Quiero Amarte Highlights & Discussion (Week 15-Dec 29)

A new week and a new year begins for this wonderful story of love, friendship, hate, envy, betrayal, obsession, mystery, and evil, but mostly love. There's lost love, new love, old love, rejected love, filial love, maternal love, well, all kinds of LOVE. There is also hope and expectation.

Hopefully, Emma deposits the whole check to Amaya's account.
Hopefully, Lucrecia's plan to sprinkle depression drops in Juliana's car backfires.
Hopefully, Eloisa and German straighten out their story before he dies.
Hopefully, Juliana and Eloisa unmask the fake hypnotist.
Hopefully, Amaya will not use the same fake, or maybe she should. The joke would be on him.
Hopefully, Cesar will not acquire Manuel's shares in Nescafe.

Constanza almost gets a headache. Salvador doesn't notice.
Ivan is almost a saint. Uli is not pleased.
Manuel and Geno almost get caught in the garage. Ooops, they do, by Cesar and his camera.
Flavia almost got TMI about Mauro and Florencia. How much will they tell her.
Dolores was almost right in not telling Amaya about her mother. Amaya understands.

Thanks, Anita! Another exciting week ahead!

Thanks, Anita! I finally got a chance to the Friday episode. Looking forward to this week's action.

(Watching Lu with Lucio is painful, though. What a b!tch.)

I've noticed the actress, who plays Greta on Hasta El Fin Del Mundo, is on this TN.

Thanks for the fresh page, Anita. Safe travels!

Steve- Yes, Olivia B. is doing double duty right now in two very different roles, Greta and Dolores.

Vivi,

Beautiful job. You got it all in.
Thanks muchísimo. No time to say more now. I'll be back tomorrow.

Thanks, Floridia!

Just double checking that I'm on duty today.

Vivi,

I still remember your sensational Saturday recaps from La Verdad Oculta where Alejandra Barros performed so well in her role opposite Eduardo Yanez. (I cannot make the special "n" without leaving page.)

I was pleased that Manuel reunited with Mauro and the latter was obviously delighted.

There are several actions to be feared in the future -- among them
Oscar's investigation of Manuel, Uli's investigation of Iván -- whether or not anything is found against him, the depression inducing poisoning of Juliana, and the harm that Lulu may cause for Amaya.

Do you know how long this TN is scheduled to run?

I kept waiting for Juliana to speak to her father about the phony shrink. Is she waiting for
more evidence? I think what she has now is plenty to throw the bum out.

Interesting storyline!

Ok. I'm still assuming I'm recapping. I'm about to work on it now. Warning: I am notoriously terse and succinct to a fault.

Monday 12/29 Part 1
The captions were lagging something fierce, so I'm flying without a net.

Skipping the old...
Max talks to Flavia about hearing the news that their father was in love with Florencia. Flavia wonders why Lu favors Cesar so much if he was the reason she had to give up her big musical career. Flavia and Max both comment on how differently Lu treats her children. They also agree that to marry without love would be terrible. Flavia says she would rather be a single mother than be married and miserable. Max makes a similar statement about taking care of a child, but he would never marry just because of a pregnancy. No sirree. He will not marry if there is no love there. Flavia notes that Cons was not all that wrong: Max does have feelings for Amaya, but Flavia is glad he didn't marry Cons. Max leaves and Flavia takes to big shots of tequila (when did she develop a drinking problem?)

Cons skypes with some dude in Mexico City about the conference she helped organize. Then she talks to Manuel and he's still annoyed by her running of with Sal. He thinks it makes her just like Max and Amaya. Cons thinks that Max and Amaya had something going for a very long time. Max really hurt her and for now she's going with the flow and doing things as they occur to her. Manuel thinks that's a terrible idea. No one will take her seriously or respect her. Does she plan on living with every pareja she may have in the future. She knows one thing: she doesn't plan on ever marrying again unless she is SURE the guy loves her.

German finds Elo at the church. He lets her know he is dying and he came back from Houston to make sure she knew the truth. Lu got back at him for not wanting to sleep with her. He asked Lu to make sure Elo got away to Houston and instead Lu turned her sister in and let her go to jail for 5 years!

Monday 12/29 Part 2
Hmmm...in addition to lagging captions, there are whole lines missing...

Germ explains he was an idiot to trust his business partner, but he swears he tried to help Elo. Elo knows her sister isn't the best person, but can't believe she let Elo rot in jail. Germ says he's dying and wants to leave with a clear conscience. He's got an inoperable brain tumor and only has 6 months to live.

Amaya ignores her phone while she visits her parents' grave. She can't believe her mom isn't actually there. She cried her so many times. Could her mother possibly still be alive. She prays and asks her father to help her find her mother.

Germ came back to confess everything to Elo. When he heard she was living with Lu, he got nervous. Lu is the enemy. Elo thinks Germ is the worse enemy. She shouldn't have trusted him.

Mariana reports she doesn't know where Amaya is. Max is worried and asks Mariana to let him know if she hears form Amaya. He's going to go see if she's back at the hotel in San Cristobal. Mariana and Ivan offer to take Vale back to Dolores' house.

Germ's associate convinced him to open a business in Elo's name and not tell her. After everything went down, he tried to find Elo and asked Lu to get Elo to Houston. She promised she would, but instead, called the police. Elo asks when Lu asked him to sleep with her. He says before and even during his marriage to Elo. And it burned Lu up that he always chose Elo over her.

Caro and Jorge discuss Amaya's "disappearance." Caro explains that Amaya is the type to seek out some solitude when she's upset or needs to think about something. Jorge agrees that the news Amaya received is difficult to digest. Caro invites him to San Cristobal.

Germ warns Elo not to trust her sister.

Cip reports to Uli that word is getting around that Cip was for real. At first people were doubtful. Uli hands over an envelope of cash to pay the coffee growers. Cip says the bodega will be filled with coffee and asks "to whom are WE going to sell it? (vamos a vender)" Uli corrects him "to whom AM I going to sell (voy a vender) it?" Uli tells him he'll find out eventually. Uli hands Cip another wad of cash for his trouble.

Germ and Elo arrive at the Montesinos manse and confront Lu. Elo tells her that she knows Germ asked Lu to help her escape while they proved her innocence, but instead Lu called the police and turned her in. Lu of course denies it. She tells Elo that Germ used her and lied to her. Germ denies that. Germ explains again that Lu did this to get back at him for not wanting to sleep with her. Lu claims she hated him and was completely indifferent to him. He asks why she wanted him in her bed then. Just to humiliate her sister and prove that men preferred Lu and not Elo?

Monday 12/29 Part 3
Lu throws Germ and Elo out of the house. Lu thinks Elo should be grateful for all Lu has done for her. Elo tells her not to pat herself on the back. It was Mauro that extended help her Elo.

Geno meets her son at a cell phone store. He gripes at her for being late and grumbles about her "work" and "traffic" excuses. He's picked a pretty expensive model. Everyone has one and he won't accept less. (I do not like this twerp.) The clerk asks for José's ID and the credit card for payment. José hands over his ID and Geno the credit card. Cesar's spy lurks nearby and gets a picture of both (The credit card just has Genoveva on it. No last name. LOL) Spy calls Cesar immediately to report the findings. Geno has an 18 year old son who goes by José Mendoza López. Cesar asks if he has the last name Olázabal. The spy doesn't think so. Cesar asks if Geno has any other kids. The spy doesn't think so. He's going to ask some neighbors. Cesar wants to know as soon as the spy finds anything. Cesar tells himself he's going to get those shares from Manuel and this info is going to be helpful.

Germ tells Elo he has a room and she's welcome to stay with him. Elo declines the invitation and tells him nothing has changed between them. She still will not forgive him. Germ promises to be there for her as long as life will allow him to be. They say good night.

Monday 12/29 Part 4
Max still frantically searches for Amaya.

Cip announces he's going to be a millionaire. Dolores pretty much rolls her eyes. Mariana and Ivan arrive with Vale (Chocolate in tow...where's Taco?) Ivan takes advantage of the situation to introduce himself and assure Cip he has honorable intentions toward Marino. Cip rudely tells him if his intentions are honorable then he needs to make scads of money and shower Mariana with "lujos". Mariana reminds Cip that those things mean nothing to her, but Cip gripes that they DO mean a lot to him (Erm, Cip? Ivan belongs to Mariana.) Cip excuses himself. Dolores asks Ivan if he would do them the honor of eating supper with them and he says he would be honored to.

Flavia arrives at El Deseo and Uli notes she's been drinking. He fixes her another drink and asks how the festival went. She tells him she found out some things and she doesn't really want to talk about them. She slugs back the drink like a champ, impressing Uli. She asks if he loves her. Forever? He says he does. she would hate for someone to be with her "por interes". She only wants someone to be with her for love. They make out.

Lu curses Elo.

Elo packs her things and worries about leaving Lucio. With the information Germ gave her, she is almost positive that Lucio saw Lu and Omar gettin' it on and that caused his trauma. Juliana interrupts her packing and Elo informs her that Lu has thrown her out of the house.

Monday 12/29 Parte 5
Juliana invites Elo to stay at her house. Another invitation that Elo declines. Right now Elo just wants to be far away from the house. Lucio overhears the conversation and gets very upset. Elo tries to comfort him and calm him down, calling him "hijo". Lu slithers in with her martini and scoffs at Elo's use of "hijo" He's my son, she spits. Lucio tells his mother he wants to be Elo's son and Juliana tells Lu she can't throw Elo out of the house. Lu tells Juliana to butt out. Lucio gets even more upset and Lu calls him pathetic.

Into the chaos enters Mauro. Lu tells him that Elo insulted her and blamed her for something Germ did. The two of them cannot live together. Either Elo leaves or Lu does.

Whor sneaks into an office (Emma's I assume) and takes pictures of some files.

