Capítulo #48 6/3/15 A Reconciliation Under a Dark Cloud

Part 1

Tag team time!!' I will pick up right where Sara left off. "Feli aks if Ale is Esteban's" daughter. Santiago is mortified that Alejandra might not be his daughter but Esteban's. How could Isabel do that to him? Isabel's concern is that Felipe and Rocío did not ask her anout Alejandra in private. Felipe has a full blown panic attack. Isabel says he needs some anxiety meds. She calls for Conchita.

At the same time Alejandra is sweetly dreaming about the nice boy she met. In the dream he asks if he can come by her house to tell her something important if she is going to be home. She says she will be.

Conchita asks Santiago if he now feels better as she hands him a cup of tea. He is seated and disheveled.She softly tells him that his secret is safe with her. He wants to know what she is talking about. Isabel tells her to leave the living room. She tells Isabel she doesn't have a heart. Santiago asks Isabel if it is true that Alejandra is not his daughter. She tells him if he believes that, it is his problem. She is a decent woman. Santiago sits and sobs telling her he does not believe her one bit so he is insisting that there be a DNA test done tomorrow. Isabel will do what is necessary to clear her name so she will get busy and look for a lab to do the test. Santiago does tell her that Alejandra should never find out about ts. She could not handle it. Isabel insists Alejandra is his daughter.

It is the next day and at the Carmona's the whole family is eating breakfast and actively ignoring Hilda as she is truing to say good bye. They all turn her back to her no matter how she tries to address them. Anytime she talks, Granpappy Porfirio asks Granny Perpétua if she heard something and she says she didn't. It was only he who heard it. Finally Granny says it must be a skull calling Grandpappy to take him to the other world. He says let's hope not because if it is, he will come back to drag her with him by her feet. They continue ignoring Hilda and joking. Finally María goes to say goodbye to Hilda and gives her some food for her journey even though she behaved very badly. Hilda's parting gift to María is that María needs to keep an eye on Isabel. She saw her going into the office building when only Facundo was there.

At the Velasco's, Alejandra wants to know why they are going to the clinic. Santiago tells her that her health is important and it is just for a checkup. Rocío and Felipe try to calm her fears about getting blood drawn. Isabel says she can't take their lying and tells Alejandra the truth that Santiago does not believe she is his daughter. Alejandra is upset. Isabel is done with the lies and she will never forgive Santiago.

Part 2

The world of Estefany: she is in a bubble bath and then getting a massage thinking about how she is officially working for Facundo and the look he is going to have on his face when he sees her. Isabel isn't smart, but she is. She has it all to separate Facundo from his boring little wife and end up with him.

Beto drops by the shop to see Rocío and to tell her that Hilda has left town. He wants to know how she is doing. She says her family is going from bad to worse and tells him about the DNA test. She is worried about her uncle Santiago and Alejandra if it turns out that Alejandra is Esteban's daughter. She is worried Alejandra could end up with emotional problems like her. Beto tries to support her the best he can. They will have the results tomorrow

Santiago, Alejandra and Isabel return to the house after the lab appointment. Santiago tells Alejandra how much he loves her. Santiago says now they only have to wait for the results. Isabel says he does not have to wait because he can trust her to have told him the truth. He says he has plenty of reasons not to trust her after everything that has happened. Isabel says this was all an invention of that ordinary girl and crazy Esteban. Alejandra is Santiago's daughter. The only thing she hopes is that when he finds out the truth that Alejandra does not forgive him as she is not going to forgive him. He is going to beg her (Isabel) for forgiveness on his knees for having put her through this. He says it is important to him that he gets rid of any doubts he has. She says that the DNA test experience is just Pitting more distance between them. He is just causing her to hate him. He does not want to argue anymore but he wants her to know thati if Alejandra is the daughter of Esteban, he will hurt her where it hurts the most and see to it that she ends up on the street. He asks if she heard him. She answers with a "yes, sir."

Facundo is sitting at his desk at work playing with two little statues: one is a pig and the other a rooster. He is making them talk to each other like a little kid. Esteban comes in and he covers them with his hat. Facundo asks him about what he said to Hilda and the whole paternity issue. Esteban says he probably should not have said what he did but that is a private manner amd the family is handling it. He has his letter of resignation for Facundo but Facundo does not accept it. He tells him to stay away from gossip; it is an old lady thing.

At the Velasco's, Framcis is till husterically wondering how Nicolasa won as Felipe is studying on his tablet. She is mas he is not paying attention to her. He tells her his family is having a lot of problems, he has to pass this subject, he has to work at the pizzeria and go to work with his dad on Monday. She lost Nicolasa and has nobody to talk to. Felipe says she did lose one of her two friends so she should call Jessica and leave him alone. She only wants to know who he voted for: her or Nicolasa. He says neither. He voted for Carmen. He tells her why: Carmen is the exact opposite of what Francis is and that is why he fell in love with Carmen. He could never fall in love with Francis again. He is in love with Carmen.
 

