La Gata #74 12/12/14 The One Where I Didn't Pay Attention
- Garabato has skinny legs and Dan needs a little sun on his legs.
- Chacharas is a good portero.
- Who the hell won the beauty contest?
- Ines is arrested while threatening Esme.
- Rita gets drunk.
- Gisela offers to take care of Fela...getting rid of her if necessary. Augie adamantly refuses.
- Esme decides to live at the Institute of Hot Doctors and Physical Therapists...she's doin' it for Fela and her children! Weigh in folks, I do not get her logic AT ALL. I didn't pay attention, surely Fela would want Esme to f*cking look for her and her children would oh, I don't know...want her at home.
- The PI rather quickly figures out that the kidnapper is a love obsessed sicko.
- Fela remembers she has a daughter. Augie promises to take Fela to the girl if she'll remember he's her husband (or something like that.)
- FREE FELA!!
- Dr. Blind Hottie asks Esme to join him for dinner after her therapy, earning an anvil sound effect and a cara de say what? from the PT guy.
- Pablo whines about Esme being at the institute. It's putting distance between them and he loves her too much. Virginia tells him that Esme did what she had to do. Esme is disabled now and she isn't the same. There are things that Pablo just won't be able to understand. Esme practically has to relearn how to be part of society, something Virginia was able to do since she had gone to a school for blind children at a young age (I'm translating the spirit of the line, maybe not the exact words.) Virginia tells Pablo to trust Esme. He whines that it's not about trust...it just sucks not having her there when he wants her. SELFISH!
- Fer and Jarocha give us another.
- Whatever I missed, put it in the comments.
Next: Episode 75

I was convinced that Esme's big announcement was that she was going...to a convent. Yep. That would have made for a more thrilling plot line than what we are getting.
I did note the stink-eye that Hottie PT was giving Hottie Doctor when Doctor invited Esme to dinner. Luckily Hottie Doctor can't see his old pal giving him the stink-eye...but Esme saw it I think.

What beauty contest?
And what PSA announcement did Virginia give?
Love the title of this post, btw.
The beauty contest was part of the fair. Jarocha, Meche and Rita were three of the five (?) contestants. Oh, maybe you meant where was the beauty? Lol.
I'll have to go back and rewatch to specifically say what Virginia said. The whole thing started with Pablo whining so I tuned out pretty quickly. Now I can't even remember much of what she said.
I saw Maria, though briefly, her hair was down and there was a crowd around.
My imagination had run away with me in contemplation of all the possibilities for bad ass Ines. Not only was this uncharacteristic she was acting like a parody of a parody of a gun moll. Is this not a Saturday morning cartoon? Will there be action figure dolls on the shelf in time for Christmas or can you get your collectors set with a Happy Meal?
Likely a problem for the Augie doll, that cane could poke an eye out.
Will batteries be included with Esmeraldas chair?
Since Rita did so well as a beauty contestant will her doll also include a teeny weeny bikini?
Are the Hottie Doc, Hottie Physical Therapist dolls anatomically correct?
Should more hair be an available option on the Mariano doll?
How will crazy be portrayed for the FeBlanca doll? Eyes that roll around in her head when a nut and fixed when lucid?
I hope Pablo comes as a clown puncher. I want two.
Will the Lorenza doll be on all 4 hooves or upright on 2 and bleat with a pull string?
I confess that I am completely disinterested in any type of team sports activities, so the soccer match was a great time for me to use the bathroom and get a beer.
The "beauty contest"? What was that all about? I can't even begin to guess what that was supposed to mean. I would have had Ines, Maria and Virginia for contestants. At least that would have kept Ines out of jail.
Ines' tactical and strategic skills seemed to desert her last night. What an oafish, pre-school attempt.
I think I like Rita better full of tequila than when she's sober.
On the off chance that Hottie PT guy has a scheduling conflict and can't massage Esme's legs, I think gringo or I would probably be able to jump in and help out.
David
Tofie: Loved your comment.
I wish the writers would introduce a woman for Mariano to fall in love with. And maybe Monica and hottie doc could fall for each other? Must admit I don't see (no pun intended) what hottie doc sees (pun intended) in Esme. If he could see her he could be mesmerized by her beauty but listening to her ....nothing she has said to him seems swoon worthy. To me he should have fell for Virginia. Shes so sweet and kind.
YES CARVIVLIE I SO AGREE!