Mauro thinks the sisters need to resolve their differences. Lu insists that Elo offended her deeply and there is no forgiveness for it. Lu tells Mauro that Elo brought Germ to the house. Elo confirms that Germ told her the truth about everything that happened and said some terrible things about Lu. If Elo brought Germ to the house, it was to get to the bottom of things and find out who was telling the truth and who was lying. Lu insists Germ is the liar. He accused Lu of sending Elo to jail. This upsets Lucio terribly and he screams that only bad people go to jail and tía is not bad. I almost lose it during this scene. I wish someone would shove that martini up Lu's nose. Mauro confronts Lu about spilling the cárcel beans in front of Lucio and Alan. Lu blames her sister for bringing Germ to the house. She's tried to protect her sister from the truth getting out for years. Elo takes a little of the blame. All she wanted was the truth. Why did Lu call the police when Germ asked her to help Elo get away?

Cons calls Nora. She's living with Sal...but she's not sure how she feels about him.

Mauro is cara de you didn't help your sister? Lu denies that Germ asked her to do anything. If she could have avoided the embarrassment of her sister going to jail, she would have. Not for Elo, though. She would have done it for her and her children. Elo tells Lu that Germ can't be lying 'cause he's dying! Lu pulls the crying "after all I did for you" card. Elo responds that all the kindness was from Mauro and Lu calls her ungrateful. Elo says she is not ungrateful and it hurts her to leave the house because of Lucio.

Max runs into Amaya in the park. He was worried something had happened to her. He is with her. He's her "pareja" and parejas stick together. She's not used to having such a supportive partner. Max doesn't know how things were with Whor, but he explains that according to his relationship philosophy couples stick together through good and bad and thick and thin. Smoochies ensue. She does't want to go back to the hotel. She just wants to be with Max. He says he knows the perfect place where they can be calm and he can be with her. They leave the park.

Mauro is still trying to understand what's going on. Could Lu really have betrayed her own sister? How can Elo believe that of her sister? How can Elo believe the guy that set her up to go to jail? Elo said it took a lot, but she believe Germ. Lu is right. She and Elo cannot live under the same roof because she is sure that Lu wanted to hurt her. Lu tells her to get out.

fin de episode.

What Mexican episode # did they give today (12/29)?

Great job, Sara! I'm just now watching my recording. I'm glad that Elo believed German, but I'm starting to get frustrated with Mauro for not seeing what an evil beyotch Lucrazy is.

Haven't watched the episode yet, but I'm torn about German. Great that he told Eloisa about Lu, but who does that jerk think he is demanding forgiveness? How about getting the whole thing straightened out LEGALLY before you drop dead, and then ask for forgiveness? He's not worthy of Elo, and should've slept with Lu. They're perfect for each other.

Ok. Off to home early to recover from this holiday cold by watching telenovelas!

Kelly

Looks like Manuel makes spoiled, entitled kids-- even the ones who don't grow up with him. :)

Sara- Not to fear. Val walked in holding both dogs and immediately puts Taco down on the floor. We then seem him happily walking around exploring under the table.

Thanks! I was distracted by Vale giving Cip a peck on the cheek. Such a sweet girl. He doesn't deserve it, but she seems to like him.

I couldn't catch all of Elo's episode ending speech, she said she knew Lu's true nature not just because of "what Germ said but blah blah blah that dropped the veil that was in front of my eyes."

Was she alluding to the fake psychologist?

Hey Sara! Thanks! Wow! I wish I could do succinct! Anywho. I think Elo said something to the effect that with time everybody would have their eyes opened to the real Lu. That is really loose, not literal at all. This confrontation and Elo getting thrown out of the house was really unexpected but I like it. Finally a little bit of doubt has been planted in Mauro's mind. He's going to think about this, believe me. I think it's just the first little pebble dislodged from a pile of crap that is eventually going to become an avalanche of smelly revelations. I also liked that Germ got right to the point and we didn't have any of this overused schtick of interrupting a conversation at a crucial point.

I know Juli will stay in contact with Elo cause they know all about the fake shrink. I'm sure Juli will first offer support and make sure Elo is all right but I agree, Elo needs to get away from Lu ASAP! Maybe this distance will give her an even better perspective on the havoc Lu and Cesar are about to try to wreak in Juli's life.

I guess Flavia hitting the sauce was an impulsive response to this shocking news about her parent's marriage. All the kids know Cesar is the favorite but this little piece was surprising and incongruent with that very favoritism. If this does develop into a drinking problem I can just see Flavia's tequila-lubricated lips letting loose an inconvenient truth one day that will also work to bring Lucrazy down.

Thanks again Sara!

Flavia has always come across as a VERY insecure person to me, which has a lot to do with Lucrazy's rejection and lack of love for her. Her bravado is just a front to hide her insecurities. I think hearing that her mother was second best, and not really loved by Mauro, has tapped into a lot of the fears she has for herself. I don't think she believes that she is worthy of, or can be loved by someone for just being herself. Hence, her questioning Ulises about loving her, but needing to get drunk before she had the courage to do so.

So it looks like Flavia is not a drinker (yet.) This was the first I'd seen it and I wasn't sure if I had missed something from past episodes.

You are so right Vivi. There was an episode some time back when Flavia was talking about a possible love interest or just relationships in general and Lu right away shot her down by saying anyone expressing an interest in her was in it because of her family's wealth and prominence, not any qualities she might have as a woman. As usual it was a nasty, cutting exchange. As much as Lu has built Cesar up, she has torn Flavia down. Nasty piece of work that Lucrazy!

Thanks Sara and Vivi,

I appreciate you pitching in to give Anita and Lila a break. Hope you, or others, can continue to do so at least once in a while. Don't want our brilliant recappers to burn out.

Succinct is good. Comprehensive is good. Witty and snarky is good. Direct and to the point is good.

I just miss so much without subtitles, but even the Spanish subtitles keep me from focusing on the sounds and getting what I can, and the English just altogether defeat the point of trying to learn any sort of Spanish from watching. The recaps help give me the context to begin to make sense of what I'm watching and hearing.

That and fill in the gaps for episodes I miss. I read some recappers make comments to the effect that they have missed episodes and are still able to make sense of what is going on in the episode they are recapping. That is so not me. Without the recaps, I would be SO lost when I did get to watch.

Hmm. Now that the allegations are out, there's no point in Lu killing German or Elo. Suspicions have been raised that will be difficult to suppress entirely, especially with Juliana's insight into the "Dr."

But, I am behind, so on to continue catching up.

Chris in FL

Recap's coming guys! Hang on!

Thanks, Chris! Glad to know, whatever our styles, you guys really use and appreciate the recaps. Yeah, catch on up and let's all get into this engaging story! Back in a minute with the 'cap!

Watching my recording right now and Lucio is breaking MY heart. (sob)

Quiero Amarte: Love Nests and Love Nots! Pt. 1 12-30-14

Hello friends! Instead of being on the patio we are cozied up to a cracklin’ fire with cups and glasses of whatever keeps us warm and gives us the most cheer. Likewise, there is a table piled with whatever fare fills your tummy and sets you right. It is a never-ending buffet so feel free to go back for seconds and thirds: we’re going to ring the New Year in together.
We get a brief review of Max and Amaya on the park bench pledging that they will love each other through the good and bad and work through problems together. He leads her away with a happy conspiratorial grin to a place where they can be together.
We get a review as well of Elo agreeing that as painful as it is, she believes German over Lu and she tells Mauro that she must go.
This same night over at El Deseo, the desire has been fulfilled and Uli looks down with disdain at his still inebriated conquest. She wants to snuggle but he is disgusted. He doesn’t want any problems with her family by her staying here or for gossip to brew. He indelicately throws her clothes and bags at Flavia who is clutching a sheet around her body with one hand and a drink in the other. Uli tell her she has had a lot to drink and a drunken woman is very disagreeable to him. He leaves her to get dressed so the chauffeur can take her home.
After smoothly outing Tia Eloisa’s past, Juliana took Alan and an upset Lucio up to his room. Alan and Juliana help Lucio to understand that sometimes good people, people that are innocent go to prison and bad people go free. Tia Elo enters with Mauro Tia comes in with Mauro and Lucio goes to her and tearfully embraces her. She tells him she loves him like a son and it hurt for this information about her past to come out but swears that she is innocent. He believes her because she is a good person and he loves her. She has to go but they will see each other. Mauro says he will find a way for them to remain together and Juli informs them all she has invited Elo to come and live with her and Alan.
Jorge and Caro enjoy a glass of wine in a cozy little eatery. Jorge gets a text from Max that he has found Amaya, they are together and she is fine. Caro has an easy opening to fulfill her promise to see what she could find out about Montesino family secrets. The conversation doesn’t feel underhanded though. The two friends discuss the potential harm of long held family secrets in both Max and Amaya’s families. Jorge assures Caro that Max and Amaya can count on the weighty support of Mauro and his siblings, except for Cesar. Jorge also sincerely doubts that Lu will be supportive of them. Caro asks why. Cesar and Max are like oil and water and Lu is very private, cold and distant.
The force of Lucio’s grief and Juliana’s quick thinking leads to a solution agreeable to all: Elo agrees to move in right away with her and Alan. Lucio will spend his days at her house and continue to get the care and support of Tia Elo and will sleep at home under his parents’ roof.
Jorge expands on the Montesino family dynamics: all the kids know that Cesar is Lu’s favorite and Mauro’s oldest thinks she is a demon. When she was a little kid Lu made her life a hell and drove her from her father’s home. Pero ya! Jorge has had enough of talking endlessly about Max and Amaya: he wants to, ehem, get to know her a little better. They agree to find a little love nest of their own!
Well, here’s one bedroom that instead of being a love nest will be hosting a yell fest. Of course Lu is the victim in this situation: Juliana is a traitor and the two of them hate her! Elo is going to continue to take charge of Lucio. Mauro is in disbelief that Elo believes that crooked ex of hers but he cannot let this misunderstanding between Lu and her sister negatively impact Lucio. Lucio will spend his days with Elo and his nights with them that’s final and Lu better not oppose his decision! This sets Lu off to angry and hurt wailing. Mauro leaves to go to Juliana’s.