Part 3

Carmen is outside of her house washing ner car when Diego stops by to see her. He brought her a crown of her own because she is his only queen. They end up fooling arounf with the garden hose but then Francis arrives on the scene screaming at Carmen. She calls her a damned rancher, stanky amd a pig!!! Felipe tries to get Francis to leave but she has news for Carmen: Felipe is in love with her (Carmen) )which Felipe comfirms. Diego tells him to stop bothering Carmen. Carmen says he is not bothering her at all. She looks happy. Diego tells Framcis to go. Francis tells Carmen she is going to pay for this. Diego expects that Carmen is not going to want to go out with him.He tells her that Rocio just broke up with him and he is not going to start anything with her if she is going to do the same thing. Carmen looks sad.

Alejandra crying calls Susana. She is so upset,. It seems her dad is not her dad. She misses her so much and only wants to be with her. The phone call ends and Susana goes to talk to her mother in her room. María gives her the same old same old about there being such bad problems among the adults it is best for the kids to stay away from each other. She had better forget about that friendship. Susana has the best question: then why can Rocío and Beto be together? María skates around that one, too. María asks what does she need girl friends for anyway. Look at her, she doesn't have any. ( jarifa's comment: maybe that is why maría is in the muddle she is). Better to look after Margarito who is like her son. Susana tells her it is not the same. Facundo comes in and wants to talk to María alone.

María wants to know what is going on. What kind of complaints does Facundo have for her now? He just came by to tell her how his day went and sits on one of the beds. He tells her all about Esteban and keeping him on. She asks him if he does not want to know any more about the Esteban paternity situation because it really doesn't matter to him or so he won't be more disppointed in Isabel. He tells her to stop that Isabel stuff. She asks him about her stopping by the office yesterday when he was the only one there. Is he denying that. Facundo tells her that Isabel was only looking for Santiago. Maríamdoes. Ot velieve it. She is jealous. She wasn't like this back in the country. She doesn't like how she feels. He tells her to forget about that Isabel. He only has eyes for her and other lovey dovey stuff like he has half a heart and she has the other half and it can only beat when both halves are together. They are reconciled. Kissy face time.

Seems like Hilda has not left for home yet because she turns up at the boutique where Rocío works just to harass her on the way out of town maybe--she might be leaving today, tomorrow or never. Her loud and rude ways scares off a customer. Rocío tells her that she robbed her of a customer. Rocío launches into the "you robbed me of my Beto" bit. To add insult to injury, she starts in about the whole Alejandra paternity issue. At that point, Rocío goes to physically throw her out of the store and they get into a scuffle. In the scuffle Hilda pulls out a hair from Rocío's head. Seems Hilda is goimg to have her grandma use the hair to put a bad spell on Rocío. She and Beto will never be happy together.
 

Part 4

María is happily cooking away in the kitchen with Granny. Granny wants to know why she is so happy. She tells Granny Facundo has finally forgiven her and they kissed, etc. Granny is not too sure what the real motivation was for Facundo to come around. Wasn't it strange that just when they found out that gossip about Isabel with Esteban being Alejandra's father that Facundo decided to forgive María? When men act so flatteringly it is usually because they did something wrong and it is on their conscience. If it is all above board, Granny is happy for María, but she should watch out if Facundo starts bringing her little gifts or doing things to lift her spirits. That would mean he is up to no good. María looks worried.

Facundo arrives by horse to visit Isabel in a park. Sne wanted him to come. She told him it was urgent. She wants to give him her version of the whole paternity issue and that it should not be an issue because Santiago is Alejandra's father. He tells her he really does. not care. He and María are back together. He wants to be and needs to be with his family and María. She should fix things with her husband. According to him there was never anything between them. She says she knows he and María love each other but she also knows that he felt things with her in that one kiss that he never felt before in his whole married life. She walks away.

The rooster amd the horse are talking. The rooster wants to know where the horse Facundo took his namesake Facundo. They went to see doña Chabela (Isabel). They were talking and Isabel told him their kiss was real good. The rooster does not like what he is hearing at all so he will be bothering her at 5:00 in the morning. The horse says that their master told her to stop bothering him and to get lost but she is an insistent one with him.

Facundo wants to tell the whole family something. First of all he wants to apologize for how things have been and he tells them that he and María are getting along better. They are all happy. Susana says now Jacinto will stop wetting his pants. Jacinto goes into a talk on pants wetting and emotional trauma. Because of that experience he could end up a politician or even worse a telenovela director. The y all agree that the telenovela director would be the craziest. Anyway, what he really wants to tell them is that he wants to give María her anniversary party right there and invite all of their family and friends from the country. She tells him that he does not have to do all that. He says she deserves it all. Granny just smiles at María. María looks worried. Facundo even wants to invite Father Filemón (if he is still alive) who married them. Grandpappy wants to know if there will be a hard boiled egg to celebrate. Methuselah the baker and Methuselah the Biblical figure are items of discussion. Granny tells María that she told her so.
 

