Sara! Amiba! Gracias! I don't know what I just watched, but it appears you watched it, too!

Um, well, I can tell you the files thing is because the company is being audited. That maybe about the only thing that made any concrete sense.

That Sonia flashback made it look like she carried the baby to term and THEN the baby died, so I am officially kicking everyone in the Angeles family in the shins who has ever so much as hinted that they think Sonia faked being pregnant. And what the hell, writers?! That's not at all what I thought when she kept saying she "lost" the baby.

I'm going to percolate a bit and see what everyone else comes up with, 'cause I'm sure I have a lot more to rant about.

Who at Telerisa thought it was a good idea to remake this? Seriously. Was the original this bad? Why do I keep watching this?(LOL) are these existential questions? My beanie hat is on so tight that my brain is cramping.

Too many tns and shows to watch right now, so this tn is starting to fall off my watch list. Thanks, Sara, for keeping me up to date. I just need to know when the cute GaGi scenes happen, and I'll make a point of watching those.

So why exactly does Fi need to see a shrink? I could suggest a few other people in that house before getting to her.
 

I don't think Fed every made a strong case for getting some help beyond, Fi was very distraught. Which is a totally valid reason, but didn't this all take place over about a day? Maybe two? I think it's a little much to expect someone to be ok after having nearly been run over and had her friend in the hospital and having just broken up with her non-boyfriend for the millionth time all the the span of 48 hours.
 

Thank you Sara for the recap. Hello folks, actually this was a 3 episode in one editing so today univision chopped more than usual. In Mexico Benito was 3 episodes in the hospital and believe me that it was worst than what univision aired today.
 

Vivi there were no happy scenes between gael and gianna today. Gael got jealous because gianna was very worried of benito. I dont know how much they cutted from the hospital but I remember that besides jealousy there were scenes in the school that univsion chopped today in which gael doesnt want to present gianna to his friends.

Perhaps for once, Looneyvision has good reason to edit, chop, and condense a telenovela. Still, MIVAC might be better placed on the afternoon TV schedule instead of prime time.



And to think .... a year ago today I was blissfully enjoying Reina de Corazones on Telemundo. ~sigh~
 

Sara? Seriously. I thought your recap was so clever.

There was nothing not to love. "The Ack-cident" was smile inducing. "Gael has a jealous. I'll cut them both slack for acting like kids because, despite being in med school, they are kids" was my favorite line of many.

I'm going to say a bit shyly that I really like this TN. It's a bit confusing, confounding and frustrating but...I like so many of the characters - primarily Gael, Gi and Benito so don't mind putting up with some off the wall behavior and writing. Marla, thanks for confirming this wasn't a 2, but rather a 3 episode pare down. Unfortunately, I can only see glimpses of this as I have just returned to work and 7 is a very tough time for me to watch now.

Kat, I did not understand if Sonia's flashback was imagined or real (which was hard to watch). Thanks for your comments.

The night before last, didn't Rox plant a wallet or something belonging to another student in Gi's purse? Did they address that last night? If so, I missed it. I'd like to see more of the hottie Proffie.

And yep, Osvaldo had severe gastro-intestinal distress, they even did that sound effect which signals "the running offs" as we used to call it when I was a kid.

Diva. I am SO with you on "lost the baby"? WTF? And Hell-oisa implying that she really wasn't pregnant? That's what happens when you have bloody clots in the toilet, not when a full term baby is born dead! IDIOTAS!

Oh no, Sara, I can't blame you for invoking La Gata in this and with the above glaring idiocy of faking a stillbirth and the vegematic hack job on THREE episodes, it feels like deja vu all over again!!!!!

Why the hell bother showing the damned thing at all if it's worthy of this hack job? Grrrrrrr!

Yah, Doris, Diva covered it yesterday. Fabio bought some morning after abortion pills - surely a backroom concocted poison mix - from some crooked dude who warned him about using too much and threatened Fabio if he told where he got them from and washed his hands of any responsibility or knowledge if the woman died.

Oh, what day was it, yesterday or today, when Sergio was with Julieta in town, went to get the car and was mugged and severely beaten and kicked by a group of thugs?

I haven't seen the third episode they butchered, but here is some of what got edited out:

Classroom: The girl to Gia's right said her wallet was missing. Rox suggested to the prof that he have everyone open their bags; prof said "No need to do anything that drastic". Gia got suspicious. She checked her bag a minute later when something else was going on, saw the wallet and carefully dropped it under Rox's desk. Someone spotted it, the girl picked it up and confirmed that nothing was missing from it. Rox seemed to realize that Gia was on to her. Nothing else happened except the standard Roxisms about gatas. Gag me.

