La Malquerida, capitulo 20. 09/19/14.

Skipping the old.....

Acacia is telling the grandparents about managing the hacienda while Cris and Esteban are on their honeymoon. Norberto eavesdrops on the conversation. He finally walks in looking for a watch he left at the wedding. Acacia leaves to ask Rosa about it and Norberto takes the opportunity to tell the grandparents that if Acacia needs any help managing the hacienda, to contact him. Luisa comes in with the watch and Norberto leaves.

Norberto is eavesdropping on the conversation that Acacia is having with the grandparents when Ale strolls on up. Norberto explains he came looking for his watch that he left at the wedding. They talk about someone needing to make blankets or whatever. Anyway, Norberto reiterates that if Acacia needs any help managing the hacienda to contact him.

Juan Carlos advises Acacia to keep quiet about the going on's at the hacienda. He doesn't want anyone all up in their business. Acacia leaves to get lunch and Elena asks Juan Carlos why he said that. He knows Norberto is trying to take advantage since he tried before with Cris when Alonso died.

Juliana visits an exclusive hair salon. She wants a new look now that her life will be changing forever. I wonder if they can remove the permanent pissy face that she always wears.

Arturo is on the Mexican version of Facebook or something similar. Ulises catches him. He says Luisa accepted him as a friend and was just reading up on her. Unfortunately he lives in San Jaciento. Ulises suggests he pay her a visit on his days off. It's only an hour's drive from San Jaciento and he can stay at his apartment. Arturo says he will take him up on his offer. He really likes Luisa. Ulises breaks the news that Luisa was playing tonsil hockey with a guy that she liked after the wedding. Arturo says he at least can be friends with her. Carmen walks up and says everything is packed and ready to go. Dr. Andres walks up informing Carmen that the car is ready for them to leave. She goes to get her bag and Dr. Andres congratulates Arturo on a beautiful wedding. If he ever gets married again, he will ask him to do the wedding. Arturo looks away sad. Can we say awkward moment? Carmen walks up and asks if everything is okay. Dr. Andres tells her that her boys love her bunches.

Back at the house of unlimited happiness, Norberto is yelling for his capataz. He wants to know if his wife came back from El Soto yet. The capataz thought that his lady love was going to San Jaciento. He even loaded the suitcase. Norberto grabs the capataz by the collar and calls him an idiot. My wife does not leave without my permission. Understand?

Juliana is trying to pay with her card and it gets declined. The saleslady asks for another. As she walks away with the new card, Juliana's phone rings. It's Norberto but she doesn't answer. Instead she calls Dr. Andres office to find out when he will be in the office. She finds out tomorrow and says she will be there. The saleslady comes back with her receipt and Juliana wants to also buy shoes and a handbag to go with her new outfit. The saleslady says she must be going to a special meeting tomorrow. Juliana says one that she has been waiting for a long time.

Norberto tells the boys that their mother abandoned them. She went to San Jaciento with a suitcase. She also asked for a divorce. Manuel can't believe it. Norberto says that's how women are. You run out of money and they leave. But she has to return. German aka big sexy says the only reason she left is because you treat her bad. Norberto yells in his face that the only reason he does is because she doesn't complete her wifely duties. (Ummm, TMI dude. TMI). Just so you know, she married me for my money. German yells back that it's a lie. But Norberto insists it's the truth. Instead of Juliana staying and offering her support she leaves. German aka big sexy aka Mr. Romantic insists she married him for love. Manuel on the other hand is only concerned that they have money problems. Norberto says they need more land so they can plant, but German reminds him that they can't even sell what they are growing now. Manuel wants to know where the money went for all the animals they sell. German says that money barely covers the cost of running the hacienda. If they would just quit betting at the cock fights, things would be better. Norberto maturely says it's his money, but German points out it's all of theirs. Norberto thinks he can get out of the situation. He has a plan.

Esteban and Cris are enjoying their yacht trip. He tells her he ordered the captain not to come on deck. Have you ever made love on the ocean? Well you are about to. You drive me crazy and they start the dance of love.