Part 5

Santiago is in his bedroom and Isabel comes in singing. . They bicker back and forth and Santiago says he is going to sleep in the living room.. To her that is a miracle. He goes back to the Esteban thing. He heard her say to Esteban that she had something to do with him. She said it was only a distraction. What he really wants to know is when her supposed romance with Esteban started to he can figure out if Alejandra is his or not. She just starts to cry saying his doubts hurt her and he leaves with his blanket.

Granpappy runs into Conchita and is at his dirty old man best talking about sucking on mangos. He just wanted to greet her. He hadn't seen her in a while. She says she tries to avoid him, hide from him. He is sad. She says she is sad because the only guy that notices her is him. For him that is better because he has no competition. Has she made breakfast? Did she make eggs with pasilla pepper sauce? No, she made hot cakes. She explains bread with honey. He thinks that is real sweet just like her. He says he wants to "probarla" try her/it. She immediately says "what ?"so we know what translation went through her head. He "corrects" himself and says he wants to try the hotcakes with honey. She says she isn't making him any. He asks for a goodbye kiss, He doesn't get one. He says that is just how he likes them nice and rebellious and when they do fall, they fall hook line and sinker. Conchita is out of there in a huff. He just chuckles. .

It is the next day and Isabel, Santiago and Esteban are at the doctor's office to hear the results of the DNA test. The doctor has the results in an envelope and gives them to Santiago to read. Santiago takes out the results and looks at them. All he says is that it can't be! It can't be! Isabel wants to know what. He just stares.

So many things...

Isa was such a witch telling Ale why she was going to the clinic. She's a kid and really didn't need to know all those dirty details. Especially if it turns out Santi is her bio dad. Why did she feel the need to cause her daughter so much pain, just to hurt Santi?

Ale calling Susana broke my heart, and I'm mad at all of the adults for putting their pettiness above the happiness of these kids.

I was shocked how easily Facundo lied about Isa's office visit to Maria. Not even a guilty twitch of his moustache. Wow. He's lying as easily as Isa now.

Perpetua ticked me off, although she's completely right about Fac's motivations for making nice. But SHE'S the one who caused and encouraged Maria to stay with Fac, so what does she want? Would she prefer for Maria to constantly be bitter and jealous, or be blissfully and happily ignorant? It's got to be one or the other, or she has to make some radical changes in her marriage or marital status.
 

Vivi, I so agree with all if your points. Isabel is such a mean person. One cannot use the excuse that she is just that way with Rocío. I felt so sorry for María. No happiness for her. As long as Isabel is around, it seems like somebody will always remind her about all if the unsavory possibilities. Granny Perpétua is far from being one if my favorites. Yes, Facundo has turned into being a skilled liar when Isabel is involved.

I only watched half the episode last night, but I can't wait to watch the rest. More talking animals. Woo hoo!

And being a TN director is the craziest career? That's funny.

I agree about Isa and Ale, too. There was no reason to tell her what was going on. I feel like Isa wants to be cruel. I don't buy her saying she wants to be good.

Fac tells her he needs to be with his wife. What does Isa do? She refuses to give up. She's dead to me.
 

My thoughts on last night:

María was not allowed any happiness with her reconciliation due to Perpétua.

Sad to say, María better not get too happy with Facundo with him galloping off to see Isabel because she said it was "urgent". One certainly gets the feeling that the Isabel/Facundo entanglement is not over no matter what he says. He should have hung up on her. He never should have gone. Isabel sounds like a teenager with her "you felt something" line of crappola.

I don't like Hilda but did enjoy the introduction of goofy witchcraft and spells into the mix. All that just to pull a hair out of Rocío's head. Very funny.

I loved the horse Facundo bringing the rooster up to date. It was great that the rooster actually has a plan to retaliate against Isabel. Also loved Facundi okaying with the pig and rooster figures on his desk.

Looks like Carmen finally has what she wants: Felipe. How long will she try to hang on to Diego, too?

Granpappy and Conchita were priceless as a comedy act. At points in their conversation she did not look as disgusted by the old goat as she could have been but sure bolted when she had the chance. Guess we know why Facundo is like he is.

I got to see Facundo playing with the statues and it was funny.

I'm not real happy with the Carmen storyline either. I'm trying to tell myself that this is the first time she's had so much attention from boys, but that doesn't really excuse her behavior. She's being very egocentric and Diego is getting the shift. And even more frustrating is that I see more chemistry with her and Diego.
 

Um. Diego is getting the shaft. Thanks, tablet.

And the rooster gets major cool points for planning to get back at Isa.
 

