Amores con Trampa #99 Porfirio's ghosts are closin in on him... and Carmen needs to get off the see saw.

Refritos: Facu offers to Santee to sell him the stock now… or you are screwed up for good.

Mysterious woman talks on phone with Frankee… asks him how is the investigation going. He is about to leave San Bartolo el Chico but the Samarripa cousins are making it a bit rough. She remembers them. And gives him advice to watch his wallet.  She insists he needs to find Porfirio Carmona.

Meanwhile Porfirio tells Conchita that he has only truly loved one woman… his wife…  he has kept on living with the hope to someday reunite with her… his wife was everything to him. The only woman he has truly truly truly truly loved.   (seems even the rooster is tired of hearing him say the same line).

Lo Nuevo:

Santee and Isa atrive home to see Felipe on a really-fun-looking electric one-wheeler. They all talk that Santee just sold his stock in the company to Facu… Isa is ok considering they can live on the money he just got until the new company he is starting is operational. He whiles a bit about bureocracy and government being real slow in Mex for these things… (I have a feeling he has some other thing that is worrying him).

At Carmonas, Porfirio is dusting his last supper painting. Perpetua comes by and notices he is not hugry even for her boiled eggs.  He is acting strange and she knows it Maria comes by and Perpetua tells her about her concern about Porfirio. He is acting strange.  Maria undermines what Perpetua is saying. Perp wants to call the doctor.

Isa talks to Santee, she is talking a bit of nonsense, even tells him he should go find a job (yeah right, it will rain upwards before that, Isa) He talks about all the expenses and all the things she wants that cost money, even a lipo.

At the gym, Estefi comes in. the trainer with beard talks to her, is a bit cold with her. Not a good day to get on her back.  She whines about Perpetua constantly scrutinizing her.  Estefi assures the guy that Perpetua might be smart but not as smart as her.  In comes the other woman and Estefi is running away from her and putting the guy in the middle. (not sure who this woman is but seems estefi owes her money or has tricked her into something, sorry have not watched much this week).

At office, Felipe wants to talk to Facu about something, Facu has to poke him a bit before he opens his mouth.  Felipe finally does.  Wants permission to miss work, the end of year dance is coming up at the college.  Facu wants to hear more.  It seems there is some kind of king/queen of the dance contest where the winners can win grants/scholarships to go to  college overseas.

Back at the gym, the ladies continue running around the guy trainer in the neon green shirt… He is getting angry that they won’t stop.

Facu on phone, Maria called him to tell him about Porfirio acting strange. Facu also undermines the warnings.  Then he hangs up and second guesses whether Porfirio is well or not.

Isa is talking to her mom (la italiana) and tells her all about what Santee had told her back when he asked her to seduce Facu. La Italiana is in disbelief. Isa gets a bit offended and leaves.

At school, Carmen, Felipe and Diego are in the same dance class and the teacher is pairing up the students.  Carmen ends up paired with Diego (even though Felipe had stepped forward) and Felipe ends up with Hilda… Francis complains. The teacher won’t have any.  Diego tells Carmen that he likes her very  much.  He wants to know if she likes him… she feels awkward and reluctant to tell…  you and I… me and you?.... you and I? (YESSSS nina!!!)

Francis tells her shadowgirls about what she is going to do next… Never mind, she does not tell… she runs over to push Carmen and Diego apart… she tells the whole class offensive remarks about Carmen. Of course Felipe comes over to defend Carmen and ask Francis to stop it already.  Teacher comes over to do same.

Not sure what happened at the gym but all of a sudden the three that were playing ring around the rosie are now having a drink at a café… and it is all smiles between the girls… seems the girl wants a piece of the pie when Estefi ends up with all the Carmona money. Estefi is in disbelief and the girls and the guy are back in the fighting vibe.

Felipe comes out of the gym and is ranting at himself for having lost Carmen for his idiotic behavior.  It is obvious that Diego won the battle.  Out comes Hilda and is having fun watching Felipe being hard on himself but she is truly attracted to him… (run, Felipe!! RUN!!!)  she wants to take him home and he will be her teddy bear… She ends up sitting with him and is leaning on him… actually she leans on him so hard she pushes him right out of the bench.

