Amores con Trampa #21 & #22 4/27/15-4/28/15
Today was a really trying day at work, but tonight's episode made me forget all my woes. Ernesto Laguardia just gets better and better!
Straight to the new!
María spent the night worrying. Facundo never made it home. They've fought before, but he didn't stay away all night. Abuela tells Maria to wait until he gets home and they can talk things over. Women know how to turn their husbands around. Maria laments that Facundo even turned off his phone. Her finger is swollen from calling him all night! Abuelo comes in and tells them to change up breakfast...except for the boiled eggs. Carmen and Beto also arrive and Carmen asks about her father. Beto is a chip off the old block and blames his mother (that's María) for Facundo's absence. Jacinto and Susana are the BEST!! Jacinto doesn't give a rip if Beto is bigger--he tells his big brother not to talk to his mother that way. Susana gets in there too...fists ready for action. Go girl! Beto repeats that if Facundo spent the night elsewhere, it's María's fault.
At the hotel Isa prays that God forgive her for what she's about to do. It's the only way for the family to avoid ruin. She snuggles up to a naked Facundo. He wakes up with a start. They both start freaking out. Poor Facundo tries to make sense of things "What happened? Did it happen? Did it not happen? Ay Dios mío! I don't remember!" Isa does "remember". EVERYTHING happened! She starts to apologize as Facundo begins to worry about María finding out. In comes Santiago!
Abuela steps in to defend Maria too. Beto should not talk to his mother that way! But Maria is a big girl. She tells Beto to go ahead and say what he has to say. Beto reminds her that she won't let him be with Rocio, but at least he was honest about it. If Maria had played straight with Facundo to begin with, none of this would be happening. Maria thinks Beto is crazy if he thinks she is going to let him be with Rocio. Abuela tell Beto to shut it and Porfirio offers to hold Beto while the Maria delivers some trancazos(blows with a stick.) Maria asks the grandparents not to interfere. Abuela protests that Maria can't let Beto talk to her like that. I think she says something to the effect of "since when did the kids start running the show? (los patos le tiran a las carabinas...a variation of los pájaros le tiran a las escopetas. The grammar is explained here.) Maria agrees. Beto never used talk to her like this. She blames Rocio La Cabra Loca. She's a bad influence. Beto leaves to look for his dad.

This scene was like a parody of a telenovela and there is no way I can do it (or any of Ernesto's scenes tonight) justice. It's hilarious! ERNESTO I LOVE YOU! Santiago makes quite a fuss. Isa, you never came home! As your husband I was obviously worried! I checked the GPS on your car, but I never expected to find this! Gloom! Despair! Agony on me! Santi will never forgive her! Facundo and Isa try to explain. Facundo swears that what he thinks is happening didn't happen! Santi continues to howl. How long have you been deceiving me?? Facundo continues to beg and explain. Santi tells him to shut up and punches him! But Santi isn't done! These two deserve death! He reaches behind him. Facundo and Isa beg him to calm down. He pulls out...

