Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #18 Thu 9/17/15 (Mex 23)

Highlights. Out of order. Condensed.

Straight to the new.

Roxi and Sergio arrive both are showing the signs of their partying the night before. Serigo asks again why Frederica was in his mothers room. Frederica explains again that she was just looking for some peace and quiet. Sergio wonders if she just wanted to fisgonear (poke around.)  Rox asks them not to talk so much and gets into is with Joaquina. After she drives Joaquina away, she asks Simona about Benito. Frederica thinks maybe Rox likes Benito. Rox stomps off. Sergio has never liked Frederica. She's always doing things behind peoples backs. Frederica doesn't like Sergio, who is a little to out in the open with everything. Sergio admits it. What you see is what you get. Frederica is a snake slithering around in corners.

Eloisa gives Julieta and us the info about Aitana and Pedro. The wedding was all planned and ready, but they cancelled at the last minute because of stupid misunderstandings. Julieta asks if there was cause for any of the suspicions. Eloisa surely doesn't think so. Aitana is the perfect girl for Pedro. Julieta has always seen Pedro as a perennial bachelor. Not the noviero type (always falling in love.) Eloisa thinks all he needs is the right woman.

Fi spazzes in the hospital. Gi tells her to chill. Everyone will realize how she feels about Pedro. Fi asks Gael what happened. More spazzing.

Sonia thinks they should tell Eloisa. Osvaldo thinks they should wait.

Dante tries to convince the police(?) not to investigate. The Ángeles family hates scandal. Too bad. Gunshot cases get investigated. Dante tries in vain to convince the guy it was an accident and even tries to offer a bribe. This offends the guy who says he could arrest Dante. The guy assures Dante they will be discreet. Frederica calls right after this and finds out about the "accident." Dante tells her not to call Eloisa. He could get in trouble. He's the security chief.

Reynaldo comes to La Dolce Vita to see Vito. He sees Diana and greets her warmly. Obviously they know each other. ooops. Rey asks about the baby, too. "Whaaaa? Baby???" Asks Vito. Diana tells them that she lost the baby....oh someone forge an anvil for this gold digger.

The doctor informs everyone that Pedro is stable. Fi wants to see him. Requisite classicism. "She's just a servant. She won't be seeing him anyway." Fi tells her sister that come hell or high water, Fi will get in to see Pedro.

Rox tells Benito to stay away from Gi or she'll get Fi and Gi deported.

Sonia asks Osvaldo about the "accident." Osvaldo accuses her of having an affair with Pedro. He knows she was at the hotel with him. Sonia denies it and reminds Osvaldo that Pedro is dying. Sonia suddenly realizes that Osvaldo shot Pedro out of jealousy. Gael overhears it and also accuses Osvaldo. Osvaldo denies it again. Dante comes up too. The police want to ask a few questions.

Fi, dressed as a nurse, cries and tells an unconscious Pedro to get better. She also asks him why he was at a hunt, in the woods and generally putting himself in danger. He has to get better. She gives him a card of San Biacho. Too lazy and I don't have time to look that up. Someone had it in another recap. Pedro starts coding. Fi hides when the doctors come in. They stabilize Pedro. Fi tells Pedro again to get better.

(Gi was the one who got the nurses uniform for Fi. And Gi won't tell her sister much about the visit with the doctor.)

At the retreat, Julieta remembers her past. She had a thing with a guy who liked to shower. Unfortunately, this guy is engaged to a girl named Flavia. This is not good considering Past!Julieta is pregnant. Shower guy vaguely hints that they need to "solve" this problem. Past!Julieta is horrified. Present Julieta cries.

Despite it being Benito's day off, Rox will require his services. Come look for her in the sauna in an hour.

Rey tells Adela about running into Diana at Vito's. Adela is sad to hear Diana lost her baby.

The doctor tells the family about Pedro's latest crisis. Dante informs them that anyone who visits Pedro will be supervised. Fi still wants to see Pedro. Sonia tells her she shouldn't even be there. Fi wants to see Pedro. Gi tell Fi not to risk another disguise. Meh. They don't listen to each other.

Frederica calls Dante and leaves a message. She has the papers with her. She and Sergio run into each other and the papers fly everywhere. Sergio sees them. When asked, she claims she has no idea what they are. Her lawyer just asked for some papers of her father's.