Pt. 2

Max and Amaya, arms around each other, arrive at the same cabanas they stayed at when, still injured, she fled the hospital to avoid the angry Whor. The clerk recognizes them and greets them warmly. They want one room this time with an itty bitty bed Max says. They giggle. The clerk confesses that a young man came to verify that they stayed there, she is sorry. Max and Amaya are full of love so they forgive her, believe she didn’t do it with bad intentions but playfully warn her not to do so again. MmmmMax and Amaya are literally wrapped up in each other and start losing themselves in kisses right there at the desk! [Cute young clerk looks like she’d like to be in Amaya’s place!]

Cesar’s spy/flunky, Negro (can’t remember his proper name) calls give him the dope on Geno: A neighbor says Geno has lived alone in a nice apartment for the past ten years. José is her only child was in the US for 3 years and just returned. Strange thing though, Manuel hasn’t visited her since José arrived.

Max and Amaya arrive at their room as she finishes a call with Val. Amaya is just tickled pink recalling the last time they were there. She recalls how upset Mauro was. Yes, but he’s very happy we’re together now. Amaya agrees, he’s been so sweet to her but she doesn’t think his mom is happy about them. Well, Max thinks Lu has to accept their relationship and if she doesn’t, that’s no impediment to them. There is a tense moment when Amaya asks what he would do if he had to choose between them. Why would he have to? Well, Amaya says, she may be influenced by the things Connie said about her. Max, who has been gently but insistently undressing Amaya during this conversation tries to wrap it up so they can bet busy with other matters at hand: What our parents went through won’t have an effect on us. If they marry she hopes Don Mauro will tell their great love story. She wants no more secrets, lies or misunderstandings between them. The sexy devil gets her to say she wants him. They kiss and sink down to the bed where they turn up the heat and the scene editor turns us away from what was surely a hot but tasteful love scene. Dang it!

On his way out, Mauro finds a sulking Lucio on the stairs. Lucio does not want his Tia to go. Mauro puts his arm around him and comforts him by telling him he can see Elo any time. Lucio can go every day and Lu won’t stop him. Feeling safe in his Papa’s arms Lucio tells him “When you weren’t in the house mama did bad things.” Mauro looks like he took a small shot in the gut. “Cosas malas,” Lucio repeats. “That’s why I don’t want to be alone with her. She’s a bad person because she breaks hearts.” Mauro holds him and chuckles, “No, you say that because she broke Tia’s heart.” Lucio’s agitation ramps up and he begins to pant, “No, it was when he was alive.” He totally breaks down, flushed and sobbing and won’t tell anymore, he can’t say, he doesn’t want a broken heart! Lucio heaves with sobs in Mauro’s arms.

A beautiful morning dawns. Max and Amaya lie in the rumpled bed. She thanks him for being by her side, loving her. Before they leave she wants them to go to somewhere. . .

Pt. 3

Jorge’s greeting to Hortensia is cut short when he spies Flavia lying on the couch. It looks like she’s been half eaten by the pillow! No, she’s just hung over. Horty tells him she got in late from her novio’s house and fell asleep on the sofa. Jorge awakens her and confirms that she was dropped off by Uli’s chauffeur. He tells her if Max found her instead of him he would be very angry. Flavia doesn’t want Jorge to tell Max any of what happened. Still wasted, he has to help her steady herself to stand. [Actress is nailing being drunk and hungover. Not that I know anything about that! Uh… well, back to the story!]

This lovely sunny morning finds Amaya and Max swimming and playing in the sparkling river. They play dueling lips as they profess love and vie for who loves the other more. [An impudent little bird calls in the background]. They pledge to be together and face every obstacle and not even think of having happen to them what happened to their parents. They seal and sanctify this vow with a deep kiss.

At breakfast in the MM, Mauro asks Lu why her son does not want to be near her. Lu says that it’s certainly because Elo has turned him against her. No, no Mauro says. He asks what does it mean that she breaks hearts? Lu dismisses Lucio’s words and Mauro’s concerns: He’s not normal. He has a disability; he says things that are incoherent and don’t make sense. Mauro persists. What does it mean? Lucio comes down to tell his dad he is ready and ignores his mom. Mauro motions silently as if to say “see what I mean.” Lucio goes to retrieve his art supplies. Mauro tells Lu to have Fake Doc to come to Juli’s to attend Lucio and he wants to talk to him to discover what the cause of this fear is! After Mauro leaves Lu thinks to herself she sure will talk to FD but to get him to threaten Lucio not to open his mouth!

Elo is at Juliana’s and has fixed a delicious and beautiful spread for breakfast for them two. Elo couldn’t sleep. Juli says looking at the positive side of her expulsion from the MM, they can now keep a close eye on FD’s “therapy” with Lucio. Elo shares that on one hand she is sorry for confronting Lu but she couldn’t help herself. No matter what Lu says, she has no doubt in the truth of what Germ told her!

Amaya, Vale and Nina are eating breakfast. Vale asks her mom if she’s wearing the same clothes as yesterday. Amaya launches a probably too detailed explanation and, er, pass the tortillas please. Delores/Nina looks at her like hmmm hmmm. [Y’all know, that momma’s “I told you so” look]. Vale wants to know why her mom looked sad yesterday at El P. At first Amaya denies it and then says she found out something about her grandparents that made her feel a little sad and sentimental. What things? Oh, just some things that are not important to talk about. Amaya diverts Vale’s attention to her homework.

Pt. 4

Elo tells Juli she knows that Lu’s affair with Omar before and after she married Mauro because Germ told her Lu also tried to seduce him before and after Elo and Germ were married. Lu then sought to punish her because Germ didn’t fall for her “charms.” Juliana is sorry for what Elo has gone through. Elo is surer than ever that Lu provoked Lucio’s regression because Lu is absolutely bereft of morals, scruples or shame!

Nina tells Amaya this why she didn’t want you to know about the possible provocations of the Great Accidents. She didn’t want anyone to suffer from things that could not be changed. Amaya assures Nina she knows she loves her and kept quiet out of this love.

Mauro is being driven somewhere and updates Max about the whole Tia Elo situation, Lu throwing her out and Lucio’s crisis. Max is surprised but not revolted to learn of his Tia’s incarceration. Max says every day he see the harm of secrets and there are things happening there in El P that Mauro needs to know: Delores told Amaya she thought the plane explosion that killed her father was provoked and so he went ahead and told her that her mother’s body was never found and now Flavia also knows about his love for Florencia. It seems the time has come to bring all these things to light, and that his mama learns about this love from the past that has tormented Mauro all these years. [Yikes! Mauro is the one that has a lot of things to learn!]

Constanza has taken the first steps to take up her position in the University. Sal waits for her as she enters with Sal’s University friend (UF). [Anybody know his name?] Sal gives them a weird look as UF is talking to Connie. She sits down and talks enthusiastically about the position: it seems incredible and the pay isn’t bad either. Sal implies that she is getting bored with him. No, he knows that she likes to be constructively occupied, especially in this town which does not have the rhythm and pace of Mexico. UF says she’ll get used to the rhythm and make new friends as well. Uh oh, Sal don’t need no stinkin’ friend: All he needs is his woman by his side! Connie begs to differ; they need a social group. UF agrees and to this end, this weekend he’s throwing a little dinner party at his house to introduce them to his circle of friends. Sal looks worried.

Juli, Elo and Lucio sit together. He’s going to be good so he can come every day. He goes off to look for Alan. Elo is Lu is going to dog her out to Lucio, that is speak ill of her. This gets Juli’s dander up and she threatens to Mauro all about Lu’s affair with Omar and Lucio’s catching them cavorting having traumatized Lucio! Elo begs her not to: She needs time to mount a defense against Lu!

Pt. 5

Jorge and Max have a little gentlemanly hunk banter about their lady loves. Jorge changes the tone: he tells him he found Flavia asleep on the sofa overhung. She had been with Uli who didn’t even accompany her home but had his chauffeur drop her off. Jorge thinks this is a cry for help and affection. Max thanks him. He will talk to her.

We have a split screen for a moment. Amaya tells Caro do the “girls” version of “did y’all get it on last night?” Amaya fairly swoons about her time with Max: he is such a Love, it makes her fall for him more and more! Caro says they were together and it was nice but she got the feeling Jorge doesn’t feel the same about her. Time will tell, hopefully it’s just something in her own head.

We get a few brief harvest scenes. Jorge takes a group photo of beaming workers with baskets full of coffee berries.

Elo continues trying to convince Juli not to approach Mauro with the truth just yet. Lu can easily destroy anything that Germ says because his reputation is in the toilet. And while she is convinced Lu and Omar doin’ the do traumatized Lucio, they have to get this independently verified by a real Psychiatrist and get a diagnosis BEFORE revealing their suspicions so it will carry more weight! [Okay. Quite frankly they were talking really fast on this next bit and the (Spanish) captions just pooted out!] [I think] Juliana says she will be in charge of outing the FD and Elo says that if Lu is behind that, she will have to also confess that she had Elo sent to prison. [Help!]

Lu meets with Fake Doc about meeting with Lucio. He wants to know more about the secret she’s trying to keep Lucio from revealing. She snaps that he doesn’t need to know anything, just drum into Lucio that if he talks he will be responsible for the ruin of the family.

Cesar has asked to meet with Manuel. Cesarin (as Manuel calls him) has his own version of a smile because he thinks he’s got Manny by the short hairs. He came to talk to Manuel about his shares in Nescafe. Didn’t your father tell you I didn’t want to sell? Cesar didn’t think he’d want to continue being a shareholder. Manuel tells Cesar they made up. Well. Cesar insists that he sell his shares and tells Manuel if he knows what’s good for him, he will sell. I don’t like your tone. Well he is referring to is that it won’t if people know that Genoveva has been his lover for many years, that they have a son together who does not carry his name. Well, Manuel should sell Cesar his shares and Manny’s secret will be safe with him. Manuel’s face freezes.