Esme hasn't said anything vaguely interesting to him. This must be a literal case of EAU de protagonista because it must be her scent that he likes.
Of course, all the basurero woccer players were visibly quite dirty and the "beauty" contest was just beyond idiotic.
Ines's assault was so stupid. She should have just gone to the police department and pulled a gun on one of them. As they drag her away she's yelling it's la gata's fault. Always la gata's fault. Stoooooooopid.
"To me he should have fell for Virginia. Shes so sweet and kind."
I second that, Carvivlie!
Ah, what the hell, it's not worth further comment.
Oh, except of course, and pardon my manners, Thank you Sarah!!!
The thing that frustrates me most about this show is that it is so not conversation worthy. It isn't even the kind of bad that gets tongues wagging.
*sigh*
I'm watching the ridiculous scene when Esme announced she was going to move to the Institute where she could be with her own kind! I just cannot find words for the base, insulting idiocy of this "plot point": move to the Institute where there are people like me. Leaving her kids! Seriously, who is this LaToodle-oo! What contempt she has for, like EVERYBODY! Pablo needs to just file for termination of maternal rights and move away with these babies and start over somewhere. This plot device could ONLY have been more offensive if she said she was going to get herself euthanized because that's what needs to happen to "people like her."
The attempts at social and spiritual commentary are laughable.
I really do feel like these people just threw some shit together ripped off from actual quality novelas, jumbled memories of others, their own ignorance and prejudices and whatever the f*ck came to mind each day and said screw these idiots, they'll watch anything while we laugh all the way to el banco!
Lila, I agree with what you said:
"I really do feel like these people just threw some shit together ripped off from actual quality novelas, jumbled memories of others, their own ignorance and prejudices..."
It's that cut and paste stuff we've been seeing all along.
Not sure which was the most ridiculous--Esme's move to the institute or the beauty contest. Or maybe the clean white socks vs the dirty guys soccer match.
(Don't worry Diva, I'm hangin' with ya girl!), just curious?
Pablo whining again? About what this time? Will he ever stop? And why is it that he always wears the same clothes? I noticed the same with Mariano.
Glad to know that Maria was there. Did she contribute anything to the fair?
What's happened between Virginia and Centavito?
I guess that I will have to try again. What is going on?
"WOW! I have never seen so mush anger. The patio party must have bombed. David, Didn't you bring enough tequila? Were there no tacos, no cookies? What an angry crowd. You guys sound like you are ready to march on Televisa. Maybe all of the police protests that we have been seeing lately are starting to rev up the Caray crowd. If you guys do decide to march on the Televisa studios, be careful. I hear that the Mexican prisons aren't the near country clubs the American prisons are.
My confession---I am as angry as you guys are but for a different reason. Because of the telethon, I thought that La Gata wouldn't air and when I read in the comments that it actually would, well it was too late, I missed it.
La Gata aired at 4:00PM in Los Angeles. DAMN!!!
You guys can make fun and complain all you want but I would have liked to have seen Ines the gun moll. That would have been worth the price of admission. Like Tofie, I like the actress playing Ines. I do agree with you guys that robbing the fair with police present was a dumb ass move
but Ines isn't the brightest light
bulb and there was a pile of money there so I can see Ines trying to pull off a dumb move like that. We knew that Ines would go down sooner or later anyway.
Sara in your bullet points you said something about Virginia bot you didn't give us any detail. What did Virginia do?
the gringo"
This really has gotten bad. I'm glad there are some folks willing to stick around to the end.
I am actually more frustrated by this one than with CI because there are so many interesting side stories that they are completely ignoring/screwing up.
Ines and Garabato and Mariano top that list. They are all fascinating and nuanced characters.
Pablo whines about Esme being at the institute. SELFISH!
I agree there are some great characters and would love to know more but Pablo & Esmeralda suck all the oxygen out of every room. I don't give one crap about them. Esmeralda is so boring a character now even Maite cannot do anything with it.
there is a ghost out in cyberspace
that is playing with us.
Sara---Why is Pablo selfish? Men want to be with the woman they love. That's just natural, not selfish.
A couple of days ago it was said that the local fair was ridiclous
because there were more important things to do, like find Fela. I agree that crew La Gata and Gata herself have a lot to do but remember that Gata grew up in the dump and although she is now living in uptown luxury, she still
has feelings for her beginnings. She wants the children of the dump to have some of the enjoyment and fun that the rich kids have. No, not as much money
to be made at a fair in the dump but the amount of money that was to be made was secondary thing.
