La Malquerida, capitulo 52. 11/04/14. Esteban needs a cold one.
Skipping the old....
Esteban and Acacia go to the reception desk to ask for another room. Unfortunately, they are booked up, but offer to put in another bed. Esteban declines and calls Cris.
Hector finds out from Cris that Esetban and Acacia went alone on the trip to the city. Cris explains that she didn't want to miss the meeting with him. Her phone rings and it's Esteban telling Cris about the confusion with the room. Since he thought she was accompanying him, he only reserved one room and forgot to arrange two instead. Cris asks to speak with Acacia and asks her if it's okay if the hotel would put in another bed for Esteban. Acacia doesn't have a problem. She hands the phone over to Esteban and Cris says to just put in another bed since Acacia doesn't have a problem with it. (Hector's eyes almost pop out at hearing this). Esteban says he doesn’t' want to inconvenience Acacia and would just sleep in the car. Esteban needs to rush off to the meeting and will call her back later. Hector continues talking business then offers to make her a cup of coffee.
Esteban says he doesn't mind sleeping in the car. Acacia will not hear of it. They will be roommates tonight. Esteban is gracious for the offer but doesn't want to inconvenience her. Acacia would feel bad if he had to sleep in the car. She says it would only bother her if he snore loudly. They have a good laugh and he says how he likes to see her laugh again. Acacia says she sometimes feels empty and that the pain will not go away. But you are making it more bearable.
Cris tells Hector that Acacia had a nervous breakdown/episode. Why wonders Hector. Was it about her first love? It can be such a blow that you can never forget. Cris says Acacia became blinded by her love. You think that your first love will last forever and there will be no one else. Hector remembers the last time he meet Acacia she was having problems. But she's a beautiful girl and I would think she would have lots of suitors. Cris says she knows Acacia and she will not want to be with someone for awhile. She will dedicate herself helping Esteban and I with the hacienda. Hector warns her to keep watch over her daughter and not Esteban. Cris defends Esteban and says he's her stepfather and would protect her. It's not the same replies Hector. I think your love and compassion will be the best for her. Seriously, don't leave her alone.
Esteban and Acacia are at the meeting with Paredas. He apologizes for being rude to Acacia at their last encounter. Acacia hopes that their business relationship will improve from here on out. She plans to learn more about the running of the hacienda business and hopes to provide him the service that he deserves. Esteban will keep paying his debt and hopes to have future business dealing with him.
Cris calls Elenita and lets her know that the meeting went well. She's eating at the restaurant where Esteban first took her. Poor guy hardly had enough to pay the bill and refused any money from me. Elenita points out how proud Esteban is. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Cris tells Elenita that perhaps Esteban is right in being jealous of Hector. It seems that Hector feels alone.
Parades gets a call and has to cut the meeting short. He brought some theater tickets for Esteban and her mom, and offers to give it to them. Acacia accepts gladly and Esteban looks uncomfortable.
German shows up at Danilo's. Julianita answers in a negligee. German seems uncomfortable.
Manuel arrives home and Luisa pops up out of her hiding place. She came to see how his therapy went. He's rude and wants to know what she wants. She informs him that Arturo saw them yesterday and wasn't happy about it. She feels awful. Manuel suggests they break up then. Luisa begs him not to. Manuel thinks it's for the best. If she wants to go out with that idiot more power to her. Luisa asks if he's jealous. He just laughs and says he just doesn't care for Arturo. Luisa is ecstatic and quickly assures him she only has eyes for him. They kiss and head inside.
German asks Julianita if Esdelma is around. She says Perla, the name she prefers to be called, is not around and offers to take care of him. German prefers to just talk to Perla. Julianita warns him that Perla is Danilo's woman. I knew it shouts German. Danilo walks up wanting to know what is going on. You and Perla are still together replies German. Danilo doesn't understand what Perla's niece said. German answers that he was told that Perla or whatever her name is, is his woman. I will not allow you to hurt Ale.
Esteban asks Acacia what's with the long face? At the meeting you were happy. Acacia apologizes but remembers always sharing good news with Ulises. Right now I would be calling him to say that Peredas treated me differently. Esteban says Ulises doesn't deserve another thought in her head. Your right and I'm trying to forget him replies Acacia. And that is what you need to do says Esteban. Stop talking about him would be a start. When he enters your head, think of something different. Something that makes you happy. Acacia thinks that is a great idea and offers him some of her mango. He takes a bite and she notices he is still wearing the bracelet she gave him. He is turning into her favorite travel companion.
Danilo laughs at German and says Perla's niece is only here to comfort her since she is depressed about their breakup. He sends Julianita off and tells German that Perla is aware that the only woman for him is Ale. German wants to clarify that with Perla herself. Danilo says she's not there but German points out he just arrived. How would he know that. Perla runs up and tries to kiss Danilo. He turns his head and tries to get her to see they have company. She ignores him and says she just came from the attorney and he would help her keep the location she wanted. German hears all and says you gifted her with a store in the commercial building. Perla finally realizes they have company and turns around. She has a scared look on her face.
Rosa is putting water on Acacia's nightstand and finds the necklace Ulises gave her on the floor.