German asks Norberto for answers on his plan to take them out of debt. Norberto tells him not to worry his big sexy self about it. And he tells Manuel that he doesn't want Acacia or her peeps to know about their problems. German leaves in a tizzy fit. Manuel tells Norberto that he knows he will be able to get them out of this problem. He thinks they should go bet on the cock fights to get them out. Norberto tells him to shut it. He's an idiot. Manuel wonders why he's being mean and Norberto says because of your behavior at the wedding with Ulises. Manuel thought he wanted Ulises out of the running but Norberto says don't be so obvious about it. You think Acacia wants to see you after what you did to her little boyfriend? I want you to go and apologize to her and her idiot boyfriend. Whether you want to or not. When Manuel gets up to go at once, Norberto tells him to wait until tomorrow. When the dust has settled.

Esteban is opening up champagne and Cris says today was an unforgettable day. He says they still have the return trip. Cris loves how beautiful it is watching the sunset on the water. He tells her that she is like the sun. He thought that way from the moment they met. Beautiful and bright in every moment. Cris says she has more light now because of how happy she is. Esteban says he wants her by his side forever. This love I have for you is real. Without you I am nothing. They smooch.

Juliana tells German that he knows how her relationship is with his dad. More drinking and gambling every day. He understands but doesn't think leaving was the answer. You have to talk things out. Juliana says she came to San Jaciento to consult an attorney. German didn't think things were that bad. Whatever she decides, he will support her.

Cris and Esteban talking more about how much they love each other.

Ulises pays a visit to Acacia. He says he told his mom about wanting to marry her but understands they have to wait awhile first. She wants to visit lots of places with him first and asks where he wants to go. Anywhere you want to is his reply and they start smooching. Acacia wonders how her mom and Esteban are doing. She misses them. She has to take care of the hacienda while they are away. Ulises offers his help but Acacia thinks she can handle it. Rubio will take care of selling the cotton but she will pay the buyer a visit to make sure things are okay. She wants Cris and Esteban to be proud of her when they come back. They start smooching and Manuel catches them. He puts on his happy face and says he's happy to see them together and happy. Manuel wants to apologize for the accident yesterday. Ulises points out that it wasn't. He tries to grab Acacia but Ulises grabs his arm and pushes it away. Manuel pleads with Acacia. Do you really I would have done that on purpose and come apologizing to you now? I swear it was just an accident. Acacia tells him to forget about it and just leave.

Luisa is walking outside alone. This girl will never learn. She spots Manuel and says that her grandmother wants to talk to him. She runs up and kisses him.

Ulises thinks it's not a good idea for Acacia to be friends with Manuel. He is still interested in her. Acacia thinks he has moved on with Luisa. Ulises doesn't think it's a good idea and tells her to warn Luisa. He still wants you. Shouting from Rubio as he runs in and tells Acacia that the cotton is on fire.

Workers are trying to get into the building where the cotton is kept and there is an explosion.

Acacia tries running after Rubio to assist. Ulises tells her to stay and tell the grandparents. Acacia doesn't want to waste any time. They need to get the fire out.

Manuel pulls away from Luisa and thinks this is not such a good idea. Why asks Luisa. I love you and after our kiss yesterday.....Manuel interrupts. He doesn't remember kissing her. He was too drunk. He apologizes. He knows she is a decent girl. Suddenly Luisa notices the fire and they run to the burning building. Dumbass Acacia runs into the burning building trying to push out the pallets of cotton. Ulises runs in after her.

Luisa runs into the house and tells Rosa and the grandparents that the building is on fire. Elena wants to know where Acacia is. Luisa says the dumbass ran to the fire with Rubio and Ulises. Ale is frantic. Juan Carlos wants to go and Elena tells him that it's a bad idea. He's not well. Juan Carlos says my daughter's hacienda is burning and my granddaughter ran to that fire. Elena prays that God will protect everyone.

The workers are moving out the bales of cotton under the directions of Ulises. Dumbass runs in trying to help but Ulises drags her out. He runs back in and the fire is getting worse.

Acacia issues orders for the cows to be moved. Manuel runs up offering assistance. They run off together to the stables? Norberto is behind some trees watching the fire. Guess we know who started it.