David--- I have already applied for a physical therapist license.
I have asked for an expedited approval. I'm paying extra to have it sent over night Fed-Ex. Maite needs help and the PT that she has now is charging her too much, I'm willing to work for less
It's the least I could do to help.
the gringo
Uni is premiering it and then Mexico will get it. I'm sure it will be a hot commodity/topic on Caray. I will give it a try, but I will always be a day behind because I just can't stay up that late.
"if only they worked to give us strong characters with strong valid reasons for why they do the things they do, we would all be happy."
Dream on Eli, I don't think this is going to ever happen.
PSMA- fArt and Bruno
CI-Oblivio Narvaez
LG-Pablo
URPEA-Rodrigo
DQTQTQ- Diego and Alonso
With the exception of Mane de la Parra in Corona de Lagrimas and David Zepeda in the timeslot changed MPV, we've had jerks and doo-doo dunderheads as the "kings" of 4:00.
Quiero Amarte would have been nice to have on at 7/6 and it's generating good numbers on Caray even though it's in the afternoon.
As long as it's not Mejia or Latoodle-oo that we get next I think I'll be pretty happy.
And weren't almost all of those shows on at the 4PM slot in Mexico??
What's with afternoon viewers being given the crap galans?
I was frankly surprised by the decision to air DQTQTQ. Amorcito Corazon was an afternoon show and I really figured they would do the same with DQTQTQ. Frankly, I thought AC was the better of the two. I liked DQTQTQ...I *hated* that Univision decided to edit the heck out of it. I'm sure that didn't help ratings. Do I remember correctly that DQTQTQ did pretty well in Mexico and even got an extension?
Vivi may know more details.
The one I recall for getting the most flak was El Talisman. I didn't watch it, but recaps and comments treated it as a comedy instead of the drama it was.
I stayed with CI because I was recapping it. DA as Octavio had his stupid moments, but at least he wore a snazzy uniform instead of a hoodie. I also liked MariCruz (Ana Brenda) more than I like Maite, due to the general stupidity of Cuidado con el angel.
Corona de Lagrimas was not recapped due to general distaste for Victoria Ruffo in a crying role.
Another one that set the standard for stupidity, especially in later episodes, was Fuego en la Sangre. The recent ones that I gave up watching regularly (just reading recaps and watching the odd moment here and there) were:
Por el amor manda
Por siempre mi amor (quit early)
Que bonito amor (music good)
Abismo de pasion
Triunfo del amor
La fuerza del destino
There were some good ones I missed due to schedule problems.
Others would have their own lists.157
PSMA- Fabricio, Mauricio and here's a crazy one; I wanted Ines from MPV to die so Ricardo and Alina could crossover and take Isabel with them.
La Gata- Mariano, Damian and Centavito
CI- Tobias, Alvaro & Eduardo (ricardo franco's character)
URPEA- Patricio (Brandon Peniche)
DQTQx2- El, Abdallah, Paolo, Alberto, Tono
1) Mariano, sensitive, thoughtful, with a dark side that he tries to overcome
2) a tie between Damian and Principe.
The whole reason I started watching this lousy show was because I saw Principe in the previews!
Free Principe! Free Fela!
J in Oregon
Esme's logic about moving in to the Institute doesn't make sense to me. On the one hand, it sounds like she wants to be fully immersed in physical therapy, possibly occupational therapy as well? so she can be a productive member of society. Then, in the next breath, she's telling the kids how important it is to her to be able to walk again--so, have the surgery! She's complaining about how she *can't* do *anything* and yet, here she is, doing stuff. I saw it as an extension of the temper tantrum she threw at the fair, when she said nothing ever goes right for her. To me, she's just running away. She wants some "me" time. I would respect that a hell of a lot more if she would just admit it.
I don't understand how the PI decides Fela was kidnapped by someone who's obsessed with her and Fernando doesn't realize it's Augie. Didn't Augie say something to Fernando once about being in love with Blanca? Did I imagine them having a conversation in the living room about that? And Fernando kicking him out of the house?