At San Bartolo… Humilde calls Florencio to ask him how Hilda is… (he responds some nonsense in their language)… and she also tells him about Franklin coming back to town and the Tamarripa cousins sent him to the city (told him that Porf was there).  Humilde says she and the cousins were tired of him asking and asking about Porfirio…  She tells him to be ready…

Back to the dance class at school… Diego and Carmen are doing the twist pretty decent… Felipe is trying with Hilda but it seems they both have lead feet (or as the teacher says two or three left feet).  Teacher notices and comes to tell them. Francis comes over and says its because she is a rancher girl… Hilda gives her a killer stare (be careful Francis, you haven’t seen Hulk Hilda get green when she gets angry). Teacher cuts her off but keeps on ranting at Felipe for not hitting even one step.  Felipe admits he has not done that well.  He suggests he dance in his  electric mono-cycle instead.  So the music begins again and Felipe is rolling around in between everyone on his mono-cycle.

At Carmonas, Jacinto is talking to Porfirio. Asks Abuelo how met the Abuela.  Porfirio tries to change the subject but Jacinto insists to talk about Abuela.  ‘you always are recalling stories about the past and the country living… but never about Abuela… why?’  Porfirio starts coming up with excuses… about his age making him lose his memory.  They he says even the rooster is not ‘singing’ that well in the mornings.  Porfirio gets sad and leaves. Jacinto asks himself why Abuelo is so mysterious about Abuela and if there is a secret behind it.

At the dance class, Felipe crashes on his monocycle… Francis insists about the ranchera and Carmen has had enough and threatens her with making her swallow her words.  Felipe tries to stop Francis and Diego asks Carmen if she seriously would rather stay and give Felipe dance classes than being with him.  Teacher makes the music start again, but Carmen runs out after a minute (probably regretting letting Diego leave on that note). Felipe runs after Carmen and says Diego is right, she has to choose.  Carmen leaves him there and keeps running out.  She catches up with Diego.  She tells him he was right, the teachers can teach Felipe. She would rather go to the parade with him. He is happy to hear that and they get on the elevator together.

Nighttime… Isa and Alejandra are breaking any and every diet and really splurging themselves at a yogurt buffet (any topping any amount you want) place.  Isa gives Alejandra some advice.  First… (she gets distracted looking at some other ladies shoes)…  life has some pain and some joys… some fear… (again she interrupts herself saying someone is not well dressed)… life has all colors… some good, some bad… she was so wrong and it made her revisit what was important in her life, which is her.  How is Andres?   Isa jumps when Alejandra tells her that Andres said she was pretty.   What did he say?   That I did look good …  Carmen comes home and seems Felipe had come over and told Maria and Facu that she had promised to teach him some dance steps… Maria and Facu are upset at Carmen for lying to them.  Felipe says his goodbyes… Carmen wants to talk to him before he goes.  HE says he only told them because he was worried about her. Carmen tells him that if he only really knew her he would know… (Facu yells at Carmen to get up to her room so she can’t finish her statement). Felipe leaves.

At Velascos… La Italiana is insulting the new maid…  Isa tries to cool things off… but the maid is nervous about seeing a telenovela (she even tells them how the storyline is going… blood is going to run) Italiana says any similarity to life is pure coincidence, no?   Alejandra is the one that tries to cool her off this time.  The maid runs out and Isa runs out too.

At Carmona bedroom, Maria is not sleepy… want to take a bath?...  Carmen comes over to talk to them. She admits she was wrong.   Maria and Facu agree that it was wrong to leave with Diego lying to them.  Maria asks her what does she really want?   Carmen hesitates to tell them the whole thing…

At Velascos… Felipe gets home and Isa notices he is limping.  He tells her what happened at dance class.  He fell down and hurt himself.  Isa shows some concern… ‘does it hurt much?’  Felipe says all his pain is… for Carmen. Isa asks him if he is really interested in ‘la yoya’.  Isa says its GREAT NEWS!! (???)  He is about to cry… Carmen is interested in Diego and he lost her for good.  Isa does not agree.  He can’t throw the towel like that. Don’t give up. You are nice but you won’t get any girl acting like that.  It is in you to go after her. He asks her if she is serious. Of course!  She offers to support and train him.

