Amores con trampa #6 4/6/15 Is it just me or is it hot in here?

There will be only 3 recaps this week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We can discuss Tuesday's and Thursday's episode in the comments.

Beto has just stopped Facundo from signing the papers that would make him business partners with Santiago. Beto informs his father that Santiago is just trying to rob him. He knows this because Rocío, Santaigo's own niece told him!

The security guard thinks he should have listened to his mother and become a fireman or un soldado de *BLEEP*.

Santiago wants everyone to calm down. Esteban thinks there must be some misunderstanding. Santiago explains that Rocío has some psychological problems and is on medication. She's troubled. She's being very difficult lately. That must be why she told Beto that her uncle was trying to cheat Facundo. Beto asks Santiago to deny his company is in trouble. Santiago comes right out with the truth. Yes. The company is going though a difficult moment right now. But that doesn't mean he's trying to steal from Facundo. Facundo thinks he should think about the deal a little more. Santiago understands. Handshakes all around.

Facundo thinks the family need to continue to trust Santiago. Beto can't believe it and asks his dad if he's just going to forget what Rocío said. Facundo reminds Beto what Santiago said about Rocío having problems. María agrees that Rocío is one crazy goat. Then María is glad he didn't sign and reminds Facundo he was a good businessman in San Bartolo, he doens't need to start being stupid now. Beto also argues that the money is not just for Facundo, it's for the family's future.

At the Velasco home, Santiago yells at Rocío for telling Beto the truth. She acts like a typical teen, telling Santiago to leave her loan. Isa joins in and tells Rocío it's her fault the ranchero doesn't want to do business. Santiago tells Rocío that she needs to go back to Beto and tell him she lied, misunderstood, or heard wrong or something anything to solve the problem. Felipe and Alejandra, drawn by the yelling ask what is wrong. They are finally told they truth. The company in bankrupt and they don't have one red cent!

Rocío runs into Beto on her way out. She's crying and upset that he ratted her out. He swears he had to do it! His dad was just about to sign the contract. Why did she even tell him? She doesn't even know, but she will never trust him again.

The Carmonas gather to watch TV. Squee! Margarito! María continues to work on her shawls. (Sooo, I've seen her loom knitting, needle knitting and now embroidering...how exactly do these shawls get made?) Abuela Perpetua wonders why María even continues to work on them. María gave her word. She'll turn them over to Isa and be done with Isabel. María doesn't want to have anything more to do with that family. Facundo tells her not to be that way. They don't even know if what Rocío said was true. Beto notices the news story about the striking workers. They recognize it as Velasco's construction site. The workers are calling Santiago by name and calling him a crook. They yell that they haven't been paid in months.

Isa is also watching in her bedroom. She is mortified. Santiago just yells that he told Esteban to keep the story away from the press. Isa insists he fire all the workers...which he explains he can't do because he hasn't paid them in over 3 months. Conchita announces that the neighbor is there and would like to speak to Santiago. I can't even begin to describe his comically conniving face. After he leaves Conchita asks Isa if what she saw on TV is true and if that's why they haven't paid her. Isa tells her not to bother her right now.

Facundo paces in the living room. He doesn't like what he saw on the news. So it's true what Rocío said? Isa runs to Santiago's defense. Santiago is not the crook...his investors and other business associates were! Santiago was the one who was swindled! Santiago runs with it. Exactly! That's why he appealed to Facundo...someone decent who might be able to help. Facundo wishes he had just told him the truth. Santiago tells him to forget it, though. Then is asks for forgiveness. Isa is just sad that they will have to sell everything...including the house. They will have to move away from the neighborhood. Santiago and Isa turn on the water works. They still have each other though! Facundo offers to give them a loan. How much do they need?

50 millones de pesos??? María is beside herself. That's a lot of money! Facundo swears it's a loan. The neighbor promised to sign a paper agreeing to pay back every cent. Facundo Carmona is no dummy! He tries to give María kiss and is shut down.

Esteban thinks Santiago is celebrating too soon. Those 50 millones de pesos is not going to help that much. There are a lot of debts! What they need is an investor. Santiago thinks he can still talk Facundo into investing. He asks his secretary to bring in the champagne. He explains to Esteban how Isa saved his butt.

Diego and Rocío enjoy the park. I'm wondering about the random Polish tourists. Important? Anyhoo...Diego tells Rocío that her uncle's bankruptcy is a trending topic. He jokingly says he can't have a poor girlfriend. Rocío calls him an imbécil. He invites her to his house for some mood lifting activities. He kisses her, but she looks pretty miserable to me.

