Sara, all I can say is WOW! What an intro! Thanks for your kindness and creativity, amiga. It is truly appreciated.

The recap will be up per usual.

Jarifa

Vivi totally inspired it with today's reference to Animal. :)

Oh! The shows aren't airing tomorrow. Note to self - fix dates and episode numbers.

RIP, Georgina.

No, Stefi, no! Go back to the light!

Looking forward to your recap, Jarifa!

Before starting the recap, please be aware that we are being pre-empted tomorrow night by "Premios Juventud".

Capítulo #78. "If Georgina Didn't Have a Name, She Would Have Been Fair Game"

Part 1

We start this episode with Isabel sadly thinking about how one of these days her family is goimg to have to know about her terrible secret and she just does not know whay to do about it.

Quickly we are back at the Math Olympiad where the Carmona's are impatiently waiting the results of Jacinto's competition outside the building. One by one they see students who have failed leaving the competition. The students are upset, throwing tantrums, etc. The good news is there is no sign of Jacinto. Granpappy Porfirio is hungry. Granny Perpétua broight him an egg. Carmen offers to get him something from the cafeteria. He wants a lollipop. Conchita offers him a mint. He just wants his lollipop. In the midst of the family gathering, Beto is sitting off by himself. María suggests that Facundo speak with him.

Back at Mireya's offices, Isabel pays the good doctora a visit. No therapy for her. Isabel is there to tell her that she did the right thing distancing herself from Santiago. Mireya didn't want to do it but she had to make up that she was married. She doesn't get it because Isabel doesn't care about him in the least. Isabel states he is her husband and they are about to have their 18th anniversary. She is going to let Mireya end up with him? Isabel thinks not. She hopes Mireya is alone forever for what she did to her. Samtiago loves her Isabel mad they have a daughter. Isabel's bottom line is if Mireya stays away from Santiago she won't file a complaint against her at the College of Psychiatry (licensing board) but if she does she'll be waving bye bye to her diploma.

Outside with the Carmona's, Facundo goes over to talk to Beto. Facundo knows he overdid it with him at the company. He wants Beto to know that his dad brought him up with a firm hand and the truth of the matter is that he has been very lenient with Beto and his siblings. He wants Beto to know that he is life itself for Facundo. They are part of each other. Facundo asks Beto to forgive him. Beto says there is othing to forgive. They hug but Facundo says that this does not mean that Beto has permission to see Rocío or get married to jer. Beto is just happy to recompile woth his dad and put that aside for now. María smiles in the background.

Part 2

At the boutique, Hilda has come to intimidate Rocío because nobody is around and María is not there to protect her. Hilda raises her fist to start to beat up Rocío. She is startled when Rocío grabs her arm and holds it. Rocío says she may be educated but that doesn't mean she will be letting her go. Hilda is the one who needs María there for protection each time she comes. Rocío says Hilda is not to take it out on her that Beto left her. Rocío tells her she really should go so she does not have to deal with her. Hilda tries to get away but Rocío won't let her go. Then Rocío recognizes a bracelet on Hilda's wrist as her own and yanks it off. She informs Hilda that if she dares to steal something from her again she will rip her hand off. Hilda is in a rush to get out of there.

At the competition, Jacinto comes outside to tell the family it is time to come inside because the winners are going to be announced.

Santiago comes to visit Rocío at the boutique. She is concerned he is staying with Esteban. He had nowhere else to go. She feels that Esteban is absolutely the wrong person for him to be staying with. He cannot be trusted. The truth is Santiago feels so down and alone. Esteban is closest thing he has as a friend at the present time. Hey, he's saving on rent! Esteban has been very good with him beccause of what he did to Santiago. Santiago concludes that they are both sick: co dependent the one on the other.

At the competition, it is results time and Jacinto has won first place. The Carmona's go crazy!!!! Even Margarito is there in Beto's arms to join in the celebration.

