Amores con trampa #4 4/2/15

Here's a discussion space if you want/need it.

Marta wrote up the following and I just copied and pasted from her.

YOU ARE WONDERFUL MARTA! THANK YOU!

Here are some quotes and comments about ep 4.

Both Santiago and Isabel refer to Maria as ‘la guarachuda’

Maria: El changarro is cute! (referring to Isa’s boutique locale)

So Yoya’s real name is Carmen.

Beto: sera mejor que se vaya, si no… le voy a dejar la cara mas machucada que un venado en carretera!
(LOL!!) you better go now… otherwise I will smash your face worse than a deer on a highway!

OMG that Francisca is a B with capital BEE.

Maria: Es por esa cabra de enfrente, verdad? Facundo: Ya no seas malas pulgas, Maria!
(its because of that goat next door, right? … Don’t be a bad-ass flea, Maria!! (don’t stir up the pot more)

Francisca: You tripped on my foot! (yeah, right!)

Whoa! Susana the tough girl!!

So Francisca gives Carmen a hard time and drives her right into Francisca’s own bf Felipe!! ‘la vida te da sorpresas!’

So they called Facundo and Susana from the elementary school on day 1 (for Susana pushing that boy)!! That must be a record!!

So Maria won’t allow BULLYING to her son!! And calls the boys who did it ‘cabritos’ (goats)

Porfirio and his boiled eggs at all times! LOL! (and calling the women ‘mango petacon’)

Perpetua: No tiene llenadera!! (as saying ‘you are a bottomless barrel!!’)

OMG Facundo giving money to his family as if it were handful of peanuts!! To spend at the Mal!! Errr. Mall! …Err Mole!
Fac: Ora pues!! ‘Todos a la compradera!!’
Perpetua at massage chairs: Esta temblando!! Se esta muriendo!! (it is shaking!! … it is dying!!)
Susanita buying little toddler boy clothes for her cerdito Margarito!!
Beto riding the carousell benches with different girls!! LOL!
(what is Liverpool?? Never heard about that store.)
Mañana Nos traen el Interne-te-te!!
Rocio the honest straight ugly duckling. Whoa! Her dad was also a swindler?? Must run in the family!
Este: ‘el cuerpo te pasa factura’ (the body as it gets older ‘passes you the bill’)
OMG!!! Susana is trying to bring Margarito into the school!! LOL!!
Jac: UD sabe porque el hijo del tamal no vino a la escuela? Porque esta mailto!
There’s something really STRAIGHT UP about the Carmona women I am lovin’!!

Thank you, Marta!

I can recap tomorrow so you can take a break after your triple duty this week!

Marta--thanks again so much for the recap and Sara, thank you for running it up the flagpole!

It's refreshing to see the nouveau-riche "country mice" sticking up for themselves in their new environment (standing up for their children with the school principal, etc). Also I'm relieved that the animals are portrayed as part of the family.

Glad to say this show has enough going for it to keep me coming back.

J in Oregon

Marta, great stuff. I commend you for taking this on and hope others will join you in recapping this one.

OK, so now we meet more Mean Girls. Really, this is so middle school it should not be happening on a college campus.

Love that Facundo and Maria are fighting for their kids in this situation. Love the scenes with Margarito, who is much cuter than Arnold Ziffel was in Green Acres. However, pigs tend to grow very quickly.

Where are those cute goats from the first episode? And where are the cats? Figaro is waiting to see them!

Marta, thank you so much for going above and beyond. This was so much fun.

Sara, thanks so much for posting and I am really looking forward to your recap of tonight.

The bullying scene was very, very tough. What made it painful to me is that she is so sweet and innocent, she didn't realize exactly what was going on at first. How cruel.

J, I echo your "It's refreshing to see the nouveau-riche "country mice" sticking up for themselves". And the strong bond the family has seems real and is so refreshing.

Facundo is a big flirt, isn't he?? It sort of irks me as Maria appears to be a wonderful mother, wife and a very nice person. The fact she is quite beautiful is beside the point but.

I enjoyed the mall scene - "OMG Facundo giving money to his family as if it were handful of peanuts!!" (great line Marta). Frankly, there isn't too much here I don't like (bullying and the recent rave where the animals were disrespected aside)...

Susana is becoming my favorite. Fearless, strong and protective. I wish I had her grit and determination. I don't want to leave out Margarito. Urban, your "who is much cuter than Arnold Ziffel was in Green Acres" had me smiling away.

Diana

Thank you, Marta, for your hard work. You always bring out the most interesting things. It is appreciated.

Btw, "Liverpool" is the name of a dept. store chain.

Some notes from last night:

Rich boy Diego stops on by to give Alberto a weak excuse because Rocío asked him to.

Alberto tells parents he wants to go back to the country. Facundo tells him they are all staying together. Facundo makes him put out his hand so he can slap it.

Alberto picks up poor Carmen at the University on his horse. More embarrassment for her.

Poor Jacinto being picked on because of his tasty banana sandwich. At least Susana comes to his rescue and Facundo and María to hers. Nobody will be bullying her child.

