Lo Imperdonable #115 Mon 10/26/15 The cousins chase Vero, who is running from Marty, who is pursued by Aarón, who is wanted all over Mexico. Got that?
- Half of the estate goes to Ana Perla and her husband.
- Joaquín and Raymunda do, in fact, own their house.
- The Old Goat's house is in Ana Perla's name.
Labels: imperdonable
I was disappointed that Veronica did believe in the lies that Daniel fed her. I was hoping that she hadn't since she didn't seem too convinced. Oh well. Hopefully, she'll recover her memories by tonight and we can move on from this.
I think Salma did confirm that Virginia had been involved in Mati's death. She muttered a "yes" I believe. It's too late to save Virginia's soul. Salma should have done that a long time ago instead of blindly defending her all the time.
I loved how Nanci told Manny that his end is near. I feared for her a life for a moment there but was glad that she was able to get the upper hand.
Manny is such a dummy. He must have not realized that of course there would have to be another copy of the will. I was glad that Raymunda and Joaquin were able to get their hands on it.
So now Aaron is at the top of Mexico's Most Wanted. Okay. And now he has Marty trapped. Will this be the end of Aaron? Will Marty do him in self defense? We'll have to stay tuned.
I have never watched the show and don't plan on watching the end.
I simply skim for the Spanish idioms. Now, I have a new one to learn,
A mí, nadie va a echarme la sal! Love it! All of my friends (or enemies) will be forewarned.)
All the best!
I have no idea what is going to happen tonight (and I don't want to know), but in these kinds of melodramas, we know it gets very dicey at this point. We also know that the arch villains manage to hold on until the bitter end. At least some people KNOW for sure that Vero is alive and Marty BELIEVES that Vero is alive, though he may doubt his perception if it isn't confirmed very soon. That means adios to emotionally tone-deaf Rebeca, right? That's worth cheering about.
Thank you, Mauricio!
So Salma confirmed that Virginia was involved in Mati's death? Thanks for pointing that out – I'll have to change that in the recap.
"I loved how Nanci told Manny that his end is near. I feared for her a life for a moment there but was glad that she was able to get the upper hand."
Ooh, me too. I admit I loved the whole scene. It was just the kind of kitschy over-the-topness I expect in a Mejía novela. I was a bit worried too, but on the whole, I trusted Nanciyaga's resourcefulness, strength and magical powers. And now we KNOW that Manny's fate is sealed, right?
What fun to see you on this side of the tracks! I'm immensely flattered that you bothered to take a look at the recap even though you aren't following the show.
yes, that "echarle sal a alguien" idiom is interesting. There's a related phrase In the next line that I translated very freely as "your bad-luck mouth." What he says in Spanish is "tu boca salada," literally, your salty mouth, but in this context, your mouth that always augurs ill or brings bad luck.
So, Amnesiac Vero escapes from a doctor that gave her a very bad vibe, fed her lies for like 1 day and a half, then she meets a whole passel of nice people (including a kid) who tell her it was all a lie, and she STILL chooses to believe creepy doc's tale? Is she also brain damaged?
Looking forward to see what Pablo has in store for Marianna. It must be public humiliation of some sort.
I have been in Mexico City a few times over the years. I was shaking my head in wonder at how all these people could be serendipitously running into each other on the same block. The magic of tns. I'm just glad it was Marty Aaron nabbed and not Vero. She'd probably look at his scrubs and believe every word he says.
I was curious about other rompe- compounds. I already knew 'rompecabeza,' literally a head-breaker, but used to mean a jigsaw puzzle. I found a few others in the dictionary, including a couple that are too vulgar to list here. :)
rompehielos: icebreaker
rompehuelgas: strikebreaker
rompenueces: nutcrackers
rompeolas: breakwater
Actually Vero has suffered head injuries more than once, poor thing, so believing the lies isn't so much a choice for her as an unfortunate consequence of her vulnerable state.
yes, I'm also thinking Pablo is planning some sort of public humiliation for Mariana.
"I'm just glad it was Marty Aaron nabbed and not Vero. She'd probably look at his scrubs and believe every word he says."
hee hee. You're right.
Loved reading all the comments as well.
I have to say that I think it was really, really wrong of the cousins, et cetera, not to inform Martín about Verónica being alive as soon as they could. I believe that if all of them banned together, they are more than capable of protecting Vero from running away. Even Blanca's extraordinary brain cells aren't working here. If I were in a similar situation and people who care about me withheld the fact that my supposed dead spouse is indeed alive, I would be furious.
I too was disappointed that Vero is now believing Dr. D's lies, given that she ran away from him and appeared to not trust him! Doesn't make sense.
Looking forward to Pablo's surprise for Mariana. Public humiliation would be very fitting.