At the boutique, a very upset Santiago is telling Rocío about how empty he feels since Facundo took the company from him. Rocío tries to cheer him up. She tells him he will come back. He agrees: just like the phoenix. He then tells her a secret. He is in the final stages of opening his new company which will be in direct competition with the Carmona company. He is going to come back from the ashes as "Super Santi". He wants all of the kids to be proud of him again. She hopes he is going about it the right way with nothing crooked going on. When has he ever in his life done something crooked? Rocío warns him to be very careful around Esteban. Santiago tells her Esteban does have good movies.

Part 3

At the competition, Jacinto dedicates his win to Granpappy because he is the only one who has taught him everything. The press is there to interview Jacinto. A reporter asks about how he feels about having won first place? The "boy genius" responds that it is not important that he has won but he has the hope that other kids will be able to study like him bacause many do not have schools. He hopes they can get to study so they can have a future being good people.

The Carmona's arrive still celebrating and doing acrobatics at their house. They cheer about the leaders of love and family are the Carmona's. Carmen has put Jacinto's win on Facebook and he has six likes already. Granpappy has his "Harpo Marx" bicycle horn and is blowing it and asking about the the broth that Estefany has prepared for them. Estefany comes out to tell them it is ready. Facundo says last one in is ia goat. Granpappy adds now the first are the last.

At Esteban's apartment, Santiago is wrapped up in a blanket on his couch. Esteban has to leave. He asks Santiago to go with him. They will meet new people. Santiago declines and says Esteban will take him to a "bar of death" with 75 year olds with hairnets on their heads all hairsprayed. Esteban warns him that if he brings someone home he better stay in his room because he knows he likes to watch. Santiago adds as long as you don't arrive with Javier, Gerardo or Luis. . . Esteban react with a "funny" as he is almost out the door. Santiago, from the couch, has two questions for him before he leaves. Can't they wait? No. Santiago gets up,and wraps himself up in the blanket. 1. Does he have more movies with subtitles? No. 2. Since Esteban was the only one who knew that Santiago knew Mireya from before, was he the one who told Isabel that Mireya and he (Santiago) did the "pisqui pisqui"? Esteban owns up to the fact that it was him. With his head wrapped up in the blanky, all Santiago can say is what???

Everyone is really enjoying the chicken broth. Granny starts in how doña Carmita is an artist in the kitchen not like her niece Estefany. (Estefany's aunt doña Carmita is the one who prepared the meal.) Granpappy and Facundo also have high praise for her. Conchita is in tears because nobody ever compliments her on what she makes. Granpappy agrees: it is because what she makes doesn't have any flavor. Granny tells her they don't like strange meals with all the stuff she puts in. They like simple food like this broth not too salty with the good flavor of herbs. As they are talking about all of the good parts of the chicken Granpappy ate, María asks where Georgina the chicken is. Granny says "she would not have dared but maybe she did" looking at Estefany.

Part 4

Back at Esteban's a crafty Santiago tells Esteban that he did not know that Santiago and Mireya had a relationship. No, of course, he didn't it just sort of came out that way. The only thing he told Isabel was that Santiago and Mireya knew each other from before. He knows how his wife Isabel is so suspicious. She knows what kind of a guy Santiago is. Esteban admits he stuck his foot in it. Samtiago should forgive him. Santiago wants to know why he did not tell him before. Je is such a bad friend, an ex friend.

Chaos breaks out in the dining room when Granny tries to take the broom to Estefany and beat her because of butchering Georgina. They all chase around and around. The long and the short of it is that Estefany should have known that if an animal has a name it is not to be eaten. It is a part of the family. Estefany says that Georgina was so nice and fat she thought she was prepared to be eaten. María tells Estefany to,leave with her aunt for now and come back when Granny has calmed down. María is upset with her, too. Granny's parting comments about Estefany are that she killed the chicken, made them swallow it and now she is here to steal María's husband. They all look at the chicken bones and cry.