Facundo opens his wallet and takes them all shopping at the mall. They come home with their treasures, cell phones for all, and a tablet for Carmen. Tomorrow they get the internet. Facundo thinks it comes with mariachi since it is "Double band".

Isabel upset because the kids are having garage sale sellong their stuff since they no longer have an allowance. Santiago explains they are broke and their workers are suing them. Her selling 7,000 peso shawls is not going to help. They need 20 million pesos (from their new neighbors) to get out of the hole.
Rocío overhears.

Isabel decides to go to store but has run out if gas. Facundo decides to take her and off they go on a wild ride complete with pickled peppers and onions for a snack. María sees them leave and is not happy. They have a wild ride and end up knocking down a couple of stands at the market. They call the police. Fausto offers to pay for everything and it is settled. María and granny have gone over to talk to Felipe to see if he knows his wife is off with Fausto.

Fausto and Isabel return and explain it all. Santiago not upset. María tells Facundo he needs to stay far away from Isabel and take care if her. Santago kisses María's hand. Facundo wipes it off on his shirt. Santiago wants Isabel to flirt with Facundo to facilitate the swindle.

According to the currency converter I bookmarked there are almost 15 pesos to a US dollar. 20 million pesos then equals about $1.33 million USD.

Santiago said something in a previous episode about 50 million pesos, which becomes about $3.34MM USD, or a third of Facundo's fortune.

Facundo needs a good financial adviser and a lawyer.

On the bullying: it was TOUGH to watch!

Francisca needs an anvil BIG TIME!

I meant to say Facundo and Maria go to the school to defend Susana
also in Jacinto's joke it was supposed to be 'malito' (sick), not mailto.

Anon, I think you meant Facundo when you said Fausto... QTPD syndrome?

yes, the Facundo slapping Beto's hand was a bit off... isn't Beto over 22? but honestly it was funny.

good catch on Facundo wiping Maria's hand after Santi kissed it... i missed that.

thanks for moving it to a thu blog, Sara.

Anon, thank you for all the details including "Isabel decides to go to store but has run out if gas".

I couldn't figure out how they ended up going off together. Thanks for explaining that.

I half expected Facundo to pull out large wads of bills to pay for the vendors carts they destroyed.

Diana

More notes from last night:

Rocío tells Alberto that her uncle is going to try to swindle her dad and that is why Santiago is being nice to them. That being said Santiago has been like a father to her so she does not want Alberto to tell his dad. Rocío thinks that she and Alberto can control the situation and stop it.

Santiago is having a hard time convincing Isabel to flirt and make Facundo fall in live with her. He is not asking that she make love to him. He ends up telling her she owes him big time. Time for her to do something after all he has done for her and her niece and nephew.

The Carmonas are having dinner. Carmen asks that Susana not have Margarito at the table. Fausto announces that tomorrow he is going to a business meeting with Santiago. Alberto literally chokes on his food and suggests that he get to know Santiago better before getting into business with him. Facundo says he is not a fool and nobody has ever pulled one over on him back where they lived.

Isabela 'la puchis" throws Santiago out of their bedroom. In pain and stiff at the office the next day, he explains his plan to have Isabela make Facundo fall in love with her to Esteban his associate. Esteban is not impressed. Santiago says Facundo will be like a tortilla on a comal and he will give them his money.

Jacinto distracts the school guard to Susana can get Margarito in to school. The pig is a hit in all of his squealing glory!

Facundo is leaving for his meeting with Santiago when Alberto catches up with him and offers to accompany him.

Santiago greet the Carminas but quickly finds out this us going to be a lot harder than anticipated: Alberto wants to see exactly where the condominium is being built so they can see the construction themselves.Santiago tells them to go wait for him at the parking lot and he will meet them there. He then is on the phone to Esteban telling him they have a very serious problem.

María returns her 7,000 peso shawl to Isabel's boutique. To Isabel's horror, María wants nothing to do with her.

Jarifa (yes, The other notes were mine, too)

Marta, it is more of a HEFDM syndrome. We have a Fausto there, too. Lol.

Jarifa

Thank you Anon for the notes.
great stuff.
I wonder if Beto and Rocio won't find out when Facundo jumps the cliff until it's too late...
Facundo seems a bit too proud to admit he might need a 2nd set of eyes... but it was funny that Facundo told Santiago they wanted to see the construction site AND the materials, down to the nails!! LOL!!

OT: I am having JS withdrawals already.
I am about to watch my condensed DVD of JS in LQNPA after easter... and found out he won lead actor that year for it...
no wonder. check this out... go to about 6:30 to 8:30 in this video...

Thank you so much Marta

Susanita is my favorite

Thought the scene with Santiago and Isabel, as he attempts to convince her to encourage Facundo, well done.