And now for the ridiculous portion of our programming. Eloisa remembers her past. Maximo is dying of cancer and he's in pain. He wants Eloisa to help him die. So she smothers him with a pillow. At this point wouldn't they be running a morphine drip? She couldn't just open that sucker wide open? She smothers him? And does some mute button-inducing screaming as well (seriously, there have been some wildly overacted scenes in this TN...go ahead, bitch about my attitude. I'm used to it.) Eloisa passes out.

Benito comes to Rox in the sauna. He finally gets her attention. She tells him to come into the sauna. She doesn't want to go anywhere any more. She wants "something else". She's looking more like a lizard  than a racoon in this scene (or maybe a horse?...not a good camera angle. Just sayin'.) Benito hopes she's wanting a Piña colada. Rox wonders if he likes that "italianita" more than her.

Adela runs into Diana's mom and the baby at the market. "It's my grandson." Diana=busted.

Sonia threatens to tell everyone that Osvaldo shot Pedro on purpose. Osvaldo threatens to tell the family about her thing with Pedro. Except that really doesn't exist...so I'm thinking that for now, Sonia has the upper hand. She seems to think so as well. Does he think she's going to keep quiet about Osvaldo trying to kill Pedro? Ok, I didn't quite get it, but I did get that the police dude totally heard her say something about Osvaldo trying to kill Pedro.

Frederica is still nagging at Dante. Sergio found her with the papers. She covered, but she doesn't know if Sergio believed it. Dante thinks they don't have to worry. Sergio talks a lot, but never does anything. She's made copies of the papers. Dante fills her in on Pedro.

Fi sneaks into Pedro's room. He's barely conscious. He says he loves her. She loves him, too. She's the mujer of his life. He wants her by him always. Poor Fi. She says they can't be together because....but they end up kissing. And Dante opens the door and sees them.

Thank you Sara! Another great recap from you this week.

There is one more bit about Julieta's memory about being young, unmarried, knocked up, and with an unsympathetic boyfriend. She was in Italy, studying for a year (enough time to pop out a baby and keeping secret from folks back in Mexico), and her boyfriend was Italian. We're getting closer to finding out how she could be Fi's mom.

Osvaldo is so stupid to be letting everyone know he is ticked at Pedro because he thinks he's having an affair with Sonia. He's just screaming MOTIVE!

Thanks, Sara.

Does Oz ever smile , or is he perpetually disgruntled and snarling? Such a tool.

I thought that the unconscious kiss was better than the large mouth bass in the water kiss.

I wonder if Aiana will turn up at Pedro's bedside. That hospital room is going to get crowded.

Diana has crossed the line for me by saying that she lost her
baby..awful. I do not like the way she is treating Vito...methofically seducing the old dude so that she and her baby can be taken care of.

Yeah, keeping your kid a secret is bad, but forgivable. Saying your kid died, is shiver inducing. Then that look on her face when Vitto hugged her was creepy.

Hola, Sara. Great coverage, as usual. Thank you so much.

Wow, we are getting some down and dirty coverage of past happenings. So Eloisa is technically a murderer, Julieta had a kid and by some means left it behind, and Osvaldo is an attempted murderer, which he seems to be willing to share with anyone who will listen, although denying it.

It's funny that Osvaldo accused Sonia of the specific sin of cheating on him with Pedro, rather than the more general question as to whether she had been unfaithful to him. Sonia could be strapped up to a lie detector machine and easily pass when confronted with the question as to whether she had slept with Pedro.

Too bad for Osvaldo that he didn't serve a hitch in the army. Had he known more about weapons, Pedro would be a dead man. (As a matter of fact, it is too bad that ALL these second and third generation kids never did anything but sit around on their collective asses and take advantage of the family fortune without ever lifting a finger to improve themselves or have an impact on the world around them.)

So we have two mothers rattling around the house who gave up their babies by some means.

Ah, and the lovely Aitana. I love that name. So how exactly will she become the pot stirrer as she is reintroduced to Pedro?

Dante continues to amass more secrets about the family. I wonder what his beef is exactly that causes him to want to do the family harm?

Thanks again, Sara. Very cool.

David

Vivi...yes, what was up with the look thatDiana had on her face when she was hugging Vitamix ? Muy, muy creepy. She is so cold and calculating as she lays that sugar on him.

