Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #41 Tue 10/20/15 (Mex 55-56) Let's call the whole thing off?

Post-bad-coital.  Osvaldo pretends to care about how very "wrong" what he and Alina just did was, but really it's more like he gets off on how wrong it was.

Gianna overhears Dante and Fed stupidly arguing in the employees' kitchen about whether or not Fi saw them kissing.  Federica wants Fi GONE…from the house, from her life.  And also Fidel!  He knows about them!

Anibal meets with his henches and postures.  Juli will pay!  Blah, blah, blah.

Eloisa warns Julieta and Sergio that Anibal is dangerous. Apparently because she watched the previous scene.  Julieta begs Fi for help yet again.  That's what happens when ignore your cheating husband instead of gathering evidence to screw him over with at your leisure.

Sonia and Osvaldo have a predictable argument about him being out all night and her being a cheater who doesn't get to ask where he was.

Pedro and Benito argue about Benito and Fi's nonexistent relationship that they're not allowed to indulge in while they're at the ranch.  Because Pedro said so.

Anibal's hired thugs burned down Julieta's Cuernavaca house.  Well, sure, if it's about destruction of property, Fi will help.  How this is different from "money" is beyond me.  Juli and Sergio swear they'll protect her.

Fed and Dante have the same.  Damn.  Argument.  Only this time, it's in the security room.

Vitto wanted to talk to Pedro, as Fi's boss, to talk about her quitting.  Oh, he'll talk to Fi, too, but as a courtesy, he figured he'd go behind her back and arrange for her to quit a week from now.  Pedro, as a courtesy, warns Vitto that Fi is seeing someone behind his back. Oh, not Pedro, but…someone.

While Fed lurks in the hallway, Gi has a very loud argument with Fi in the employees' kitchen about how Fi MUST have seen SOMETHING because FEDERICA wants her GONE.  Is Fi SURE she didn't see ANYTHING that maybe FEDERICA didn't want her to see?  Oh, NO, Fi's sure she didn't see ANYTHING.  Maybe it's because she thought it was FUNNY that Federica would be working at THE CORPORATIVO because she's NEVER worked a DAY in her LIFE.  An oblivious Joaquina interrupts this spying session with the mail, and Fed goes off in search of Fidel, while Fi and Gi giggle and congratulate themselves on their mad acting skillz.  Julieta has a letter from Italy that Joaquina asks Fi to deliver.

Dante goes out to where Fidel is washing the new SUV to fake-confide in him that Federica dumped him.  Fidel has a good time fake-commiserating with Dante and telling the "kid" he's sorry to hear it, with much patting of his cheeks and kissing of his head.

Fi has to explain to Juli that the letter isn't actually "from" Italy--it's a letter Julieta sent that was returned.  Juli is still having problems with her up-close vision.  I guess that also explains the blank stare she started the scene with?  I liked her better when she was irrationally hating on Fi than now when she's suddenly treating Fi like her BFF and bait for Anibal.  Nope, Fi doesn't recognize Santiago's name, but maybe…was his family super rich and owned one of those big castles?  Sergio arrives with Fi's wire.

Awkward lunch with Pedro's future in-laws.  He leaves for the bathroom and [IN-LAWS FROM HELL ALERT!] Papi warns Aitana she's responsible for making sure the marriage actually happens this time.  And they'd better be able to get some benefits from it!  Mami barely bats an eyelash, though she does roll her eyes.  Aitana, rather than being offended by Papi's attitude, tells him not to worry, this marriage will mean goodies for everyone!  As long as she gets to become an Angeles and marry that loser who never even bothered to fight for her, it's all good.  They all smile and toast.  Well, shame on me for thinking Aitana was a spineless, entitled twit letting herself get pushed around by Eloisa.  She just got upgraded to Gold Digger!  That's right…rich girls can play that game, too.

Rox invited Gael for a walk through the land that will one day belong to "them" when Eloisa kicks it.  Or possibly so they could catch Gianna happily welcoming Benito back.  And Rox could stage a kiss to get Benito jealous.  Gianna seems not to care and ushers Benito inside.

Sonia gets stood up for coffee and is horrified to have her mother (looking a little rough), come into the café and greet her.  (La mama de Sonia was last seen as Renato's mom on Sombra.)  Sonia hasn't seen her mom in years.  She doesn't have the waiter throw her out, but asks to be moved to a more out-of-the-way table.  Mama can tell that Sonia is pregnant.