Carmen explains to her parents that she got an invite to a casting of supermodels.  She begs them to let her go. Maria says heck on!  Facu agrees, she just lied to them and now she wants them to let her go.  He says Carmen will have to change dreams… she won’t be appearing in any reality sh….   Carmen gets desperate begging ‘Porfa!! Porfa!! Porfa!!’ They lift magazines up to their faces so they don’t have to watch her jump up and down begging.

We see the maid at the Velascos watching the telenovela.  A very dramatic scene… the girl can’t stand the suffering… he is still married and his wife won’t give him the divorce… but from there to you kissing her is way too far…  He claims he was drunk and that is why he kissed her… (she forgives him, which is NOT the typical novella leading lady reaction)… he thanks her and they reconcile… they kiss… he swears that his true love kisses only belong to her.  (the maid is drinking and pushes the bottle behind the couch pillow…  Isa joins her and ends up interested in the telenovela storyline…  “it is an impossible love’ is heard in the theme song…

Next morning Carmen is still under Facu and Maria’s bed repeating her begging ‘Porfa!! Porfa!! Porfa!!’  Maria is getting ready with makeup for work and Carmen continues her begging. Then she is all over Facu as he is putting his shoes on… Also in kitchen as Maria is fixing breakfast…

Franklin is on phone with Dona Martina that he now is sure about where Porfirio is.  Dona Martina is very surprised that Porfirio is in the city… He is a country boy through and through.  He tells her that Humilde told him that Porfirio is in the city and Dona Martina says if Humilde is your source, then the information is good.  He will call her again when he has more news or he finds Porfirio.  Franklin tells himself that he lost his way for a while due to the country tequila… but now he is back on track. Porfirio Carmona, I am coming for you.

Conchita is cleaning and is dusting the last supper… Porfirio gets mad at her again for touching his Last Supper painting.  She notices an envelope behind the painting.  He is upset that she just unveiled his great secret!! How could you!!

Previews:  Estefi and Esteban again team up to get the money. They say ‘its time’. We see an envelope on Facu’s desk… We see Facu looking at the photo of Maria and Florencio about to kiss. saying ‘it can’t be’  and then we see Facu arrive at Florencio’s apt and not letting Florencio say even ‘hi’ before charging him hard with punches.

Marta, this was top notch - loved the title.

"Isa talks to Santee, she is talking a bit of nonsense, even tells him he should go find a job (yeah right, it will rain upwards before that, Isa)" and "Out comes Hilda and is having fun watching Felipe being hard on himself but she is truly attracted to him… (run, Felipe!! RUN!!!)" were among many excellent lines.

"it seems they both have lead feet (or as the teacher says two or three left feet)". Yes, Feli and Hilda are no Fred and Ginger but I give them credit for trying.

"(be careful Francis, you haven’t seen Hulk Hilda get green when she gets angry)." Am I a terrible person because I had hoped Hilda was going to put Francis in her place? Sigh. If she has intimidated Hilda, I hold out no hope.

I loved Isa and Ale having a blast at the mall (and indulging in all those goodies). That looked like a fabulous outing - sweets and shoes.

I also got a kick out of Carmen’s incessant nagging. I don’t know how Eduardo and Africa were able to keep a straight face, especially after Carmen rolled out from under the bed. I laughed a lot – I give them credit for not backing down although Facundo looked like he was going to “crack” early on and give into her…

What on earth is in the envelope behind the picture??

Second night of no Margarita and Susana. I hope they were on a well deserved break and will be back on Monday.

Diana

Wonderful recap, Marta.

Diana: I also thought the nagging scene was a hoot. The actor who plays Carmen was really good. I'd love to see the outtakes.

Oh, and that gardener guy on AI3 is an accident waiting to happen. In this ep he was
running with the pruning shears in his hands.

Marta- I haven't seen the episode yet, but couldn't resist reading your recap this lovely Sat morning. What a treat. Thank you!

You all are making this episode sound sound funny. I will definitely be watching it sometime today. Back later after I do.

Marta, thank you for another wonderful recap. Perfect title! I sure agree with your advice for Felipe to run.

So much to comment on:

So, the dance teacher could not even shut Francis up? Really? With all of her insults?

It was so funny when María could see through Carmen's dramatic "act of contrition" and and just asked her what she wanted. Carmen was a hoot with her whiny incessant "por fa."She was a real brat standing Felipe up with his dance help. She just should have told him she had other plans and gone. She does need to get off the see saw.