Esteban wanrsmhe and Santiago to have a drink and toast as friends as they get all of their issues netween them sorted out. Santiago wants to know what "issues"? Esteban wants to help him. Does he not see how sorry he is? Esteban will fix the disaster of a life Santiago has.

Ale makes Felipe hotcakes. It is her first time preparing them. They are good.

Facundo is out with Facundo the horse telling him about Georgina and hiw he knows he has been neglecting him as of late so he is going to make it up to him by taking him for a walk. Who appears? Crying mopey Isabel. She has to tell him all about how Santiago has left her and now afraid she is to be alone, etc. Facundo tells her to get a cat for company. Of course, María sees them and asks was he not going to take the horse for a walk?

Estefany is jumping rope at the gym and trying to get some sympathy from her trainer about the Georgina incident but there is none coming. He makes the comment that eating a pet is like cannibalism. She just wants to workout and sweat. The trainer adds: just like Georgina in the pot. She tells him how she wants to change . The trainer tells her the only thing that she is going to change is her clothing, because a change of her heart . . . Estefany sees where this is going and moves on to the machines.

María storms into the house, with Facundo following right behind talking all lovey dovey to her. She says she is not angry and talks anout how big the house is to clean and goes around rearranging pillows om the sofas. He tries to get her attention on one knee quoting a little from "María bonita" and adding his own touches here and there. He says he knows she is angry because he was talking with Isabel but that she is very sad because her husband has left her. María wants to know how they would even know if it were the truth. She is peeved that he keeps believing all of the stories that she makes up. He was ready to go whe she pulled him over. That is not what María saw. Facundo starts crying like a big baby saying he is just sick of the whole mess with her doubting him all the time and he isn't even the one receiving letters from a stranger. María is mad he is starting the whole Florencio thing again. She says there is nothing going on with Florencio. He says it is the same with Isabel.

Part 5

Facundo ends up pounding on the window and throwinf María a kiss.

There is babging on the door at Isabel's house and the poor thing has to open her own door. Surprise!!' It is Granny who has come over to tell Isabel off. They are going to talk woman to woman; face to face. She storms into her house and will not leave until she has delivered her message: stay away from Facundo or else she will have to deal with her. She slams the door on her way out.

María wants to know where her mom was. Granny says she was over at Isabel's telling her off. She assa that she will always defend María with her four children with all her might. Then Granny adds thay although she can defend jer from everyone, she cannot defend her from herself. María doesn't understand. Granny asks how could María herself briing Estefany to live in the house. She sees her as another Isabel. María doesn't see it. Granny wants to know what more oroof does she need that she is very bad after she gave chicharrón for Georgina to eat. Will it be marbles for Margarito and who knows what it will be with Susana. Granny cannot even imagine that. She wants her to throw Estefany out. Estefany arrives with a smile on her face. Granny foes to the kitchen.

At the compamy, Esteban is trying to talk Facundo into giving Santiago his job back sayiing a lot of people who are used to working with him are asking for him. Facundo doesn't believe it. Santiago ends up begging Facundo telling him that he doesn't have a home or family anymore and that he will agree to whatever Facundo wants. He just needs a chance, his place. Facundo looks at Beto's picture on the wall and offers his hand: all for one, one for all. He and Santiago shake on it along with Esteban. Then he asks him to throw some money in the piggy bank(?)

María is with Estefany still upset about how she could have butchered Georgina. Estefany keeps up with her not knowing their customs from the country story. María explains again that those with names are special, a part of the family. She wanted to five them a special meal that her aunt had cooked. It was iimportant to her if not María. And then she had to prepare the chicken and put up with her aunt calling her a scorpion and telling her she would make the soup bitter. María forgives her but this is the last screwup. The next time she herself will kick her out herself . María acknowledges Estefany is her only friend in the city. Sisters!!