Well folks, there you have it! I for one am hoping that Manuel creates an auxiliary anal orifice (without anesthesia) for Cesarin!

Sorry for the formatting in part 1! I don't know what happened?

Veteran bloggers: can I go back and fix part 1 by deleting it and pasting in the corrected one or is it too late? Thanks!

*Elo is afraid Lu is going to dog her out to Lucio, that is speak ill of her.

Hola to All,

I am way behind. I just read Sara's recap. Thanks, Sara. Well done! Although moderately brief, you still filled me in on several details I had missed because of rushing through. Normally, I watch these episodes slowly and savor them. Lately, I am watching on the fly. Next week will bring a return to normalcy so that this TN can receive the dedication it richly deserves.

My second daughter is still here with her two young daughters. On top of this, I decided to buy my first smart phone. I know, I know; I am way behind in this as well. My children have been after me for years to do this, but I did not see the need. I am home by my big computer most of the day. Then last weekend, my children demonstrated for me the Talk and Text feature, and I was hooked.
I have suddenly found a need to text whereas before, I rarely used texting. Today I should consummate the deal! It's rather like buying a car - investigating endless possibilities and carriers.

In any case, it is early Wed., and I am about to start watching Tuesday's episode. I'll be back much later after reading the recap to wish everyone, Happy New Year."

Excellent recap, Lila!

As I sad while is was watching yesterday evening, Lucio's scenes were breaking my heart. I was so mad at Mauro for being sort of dismissive, although loving, about the things Lucio was saying about Lu. This is the most that Lucio has opened up about what's really going on! Dammit, Mau!

Thank goodness we had the romantic and smile inducing scenes of Amaya and Max! I laughed when Val pointed out that Amaya was wearing the same clothes, and that look on Nina's face. Ha!

Flavia's walk of shame was definitely more shameful. Drunk and ditched by her supposed boyfriend, right after meaningless sex on his couch. Ouch!

Hey Floridia! I know you're enjoying your family! What a wonderful time of year! Congratulations on your smart phone purchase! I had a "clever phone" that I liked a lot but Mr. Lila got me a smart Samsung a few years ago and I've never looked back. It is way past time for an upgrade but I don't want to: this phone has a slide out actual keyboard which I love and no new phones I know of have this anymore. It's all on-screen keyboard. I guess this type of keyboard is the "old fogey" model! Whatever!

Good Morning Vivi! thank you girl! I have got to step up my editing game though: the formatting of part one is just ugly and I found so many mistakes. Oh well! Glad the content made up for that!

Yes, Lucio was a real heart breaker last night and I'm with you: I could strangle Mauro! Now, he was going to divorce Lu, he believes what Juli told him about how Lu tormented her; when is he going to get a clue and see there's more going on with her than just being a little bitchy!!! You're right, Lucio had NEVER opened up to anyone like that. Mauro, if you can't make sense of it, PLEASE mention this to Elo and/or Juli!

The scene at Nina's breakfast table was hilarious! I just can't get over how great these actors are! Little Vale looked kind of scared when she asked about Amaya's clothes, Amaya, even as she spoke looked as if she knew Vale wasn't buying her line of bull and the look on Nina's face was priceless!! Well done! Comic relief without having some useless, stupid character or storyline!

So right about Flavia! She didn't even merit the bed for their first time. Pardon my crudeness, but he really treated her like a used condom! How is she going to react to this once she's sober!

Thanks again and see y'all later!

Thanks for your marvelous recap, Lila! I'm catching up right now.

You're welcome, Sara! See ya!

HAPPY NEW YEAR. . .HAVE A BLESSED, PEACEFUL AND WONDERFUL NEW YEAR MY FRIENDS!!

Good Morning QA peeps! Who had Wednesday, 12-31? I'm happy to do a really, really bare bones bullet point preceding my New Years Day recap if needed.

Thanks!

On the 23 of December Anita asked me to be on standby, then later (I haven't found that date yet) she asked if I could do Monday and Thursday. So I guess I'm confused and should have done it. Unfortunately hubs and I are getting ready to go out of town and I can't really recap yesterday's show. :(

Thank you, Sara! No problem. I will do a quickie for yesterday. No problem at all.

You and hubbie have a wonderful time and Happy New Year to you, darlin'!

Quiero Amarte Wednesday, 12-31-14

Happy New Year y’all! Here’s wishing everyone a 2015 filled with peace and love to you and yours! Here’s a little quickie on yesterday’s action.

Well, I didn’t get my wish, Manuel did NOT rip Cesarin a new one: he caved to protect his precious Constanza, and usurped the board meeting agenda to announce he was going to sell his shares thus dissolving his partnership and membership in the executive board of Nescafe. This caving took place even after he “consulted” with Genoveva about what to do. The choice was between confronting the truth with his two children: That yes, he fathered Jose while he was married to Connie’s mother but he’s going to recognize Jose, acknowledge his relationship with Genoveva and that does not diminish his love for Connie. OR, he can give in to Cesar’s blackmail. Manuel made his choice.

Mauro tries to talk him out of it to no avail. Manuel claims his decision is because Max does indeed have a relationship with Amaya and her working in Nescafe means Mauro approves and supports that. Manuel has no answer for Mauro’s response that Max has a right to rebuild his life as Connie apparently has with Salvadaor. They remain friends though both regret this move. Later, Cesar mocks Genoveva about how the tables have turned: she lives a secret life and tries to dirty others to make themselves feel better. (Remember she told the truth about Cesar cancelling the tickets for Juliana, Franco and Alan to attend Mauro’s birthday party). Well, nobody messes with him and she’s not long for Nescafe. Also later Manuel, deeply pissed at Cesarin, tells him he will pay for this. The only jab Manuel can get in at this point is that he thinks Max is a much better person than Cesar. Cesar flings back a truth we all know: if he didn’t keep secrets, this wouldn’t have happened!

Max has a tender brother to sister talk with Flavia about the previous night’s fiasco with Uli. He is worried that she doesn’t value herself as she should, he does not want her to get hurt. He counsels her that she must love and respect herself first and then she will attract someone who values her for who she is and love her as she deserves.

When Horty brings her breakfast Flavia pumps her for information on Uli. Well, he’s a despot who doesn’t treat his workers well. Flavia wants to know what she’s heard about how he treats women and Uli’s interest in Mariana. Horty tells her about the whole forced employment thing which Mariana rejected resulting in the firing of her parents and how Uli was always sniffing around Mariana to give her a ride home. In a later scene Horty fills Mariana in on what she told Flavia so that Uli will never bother her again! Flavia tries to get bitchy with Mariana later but Mariana doesn’t take the bait and even congratulates her on being Uli’s novia.

Just to confirm for us something we know but Flavia doesn’t, Uli totally manipulates her into feeling sorry for him and apologizing for getting drunk the previous night. Uli claims that his mother was an alcoholic who died of liver failure and thus he cannot abide being around a woman headed down the same destructive path as his mom. He also claims to have told Flavia this, she doesn’t remember but gulps it down as readily as she did the tequila the previous night. She apologizes to Uli and he "graciously" admits he acted like a jerk and apologizes as well. She’s back to calling him “mi amor” and they’ll see each other tonight. Uli’s mother actually died after a diabetic crisis. [Uuuuu, you don’t lie about and use your mother’s death for your own personal gain. You will pay for this, Uli!]

Happy New Year!!!!

Thanks for the recap, Lila. I did not watch yesterday, so have to catch up later today.

12-31-14 Pt. 2

In a significant moment, the housekeeper is cleaning in Cesar’s room and knocks down a bunch of papers. On top we see revealed the paternity results showing that the probability that the late (but not great) Omar is Cesar’s father is 99.99985%! This paper fell out of the printer unnoticed by Cesar when he first got the results. He doesn’t know this paper exists! The question is, who will see it? It’s right there in Cesar’s room, what’s to stop him from seeing it and destroying it? Right after this scene Cesar strides triumphant through the parking garage that “Mauro Montesinos”, not papa, will never find out that he is not his son and even if he does, he resolves that this is the first step to his taking over the coffee empire. [Add an evil Muwaha ha ha ha!] Cesar later meets with Mauro where the clueless Mauro states his surprise at Manuel’s decision but is glad it is Cesar who is buying the shares.

In other action Delores’ kidney has deteriorated and she must have it removed immediately! She tries to hide this from Mariana and Amaya but Vale outs her and she admits it with an air of lightness as if it’s no big deal. Mariana and Amaya estan muy impactadas!

Useless husband, Cip, continues buying up coffee in Uli’s dirty deal. Cip and Efrain wonder who Uli is going to sell all this coffee to. They don’t know but Cip loves the pay!

Connie is having Max flashbacks as she walks around town and reprimands herself: She must forget him, she must forget him!

Whor goes to talk to Cesar. He is worried that he will be displaced by Cesar’s sister. HALF sister, Cesar corrects him. Not to worry, his position as spy, unsuspecting embezzler and all around brown noser is safe as long as Cesar is around. He doesn’t have to report to Juliana, just report all her movements to Cesar.

Lu keeps Emma on tract in her eliminate Amaya plan. After their phone call Lu pledges that Amaya will pay for having put her eyes on her son. Later she has an intimate moment with her black execution ensemble and weapon.

We get festival scenery, Caro and Amaya wrapping up the first phase of their filming and bonding over the joy of working together in Nescafe – yaay! Amaya also feels more sure in Max’s love and is not worried about his mother’s possible opposition. Of course, she will stay quiet for now about her suspicions until after she verifies whether her mother is dead or alive: then she and Max will work together to seek justice!

