La Malquerida, capitulo 54. 11/06/14
Labels: malquerida
Danilo Is Everywhere and Usurps Rubio as the Most Omnipresent Character
Repeat: Danilo asserts his “ownership” of Ale, much to her disgust. Luisa tells German Ale was pregnant. Danilo brings out an engagement ring as Ale tries her best to look enthused while recoiling inwardly. Cris seems doubtful and carefully yet concernedly questions Ale. Este and Acacia’s are playful and apparently forgetting (intentionally or not) her growing attraction, kisses him yet again.
New:German and Manuel discuss Ale and Danilo. Some appreciative glances and mild flirting ensure with a shopkeeper (have we seen her before?). Acacia and Este return home and Acacia lovingly fondles her necklace as Cris watches. Cris apparently has no objection to the totally inappropriate gift.
Manuel shows up and is making progress in his rehabilitation. He and Acacia talk, he pledges his support. As he leaves, Luisa stops him, much to his apparent chagrin. She blows him a kiss and is rewarded by an annoyed look. She brazenly shows up in his room but Manuel is afraid of her being discovered and makes her leave. Luisa later confides in Ale.
A stern German notices Ale’s ring and leaves with seeming resignation. A bouquet of red roses arrives on his heels, delivered by one of Danilo’s loathsome henchmen. Danilo follows just as Ale hangs up from making a call (can someone say to whom?). German returns with an icy chill in the air as he feigns indifference. Of course, Danilo shows up again (taking a page from Rubio’s omnipresent movements), to paw and disgust Ale once again.
Este and his bestie Rubio mull over Este’s romantic dilemmas. Cris and Juli arrive to break up the bromance.
Este does not take Danilo’s plans for Ale in good stride. Este says Ale is his responsibility to which Danilo asserts (man to man) Ale is the love of his life. During Danilo’s stomach churning speech, Este looks guilty (thinking of Acacia no doubt), gulping in the midst of it.
Conversely, Ale shows Acacia her ring, smiling happily. Acacia is perplexed. Ale actually manages to look happy and answers in the same vein to Acacia’s gentle questioning. Acacia looks sad. Cris and Este also discuss the “happy” couple along with German.
The police show up at Danilo’s as Danilo, his “friend” Perla and her “niece” band together to form the picture of close friends. My stomach hurts. The policemen is inscrutable and we do not know what he is thinking in response to Danilo’s web of lies. Dan and Perla seem to think they have “gotten over”. I loved Perla pulling out the knitting needles. What a homey touch.
Danilo pops up yet again in the kitchen, causing Ale to drop a tray. The hate we have been waiting to see now emerges.
Rubio tries to woo Luisa and is rejected yet again. Ale comes in crying yet stops when she sees Rubio. Luisa congratulates her as does Rubio (whose handshake she shirks from). Cris offers her congratulations to Ale while Este stares at her as though he senses the truth. Well, of course not the entire sordid truth, but some of it.
At breakfast, Cris, discussion centers around Uli and Juan Carlos is clearly upset.
Este and Aca are outside where he leans in for a definite kiss. Acacia pulls back, acts like nothing happens, then proceeds to hug and feed him (I give up!) Then she has a near mishap tripping over the cross Uli gave her which she dropped. Este rides off in a huff as she calls after him. Let him go girl.
Norberto gets a call with obvious bad news (an accident?) concerning German Juli is hysterical and even Manuel looks stricken. Juli cries to Andres’ picture.
Coming: Uli makes a break for it. More teasing between Este and Acacia.

Ale made an anonymous call to the police about the brothel. That's why she was so convincingly happy, and assured Acacia that by tomorrow everything about why she had chosen Dan would be clear. Which just led Acacia to truly believe that Ale loves Dan, which is what she told Cris and Este, which is partially why Cris finally gave her approval.
