the phone sees this. Ulisses walks away and Esteban walks up to Acacia while giving orders on the phone. The doctor comes up and says Cris can receive visitors know. The crisis is over. But only one person can visit at a time. Acacia and Esteban look at each other.

Big sexy and Alejandra arrive inquiring on Cris's health. Her mother says she's doing better she has salmonelosis. Big sexy offers to take them to the hospital. He introduces Alejandra to his parents and she has a scared look on her face.

Acacia tells Esteban to go see Cris. She loves him the most. Esteban tells her to go. Her mother loves no one more than her. Esteban asks the doctor if perhaps he would allow them to go see her together. He agrees.

Norberto shakes Alejandra's hand as she remembers her first encounter with him. She almost faints and says she needs water. Big sexy says she's timid but is doing her job well. Norberto smiles and looks at Juliana who gives him the stink eye.

Acacia and Esteban go to see Cris. Acacia is so worried. She doesn't want to lose her like she did her father. Cris tells her not to worry. The worst is over. She just feels bad that the party had to be canceled. Both Acacia and Esteban tell her that it's not important. At least something good came from all this. You are both together and not fighting. Because you are the most important person to us.

Big sexy thanks Alejandra for accompanying him to drop off the grandparents at the hospital. She wanted to see Cris, but didn't think it was good for her to have so many people visiting. El Rubio tries to kiss Luisa while she is trying to fight him off. He wants to marry her. She says he's crazy and he says crazy for you. He grabs her by the hair and kisses her. Alejandra is crying when she hears Luisa. She runs up and finds the empty wine bottle and hits El Rubio over the head with it. He falls to the ground with blood spilling out of his head.

Acacia says she is only agreeing to the truce for her mother. Esteban understands and asks that whatever bothers her about him to tell him. He will try to change. The only thing that bothers me is that you married my mother shortly after my father died answers Acacia. I understand that you don't want to change that for your convenience. Luisa wonders if Alejandra killed him. Of course not replies Alejandra. He may have an injury on his head but he will get up. El Rubio groans and sits up. Luisa tells him she wished she was able to do it but was up against the wall. El Rubio asks who did it then and Alejandra points the broken bottle at him and says she's Acacia's friend. Don't you ever think about bothering Luisa again or do you want me to tell your patron?

Acacia's grandmother says Cris told her that Acacia and Esteban have put aside their differences because they were so worried about her. He proposed a truce while my mother is sick so that she doesn't become worried replies Acacia. And I accepted. Her phone rings and it's a message from Ulisses. She shows her grandparents a picture of Ulisses. He suddenly shows up with a package.

El Rubio says he's doing nothing wrong. He is just declaring his love to Luisa. He leaves. Luisa says she thought that Alejandra was timid but can see she is not. Are you okay asks Alejandra. You came just in time says Luisa. Thank you. I owe you one. Alejandra says she can't stand guys like that and when Luisa asks her why she suggests they go to sleep. It's getting late.

Esteban tells Cris that he and Acacia called a truce. He will take this opportunity to gain her confidence. He will do whatever he needs to to make their relationship work.

Ulisses is happy to hear that Cris is better. He just came by to drop some things off to Acacia. Juan Carlos tells his wife to accompany Acacia to change while he invites Ulisses for coffee. They leave. Juan Carlos says he's sure that Acacia told him that she has lived with them since she was 9 years old. I am like a second father to her. Ulisses says he is glad that she has someone to look after her and take care of her. He knows that her relationship with her stepfather is not good.