Esteban and Acacia are walking down the street and come across a necklace being sold on the street. She touches it and Esteban asks if she likes it. She smiles and replies that she does. She says let's go but Esteban goes into the store to buy the necklace. Esteban takes the necklace and places the cross on her hand. Today you renounced Ulises when you took off that necklace he gave you. Let this new cross commence your new life ahead of you.
German can't believe that Danilo is cheating on Ale. He tells Perla that Danilo is only playing with her. Perla says she always knew that Danilo loved Ale and when he found her again, stood aside. German wants to know what the heck Danilo is doing there then? Danilo says we have a relationship. A friendship. She was there for me when I needed her and now I just can't leave her to her own fate. He promised to set up a business for her and just because he didn't stay in a relationship with her doesn't mean he shouldn't complete his promise. Now if you don't have anything else, she and I have to talk about the problem that your friend left behind.
Esteban tells Acacia to pick up her hair and puts the necklace around her neck. They are standing way to close and he finally backs away. He wonders if she doesn't like it. He can buy her another. It's not that replies Acacia. I'm just remembering what the necklace meant when Ulises gave it to me. Esteban tells her not to mention him again. She says it's not easy. How can I overcome this if all I do is think about him? You will find a way says Esteban. You will have all my support and from all those that love you. He caresses her face.
Ulises is whispering to the mystery girl that the men are here to cross the border illegally. They are here to work off their debt for the help. Memo (masked of course) comes back in and tells the men to get to work. Memo orders Ulises and mystery girl to join the men. They are shown into a room where marijuana is being grown. Ulises tells Memo that all this is illegal and it will cause harm to others. Memo tells him to zip it but Ulises doesn't listen and gets the snot beat out of him as mystery girl watches.
Danilo calls Perla an idiot. She doesn't know why he's mad. She didn't tell him where she lived. Danilo says you listed it on the contract. I didn't think says Perla and Danilo finger pokes her and says that's the problem. You don't think. Now we have big problems. With all this legal stuff, we cannot run our business from here. Perla still doesn't see it and Danilo slaps her a bit. All the investigators and attorneys will be coming here. Perla apologizes then realizes she showed the contract to Danilo before signing and he didn't notice it. He was to busy thinking of Ale. He slaps her and tells her to shut up. She says I told you Ale would only bring us problems. He crudely yanks her with the tip of his cane and says she is the one that brings problems. What if German found out this was a brothel? But he didn't yells Perla. They start arguing and Julianita runs in. Danilo calls her an idiot also. Why are you answering the door in a negligee? That man that came here cannot under any circumstance find out about our business here. And if you see him in town, you are to tell him you are Perla's niece. Understood? He slaps it into her memory. Danilo leaves and Julianita comments that he was so good looking. What did you tell him asks Perla.
Mystery girl tries to stop Memo from beating Ulises. Memo takes his gun out and tells them enough. Ulises tells Memo to leave her alone. He pulls the girl away from Ulises by the hair and points the gun at her head. Ulises tells him to calm down. He will work. Memo then orders everyone to work.
Esteban calls the hotel to tell them to put a spare bed in the room. But if another room comes up, to let him know. Acacia suggests going to the theater. She is trying to do what he suggested about forgetting. He thinks it's a great idea and they stare at each other and she looks away. She pulls out a brochure and studies it with Esteban just staring at her. How she doesn't feel the creepy vibes coming from his is beyond me. Pervert looks at her decolletage.
Cris comes home to a anxious Elenita. She wants the dish on Hector. Cris just thinks Hector is lonely and needs someone to make him happy again. Elenita thinks that Esteban is right in being jealous and wants more juicy details. Esteban is not right replies Cris. If Hector indeed wants me then Esteban should have enough trust in me to diffuse that. I don't want anyone but him.
Juliana gets informed from the maid that Andres is there to see her. She asks about Norberto's whereabouts and finds out he still hasn't made it back yet. She fixes her hair as Andres walks in. she greets him flirtatiously and he says he came because she had the audacity to bother Carmen. What else did you want me to do says Juliana. Greet her warmly after what her thieving son did. Even if that were true which we really don't know says Andres you had no right in treating her that way. Juliana thinks he's bothered for another reason. He had a strong urge to see her. I think it bothered you to see me with my husband so happy. Andres doesn't care if she is happy or not. He came to tell her to stay away from Carmen. He goes to leave and she pulls him back close to her. I know you miss me says Juliana. You miss my kisses and my caresses. That's not true replies Andres. I told you why I came. Are you scared to re-live everything that happened between us asks Juliana. This passion is so strong that it will unite us forever. Andres says there is nothing between them. That's what you think replies Juliana. There is a bond that will unite us forever. He asks what she is talking about. (this girl is delusional).
Katia doesn't think Hector should put German's work in the gallery since he has no formal training. He says that such talent cannot be ignored. Katia wonders if Cris the one that he could never forget. Yes, why does it show asks Hector. She may not notice but I do replies Katia. That is why you are the perfect assistant points out Hector. You notice everything. And that is why you will be in charge to ensure Cris's exhibit is a success. It's important to me. He leaves and Katia looks frustrated.