Estefany is outside talking with Jacinto. He says he knows she is good and will never disappoint him. She thanks him and tells him he has no idea how mich those words of his mean to her. He pipes up with little kids and drunks always tell the truth. He is saying that because he knows that telling truth is very hard for her and that she cannot always do waht she says but he her "child" will always be by her side. In her head Estefany thinks: her aunt is right. She canmot be good. Right now she is deceiving th brightest of the Carmona's . If it can all just continue: win Facundo's heart, deceive silly María and all of the Carmona's.

Jarifa

Muchas muchas gracias, Jarifa! I absolutely love the title.

I made sure to watch this tonight and despite some not good things happening, I am glad I did. I loved reliving it with your recap.

This show just cheers me up.

Likes:
The family cheering for Jacinto (And I never got to yesterday's episode so I just fast forwarded to Maria's drum playing. Definitely Animal!)

It's wrong, but I just kept laughing at the family staring at the chicken bones and being upset.

Ale making hotcakes for Feli. And they were good.

Margarito in a t-shirt.

Rocío blocking that punch.

Fac at the window.

Not likes:
Estefy not being good at all.

Sara, it sure was another fun one. Glad you liked the title. There is always something to laugh at somewhere in these episodes even if there are some "serious" happenings or some of the characters or their antics are wearing thin.

I think my favorite scene was Rocío putting Hilda in her place. I just loved how Hilda wanted to get out of there but Rocío wouldn't let her go. Hilda actually looked uncomfortable. About time one if the crazy bullies gets put in her place.

My least favorite scene was Facundo crying all frustrated like a big baby because he didn't know how to handle Isabel and María wasn't trusting him and then having to bring Florencio up again and trying to make it comparable to the Isabel situation. (That was some run on sentence; wasn't ha! ha!)

And then dear little Margarito. Aw!

More later.

Jarifa

Guess we should have known Georgina was a goner when they talked about her so much in one episode last week(?).

Jarifa

Jarifa- Thanks so much for this excellent retelling.

ITA about the Rocio scene. Hilda needs to go, y ya!

Lord forgive me, but I laughed so hard when the Carmonas realized they had eaten Georgina. And really, how was Stefi to know? Did anyone explain the name thing to her? I'm disappointed that she's decided to go back to being bad. Just because a few folks don't have faith in her change. But Maria and Jacinto do, and that should have been enough.

Santi is going to trust Esteban. Uh oh. He should know better.

Forgot got to mention how cute Margarito was a few episodes back when the family was watching tv. He was peacefully asleep in Perpetua's arms, and was not happy at all when everyone started to raise a fuss trying to figure out why Conchita was crying.

Margarito steals every scene he's in.

Jarifa- that's what I love so much. There's always something to laugh at.

Vivi- I love your words about Estefy. Who cares if it's only 2 people who believe in you? That's more than enough! What hurts most is that poor Jacinto will be hurt. Am I a fool to still hope for Estefy's redemption?

Hilda has no hope. A pox on her.

Vivi, Santiago should know better. He is so dependent! I just loved him wrapped from head to toe in his blanket. I am still enjoying Hilda finding out Rocío was ready to take her on.

Sara, I hope something stops Estefany from making Granny Perpétua right about her. At least Jacinto realizes his "auntie's" difficulty in telling the truth. He might be most influential in actually getting her to change her ways eventually--or so I hope.

Jarifa

I'm listening to NPR right now, and I kid you not that they are doing a story at this moment about a huge increase in salmonella in people in urban areas. The cause-- people who are raising backyard chickens, and treating their chickens like pets- naming them, holding them, kissing them, posing in photos with them. I'm laughing so hard right now.

Really? Oh that's rich. Now I'm laughing, too.

Remember the Bugs Bunny cartoon with the Abominable Snowman? And how he wanted his own bunny rabbit? He kept saying "I will hug him and pet him and name him George."

That's all I can picture right now.

Vivi, that is way too strange and so funny. Thanks!

Jarifa

Sara, also loved your intro. Excellent.

Jarifa, not only are your recaps written beautifully and every nuance and event clearly and fully noted, your humor is just sulime, "With his head wrapped up in the blanky, all Santiago can say is what???" Is but one example.