Sara, Carmen is not turning out like I thought she would at all. She seems to want both of them. Sort of hard to do with one professing his love and the other wanting her for his official "girlfriend". Too bad she fell so fast for "Feli". With so little experience it would have been nice for her to date several guys.

As you have called it before, I will wonder what kind of disaster will happen at the anniversary party. Since they are inviting everybody, will Hilda have an excuse to return? Will the Velasco's just happen on by? Can't wait!

I'm intrigued that they want to invite all the country people. I hope it's a chance to get a new country character or two in the city. Of course, I would be thrilled if Tía Humilde came for an extended visit. I seem to have fixated on her.

Oooo.... I wonder if Florencio is still around and if Fac will invite him. But I don't think Fac would do that. Never mind.
 

Like the Florencio possibility. I had not thought of that. Maybe it will be a blanket type of invite and Florencio could just meander on by.

I love the words we come up with to describe Fac: knucklehead, dunderhead doofus.

I find them very telling. He's machista and flirty, but he is just plain stupid about women. It doesn't make me less mad at him. I don't hate him like a do Isa.
 

A. The high point of the show was the horse and rooster comparing notes. So do all talking horses take their rider's name? I don't believe Mr. Ed's owner was named Edward.
B. I hope and pray that Alex is Estaban's daughter. Isabel and Santi are both so loathsome and the damage is already done to the poor child.
 

I saw the cast list and saw who will play Florencio, so I'm excited. Looking forward to seeing how he shakes things up when he finally appears.
 

Kirby- Esteban is pretty loathsome too, and at least Santi is a loving and caring father. I'm hoping he is the bio-dad. Otherwise, just too much hurt for Ale.
 

HAHAHAHA! Edward and Mr Ed. Facundo and Mr Fac. One is a horse. The other a horse's patootie! Thanks for the laugh, Kirby.

I have to go with Vivi. Santi is a jerk, but he loves those kids. Esteban is just too selfish to me.

On closer examination. the yardbird planning revenge on Isa appears to be a non-crowing HEN. Not enough comb for a rooster and the wattles nonexistant. Casting !........

Jarifa, an absolutely fabulous recap. Each summary is like a short story, peppered with sharp observations. you write so well.

I'm sad to read that Facundo seems to be ensnared by Isa. I was appalled Isa would tell her daughter why they were going to the clinic (like you and others Vivi) and so sad that she cannot see Susana to commiserate with.

Sara, I did smile when I read the rooster will awaken Isa extra early. Very funny (oh and well deserved).

"One certainly gets the feeling that the Isabel/Facundo entanglement is not over no matter what he says". I'm sorry to hear that but I am taking heart in the fact nothing has really happened. Let's hope Facundo comes to his chauvinist senses before it does.

Thanks Jarifa!!!!! Love these recaps because the talk all goes too fast for me!! But I like that this show moves at a good pace.

Curious to me with all the DNA talk is why Hilda wanted a few strands of Rocio's hair. I don't believe for a minute it's for Hilda's gmother to put a spell on Rocio. I think she has other dastardly deeds up her sleeve.
 

Diana, I am so with you hoping Facundo comes around to his senses before something really happens. I would hate to see María hurt again by the same old same old Isabel liaison (she has warned him about for so long) taken to the next level.

The same thought popped into my head too, Anon1046. So many things to wonder about!

Isn't it wonderful to have Jarifa and Marta to recap for us? I am often lost with the rapid Spanish and idioms and expressions. I have to use the Spanish captions when I recap, but I don't need them if I read a Jarifa or Marta recap beforehand. I am very grateful to them.
 

Jarifa thanks for the recap very detailed i can't believe isa told ale that it seems like isa doesn't even care that she is hurting ale just to hurt santi poor ale wanting to see Susana and can't because the adults can't seem to understand that it isn't the kids fault and i hope ale is santis because santi can be a swindler but he does love all the kids not like isa i think Carmen and Diego have more chemistry as well i still think Carmen should give Diego a real chance and the rooster plotting revenge on isa awesome Hilda is just plain crazy
 

Eva- I feel like Isa want everyone miserable. She can't be happy, so no one can.

With Hilda talking about witchcraft and spells and a party with all the country folk in attendance, I fear Hilda will still be around for a few more episodes.
 

I forgot to mention earlier how sorry I felt for Sanit when they came back from the clinic. He just kept telling Ale over and over how much he loved her. He hates to see her hurting.

Santi is a snake, but if Isa can't see how much he loves her the kids she's an idiot. I really hate to see her browbeating him and calling him a loser.

Two quick comments while I think about what else I want to say ;)

Two funniest bits: Fac "helping" Maria make the bed and Conchita startled by Porfirio and shouting "Chupacabra!"

So I'm watching the rest now.

Perpetua confuses me. She's been telling Maria for days to make up with Fac and to understand that men are flirts. Then when Maria and Fac make up, she turns around and plants seeds of doubt? Someone help me understand.