Unfortunately, Memo has watch over the road to the brothel. He called Perks ahead of time, giving her and Julianita time to hide the girls, the drugs, and the booze by the time the cops arrived. Dan and Perla know Ale must have been behind the police. Then when Dan was speaking to his other henchman, whose name I refuse to remember, Dan asked if he did as he asked with the truck. He says he did. Later we learn German's truck has gone over a cliff and exploded! Before he left on this business trip, Ale had begged German to please be careful. Of course, after seeing her giant engagement ring and flowers, he wasn't in the mood to listen.
Ale dropped the dish when Dan showed up because she was so sure he'd be in prison. Instead, he upped his threats and tried to drag her away with him right now. Luckily, they were interrupted by the ranch hand. Dan let her know he knows she called the police and that he's always one step ahead. Ale feels more trapped than ever, and now Dan has Cris' and Este's approval, and everyone has started to believe they love each other.
Susanlynn- Those previews of Uli were very encouraging. Run, Uli, run!
Diana- Yeah, I can't believe Acacia didn't see how inappropriate it was for her to feed Este the sweets he had left for her in the windowsill. And his hissy fit upon learning she was carrying around Uli' s cross should have been a huge red flag. They are both being so inappropriate!
Danilo’s stomach-churning speech to Esteban included something about the age difference with Ale and that she made him feel vital/young. I think this point stuck in Este's gut.
Ale was so sure that the police would nab Danilo that she even tells Acacia that she will tell the whole truth to Cris and Este tonight.
Earlier, Danilo went to Norberto to complain about German coming to his whorehouse/home. Norberto yells at him not to mess with his son. Danilo says he’ll have to relocate his whorehouse and that he can also set up a separate place for Norberto for visits with Julianita.
Juliana, even in her fear that German might be dead in the accident, is going on to herself about losing her only link to Andres and him never even knowing about their son together.
I would like to see Acacia feed food to Esteban in front of Cris.
I knew Ale made a call but did not know to whom. Now a lot of what happened makes sense. I'm disliking our blue eyed dark haired Memo less and less.
I did know there was a discussion between Rosa, Rubio and Luisa but I was trying to take notes as fast and furious as I could and didn't capture that here. Appreciate your telling us what transpired.
"Dan let her know he knows she called the police and that he's always one step ahead. Ale feels more trapped than ever". Oh no, she knows he is aware she betrayed him. That, coupled with the bad news about German which is yet to come, I fear it will be too much to bear.
German cannot be dead. I refuse to believe it.
And Susanlynn, yes, Danilo did let his mask slip - great description and made it clear he was taking Ale with or without Este's permission. Thanks for noting that.
things are dark indeed.
Diana
Thank you for providing that vital information - being attracted to the youthful Acacia is something he and Danilo have in common.
"I would like to see Acacia feed food to Esteban in front of Cris". I just laughed - now that would be something, wouldn't it??
Diana
Romy
Thanks for the warnings about the spoilers. I didn't realize it was coming to an end in Mexico this weekend.
Also, just to clarify tiny bit, Luisa told German that Ale thought she was pregnant w German's baby, but that Ale was very happy when she found out she wasn't, so she could marry Danilo. german got excited upon hearing the part of Ale's pregnancy, then was let down when Luisa told him the second part of Ale not wanting to be preggers w his child. I guess she intended to help him accept that Ale didn't love him after all.
"Yesterdays frolicking was her acting like a little girl, finding the candy, running like a child on stones, I was just waiting for her to start bouncing on his lap and start baby talking. Yechhh!" Oh my. The image that evokes has me laughing out loud...
I thank you for your kind words and encouragement.
And I keep meaning to say that one of the many things that bothers me is that Uli bought Acacia a necklace almost identical to the one Uli gave her. Just something else to dislike about our not so main man Este.
Diana
Thx,
Nope. Mexico is way ahead of us. Somewhere between 100 and 120. We are at Mexico episode 59. So we are just at the halfway mark-- about 12 weeks to go if Uni doesn't bring the scissors out again.