I HATE Virginia's rhetoric of "Sorry, Pablo, she's in OUR club now and you just can't understand." Understanding isn't about having been through the exact same experience. If that's what it means to "understand" then, we're all screwed and no one will ever "understand" us because nobody has identical experiences. You get siblings growing up together and one will remember family vacations as the best time ever, while the other remembers them as pure torture--same trip, they were both there, completely different experiences. Understanding is about being willing to listen and TRY to put yourself in the other person's place. So, sorry, Virginia, you are one of my favorite characters, but I disagree with you. And telling Pablo, of all people, that he'll never be able to "understand" what Esme is going through just gives him a convenient excuse not to try. Because, really, if you can't ever understand what another person is going through, then why even bother?
Lorenza seemed very natural emceeing the "Beauty" pageant. I actually liked that part of the whole thing, despite the ridiculousness of it.
I did not like them taking Rita's very dramatic/real reaction to Ines' arrest, getting drunk...and turning that into fodder for a comedic moment. She wasn't even sloppy drunk, she was basically just sad and passed out, so how was that supposed to translate into "funny"? It didn't for me.
I would like to chip in to the Send Gringo and David To Physical Therapy School fund!
Lila, I am really feeling this: "I really do feel like these people just threw some shit together ripped off from actual quality novelas, jumbled memories of others, their own ignorance and prejudices and whatever the f*ck came to mind each day and said screw these idiots, they'll watch anything while we laugh all the way to el banco!" Does anyone remember those magnetic poetry things with the words that you just rearrange on your fridge? Do they still make those? I think Televisa has a few sets of those and that's how they're creating the "plot."
tofie, "How will crazy be portrayed for the FeBlanca doll? Eyes that roll around in her head when a nut and fixed when lucid?" I propose two heads. The Fela head can have googly eyes and tangled hair and the Blanca head can have fixed eyes, makeup, smooth hair, and earrings.
Anon at 3:08...word! I expected better of Ines.
Carvivlie and Sara, it's definitely the Eau de Protagonista. You have to use that stuff sparingly! Either Damian is immune because of early exposure or they're waiting to throw him into the mix and complicate things. And so far Hot Physical Therapist seems to be keeping his wits about him as well.
Maybe the trick is to figure out what this story is REALLY about and treat the Pablo/Esme "love story" as a secondary plotline. Maybe, then I can feel like it's going somewhere instead of sitting, stagnant, waiting for the Liquid Plumr to break up the clog so it can start circling the drain.
(Why does it keep asking me to prove I'm not a robot? Are robots equally outraged about this show? I had no idea!)
CorazonSalvaje(; I'm trying not to get my hopes up about any future show. Uni seems to have a knack for airing the shows that I am least interested in. At least in prime time. Oh or worse, Uni airs something I like and then starts cutting it so shreds.
I found myself getting caught up in the anger and that's not good for my blood pressure. Since there's 50 some odd episodes to go, it's not healthy for me to hang in here that long. So I'm gonna quit both watching and reading cause I've totally lost interest.
There's no plot to this. How the hell does one stay on topic with this? Nothing happens.
La Paloma- I believe they stopped recapping El Clon. That had more to do with no one commenting on the recaps.
So FYI I'm cool with even off topic comments. I like talking to y'all.
"There's no plot to this. How the hell does one stay on topic with this?"
See, this is why I love the Patio.
The experts say it's healthy to blow off steam! What safer venue is there for blowing off steam--even if it's really because we're stressed out at work or with our kids or whatever--than here on the patio?
And besides, Sara, you make me laugh.
J in O
it's Pedro Damian behind it; he's great!
Livia (TDA aside) finally gets a role with more than a quarter of a brain
Jose Ron will add to the elusive actually legit 4:00 galan category
Enrique Rocha is in it (I loved when Verano de Amor had upped the ante and switched ER's usual malo chavalo role with the sweet role of Vito Rocca while Juan Ferrara took on the nasty, death deserving Otthon Villalba who came EXTREMELY close to his villainous goal.)
I'm pretty sure if it is shown in the US, it will be edited and in Mexico, it's flopping so it will most likely end sooner. The goal for this show is 166 capitulos; I'm sure it can be concluded sooner.
Venting frustration and mocking is my coping mechanism of choice! At least for TNs.
Sara, you're right. There is no plot! We're in some kind of stall. Saturday morning cartoon villains hit the entire world of La Gata with an Acme Stupidity Ray and are giggling madly.
Kat: Acme stupidity ray. Yup. That about describes it.