I loved Santi in the blanket. He makes me smile. Well, most of the time!:)

“He makes the comment that eating a pet is like cannibalism”. Hard to watch – I felt the family’s pain. Estefi, I am so disappointed in you. Haven’t you been around the family enough to know you don’t eat one of your own?? OT, I have to say this show is giving me pause about eating meat.

From meals that should not have been prepared to those that should - "Ale makes Felipe hotcakes. It is her first time preparing them. They are good". Hands down my favorite scene of the night. Ale was so sweet at her culinary accomplishment and Feli never fails to be his sweet and charming self. Now I like Diego, but seriously, is there really any contest between the two??

“Facundo starts crying like a big baby saying he is just sick of the whole mess with her doubting him all the time and he isn't even the one receiving letters from a stranger”. Shut. Up. Facundo. A loathsome master manipulator. But, Eduardo looked pretty handsome last night I say as I shake my head at his character’s tiresome complaining.

“Right now she is deceiving the brightest of the Carmona's . If it can all just continue: win Facundo's heart, deceive silly María and all of the Carmona's”. Estefi, you have broken our hearts…How could you deceive not only the Carmonas but us as well?? I fell for your lies and truly believed you were coming from a place of love, not deception. Vivi, yes, Maria and Jacinto have faith in her. But will it be fulfilled??

Why was Beto holding Margarito rather than Susana? Regardless, I'm happy to see the sweet swine, no matter who is holding him!

Diana

Diana- what was it about Ed last night? I fairly swooned when he was in the Arriba Jacinto t-shirt.

Here's the story I heard earlier:
http://tinyurl.com/npjws6s

Best line in the piece: "The CDC is arguing against this type of casual human/chicken fraternizing."

Hahahaha! The CDC and the Carmonas would not see eye to eye. :)

Sara, there was something about Eduardo last night. I noticed he seemed to be genuinely smiling during Estefi's scenes and there were a few moments where the actor rather than the character stood out.

He rather took my breath away!

Diana

That was just awesome! Thank you for sharing!

Oops my last comment was for Vivi.

Now this is for Diana - Big Ed is just full of charisma and charm and hubba hubba. *sigh*

Ramblings this a.m.:

Diana, I really like Felipe. Here is hoping he does not show any major character flaws before this thing is over.

Thanks for the link, Vivi. "Human/chicken fraternizing", really? I wonder if salmonella was a problem in the old days on farms from "fraternization." Maybe humans didn't fraternize much with the chickens or maybe salmonella was not as common in the chicken population. The warnings against raw or undercooked eggs and even handling raw chicken are relatively recent. Oh, well, research for another time.

My favorite part of my recap was the intro. Who gets Kermit to cheer them on. You outdid yourself, Sara!

Diana and Sara, you guys make me laugh with your "appreciation" of Big Ed. He is not my type, so you don't have to worry about any competition from me. : )

Jarifa

Jarifa !!! Thanks so much for the detail and "comedy" .. yours!!!

Say it isn't so Stephi, this is one plot I'm seriously disappointed in. Even if she does turn it around later, her latest musings have put a damper on it. Conning Jacinto is evil seeing how much he appreciates and loves her attention, and she is totally aware of his adoration.

So, did Hilde steal Rocio's bracelet and not her phone? That's a sigh of relief if so. But are they setting us up for Hilde doing something more criminal?

Conchita sure is getting her share of nasty comments these days and they're not deserved. She should walk out on the whole lot of them.

Lola

Lola, good point about everyone being on Conchita's case. She has such a good heart. It would be funny for her to just leave them all in the lurch and get a job where someone might appreciate her. Going to miss not having an episode tonight.

Jarifa

Thanks Jarifa for the awesome recap. I'm getting a little bored with this one--at least right now--but your recap makes it fun.

I hate that they ate Georgina, but I had to laugh (guiltily) at the end of the scene right before cutting away when Susana was stroking a leg bone.

