In general blog news, Project Gimme Back My Feeds continues.

This is going to take a while!  Did you know that Caray, Caray! has covered over 60 shows as full recaps and even more as discussions and summaries?  Yet, ironically, one of the most-read posts during the blog's entire lifetime is Vivi's synposis of Corona De Lagrimas, a show we didn't cover…go figure!

This weekend, we added the new feed view for:

La Malquerida
De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero
Que Pobres Tan Ricos
Lo Que La Vida Me Robo
and Por Siempre Mi Amor

You can find these and all the other shows and features that have the new feed view available on the sidebar, typically with the word "index" in the link.  If you should happen to find that any of the new links, or the links to individual shows, are not working or if you have any other technical issues with the blog, please let me know.

Take it away, peeps!  What telenovelas are you excited about--either current or proximas?  Got any community news?  Recommendations for shows, movies, music, or books that may appeal to your fellow telenovela fans?  Let's hear it!  (Remember to keep it spoiler-free and gossip-free.)

Thanks Kat, for continuing to do this. Just the other day I was on my tablet and want to look at an old recap from La Malquerida. But of course, since I was on my tablet, all I got was gibberish when I clicked on the link for the feed. But now, it's beautifully laid out with all the links! Thank you so much, amiga.

Thank you, Diva! I hope someone comes over with information about that, what was it, Pasion y Poder? I'm always afraid to look for things for fear of seeing something I don't want to.

Congrats, Vivi, for having one of the most read posts on Caray! Wow!

Lila- Wait. What post?

Thank you, Lila and Vivi!

Vivi, the Corona de Lagrimas synopsis. The exact position is constantly changing, but ever since I've been spending time on this feeds project I've noticed it's always in the top 5 most-viewed posts.

That's so funny. Obviously that tn has fans around the world.

Well Lila, I do have info on Pasion Y Poder : It is supposed to air in Mexico on October 5th

Susana Gonzales and Jorge Salinas are going to be protangoists while Marlene Favela & Fernando Colunga star as the villains. Michelle Reunand ( Played "Aldonza" in La Sombra) is supposed to play the younger protagonist.

Thank you, Countx! Susana G...yes, please!

Patio peeps! I don't know how many of you know or are even interested in this but Netflix now has some telenovelas available for streaming! I'm going to start watching some oldies this weekend!

Thank you Kat for the page and for all the work you are doing for us.

There are several novelas available for streaming on Netflix.

Here is a list of them:

From Univision/Televisa:

- Lo Que La Vida Me Robo
- Que Pobres Tan Ricos
- Porque El Amor Manda
- La Fea Mas Bella
- Hasta Que El Dinero Nos Separe
- Cuidado Con El Angel
- Por Ella Soy Eva
- Maria La Del Barrio
- La Usurpadora
- De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero
- Para Volver A Amar
- Rubi
- Teresa
- Rebelde
- Carita De Angel (children's novela)

From Telemundo:

- Relaciones Peligrosas
- La Patrona
- La Reina Del Sur
- El Señor De Los Cielos (Season 1 & 2)
- Pablo Escobar: El Patron Del Mal (also played on UniMas)
- El Cartel (1 & 2)
- Donde Esta Elisa
- Victoria

Also:

- La Promesa (UniMas)
- El Secretario (original version of Porque El Amor Manda)
- Made In Cartagena (UniMas)
- Metastasis (UniMas)
- La Suegra
- Las Muñecas De La Mafia (UniMas)

I'm sure they'll keep on adding more.

Pasion y Poder sounds good. Jorge Salinas, oh yeah!

I hope that it is good since the director is the same who directed La Malquerida, Jose Alberto Castro . I am kind of suprised and intrigued by the casting. It seems to have gotten it right this time. Atleast for now.

Thanks you, Mauricio! And thank you and Eli for the Netflix info. I haven't had Netflix for a while, but that list looks tempting.

cathyx, it's like they've included a little something for everyone :D

Countx, "for now." Yep!

What is P And P supposed to be about?

My sarcastic answer: Colunga and Salinas taking turns reading the phone book.

What? I'd watch.

Do you mean it doesn't matter what it's about because Colunga and Salinas are in it?
I still would like to know even though.

No, not 100%. I think their participation and Susana G's increases the chances it will be good, but there's never a guarantee. I don't know what it's about, though. I'm just being cheeky. And probably not funny...do phone books even exist anymore?

Lol, 5Ft. They still deliver phonebooks to my house. I wish we could opt out of it.

It's a remake of the 1988 version, but I don't know how much they will change the story. Here's a link to the Wikipedia article but there might be spoilers or incorrect info.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasión_y_poder

cathyx, From the front porch to the recycle bin every single time!

Thanks, Sara!

It's basically two powerful families linked by old and new loves. A past that made them rivals and a present that links them back together. I think Altair Jarabo will play a good and nice character from the begining for once, which sounds intriguing.

Jarocha

¡Gracias Jarocha!

Thank you Sara and Jarocha.

Pasion y Poder does sound interesting. A great cast and a good producer.

Do the telenovelas on Netflix have English subtitles as an option? Like for example, Lo Que La Vida Me Robo and Porque El Amor Manda which had English when they aired on Uni, is Netflix giving English subs as an option....or only Spanish, if anything at all. I don't currently have Netflix so I can't personally check but whether English subs are offered or not is something I would love to know.

As for that new tn, pasion y poder....you had me at Susana Gonzalez and it looks like she's a lead this time instead of special participation like in Sombra so I am definitely in.