CorazonSalvaje(; I am not a fan of Jose Ron, but I'm sort of resigned to watching whatever is in this time slot. If it's flopping in Mexico why air it here and edit it? They did the same with PSMA. Poor ratings in Mexico, poor ratings here. But the Mexican audience gets to see everything! Makes me very jealous.
I have no idea what you mean by subscribing to updates. Please explain to a stupid a$$hole like myself who apparently made an remark that somehow touched a nerve.
I don't understand what's wrong with me saying that I'm not going to follow this novela only to be ripped a new sarcastic a$$hole.
I need to know what you mean by advising me not to subscribe to updates. What the f---k is that all about?
and 5FT"Venting frustration and mocking is my coping mechanism of choice! At least for TNs. " I love it!!
Those moments when I get to see this TN, I find myself wondering "what happened?" I hate it when things have potential and then things go South.
Fatima
I see nothing wrong with being off topic. This is a conversation among friends (at least to me it is) and those rarely stay on topic. I would submit that we are very on topic as we have stuck to the theme of telenovelas.
Bear in mind as well that we can only read your words. We cannot hear your voice or tone. I'm sure we are missing the point of your announcement that you are no longer watching or reading as you have lost interest. How would you like us to address that?
Please believe me when I tell you that 99% of us have probably lost interest in the show as well, but we have not lost interest in each other and our patio talks. We love to have new folks join us, but if we are not your cup of tequila we understand and wish you the best. It is rather rude though to anonymously lurk in the shadows of the patio, eavesdrop and suddenly shout "this conversation sucks! I'm leaving. "
(I hope your PT license comes soon!)
Ugh. Now the captcha is asking for words which makes proving I'm not a robot even more difficult. I like numbers better.
I always hold on to some of these TN hoping that the story will get back on track. Sometimes it does and sometimes doesn't. If it is hard for the writers to write for 200 episodes, then cut it in half and focus on that. I think a TN can still be successful without having 200 episodes.
gringo...where are you...we need some support to keep us going! You always find that little ray of sunshine for us. :)

Thank you for attributing malicious intent to my original comment. I do love it when people assume I'm being a jerk and treat me accordingly. And then put words in my mouth. Really spices up my day!
By the way I can relate to your feeling: "Thank you for attributing malicious intent to my original comment. I do love it when people assume I'm being a jerk and treat me accordingly. And then put words in my mouth."
That's exactly how I felt a few episodes back when I sincerely complimented you on one of your recaps and you responded saying that my comment was really an insult to another recapper disguised as a compliment to you. You even sent a hyperlink from Blog mom about how recappers should be treated. When I responded with a comment that I was sincere your response was "take this as a warning", you said you would delete such comments in the future. To me that was the same as calling me a liar. That didn't exactly make my day.
With all the other negative comments here about dislike for the novela, I'm still puzzled as to why my comment was singled out with a sarcastic response. It's as if you're saying "you want to quit, here, let me show you how to do it"!!!
OK, I'll buy into the gang mentality of "once in, you can't get out". I won't leave since that's what you want.
Why do I continue? Partly loyalty to Kat. She's picked up DQTQTQ alone and now this one. I said I would help and I meant it. I also stick around for the folks that want to hang out on the patio. I am not watching the entire Uni line up, but I like hearing from tofie, gringo, David, J in Oregon, Lila, and others.
As I said earlier I don't understand the anonymous announcement that you will no longer watch or comment.
Tell me if I'm off here...I had previously thought that before they even got started, they either decided on a number of episodes and figured out how much story they needed to make that work; or they decided on a story and figured out how many episodes they would need to tell that story.
Lately...maybe the last year or so?...it feels like they plan out about the first month and the last month, but they have no idea what's going to happen in the middle or how long "the middle" is going to last. So we get to a point where a word in the right ear would resolve 90% of the problems in the show and all that would be left are the bodas, but since they decided this show needs to go on for x episodes, they stall with tangents, give characters personality transplants, etc.
OR, we get to where everything is basically resolved, so they throw in a new Big Problem in order to extend it for another couple of months. Azul's amnesia after the car accident in Amar Sin Limites comes to mind--everything was resolved, all the right people were together, and then there's a prison break and a car goes over a cliff and she goes missing for months. That was 2008 and it caught us off guard for being unusual. Now it seems to be more commonplace.