I'm not sure the Estefy is entirely sincere about duping the Carmonas. I think she says stuff like that, but doesn't really mean it. She genuinely likes Jacinto and Maria, too.

Florencio would be perfect for Estefany. He's rich, handsome, macho with no wife or children she has to destroy in the process.

Diana: I'm vegan mostly because of the horrific conditions animals are subjected to. I can watch people eating meat without too much cringing (I was a meat eater until about 4 years ago), but when I found out they ate Georgina, my stomach turned. However, my first thought was "what if she decided to fix a pork dish sometime. What if she used Margarito?!"

Nanette

Actually, I'd like to thank all the recappers this week. I am getting a little tired of this one--maybe it's just a phase--but you and the commenters are making it fun in spite of that. The thing I dislike the most--besides Hilde (I almost FF through her scene last night since I can't stand her, so glad I didn't) is Fac's hypocritical attitude about Maria and Florencio. She hasn't done a DAMN!! thing and he's practically having an affair with Isa and HE's acting all hurt and disappointed and judgmental. What a . . . .

Sorry. Had to rant.

I am so glad you enjoyed the Muppet flail, Jarifa! To add to the enjoyment, I have decided to be Camilla the Chicken.

Please everyone, wash your hands after commenting. I don't want the human/chicken fraternizing to give anyone salmonella.

I'm now thinking it was the bracelet that Hilda took Lola. At least I hope that was all. If she has Rocio's phone she could really stir things up.

Rant all you want Nanette. I understand it. We do seem to be going around in circles, but I try to look at each episode as a separate unit and I practically ignore the adults. It helps. And since the patio is so bomb diggety awesome you know you can't stay away!

The following is for Nanette and might sound preachy if you are not vegan. Please read at your own risk:

I went vegan in 2004(?) for animal and religious reasons. I fell of the band wagon and started eating dairy and (gasp!) fish last year. Aaaand gained 20 pounds, started having joint pain and generally feeling like crap. So just this month I jumped back on the vegan bandwagon. I am also solidarity eating with my sister in law this month. She has a corn allergy so I am avoiding all corn products. It's hard. Corn or a corn byproduct is in everything.

Aaannnywaaay...all that to say that despite my dietary choices, I enjoyed the dark humor of Estefy's dinner. I wonder if the conversation between Estefy and Maria will get anyone thinking about giving up meat. Estefy even said, "how can one be a pet and the other food?" Or some such.

Nanette, I think we all have our ups and downs with the novelas and more than once the patio has been more fun than the novela for me.

No need to apologize. I loved your rant. We really are seeing the ugly side of Facundo when he cannot get his way easily. I could not believe Facundo last night with him turning it all back on María again and trying to make her as much at fault as he. Sure hope María makes him pay at the apporpriate time. I will surely enjoy that!

Always looking forward to seeing your little piggie avatar!

Jarifa

Sara, I love Camilla!!

Jarifa

Thank you for the recap!!!

I thought it was Rocio's phone that Hilde stole but I guess not. So Hilde is just a thief too. She's so tiresome.

Poor Estefy and then not so poor Estefy. I still have faith in her ability to be good. I think when it comes down to it she won't hurt them. Gosh I hope I'm right!

I love margarito but I wonder how many times he has pooped on the actors holding him!

Santi is too funny and Isa is so not.

"I love margarito but I wonder how many times he has pooped on the actors holding him!

This is why I love the patio.

And there's a transition scene with a horse who has his tail up...it looks an awful lot to me like he's about to poop. But I don't know a thing about horses.

Carvivlie, I am really hoping that when all is said and done, Estefy is team good.

Isn't Camilla the best, Jarifa?

Jarifa: I love my little piglet!!!

Sara: I think the same thing about the horse. It definitely looks like he's about to poop.