Carmen leaves and Francis calls someone and says she did her part, the rest is up to them. It's Diego. He's at the read when Carmen ends up stranded on the street. He asks if she needs any help.
Santi pulls up at Facundo's house. Facundo pulls up right behind him. Facundo follows Santi almost to the front door. He's begging the whole way. "Please neighbor! Listen to me! You aren't going to show those photos to Maria." Santi most certainly is! Facundo is the scoundrel! How dare he go to bed with Isa and then not expect to lose anything! Well, Santi has the cell phone and proof! Facund confesses he doesn't remember a thing. Santi saw everything and Facundo is not going to get out of this! Facundo will pay! This must have been subliminal messaging because suddenly Facundo asks "What to you want? Money?" Santi plays the indignant cuckold for a nano-second and comes up with a proposal. Sign as my business partner and Maria will never know a thing. Facundo gets angry, but Maria suddenly steps outside and Facundo is forced to accept the deal. Maria is less than pleased.
Estefy and Esteban collude on their cellphones. She's a little worried because breaking up Santi and Is is turning out to be a little harder than she expected. Esteban needs some time to think but they MUST break up that relationship.
Maria can't believe Fac is going to be partners with Santi. It's got to be a joke! Santi insists it's no joke and it's something to celebrate. Fac firmly insists that Santi leaves him alone to talk to Maria. Santi tells Fac that he'll call Esteban to get started on the paperwork. Santi leaves. Maria reminds Fac that Santi wanted to take his money. Fac says they should talk inside.
Once inside, Maria assumes that Fac is doing this to punish her for the fashion show. Fac swears that's not it. Maria swears she'll never lie again, but asks him not to sign the papers. Their money is all they have for the children.
Fac tells Maria that he loves her, but he thinks being Santi's socio is a good idea. Maria reminds him that Santi just wants the money. Santi is taking advantage of Fac. Fac reminds her that he is smart and quick-witted. No one is going to play him for a fool. He needs something to do, too! He can't just sit around the house all day! Maria is still suspicious. What happened to make Fac change his mind so much. Why does he suddenĺy want to go into business with that scoundrel (malandrín)? Fac says he trusts Maria and trusts that she'll never lie to him again. Now she has to trust that he's making the right decision for the family.
Santi surprises Isa. He's thrilled with their victory! It's official. Fac is going to sign with him. He wants to celebrate with a little nookie. Isa refuses and runs to the bathroom.
Diego drops off Carmen. Beto plays the overprotective big brother. He resembles Fac a little too much as he orders his sister to go into the house. Beto wants to know why Diego intends with his sister. Diego says a man can't be alone and since Beto took Rocio away from him, he's looking at Carmen. Beto tells him to stay away from his sister and Diego says he can look at whoever he wants.
Poor Santi is still trying to get a little of Isa's lovin'. She is still playing the part of cold fish. She asks about the photos and tells him to guard them like gold. They are their only back-up. And since she doesn't trust him, she wants him to send them to her in an email...right now! She still refuses Santi's affections. He wants to know why she wants the pictures so much. Does she want to relieve them moment? Santi reminds her it was all just a ruse. She wants them not just to make Fac a business partner, but to get rid of the Carmona's forever.
Carmen tells Beto not to be so jealous and they start fighting about Diego. Once again, Beto pulls the macho garbage. If he tells his sister to stay away from Diego...then she will stay away from Diego! Fac and Maria interrupt and Carmen turns on the "daddy's little girl." She asks him to forgive her. She didn't want to go to the fashion show, but she didn't want her mother to be alone. Fac tells her it's forgotten and that she looked nice. Maria asks Beto to get his other siblings. They have an announcement.
Santi and Esteban celebrate. Esteban can't believe how quickly Santi got the deal done, but asks if Isa had anything to do with it. Santi wonders what that matters to Esteban. They important thing is that it's done a deal. Now they need to arrange a big celebration. Esteban suggests they not spend the money on such an unnecessary thing. Santi tells Esteban to enjoy! They signing needs to be soon! Fac could change his mind.
Fac tells the family about the new deal. The family is not happy. Carmen suggests they invest a little at a time. Jacinto thinks it's a good idea. Facundo bangs the table. He pretty much yells the rest of the time. Blergh. He's just telling them. He's not asking permission.
At the Velasco house they are also enjoying a celebratory dinner! They are out of financial danger and everyone will recieve their allowances again. Isa tells Feli to quit the pizza delivery. He's shocked. Conchita asks if she will also get her back pay. Rocio is suspicious. She thinks Santi and Isa trapped Fac somehow.
Esteban visits Estefy. He's got an idea to break up Isa and Santi AND to make him turn over all of Fac's money. Esteban tells Estefy to get ready, she's going to have a big job to do. We are not privy to this plan...yet.
Maria is very worried about this latest development. She and her mother worry that Santi will take all their money. They know something is wrong. Maria has always had a 6th sense. She doesn't want Fac to sign. She's sure something is going to happen.
Fac goes to see Isa. She's sorry Santi is taking advantage of the situation to take advantage of Facundo. He would never done anything like this to his Maria. He still doesn't remember anything. Isa tells him it happened and it was a mutual thing. She promises she won't tell Maria. Fac asks her to please talk to Santi and ask him not to tell Maria either. Isa thought FAc was a different man. A gentleman. But he's just like everyone else. Sleeping with a woman and then acting like it didn't happen. He grabs her and she tells him not to touch her. She's not Maria.
Rocio was listening and she confronts Isa. Did Isa sleep with the neighbor? Rocio thinks something weird is going on and that maybe they tricked Fac into signing. She and Isa fight. Rocio had noticed Isa on the computer when she came in and she continues to eye-ball the computer. Rocio swears to find out what is really happening.
Fac shows up at the Velasco offices and it's clear Santi doesn't want him there. He tries to convince Fac how boring things are. Fac is not convinced. Get used to his face in the offices (loose translation.)
Rocio discovers the pictures on the computer. She's interrupted by Conchita. Beto has come to see her.
Beto wanted to see her. He notices she's upset and asks her what's wrong. She does't tell him. She just cries. Beto thinks it's because Diego is chasing after Carmen. That's news to Rocio. She tells Beto she's fine. She just needs some rest. Beto leaves.
Santi takes advantage of Fac's presence to tell him that the signing will be tomorrow. Fac has nothing to celebrate with a swindler. Now I really hope someone can help. I think Santi said that when Fac loaned the 50 million pesosn, Santi handed over papers giving 40 percent of the shares to Fac. Right? Now they have to sign in front of a notary. Fac asks Santi if it doesn't bother him what happened between him(Fac) and his wife? Santi says it does, but he's keeping it inside. Fac takes full responsibility. Santi says he's a forgiving man, Maria is a different story. Not everyone can forgive an infidelity. Santi vaguely threatens to tell Maria. Fac grabs Santi and tells him that they're signing papers...but Fac isn't happy about it. Fac tells Santi to watch it. He tells Santi not to mess with him. Santi tells Fac he will thank him for making him a partner.