I used to say to people that telenovelas are different because they have a beginning, middle, and end. Now I'm not so sure about them having a "middle."
of novelas but??? Anyway all of this bickering is for not. As in all not so good novelas where the writing is not up to par there are some good things also. CI had it's good points---Ana Brenda, Beautiful dresses, beautiful ranchos, great scenery shots, a monkey etc. The same with this one. Sara---You said nothing happens. OMG!! Wasn't the Raven Haired Goddess in the swimming/therapy pool. I will be there to help her just as soon as
my PT license arrives. I have to admit that Maite is nice to look at and think about but there are other good parts. Take for example, Augie. This guy's a hoot,
he cracks me up with his gravely voice and temper tantrums. David,
send him a bottle of tequila for Christmas. I think that he's running low. We have Principe, beautiful mansions, a dump which I haven't seen filmed before, and a beauty contest with Rita? I'm so sad that I missed that but please---no bikinis for her.
Anyway, as with CI, this has plenty to keep me interested.
Diva---your comments are never too long, I love them, Diana's too
One last comment. If some of you guys out there want to get mad, get mad at the prove you're not a robot. Now that is something to get angry about. Some of the stuff that pops up is just impossible.
the gringo
The middle of the story clearly did NOT meet up to our original expectations. I still watched up to the next to the last episode and then only read the gran final recap. I have no idea why I did that, but that's what I did.
In any event, I think you are correct re things changing in the middle. I guess the writers need a mental break.
Fatima
I think there is pretty of things in this show for the male viewer. I guess the females don't have as much. The dresses aren't as pretty as in CI and we aren't getting enough Mariano, Damian or Carrlos.
Thank you for the mental image of Rita in a bikini. Someone pass the tequila! No margarita mix needed.
Fatima and Sara, I wish they would stop thinking that way and adjusting for ratings. It might net them more $$ but it kills the story, and since they seem to be doing it as they go along it messes with the pacing. Whereas, if they had decided ahead of time, they could have slowed things down before we got to that "nearly everything is resolved" point. I wonder if they lose money (or care) on the DVD side of things. If the middle/end of a show loses me, then I'm certainly not going to buy the DVD to relive the awkward moments! As a matter of fact, the only TN I own on DVD is "La Reina del Sur."
I got a picture that's so blurry I don't even think a robot could make anything of it. Refresh!
The only part I feel is "for" me at this point is the Virginia-Carlos romance, and Carlos has been missing *sob* The eye candy is ok. I like when characters are complex--like Mariano and his crises of conscience and Lorenza making peace with Pablo being with Esme even though she doesn't like her. I'm bummed that Ines got busted again before her career could really take off. I suppose it's for the best. I don't want her to be turned into a "good girl" as a result, though. I would be thrilled if she keeps her edge and keeps hating Esme, but just goes on and does something legal.
I would like to see more "good" that isn't necessarily "nice." Some "good" characters who don't let people walk all over them.
I would like to see less "they won't let us be together" as the center of the plot and treated like a life-or-death situation.
I would like to see more actual life-or-death situations where we're actually on the edge of our seats wondering if we're about to lose an important character, and whether they live or die, the outcome is realistic.
And smoochies...can we PLEASE have some more smoochies! If nothing else, it reduces the workload for recapping :D
wore a skirt that none of the women liked. I liked it, thought that it had a modern fashionable country or ranch style look. The skirt was cut higher in the front and longer in the back. I just saw a dress, not a skirt but a dress cut exactly the same way. I was surprised but didn't write it down and now I can't remember where I saw it. Was it Alexa in Hasta El Fin or at a big celebrity
event somewhere? Don't know but flashbacks of Maricruz came to mind.
Tofie---No the Doc. Hottie doll will not be anatomically correct.
We don't have enough money in the patio fund to fight off lawsuits.
And no bikini's on the Rita doll. That for sure would bring a lawsuit.
the gringo
I don't think Maite's that tall, but, c'mon...girlfriend could wear a burlap sack and look good.
Hot Physical Therapist was also appreciating her at the fair...though I don't know if trying to rob him would be a deal-breaker. It's potentially a funny story to tell the grandkids, no?
I recently used the term "mullet skirt" with my nieces and they liked it better than "hi-lo skirt". Who knew Caray was also on the cutting edge of fashion terminology?