Loved the scene with Nanci. Her prediction of a terrible end for Manny is something I can't wait to see happen.
I'm worried about Marty. I hope it's not his funeral we're seeing in the avanzas.
Be gone, Rebeca. She's really on my nerves now.
Oh no, Mari! I'm going to stick my fingers in my ears so I can't hear you!!! :-)
You're so right about the obligation to tell Martín. But the poor Goat family hasn't made a whole lot of good choices up to now, has it? Joaquín was really pushing to tell Marty, but he got drowned out by the others.
Yes, indeed. Rebeca begone! (You don't suppose she really will be used as a sacrifice if one of Vero's cockamamie enemies knocks off the wrong young woman with long, dark hair? Ugh.)
Yes, Joaquín, did try but he was defeated by the ladies. Our sassy little Polo just looked bewildered, and who can blame him!
Hmm...that's a thought about Rebeca. While the woman is completely irritating at this point, she doesn't deserve that....yet.
So many great lines as usual.---Walk softly but carry a big machete.
The Little Dummy Redux?---Wait, this is spunky Blanca we're talking about.
Astral transport---hamster wheels spinning---let's go with the flow
Mariana continues to smile more than a normal person ought to smile.
We're coming down the stretch and NM you are helping to make it an EXCELLENT stretch run.
Floridia---Too bad you have missed this excellent novela. It's been a blast.
Manny should know better than to mess with Nanciyaga. He should have had a talk with Carlos before he tried a stunt like that. Carlos would have set him straight on the wiles of Jungle Woman Nanci. I'm surprised that Manny didn't know any better.
The previews did go by fast but it does appear that there is at least one more death
Well we know through Nanci that Manny will be going to the great beyond soon, but beyond Manny? Guesses are free. Salma, Botel?
must see tv
the gringo
"Manny should know better than to mess with Nanciyaga."
So true. And yet when has Manny ever known better? He is the one character that has consistently done the wrong thing from the first moment we met him. He really is the man with the evil insides (mala entraña).
(The world would be a better place if people listened to Nanciyaga more... well, except when she's crushing on someone like Marty. Then she's not so reliable.) LOL
Your headings were even more fun. Loved 'em all, but my faves were
Chelas reminds Aaron that it's polite to share
Los Oliviers where the guests frequently meet with near death experiences
and
Marianna continues to smile more than a normal person ought to smile
Perhaps it is simply a grimace, resulting from being squeezed into another 3 sizes too small outfit. Surprised she can even breathe.
This continues to be a mind-boggling romp. But as long as we keep learning Spanish, it's all good.
Thanks for your wit, your translations of interesting idioms and your God-given ability to once more spin dross into comic gold...
Aaaaa-choooo!
This episode was so annoying that the cousins were hiding Vero from Martin. I was so annoyed with Joaquin because he saw how Martin was grieving at the grave and mine! What kind of silliness is that? On top of all what Martin has done to help their family. Arrghhh!
Vero I don't understand why she would think Martin would do her harm especially since she doesn't trust the doctor. If she doesn't trust the doctor then she not believe Martin will harm her.
The ending was annoying. Why couldn't Martin run faster? So Ana P, Vero, Blanquita and Polo didn't see Aaron with the gun?!
What if we create a new category of monster cold? un resfriadazo, say, or un resfriadón? A nose by any other name would still be miserable. Don't be like Virginia – take care of yourself!
How embarrassing that you know my foibles so well. :-)
¡Abrazos con sopa de pollo!
Oh Carvivlie,
Your imagination is leading you to some dark places today!!! Rebeca a crazed killer? Yikes.
I agree there was a lot of aggravating stuff in this one.
"On top of all what Martin has done to help their family. Arrghhh!"
Yup, exactly.
I'm still giving Vero a pass on her behavior. She is hurt and drugged and really doesn't know what she's doing. I love the way Ana Brenda is playing it, though. You can really see the person underneath struggling to emerge.
Goodness...Rebecca is annoying but I don't see her as a potential assassin. Still, with this director, anything is possible. Let the games begin!
So Manny is going to die a terrible death. We see him or we think that it's him on Ana Perla's lap after he has been stabbed. Is he going to get more that this? I'm staying tuned.
So there is a wake for someone and everyone's favorite viper is there. Will she be shedding fake tears again? She knows how to turn on the waterworks.
the gringo
I forgot to add, why didn't Martin answer Virginia's phone? He could have easily done that to confirm.
Good point, Duchess. Marty could have taken Aarón's call, though I suppose Aarón would have hung up when someone other than Ginny answered.
So then, gringo and mari, we are in agreement – the warrior goddess is not to be blamed! :-) And yes, let's bring on the warrior!
Vivi, that's great that you will be joining us for the final week of this novela.