Felipe has contributed to the family by bringing home a pizza. Isa is not amused. Santiago thanks Felipe and praises his initiative. Isa wonders what people will think of his nephew delivering pizza. Santiago doesn't give a hoot what folks think and he starts eating his pizza. Alejandra reports that the families financial situation is all over the social media. Santiago informs the family that the workers will be paid tomorrow. Conchita wonders if that includes her. It does. Rocío wonders where the money is coming from. Isa tries to tell her to hush, but Rocío asks her what she's going to do, punish her? They've already taken away her allowance.

Facundo can't sleep, he's having a hot flash (I call them "personal summers", Facundo. They suck. At least you have a cement pond!). He goes for a swim and is observed by Isa. Where did he have all those "attributes" hidden (And where did Univision put them after they edited them out?) My how folks grow down on the farm! Isa remembers Santiago wants her to win Facundo over. María comes out to the pool. Facundo jumps out to kiss her. Isa figures she can at least have some fun with Facundo. Santiago interrputs Isa's musings and asks what she's doing. She tells him she's watching their future.

Felipe needs to find his T-shirt and apron. (Yes. Pleeease find it. And put it on. And don't subject us to your chest again.) Rocío complains about how early it is for him to be yelling. He's working some extra shifts at the pizzeria. He wonders how long Rocío knew they were broke. Not long, she tells him. She asks if Francisca has said anything about his pizza delivering. He doesn't care what she thinks. He's actually disappointed in her. When Rocío wonders if it's for the way she treated Carmen, his face gives him away. Rocío immediately deduces that he likes Carmen. He tries to deny it...ok, maybe.

Isa daydreams over breakfast. Facundo...Facundo... Santiago demands her attention. He explains that things are going to get better. At least they have the loan from the ranchero. Isa sarcastically comments about "they check" with all the zeros. Santiago is tired of her negativity. Santiago comments that hopefully the "loan" will become a "gift." Isa is too busy thinking about a soaking wet, half-naked Facundo (right there with you girlfriend!) Santiago asks if there's been any progress on Operation Seduce the Neighbor. Isa misunderstands and quickly answers "I haven't done anything!" A little back and forth and Santiago asks her to please pay attention. Oh! She finally gets it... things are going fine. Santiago reminds her all she has to do win Facundo over! Isa whines about missing a sale are Carrier because of her loser businessman of a husband. Santiago thinks it's her wasteful spending (derroche) at CARRIER that helped get them in this mess. Every second she wastes moves them closer to poverty! Isa will get over her fear and do what he asks...just remember HE is the one that asked her to do this (excellent defense strategy! But sweetums! You TOLD me to win him over!)

Facundo is mighty happy they brought the animals with them. It's nice to get up at 5 in the morning and feed them (I prefer Candy Crush and a cup of coffee myself.) Beto reminds him about milking the cows, too (ordeñar...because I'm sure we were all needing that in our arsenal of Spanish vocabulary.) Susana comes in with Jacinto. She is training him to fight. María notes that a family that eats together, stays together. Abuelo and Abuela have some lines I miss. Carmen sneaks out the front door.

She's run out to see Felipe. She wants him to teach her to drive since Beto doesn't seem to want to. She even offers to pay for it. He explains that he has to work, but after some cajoling he offers to let her come along. I really like Carmen, too.

At Colegio Libertad, los Pelirrojos Molestosos (I just made that up) are oinking at Jacinto. He tells them to cut it out and of course he's the one that gets in trouble. The teacher tells him he needs to be working, but he tells her he's done and asks to use la letrina (latrine...and judging from the laughter I don't think we need that word in our arsenal of Spanish vocabulary.)

Carmen parallel parks in front of the pizzeria...after a few attempts. She asks "Feli" how she did. Except for running up on a bench, hitting the back of a car and ruining the bumper and running over those old ladies, she did great! He's just kidding! In all seriousness he was impressed with her driving. She knew more than he expected. Francisca is waiting and she is not pleased. She tells Carmen to get out of the car. She wants to know why Carmen is with her boyfriend! Feli tells Francis he was teaching Carmen to drive. He wants to know why she's there. She was very critical of his job and didn't want to know anything about it. Francis tells him she came to talk to him. He tells her that he and Carmen are just friends. Francis says something again about the vase and tells Carmen to stay away from her boyfriend. Carmen calls her "Pancha" a couple times. Francisca tells her to scream and Carmen tells her that Feli brought her here. How is she supposed to get back home. Francis tells her to take the bus or something, but Feli thinks that's a bad idea since she doesn't know the city. Carmen play the innocent country girls who will get lost. Francis thinks that's a great idea. Get lost forever! Feli will take Carmen home on his way delivering pizzas. When Francis protests, he suggests she can drive Carmen home. That's met with a "ni loca!" Francis lays a big kiss on him before she leaves.