Elena wants to call the honeymooners but wise Ale suggests she doesn't. They can't do anything from where they are and it will just worry them. Wait until the fire is out and we find out what happened. Rosa suggests they pray instead.

Juan Carlos tells Acacia she has no business being at the fire. Acacia says she has to help and runs off.

Norberto is guzzling himself a congratulatory drink while throwing away some matches? Couldn't tell. German walks in and informs Norberto that the guy that sells the pig feed wants his money tomorrow. Norberto says to tell the guy they will pay at the end of the week. How asks German. We have no money coming in. Norberto says they will soon and more than enough. He takes another drink and asks where Manuel is. He wants to eat dinner. He finds out that Manuel went to see Acacia. He gets angry and says told Manuel not to go and he also forbid German to go.

The workers have brought fire extinguishers. Juan Carlos tells Ulises to get Acacia aka dumbass at this point, out of the burning building.

Acacia and Manuel each have a fire extinguisher and are trying to put out the fire in the freaking burning building. She finally sees it's to late and suggests they leave. Of course a burning beam falls and Manuel pushes her out of the way. The beam knocks him out and falls on his arm still burning. Ulises runs in as another beam falls. He takes her out and runs back in to help Manuel.

German wants to know why Norberto doesn't want them at the Benevente. Because I want to eat dinner with you boys now that your mother abandoned us yells Norberto. Are you boys going to do the same? German decides to call Manuel.

Juan Carlos leads Acacia away from the fire scolding her all the way. Ulises has finally pulled out Manuel but his arm is still on fire. Juan Carlos takes a bucket of water and throws it on Manuel's burning arm which makes him wake up screaming.

Norberto is pissed that they couldn't get a hold of Manuel. German offers to go find him but his phone rings. Ale is calling to inform him that the cotton is on fire and Manuel is here helping. Norberto says they need to go and help.

An ambulance shows up while Manuel is withering around in pain on the ground yelling that his arm hurts. They put him on the stretcher and Manuel apologizes for not helping more.

Elena can't take it anymore and wants to go and see what is going on. Rosa informs her everyone is gone. They should just finish preparing dinner. If no one shows up soon, she will go herself and find out.

Acacia is upset. Those injured need to go to the hospital. Ulises promises to take care of it but just wants her to have her head examined since she has a cut. She doesn't care about that. The EMT says that Manuel could possibly lose his arm. She wants to ride with him to the hospital. Ulises sends her off with a promise that he and Juan Carlos will handle everything.

Juliana is reading a letter from Andres with a smile on her face. Her mother walks in asking what she is doing? Juliana says she found an old box in her room of Andres and was recalling memories. Her mother thinks that box should have been thrown out when she married Norberto. She thinks Juliana should be with her husband fixing there marital problems. How can you expect him to keep giving your father money if you are not with him asks her mother. Juliana tells her not to worry. There are always ways to fix mistakes from the past.

Norberto asks Juan Carlos what happened. A bad fire replies Juan Carlos. Ulises tells Norberto that an accident happened and Manuel was hurt. How bad asks Norberto. He could lose his arm replies Juan Carlos.

Memo is flirting with Perla and she is eating it up. She suggests he go and visit the girls. Pick one out he likes. Memo says he's not interested in anyone but her. They make googly eyes at each other. Memo is a slime-ball but he sure has pretty eyes.

Elena is grilling Juan Carlos. She finds out Acacia suffered a head injury but will be okay. He says she went with Manuel to the hospital. Luisa hears this and becomes frantic. What happened she asks.

Esteban pours some wine and Cris talks of never wanting their trip to end. He wants to visit other places with her like Europe. Cris is game but wants Acacia to join them.

German is happy to see that Manuel didn't suffer a worse accident. Manuel says he was just trying to help Acacia. What is I lose my arm? Don’t think the worse replies German. Lets wait until the doctor shows up. It seemed their father knew something bad was going to happen. He told you not to go and told me the same. What are you trying to say asks Manuel.