Sara- Love what you have up so far. Ernesto/Santi was a trip this episode. So funny.
I was not expecting anyone to stumble on their scheme so soon. I guess there is one benefit to Rocio not having a job or school-- she's around to hear and see what Isa and Santi are up to!

I also agree that Santiago's reaction to catching Isabel and Facundo together was priceless. It also was a hoot that Facundo's first reaction was to pray. Lots of good laughs.
I did not like Beto playing a mini Facundo either. I hope that he gets put in his place but good somewhere along the line.
Granny Perpétua was her usual perceptive self saying that Santiago had "estafador" (swindler) written across his forehead. If only Facundo could have been that perceptive.

Note-taking you can get to the pictures submitted for the #mascotasamorosas, I highly recommend it. Such cute pets!
Sara- Thank you for putting so much time into the recap. It was well worth it.
I loved Fac showing Santi that even though he is being blackmailed, he will not put up with bullying.
But I kind of don't feel bad for Fac. This is what he gets for his macho, hypocritical ways with Maria. I don't want him to lose the money though, so I'd prefer he invest, and then stay on Santi like white on rice to make sure he doesn't squander the money.

Ditto, Vivi. Fac is in a bed of his own making, but I don't think his family should suffer for it. I hope we get to see a little of the "bien avispado" side of Fac that everyone keeps talking about.

They definitely have a problem with respect for their mother. María seems to have to fight to retain her respect due from them. She should be on the same level of respect as Facundo. Carmen sure is a "daddy's girl" as already noted.
I also liked that Felipe didn't seem like he wanted to quit his pizza delivery job. If only Francis would disappear, I could see Carmen and Felipe being good for each other.