Jorge and Max also discuss his and Amaya’s relationship. Amaya is waiting for just the right moment to tell Vale and thus bring their relationship to the light of day. Max is worried about his mother's possible negative reaction. Jorge understands that it won’t be easy for Senora Lu to accept the daughter of the woman whom her husband loved for so long. Max doesn’t quite get how this relationship from so long ago can be an impediment to his and Amaya’s love. Jorge impresses upon Max the importance of reassuring Amaya of his love so that she won’t feel his mom is a rival for her. The guys stop in a little shop and buy amber lockets for Caro, Amaya and Vale.

12-31-14 Pt. 3

Jorge and Max meet up with Caro and Amaya. They chat about the logistics of leaving after this first successful commercial shoot. They decide to go to a little town called Zinacantan to see the sites and well, they’ll see. They present the girls with the amber lockets. The amber protect against bad vibtrations. Gracias a Dios! They’re going to need them. Max leads the group to a clearing in a little wooded dell. There is a colorful little cabin surrounded by bright flowers. A waterfall and brook babble in the background.
Amaya can’t stand the suspense anymore. What’s up Max? Max announces that he and Amaya are going to marry! It’s no joke! Later they will have a civil and religious ceremony but right now in these beautiful lands where they met and fell in love they are going to have a traditional Chiapaneco marriage ceremony as a promise and commitment to their love. Max sends Jorge and Caro ahead to the little cabin. No sooner are they alone than Max pulls Amaya to him to drink in her love through his lips.

We then are treated to the colorful wedding ceremony and learn that Amaya doesn’t seem to be used to making tortillas. Max and Amaya look cute, festive and in love as they join as husband and wife!

Later in their cabana Max carries Amaya over the threshold and they kiss and Amaya peels off Max’s shirt and we get a few moments of that beautiful, toned back, and those firm and fully packed biceps embracing her and guiding her lovingly to the bed. Of course we must be spared such shocking goings on so they cut to a sunset and full moon rise.

We end on a scene described earlier at Nina’s when she is hit with a tremendous pain and admits to Mariana and Amaya that she must have her kidney removed. Freeze on Amaya’s worried countenance!
**********

Ok, I know our audience is a little smaller due to the holidays but I hope this helps y'all keep up with our virtual friends in novelaland!

You're welcome Vivi! Pull up a chair around the fire, girl and Happy New Year to you, too!

Happy New Year Everyone!!! I have to thank all you recappers. I have to agree with Chris in FL.

“I just miss so much without subtitles, but even the Spanish subtitles keep me from focusing on the sounds and getting what I can, and the English just altogether defeat the point of trying to learn any sort of Spanish from watching. The recaps help give me the context to begin to make sense of what I'm watching and hearing.”

I had hoped to comment more often when this TN started but I haven’t had the time. I so love this TN and look forward to the end of the day when I get home to watch it. Again thank you all for the recaps and comments.

Hey Blujean! Happy New Year! I know how it is! I had family visit for an extended time this spring and summer and just had to drop LQLVMR cause I knew there was no way I'd keep up with it. As I like to say, sometimes the three dimensional people get in the way! Stop by when you can!

I will try to get the recap up this afternoon or evening, if not, tomorrow morning!

Hi, Lila,

Thank you so much for your dedication. I just finished watching yesterday's episode - will watch today's later tonight.
I had been holding out hope for Manuel to do the right thing as Geno had advised. This guy is a Coward of the Highest Order and only making things much worse for himself and all involved.

The ceremony was well done. I was mixed up; I thought they were going to use it for the civil
ceremony. Thanks for clearing that up. Uli is creepy for sure, but at least he doesn't encourage
drinking.

Bought the phone - the largest size. Love it! Especially like the Talk and Text feature and the camera is terrific. ....so easy to use and very sharp pictures. I downloaded Spanish Dict! to have it readily available when I listen to CNN en Espanol in my car.

Enjoyed the romance of this episode with the ever beautiful theme song of AM. Bad things to follow.

Muchísimas gracias de nuevo, Lila.

Will return tomorrow.

All the best....

Thank you, Floridia! Happy New Year to you, too! Sounds like you got a cool phone! Once we get these things we wonder what we did without them! See you in comments later, take care!

Thursday, 1-1-15 Pt. 1

We’ve got an exciting show so let’s just get to it! Please refer to my quickie recap of yesterday for the overlapped scenes: the love-making between Max and Amaya and Vale’s outing Nina’s illness of Mariana and Amaya.

One detail I forgot is that prior to Nina’s doubling with pain she reminded Amaya of her promise to talk to Mauro about the Great Accidents. After Delores’ pain settles down she assures Amaya she will follow the Dr.’s medical advice to the letter but she trusts in God that He will heal her and she will not need an operation. Amaya assures her, in turn, that she will take care of all the costs associated with the operation.

This scene is interspersed with one of Cip drinking with Baldomero who resists Cip’s invitation to stay late and get sloshed with him. Cip invites him to come work with him and forget the harvest. Baldo is not taking that chance and leaves.

The filming of the harvest festivities has wrapped up and our fabulous foursome prepare to return to Mexico City. Caro and Jorge are together in a little café. She wants to talk about them. She wants to know where this is going because she had such a great time with him. . .marriage? kids? Jorge is frank and not the least bit harsh when he tells her he has never thought of marrying or not marrying and he doesn’t see children in his future at this time but he hasn’t ruled that out either. He may consider these when the right person comes along. This gives Caro an owie! Does this mean she is NOT the one? Still even-toned and warm Jorge tells her that is NOT what he is saying: they are just getting to know each other and should let things flow.

Max does his final review of the books with Ivan who will continue to take good care of the Zona Estrella. Hector is also there and Max congratulates them on another bountiful year at El P! Suddenly the strains of singing and guitar music waft up to the study. Uli and Flavia are surrounded by a mariachi band singing a serenade to Flavia! He presents her with a huge bouquet of two dozen long-stemmed red roses. She is impressed and surprised – no one has ever given her a serenade before -- and rewards him with a big ole kiss. This beautiful detail is to demonstrate he is sorry for yesterday and how much he loves having her as his woman. Max, Hector and Ivan come down and Max tries to object because of Uli’s shabby behavior of the previous day. . . . Max can’t compete with a mariachi band and Uli’s hot lips!

Over at MM Lu dismisses a nervous house staff who misses Eloisa’s directives on preparing dinner. They are to come up with daily menus themselves. Cesar asks her to bring a bottle of Champaign. Mauro quips that either Lu has got to be more tolerant or she herself will end up in the kitchen. No way! Mauro gives up. How about FD? Lu tells him FD will start meeting with Lucio at Juli’s and FD is prepared to meet with him tomorrow. Cesar and Lu question the need to talk to FD. Mauro wants to get to the bottom of this anger and fear Lucio has for Lu. In a rare demonstration of openness, Cesar says he didn’t know Lucio was afraid of his mom. [I think this is true because Lucio doesn’t like Cesar either and would never share this with him.] Lu has her usual dismissive and contemptuous tone when she denies any knowledge of why he should be afraid. All she can think of is that it’s because she’s the one who had him hospitalized. Of course Cesar agrees.

1-1-15 Pt. 2

Enough of that! Cesar wants to celebrate his purchasing of Manuel’s shares. With a thunderous ejection of the cork Cesar pours the bubbly. Mauro honestly tells Lu and Cesar he does not like how things developed to bring them to this point but he is happy that Cesar is becoming a major shareholder and partner. They toast, Mauro hugs and kisses Cesar and tells him he’s a good son. Cesar says that Max never tells him that, Mauro good naturedly protests and tells him he is always telling him he is a master strategist, a risk taker and manages with skill and aplomb. Lu is beaming with pride but no sincere expression of affection from Mauro goes unpunished: Cesar flashes his mom and sinister, knowing smile.

Max calls to check in with Tia Eloisa to tell he will see her soon. To her question, yes, he knows all about what happened, Mauro told him and he loves her just the same, she is like a mother to him and he can always count on him. This brings Elo to tears of joy! Elo tells Juli what happened. Juli tells her this shows her fears were unfounded and nothing is going to change for her. Good people like Max know that anyone, everyone makes mistakes.

Caro, Amaya and Vale are at the airport in Tuxtla now. Caro expresses concern for Nina. They discuss Caro’s talk with Jorge. Amaya agrees: Caro should just let things flow. Caro is still a little stricken by the talk with Jorge. Max and Jorge approach and Val runs with glee to greet Max. Elsewhere in the airport Uli has is dropping Flavia off and they kiss like it’s going out of style. You can fairly see the little hearts popping out of her chest as she ascends the escalator. Uli gets a text from Efrain: he’s got some dirt on Ivan and will meet him in the morning to dish it.

Max lets Amaya know Mauro can meet with Caro and Amaya in the morning at 10. As she and Max walk away Jorge senses something is amiss with Caro. She’s still feeling dissed over their talk earlier. He has to repeat the theme: Let it Flow. [I can’t help thinking of Dear Madelaine: she would probably insert a hot link to the song by this same name by Toni Braxton.] A few seats away Max and Amaya talk lovey dovey in whispered tones, careful not to let a preoccupied Val hear. He wants nothing more than to make her happy and share his life with her, his “wife.” [Remember they’ve had a traditional wedding!] He steals a kiss!

Back at MM Mauro is tucking Lucio in and climbs right in with him. Lucio asks why he can’t go to live with his sister, Juliana. Well, this is his house. He asks if could he live with Juli or Tia Elo if they were his mom? Why sure! Don’t you like the parents you have? You, yes, mama, no. Mama es mala. Mauro tries to reason that just because we are angry with someone doesn’t mean their bad. Lucio ignores this and asks for a mom swap: he would like to trade Lu in and have Juli or Elo as his mom. (Anybody know what “Chinchales” means?) Another chance to ask a revealing question is lost in levity.

Amaya is wrapped in thought: she wishes she could remember more about the conversation her papa had with the woman who called to warn him that her mama, Florencia, was going to try to escape. In big Amaya’s thoughts we see little Amaya under the table those many years ago and hear David repeat the fateful line that he will stop Florencia if it’s the last thing he does! Oh, the memories are so vague and scattered it’s as if she imagined it all!