Perla appreciates his interest but she only has eyes for that swine, Danilo. Understand? Memo says he doesn't. He sees how he talks to her and treats her. Well I learned to love him and can't live without him replies Perla. She offers one of the girls for free but he declines. He just wants her. He will wait until she decides.

Ulises runs to Acacia at the hospital. He says everyone is fine. Acacia is worried about Manuel. He saved her from a burning beam falling on her. It's all her fault. If you hadn't come in to save us both....Norberto comes in and thanks Ulises for his help. He goes to see Manuel. Acacia doesn't understand how this could happen. Everything was going okay. She hopes that Manuel doesn't lose his arm. Ulises tells her to try and calm down but she can't. She's worried about Manuel and also the buyer. She failed Esteban.

Norberto goes in to see Manuel. He reminds him he was told not to go to the hacienda. Why was that asks Manuel. I'm not stupid. German told me we had a building full of cotton and suddenly there's a fire at the hacienda. Was it you? Did you cause that fire?

Juan Carlos orders Rubio to take Luisa and Ale to the hospital. He will stay and take care of the situation at the hacienda. Tell Norberto and Manuel that I will be there as soon as I help answer questions to the firefighters and have the paramedics check all the workers lungs. Rosa comes in as Luisa is about to leave. She orders Rosa to help her feed the workers. Luisa begs her to let her go to the hospital to see Manuel. Rosa agrees. Tell him I will be praying for him. The main firefighter tells Juan Carlos that the fire is completely out. The structure is not safe. Rubio is listening to all this. Juan Carlos wants to know what caused the fire. The firefighter says the investigators are coming to look into it.

Manuel tells Norberto that it's his fault that his arm got burned. I will lose it now. Norberto asks how he can think that. Because you didn't want me to go to Benevente or German. You caused that fire. Norberto tells him to zip it. He doesn't know what he is talking about and not to repeat it to anyone. Manuel says he can't move his arm or feel it. So it is all his fault that he is left disabled. A doctor comes in and says visiting hours are over. Norberto asks if Manuel's arm can be saved. Depends on how much damage and how badly his nerves were burned replies the doctor. We have to wait and see. Norberto begs him to do what he can no matter how much. The doctor says it's not about how much money. They are concerned about his lungs also.

Ulises tells Acacia to wait and see what happens with Manuel. Not to get so worked up until they know. German walks up and Acacia apologizes to him. She didn't want anything to happen to Manuel. He was just helping her. German understands it was an accident and not her fault. I know you love him like your brother. Please don't feel bad. I know how much this affects you. You also lost all that cotton. Acacia worries about the deal that she needs to save. She needs to find cotton to honor the order from the buyer. German says they have some and will talk to his dad to sell it to her. Acacia thanks him.

Cris tries calling Acacia but there is no signal. Esteban is happy that they are together. More lovey dovey talk. He says there's something missing and gives her a pair of earrings she was eying at the gift shop. Just goes to show you I always pay attention to what you like.

German thanks Ulises for saving his brother. He steps away to make a call. Norberto walks up and German says he's going to call his mother and tell her what happened. Norberto forbids him to make the call. If she really cared about us, she would be here. Norberto walks into the waiting room where Acacia and Ulises are. Acacia apologizes for what happened to Manuel. Norberto says not to worry about it. Things are going to be okay. He sends them off to get some rest and he will stay with Manuel. Luisa walks in with Ale in tow and inquires about Manuel. Acacia says they gave him medicine and bandaged his arm. Tomorrow they will know more. Ale tells Norberto that Juan Carlos will be by later. He stayed to see what the investigators needed. What investigators asks Norberto. The ones looking to see how the fire started.

Lunes: More honeymooners and Acacia doesn't know what to do.

Gloria, your recap reflected the riveting events of last night perfectly. You words paint a vivid, glorious picture. Mesmerizing.

"I wonder if they can remove the permanent pissy face that she always wears" had me laughing in agreement. Your many other wry observations and comments including "Dumbass Acacia runs into the burning building trying to push out the pallets of cotton" were great.