And the scene where Fac meets Isa in the park... Why is it playing out like Isa is somehow the wronged party. Or that it is bittersweet romance? (I'm thinking about the music.) I feel no pity for Isa and I'm a little annoyed that it feels like the writers want me to.
 

I felt sorry for Hilda when everyone ignored her. That lasted until she turned up to harass Rocio. The first thing I thought about the hair thing was DNA. But how would she pull it off? I’m not going to explain this very well, but I think that Hilda is worse than a typical TN villain. Those villains are BSC and when they hurt people. They like doing it, but it comes from a crazy place. Hilda just does it for kicks. Can’t stand her. She’s the one sour note in this TN for me (even Isa is sympathetic at times—though not at the moment, what a B for telling Ale that Santi thinks she isn’t his). I may have to fast forward during H’s scenes.

Oh, and did Hilda call Maria Suegra?

No way Estefany has a chance with Fac. But it might be fun to see her try.

Don’t care if the adults are having problems, the kids should not have to cut ties with each other. Susana is a big one for respect for parental authority, but I would like to see her go against their wishes and still see Ale.

Fac is having a mid-life crisis. Isa is just unhappy in her marriage, even though Santi—at least at the beginning of the TN was totally devoted to her. What does Isa expect will happen if she gets Fac? He will rule the roost and tell her what to do. Maybe that’s what she wanted from Santi—for him to stop giving always giving in to her and to stand up to her. And of course, Isa isn’t thinking about the seven kids whose lives she will destroy by going after Fac.

Can’t stand characters that have affairs then not only lie about it, but act injured because their spouse suspects them. Or makes out that the other person is crazy for thinking they’re having an affair.

Sara: agree with you that Carmen has more chemistry with Diego. Maybe a new and improved Nic for Feli?

Maybe the hen was going to strut her stuff and get the rooster all excited so that he would crow even louder.

Don’t know the actor who plays Florencio but like his looks.

Hilda has definitely lost her charm. She just likes to stir stuff up and it doesn't look like she'll be leaving any time soon. When she said she wasn't leaving- where does she intend to stay?
 

Here's what's impressing me about this show - we are fifty episodes in and I still feel like it's new every day. The new characters they show us are seamlessly integrated without feeling like a gimmick. I hope the keep that up with Florencio.

Uh, yeah, Isabel. It’s called the titillation of “illicit sex.” No matter what he does with Maria, it won’t be “illicit.” (Unless maybe Maria dons a blond wig.) So you’ve got it over Maria on that. Next!

I felt the rooster was a stand-in for Viewerville. Loved his attitude – lol! Hope we see more confabs between the rooster and Facundo the horse.

Hilda earned her persona non grata, but I found her sweet when she warned Maria about Isa visiting Facundo alone in his office. One home girl in the big city trying to help out another home girl.

As much as I detest Isa, she has been honest with her intentions toward Facundo, to him, Maria, and Santi. Facundo sure can’t say he was blind-sided. I’m at least glad Maria is aware that Facundo isn’t really shutting down Isa.
 

Niecie: "I found her sweet when she warned Maria about Isa visiting Facundo alone in his office. One home girl in the big city trying to help out another home girl."--I couldn't tell if she was sincere or trying to make trouble.

"I’m at least glad Maria is aware that Facundo isn’t really shutting down Isa."--so am I. Maria needs to start being a little more proactive and I don't mean beating on Isa.

ITA Vivi with everything you said. I couldn't believe that Isa would inflict that kind of pain on her daughter. All about "no more lies" when she is lying to Santi abt her relationship with Esteban and lying to Rocio about something.

I think Ale is Santi's daughter. He probably couldn't believe that Isa was telling the truth for once.

Anon, I too thought Hilda pulling Rocio's hair had something to do with DNA but what doubts could she be under? And how would she pay for a DNA test? Still, think you may be on to something.

What is Perpetua trying to do to her daughter? She wants her to forgive him for adultery bec that's what men do and now bec Fac is treating her well it must be bec he is up to no good. He still sees nothing wrong in his continued actions with Isa.

Capítulo #49 6/4/15 María and Isabel Both Lose It

Part 1

We are back in the doctor's office where Santiago is looking at the DNA results and it turns out that Alejandra is his after all. He is so happy he has turned into a blubbering mess. All Isabel cares about is him apologizing to her and all the kids.

At the Carmona house, María is cleaning with Granny Perpétua. Granpappy Porfirio is going to get out of their way. He is off to look for hardboiled eggs. Granny says he should be careful so he doesn't hurt himself eating so many. Granpappy asks: How are they going to hurt him? they are very good; especially his; he clarifies the eggs "he eats." (That was a joke, just in case you didn't hear the trumpet) Carmen comes in with the fresh milk and wants her mom to come to the gym at 2:00 with her. María and Granny make up all kinds of excuses like housework is enough excercise but Carmen convinces María by telling her that by going to gym she will be getting herself looking good for the anniversary party. Carmen said she would help her get everything ready and she wants her to look her prettiest. Granny tells María to go but if María is going to be away from the home; she will be needing help around the house. Carmen has already thought about that.