Jacinto has a big crush on Alejandra. And Alejandra is in love with Andrés and has been forever. Susana encourages her to tell him. Alejandra wouldn't dare. If he turned her down it would be like a hit in the head (and I'm going to hell because I laughed out loud when she got clocked by the ball.) Andres runs to help her up and to Susana suggests they all play a game. Susana says sure, she and Alejandra will BOTH play. Andres asks how long Alejandra has liked "fut" and she claims she's liked it forever. (Gosh Susana and Alejandra look alike.)

Jacinto is called into the office and he doesn't know why.

María has been called down to the school. She's worried Jacinto is being bullied again. Abuela Perpetua wants to go with her.

The school informs María that Jacinto is super intelligent. Abuela wonders why the teacher at his other school never said anything and the current teacher thinks maybe the course of study wasn't as difficult. The new teacher just wants Jacinto to develop his talents. It could cause problems in and outside of school if he doesn't (why is she trying to use scare tactics?)

Santiago makes sure his desk is nice and neat. Esteban asks if he's practicing for his new job as a secretary. Nope. For Esteban's information, Santiago is getting ready so when his neighbor walks in with those hated boots and bright, white teeth and bearing that 50 million peso check...there will be plenty of room on his desk! Santiago is going to have the last laugh! He's tired of Esteban and Isa's negative energy.

Facundo is at the bank and he wants his 50 millones de pesos IN CASH. It's his money isn't it? The banker tries to explain it may take a while, they don't have all of it there...and it's going to take quite a few suitcases. Facundo can help with that!

Facundo drops 50 millones de pesos IN CASH on Santiago's desk...well part of it. And Ay de mi! Facundo decides they don't need to sign a paper. Santiago's word is good enough for him. I'm sure other stuff was said....but this is the most important nugget we need to come away with. I'm just speechless over here. Ugh. Watching it the second time just hurts more. After Facundo leaves, Santiago is just thrilled and squeals with delight over how easy it was and will be to get more cash out of Facundo. Esteban asks if he will tell Isa about the cash, and Santiago says he's not. She's been a cranky pants lately anyway.

Facundo takes a tour of the fruit stands, makes some purchases and stops to pray to the Virgen.

Santiago rolls around in his cash. Some greed switch has been flipped in Esteban, too because now he's acting like Santiago. He wants to cheat Facundo out of his money, too! Money is wonderful! He loves money! And it looks like Esteban will be working on robbing Santiago because he thought bubbles that all the ranchero's money will be HIS!

The recap is up.

PS- Marta I hope you see this and also hope you still want to recap Friday.

PPS- I've emailed the blogmom about getting a link in the sidebar.

Sara, thank you for the recap, it was up before the show even started here on the West Coast-- Very enjoyable reading!

It's painful watching the big, good-natured Facundo blundering into business dealings with the shark next door, but I'm trusting that the writers won't let him go too far astray.

I do not get how Felipe is supposed to be Mr Hottie Jr. He looks about 35 and his face has the look of too many fast-food meals. And I agree Sara, no more shirts-off for him!

J in Oregon

Thanks, Sara, for your wonderful recap as well as all of your efforts in getting this recap/discussion page going.

Thanks, Stevie, for the novela information. Looks like we are heading for 200 episodes with HEFDM. :0

Anyway,

I loved Margarito's all too brief apoearance in his little jacket with the hood.

The cement pond scene was too short!

It was good that Grandpappy was just eating his hardboiled egg today rather than talking about them again or taking them on the road.

I cannot wait for the Esteban double cross that could be waiting for Santiago as well as Isabela pursuing Facundo for more than what Santiago might have had in mind.

It was uncomfortable watching Santiago reel Facundo in as J in Oregon mentioned.

I was half expecting Santiago to just throw all of the money on the floor and roll around in it like a dog in the grass.

Well paced enjoyable episode.

Jarifa

J in O - thank you! I'm glad to know that I'm getting this up in a fairly timely manner. I gave up "pre-capping" (watching online and working on it early) long ago, but now I worry about getting my recaps done quickly (perhaps to the detriment of spelling, grammar and usage.)

I am going to cling to the fact that Maria mentioned Facundo's business acumen. I really don't want to see Facundo as the dope.

I don't think I interpret Carmen's attraction as "He's so hot." I think she's drawn to his heart. Francis was all about the pesos, but now that Feli is broke, it's probably her feminine pride that keeps her from leaving. She is not going to let a ranchera win!

Jarifa-don't sell yourself short, you helped get things going, too! I appreciated your comments last Thursday. I appreciate all the comments.