Osvaldo plots with a new doctor to get that DNA test done ASAP.  He assures the doctor that Sonia will sign whatever paperwork he tells her to.

Fi accidentally on purpose runs into Anibal.  He reacts predictably.  She claims to be looking for a new job.  Well, of course, he's offering a part-time, on-call job with full-time pay and benefits. He's happy to restate the terms, but not here.  Unfortunately Vitto comes along and screws up the plan by scaring off Anibal.  Julieta and Sergio show up and explain this was an undercover caper, but Vitto is still furious.  I'm not holding my breath that this leads to a definitive breakup, though.

Annoying Aitana is annoying and whining about wanting to wander around the business before her Pilates class.  Pedro caves.  She greets Fed and Fed sees right through her.  Takes one to know one?

Benito and Gi rant about Rox and Gael.  Seriously, Gianna?  You didn't know Benito was seeing Rox on the side?  Suddenly she's pissed that Benito has been playing all three of them--her, Rox, and Fi.

More explanations, now in Vitto's office.  Just break up already!  Vitto doesn't like her slutty behavior and she's making him look like a fool.  Break.  Up.  Already.  Fi calls off the wedding.

Fi made it all the way back to the ranch, so maybe the breakup will stick!  She and Gi mend some clothes and talk telenovelas.

A be-robed Rox runs into Benito in the hallway.  He shoves her into her room when they hear someone coming.  They argue about her kissing Gael.  And about him kissing Fi.  His arguments of "I asked you first" and "That was different" fall flat.  But, hey, if she's jealous, he can kiss her too.  And he does.

Vittorio sees everything clearly, now…he drove her away with his insecurity…she's just a defenseless child…and of course, she has guys coming on to her all the time, because she's pretty…but she chose to marry him because she loves him…he must go apologize and get Fi back!  And Diana just keeps saying "no, no, no."  I'm very disappointed in Diana.  I thought she'd be doing a better of job of this.  But Vitto's delusions are just too strong.

Sonia took Mama to a hotel where she can have a shower.  This, presumably after a shopping trip and a booze run.  Sonia gives her money, but says she has to get a job.  Aw, come on, Sonia, bring her back to the Rancho!  I bet she'd liven the place up!  Mama can tell something's wrong and convinces Sonia to 'fess up…she doesn't know who the father of her baby is!  And also, her husband knows that and he's pissed.  Mama likes Sonia's plan to pin the baby on Pedro, not that she has any better idea than Sonia about how to convince Pedro the baby is his.  Mama pledges her support, but Sonia doesn't want her around.  The more she insists she never wants to see her again, the more I'm convinced we haven't seen the last of Mama!

Alina finishes up another therapy session with Gael by telling him he needs to throw caution to the wind and enjoy his relationship with Gianna.  Speaking of throwing caution to the wind, once Gael leaves the foyer, Osvaldo attaches himself to her face.  She insists they need to talk, but not here.  She leaves before they make any definitive plans and Os starts shouting for Sonia, "mi amor!"  which…shut up, Os.

In the game room, Pedro sets up a chessboard in the most cranky way possible.  Fiorella picks on him for it, but says they need to stop fighting.  He brings up the "kiss" with Benito and she says he was high on painkillers and it didn't mean anything.  She's as sure of it as she is that his knight is in the wrong place on the board.

Gael, um, telling a chick that your psychologist told you that you treated her badly is…maybe not the best strategy.  Gianna says he's ashamed of her and she doesn't want to be his girlfriend anymore.

Simona and Fiorella hang out in the stables.  Simona has a crush on Vittorio.  Pedro is listening in and Fi offers to feed the horse.  So much for my "Simona's dating one of the guys who works in the stables" theory, if they've got the maids feeding the horses.  Pedro asks if Fi really cancelled the wedding and if he, uh, maybe has a chance with her now? Oh, please, like we don't all know what the answer to that question is.

Regarding editing:
Please be thoughtful about what you choose to share regarding missing scenes and why--did it explain a later scene?  Was it particularly moving?  Why do we need to know?  Just like not everything they leave in is necessarily good or important, neither does a scene become suddenly important just because it was edited.  More is not always better.  Sometimes it's just more.

Thank you for the recap Diva. Another edited episode, oh well. I am glad that Fiorella sent to hell that dirty old man. Agg he was very rude with her today.

Oh I am hating that the writers are ruining gigi and gaels relationship. If gianna doesnt like gaels jealousy why she gives him reasons to feel that way? Why she hugs benito like a chewing gum?