JudyB, I'm sorry to hear that you have a bad cold. Hope you feel better soon.
Duchess, good point. He could have just answered the phone.
I haven't been a fan of Nancy but I was so happy to see her tell off Manny and fight him back. I can't stand seeing characters like Magdalena just go limp when they are being attacked by a POS. When Aaron attacked Magda recently I was screaming for her to run to the kitchen and grab a knife. And when he grabbed her I was begging for her to give him a good kick! So it was a pleasure watching Nancy hurt Manny.
I was also frustrated that Vero believed the lies but I also agree that she gets a pass because she's hurt, scared and confused.
Looking forward to tonight!
"I can't stand seeing characters like Magdalena just go limp when they are being attacked by a POS."
Amen! One thing you have to say about Nanciyaga – the woman knows how to defend herself.
Carvivlie, I think that's an interesting question about Rebeca. It will be fun to see what the monkeys come up with for them.
As for Emi and Claudia, I'm not really feeling it. They both seem to be settling; and in telenovelas, people don't settle... or do they?
Thanks for the extra rompe vocab. I can think of at least one other that would be
unmentionable.
Hi, to Gringo, my ally from Amores verdaderos -- standing firmly by Cristina.
You probably know that EY is in a US film with FC. I plan to see it.
I have been watching a riveting TN on Telemundo, Bajo el mismo cielo.
NovelaMaven writes occasional recaps.
All the best to all,
I was really upset about the Goat gals' decision to hide Vero's reappearance from Martin. That is just plain wrong.
I also wanted Martin to just answer Ginny's phone. Or when she passed out, to grab it and check the missed calls, and while he was at it, peruse the photos. There are a few there that he would find rather interesting. Oh well, I guess even superhero galans miss the boat every now and then.
BTW, it was due to Superhero Martin that the copy of the Old Goat's will was located. They had asked him to help, and that would be why he was there with Joaquin and Raymunda.
Is the incriminating photo that Mati stashed behind the virgincita ever going to be found? Don't they ever dust in that mansion?
NM, you outdid yourself with this one. So many funny bits and a delight to read. Thank you!
I think the scene with Manny and Nanci was my favorite. She played the avenging angel quite convincingly. Looking forward to seeing Manny suffer excruciating torment.
Liked the way you questioned V snake being stable. I promise that she wouldn't be wearing another version of a silly little red cape if she were stable.
You could be right about that, Carolina. Marty had indeed just visited Botel, but I thought I heard Ana Perla say they were taking Vero to Blanca's nursing school because there were doctors there who could help her. I also thought we saw the school itself a few times and it was not TOMCIMC. In fact, it looked like the same location used in Telemundo's Los Miserables – a real, old-school kind of DF hospital that is no longer being used as such.
The fact is you and I have probably just given this far more thought than the monkey writers ever did. :-)
"BTW, it was due to Superhero Martin that the copy of the Old Goat's will was located. They had asked him to help, and that would be why he was there with Joaquin and Raymunda."
yes, exactly! I remember thinking at the time that they had a lot of nerve asking Marty for favors. Now that I think of it, it was only when Marty felt NEEDED that he became somewhat functional and was no longer sunk in a catatonic pit of grief.
The same point is being made about Botel – he is deaf to all those entreaties to be brave, but when Magdalena needs him, he makes a Herculean effort to get out of bed and into that despised wheelchair.
That's not bad psychology, monkey writers! Have an extra banana! The Patio is buying.
Aren't we all, La Paloma?
"Liked the way you questioned V snake being stable. I promise that she wouldn't be wearing another version of a silly little red cape if she were stable."
Yes, that's probably true. I kept the the fashion police out of the recap this time, but I'm glad you invited them back in. And I'm glad you liked the recap!
Thanks for the marvelous recap. Excellent as always. I too am sick of this ridiculous last minute amnesia bit. Please monkey writers, give Vero her memory back. We only have 5 episodes left. I haven't gotten to all the comments yet, so not sure if this was mentioned, but it would be lame to wait until the last episode for Vero to get her memory back.
Mauricio,
I had not formally thanked you for Fridays recap. I did read and love it. I just ran out of time this weekend. But please know that I thoroughly enjoyed every word and appreciate your hard work.
Hasta Pronto
the gringo
A bit funny.
"Was manuel making smoores in his indoor fire Pit"?
And then nanci girl comes in dancing and foggin Up the place and aggrevating, the annoying Manny.
"Its what goes around, that comes around" for salms. Remember when she called magda a Whore. What came out of her daughters mouth? And its wores for her, her own kid Threw it back in her face. The way she said Veronica was her, her kid is and wores.
"Decieving me, jorge says.
"Because I loved you, I have always loved you, say salma". So she lied to him because she loved him. ok then, we're all set. NO!!!