Margarito was precious in his little hoodie, but I'm not sure he liked it!

I thought Santiago practically was rolling around in the money!

Agree that this was another enjoyable episode. I'm looking forward to watching tonight's shenanigans!

It's not everyone's cup of tea, but this show just makes me giggle. It's a nice way to end the day before I head off to bed.

Update - blogmom added us to the sidebar.

Stevey- I hope you see this. I am going to delete our comments about the other shows since blogmom made it an official post. :)

Sara, I laughed at the title. So true!

Simply splendid. I was savoring every single sweet and saucy comment to the point it was nearly impossible to pick out my favorites so limited them to "comically conniving face", "Facundo can't sleep, he's having a hot flash (I call them "personal summers", Facundo. They suck" and “Where did he have all those "attributes" hidden (And where did Univision put them after they edited them out?)".

Fantastic!

"Isa is too busy thinking about a soaking wet, half-naked Facundo (right there with you girlfriend!)". Needless to say I am being totally honest in that I am in total agreement! And while I love the hawt swimming, Facundo walking vigorously around the market with that joyous zest and beaming smile melted my heart. His warmth and enthusiasm are contagious. His happiness seems to real, I rarely feel as though he is acting.

J "it's painful watching the big, good-natured Facundo blundering into business dealings with the shark next door" echoed my feelings exactly. I admit I was shocked to see Maria trusts his business sense. Unfortunately the rules of the game have changed significantly as the stakes (fortune) are so much higher.

Santiago's caressing, rubbing and kissing the money was the most affection we've seen from him thus far, no? ;)

And yes Jarifa, I think Santiago will rue the day he asked Isa to flirt with Santiago. Now I wish someone would offer me that job. Why, I am so magnanimous, I would make any and all sacrifices involved and even do it for free!! Sigh.

"Squee! Margarito!" ITA. Also, wasn't an adorable little outfit involved?

Sara, thank you so, so much!

Diana

Thanks, Diana!!

"Facundo walking vigorously around the market with that joyous zest and beaming smile melted my heart. His warmth and enthusiasm are contagious. His happiness seems to real, I rarely feel as though he is acting."

I second all of this! This show and the characters on it just warm my heart. Even Ernesto "the baddie" makes me smile because he is so kind and supportive with Felipe.

Okay, this is where I get off. Being from the country does not automatically make you stupid. That ridiculous handling of the money by Facundo (what an ugly name, poor thing) was just ignorant and, IMO, more idiotic than funny. But, of course, different strokes ... enjoy. :-)

No. Being from the country does not automatically make you stupid...as Jacinto's high IQ showed.

And I have to say, how disheartening to try and get a show going only to receive a negative comment about said show.

But I guess I'm guilty of the same myself once in a while.

Facundo is naïve. And trusting.

Gullible, yes. Misguided, yes. I see none of these traits as stupid.

Facundo's actions are coming from a good place. His heart.

Diana

I love you Diana.

And I'm still holding out hope for him

I'm also wondering if Esteban will turn out to be the REAL baddie and Facundo and Santiago will have to work together to "defeat" him.

Sara, yes i am still up for friday, and i second what you all said about the Facundo character being so 'genuine' and heart-centered.

I felt the same way about Esteban... he was so against Santiago swindling Facundo but when the money shows up, his eyes pop out and i am afraid he will turn on Santiago. you are all on to something there.

Felipe... i agree. his heart is what is attracting Carmen, not his looks. and i like his attitude toward Francisca... 'you might be my gf, but i don't have to approve everything you do'

Woo hoo!! Thanks Marta!

I think it was Diana and J that mentioned Facundo being so genuine and heart-centered.

I'm a Feli fan...but it's definitely not his looks that call to me.

There is something about Carmen and the cadence of her speech that just charms the stew out of me.

I do think the young actors could use some more polish, but they are coming off as sincere and that's more important to me than anything.

OT: I changed my profile pic. from left to right my mom, my grandson, myself, my daughter

What a lovely family picture!! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Sara and Marta!

I so look forward to the recaps and the comments. So happy this is developing such a loyal following with such insightful, fun comments.

The little show that can. And did.

Diana

What a beautiful, happy family Marta!

Diana

I'm so glad you are enjoying the show and the conversation, Diana. I look forward to it, too. My husband has even commented on the fact that I laugh quite a bit when I'm watching.

It's not the size of the patio that matters, it's the company on the patio.

I am especially pleased that others share in the joy of this show.

It sounds really goofy, but this show just gives me warm fuzzies. Big Ed's smile just melts my heart.

yeah Big Ed... and how excited he gets with the little things... like eating fresh fruit and bringing some home to his wife... and his devotion to the virgin... that was moving.