And oh Assvaldo is not an enough word to call Osvaldo. Poor Alina, Assvaldo was trying to make her feel all dirty and guilty for sleeping with a married man, he even was laughing or smiling while humiliating her.

Thanks, Marla. Saying that Gianna is giving Gael a reason to feel guilty is heading down a bad road. It's not about her behavior. It's about his insecurity.

Ok sorry. I was too much rough with Gianna. Surely Gael has several emotional problems. He has a very cold and difficult family and especially has a panic to his brother and grandma. He is afraid that they could harm gianna. And by the way since this was an edited episode there was a flashback that was cutted in which he as a little child saw his dad screaming and hitting her mother. So this kid has suffered so much.

Why am I not surprised? Osvaldo Jr. is living up to his namesake. Or living down to him. Whichever.

Oh yeah Assvaldo Jr. is an exact copy of his dad. Assvaldo Sr. formed his son to his image and likeness and spoiled him.

Thanks Kat. Great recap!

You have to wonder some days what the scissor gang thinks is important and what isn't. We have to sit through how much Freddy/Dante and yet get background scenes cut that give us insight to a character? Okey then.

TO me, having Benito still go macking on Rox better be a signal that he's not for Gianna and we can have faith that those two crazy kids, Gael & Gia, will work things out. And though the Gia/Benito argument started weird, good for her calling him out on how he's stringing along three women. No matter what excuse we make for him, and he's not a kid, he is or was. Just settle for the redeemed to be skank and be doen with Gia.

I'll hug Gael while he's feeling abandoned and screwed up again.

Anyone else want Diana to pick up something solid and smack Vitto up the side of the head? I can't stand to listen to that geezer any more when he starts on Fi.

So not in love with the Mama character. Just gives Sonia more air time and I DON'T CARE!

Daisynjay

Ay, amiga! I didn't watch the episode, but looked forward to the recap and of course you didn't disappoint. The events you describe sound ridiculous and I'm pretty sure the writers just think we're all as mindless as Fi. I'm glad you called them all out on their BS. This recap was awesome. Thank you. I've given up on the show, but the recaps are always a treat.

Thanks Diva. Missed the first few minutes, so even without edited chunks missing, I was bewildered, but enjoyed seeing Fiorella definitely break her engagement. And while it probably won't stick (nothing seems to last for long in this) I realize that the bad things portended never stick either. Dante and Frederika's nefarious plans always come a-cropper immediately, so we don't have the long-term angst of the more somber stories.

I didn't recognize Sonia's mom from Sombra, but I did remember her as the mom of Teresa's nemesis from that telenovela. Sonia is so pretty, I would love to see her play a more likable character in the future.

And please,I'm with you, let's bring in a love interest for the adorable, unflappable Simoneta. I love the song "Mi Gordita Linda" and am hoping a fella with just that outlook will show up for our dear sirvienta.

Thanks as always for turning out an astute, witty, entertaining recap Diva.

Gracias, Kat.

There was a scene where Aitana was sitting in the conference room talking to her father on her cell. She's trying to find out info but the company is too big (Federica really seems to have had her number). Pedro walked in quietly and overheard her using the word "information" but he stupidly didn't eavesdrop long enough to hear anything more incriminating. Instead he audibly closed the door and she turned around. She then pretended to have been reporting a lost credit card and he seemed to fall for it. I think this scene will be a future flashback. This was a couple of scenes after he saw Fed going through the archive files in his office and said nobody was to enter his office without his permission. He locked the file drawer right after she exited.

I agree that we will see more of Sonia's mother. My money says she will eventually get drunk and let it out that Pedro can't be the father of Sonia's baby.

Fiorella cancelling the wedding was great, but I'm sure it won't stick.

Kat, your sassy yet sweet style was on prominent display.

"Post-bad-coital" and "Anibal meets with his henches and postures" were several of my favorites.

"Pedro, as a courtesy, warns Vitto that Fi is seeing someone behind his back. Oh, not Pedro, but…someone". Sigh. I've never seen three grown men act so childish and immature. Benito is fairly young so can be excused, Pedro to a lesser extent. Vitto has no excuse at all. And, here Diana is throwing herself at him yet he continues to want the young, virginal Fiorella. There's no fool like an old fool. If he persists, he will be left without a shred of dignity.

"Mama can tell that Sonia is pregnant". Very perceptive. I agree - we will be seeing more of her I'm sure.

I've not liked Sonia but I felt a tiny bit of pity for her last night. She is in a bad position and married to a monster. That doesn't excuse the cheating, the lying or the conniving but I can't condemn her for them now.