Isabel showed she could be a great mother with her interactions and advice with/for both Ale and Felipe.

Conchita was so annoying: what does she not get about not touching Porfirio's painting when he is telling her right to her face?? Granny Perpétua's "meticheness" must have rubbed off on her.

Loved the interchange between Granpappy Porfirio and Jacinto. Unfortunately for Granpappy, Jacinto is now old enough to notice the reluctance of Granpappy to say anything about his wife. (Back to the refrito: Conchita referred to Granpappy's wife as "la difunta que se murió"--the dead one who died").

Diana, I am definitely ready for more Margarito!

Jarifa

I have had the feeling that Santiago doesn't really have another construction company in the works and that it has all been a sham but can't remember if that has been hinted at or not. Just might be my suspicious nature . . ..

Jarifa

Marta, your recap was spot on. Thank you.

I guess I'm going to be the downer here, but I didn't like last night's epi at all. Carmen disgusts me. Facu has played into her hands all these years and no matter who she ends up with, if she can't get her way, it will always be the cutesy, whiny, por fa until she gets what she wants. Didn't like the whole dance scene, and what the heck was Feli doing anyway? Didn't like the Estef and friend (enemy?) battle scenes either. Yes, Marta that was a strange transition from the gym to the cafe.

Ok, I've had my say. Can't like every single epi, and I have enjoyed this tn overall. The F&F battle should be good on Monday.

Lola

Nanette, yes, it would be great to see the outtakes. I miss the Christina reunion shows too. It's nice to see the actors as themselves and see their chemistry and interaction.

Jarifa, I am not convinced Santi has another construction company in the works either. I'm sure he has something brewing but not sure it's on the "up and up". Guess we will wait to see.

Lola, you are always entitled to your opinion and to voice it here. You made a good case as to why the Carmen character was annoying. Is she spoiled? Yes! I just looked at the scenes from a different perspective - that of the actors, not the characters. Carmen is definitely daddy's little girl.

Diana

Thank you so much, Marta. This week has been full of "bits and pieces" episodes and you and Jarifa have handled them with such skill.

I also loved the incessant "por fa" scenes, but I will say Lola that I have not been thrilled with this week's episodes. They've seemed so cobbled together and all over the place...like Isa on her pills. And Diana is probably right....the lack of Margarito and Susana have made it worse.

Alejandra did look lovely last night. They've put a little more makeup on her and she is looking older. I wonder if they will do the same with Susana.

The gardener is my favorite character on AI3 (good one Nanette).

Jarifa: I don't really pay attention to business storylines, but I've even gotten the idea that Santi is definitely up to something shady.

I hope you get a chance to watch, Vivi!

I'm sorry. Did Feli really rat Carmen out?

It really looked like it to me, Nanette! If that's the case then there is no way I can get behind Feli.

Thanks for the compliment, Sara, and I will add a "right back at ya"

Jarifa

I agree, Sara. Way too pathetic. OT: got my Smelly Girl DVDs. Psyched!

*blush*

I forgot to say earlier that I hope the discovery of that envelope leads to some interesting developments.

This has been a good show, but I feel like maybe there could have been less Isa and more Porfirio, Beto, Rocío, Diego and Maria.

Does anyone else catch themselves singing Amor imposible imposible imposible?

OT- Yay! I am so glad you recommended Smelly Girl. I enjoyed it so much.

I'm so glad Isa has been giving Ale attention recently. She has so craved it, and Isa has been awful to her. I'm watching now. Love their mother-daughter outing, and Isa was actually giving her good life advice.

Feli definitely ratted out Carmen. He says he was worried, but really what was he worried about. He knew she was with Diego, and all they did was go to a fashion show. Not a big deal and none of Feli's business. Fac and Maria are only upset because Carmen only has permission to go to dance practice with Diego.

RIP Feli. You are dead to me.

The Carmen "porfa" scene was funny. I'm sure there were fun outtakes. Fac was ready to give in quite a few times. Luckily, Maria was their to keep him on message. But we've always known Carmen has Fac wrapped around her little finger.

Sara- I too sometimes have the AI3 song pop into my head. I found today's installment funny. The gardener has the same power to skulk out in the open as Hilda. It's funny how the protagonist is upset that the galan dared to kiss his wife--but now she's ok because he was drunk when he did it, and everyone knows men can't be responsible for anything they do while drunk. *wink, wink*

Yes, that scene from AI3 was hilarious.