Thanks for the recap! Still trying to get into this show. It's okay. I guess I haven't found that "hook" yet to keep me. A little less buffoonery(?) and drama and a little more heart would go a long way.

Agree that Jr. is nothing to look at but at least he's sweet.

Gracias!

Just caught up with this episode and love the idea that Jacinto is intellectually gifted.

I hope Margarito stays small. Arnold Ziffel never grew so if Margarito stays small he will always be their pet. I'm still mourning the little goats.

Cash and no signature on any documents? That is a disaster that will strike very soon.

Hi Carvivlie!-Thank you and glad to see you! Apparently I am a glutton for buffoonery. I get it all day at work and I want to see more on TV.

UA-I was really happy they went that route, too since it really did sort of point out that being from a rural area does not mean you can't be smart. I did not like that the teacher was making it seem like some sort of tragedy though. As if gifted children are automatically socially inept. If anyone has social issues, it's the little red-headed boys that have to tear down others to feel better about themselves.

And I was just devastated when I read that the goats had been sacrificed!

You've got me wondering if there are several look alike pigs in the wings.

I hate to think what is in store for Facundo. What a sweet, trusting man.

UA and Sara, yes, not signing anything will be trouble for Facundo.

I hated losing the goats too. When I saw that tiny carcass on the spit, I had a sinking sensation. I'm never right so was sad this was the first time. Ack.

Diana

Thanks, Sara. I missed the show last night as I was surfing between The Voice and Dancing with the Stars.

I do not know if I can stand watching trusting Facundo being bamboozled by tricky Santiago. Fac is being foolhardy, and we all know that a fool and his hardy are soon parted. He did not have Santi sign anything....good luck with that. Even with a signature , it is not easy to collect on a loan, especially to a relative or friend...or someone devoid of ethics or a sense of responsibility. Meh...Trouble and woe ahead..back in the pool while you still own it, Facundo.

Marta...What a lovely family photo.

susanlynn, you always make me laugh "a fool and his hardy are soon parted" - still smiling.

Diana

Diana of the Golden Heart..... Knowing that I made you smile, made my day. I love to read your always kind, insightful, uplifting comments. I think of you every morning as I force myself out of bed at 5.15. Are you still rising early, early ? What time do you get home ?

I feel like Facundo comes from a world where a man's word and a handshake mean more than anything in writing ever could. Unfortunately, he's in sharkland now.

I agree with you there, Carvivlie. That's where I have to adjust my beanie.

Marta, the new photo is lovely!

Jarifa

Just a quick reminder- I will post some bullets in here in the comments tonight.

Wednesday
From faulty memory, out of order, loosely translated and in need of some major "fluffing".

I'm still not sure how I feel about the direction they took in the Jacinto story tonight. He's smart, but you would think he's got some rare disease. Carmen did some google searching and found out that some super intelligent people have been known to become murdering psychopaths. The family decides to keep the child away from all sharp objects. Maybe it was supposed to be funny? Anyway, Jacinto eventually figures out everyone is being super weird and Maria explains to him about being super smart. Jacinto plaintively asks if they still love him.

Beto and Rocío are back on. He kisses her and Facundo catches them. At first Dad thinks it's just a "calentura", but Beto swears he really likes Rocío and wants more than just some fling. He and Facundo decide to keep this fact from Maria. Facundo approves his son trying to woo Rocío. Later the two kids meet at the mall, but Beto flubs the date by telling Rocío they should probably not let his mom know they are going out. He's not afraid of his mom, but he respects her. Rocío thinks he's ashamed...or something like that. So by the end of the episode they were "off" again, but mooning over each other.

Santiago is still pushing Isa to seduce Facundo. She asks her husband if he could be a little jealous. Santiago thinks there is no reason to be jealous of the ranchero.

Isa drinks for the whole episode and is three sheets to the wind by the final scene...where she executes and amazing pratfall. Well done Itatí!

Anyway...

Santiago is hit by Estefy(Nora Salinas) while jogging. She is an old college friend. In fact the two of them almost married. She must be loaded with cash. Nice car, nice clothes and she just returned from Bali. She's surprised to hear Santiago is settled down...not the adventurous, wild man he was in college. They exchange numbers and smoldering looks.

The Velascos invite the Carmonas to dinner. Isa thinks sushi would be a good idea. It's kind of painful to watch the Carmona's try to eat with chopsticks. Facundo asks for some of the "guacamole" (yeah, folks...it's wasabi.) The episode ends on his choking while Santiago gets a call from Estefy.

Wow! That was quick, Sara. Thanks.