Hospital: Everybody worried about Benito. Doctor told them he had a hemorrhage in the brain and there was nothing they could do at the moment. Fiorella called Benito's parents, Rox and Gia prayed in the chapel, amazingly not fighting. Gael saw this and got the green-eyed monster because he knows that Benito is competition.

Fiorella refused to listen to Pedro's attempt at explaining he lost control of the car. The usual Italian-movie/Mexican-novela anger scene.

Meanwhile Back at the Ranch: Pedro called Fidel to tell him about the accident. Fidel was with Eloisa, Federica, and Dante. Eloisa felt faint and had to sit on the couch. Federica stayed in the living room while the men walked out. Fidel was determined to find out what was up with the car because he was sure it was fine.

Security guy handed the PI's camera to Sergio in front of Julieta. She figured out that Anibal was behind this because he's determined to leave her with nothing. They looked at the photos in the camera. Sergio told her he would take care of this.

Hey, Urban, thanks for the fill-ins. Is the beat down Sergio got related to Anibal's PI spy dude or was Sergio looking prosperous and on the wrong side of town at the wrong time?

I'm assuming this was episodes 50-52? I don't mind shortening this TN since it's so darn long and getting boring, but Univision is doing a crap job at the editing. Why leave the scene with the wallet in if they cut out the next part that shows what actually happened?
 

Sara, I'm so sorry my dear you had to even try to live through last night. Most of the time I was thinking "what did I miss" as we chopped from one scene to the next. You did this episode more respect than it deserved. Gracias.

So my thinking we have entered into TN cliché territory #3 - or what I like to call the twilight zone. None of the plots will make sense, the characters we love will suddenly go brain dead and make us wonder why the hell we liked them in the first place, the "bad guys" will be doing their thing and handing out the stupid pills to the "good" guys who can't see the forest for the trees. If there is an iota of decent acting and some plot, we stay with the TN...if not, we either have a field day ripping it to shreds or we bail. Even though right now this is the only one I'm watching, I'm getting perilously close to bailing if we keep seeing what we saw last night.

So now Gia and Gael are going stupid, Pedro is just plain stupid, Fi should just pack up and go get a job away from these people and find a life, and what the hell was that with Eloisa cooing over the baby catalog or ads? Sergio and Julietta: if they can't put two and two together who caused him to be beat up and call the cops, whatever.

So my guess is Freddy is moving to off the family as a means to get her end game? So much for any redeeming there. (Still say she learned from her "mother".) Anyone else think Os is being poisoned. If not Freddy, Sonia? And if she can get Os to kill Fab, he gets jailed and she thinks she actually will ride off into the sunset with Pedro. You know what, she just might because he's STOOOPID!

If Fidel swallows the stupid pills, we need to all call it a day. (I'm thinking dart boards across the all the walls. We can sit, drink and throw them anywhere from our seats and we're bound to hit someone.)

Part 2:

Hospital: Aitana showed up, of course. Confrontation with Fiorella, whom she snubbed in the usual way. Fiorella told her that she would never get Pedro to love her the way she wants him to regardless of their history.

More conflict as Adele and Raymundo thought Pedro tried to kill Benito out of jealousy. Vittorio even thinks this. Gia never bought this for a second.

The doctor was giving up hope. Fiorella went into Benito's room and he woke up for her. All are relieved. Rox went back to her usual self. She had to take a cab because Gael drove Gia (I think). Pedro gave up on Fiorella and Aitana thinks she's cashing in.

Office: Federica snooped through the files and couldn't find anything old enough. Got Pedro's secretary's name wrong (deliberately, I think).

Sonia couldn't persuade Assvaldo to see a doctor for the stomach cramps, which bothered him all through a meeting.

Meanwhile Back at the Ranch: Dante watched the adjustment or installation of a security camera near the front door. He and Fidel had words I didn't get but Fidel looked suspicious. Sonia and Assvaldo fought again about Fabio. She admitted that he had taken her to an abortion clinic. Assvaldo flipped again. Ended with him threatening to kill both of them if the baby is Fabio's. Later (probably the next day) Rox threw a tantrum because nobody would drive her to the hospital to see Benito. Fidel told her nobody was allowed to go: Eloisa's decree.

Auto Repair Shop: Fidel had a talk with the guy who last examined the car, but someone else will have to translate that one.
 

Well I'm glad Fidel followed up with the auto shop, but if everyone's true to form, Dante slipped the mechanic a sweet tip to doctor the summary.

Which is ridiculous! Shouldn't the car have been towed away? And if Pedro said the breaks weren't working, shouldn't the cops have investigated that? My beanie's too big to tighten this much.

As annoying as they both are, I feel for Pedro right now. He gives Fi the benefit of the doubt time and again and this is legit. Yes, he was mad at you, but do you really think he'd run you over in broad daylight out of jealousy? I thought she'd figure it out when responding to Fidel, telling him that PEdro looked scared and honked the horn. Which is not what I would do if trying to kill someone.