1-1-15 Pt. 3

The next morning Amaya and Caro are at Nescafe walking through the parking garage. Amaya is nervous and excited: she’s going to be working in the same building as her ex and her future husband! Be cool, you can handle it Caro tells her seriously but lightly. Inside Nescafe Whor and Emma discuss the same irony. Whor laments her presence and Emma fusses cattily. She demands to know if he still feels something for Amaya. He chides her for being jealous and she gets pissy and flounces out! As soon as she leaves Whor calls Negro. Whor wants to know when he’s going to get paid for their dirty dealing. He needs money like now!

Caro and Amaya are welcomed by Mauro and Max. He’s going to love the material they filmed in Chiapas! They just need to edit and tweak it. Wonderful! Their offices are ready. Caro thanks
Mauro for securing her a job with Nescafe. Well, they are the dynamic duo and HE stands to benefit! Amaya asks for a private conversation later with Mauro. He agrees. Mauro calls for Emma to come in to take them to sign their contracts.

We catch up with Connie who was recently walking the streets tortured by flashbacks of hot Max. She’s on the phone with Nora and confesses not only this but that when she was with Max she often thought of Salvador but now that she is with him she can’t stop thinking about Max! Salvador is about to enter the room and retreats just as he hears this endearing nugget!

Emma Albarran, Director of HR has arrived. She shakes Amaya’s hand, giving her a quick but intense once over and then greets Caro. They leave with her.

Quick little scene of Flavia bragging to her friend about Uli’s serenade and his treating her, once again, like a Queen. The friend, appropriately green, tells Flavia she’d better spend lots of time at the finca to beat off the competition!

Amaya and Caro review their contracts and marvel at their salaries. [I think it is significant that Emma suggested that if they questioned the figures they could verify with Don Mauro. It would be really dumb to skim off of their salary but Emma showed the contracts to Whor and well, know what I mean?] No, no, not necessary! They whisper that this is a lot of doe and sign. Emma asks to speak to Amaya privately. Emma and Amaya walk out into a secluded hallway.

Emma gets right to the point. She would like to talk to her about Whoracio Espinoza. Amaya says she really has nothing to talk to her about him. Emma is insistent that they talk but away from the office to avoid the wag factory (gossip). She gives Amaya her address and says they will meet at the dinner hour. Be there. Please. Emma walks away and Amaya looks perplexed. Emma goes to get Caro and leads them back to Mauro’s office. Caro notes the change in Amaya’s tone. Amaya will tell her later.

Lu calls Emma who is so pestered her voice trembles: Amaya is here, has signed her contract and you should see the hoopla they’re making over her! Lu confirms that the meeting at her apartment has been set. Emma gives her the time, she will call Lu after she and Amaya talk: she’ll need a drink! Emma thanks Lu for all her support and guidance in this matter. Lu hangs up and we enter her twisted mind and see the scenes when she stole Emma’s key to make a copy, when she stole Emma’s gun and her private moment yesterday with her mujeres asesinas outfit. The hour has arrived she says aloud!

We’ve never seen Cesar smile so much. He wants to know if Max was informed he is now Mauro’s partner. Yes, he knows and Max tells Cesar he is happy for him. Seriously, asks Cesar? Seriously, Max is happy for him and congratulates him. A beaming Emma enters the office followed by Caro and Amaya whom she introduces as the official Director and Assistant Director of Publicity for Nescafe! Smiles all around! Mauro applauds. Cesar greets Amaya with a too enthusiastic hug. Max and Amaya exchange a wtf smile and glance over his shoulder. Oh, it will be so good to see her each morning he grins!

1-1-15 Pt. 4

Let’s take a break from this sickening scene for another. Mariana tells Cip about Delores’ illness and need to have her kidney removed. His response? How? He can’t pay for it! Mariana tells him Amaya will pay for it. Well, that’s the least that ingrate can do after we took care of her all her life. He never expresses an iota of concern for Delores, even upon seeing her and just takes his sorry ass out of the house!

Amaya thanks Mauro for this opportunity. Max asks when she thinks the campaign will be ready. She thinks in about a month. Oh, this will coincide with the anniversary of the family business Cesar grins, grabbing a stunned and repulsed Caro, who pulls away. The campaign can be launched during the company anniversary bash. Mauro thinks it’s a great idea and Caro will work on organizing the event. Mauro and Amaya agree to meet in his office. Cesar (who very well might be a bit tipsy from the earlier toasting with his parents) invades Amaya’s personal space to ogle her amber locket. Yes, someone she cares about very much gave it to her for her protection. Mauro and Amaya leave. [It’s cute how Max looks at Cesar and as he blinks there is a tiny tinkle of a treble key on the piano.]

Sal sits replaying what he heard Connie say to Nora about having Max on the brain. Connie enters and is excited about a book signing she is going to arrange. She’s already met with the author. Sad sack Sal wants her to bag it and go away with him for a while. He wants to work on their relationship. Without whining Connie declines. She reminds him and asks that he please just let her adapt. That’s all she needs: time to adapt!

On the way to Mauro’s office he and Amaya run into Whor who nervously greets Amaya and welcomes her to Nescafe before scurrying away. Emma looks on in the back ground. Amaya notes to Mauro that he must have talked to Whor and she thanks Mauro for this. Mauro says to let him know if Whor messes with her in any way.

At the same time Lu meets with FD in the parking garage. He has rented a car for her. He gives her the keys and agrees to have the car back later in the afternoon. She reminds him that he’s got to see Lucio at Juli’s and meet with Mauro. He is not to forget that he’s got to shut Lucio’s mouth! They then mention when Lu had Lucio admitted to a psychiatric hospital. I didn’t quite catch it all.

Now seated in his office, Mauro empathizes and understands Amaya’s need to find her mother, dead or alive. He felt the same anguish. Regarding the explosion, it was determined there was a fuel leak but no one knows how or who set off the spark that ignited it. It was probably involuntary.

One more time with Caro. She can’t let it go with Jorge! She feels she pressured him yesterday and she shouldn’t have. Caro clarifies that they will take things a day at a time, without promises and without forcing anything. He agrees. [Methinks Caro just wanted the last word on the matter!]

1-1-15 Pt. 5

Amaya asks if Mauro is sure Lu did not know about his feelings for Florencia. Mauro maintains she didn’t know. He asks if she’s worried that Lu will reject her. Yes, she is and doubts that Lu does not know about him and her mom. Amaya believes her papa was in the plane to try to stop her mom from leaving. She tells him about her memory of a woman calling her papa to warn him. You think that woman could be Lucrecia Mauro asks with a chuckle of disbelief. Amaya is not sure but who could it be if not her. Mauro repeats his mantra of ignorance: Lu never knew anything about how he felt about Florencia, she only met Amaya’s papa a couple of times and she never knew he was going to help Florencia or that they felt anything for each other.

Ah, here’s the innocent Lucrazy in the parking garage letting air out of Emma’s tire!

Mauro continues: Rest assured, Lu never knew anything about what happened between your parents and she never intervened in your parent’s lives. He promises her that when she and Max make their relationship public he will talk to Lu, tell her all about his past feelings for Florencia and everything will be out in the open and resolved. They sit back down. Mauro has asked for a complete report on the investigation into her mother’s disappearance. When it comes back they will go over it and they will meet with the investigator to discuss it. She thanks him.

Emma discovers the flat tire and calls the garage attendant to help her.

Amaya tells Caro about the meeting with Emma. She gives them both bad vibes but Amaya is curious and wants to see what Emma wants. Amaya agrees that Caro will go with her and wait in the car til this little talk is over. It’s perfect as Vale’s teacher called to ask that Vale stay over to check her school work. They take off.

They pull up at Emma’s apartment. Amaya remembers the text from a woman she discovered on Whor’s phone months back [on the first day of the novella]. Amaya thinks Emma may be Whor’s lover who sent that text! Cut to Lu who has donned her ungay apparel and is lying in wait, weapon in hand. Amaya gets out and goes into the building. Here is where some real street smarts could’ve come in handy: Amaya approaches the apartment, number 201, finds the door ajar and goes in any way! Amaya enters calling “Emma, Emma” looking steadily to her left. She finally looks to her right. Lu aims, fires, and Amaya goes down. Lu shot Amaya!!!!!

Freeze frame on Amaya's face as she lies gunned down in Emma's apartment!

Thanks again for another excellent recap, Lila! ITA that Manuel is a big old coward! How in the world did Geno stay with this loser for so long in secret? I cannot wait to see the wrath of BOTH his children when they find out the truth. If it weren't for the fact that he's planning to hurt Mauro and the company, I'd be happy that Cesar ripped those shares out to Manuel's cowardly hands.

Ulises really is a master manipulator. Poor Flavia has no natural defenses against someone like him.

I'll watch today's episode tomorrow.

Thanks Vivi! Phew! What a day! I did this and La Gata. No complaint, I now you and many of our friends do this kind of thing all the time. I don't mind cause I love this show. I'll check in tomorrow and hope our other friends do as well. Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow!

Just watching my recording from yesterday now. Mauro and Lucio are adorable together. Loved the scene of them snuggled up in bed together. I still wish that Mauro would really listen to what Lucio is saying about Lucrazy.

My recap of today's episode will be up sometime between today or tomorrow. Sorry I can't be more precise. :)

Lila- I think you've really did a great job describing the dynamic between Caro and Jorge during those conversations. I agree with Jorge and Amaya that they are just beginning their relationship and should just let things flow. But it seems that the writers are signaling that Caro and Jorge aren't end game.

Hi Vivi! Wasn't that a precious scene with Mauro and Lucio? Even though Mauro isn't pressing now, I think he's going to remember these little conversations. I guess we just have to wait.

I haven't watched today's episode. Nobody mention anything of what happened! I want to be surprised!

Vivi, don't worry, Saturday is fine.