Sara, for me, the whole Jacinto is "so smart so he could be maladjusted and dangerous" story line was just another opportunity to be silly: schtick. Yes, Italí did a great job as a drunk. You could barely understand her.

Highlights for me:

María taking the knife even away from Facundo when he was butchering a watermelon.

Facundo slapping Alberto's hand again for him kissing Rocío then changing his mind completely when he finds out that Alberto feels like he did when he first met María.

Santiago kissing María's hand and Fausto wiping it off on his shirt again.

Alberto tying up his horse in the parking garage at the mall.

Drunken Isabel grabbing Facundo's leg during sushi.

Alberto thinking: "Cómo me gusta mi cabra loca." (How I like my crazy goat.) referring to Rocío.

Facundo and María bringing the Velascos the homemade hooch and the chicken.

Stefany literally running in to Santiago. I felt sort of bad for Santiago when she was talking about "living her life" and Bali and he sounded almost embarrassed admitting to being a family man with a construction company.

All in all, a nice rambling episode.

Jarifa

It should be Itatí!

Jarifa

I've noticed that every time Santiago touches someone from Facundo's family, Facundo wipes it off. It cracks me up.

I think what I have to get used to with comedies is the rambling nature of things.

Also forgot to mention how much I like Beto and Rocío together.

Sara, thank you for the fun, fresh, informative recap. The fact you so enjoy the show is apparent with every carefully crafted word you write.

"Jacinto plaintively asks if they still love him" was lovely. "They exchange numbers and smoldering looks" was one of my other favorites.

One of the reasons these recaps are so essential is that due to my lack of language skills, there are times that the entire context of a conversation or series of actions is lost. Thank you for explaining what happened with Jacinto Sara and doing it so well. The family overreacted. Hopefully, the poor kid will know his family loves him despite their rather clumsy attempts to "help him", which sprung from good intentions.

"Santiago thinks there is no reason to be jealous of the ranchero". Oh my. I gather he has not seen our Facundo in the pool?? Perhaps we need to see a few more swimming scenes where he sees exactly who (blessed with amazing God given gifts) he is encouraging his wife to flirt with.

Nora Salinas is great and a wonderful addition here.

Jarifa, your list of highlights was great and I agreed with every one.

My favorite moments were watching Maria/Africa's facial expressions. She was simply amazing - she conveys so much without saying a word. In La Malquerida, her sadness and courage were perfectly conveyed. Here, she and Eduardo/Facundo are in harmony and sync. He is such a formidable presence, yet she is never lost or disappears in any of their scenes together. She was perfectly cast.

Itatí was very convincing last night. And while Facundo and Maria's gifts may not have been to their hosts liking, it was a sweet gesture. Nothing they have done or said is buffoonish to me - it's just plain funny.

To my surprise, I also like Beto and Rocio. It's taken me a bit to warm up to Beto but I'm getting there.

And I also laughed at Facuno wiping Santiago's kisses from Maria's hand. While he may be a flirt, I don't think he would tolerate anything inappropriate toward Maria. At all. :)

Sara, thank you so much. I am enjoying every moment of this!

Diana

Good morning susanlynn!

Thank you for your kind words. I always enjoy what you write, you've uplifted me many a day with your wit and humor.

Yes, I am still up at 4 (and you are right behind me at 5:15)

I have a long commute and am at work before 7 and try to be home by 5:30 during a normal day. I often do work at home nights (not uncommon I know).

Wishing you a wonderful day amiga...

Diana

Sara, thanks so much for the speedy quick recap. I was only able to watch the last five minutes so I especially appreciate your recap this morning. I completely missed Sombra, so I am looking forward to that recap. Now, I must dash. Later, gators.

Thank you Jarifa, Diana and Susanlynn for keeping our conversation humming along. The coffee has kicked in so my thoughts are sort of everywhere. Please pardon my rambling.

Jarifa-I really like your "highlights" every day. I look forward to them like tofie's lists.

Diana-I wish I could have been a little less "slapdash" with the mini recap. I was pretty tired last night. I probably wasn't a very good idea to watch without the Spanish captions either. I am hoping Jarifa or Marta can fill in something for me...

At the sushi dinner, Facundo asked how Rocío and Feli came to live with the Velascos. Isa started to slur and cry...and then I sort of tuned out...Did she actually explain what happened?

I've never seen Nora Salinas in a comedic role. This should be interesting.

Diana you mentioned how well AZ is doing in this role and it got me thinking (as your comments often do.) There has been a lot of talk about how young she is, but like you said she can express so much without saying a word. I suspect the María character is going to turn out to be more than the scorned, suffering wife and that they needed an actress who could keep up with EY, IC, EL and NS. They have found that actress with AZ (sorry for all the initials.)