The Velasco's have arrived back home and Isabel is still incensed that Santiago ever doubted her. Santiago apologizes to the whole family but that is not good enough for Isabel. She insists that he apologize on his knees to her because he doubted her dignity and integrity. According to Isabel she is the only one in the family who does not need to apologize for anything. So sobbing on his knees Santiago apologizes to Isabel. She does not want to hear anymore about a divorce. He promises her he won't bring it up again.

Isabel is at Dr. Mireya's office for a therapy session. Isabel talks about what a difficult time she is having so the doctor tells her to increase the dosage of the medicine (drops in a bottle) that she is taking to calm down. She is supposed to dissolve the drops in a glass of water but Isabel just guzzles them straight from the bottle. Isabel says it is just what she needs because her life is getting out of control. The doctor thinks if only Isabel knew that the medication is just going to to rev her up more to the point that she will think she is crazy. She is acting goofy already

At the Velasco's, the family is at the dinner table and Conchita is telling them she is going to work somewhere else because she cannot count on them anymore to defend her integrity She is crying as she tries to explain herself. Santiago thinks that it is because Granpappy insulted her and he cannot do anything about it. (The real reason probably has to do with her making money). Rocío starts saying something like if the problem is Grandpappy then why . . .? (Is she going to work for the Carmona's?). They all cheer for her. It seems that her new job will take her out of the house for the day but she will come back to the Velasco's to sleep.

Susana is talking to the cow about not giving as much milk as she used to because she isn't as calm as she was in the country. She will get adjusted to,the city.
 

Part 2

Santiago is now telling Conchita that there is no problem with her coming back to sleep there at night. They love her. She keeps crying. She left them some food. She is going to go but will be back to sleep. Everyone seems perplexed including Conchita. They go to sit down at the table to eat the food Conchita left and Isabel wants to know if any of them know where is the other house where she is going to work. Nobody says or knows. They all start to eat.

Conchita is crying over at the Carmona's saying that she is there out of necessity accepting a job at Granpappy the flirt's house. She wants them to all know that she is a decent woman and she needs to be treated with respect. Granpappy gets up,and says that if she has his hardboiled eggs cooked, his milk nice and luke warm, his pasilla chile sauce, and his chicharrón with guacamole, there will be no problems. Isn't he going to want his lemon ice? That is not a bad idea is his response as he calls her his little piece of cake. María is happy when she finds out that she can cook. María clarifies that Comchita is still going to have a realtionship with the Velasco's in the afternoons and she will be sleeping there. She left the Velasco's because they couldn't protect her from the stalking of Granpappy. María is one big ???? So, all Conchita is asking is that he respect her. Granny says not to worry. She will keep him on a short leash. Granpappy says that she isn't even his wife. Suddenly Conchita smiles and asks where the cleaning supplies are. Looks like Carmen did her job getting the extra help. Carmen says now they can be nice and calm when they go to the gym.

At the Velasco's, Isabel is not happy that Santiago let Conchita go work for the Carmona's and she does not like the food Conchita left behind. Conchita left them because of Granpappy but it working there. Makes no sense. Santiago says she will be back. Rocío says they can all help out around the house. Isabel says that she raised them to be the waited on; not to be those who wait on others. Isabel decides to go out to eat. The others stay at home happy with the food Conchita left them.

María and Facundo are in their bedroom making a list of guests for the shindig. It seems like they are inviting everybody even the Amarrita cousins who sound llike thieves. Facundo says if they take anything, they can always buy a replacement for what is stolen.. Facundo is brushing María's hair. She says she is off to the girls room to sleep but he talks her into staying with him. He tells her they will never be separated again.

The rooster is crowing and Isabel is doing her best "qui qui ri quí" rooster imitation. Conchita brings her her breakfast. Isabel calls her a traitor and has her try the juice to make sure it isn't poisoned. Conchita says it is just as bitter as Isabel (asked for). Isabel wants to know why she went to wiork for the Carmona's. Conchita sais she already explained. Isabel does not believe her and thinks it all came down to money. Isabel then asks Conchita why the Carmona's need extra help. Conchita tells her about the anniversary party and vow renewal Facundo and María are going to have. She goes on to say how in love they look and what a cute couple they are for being from the country and all. Isabel is not a happy camper amd wants to be alone.
 

Part 3

Outside doing their chores, Granny notices how happy María looks now that things are right between her and Facundo. Granny notices Granpappy is not out and about looking for the biggest eggs.

Grandpappy is having a nightmare where a woman is telling him, Porfirio, that she is leaving. She is not taking any more (jarifa asks:of his crap???) she's leaving and he will never see them again. He awakens with a start. He says that there are secrets and no matter how much you want to forget them but that is not possible . . . they just hurt you, torment you. Some secrets are better taken to the tomb.