Andres tells Juliana to spit it out. She tells him when he left to study in the U.S., she didn't get a chance to tell him....but doesn't finish as German walks in. He wants to know what is going on. Your mother was going to tell me something replies Andres. Juliana lies and says they were talking about Ulises, the son of his girlfriend, who stole from us. It could be that Nuria is the one behind all this replies German. Andres thanks German for defending his friend. Juliana says they are both the same. They think alike. But you are both wrong. Andres wants to know if she has anything else to say. Juliana just feels bad that Carmen was bothered by her. Andres asks that she not bother Carmen anymore. If you are after the money that was stolen from you, I will gladly return it to you. It's not the money replies Juliana. As you can see we don't need it. It's the fact that he stole it. My husband would never accept a penny from you. I will do what I have to so that Carmen stays calm. German offers to accompany him out.
Esteban and Acacia are walking back to the hotel and talk about the play they just saw. She points out that the man was a jerk who made two women suffer after him. Esteban says that the man suffered too. Of course he didn't replies Acacia. He had fun with both women as much as he could. I'm glad that at the end both women united against him. Too bad that doesn't happen in real life. One always ends up with the man. Like what Nuria....never mind. Esteban asks if she believes you can love two people at once. Care perhaps but love no replies Acacia. When you love for reals, you don't need anyone else. This leaves him thinking and Acacia has to get his attention.
Danilo has brought chocolates for Ale to give to Cris from him. Tell her I appreciate all that she is doing for you. Ale just puts them on the table. He then gives her her own chocolates. Ale looks disgusted. Ale tells him that German asked about Perla. Danilo knows. He saw him at his house. You have to tell him to stay away from me if you want him to still be alive. He wants her to marry him now. He wants to have a house just for them so they can live out their love.
Back at the hotel, champagne still on ice with a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. Esteban feels bad they couldn't get another room but Acacia tells him not to sweat it. She hops on the bed and takes a strawberry and takes a bite. She tells him to bring the plate and take a seat next to her. He sits and she shoves a strawberry in his mouth. She giggles innocently. They start enjoying the strawberries while still sitting on the freaking bed.
Memo brings the men back to the room. He brings them food and Ulises takes a sandwich from one of the workers and gives it to the mystery girl. She splits it with him. Ulises tries to make the men see reason. They are not going to take you across the border like they promised. Of course they will replies one of the men. We paid him. We also cannot talk to you. Everyone goes to one side of the room away from Ulises. He tells the mystery girl that they cannot stay here. How do we escape she asks. Ulises will figure out a way.
Esteban talks about those that laughed at him when he wanted to study. He didn't care what they thought. What you thought I did though. Now look at us points out Acacia. I hated you at first and now I just love you. Esteban is happy that she finally accepted him. Now it's time for bed. Acacia agrees and goes off to put her pj's on. He gets a call from Cris wondering why he hasn't called her. I didn't want to display my jealousy replies Esteban. How are the preparations going for the exhibit? Everything went well says Cris. Where you able to find another room? No, but we did what you suggested says Esteban. She hopes it will not be uncomfortable for them. If I had gone none of this would be happening. Esteban tells her not to worry and starts talking business. Cris wants to talk to Acacia but she's changing. She says goodnight and Acacia walks out of the bathroom in a negligee that you absolutely do not wear in front of any man unless he is your man. Well, perhaps Gringo. Enjoy buddy. Acacia suggests he go change and how in the hell did Acacia not notice that he looked briefly at her decolletage. He gets flustered and walks off.
Andres assures Carmen that Juliana will not bother her anymore. She shows him out and Arturo walks in. the landlord is coming tomorrow for the rent. She becomes worried. She doesn't even have the money to pay the mortgage this month.
Ulises is asleep and mutters Acacia's name. Mystery girl asks him about Acacia. You say her name every night. He is anguished wondering how she is doing not knowing where he is. He again says they have to escape. She fears they will kill them. Ulises says they have to find a way.
Cris pays a visit to Alonso. She couldn't sleep. She felt alone suddenly. Just like when you left me. Perhaps it's because Esteban and I are fighting. In reality, I have no reason to feel this way. He takes care of me and supports me. I know you must be at peace knowing how much he loves our daughter and supports her too. I had a feeling that he would deceive me like you once did. I could not stand it. (girl, go with your gut. It's telling you something that your brain doesn't want to register).
Acacia is asleep dreaming of sunshine, puppies and rainbows. Esteban is tormented. He shuts the light off and walks over to a sleeping Acacia. He stares at her and walks out the room. She hears the door and wakes up. She gets out of bed and puts her head to the door. We see Esteban needed a cold shower. Why the hell is she still at the door? He shuts off the water and she runs back into bed. He walks out without a damn shirt or freaking pants just a towel. Normally I would enjoy this but.....it's kind of creepy. Like he wanted her to catch him. Anyways, he gets dressed while staring at her, takes the room key and leaves. She thinks of him shirtless working in the fields. She's shocked and perhaps starts feeling something.
Manana: Cris asks Rubio for the truth; Cris gets run over?