How sad that Manuel was caught in the midst of his father's nefarious arson. He is selfish, lazy among other undesirable traits, but he did not deserve this. I hope they are able to save his arm. I have no doubt Acacia feels guilty and indebted to him, and wonder if she will turn most of her attention toward him. We know that a rift with Ulises is coming sooner and later, and this might be the first catayst.

Of course, Luisa will be right in there and I fear Art does not stand a chance in - well, you know where :) at the moment.

Juliana, who's been busy primping and planning her surprise reunion with Andres is going to be devastated. I wonder (no spoiler, just speculating) if Andres might be involved in Manuel's treatment? That would certainly be something that would bring both together.

Glad to see Cris and Este are enjoying some newlywed bliss. Their peaceful retreat will be shortlived.

"If he ever gets married again, he will ask him to do the wedding. Arturo looks away sad”. I thought that an was extremely insensitive remark to say to anyone, let alone Carmen's son. So, he hasn't thought of remarrying? That was awkward indeed Gloria.

Looking forward to seeing each successive episode but not nearly as much as I enjoy reading these comments.

Gloria, thank you, thank you.

Diana

"...not nearly as much as I enjoy reading these recaps and comments".

Gloria- I have company this weekend and haven't had a chance to watch yet. Thank you for the wonderfully detailed and witty recap.

I'm so glad that Acacia and Uli didn't get hurt in the fire. What a bit of poetic justice that Norbie ends up wounding his favorite child while trying to hurt his neighbors financially. I'm glad that his sons caught on to what that was really about.

Does Juliana really think that if she gets a new hair style and clothes, Andres will just fall into her arms. Maybe it will be that easy, but I think after all these years, he might want an explanation first.

Gloria and Madelaine--are you two single-handedly keeping La Malquerida a querida novela? Congratulations for doing the heavy lifting.

I have 10 pm conflicts so I can't watch consistently. I've familiarized myself with all the characters, backstories, what they look like, etc. This novela was made for G.G. Cantu (I'm watching his stellar performance in Fuego although the storyline is soooo boring.) He's such a great villain.

My only comment is that you two keep me reading and watching when I can.

Diana, Goddess of Wisdom. Still dispensing wise words. How I wish you were watching Reina de Corazones with us Reinamaniacs. Your wisdom is sorely needed.

Vivi--How DO you do it. I guess to be young, beautiful, and have unlimited energy, anything is possible--demanding job, busy social life and HOW many novelas are you keeping up with?????

P.S. After 15 years of being together, Esteban's incessant attention to meeting Cris' every expressed desire, anticipating every unexpressed desire, and hovering would drive me crazy.

It's like asking where are you going every time you get up from the couch to go to the bathroom.

Lordy, how I wish Brandon P. would find another nice-guy role. I fell in love with him, as we all did on Refugio, but CI and now this one? Well, he's not so much a bad guy as a guy with bad habits, a bad father, and a self-absorbed mother.

Cheers and good-luck. I'll stop by every once in awhile.

Anita- Amiga, and fellow Reinamaniac, I'm watching this one and Reina each day, sometimes watching Hasta, and reading the recaps for the others. Reina and Malquerida are so different from each other, but I'm enjoying them both immensely. :) When are we going to have another DC outing?

Hello to All,

Just dropping by to say that I am still not watching this TN but wanted to thank those of you who recommended La Fuerza del Destino which just finished its afternoon reruns yesterday.

I had happened upon it about 3 weeks ago and wondered if it would be worthwhile to watch. I especially enjoyed the older actors who did a fabulous job with their roles...realized later that it ended shortly before Don Pedro Amendáriz Jr. died as a result of eye cancer. I thought the dialogue was excellent and of course helpful to me as a continuing student of the Spanish language.

I couldn't figure out how Carolina fit into the picture. I believe that she was befriended by Lucia's father and they were living together raising Alex, but I don't know how all that began.
I know she was blind and had a cornea transplant etc, etc. but I don't know her origins.

Glad you're all enjoying this one.
It was funny -- the other night at eleven, my son and his wife called me to ask about it. They don't watch TN's, but somehow or other while surfing channels, they came across it and were curious. It was the wedding scene. My daughter-in-law was wondering if something was going on between Acacia and her stepdad; she had picked up the clues.