Yeah, right, indeed. In fact, Maria WAS up front about it from the very beginning. It was Facundo who then pressured and guilt-ed her to drop out. And frankly, that was an awful thing to do. Tuesday Episode #22
Maria and Beto fight about Rocio again. He doesn't understand how Susana can be friends with Alejandra, Carmen can be friends with Felipe and his father can even be business associates with Santiago but he can't be friends with Rocio.
Carmen got rave reviews for her participation in the fashion show. Susana tries to put a hoodie on Margarito. It's not important but...MARGARITO. Anywaaay... all the pictures are of Carmen, a fact that drives Francis up the wall.
Francis does a lot of whining about Carmen and Felipe tells her to let it go. He obsession with Carmen is becoming unhealthy. Francis does some more whining, but realizes she's gone overboard again so she starts cooing and asking Feli to forgive her.
Isa goes to see Maria. The shawls sold out and the show was a success. She'll bring her a check tomorrow. Maria takes the opportunity to talk to Isa about her misgivings about Fac becoming Santiago's associate.
As Isa leaves, Perpetua confronts her. Abuela thinks Isa had something to do with Fac finding out about the fashion show. Isa denies having anything to do with that.
Isa returns home to a tired Santiago. She explains she was with Maria. She says some disparaging words about Maria. Santi sees right through it. He says Isa is jealous of Maria. Rocio interrupts this scene to accuse them of having trapped Fac into signing somehow. And it looks to me like Santi was trying to throw Isa under the base and lay all the blame on her.
Esteban reveals his plan to Estefy. She needs to get pregnant by Santi. She isn't sure about it (she's still young, you know) but Esteban convinces her it's the only way to break up Santi and Isa AND get all the money. Estefy doesn't need to worry about having a baby. Santi will probably hire a nanny.
Fac and Maria talk about tomorrow's signing. She asks Fac to talk to Beto. He's been very disrespectful to her.
Jacinto feeds his bunnies. It's not important, but BUNNIES! Beto finds one of Jacinto's math tests. He got a perfect 10 on it. Jacinto acts ashamed of it and explains to Beto that ever since everyone found out Jacinto was super smart, they seem to ignore him. A fact that is proven when Fac enters and asks Jacinto to leave. Fac yells at Beto for being disrespectful to Maria.
Santi serves a fine Chilean wine to toast the new business and the end of the Velasco's economic woes. Rocio ruins the meal by throwing her plate on the floor and fleeing to her room. Her parents make her sick. Feli goes to comfort Rocio. Isa stops Alejandra from doing the same.
He tells Rocio he saw Fac and Isa holding hands in a cafe. Then he tells her that Isa and Santi had cooked up a plan to seduce Fac. Rocio tells Feli that Facundo is going to sign the papers and be business partners with Santiago.
Isa takes Maria to a spa and shopping for a new dress.
At the university, Feli sees Diego and Carmen talking. Why in the world does Francis think her plan is working? Feli looks pretty jealous to me.
Esteban talks to Santi about Estefany. He wants to know if Santi is going to keep seeing Estefany on the side. Santi says he is...but his enthusiasm for Estefy seems a little forced.
Feli goes to see Carmen and tells her to be careful with Diego.
Maria begs Fac one last time not to sign the papers. The rooster agrees. Fac leaves and Maria prays to Juditas Tadeo. The Rooster makes his petition as well.
Estefany tells Esteban that Santi is not returning her calls or responding to super erotic messages she's sending. Esteban tells her about the signing. She looks like she is going to attend!
Rocio overhears Isa telling Santi that once the papers are signed she can stop pretending to like the Carmonas and treat them like the dirt that they are.
Rocio runs over to the Carmonas and begs Facundo not to sign the papers. From the sound of his squealing, Margarito doesn't like the idea either. Maria asks Rocio why she doesn't want Fac to sign.
Fin.