Re: vegan. I should clarify that I'm about 99% vegan. I still have a hard time resisting sweets and they usually have milk and/or eggs. There are vegan desserts, but they're hard to find. There's also what PETA calls "Accidentally Vegan" foods. Oreo cookies are on that list. Yum!! But I'm proud of myself. I have been able to resist sweets for the past 10 days or so. That's a record!!

Nanette, "However, my first thought was "what if she decided to fix a pork dish sometime. What if she used Margarito?!"

Excellent point, first of all. Second of all, perish the thought.

I give you and Sara so much credit for going vegan. I am slowly turning away fron eating red meat and hope to go further.

And really, aren't all animals our extended family?? "Estefy even said, "how can one be a pet and the other food?" is certainly food for thought.

Diana

Sara: meant to say that horses do raise their tails when pooping.

Diana: I started out giving up beef (and I'm from Indiana--that was hard!). I'm not excessively fond of fish, so that wasn't hard to give up. Lastly, was chicken. I was a vegetarian for three years before starting on my vegan path. I've not been vegan for a year yet. I highly recommend Alicia Silverstone's The Kind Diet. But beware, she's very specific about the treatment of farm animals.

Sara, she IS the best!

Carvivlie, that was so funny about Margarito maybe leaving more than a memory behind.

Jarifa

What a great job you've done Nanette.

You have my respect and admiration.

Diana

Thank you, Diana. That's sweet of you to say.

Nanette - Amy's makes two varieties of frozen cakes. They are vegan and tasty.

Sara..I just read your comment about being a vegan. I grew up on a farm in a community and family of German background , so we ate a lot of meat (beef) , corn, and potatoes, all of which my dad raised. While my younger daughter was in college, she became a vegetarian ...for awhile...a couple years. I gave up red meat at that time, and I still do not eat it. When I had a bit some years ago, it felt like a rock in my stomach. I had friends who raised steer, named them, showed them at the county fair...and then sold them. Farm kids learn to do this. I do not think that I could have.

Oddly enough susanlynn I don't have issues with meat eating. I have really big issues with industrialized meat production.

It is just now sinking in that there will be no visit with the Carmonas tonight and I am kind of sad. Sure the plots and the people have been going nowhere, but I love whatever shenanigans the show presents.

Yes, Sara, it is sort of odd not having the Carmona's to catch up with tonight. "Shenanigans" indeed. Perfect decription of what happens on this show.

Jarifa

I'm not enjoying the awards show as much as the Carmonas. It's a lot of that "young people music." I feel old.

I'll stick with Augustin Lara ;-) (But not sung by Fac.)

I felt lost without our animals to watch last night.

There is so little worth watching on other channels, even in prime time. Thank heavens for TNs and more than that, CarayCaray.

Can't wait until tonight.

Diana

Diana- your words are such a comfort. I had begun to feel like a loser for feeling a little lonely this morning. Lonely because there were no recaps to read. No comments about Margarito and Porfirio.

I am so looking forward to Marta's recap tonight.

So glad I am not the only one hooked on "Amores . . .". Looking forward to tonight and all of our amiguitos on the patio and, of course, Marta's recap. Nobody better call, 'cause I am not answering. : )

Jarifa

Oh you're definitely not the only one!

Even if the plot and characters are going in circles (I honestly think they could be wrapping this up quickly), there is always some fun silliness that makes me smile. I don't have to think too hard with this show.

Really they should have focused more on the kids. I love their stories. And oh the Beto actor is my new favorite galan. I hope he gets more and more roles.

May I ramble a moment?

I would rather see TNs move to galans that are nice guys. I'm talking about the Beto types. Juan Diego Corvarrubias is another. They are not classic chiseled jaw and ripped bod types, but their sweet sincerity just draws me in.

But I still like the Big Ed types, too.

I so agree, Sara. The action is pretty mundane in this one and that is okay by me. I get my drama fix on cable mainly. This novela is in a rambling phase but it still has been entertaining. It is taking a long time for people to "learn their lessons" with plenty of starts and stops, but hey, that is like real life anyway. I also would like to see different kinds of galanes.