I also feel like this show is less buffoony (not a word) than other comedies I've seen. Not that I'm an expert or anything.

Beto has had my heart since day one.

Susanlynn-Oh, you missed a good Sombra last night.

Sara,
I have to admit i was helping my daughter with her algebra homework last night through most of the episode. i do have it in my recorder so if i get home early enough tonight i can tell you if they said anything. but i have a class tonight at church so it might not be until late.

actually i found it on youtube. i will try to watch by lunchtime and see if i can transcribe anything they said.

Ugh. Algebra. Lol.

No pressure Marta. Not an earth shattering problem. I just know you and Jarifa have better comprehension than I do.

Our comments crossed. Do what you can. I appreciate it! Thank you!

Sara, I just took a look because I remembered anticipating the sobrinos story last night and I wondered if I had missed it too. Isabel never explains and just cries. Santiago says it happened ten years ago and it was a blessing and then they were off to eating sushi.

Jarifa

Perfect Jarifa. I felt like that was what happened, but I did tune out and I do doubt my comprehension a lot.

Sara, I am so glad I still had it on my video. Still haven't retired the vcr. Just gets harder finding tapes. LOL.

I am appreciating the variety in my novela viewing since last night we had a garrotting on HEFDM plus the discussion of a woman being thrown off a building and a a guy being beaten and left for dead. Sure is nice having an episode where the most violent thing was Facundo choking on wasabi.

I just had to click on sushi photos in the recaptcha.

Jarifa

That's almost creepy that you had to identify sushi. Big Brother is reading our comments :-)

I still am in awe of the determination of the HEFDM crew. The show seems to have lasted HEFDM! And weren't there a bunch of cast changes? But I watched ALL of La Gata, so that says something about my tastes.

On Sombra we had a woman try to throw the ashes of the prota's mother to the ground.

I definitely appreciated the lighter moments of ACT after all the tension of Sombra!

i think i missed the ending, looking forward to watching it.. i can just imagine Facundo getting a big lump of wasabi in his mouth thinking it is guac... even if he is used to spicy food... a good tablespoon of wasabi all by itself will do him in.

Sara, I think your comprehension is simply awesome! You miss nothing as far as I am concerned!

And I don't notice the age difference between Facundo and Maria at all. They flow seamlessly. I smile at times though when I look at Beto who likely is very close to Maria's real age.

Jarifa, "Sure is nice having an episode where the most violent thing was Facundo choking on wasabi". Amen!

Marta, helping your daughter with algebra! I'm impressed. I did not do well with it in school myself a hundred years ago :)

I am interested in hearing the backstory on the kids too.

Diana

Thanks for the wonderful recap Sara!

Isabella drunk was the best part for me. She was hilarious.

Fac will give a man 50 million pesos but doesn't like when same man kisses his wife's hand? Weird

I like Beto and Rocio too.

Jacinto story line was painful to watch. I wish Susana had more story.

I was hoping that Santiago would turn out to be a somewhat decent guy, just really desperate and crazy bec of his impending bankruptcy. But him stroking the leg of ? what's her name?, was disgusting. So I guess no redemption.

Who else has trouble watching anything on hulu? It seems that two minutes plays, then it gets stuck and acts like it needs to load. Considering who founded that site this is not acceptable.

The EXACT same thought ran through my head!!

And I'm hoping for more Susana in the future, too!!

Diana-I want to know about Rocio and Feli, too. There are a lot of plot seeds being planted right now. It really keeps me coming back. (And thank you for you kind words.)

Carvivlie mentioned another one: Up to this point Santi has been more of a funny villain, but it was pretty skeevy watching him bust moves on Estefy(Nora Salinas). So maybe he's a lot slimier than we all thought.

Did anyone else feel like Estefy was kind of lying about her life? Or am I just not a trusting person.

UA-I had to watch several episodes on Hulu last week and didn't have any issues. Maybe they are just updating things? I hope things get fixed during the day. I would like to hear your thoughts on the episode.

Carvivlie, yes, after I understood what happened with Jacinto (thanks to Sara), it was hard to watch. The kid is adorable.

Sara, I'm not sure yet what Estefy's deal is. I warrant she is up to no good though and suspect Santi may soon stray (IMO only, no spoiler).

Diana

The show seems to have lasted HEFDM!
ROFLOL good one! i have to admit DZ is not 'moving' me as much as PF did. (whenever i catch some of it that is)

Ay Marta! I love Pedro so much. I'm glad I didn't see HEFDM and get attached to him. I would have probably quit after the cast change.

I love Pedro so much that I've done something I swore I would never do: Watch a reality talent show. I'm totally addicted to La Voz Kids and the only reason I started watching was for Pedro.