[Mariana do you have no irony detectors at all], "didn't your momma teach you anything?" apparently monts didn't teach her anything except that "baby you are number one nobody else but you", which is why she can only see herself and what she wants. that's why she can't see what's coming. A big surprise!!!!!
Its wonferfull that jorge Is now using his 4
Brain cells. Now everything is becoming clear to him. but his daughter had to die for that to happen, because he doesn't know that she's not dead but in his mind she's dead and now his brain cells have awakened. Yaaaaay!!!!
Now that the will has been read it seems that ana perla Is going to get everything. yes she has half now but after manny is dead she's going to get everything. And share with the rest of the family. okay that's all for now I gotta recharge my phone.
and that wasn't a spoiler thing about Manny being dead y'all know he going to die it's already been spoken by smoky Nancy herself.
great recap Novela!!! :-D
I for one am not looking forward to Pablo's revenge. He should look inward since he is at least as culpable for his Mariana problem as Mariana herself. Why is he even still involved with her? He doesn't want her but he is more than happy to prosper from the benefits that she offers.
Loved, loved, loved Nanciyaga's home invasion. As much fondness as I have for Virginia, Nanci has always managed win my admiration. While her obsession with Martín was unfortunate, her strength, honesty, and independence are feminine traits we could stand to see more of in these TNs. What a genuinely unique and refreshing character.
So why is Rebeca even here? Is there even time enough left for her to have any significant impact?
Carlos
Thanks to all of the recappers-- another week of not catching up on watching or reading till the weekend and it seemed too late to comment by then. I cannot tell you how much more enjoyable TNs are because of the amazingly talented recappers on this site. BRAVO AND BRAVA!
Re this story, I fall on the side of those annoyed with the primas for hiding the truth. You don't gid that from the husband! Especially a husband with the resources and brains to get her the best medical help in the city, who would presumably be able to convince her that she wasn't a druggy! I didn't know how Ray and Joaq could look at Marty helping them with the will knowing what they did about Vero.
My dvr cut out before I saw Aaron catch up with Marty so that was a surprise to me. I can't imagine it would be his funeral-- but then I can't imagine who's it would be. I WISH it would Manny's and I think (as these things often do) he should end up trapped in a fire-- even better how about trapped in a fire that he set?! That would be satisfying, no?
I don't know how they are going to tie it all up in a bow by weeks end, but I know they will and I will be enjoying the ride with you folks!
Thanks again,
Rebecca (not the manhunter Marty loving loca one of course)
AuntyAnn,
I'm so glad you had a chance to stop by today. Thank you for the kind words. Vero not getting her memory back until the last episode? Noooooooooooo! Ok, wait... would she get to wear nice clothes again before that and lose the bandage on her head? I could live with that...
Hi nina,
So glad you liked the recap today. I had forgotten about the way Salma treated Magdalena – she has really set herself up for telenovela payback, hasn't she?
I admit I've also thought ahead to what happens to the Goat estate when Manny kicks the bucket. Maybe Virginia will be his widow and the Goat family will have to share everything with her. :-)
Carlos,
Thank you for the lovely comment.
"Why is he [Pablo] even still involved with her?"
While this is not Pablo's finest moment, Mariana is such a stalker. Besides, she admitted that she is only trying to win him back for the pleasure of dumping him.
I'm delighted that you shared my enthusiasm for Nanciyaga's 'home invasion' last night.
"So why is Rebeca even here?"
This is surely a thankless role for the actress. The audience resents her and she probably feels like a bit of an outsider in the cast. Does she fade away gracefully? Does she become a victim because of a superficial resemblance to Verónica? Does she go bonkers, as someone suggested above, when she learns that Vero is alive? All bets are off!
Rebecca Rebecca Rebecca... I could have forgiven you for going after Marty at least a year (as general cultural mourning habits go) after his wife died in a tragic accident. You're a beautiful, worldly gal but this behavior is just "corriente" (cheap and low class although the literal word means "stream" as in a river or "power" as found streaming through a cable) and so you shall remain dead to me until this TN is over. FIN.
Thank you so much for your generous words.
"I didn't know how Ray and Joaq could look at Marty helping them with the will knowing what they did about Vero."
Yes, great point! Even the primas had the grace to look embarrassed and uncomfortable when they met Marty in the street. (But that might have been because they knew Vero was right there, hiding behind that big tree.)
The episode started 4 or 5 minutes after the hour and then ran about 7 minutes into the next show. It's a real challenge to record these things sometimes, isn't it?
JackieV,

hahahaha! Okay, you cracked me up with that. Now we're even. BTW, I think Rebeca justs wants to get a jump on the competition. You know – you snooze, you lose. She sees Miss Universe Emerita out there pretending to settle for Emi...
O hell to the NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! LOL :-D:-D