It bothers me Facundo has a roving eye and disrespects Maria implying she's stupid. (I'm very pleasantly surprised, I like AZ in this role and was afraid I would see Alejandra so recently removed from La Malquerida, I don't)

I so want Carmen, with a make over, to shut down the coven of bitches.

tofie, the best way for carmen to get her sweet 'back at you babe!' is already happening... Felipe received her with open arms when she was upset... he will stand up for her when he sees how Francisca treats her... and it will cost Francisca more than she thought. (that toxic environment at the college reminded me of the movie 'she's all that' with Freddy Prinze Jr)

Just wished Felipe was cuter, Carmen will turn heads from bunches of boys.

I thought episode 4 was just as entertaining and sweet as 1-3.

Big Ed has missed his calling all these years. He seems made for comedy. When he hopped out of the truck after the accident screaming "paisano!" and blessing them I just laughed out loud.

The Carmona family has great chemistry and I really get the impression that the CAST gets along and they are having fun with this show.

Marta-Francisca is indeed a B with a capital BEE. And way too old for the part. Nicole seems salvageable though.

UA-yeah, those were definitely more childish antics for college kids...even for middle school kids. By middle school the bullying is more is refined, subtle and cruel (at least among girls.)

Facundo does need a lawyer or adviser. I'm glad Rocio and Beto seem to be watching out for him.

tofie-I am also really bothered by Facundo's roving eye. How are they going to write this so I don't end up hating him? Must see TV IMO. (PS: I think Felipe is cute...but I may be letting his sweet disposition cloud my judgement.)

Jarifa-THANK YOU!!! It's wonderful that you, Marta and NovelaMaven stepped up to help get this off the ground. I'm glad I'll be able to help more next week.

Diana-Let's set up a table for Susana. She is my homegirl. I absolutely ADORE her!

Steve-Yes, Francisca need a big anvil.

J in O-I'm glad you and others are enjoying this! I keep coming back to it too!

And apropos of nothing-My favorite part of the opening credits is the animated pig....especially when he wields the chainsaw and carves Emilio Larrosa's name out.

Thank you to all of the recappers this week. I missed the first 3 episodes as I was on vaca and wasn't sure I wanted to view this TN but the recaps and comments made me rethink. I enjoyed last night's episode. Still trying to put faces to the names.

I was surprised that Maria, coming from farm, would wear so much eye makeup. Thought she would be more like her nun character from AC. But then she may look too young to be a mother to a 22 year old.

Welcome back, Carvivlie! I hope you had a fun vacation.

Abuela Perpetua said something about Facundo being in love with Maria since she was 15. So I guess we could maybe adjust the beanie and assume she had Beto when she was 16 or 17 making her 38 at the oldest. Supposedly, Beto is 21?

Still makes Facundo kind of a perv, though.

Liverpool is a major, upscale department store chain found in Mexico's larger, more well-heeled cities. Liverpool is usually in malls and features lots of U.S. fashions, electronics and the like, usually at prices comparable to or higher than in the U.S Similar to Macy's or Nordstrom's.

Thanks for the info, Greg!

I am joining the Susana fan club. She has spunk..I love spunk.

Spunk and pigtails. The perfect combo.

Thanks Sara! AZ is so beautiful I cant see what Fac sees in Isa, except her blond hair I guess.

Must admit I'm going thru mcet withdrawal. Hopefully this will fill the void.

I'm not getting into this maybe because I don't care for IC and EY but will give it a couple of more days.

Decie,
i agree that i am not drawn to IC that much either... but EY has lost some weight and his character here has that 'teddy bear' type of quality and drawing that i felt for Rodrigo in Destilando.
Also Ernesto LaG is surprising me here in a positive way... so far. also Dona Luz Maria and Don Ignacio provide the 'natural' comic relief.

Carvivlie- I feel like Facundo has always had a wandering eye. (Like his dad haha.) I'm sure he saw all there was to see in San Bartolo and is dazzled by the "new" sights. And Maria was pretty upset when he went off with Isa. I wonder if he has a history.

Decie Girl- at least you haven't given up.

There will only be three posts next week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) since I don't think a lot of people are sticking with this. I don't want to clog the front page. After that it will probably be just a Monday post for discussion during the week.

I wish we could get one more recapper. I'm willing to recap on Mondays and Marta offered to do Fridays. It would be sweet if we could do regular three times a week posts.

Teddy bear is a good description, Marta. EY seems to really enjoy the kids too.

My 1st novela was Destilando amor & I started in the middle of it. I thought EY was a hunk, until I saw my 2nd novela, Pasion with Fernando Colunga, my true love.
I have seen EY in an interview & he had a really cute sense of humor. He does NOT like the paparazzi. Who can blame him?

I can't catch up with all the comments till later, but just wanted to drop by and say how glad I am Amores con Trampa has an audience on Caray. Yay!

Marta, thanks for starting the discussion with highlights.

Vario- I honestly wonder if one of the reasons this show is going to be short is because Big Ed doesn't want it extended. Don't know why I think that. I just do.

Niecie in MD- I'm glad we have a place to discuss too! It would be a travesty for Caray NOT to cover a show Big Ed is in. ;)

The Carmonas will likely get swindled for everything they've got because Santiago & Isa are uppity & buji-ism!

I hope it's a happier ending than that, Steve.

I've always spelled it bougie...