Pedro Fernández quitting almost made me quit HEFDM but the Caray connection kept me watching. It was as if this leading man role had been written just for him. David Zepeda his replacement is very good but he is no Pedro. In that way I feel sorry for David Zepeda. We still have several weeks left.

Jarifa

Diana: Don't worry about spoiler bec in the intro there is a scene of Santiago and Estefy in the tub together. I thought at first it was Isa but I'm pretty sure it's Estefy. So we know he will be a cheating a-- pretty soon.

Interesting article (in English) about what EY has to say about the censoring:

http://www.latintimes.com/eduardo-yanez-lashes-out-univision-amores-con-trampa-star-upset-over-scene-censorship-307044

I wonder if it will indeed drive ratings down.

"So we know he will be a cheating a-- pretty soon."

As long as he doesn't become to dark...or a murdering a--!

Jarifa-I confess I peek at the HEFDM thread once in a while and I've noticed the comments about getting more drama. Glad the story is picking up for you guys!

Sara, thanks to the link. Enjoyed the article. Not to mention the picture. Sigh.

Carvivlie, I did that that might have been her in the tub with Santi but wasn't sure!

Diana

Sara, thanks for last night's highlights. Also, thanks for the link to the EY interview.

Univision, take a look at the goings-on airing on other non-pay TV shows in the U.S. You have no reason to censor ACT. Save yourself some time and money.

I'm enjoying this silly show, but I couldn't take Maria yelling at Jacinto. He's the youngest of four, and after 20 years of raising kids you'd think she'd know better than to let some expert spook her about Jacinto. But I did like that Susana was the only one not spooked.

Still scratching my head about why Facundo dropped 50 million pesos cash on Santiago without even getting a receipt. Everytime he says "Facundo Carmona is no dummy" I bust out laughing. I'm waiting for Maria to slap him up side the head one day.

Thanks, Niecie! It is so disheartening that Univision does so much editing.

It is a silly show, isn't it?

I didn't like the Jacinto stuff at all. I hope we are done with that for a while.

And please, Facundo...back up your claim of not being a dummy with some not dumb action!

And 50 million pesos is about 3 million? He was only paid 10 million wasn't he?

I totally agree. That was beyond stupid.

As to Estefania, I'm sure we'll be seeing some hanky-panky with her and Santiago very shortly.

Urban-Did hulu straighten itself out?

My issue with the Jacinto story is that he is just smart. There has been no other evidence of psychopathic behavior. Jeez...he's NICE to animals!

Sara, thanks for the link. I like the fact that EY is so vocal. It almost seems that Uni doesn't know who their aidience is. Strange.

Jarifa

My video problem is resolved for the moment.

The idea that Facundo and Maria could think Jacinto has the potential for becoming a sociopath is insane. Who thought of that one?

The Jacinto thing is meant to be funny, but I'm still fine tuning the beanie for comedy. I'm trusting Jarifa's advice that it was just meant to be silly for the schtick.

as long as they don't have Jacinto count toothpicks out of a box or queens out of a deck of cards i will be fine. having kids with special needs i know how easily they might be misunderstood and bullied... but those who take the time to get to know them become their friends for life.

Ah! That's it Marta!!! Right now it looks as if they are saying "kids with special needs should be feared." I hope that the message becomes a little clearer.

Or I might be taking things too seriously?

I want someone to put the red-headed bullies in their place. THEY are in the wrong. I didn't like that Susana was told not to defend Jacinto because it would make things worse for him. Susana has every right to defend her brother and Andres and Alejandra should be standing up to the bullies, too.

Sara, thanks as always for providing the recaps and this bullet recap. I need them to fully understand what's going on. Gracias.

And for the link to the Latin Times. I think the author is into this blog as he pretty much mentions what's been stated by expressing similar views on senseless censorship. Anyway, good to have an ally.

And I liked the photo of EY, still handsome!

GinCA

Thanks GinCA! And it's not just censorship I can't stand, it's the stupid editing to get done faster, too!

I'm pretty sure UA has done a weekend discussion on censorship and that we ALL hate it.

Are you listening Uni?

censorship is indeed stupid, as well as people posting disguised palabras malas ie a$$, it is ass, why try to be so delicate?

I do keep seeing a censored 4 letter c word.
caca - shit
culo - ass
Coger - in some form
coño - ok, even I will let that one go

Vario- I think our patio may be small... But I think people are still interested.

I'm watching right now. AZ is just wonderful. Age difference be damned. She's killing it.

In the words of Sebastion Dangerfield, shi$$ is shi$$ even on judgement day. Shit is shit even on judgement day.

A new post is up with a full recap for Wednesday's episode.