Gloria, great recap.
That Acacia, she has no common sense. A six year old would have more modesty than her.
As for Juliana, boy does she think a lot of herself. What part of "I'm not interested in you" doesn't she understand. I'm glad she didn't get a chance to tell him about German.

Well, if Acacia doesn't realize that she's feeling more than daughterly feelings for Este, then she is denser than a rock. What does she think Estebone needed a (cold) shower in the middle of the night? Ann, you are right on about Acacia's lack of modesty. That's the nightie she's wearing in the into when she looks like a temptress. All of their scenes together made my skin crawl this episode, especially since Este knows Uli is in danger. Jerk!
Cris didn't say Al cheated on her, but that he had decieved her (about the debts). Of course adultery and adulterous thoughts about her daughter would be a worse kind of deception. I love how perceptive Hector was about the Este Acacia situation and the way he gently advised Cris to keep an eye on Acacia and to not leave her alone (with Este). I also love that he said his assistant Katia is TOO YOUNG for him, even as he acknowledged that she may have the hots for him.

Whew..I am so glad that Alonso was not unfaithful to Chris. I really think that the writers are playing with us,and Estebop and Ack are not going to succumb to desire.

First I have to throw out there that I giggled when Julianita told Perla that Germán was so good looking. She should know that Germán is Norbie's (step)son.
Honestly I think Cris is inadvertently fueling the fire. It was her idea that Esteban and Acacia should just ask for another bed. Even that is still dangerous. They seemed to be enjoying themselves to much.
I am hoping that Ulises and the mystery girl are freed or are able to escape. And I hope when Ulises gets the chance to explain to Acacia what happened that she will believe him. And again I ask: Where's Nuria?

This whole Danilo, Ale, Edelmira, Perla, Julianita thing must be making German's head spin. I know I would be utterly confused if I were him.
Thank you Gloria. I enjoyed reading this morning over breakfast. Its raining in S.A. and your juicy recap hit the spot. Well, I think with his architectual expertise, Uly and mystery girl will escape. I will be so mad if Aca doesnt take his call or worse acts mad and "la ofendida." If Este happens to be around, he will only make it impossible for Yukacia to take his call and not act spoiled. I am really looking forward to see how Rubio responds to Chris. I am sure he will cover for the patron. As for who is preggers, although Ale said the test was negative. For me it is hard to believe that 100%. She is not conniving liar, but she lies alot to protect German.
ITA Novella Lover about Ale lying about being preggers. Someone should probably buy a multi-pak of pregnancy tests and have everyone line up...Chris, Acaia, Ale, Luisa, and Carmen for good measure. Grandma Rosa and Juliana could host.

and it was well worth my excitement.
Boy, Alonso gets more visits than most people do. Does he ever get any rest?
I was confused about the you deceived me line but Vivi cleared that up.
WOW! We have the bikini goddess and now we have the negligee goddess. If it was me, I would have to take a cold shower too. Well we don't know what the showers water temperature was but it had to have been cold, I mean with a young goddess next to you and dressed like that--OMG!!

think that the writers are just playing with us---nothing is going to happen.