Have fun with the TN and all of your TN friends. It is quite impressive that many of you have been communicating this way for many years. Has anyone ever given thought to a TN viewers' reunion?
or is it better being online friends only?

All the best.....

Anita, so wonderful to see your post! Your voice and presence are sorely missed.

You are always so kind and generous. Among your many talents, you never fail to make everyone in your orbit feel appreciated.

"P.S. After 15 years of being together, Esteban's incessant attention to meeting Cris' every expressed desire, anticipating every unexpressed desire, and hovering would drive me crazy". I hadn't thought about that but yes, how right you are. Este has not learned moderation in adoration. :)

I think you completely captured Manuel's essence: "Well, he's not so much a bad guy as a guy with bad habits, a bad father, and a self-absorbed mother". Indeed.

Please come by as often as you can...

Diana

Floridia, if you do decide to watch once in a while, it would be nice to hear from you.

I've not had the pleasure of meeting anyone in person on Caray but hope to one day. I know some of the recappers and commenters who live nearby or who travel have gotten together. I believe Vivi can speak more to this.

Diana

Vivi--Would love another outing, but not Mondays-Fridays at 8 pm!!!!!!!! E-mail me and let me know if you can get freed up for a lunch. I have the time and the mode to get anywhere (in our area, natch.)

Diana,

Many thanks for your kind comment.

Floridia

In LFdD, Carolina was Lucia's father Gerardo's sister in law. After he divorced Lucrezia he remarried, but his wife died within a 10 year gap from the early episodes to the episodes after Ivan returned to Alamos with Tony. So his wife was never shown in any episodes. Since Carolina was blind I guess she didn't have anyone else to care for her besides her sister. Then of course after her sister's death Gerardo was still there for her.

Concerning LaM, honestly I'm already bored with the Acacia/Esteban/Cristina storyline. If say, German and Alejandra's storyline was the main one of this TN, I'd be more interested. So basically I'm just watching for their storyline.

Gloria,
Thanks for the outstanding recap. I have been watching this one, but not commenting everyday. I have no excuse other than I have been EXTREMELY busy, but aren't we all.

Anyhoo, I have yet to watch this capitulo, but am looking forward to it. I agree that Manuel isn't a horrible person, but very confused and misguided.

Thanks for the warning about the scenes with Cris and Este. Sometimes I find their love scenes a bit blah. Not that I think Este should be all over Acacia, but I just don't feel any chemistry between Cris and Este.

On the other hand, I am loving the storyline between Ale and German, aka big sexy. I too look forward to their scenes.

Hasta pronto!

Por fin I am caught up! Hopefully I won't get so far behind again.

Thanks to Mads and Gloria for the recaps. I referred to them often because I can't seem to understand Sabine M or Danilo to save my life.

Thank you for mentioning Memo's eyes. They are mesmerizing.

Acacia was a dumbass, but I also want to call out Luisa on her dumbassery. That girl gets on my nerves.

Thanks, Gloria , for that excellent snappy recap. I have not had a chance to watch, but I hope to see it today.

Manuel is the poor, little rich boy who never had to take any responsibility for anything, unlike Big Sexy who has always had to work on the ranch. Always seek out those types of guys . They know how to work hard and be responsible for more than finding a good restaurant for a date,

It appears that Este is back to marital bliss as long as Acacia is out of his sight. Meanwhile, back at the ranch....things are going to he** in the proverbial hand basket.

OT Is anyone watching "Outlander" on Starz ? It is sort of a Scottish telenovela. Lots of hombres in kilts. Have you read the books ? It is really heating up , and I am wondering how closely they are sticking to the book.

Gloria - Great recap. My favorites:

I wonder if they can remove the permanent pissy face that she [Juliana] always wears.

dumbass Acacia

Anybody think Rubio was in on burning the cotton? He flashed a very knowing looking at Norberto.

Loved Esteban in white T and Bermuda shorts. Maybe I'm also affected by how focused he was on his wife instead of his stepdaughter.