Francis is still hysterical and moaning to her friends about Nicolasa winning the contest. Francis calls it betrayal amd in her book, betrayal is paid with blood.

Estefany comes to the office to see Santiago. He still does not know what her angle is for coming to work with him. He had nightmares about her over the weekend. She wants to know if she was wearing regular clothes or lingerie. He says both. He says she is is a woman of the world with her little devil horns, she manages, exports, imports all sorts of merchandise so what in the h*ll is she doing there? Why is she with a failed empresario being paid a miserable amount from his miserable salary? What is a succesfaul woman like her doing there when he is launching his own revenge?

Back with the bad girls, Jessica tells Francis to take it down a notch because she is being very aggressive. Nicolasa is crying. Francis is cutting off their mega friendship today! Carmen nas witnessed it all and goes over to ask how Nicolasa is. The girls are nasty to Carmen jntil she congratulates Nicolasa and tells her that the right girl won the contest.

Facundo is leaving for work with a smile on his face and gets in his SUV. He does not get very far because Isabel is standing in the way drinkng her drops. He gets out and asks her if she has gone crazy. She is crazy in love. She says she has found out, that he knows how to hurt her and enjoys it. He wants to know what she has found out about. The vows!!! She calls him a coward. He feels the same way she does but instead of facing his feelings he would rather turn his back on her! On her! Doesn't he know how much she loves him? Really loves him? Facundo tries to quiet and calm her down but María has been listening and watching so she comes over lto see what the matter is just as Isabel is telling Facundo to recognize he is in love with her. María wants to know why he is talking about feelings with that skinny thing. ( jarifa: a lot of us are wondering the same thing)
 

Part 4

Back at the office, Estefany is laying it on thick telling Santiago she wants to be at his side his accomplice to help him finish off that dog rider Facundo. She tells him that he cannot let that farmer Facundo humilliate him. That is why she is there to defend him and help him. He teases her about being able to defend him after taking her "air box "classes. She thinks her real value would be being an extra set of eyes and ears to keep tabs on what Facundo is doing. She starts making fun of that ugly name "Facundo". She could be like a detective as he regains his company. He says she is going to be like a dog: a German shepherd. He thanks her and admits for a moment he thought she was there for . . . She finishes his sentence that smelly nopal cactus of a peasant, ie, Facundo. He is not for her. She only has eyes for Santiago and when he gets his divorce they can have children and be happy forever. Estefany thinks that with Santiago's child, she will be able to tie up all the money he has. Santiago thinks after he has all of her money he will think about whether he will keep her as a lover or not. They kiss.

Out in the driveway, María is asking Facundo to clarify what is being said. Isabel wants him to clarify it, too. Facundomwants to talk to María inside there own house. Isabel says sure, do what you do: lie to her. He does not get why Isabel just keeps throwing fuel on the fire. María says no, she is staying right there to get everything clarified. María wants to know why she keeps bothering Facundo. María grabs Isabel and whips her back and forth like a rag doll. The problem is when María takes her hands off Isabel, Isabel just keeps moving anyway. Facundo has to pull María off of Isabel. Isabel says she is not bothering Facundo, she is opening his yes. Facundo keeps trying to hide behind María. She tells María that Facundo feels. Othing for her. Why is he having the party? Just to tey to convimce himself that he still loves you. But that is not true. Facundo has to get María away from Isabel. They do the old pinwheel twirl with Facundo. As she continues to rant, fiinally the Carmona's go inside.

Isabel is crying next to her pool talking to herself about how she feels about Facundo and thinking that the ducks were sent by María as spies.

Maríamand Facundomare home and María is fit to be tied. Facundo tells her just to kg ore Isabel because she likes to,start things, aría seems to think that Facundo gave her some motivation for her to act like she is actomg. She asks him if he ever KISSED Isabel. Facundo says of course not. He did nothing woth her. He only has eyes for María. She knows that is what he says vut she does not know what to think. Facundo tells her that Isabel is just jealous of them, María does not believe that. It seems very strange to her.. Facundo says sometimes she seems to be not right in the head.. María tells him all the more reason to stay away from ner but Facundo keeps talking to her. Facundo insists that it is Isabel who is the instigator, not him. Next time she is in front of his vehicle, he just should run her over says María. She also says she islosing her patience

Dr. Mireya is talking to a man I am supposing is Esteban ???telling him that Isabela should be way out of control like a crazy woman and that his wish is her command.

Isabel and Frederick are meditating and getting a massage and gossiping. They seem to have different goals. Isabel is drinkkng away but she is there for a detox? Water does not quite do it for her. Water washes away bridges and roads, what will it do to her intestines Of course it all revolves around Facundo.