P y P cast sounds really good so i will give it a try whenever it starts here.

For now, i hope i will like Muchacha.

Diva - I love phone books and still use them regularly. :-). I am a low tech senior citizen. LOL

Oh by the way, project GIMME BACK MY FEEDS is a success to me. Now the sidebar actually works on my tablet. YAY!!! Thank you!!!!!

Thanks, Countx, Eli, Mauricio for the info on P&P, Netflix, etc. Good times!

Thanks for all the interesting news Kat! Appreciate the new feeds. It's so great you are doing all of this for us.

Vivi, congrats on having one of the most read synopsis. It's no surprise though. Your recaps are always exceptional.

Jarocha, Altair as a good girl?! I was intrigued before (huge Susana fan) but now fervently hope this is on at an early hour. Anon said it best "As for that new tn, pasion y poder....you had me at Susana Gonzalez". And there you have it.

Diana

Mundo de Fieras was also based on P and P but in that story the brothers were twins and one of the brothers fell in a affair with a nanny. It seems that in this story there is no nanny and the brothers are not twins at all.

My apoligies, teacher not nanny.

I found this clip on Youtube and thought others might find it helpful. The narrator, who talks extremely fast with a Boris Karloff accent, reports on the upcoming telenovelas for late 2015, 2016, and 2017. It seems to be a complete list.

I did not know where to post it, since the feed on the sidebar doesn't seem to be kept up to date.

Maybe one of you great recappers with really good Spanish would be willing to translate and posthe during your already jammed-packed schedule.

Think this is to far down to get much attention.

Hmm thanks Anon. The video is very outdated so I wouldn't call it reliable . The latest true news are:

Pasion y Poder ( Remake of Pasion Y Poder. Stars Colunga, Marlene Favela, Jorge Salinas and Susana Gonzales)

A que No me Dejas ( Remake of Amor en Silencio. Stars Leticia Calderon, Arturo Peniche, Alfredo Adame, Camila Sodi, Osvaldo Bonavides)

Antes Que Muere Lichita ( Original telenovela which stars Maite Perroni.)

Simplemente Maria ( Stars Claudia Alvarez. The galans are Jose Ron while Fernando Valencia will be the co-protagonist)

New Telemundo Novelas are :

Dona Barbara ( Remake of Dona Barbara starring Aracely Arambula)

La Querida De Centauro ( Stars Ludwika Paleta , Michel Brown , Humberto Zurita)

Quien Es Quien ( Starring Danna Paola and Eugenio Siller)

Bajo El Mismo Cielo ( Based on the movie " A better life" starring Gabriel Porras, Maria Elisa Camargo)

El Senor de los Cielos Season 4 ( Yes that goddamn show is still airing now at 241 episodes !)

Jarocha, thank you for the info on PyP...that was much more poetic and a better summation than the Wikipedia entry!

Anonymous 9:21 I bet Netflix won't really give an answer on that--it probably depends on the show and your TV's setup. When we used to get the physical disks from them, that's how it was anyway.

doris, you're a classic ;) Thank you...I'm glad the sidebar is working for you. I'll still be a few more months doing the older shows, but I'm happy this has been so well-received.

Diana, thank you :)

Anonymous 7:50 this is just the kind of feedback I'm looking for as I continue working on the blog! Please let me know what browser you're using to access the site. Could you elaborate on the sidebar not being up to date? Which feed did you attempt to access? Are you referring to your comment, the post, or the YouTube vid when you say it's too far down to get much attention?

Countx, thanks for that update! Bajo El Mismo Cielo started a few weeks ago and there are discussions and recaps on the Telemundo y Mas post.

Anon 9:21,

Netflix does offer English subtitles for the telenovelas.

Also Angelique Boyer and Sebastian Rulli are set for Lazos de Amor remake with Lucero. THE BEST NEWS is that Carla Estrada is in talks with Adela Noreiga fir her upcoming production.

Diva
I think I just didn't scroll down far enough. I'm use to the older format where upcoming novelas were shown in an easy-to-read list, IMHO, together with the corresponding producer and approximate start date if known. The older format didn't have comments or extraneous information.
I don't remember who kept it up.

But hey, I love the new and improved index feeds.
They work great on my Samsung Note 4 with Google.

The things you guys do for this blog never ceases to amaze me.

Do you meant this post?

http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2013/04/producers-novelographies-updated.html

Sara,
Yes I believe that is the one. The only thing different I remember is smaller, unusual font, with some in blue ,maybe green. .
Do you think that's what I'm remembering.

Mauricio, thanks for the subtitle info!

Victoria, I'm not sure which post it was, but I think including a list is a good idea. I'll warn you now, I am totally dependent on y'all to help me keep it updated :D

Victoria: Hmm. Nothing else comes to mind. Maybe the original author edited the post and took out some of the colors?

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful :-(

Paging Vivi.....

;-)

OK, I added a list to the original post, based on just this week's comments. I can make edits as more information gets posted and carry it forward from week to week. We'll see how this works.

You guys are incredible! !!

Lo Imperdonable needs a Wednesday recapper.

Based on talks in the Muchacha Italiana thread, we're gauging interest for the following proposal:

Caray, Caray! Awards, to be presented in January, with awards for shows, recaps, and comments.

How would this work? Well, that's what we have to figure out. What the categories are, what shows are eligible, how to gather nominations for the various categories, and how to handle voting. First thing is probably to get a dedicated committee of 4-5 people together who are willing to work on this and establish a timeline.