Glad Manuel told Luisa he doesn't even remember them getting frisky and that it shouldn't have happened. But I can see him leaning on Luisa emotionally if his arm is shot.

Perla and Memo sure have mesmerizing eyes. Perla looked so happy to be preferred over the young prostis even though she turned him down. My take is Perla's been kicked around so long that any male approval thrills her. She's a bad guy now, but I can picture her being enslaved and indoctrinated at a young age.

Niecie - I wondered about Rubio, too. He seemed to be extra lurky in this episode. If he didn't have a hand in it, he at least knows Norberto did it and I bet he'll try to capitalize off that knowledge.

I can almost see Perla as redeemable.

I still haven't had a chance to watch, but my house guest is stepping out for a bit this afternoon, and I think I'll be able to sneak in 45 minutes to watch. Yay! :)

I can totally see Perla at some point deciding that she's had enough of being treated like crap by Danilo and deciding to help the younger girls or turning on Danilo to the police. But I think it will take a LOT for her to get to that point. Like she pointed out to Ale, her life on the streets was WAY worse than her life with Danilo. She sees Danilo as her savior.

OT:

Susanlynn- I'm watching Outlander and loving it. I never heard of or read the books until the series came out, but I think I will after the series wraps up. I haven't seen this past week's much anticipated episode yet.

From what I've read, they are deviated from the source material a bit in order to get to certain events faster, but basically keeping all the major plot points the same. They've also written a couple of new scenes here and there to get to points in the story more quickly.

Gloria:

Thanks for this very fab recap. I so look forward to them.

So agree with you about Acacia and Luisa being dumbasses. Oh, I had a fit when those two guys opened the doors. More oxygen more fire. There should have been another way for them to put it out. The firefighters must have come from San Jacinto.

Another dumbass was Norbie, he didn't think they would investigate how the fire started? Idiot! Oh, and he needs more land why? He can't even work those Finca lands to turn a profit. He ought to
give the Finca lands over to German. I bet they'd be profitable in no time.

One thing Gloria can you label your recap? It isn't showing up on the sidebar, thanx,

Anita:

It is so good to see you here. Yes, Gloria and I have been keeping this going with an assist from our Vivi. We are so grateful to her. Yes, Anita I echo everything Diana said about you. Please do drop by more often.

AuntyAnn:

I have missed you muchly. I am glad you commented. If you get a chance please do drop in. I like your take on these characters.

Sara:

Por fin you are caught up. I love your take on these chacters. It's interesting what you said about Perls. I don't know about her yet. She still condfuzzles me. I too think Rubio is being lurky. I dont' know yet if he had a hand in the fire, but I think he knows Norbie did. I wonder what he will do too. Norbie has no money. Hmmmm....

Niece:
Memo may be pretty, but what an ugly personality.

I guess I said what I did about Perla because she hasn't ratted out Ale yet. I understand it's for a completely selfish reason: she recognizes that Danilo is obsessed with Ale and it is affecting his dealings with Perla. She has been rejected by that Johnny (?) dude and I perceived it as "you're old." She becoming aware that she is aging and what happens to old prostitutes? She could end up back on the streets with even less now that her looks are gone.

So really I'm hoping she is redeemable. I feel bad for her.

Ugh. "She IS becoming aware." Verbs are important. -_-

I've found a movie of the same name made in 1949. All the characters names are the same. If they follow the movie boy oh boy. The Este character is lets say very very interesting and the mother/daughter relationship had me in tears. Thanks for the recap. Ale needs to tell German something about her past because the wolves are circling around her.
Romy

I've found an English translation of the play on Google books. It's free. I'll post the link if anyone is interested.

I also found a youtube video of a stage production that was televised in Spain in what had to be the 70s or early 80s. I haven't watched the whole thing though.

Hola, Anonymous, 9/20; 9:34 PM EDT,

Thank you so much for explaining who Carolina was in LFDD. I had no clue how she fit into the story.

Appreciative of your time......