I'm pissed about the missing Gael/friends scene, but I want to imagine he just doesn't want word getting back to Eloisa. Of course, he was kissing her in front of her classroom, does he think his friends won't notice him bringing a girl to school every day, holding her hand, kissing her? Also annoyed they skipped Rox's promise because I want to know what she offered up in exchange for Ben's life (I'm hoping her bad attitude and maybe entire personality?)

I'm tired of Vittorio. I wish they would tie his story to Dante or Fed so I could ignore them all at once.
 

Sorry, Sara forgot to thank you. That episode was crazy and your short recap covered everything important AND made me laugh, so it was lightyears ahead of the episode. Gracias!
 

Today's rant...or maybe this hour's rant...man drives down the street, his brakes fail, he nearly runs one person over and hits another. Police and ambulance are called. Man who got hit with car is taken to the hospital, not having regained consciousness. Woman screams repeatedly about this being the fault of the man in the car.

NOBODY questions the man in the car. Nor do they impound the car to do any further investigation. Nooooo...that's left up to the man, who at this point should be considered a suspect for attempted murder, and his staff to investigate.

On what planet?

Obviously, I got on the wrong bus! I was supposed to be going to some kind of magical fairytale land.
 

A police dude did approach Pedro after the ambulance left and he sat, dazed, in the middle of the street, but we didn't get to see/hear the rest of the exchange. But, yeah, why isn't Pedro in custody?

Daisy - Os has been poisoned, but as far as we know it was only by Fabio, who doused Sonia's tea with an abortion pill. Os swiped it, because he's mean, and now apparently he has eternal stomach cramps.

It's that TN Rich thing. If you're TN Rich, you can have someone thrown in jail and assumed guilty because you *think* they tried to kill you...like Julieta and Fi and the eye drops. But if you're TN Rich and driving the car with no brakes, meh, it's all good.
 

Why is Fabio going to a shady random dude for a super-expensive pill that seems like it has some additional side effects? He doesn't have access to a shady doctor?
 

Part 3:

Fidel and Pedro talked in the (home) office about the accident. Fidel then thinks of the eye drops and concludes that both are an inside job of some kind. No suspects mentioned.

Reynaldo visited Benito, bringing a sandwich that he ate himself while helping Benito drink a bottle of cold soda. Rox arrived (This was late at night). She promised something in exchange for his recovery but I didn't catch what it was. My guess is that it's either studying or behaving better toward Gia or maybe everyone else. Fat chance.

Fiorella told Eloisa that Benito will recover at his parents' house; she was OK with that. Aitana walked in with Pedro, announced that they are officially a couple again. She was rubbing it in and Pedro saw that because she was all over him like a cheap suit. Fiorella kept her cool and Eloisa poured salt over the wounds. Fiorella excused herself to help Simona with something.

Gael showed jealousy in front of Gia.

At dinner that night Eloisa issued her decree about what college Sonia's baby will attend. She threw in digs at Sonia's life before Assvaldo. Announced Pedro and Aitana's couplehood. Julieta was pleased with that. Pedro was not and Eloisa told him not to pout. Assvaldo goes on about the joys of parenthood and others implied that Pedro should hurry up and knock up Aitana. Pedro finally got fed up at this intrusion and left the dinner table.

Federica started her campaign to get Fiorella to a shrink, going on about PTSD. Fiorella tried to be polite to her about this.
 

Part 4:

The next day in class Rox daydreams about bringing Benito to formally meet Eloisa et all. Federica is actually dressed well in this B/W daydream. Benito behaves more declasse than Rox ever does. She starts yelling "No, no, no!" which stops the prof's lecture. Prof asks if she's alright or decides she can't study organic chem. Rox apologises and says she's OK.

Sonia pursued Pedro again, reminding him he could be her baby's father. Same conversation, different day, different room of the mansion.

Julieta and Sergio play dominoes in the game room. He refuses to worry about Anibal.

Anibal tried to get his PI to beat up on Sergio. PI told him no dice, closed his briefcase, and left. He said to call him if he wanted surveillance and photos but nothing illegal.

Pedro tried to stop Fiorella on her way to visit Benito. She still refused to believe him about the accident. She demanded the truth about Aitana. Pedro didn't give a complete answer and this all ended with Fiorella crying. Federica probably heard at least the second half of this because she came on again with the idea of a shrink. This time Fiorella fell for the sales pitch.

Gael failed to introduce Gia to the other three guys. He hustled her away too quickly. She was not pleased.

Fidel drove Fiorella to Benito's parents' place. She told him about the accident; he told her Pedro isn't a killer despite his temper and his tendency to be stubborn. We find out he has known Pedro almost all his life.