Hello Patio Peeps! I didn't get the chance to be sad last night about there being no shows, because I was at a reception and dinner in the Smithsonian Museum of African Art. It was awesome! Getting to walk around the museum, with no tourists, and just a few other people, who all work with youth in the region-- really cool. But not being able to read fresh recaps and comments this morning-- really sad. But, the shows are back tonight, and we have the weekend to watch and discuss!

That's sounds awesome fun, Vivi!! Cool!

Jarifa-I have several thoughts in your comment, but I'm on my phone. Just wait til I'm near a keyboard. :)

Vivi, how wonderful! Sounds like you had a marvelous time.

I love EY, Arturo Peniche and William Levy. But not just because they are handsome, but they have charm and grace. When they profess love to their leading ladies, it all seems so real, so romantic and utterly believable. While I like some of the younger galans, time is needed for them to perfect their craft. A certain sophistication is necessary, like a fine wine...That said, I'm sure the younger men appeal to younger women. I unfortunately am not in that category.

Sara, I want my galans to be good men to and don't want any black marks of untoward deeds (roles, not real life) to tarnish their image (ummm, SR I'm talking to you in your last debacle). I like a few shades of gray - doing the unexpected or tweaking the law in the name of justice, but don't like any acts that defy galan status.

Jarifa, it is taking time for people to find their way here. Facundo seems to want to at times but keeps straying. Santi seems to want his marriage but is diverted by every woman who looks twice at him! Thankfully, Beto is on track but the others certainly need to get their act together.

Vivi, sounds like a wonderful time to be there without the general public and to also have dinner. What a memorable experience!

So with you on this. Except I don’t even need a drama fix. When I first started watching TNs (not very long ago), I did sort of enjoy the angst and the drama. Nowadays I just want to check my brain at door.

I was talking to someone the other day about this. As long as I like watching the performance, I can really put up with almost anything. I’ve joked about being happy to watch certain actors file their nails or read the phone book...and it’s not that far from the truth.

Even as a happily married lady, I love to buy into someone else’s romance. A girl’s gotta swoon.

I do agree that the younger galans need to hone their craft and what I see now gives me hope for the future. I love seeing the younger galans, but I tend to see them more as possible suitors for Offspring. Big Ed, Jorge Salinas, Pedro Fernandez=hubba hubba (Plus there’s a couple Chilean actors too.)

Can't believe I forgot to mention this-- the older twins with dark hair in the math competition are Itati's (Isa) kids in real life. They're her kids with Eduardo Santamarina, who will be the main villain in the upcoming Antes Muerta que Lichita.

Cool! Thanks for the info. Now I wish I had paid closer attention.

(I'm really looking forward to Antes Muerta.)

Sara: thanks for the info about Amy's desserts. They look yummy! I llike her vegan margherita pizza and chunky vegetable soup (which I had last night).

Looking foward to Antes Muerta, too.

Now I want Amy's pizza. Isn't the crust on the vegan margherita awesome?

The cast of Antes Muerta is amazing. I really can't wait! I confess Maite is one of the actresses that I will watch read the phone book.

Diego del Erice is in it, too. With a beard--here's some pics

Vivi, those boys are very handsome - thanks for the info!

I have to say that while I like Eduardo, I am not particularly enamored of the Antes Muerta leads. But, all of you seem to be enthused, so...

BEWARE DIANA!!

I dragged Kat into La Gata. I have incredibly low standards. Unless something else tickles your fancy about the show, please don't feel like you have to watch it. LOL.

It's a Rosy Ocampo production. Ingrid Martz is in it, too. They say it's an original story, but it sounds a lot like LFMB to me. I didn't see LFMB so it will at least be original to me.

Loved Ingrid Martz in QPTR. She is so funny. Since Ocampo also did LFMB I am hoping for a little something different in Antes Muerta. LFMB is my all time favorite and I do confess I have seen all 300 capítulos 3x now. (Talk about an extension in the middle! ) It is an old friend when I can't sleep.