Thank you and I agree about Caro and Jorge. The vibe between Juli and Jorge was too strong even when she was grieving. I think Juli is that special someone he has talked to Max about. I like Caro so it would be great if she and Jorge could match up, but oh well. If they bring Ismael back I just hope he's worthy!

Hola, Lila,

Thanks once again for being a Tried and True Trooper and filling me in on everything I need to know as I skimmed this novela trying to catch up.

Uli is vile. Not only was his false serenading of Flavia the lowest of the low, but he committed an act of sacrilege in violating one of Mexico's finest romantic traditions.

As I said earler, I think Flavia will end up with José. They both will endure their own personal struggles before that time.

Re - Jorge y Caro, I think they too will end up together, but I agree with Jorge that it is too soon to be talking about being married and having children.

Loved Don Mauro with his bow tie.

Wishing you a Happy New year that will see many of your goals realized.

Hola Floridia!

Gracias, amiga, for being one of the faithful who make our efforts worthwhile! I hope your holiday has been wonderful as well!

If you think Uli is vile now, just wait until you see what he does in Friday's episode! He can't touch Cesar though or LuCrazy!

So you think Jorge and Caro will end up together? We'll see. You know, I like it that whether he ends up with Juli or Caro it'll be fine. They are both fine women. We know Juliana is not looking for anyone, still appropriately grieving Franco. I just bet the innocent and platonic support Jorge is going to offer her (and which he is so good at) will turn into mutual love.

It's going to be fun seeing how it pans out!

Quiero Amarte, Friday 1/2/15

Part 1:
Lucrazy, dressed in runway-worthy assassin wear, has just shot Amaya in Emma’s apartment. Amaya lies unconscious in a pool of her blood from the chest wound, while Lucrazy gets busy putting the gun back in its carrying case and tucking it back into Emma’s dresser drawer.

Meanwhile, downstairs Caro texts Amaya that she just saw Emma drive in, and thought she was already upstairs since Amaya has been up there for a while. Caro then gets distracted texting Jorge about meeting for dinner that night. While Emma waits for the elevator, and contemplates taking the stairs, Lu sneaks out of the apartment and down the stairs. Emma arrives at her door to find it open, then is further shocked to find a passed out/blood soaked Amaya on her floor, and blood platter on her wall. She screams, horrified, calls to Amaya, and checks to see if she is alive, taking her hand in concern and getting blood on her own hands in the process. A concerned neighbor comes running. He heard a sound a bit earlier, and now realizes it was a gunshot. He calls 911, while Emma freaks out. Downstairs, Caro looks up from her Jorge text long enough to see the below the neck departure of the lady in black, but pays no great attention. A very pleased Lucrazy drives off in the non-descript burgundy car her Fake Doctor goon provided.

Cesar comes to bug Max in his office about Amaya, pointing out that she is a very good looking woman and that her husband accused her of adultery. Max says he should ask Whor who was unfaithful to whom. While trying to make Max angry, Cesar tells him not to get angry, and comments on what a great acquisition Amaya was, like she’s a piece of real estate. Cesar plays with Max’s Newton’s cradle, while saying it was thanks to Amaya that Connie dumped Max, and he (Cesar) was able to get Manuel’s shares. Both the comment and the gesture annoy Max, so Cesar continues on with both.

Efrain reports to Ulises on the only dirt he found on Ivan—his mom was unfaithful and left his dad when he was a kid. Uli says this isn’t dirt on Ivan, and makes him look like a victim. He knows Ivan went to university outside of the area. There must be an old college girlfriend—one who can invent a pregnancy or an abandoned child. Something that Mariana wouldn’t forgive. Efrain notices how infatuated Uli is with Mariana. Uli says it’s just that he’s not used to not getting what he desires.

Ivan tells Hector that he’s planning on asking Mariana to marry him before the year is up. Hector thinks this is a mistake and that Ivan and Mariana are too young, and doesn’t want him to make the same mistake he did. Ivan doesn’t think age has anything to do with it—young or old, a relationship can fail. Ivan thanks Hector for being both mother and father to him, but doesn’t believe what happened to Hector has to happen to him. He tells Hector to start preparing his speech to Mariana’s parents for when he asks for her hand. Hector looks like he has Excedrin Headache #45.

Mauro hangs out in his office and wonders who could have informed David about Flor’s escape, and could it have been David himself who sabotaged the plane.

Part 2:
Cesar brings the red depression mobile to Juliana, spraying it down with mercury before ringing the doorbell. Juil loves it, and gives Cesar a genuine hug of appreciation, before she, Alan, and Lucio run out to get inside and drink in that new car mercury smell. Ahhh! Smells like clinical depression!

Cesar takes the opportunity to intimidate Lucio, telling him they are better off without him in the house. Then he spreads the joy to Eloisa. He never imagined she was an ex-con! How horrible! Then he scolds her for doubting Lu. Anyone who is against his mom, he’s against. He won’t let Elo hurt her. She’s the one who brought Elo into the family—without Lu, Elo would have nothing.

Mariana calls Ivan from the hospital. Dolores’ tests are taking a long time, and she doesn’t think she’ll be able to make it back and to work in time. Ivan says it’s fine if she can’t come in, and offers his help for whatever she might need—very different from the response she got from Cip. Mariana thanks him and they exchange te amos. Meanwhile, Dolores is in the middle of her ultrasound and prays to the Virgin that she will get well and won’t need surgery. She has too much left to do in this life.

Still in her car downstairs, Caro gets concerned and calls Amaya, begging her to call, when she sees the ambulance drive up to the building. Once upstairs, the paramedics get to work on Amaya and confirm that she was shot. They tell Emma that the police are on the way. Emma freaks out even more, and her neighbor says he will stay in her apartment and speak to the police, while she rides in the ambulance with Amaya. He goes to inform his family, and she says she is going to change. Instead, knowing she’s Suspect #1, she changes AND packs a suitcase, some cash, and her passport. She also bags up her bloody uniform, and trashes it in a can in her garage before taking off on foot.

Max and Mauro speak about the Elo-Lu situation. Mauro misses Elo, but they both agree that they can’t pick sides between the two.

Caro sees Amaya being taken out on the stretcher and shakily finds out the basics from the paramedics. She follows the ambulance in her car. Inside the ambulance, Amaya’s vitals are weak. Caro calls Max while she’s driving, as he’s leaving for lunch with Mauro. She tells him Amaya’s been shot! Max wants to know how this happened, and is confused to learn Emma had Amaya meet her in her apartment.

Juli invites Cesar to have lunch with them, but he turns her down. Just then, Jorge arrives with suitcase in hand, and Cesar is shocked to learn that Jorge will be living with Juli. Lucio says he also wants to live there, like Elo and Jorge, but his mama won’t let him. Elo loans Cesar her keys so that he can get through the garden gate that separates Juli’s house from the big house. (I include this just in case Cesar makes copies of Juli’s keys for his nefarious plans.) Jorge gives everyone an update on the filming in Chiapas and tells Juli that Max plans to drop by for lunch. Lucio takes charge of unpacking Jorge’s suitcase, and Juli tells Jorge how happy she is to have him there. There is a really comfortable, familiar vibe between them.

Max freaks out over the news about Amaya. He needs to know what happened, see Amaya, and pick up Val from school. Mauro tries to calm him down.

Part 3:
Elo, Juli, and Jorge lay the table for lunch and discuss Max. Juli wants to invite him to live with them too, out of concern for how lonely and sad he must be feeling right now. Jorge tells them they don’t have to worry about Max. He makes the Cesar salad dressing, from the recipe Franco taught him, and tears of nostalgia come to Juli’s eyes. Max calls Jorge with the news about Amaya, and asks Jorge to pick Val up from school. Jorge agrees to do it, and to bring Val back to Juli’s place.

Across the way, Cesar and Flavia are the only ones who managed to make it to family lunch. He pokes fun at her romance with the little rancher, and says he’s going to have Uli investigated. He says Uli is just interested in money and Mauro’s position. Flavia shoots back that she can interest any man, with or without money. Cesar laughs at her sarcastically. Flavia says she isn’t surprised he thinks this way, since he’s a carbon copy of their mother. Flavia points out that she has had quite a few galans, while he has had not one girlfriend. But of course, no one would want to go out with such a disagreeable and arrogant guy like him—not for his money, his power, nor for his “pretty” face.

Uli asks Efrain what more he knows about Cip. Effer says Cip is capable of selling his own mother. Uli then asks for further updates on Ivan. Apparently, he had a girlfriend in the first years of college, but she dropped out and they never saw each other again. Uli thinks this is very interesting indeed. He wants Effer to find her. Uli then reads a love text from Flavia, and scoffs at it.

Now it’s time for Mauro to blow his top. He’s on the phone with the office and no one can locate Emma. Max tells him to calm down and remember his heart. They wonder what Emma could have possibly wanted with Amaya. Then Max takes back the anger stick, and says he will make the shooter pay!

Lu returns home and enjoys a post-murder martini, as she flashes back to the first time she tried to kill Amaya and Flor on the day of the Great Accidents. “Today, my vengeance is complete.”

Dolores finally emerges and is greeted by a worried Mariana. She admits to some pain and discomfort, which surely means that she’s in a lot of pain. They will send the results of her tests to her doctor. She worries about keeping Mariana from work all day. Mariana says she already called in, and Ivan understands that Dolores is her number one priority—that she’s well, healthy, and tranquil. Dolores thanks her, and says she wants to call Amaya as soon as they get home. For some reason she hasn’t been able to get Amaya out of her head. (The call of the blood also works with adopted children.) Mariana tells her she should only be thinking of herself.

Cesar interrupts Lucrazy’s moment of ecstasy. She lies that she was out and about all day and her cell phone battery died. Cesar wonders why she didn’t take a driver, and she reminds him how much she enjoys driving herself sometimes. Cesar then asks her to explain what’s going on with her and Lucio and why he’s so scared of her. Lu glosses over the whole truth and tells Cesar that Lucio once saw Omar come to blackmail her, and he must have intuited that she was doing something against Mauro. Lu says she has it under control. Cesar decides HE will take charge of intimidating Lucio into not opening his mouth.