Yes, all the animals were adorable last night, even the rooster who looked very comfortable adding his voice to that scene with Fac and Maria. Kudos to the actors for being able to keep character and keep going with that going on.
Santi was definitely throwing Isa under the bus. He hates being the villain in the kids' eyes. He's happy to let Isa take the full blame. But since Rocio actually saw that the mailed pics came from him, she wasn't buying it.

Is it just me or is it harder to recap a comedy? Not that I find recapping a typical melodrama a breeze... But so much seems to go on in a comedy. Not just what they are saying, but their actions and expressions too.
Yes. They are harder to recap if you're trying to convey the humorous stuff while also explaining the actual plot movement. It's like trying to explain a joke. But it can also be a lot of fun. I remember having great fun recapping Hasta Que el Dinero..., and reading my teammates' recaps. Makes me want to go back and read them. That was also a Larosa tn.

great recap for tue night! loved the animals, esp the rooster. i remember one of the times either Maria or Fac separated Beto and Rocio, she walked back and the cow sort of went for her and Rocio screamed... I am surprised how these actors keep a straight face with the animals taking over a scene. I remember the kiss in Mi corazon es tuyo while Silvia had to pick up the turkey (9) and then kiss Jorge with the turkey in her arms and him holding the neck/head away from them. LOL!
Yes, Santi is throwing Isa under the bus, but Rocio knows he is in it, what she doesn't know is that nothing really happened between Isa and Fac, although she might suspect it. I guess Santi was right about Rocio having a heart and this is why she did not tell Feli all she knew about the dirty deeds of Isa/Santi. I hope Rocio tells SOMEONE... sooner rather than later.

Extension! Oh, no! Sometimes that drives things off the rails. But most times it just means the action will slow WAY down around 3/4th of the way in. Let's hope it's just slowed, not ruined.
I'm really keeping my fingers crossed, Vivi. It seems that so much progress has already been made on the replacement for this, that I really hope it's not an extension on the scale of Robo, MCET (was that extended, or did they plan for it to be that long?)or Hasta (again was that extended or was it originally planned to be so long.)

Nanette- Yeah, no one character here is a saint. They all have flaws and blind spots, and Maria's blind spot is Rocio. I am sure she will turn around soon as far as Rocio is concerned. At least I hope so.
Thanks, Sara, for the extension info. The only thing I think I have seen without an extension was QPTR. Let us just hope they cannot wait for "Antes Muerta que Lichita" to be launched. It is always about the money, isn't it? :)

You are so right, Nanette! It's what I like about the show. I also wanted to say that I don't like how unfair Maria is to Rocío. Not just because I like Rocío, but also because I like Maria and I don't want to see her unhappy and I don't like to see her being so stubborn and judgemental.
Jarifa- they practically have the whole show cast (and it's a great cast... I REALLY WANT TO SEE IT.) I am really hoping this show doesn't get destroyed by an extension.

Sara and Jarifa, many thanks for the enjoyable recaps and hard work involved though I'm sure it's more fun when ACT is moving along so well. Here's hoping that they do not extend it badly and ruin it.
Anyway, it seems Rocio may spill the beans about the fotos on the computer. She has been honest so far unlike some Carmona family members. Will she doom Facundo to save the family? However, she thinks Isa and Santi planned the fotos as a fake scenario. Still Facundo's in trouble most likely any way with Maria. Must see tv tonight.

Rosie Ocampo, who is producing Lichita, refuses to have long tns or extensions, that's why her tns are usually around 100 epis. The exception for her is La Fea Mas Bella, which from what I've seen was long. But all her recent tns have been short: Por Ella Soy Eva; Mentir Para Vivir; La Fuerza del Destino; Pobres tan Ricos.
If the show is ruined by an extension, I hope we can all commiserate together ;-)

I was hoping the same. I think the only way to avoid an extension is to watch a flop. :-/
There's also the whole Mother-Son dynamic. It's a stereotype, but they always say a mother is close to her son and no girl is good enough.