Fatima-Are you watching Quiero Amarte? I thinks it's the same producer as AB. If you've commented over there and I have forgotten, please forgive me. Sometimes it is difficult for me to keep up with names or the names that go with which comments.
gringo...oh my, oh my...the sadness of losing our beloved Madelaine.
Fatima
I'm real tired of proving I'm not a robot.
Re the robot thing. I sign in to Caray, or Chrome, or Google and hit "Publish your comment" and I don't have to do anything with the fuzzy robot image. What problem are youze guys having?
the gringo
But I still have to use the captcha in internet explorer as well.
I have to enter a captcha when:
I come to the comment page via email (chromebook, laptop and phone)
I come to the comment page from the front page of Caray on Chrome and Internet explorer.
I DO NOT have to enter a captcha when I come to the comment page via the Caray front page mobile site using chrome on my android phone.
For example, I currently have a difficult to read set of letters (I think it says "epoeas") and the easy to word "farm" (which is also easier to enter when on a phone.)
I will only have to put in "farm" for my comment to publish.
What a pain in the tusch, sorry y'all are having that problem! Did this start happening after we got that DNS problem last week?
hmmm. Maybe it did start after that DNS problem (Is that when it kept redirecting?)
Caray works on Chrome. I can go there and read to my heart's content. What I can't do is click on any of the feed links.
"The unwanted CAPTCHA is the result of a coding / design mistake, that Blogger made earlier this week. They are working on improving it, ASAP."
Hey, ask them on the help forum why we're still getting Meatball on this show when we shouldn't be anymore...just in case they can correct that, too.
Yay! The robot is defeated.
Next, I'll try Caray on Chrome. It hasn't worked for me! o_0
Pablo would recite some poetry.
Lorenza would scoff at it and say "Maldita captcha!"
Damian would start a legal argument and end up just beating the snot out of the text box.
I have to say Cachito de Cielo is her best; Renata Landeros was her name and news reporting was her game. She was beautiful throughout that entire show and a mature, strong woman who didn't tolerate nonsense.
tofie, you're gonna love this; Mariano's actor Jorge Poza was the villain Fabio Montenegro. Fabio was attractive, seductive, calculating and overall villainous. I think Mariano isn't bad because if he was, it would be too much like CDC. Fabio actually got to slap Renata in the show and believe me, Pedro Fernandez' character Chava (funny huh?) gave him a good punching.
Bonus- Nicolas from Mi Corazon es Tuyo is there too as Renata's dad, Ernesto and he is refered to as Pupi throughout the show. IDK how he was taken so seriously with that name because Pupi was such a bigshot. If you thought you hated Nico, just look at Poopy.
Daniel, on the other hand...he's very good at playing dopey, but when he steps outside of that and tries for serious or angry it's not as believable for me.
Hat baby would briefly remove his hat, but not where we could see him.
Mariano would romantically lust after it.
Ines amd the Garbage Pail Kids would plan a heist.
Maite played a lively cheerful orphan (raised in an orphanage). She rode a bike around the city and had a little dog.
She fell in love with William Levy's lawyer (?) character. They were married briefly and had a child.
She was actually the child of wealthy parents and was involved with much drama and intrigue trying to connect with her true parents.
She was blind for a while. Her estranged love (Levy) studied to become an eye surgeon so he could operate and cure her blindnes. (Much drama and stupidity involved in this segment. Laughable!) Also much evil plotting to ensnare Levy and get rid of Maite.
This drama prejudiced me against Maite, although I thought she was ok in Triunfo de Amor. Only saw brief moments of Cachito de Cielo.
I love love love the character reactions to the captcha!
J in O
Mi Pecado- Lucrecia Cordoba-Pedraza; constantly blamed for the death of her brother Cesar by her black-hearted mother Rosario. Rosario (played by none other Daniela Castro) had a rifle, gun and pistol for a tongue. Lucrecia in my opinion was Maite's second best career choice. Novela by Cara de Rata Juan Osorio Ortiz.
Rebelde- She was Lupita in this 440 capitulo novela and I know she was a sporty sweet. Her 3rd best before falling into the wrong hands.
(She does do a great job of going back and forth between Blanca and Fela...and whoever she is now....)
Erika had a short villana role with the name Patsy in Tormenta en el Paraiso (although all villains there paled in comparison to Mariana Seoane) I was suprised to see EB as bad because she has always been sweet and feisty. I want a re-run of TEEP now that every Juan Osorry-o is being re-run in honor of MCET.)