Off to identify pancakes to prove that I am not a robot. Now I want pancakes. I need breakfast !

Sara, yet another stirring recap from you. I don't know how you do it...This was informative and lively, full of your trademark wry humor.

"Requisite classicism", "She had a thing with a guy who liked to shower" and "She's looking more like a lizard than a racoon in this scene (or maybe a horse?...not a good camera angle. Just sayin')" (very odd indeed) were among my favorites.

Thanks to the hapless Reynaldo, Diana had the perfect opportunity to tell Vito the truth. I had hoped she felt a scintilla of affection for Vito but from the evil stare on her face when he hugged him, it appears as though that is far from the case. I was surprised that the lying revelation was uttered and disproven so quickly "Diana=busted", but I'm sure Vito will be the last to know.

Thoroughly enjoyed Fi outwitting Dante and sneaking into Pedro's room. Pedro has now melted and is puddling. I'm sure a variety of trouble awaits, including Fi's guilt about Vito, which she continues to ponder but do nothing about.

One mother denies, one mourns.

Sara, thank you!

Diana

Grazie, Sara! Mille grazie! Okay, Novela!Diana has lost me. It's not cool to lie that you don't have a child but I figured she was just as shady as Vitto sending a 40 year old picture of himself to Fifi but to "kill" your baby to hook a man? No. And she even did the evil shifty eyed thing behind Vitto's back. Hhmph! Well, they STILL may be moral twins and deserve each other. He called her "mi amor" and stated their luck may have changed. I don't know what the novella gods think about lying that your baby died, but this dut'n look good for Diana!

....now for the ridiculous portion of our programming. You called it, sister! Say what! Yah. Smothering your beloved with a pillow. I guess this was before Jack Kervorkian. haysoo creesto!

I loathe Roxi

Wondering why they put that first visit with Fifi in that ended with poor Pedro crashing? Weird. But! It ended with a kiss and it wasn't creepy because he had declared his love and Fifi (sort of) reciprocated the declaration! Fifi, you don't tell a man in Pedro's condition after he has just professed his love to you that you cannot be together. You should've just kept that part and kissed him! Okay, okay, what's done is done. Your just a pure, honest soul. Anywhoo! Liked the kiss. Tender and quietly passionate as befits Pedro's delicate condition.

Grazie nuovamente, amica mia!

Lila

Sara,

You have an incredible knack for the short, sweet detailed recap, I always love them. Just this week I finished racing through my backlog of taped episodes, then last night the DVR recording was a mess with stops and starts, tiling and skips. Sooo glad I had your dry wit filled recap for backup, thanks Sara.

Lila, on Fifi, “Your just a pure, honest soul.” I’m going to keep that as my silent mantra, I’m still having to try and understand and more importantly like our heroine. ....just a pure, honest soul.......just a pure, honest soul. I really think that is a helpful way to look at her!

It is always surprising when a person lies when the truth will do. Diana’s mother keeps Beto 24/7, she isn’t depending on traditional child care. I think with that explanation, Vitamix (good one Susanlynn) could have been satisfied. Saying your child is dead is bad, real bad. Sorta glad I missed the evil hug smile.

Sandy! :D Wonder what ole devil Dante is going to do about the witnessed kiss?

Lila

Another home run Sara. Bless you for wading through all that last night and giving us a great, concise recap.

And I couldn't agree more that we are getting some truly over the top emoting in this show. One time, bad acting, twice...well??? Three, Four, bet it's the direction. Are they playing this like a fairy tale farce and all the characters are to the extreme? Because, then I would get it. That smothering scene? I think I sat there with my mouth open not really believing what I was seeing.

But seeing Dante in that scene makes me wonder. What if, and I don't like the guy mind you, but what if his whole thing with Freddy is making sure he knows everything she is doing because she's the loose cannon that could take things down? Maybe he's protecting Eloisa and playing a con on Freddy? Something isn't adding up there.

Didn't like the character of Diane before, REALLY don't like her now. That look on her face when she hugged Victim, er meant Vitto, was disgusting. You can do well by your child without lying and conniving. Just saying.

Yeah, Julieta is Fi's mom. I'll go there. I still fall back on that call of the blood look a few days back when they met. Not so subtle set up.

Gees, I really hate the Roxy character. We need her in this why? She jumps on that bed one more time like a two year old and I say someone put her in time out and keep her there until this show is over.