I think I saw Africa trying not to laugh at the beginning of the "Por fa" scenes. Carmen is way to old for it, but the actress seemed to be having a great time pretending to be 5. She really outdid herself.

Vivi, I agree what Feli did was wrong. And he should be ashamed of himself!

That said, I think he is desperate. Doesn't excuse what he did, but competing with Diego is rather tough...He has nothing else to bargain with rather than squealing on Carmen. Diego holds all the cards - looks, charm, personality, etc. so Diego will need to be very creative. I hope he uses his good heart to his advantage. It's his best and most endearing quality.

Sara, agreed - Carmen did a great job. Thought I saw stifled smiles from both Africa and Eduardo. And, the comments he was making were so cute. I wish he had more opportunity to be his cute, adorable self rather than the angry, chauvinist character he was given. There are still weeks to go. Hoping for a major character transformation.

Diana

I meant to say Feli will need to be creative, etc. Not Diego. Sorry.

Diana

I so agree, Diana. I have not enjoyed the bellowing, controlling Fac. Big Ed does better playing a big kid.

They really have dropped the ball with Feli. We definitely didn't get enough character development with him. The actor was so good in QPob. He's been underutilized so far.

The last, interrupted, comment Carmen made to Feli makes me think he's Carmen's end game.

And that makes me so sad for Diego!

I don't want him to end up alone!

Well, Isa said she would help Feli up his love game, so we might finally see him take action.

That could be potentially fun to watch. If they keep giving us good scenes with Isa and the kids (like with Ale) and avoiding Fac, I could be coaxed into thinking that there's a little bit of good in her heart.

Thanks, Marta. Loved the recap.

I don't really think Isa is qualified to be giving advice to the lovelorn. And this business about "Fight for your love" -- I imagine that's what stalkers think. And Felipe is just not attractive, not because of his looks, but because he's desperate.

And Carmen, besides being gorgeous, what does she offer? She's annoying and screechy. Diego, you can do better!

Hilda, at least, has finally realized that Beto is just not that into her, and has decided to move on.

There is always the possibility of the winners of the dance competition to win a scholarship fior study abroad. That could easily solidify/delay/destroy certain romantic relationships. I wonder if that will come into play.

Jarifa

What's your conjecture on how that will play out, Jarifa?

I really don't know. Just thinking it could be a wild card and a real easy way of getting rid of an "inconvenient" character(s).

Jarifa

Ha! Then I'm going to hope Hilda or Francis win!

Sara, silly OT: the local ice cream truck just came by playing "La cucaracha". Is that a sign I should eat the ice cream in my freezer?

Jarifa

Seems like a sign to me! I'm jealous. I don't have ice cream in my freezer (Coconut milk ice cream is delish. I recommend it!)

I love coconut so I will have to look for the coconut milk ice cream when I am out. Now will it be vanilla with choco syrup or a mango Fruttare bar . . . ? Such big decisions!

Jarifa

I don't think coconut milk ice cream is any healthier, but it's vegan!

It's Monday! Normally this would bother me but it means my shows are on! How bad is it that I also stockpile episodes of a Chilean TN and yo no creo en los hombres so I have TNs to watch on the weekend?

I'm not an addict. I can quot whenever I want.

Er... quit. Lack of coffee+autocorrect = ooops.

Jarifa, "Just thinking it could be a wild card and a real easy way of getting rid of an "inconvenient" character(s)". We can only hope.

I've developed a real affinity for coconut...never cared for it until about 6 months ago when I had a cupcake with cream cheese frosting and coconut. Still salivating.

Diana

Sara, I cannot be critical. I was on a LFMB mini marathon last night.

Jarifa

Sara, think of it this way.

TNs are non-caloric and inexpensive (free actually) ;). The camaraderie lightens our spirits and hearts. We are able to vent and share without judgment.

If this is an addiction, I'll freely admit to it.

Diana

I'll freely admit to it, too! I'm surrounded by excellent company.

LFMB was before I started watching TNs, Jarifa. :( I've seen bits and pieces on the Tlnovelas channel and it looks so cute.

Lichita looks like it is similar, but I hope it's different enough for people who have seen LFMB.

It's almost time! Can't wait to see what the Carmonas are up to tonight!