Yes, it was. The bad guy played Mariana Seoane's father (if we're talking Mar de Amor because in TEEP someone suffered a similar fate early on.)
Virginia wouldn't be able to see it.
Hottie Doctor of the missing moustache would grace the text box's perimeter.
Mercedes would chastise the captcha box for asking inappropriate questions .
Sara, re-read my 11:39pm EST comment.
In your 10:13 EST reply you had the nerve to say "It is rather rude though to anonymously lurk in the shadows of the patio, eavesdrop and suddenly shout "this conversation sucks! I'm leaving."
I never said the conversation sucks. Your comment is the type that incites fights and fuels anger. Some of you admittedly get a rush from it. I don't.
I tried to leave but that was unacceptable. So get used to me

Eaten by sharks? Fake tigers? Why the hell can't Ms Latoodle-oo give us THAT kind of bad?
Hm, that made me realize that I'm actually ok with Lorenza not having an anvil dropped on her.
Low hasn't killed anyone so I suspect she will not meet with sharks or tigers.
Hmm. Thinking about it, it sort of explains the popularity of snakes. Much cheaper than sharks or animatronic tigers.
If you ever have to ask someone completely seriously, "Was it you who put the snake in the bed?" you might be in a telenovela....

(I'm currently watching Cuna de lobos on TLnovelas. It's soooo gooood!
Sara, I went back and watched La Fea on Hulu and every minute was there. Maybe they choose to edit some or, instead of uploading the original, like La Fea, they upload the crappy edited version that they sell on DVD. That sounds plausible. If it's a really good show they don't want anything available that's better than the one they're selling?
I would get BlF on video for sure!
LFMB I think I would like to watch because I never saw about the first half or more. I liked Betty La Fea so much I was afraid I'd hate it...silly me!
I view La Fea as another "canon" TN (one that gets mentioned positively and often) that I really need to see...but so.many.episodes.
I used to visit the Mexican board thought because I didn't know about Caray! I've seen a few, not lots. Totally enjoy them!
I see La Alborada (on hulu+), all the passion and romance offered in "only 11 chapters." I guess that's supposed to sound attractive!
Is anyone else concerned that Esme is the babies' only legal parent and she's left them back at the house? I know they'll be taken care of, but does this leave them vulnerable to potential legal shenanigans?
the fashion industry theme of that one and Maite as the Model Goddess. OMG!!! Dominika Paleta didn't do bad as the model rival to Maite and also she was great in her villain scenes. Maite and William Levy were great together and I loved the two gay over the top competing designers. They were a hoot. However I got lambasted for liking that novela as well as for liking Corazon Indomable and I suppose that if in the future I mention La Gata, I will get lambasted again. I don't care! Even if a novela isn't great or considered great by the patio crowd, I always find some good parts in the story to like. I liked these three and will continue to like La Gata even
if Esme goes to the institution to live. We all know that it will only be temporary so come on guys
give Maite a break. Besides--it's
too soon for her and Pablo to live happily ever after.
A good morning laugh from Corazon
Salvaje---Jarocha would seduce the box. ---- I'm still laughing.

I like to differentiate between whether I think things are "good" or not and whether or not I like them. I don't always need a show to be done well, I just need to be entertained, have my mind occupied, and a bad show can do that too. Sadly, this one isn't doing it...though maybe the recent influx of eye candy can turn that around, who knows!
I love Maite! Despite all the flaws of this show, I do love watching her hair and her eyelashes. Oh and when she smiles!!
Kat-I have not been pleased with the way the writers have portrayed Esme as a mom. On the one hand she says she is the sole caregiver and the only one who cares and then she's going back to live in the dump or heading for the institute.
Gringo, do you have your PT license yet?
I enjoy the rich history of tns that you all have, and comparing one to another, etc. Certainly the lack of a cohesive story line hasn't held back comments and speculation!
David
I was thrilled when they added the Caray Faves to the sidebar.
I wish we had some some sort of searchable archives/history here. I would love to pick the brains of the Caray "pioneers".
Gringo, I'm sorry, but I do not want Esmeralda to end up with Pablo, and for me the slurpy kisses between them is not hot.
I'd like for Fela and Fernando to take care of the babies. It would be like them getting a second chance at parenting together.
Carlos would...... well IDK what he do.
Reminder: after 200, you have to click somewhere to get the second page of comments. Does anyone know how to describe it better?