Daisynjay

Lila, Dante seems to be a font of purloined info, having him in cahoots with Freddy makes them a very devilish duo...

UA, have you ever done a Saturday post about novela pairings that seem weird? If you did, I'd vote Dante and Freddie as candidates!

"Purloined". Sandy, that right there is one sweet word! :D

Lila

Lila, did I spell it right? I screw up spelling even with spell check!

Yes ma'am, you sure did!

Great stuff, Sara. Grazie tanto.

Wow.

Hector died less than a year ago. If there had been the morphine drip and Eloisa opened it up she would be just as guilty and could end up in prison. But the bigger question is: Why was Dante even in the room?

I can also buy the idea that Dante is keeping track of Federica's actions with the possibility of lowering the boom on her at a later date. Maximo got him out of juvie a long time ago and as far as I can determine right now he was loyal to him from that day forward. He should be equally loyal to Eloisa.

Santino (the Italian guy in the shower) is a total cad, but Julieta is a total bitch for taking this out on all Italians. If she is Fiorella's egg donor there will be fireworks when that is revealed.

I agree about Diana. She is a gold-digger and is looking forward to Vittorio's dinero.

Thanks everyone! I've been testing all day, but I've enjoyed reading the comments!

SARA--oops, I hurriedly misread your previous comment as "I've been tasting all day..." Gave me a chuckle. Anyway, Thank You for a meaty, juicy recap. I somehow missed Eloisa and the pillow, was Dante just standing there like a lumP?

DaisynJay, I agree there's an argument to be made that Dante may be a dark horse, out to protect the name of the family at all costs. The "romance" between him and Fedd is about on the par with two cement trucks parked next to each other, just saying...

Also, I agree that the kiss by the half-dead Pedro was an improvement on Kiss 1.0.
Oh well. Maybe he is warming up.

Thanks again Sara!

Sara – Thank you for the recap! 4:29 p.m. EDT and the first time I’ve sat in front of the computer all day. I loved “ ....now for the ridiculous portion of our programming.” Yes, this telenovela requires a beanie hat at all times.

I’ll have to FFWD thru my recording to assess the Kiss 2.0. {grins}

So Eloisa offed Maximo? Was he begging her to do it , like, “the pain is killing me so end it puh-eeze?”

” . . . Dante may be a dark horse, out to protect the name of the family at all costs.”
This makes the most sense to me, too. Great Crockpot Theory™!!!

Thanks so much Sara. It's been a busy day, a funeral for the first half and about to leave for a wedding reception after a lovely ceremony at church. But no time to read the recap. Perhaps I'll savor it over the weekend, but again, let me tell you how much I appreciate all the work you do, recapping a number of telenovelas and spicing up the line with your great comments as well. What a community.

Wait. I'm not on EDT! I'm on CDT. Already my beanie hat is too tight. ;-)

Sara, thank you for this to the point recap.
The people, some of the people in this family
Are very mean and cruel.
Sara you're right about the morphine drip, they could afford that, they're terribly rich. Her smothering him just adds to the drama. And
Sergio is rigjt about freddy, I don't care much
For her. Someone willing to do anything to
Get what they want and going as far as throw
-ing inocent people under the bus, people
That have nothing to do with her bad revenge sceams is not going to have a good ending.
Tho she does have reason to be pissed, that
collateral damage is going to come back and bite her in the a$$. I don't like her or her hats.
When pedro and fiorella go in for a kiss, its
Like they're breathing in each others oxygen.
They probably use listerine.;-)

Thank you, Sara! I always appreciate your talent for summarization.

Gracias for "noviero" that's a new one for me.

"Dante tells her not to call Eloisa. He could get in trouble. He's the security chief." I have yet to see any evidence that he actually IS the security chief. Blackmail is the only thing keeping him in a job.

I agree about Maximo's death. I think the smothering was for effect. As was having Eloisa do it. We're to believe they didn't have a doctor who would have discreetly handled the whole thing? Suuuuure....

"I did get that the police dude totally heard her say something about Osvaldo trying to kill Pedro." Awesome! For once somebody gets overheard when they're talking about things they shouldn't in public!

"She says they can't be together because....but they end up kissing." I'm sure the painkillers have some part in this, but I don't care...I'm just going to go with it!