Rox talks with Aitana about not keeping a promise made to the Virgencita. Aitana told her she once did the same thing: She prayed that her parents wouldn't get a divorce and in exchange promised that she would never travel. However, she took the first chance she got to go to (forgot where). Thought at the time that God would punish her someday for that (Please, wilt Thou?)
 

Sara, cheer up, you are not alone. We all feel your pain. Thanks for the bullet points. Televisa or Univison is doing us all a disservice with their sledge hammer editing . UA thanks for filling in the gaps for us. It makes sense now. Who condenses three episodes in one and then doesn't watch to see if it flows. There is hope yet for this TN. Poor Petro, he can't win. First he looses the love of his life, which in TN terms means the air you breathe, then he almost kills her. Boyfriend must be in torment. What he does not need ,is everyone telling him to do the right thing and let her go. How is he going to breathe. Second he gets a clinging vine for a fiancee. I am sorry but the girl gives me the creeps..Based on the whack editing job, everyone in this TN is brain dead. Is it really necessary for Hell-oisa( love the name) to be so cruel? Asking Fiorella to get flowers for Aitana's mom is the worse. Reminding her of her place at the pre engagement dinner was not enough? Asking her to congratulate the couple,knowing how she felt about Pablo was way over the top. Is Redemption for this woman possible? Gae and Rox are so brain washed by her, they have no identities of their own. Sad group of people, and she is proud of this?
The police know the family so they probably let him go. I am sorry Benito got hurt but he asked for this. I still don't know what his game is? Is he a player or just confused? I have a lot of questions don't I? Forgive me.

Part 5

Fiorella visited Benito. Vittorio showed up wanting to give Adele and Raymundo some dinero to help out. She politely declined because Pedro was paying for everything. Then Vittorio said he didn't like Fiorella coming alone to visit Benito.

Rox tried to tell Eloisa about Benito but didn't get it out.

Vittorio got all Old School as Pedro arrived. Vittorio objected to Pedro's presence. Adele asked if anyone wanted cookies and went to get some.

Assvaldo shows up at Alina's place.

Julieta and Sergio walked down the street. They talked about legal paperwork about the divorce. They got near the car and Sergio got beaten up by six guys who knew his name.

At Adele and Reynaldo's place Vittorio, Pedro, and Benito started arguing about Fiorella who finally got fed up with it. She yelled "Basta!" a few times and got on all their cases about talking about her as though she were not there. She finally told them she doesn't want to be near any of them.
 

I think we all know that pushing Fiorella to a shrink's office has nothing to do with her mental health. So, what is it? Is this to ferret out info or to gaslight her?
 

UA - probably both. I don't know what she hopes to learn from Fiorella and the only thing Fi knows is that she has a thing for with Dante. Who, I gotta say, annoys the crap out of me (although, he someohow still manages to have more honor than Federica). I wonder if Fidel will ever remember how agitated he got when he found out Pedro took the SUV.

Good Lord! Is there NOTHING this witch doesn't manage? Eloisa might have said "everyone loved" Pedro's mom, but after what I've seen, her words just mean that sound was coming out of her mouth. Man! They left all this on the cutting room floor. We know they don't care if we enjoy these stories or not but they don't give a rip if we understand them, either. Again: why show the fricker or put it on in the afternoon.

Just the idea of butchering 3 episodes is nuts. There was far too much missing here.

Our man Fidel will definitely be on the case. He clearly wants all his ducks in a row and will not be satisfied until he finds out what's up. Glad Anibal's PI didn't want to comply with such unreasonable and unlawful demands.

Vittorio needs a hobby or something. His obsession with Fiorella is very sick. We can easily picture him locking her in a tower room and having only the same female servant bring her meals and clean clothes to her.
 

So, who's actually enjoying this show? Because Sara's serious about there being a Thursday opening. Or even, who's not enjoying it but would be happy to recap it and rip it to shreds? If no one steps up, we'll need to reorganize the schedule, and that may mean we don't have an actual recap every day. You can reach me through the email address in my profile.

Thank you Urban for telling us what Univision chopped away. I just would add that after Sonia told Assvaldo to kill Fabio in another scene he responded to her that he thinks that she wants to get rid of the 2 possible daddies of her baby. Fabio dead and he going to jail. And also that she wants to fool his grandma with the tale of the first great grandson of the Angeles dynasty and you know get a good part of money. Sonia says that she only wants to have that baby but agrees that it is not a bad plan what Assvaldo said. Assvaldo ends up threatening her that he must be the father of that baby because oh Lord if he goes to jail it would not be just for killing Fabio but yeah also for killing her.

Ok Urban. I just read that you did include in your information that assvaldo threatened sonia of killing her besides fabio. And yes Assvaldo is always fighting with sonia for the same reasons, he is just like a broken record and a masochistic.