I believe Pedro's childish spats with Fiorella will be the least of his problems. Aitana is shaping up to be a major purveyor of evil.

daisy, I agree. I think Benito likes the idea of Gi and Fi, but will end up with Roxie.

It still bothers me that Roxie is so class conscious and Gael not being able to claim Gi as his novia. I understand Gael has his issues so am willing to give him more time.

Thanks Kat! This was great.

Diana

If Julieta has any brains her property was insured and she should be able to collect. However, she will need a secret bank account.

Anibal (boy, I hate this name) is a monster and deserves a severe Karmageddon. However, considering the tone of this series he will probably get off scott-free.

Vittorio is a sick fool. He refuses to see how unfairly he trapped Fiorella into the promise to marry him and now he's trying to control her. Maybe he and Danny-Boy from YNCELH should both head for Stepford. The idea that he can force Fiorella to marry him is insanely cruel.

Thanks Kat for the reel to reel feel.

"Fed and Dante have the same. Damn. Argument"

"Oh, please, like we don't all know what the answer to that question is"

This show is stupid. Highlight for me was Fidel yanking on Dante's face.

Fio - remember how giddy I was when I learned to use the toaster, well, I'm that happy

Petey - that's not a knight it's a horsey

Fidel - how do you keep your skin so soft and supple?

Alina - no quickie today, it'll take 30 minutes to get these tight pants back on

Gianna - crushing on a friend

Benito - I'm young, single and me

Vitto - young fun, I'll take her dirty dancing

Julieta - call an arson investigator not "Cheaters"

If Fi goes back to Vitto because suddenly, and sickeningly, he apologizes to her, then honestly, she really isn't a very bright heroine. That look on her face made me hope the bells and whistles went off finally that this idiot is a controlling jerk that wants to put Baby in the Corner and be the perfect little princess HE envisions.

So does Anibal actually have a job? Interesting. I didn't catch this part, but that letter is interesting Julietta wrote. Though she hated anything to do with Italy and she's writing a letter there?

I find it sort of satisfying that these two heads of family are going after each other thru this arranged marriage, which it really is, and each thinks the other is going to make them cash in. Eloisa implied she needed the money from Cousin IT's family ( and I know Os went on that trip where the one facility was toast) and they think they are latching on to something to make them rich. My guess is, like Sombra, the ranch is worth a pretty penny and there may be trust funds not associated with the business, but I would love it if the business Organic Ltd. is tanking and IT'S family is actually going broke too. Fun Times!!!

Daisynjay

"Fidel - how do you keep your skin so soft and supple?"

OMG tofie - I think I scared the person walking pass my cube. Pure genius.

Daisynjay

Diva - thank you for the recrap and the snark!

I'm running out the door to work so this will be brief.

Assvaldo doing Alina and then holding Sonia's infidelity over her head just smacks of the stereotypical double-standard. May his male parts shrivel and then fall off.

Vito just creeps me out. The guy is some sort of control freak and I do. not. like. him. First he sends Fi that 30 y/o photo to con her into coming over. Now HE is the one choosing invitations, linens, and discussing Fi's work schedule/working at all? Run Fi, run!!!

The only other telenovela I saw "Sonia" in was Bellas Calamidades. She is a semi-bad/misguided servant in that one who got herself pregnant by I-forget-who. She also wore a dental prosthetic to make her front teeth bigger and the character had the nickname "Bunny teeth." I did not feel sorry for that character and I don't feel sorry for "Sonia." Just more of the same. Every time I see her I think ... "Bunny teeth."

Gracias, Daisynjay! Yes, please, Benito with Rox. Because the more I think about what Rox and Gael's familial relationship is, the more I'm sure they just can't be going in that direction. If we're right and she is Maximo's daughter, that makes her Gael's aunt. Don't go there, show!

Gracias, Sara! I don't know if there's any part of last night's episode I'd recommend watching. No real fun or romance. Fi and Gi's "acting" in the kitchen, maybe.

Gracias, JudyB! I will endeavor to remember that..."This too shall pass," and probably before the episode is over at that!

Gracias, Urban! From your lips, etc. and I don't even think it's an "eventually." Wine at dinner and allll the secrets will come out. Come on, mama!

Gracias, Diana! "I've never seen three grown men act so childish and immature." You said it! I wonder if Fi would have anything to say if she heard about all the little private conferences.

Gracias, tofie! I guess Dante exfoliates? Maybe he's been spending time at the spa when he's supposed to be seeing to "security" around the ranch.