Diana---Your very first line was super. Danilo is everywhere and usurps Rubio as the most omnipresent character.
Yes it really gets me how those two seem to be everywhere just at the right time. That goes for Esteban and his stalking of Acacia and his listening in on conversations. One of these three
just always seem to be in the right place--wrong place with the Este Acacia stalking--all the time. Have they taken Halloween ghost training lessons?
Ale is in even more danger now, DevilDan knows who called the police.
How did the police get the tip about the marijuana farm?
Go Ulises go!!! And take the girl captive with you.
must see tv tonight.
German won't be dead. That just won't happen.
Did anyone feel sorry for Juliana crying over the picture last night? Was that Germans picture or Andrea's?
the gringo
Vivi, good sign you getting cabin fever. Sounds like definite improvement, just dont get over confident and keep resting and taking care.
I would really like to hear from Mads or her family, As we all continue to have her in our minds and prayers. Any news anyone?
The police got tipped by Ale about brothel. I didnt realize til yesterday that the brothel and crops must be side by side?? Because memo is with Uli and also able to watch for unexpected guests.
The eavesdropping scenes are huge in Telenovelas! It happens in all of them. One that I saw takes place out in the country, the characters were charros, ranch hands, etc. There was a scene where a man comes upon some other men sitting around a bonfire discussing their plan of action. Anyways, the man quietly parks his horse near them, gets off his horse and proceeds to hide behind a tree nearby to eavesdrop. The thing is that he is wearing a huge sombrero, (like the ones mariachis use, huge) Well, his body is well hid behind tree, but, all you can see is this huge mariachi sombrero behind the tree, the tree is just not wide enough to hide it , and the eavesdropper didn't think to remove it. Nonetheless, the group of men never noticed there was a huge sombrero behind the tree next to them. The man listened to every word they said and not one person noticed!
Juliana was crying because German was her best card she was going to use to get with Andres. Apparently she was more passionate with him than with Norbert. Glad to see that Norb does have feelings for German.
I didn't realize that Memo tipped Dan off about the police heading his way. Unfortunately it doesn't look like Ale can escape Dan's clutches so easy.
German is definitely not dead. I am not so sure about Avelino though. That conversation between German and Ale was cringeworthy. I guess he's finally moving on after what Luisa told him. And it looks like he could possibly have a new love interest in that girl Lizzy.
Viviyou're right about the Mexican broadcast. 116 airs tonight and Sunday is the finale. I'm not sure if it's 1 or 2 hours long though. I know some of what's going to happen, it gets pretty intense with several surprises. (And for the record, sometimes I accidentally type "Perks" too instead of "Perla")
Those yuppy sweaters she and Juliana were sporting, and those knitting needles were a hoot! I wonder if they keep that stuff around just in case of a cop bust. But nothing could hide the gaudy nickknacks and bordello pink of that living room!
Right now I have no interest in commenting about Acacia, Cristina, and Esteban. Seriously the other storylines are much more interesting.
I think you are right in your comment that German would support his father - it's obvious he loves him and Norberto's rejection stung deeply. When Norberto said he could return to work German was clearly moved.
But if Norberto did kill Alonso (and some of us are recalling that he did), I don't see any redemption. Perhaps he might sacrifice himself though for someon else, and if that were to occur (pure speculation), then he would be redeemed in death.
Memo would really have to do a 360 for me to root for his redemption.
Juli's problem is that her character is totally unlikeable. She is rude, condescending and an outright snob.
I do hope Perla comes out of this with some type of happy ending. She is a victim which is easy to forget sometimes but the truth nevertheless.
Diana
I was thinking as well that it's possible Norbie would sacrifice himself. He would surely do it for his sons if need be. Right now I just don't see him going to jail if it's revealed that he did kill Alonso. Not that I necessarily do or don't want to see him go to jail.
And yes Juliana not a likable character. It's impossible to feel sorry for her when she plays a victim. I too have said before that Perla is a victim.