 

Part 5

Estefany is waiting for Facundo in his office. He asks what she does there at the company. She says she is Santiago's new assistant. Facundo tells her she is not going to be working there and goes to see Santiago. After finally identifying her since Facundo can never remember her name, Santiago just smiles and tells Facundo that he knows that he likes her and that María is not going to like that one bit.

I liked:

the confrontation between Isabel/Facundo/María and that María is not being too quick to exonerate Facundo. She smells a rat and she knows it.

Estefany and Santiago both faking each other out. Santiago also knows when he smells a rat.

that Granpappy is a more dimensional character than just a dirty old man with bad jokes. Will we ever find out the rest if his story? Sure hope so.


I didn't like:

Isabel making Santiago kneel to apologize. How many times have I said that I cannot stand her? Well, I can't.

The whole Conchita going to work for the Carmona's subplot. That really was goofy.

I'm wondering if the disaster to hit the party--since no party in this TN is complete without one--is Isa takes her crazy drops, crashes the party and tells everyone that Fac has been meeting her and they've kissed. I Think Maria is at the point where shes going to believe it.

I think this is the missing link to Rocio and Felipe's parentage. It seems most of the characters are outswindling (is that a word?) each other.

Most tn's have a few (many) ridiculous subplots, but for the life of me I do not understand that whole Conchita scene and why they spent so much time on it.

Agree that if the psychiatrist was talking to Esteban, then we would have seen his face. Maybe it's Feli's and Rocio's father.

Could we be seeing a former girlfriend of Porfirio's turn up or possibly his wife isn't dead?

Carmen, thanks for getting your mother out of the house. I’m all on Maria’s side, but she has got to get out more without Facundo.

I don’t like Conchita reporting back to Isa about what happens in the Carmona’s household.

Facundo brushing Maria’s hair, kissing her very slowly, and all the rest – sexy sweet. But now that they’ve reconciled, it’ll be an even tougher blow for Maria when it hits the fan.

My guess is Isa’s crazy is not turning Facundo off. Even before the drops, she was telling him she would overcome anything to get with him and jumping on top of him. Being desired that badly by a “high-class, elegant lady” (his words earlier, not mine) must be quite a thrill for him, though terrifying too cause he doesn't want to hurt Maria.

Now, Maria is wrong to literally try to fight off Isa. But honestly if a woman was standing IN MY OWN DRIVEWAY! telling me my man wants her, I can’t see me not striking. Instead of flailing her though, I wish Maria had shot a waterhose on her. Then Facundo could see Isa with dripping makeup and flat hair. IMO, Maria’s fight isn’t just about her love for Facundo but also Isa’s abject disrespect right to her face.

I'm watching the scene now where Isa makes Santi apologize on his knees. I think this seals it for me. I don't think I can like Isa. The kids don't agree. Ale looks upset. Rocío hits the nail on the head when she asks why everyone has to pay (and with intetest) for every offense?
 

Because Niecie is right, the whole situation is because ISA cheated.

I have to say even with the characters we don't like, there's no "character bashing". The comments aren't mean spirited.
 

I think the situations are so real. As I watched the apology scene the thought popped into my head that Isa had already said she stopped loving Santi so why is she so bothered by divorce? And then I thought, we'll divorce is complicated it real life too. Human emotions are not as black and white as is often portrayed on TNs. I'm more likely to character bash a one dimensional stereotype (like Val on La Sombra) than someone like Isa. She is odious... But there's something more to her character and we don't know all the info.

Does that make sense?

Ugh. About all the stuff I said about Isa being dead to me a thought just occurred - Mireya is giving her drops to make her crazy. How much of this behavior is Isa and how much is the drops? And does everyone assume the change in behavior of due to the recent financial strains?
 

Sara, aside from the whole bucket of emotional issues and entanglements, I think Isabela puts the money or chance of more money that gives her her current standard of living and social position first. I cannot see her being able to get a job on her own that would give her that current standard of living. Can anybody aside from Facuuuuuundo offer her anything even close to what Santiago has provided? I feel bad for him that he is still so in love with her that he will agree to a loveless marriage.

Nanette, I wonder how long we will have to wait to see who was talking to Dr. Mireya. Is there more than one man that wants to see Isabel driven crazy? If that was not Esteban, then there is.

I am so ready for Florencio to shake things up. How long will we have to wait for the party?

Isa is a protaganista, yet the writers are making her out to be a nasty piece of work. Makes no sense unless the drops are what's making her do things that are so unlikable. The thing is: nobody in her family is acting too surprised at her behavior.
 

That worries me too. Everyone acts like her behavior is normal. No one has said "why are you acting so oddly?"
 

My guess is by the end of the TN Isa will have evolved to become likeable. But honestly I think Ale had her number in an early episode when she said Isa took her shopping with her just to hold her shopping bags. She's been a negligent mother from the start, letting Santi do the nurturing and she doesn't even give him credit for that.