OT..Oh, Vivi, The last episode was smokin.' I started watching the series, but I was losing interest and missed a few episodes. Then, I surfed into the last episode last night. Wow. There is only one episode left. I think that there will be a marathon next Saturday before the finale episode if you missed any of the previous episodes.

OT...the previous comment is referring to the Starz show "Outlander."

Gloria---A lot happened Friday night and you told it beautifully.
Your Acacia dumbass had me laughing. But in fairness to her,
she was in panic mode and when in panic mode often you don't think clearly. She had a lot of responsibility riding on her young shoulders taking care of El Rancho Grande while Cris and Este
were away and now the rancho's
profits are going up in smoke. Save the cotton--save the cotton,
I've got to save the cotton. We all know that she can't move the heavy bails but in panic mode???

I was laughing at pissy face also
Will the new do change pissy face?
I think that only Dr. Andres can bring about that change but the new hairdo will sure go along way,
I loved Julie's new look.

Is it inevitable that Acacia ends up with Manuel? No he's not a bad guy just a lazy, spoiled rich kid.
I think that Ulises is a sooo much better catch.

Will Perla turn on Dan Evil? That's one to ponder but right now I'm leaning on the yes side. Ok so Danilo took her off of the streets but he treats her like dirt and has for a long time---when is enough, enough? Yes eventually she will say no more, I've had it, no more abuse, I'm finished with this. The key word
is eventually.

Can't wait for Monday.

Madelaine,
Thank you for the kind words. I have missed you guys too. I hope to comment more often because I really enjoy reading everyones take on these characters. So far I hate Norberto & Danilo. I am loving German and Ulises' brother (can't remember his name). I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Manuel, he's handsome and I don't see him doing anything evil. Only time will tell.

Sara, I share in your sympathy for Perla.

Gringo, it's in Perla's best interests to keep Ale's secret as she no doubt feels threated by Danilo's sick, twisted obsession with Ale.

Although when he discovers Ale (I am not certain he will but think we all suspect it's evitable), I think Perla may "betray" him if she is once again relegated to second tier.

Even though I feel sorry, I fear it is too late for Perla., that she is too deeply entrenched in the sordid world in which she exists. I hope I am wrong.

I also think you are right in that Acacia may end up with Manuel. At least temporarily due to the guilt she is feeling.

AuntyAnn- I love Ulises' brother too (even though I can't remember his name either...Arturo?) Part of my frustration with Luisa is that she can't see the great guy standing right in front of her.

I like Manuel. He's immature and seflish, but he's not evil...yet. He's on the fence I think.

Diana-I hope against hope that Perla still has a chance, but you are right about how deeply entrenched she is in that sordid world.

Aunty Ann and Sara:

Yes. Ulises brother is Arturo. We have nicknamed him Art. He is a very sweet guy. I too wish that Luisa would open her eyes and see him in front of her. They both have such a passion for being chefs.

As far as Manuel goes. He bothers me. There was the beatdown that never happened by Ulises and Manuel lied about it, almost sending Ulises to jail. Manuel shoved Ulises out of the way to catch the garter and injured Ulises, his gambling, cock fighting, I too would say Manuel is on the fence. Hopefully he stops listening to Norbie and listens more to German, big sexy.

We all love Arturo! Think he is my favorite after big sexy.

Madelaine, I think Manuel's injury will make him or break him. He does have some redeeming qualities but they are not visible under his all too palpable anger and resentment at this point. Norberto is pushing him and his weak character does not enable him to stand up to his father.

What will he do with the information that his father is an arsonist and is responsible for maiming him. I do feel for the situation he is in.

Off Topic:

For those that have been waiting for it, Quiero Amarte, starring Cristina de la Fuente and Karyme Lozano, just started today on Univision at 3pm.

Quiero Amarte is on right now for those interested :3

Vivi or CorazonS: Do either of you know where to find a synopsis of QA? I'd like to edit the Proximas page and stick it in, but all I've been able to find are producer's promo and the cast.
Thanks if you can help.

Anita- Here's one in Spanish: http://blogtelenovelas.com/fotos-y-sinopsis-telenovela-quiero-amarte/

Thanks, Vivi. This works out just fine.