I think that given the right type of storyline, one that would not involve incest, I mean, the actors could pull off a nice chemistry. I still think they look good together, but his stalkerish ways and her complete and utter clueless attitude give me a headache.

I don't know about you guys, but I can't help but laughing outloud everytime someone walks into Alfonso's "resting place" and starts talking to him. I am almost certain he will have new visitirs before this tn is over. Rosa? Rubio will be there tonight already. Juan carlos? Elenita? norbie? Poor man cant get no rest.
I must say that I'm surprised that Katia's jealous side came out pretty quick. Obviously she wants to be more than just Hector's assistant. Again, I was happy to see Hector take an interest in German's talent. There's nothing wrong with the fact that he learned it all on his own.
Do these folks not know the meaning of the letters RIP ? Poor Alonso has not been getting much peace lately.

Gloria, I am continually awed and and constantly delighted by your recaps. Most excellent. Loved "Acacia is asleep dreaming of sunshine, puppies and rainbows". Indeed :(
Even a child would have realized Acacia's nightgown was highly inappopriate.
Feeding each other fruit and chocolate? Wrong. Just plain wrong.

Diana..gee..a tweve hour meeting...gah. Estebah should have to be in a twelve hour meeting. I'll bet that would help him simmer down and cool off....or doze off. How do you stay awake ?

Manuel arrives home and Luisa pops up out of her hiding place.
Acacia walks out of the bathroom in a negligee that you absolutely do not wear in front of any man unless he is your man. Well, perhaps Gringo.
Cris is in lala land for thinking that Esteban and Acacia have a normal father-daughter relationship and that sharing the same hotel room alone is just fine and dandy. Esteban did not raise Acacia, and the girl did not reenter his life until she was fully grown. What they are are friends, and male-female friends without benefits should not share the same bedroom.
I give Cris an “F” on this one, Acacia a “D” for the sexy nightie and leaning against the bathroom, and Esteban a “C” for trying to sleep there in the first place but at least making a hasty retreat.
I don’t know what to say about the attraction between Esteban and Acacia. She had a crush on him when she was a little girl and in some ways he’s her first boy love. Now she’s a grown woman, and Esteban looks pretty good and is very sweet and inappropriate with her. Maybe Esteban unconsciously had a crush on Acacia when she was a little girl but suppressed it until she was legal (like the priest hero in the “Thorn Birds”). Acacia needs to talk this out to somebody, but Ale is too messed up, Luisa is too silly, and Elenita would freak out. And Esteban sure needs to talk to somebody other than Rubio. Hector is probably the only person who could talk about this rationally, but he certainly won’t do since Este sees him (and rightfully so) as a rival.
I felt bad for Perla. It’s Danilo’s fault, not hers, that German found out where they live. Who runs their whorehouse within their own living quarters? I can’t believe that is in the pimp guidebook.

Niece you make a lot of sense in reference to Este's possible crush like in the Thornbirds. I think it was mutual crushes on one another. I sure hope Chris don't get run over tonight, maybe it was someone having bad dream. Btw, even when Juliana tells Andres about German, he will not react as she is hoping. I think he will be happy about German being his son, but will stay true blue to Carmen. I hope so.
Estebum should be talking to a priest instead of rotten Rubio and dead Alonso...neither of them can give him the advice he needs,...stay away from your STEPDAUGHTER because....well,..... because she's your STEPDAUGHTER. ...Dumbass.

AuntyAnn- I had a hysterectomy last week and am recovering at my parents' house. That's why I was off the blog for a few days and am not recapping at the moment. Just recuperating and finally enjoying not being too drugged up to stay awake to watch the show. :)
TF- Indeed. Where is Nuria? Sipping on tropical drinks on the Mayan Riviera? Hiding out in a squalid hovel? Dead?
Vivi, I didn't know it was such a serious surgery. No wonder it is taking you awhile to recoup. I have you and Madeline in my thoughts and prayers. Don't try to rush the healing process, even if you are feeling better. Just take it slow and enjoy your tn's and of course getting the treatment from your loving parents,
As for Nuria, she had fled and lied about being with her sick mother at hospital. I'm thinking if she was planted by Este. (I know far fetched) her job is done. If she was a rat who acted alone, she is laying low. Or at next town commiting more white collar crimes like embezzling and ruining another business.