Part 4:
Ulises meets with Cip and flashes a huge wad of cash in his face. Cip’s mission—to hire a bunch of lowlifes to lead a raid on El Paraiso’s coffee bodegas. Cip doesn’t understand why Uli first is buying up coffee at an inflated price, and now wants to steal El Paraiso’s coffee. The threat of all that money in the envelope not being his, is enough to shut Cip up. He takes the money and agrees to the job. Uli instructs him which bodegas to steal the coffee from first (remember that detailed tour Flavia gave him), in order for the discovery of the theft to come too late for anyone at Paraiso to do anything about it.

Dolores and Mariana share a lovely mother-daughter moment. Dolores remembers how when she surprisingly became pregnant after so many years, she thought she was sick. She thought she would only get to experience the joys of motherhood through caring for Amaya, but the Virgin granted her the miracle of Mariana. Cip, of course, wanted a boy, but she wanted a girl. She became the happiest woman in the world. Mariana says Dolores is the best mama in the world. They hug and kiss.

Ivan and Hector walk through the coffee processing plant and marvel over how great the harvest is and how they will have plenty of coffee to meet the needs of both Nescafe and Max’s gourmet coffee product. Uh oh!

While on the run, Emma calls Lucrazy and leaves a message about the shooting, her fear of being accused, and how she’s leaving the country. Lu ignores the call, listens to the message, and then makes an anonymous call to the cops.

Jorge and Juli head to the school to pick up Val. He will distract Val, while Juli speaks to the teacher and gets Caro on the phone with the teacher to get permission to take Val. Jorge tells Val that Amaya, Caro, and Max are in a work meeting and that Amaya said it was ok for her to come with them. Juli introduces herself as Max’s and Lucio’s sister, and Alan’s mother to Val. Val’s excited to go have lunch with them all.

Max and Mauro finally arrive at the hospital. Caro tells them how everything went down, and Amaya’s suspicions about Emma being Whor’s lover. Max and Mauro are shocked. Mauro tries again to reach Emma. Caro wonders why she’s hiding if she didn’t shoot Amaya. Caro suggests they call Whor, but Max refuses. If Emma is his lover, then HE’S the reason Amaya is in this state! Mauro reminds him that Whor is the father of Amaya’s child and has the right to decide what happens with his daughter. He is also the best person to know why Emma wanted to see Amaya. Max concedes.

At the airport, Emma tries to purchase a ticket for Miami, or anywhere in the States. The only thing leaving soon is a flight to San Francisco. Emma nervously agrees to it. The airline attendant eyes her suspiciously, but plays it cool and takes Emma’s passport to a supervisor. Emma nervously tries to cover the blood on her wrist. The attendant comes back and says there’s been an opening on the Miami flight. Emma’s excitement doesn’t last for long, as airport security comes up to her and says she’s being detained under the suspicion of the attempted murder of Amaya.

All done!

Lila- Uli is indeed vile, and I'm afraid he's going to succeed at crippling Nescafe and Max's business.

Oooooh! Thanks, Vivi! Let me get right to reading this!

Poor Max and Amaya! I'm glad they got a lot of good lovin' in because hard times are here!

Emma is really an idiot. Talk about working hard to make yourself look guilty!

I'm disappointed in Emma. i thought she was smarter than this! Running just makes her look guilty, especially since she had the neighbor there as a possible witness in her favor. bad move, Emma.

Thanks for the info on the depression spray. I couldn't figure out why Cesar was being nice. True to form, he wasn't.

All the best to everyone in the new year!

Kelly

Thank you, Kelly. And, you're welcome. Yeah, Emma made this too easy for Lu.

Thank you Vivi! Excellent! Most excellent indeed!

"Ahhh! Smells like clinical depression!

Cesar was particularly despicable in this episode! He's taunting and scolding Tia and Lucio, and he's not done with Lucio yet! And his annoying Max was annoying me as well! uuuf! What a jerk! And I, too, noticed his use of Elo's keys. I would be shocked if he didn't make a copy! His downfall is going to be so su-weet!

Jorge moving in to Juli's was quite a surprise! Not sure why he's doing so: did they mention something today I didn't notice? Glad to see Cesar was surprised. He was so counting on Juli to be isolated and vulnerable, just her, Tia and two boys. Thank goodness Jorge is with her! Yes, there IS a comfortable, familiar vibe between them! (Yaaaay!)

Now. The shooting. Emma's credibility looks really bad right now but she's got lots of good information on her conversations with Lu and her support in this little tête-à-tête. I hope there is a crack investigator -- maybe Mauro's current investigator -- who can put the clues together! I hope that crook that Lu paid off to come up empty handed is retired or something!

I'm also glad Amaya shared her suspicions about Emma being Whor's lover and the other details about Emma's request to see her.

It is indeed a puzzle and it's going to be exciting seeing it put together. One thing I DON'T expect is an idiotic fake nurse trying to smother the patient schtick. Well. I'm getting ahead of myself. Great episode! Watching it on Saturday helps Monday get here that much more quickly!

Thanks, Lila! They said Jorge will live with Juli when he's in D.F. It seemed implied that he would not be in the city full time/often.

Oh, ok Vivi! Thanks! I'm so glad he's there! Cesar neither fools nor intimidates him!

Vivi,

Terrific recap and tremendously detailed. Sincere thanks to a real PRO! So glad that you joined this novela -- just because you are you -- and also because you can lend assistance with recaps when needed.

Vile Uli continues on his ignoble quest for power and greed not caring who will get hurt in his wake.

Slimy Cesar delivered the shiny red car laced with poison. It was most upsetting to see the children
in the car enjoying its newness.
How will this affect them?

Tough times ahead for many - a long way to resolution.

Can you give me the date of the
rooftop scene with Armando Manzanero? I want to save it and delete other episodes I recorded.

Many thanks again, Vivi. Best of fortune to all in New Year.

runway-worthy assassin wear,

Vivi,

Thoroughly enjoyed this description of Lucretia,

"....dressed in runway-worthy assassin wear..."

Thanks so much, Floridia. I too got really worried when I saw Alan and Lucio playing in the car. Surely Alan at least will be in that car quite a lot. I cannot believe that Cesar is so callously exposing children to poison.

I'm going to assume that although Cesar wants to take over power at Nescafe, he doesn't want to see it go under. I could be totally wrong about that though. Anyway, my hope is that Cesar WILL find out something about Uli's past (sorry, Flavia) and realize he's behind the current funny biz with the coffee, and that he uses his evil little brain to take Uli down. Of course, they'll probably just unite forces, but I can dream.

Good morning, Vivi and Floridia!

Floridia, the day of the rooftop serenade (and hot lovemaking) is 12-19-14! I'm saving it too: just got to figure out a way to copy it off my DVR. I'm sure there's a hack somewhere!

Vivi, good point about Cesar just wanting to take over Nescafe, not destroy it. For that reason I'm hoping he will NOT join forces with Uli! Yikes! I could see him discovering Uli's skulduggery and letting it go on because he would love to see Max's gourmet coffee project fail and be totally "innocent" of sabotaging it himself. Cesar, Lu and Uli: quite a witches brew, no?

But on the good guys side we've got Jorge, Juli, Caro, Ivan and Mariana! Max and Mauro will be in the center of the storm investigating Amaya's shooting and slowly becoming disabused of illusions about Lu's innocence in past and current disasters.

It's going to be good!

Hola everybody. Happy Twenty Fifteen. It's going to be a good one for the QA community.

Just a short visit. Trying to keep up through the recap and the comments for the last week. You all have been great.

Still very busy with family.

It snowed. It's due to snow again the day I'm supposed to leave, so I need to retract my promise to recap next Thursday. If no one has dibs on Friday, I can do it.

Vivi--I read your last comment about Alan. Actually, Cesar would like him dead or disabled because he represents Juliana's sole heir...to HALF of El Paraiso. The other half has to be distributed 4 ways, Cesar, Max and the Twins. Cesar--S.O.the Bith in Residence, Lucrecia.

Uli is slime. If he watched Destino, he will find that college girlfriend of Ivan's and pay her to get a reasonable-aged kid to play sonny to Ivan's daddy.

I feel sorry for Emma because she is a victim of TN Trope. If you aren't guilty of a crime, do something that makes you look guilty as sin.

Loved Vivi's description of Runway-worthy assassin wear, too.

I'll put up a new front page header tomorrow morning.

Anita,

Welcome back part time.
I discussed the snow in Boston area with a friend who lives there.
She's in Cohasset where it turned to rain.

One thing about Emma in her favor is that she seemed genuinely concerned about Amaya upon discovery ---- in spite of the fact that she was jealous of her,
or whatever.. One day she will see the light.

Thanks, Lila. If you find out how to save the recording, please advise. I simply leave it in place and delete other programs around it. I still have the final from Destilando Amor and the smoldering love scene from Sortilegio...and two episodes from Donde Está Elise.

All the best,

Cool Floridia! I'm just afraid I will mess up and delete it accidentally, but I'll let you know if I come up with something!

Welcome back, Anita! Is it too early to ask what the recapping plan is for this week. I am happy to take more than one day, even tomorrow if that will help. Thursday is La Gata day and I can do that if need be, but prefer not to.

Let me know!

Anita- Good to see you! That's pretty monstrous that Cesar wants Alan dead. I guess I was in denial about just how evil he is. I guess he really is a carbon copy of Lu, like Flavia said.

These are the last two weeks of La Malquerida, and we believe they will be combining two episodes each night to get us to the end by the 16th. If they do, I intend to watch and recap the two full episodes on my recapping nights. That means I really can't help out here the next two weeks, but I'm happy to help when needed after that.

Thanks, Vivi! Oooo! Que Horor! I remember some shows do that!

Ready to close out this week. See you on the new page (as soon as I come up with some observations).