Daisynjay, I had about two seconds of feeling bad for Aitana that both Eloisa and her dad are treating her like a pawn, but then...whaaaaat? She's in on it?! I'm curious what the financial situation is, but I can already tell I'll have to adjust my beanie if they're going broke. That's the kind of thing that should be public knowledge if they're upper-crust enough to rub elbows with The Angeles Family.

LaDiva thank you for a rambunctious recap.
Now about the haired gold digger. Are they
Going broke, cuz daddy seems to be more
Interested in goodys meaning how money she'll Be marrying into than anything else? I never Liked her, she Is comin between my power couple with the help of ol goatette. Also pedy Got nerve gettin jealous of benny & fi. Sayin Can't be together at the ranch cause they're Employees, he's full of it.
"Pedro ask fiorella did she really cancel the
Wedding, and maybe does he have a chance
With her now?" well I think he had a chance with her when he was going to announce to
everybody that they were now a couple but he chickened out. Again. will this time be any different if she is available? No. Cause he's a
FREAKIN CHICKEN!!!!!! Scared of granny.

Yeah, the haired gold digger is after the bank
Account of the looser, encouraged by Papa, and she really doesn't give a flying flip about pedro she just wants to get her hands on his
But, where his wallet is. with benefits.

Thats good grannys not lookin for that shock
Serves her right. She don't think fifi is good enough cuz shes just a maid. I think shes
Richer than aitana.

Thanks, Diva. Sigh. What everybody else said.

I was proud of Fifi for turning down Julieta's selfish and dangerous proposal yesterday but I should have known that wouldn't be the end of it. And now, thanks to Sergio and Julietta's stupidity and egocentricity AND Fifi's what, misplaced, ignorant sense of empathy? she is back in Animal's cross hairs. WHAT ABOUT THE FRICKIN' POLICE, IDIOTS!!! Why didn't Julieta go to her Lawyer and the Police about Anibal burning down her house. What the hell?

Alina is a dead "psychologist" to me. Dead woman, too.

Good for Petey neglecting the office and letting Granny run his life via her cane up his nose he's now got Freddie and hair girl snooping around El Corporativo.

Assvaldo is ass #1 and Bennie is ass #2. I'll wait before assigning Gael a number.

So Sonia's mom will be the Prudencia in this story, hunh?

I'm beginning to like Diana more and more. She needs to tighten up her game and take Vitto off the market: Confess that Beto is yours and get knocked up for cripe's sake, Diana. Vitto likes bambinos.

With what face and out of what mouth is Pedro asking Fiorella for another chance? These two are like a couple of beached carp flopping around in the sand.

Where is fratello David!? WAH!!!!

Lila

Gracias, Nina! I dunno...they could be broke, or they could just be greedy. Or in Aitana's case vengeful. And what a stupid reason "I broke up with him and he didn't chase after me!" I suppose we've heard stupider.

Gracias, Lila! I don't see it, either...just because Juli gets "proof" that Anibal is a horndog doesn't mean he's going to stop destroying as much of her property as he can. He's in "If I can't have it, no one can!" mode.

Kat, I agree with this. I think Aitana's family is just greedy and she is out for revenge because Pedro didn't come chasing after her whenever. I hate women who play games like that and Pedro was smart enough not to fall for it.

However, he's going to be just stupid enough this time to almost fall into the trap.

I also doubt the police would be very helpful regarding the arson. Anibal probably paid them off anyway.

Thanks, Diva, for a great recap of the madness.

Tofie...I want to have lunch with you..or drinks..or lunch with drinks. I can't decide on my favorite...Fi, Bennie, or Vito...maybe Fi is my number one.

Did the writers actually get paid for this stuff , or did unpaid interns churn this out ?

Diva,
I totally agree with you on your comment about Aitana. I honestly think that she isn't necessarily poor just either vengeful or greedy. Maybe she's trying to scam them out of their money. Maybe her family is just evil. Honestly i really hope that's the case and they don't make her to a pathetic gold digger. Also i don't think shes ugly like others are exclaiming. The actress who plays her and Sonia are quite beautiful. Sure their characters might not be likable but that does not make them ugly. Sucks for Gianna and Gael but we know they will end up together. Benito is annoying but is the only one to keep Roxy in her place.

I got to watch my recording during lunch.

Federica had on a normal outfit!!! And no hat!!! This must be her camouflage; masquerading as a sane person.

Usually in Telenovelaland, people like Aitana have family that have hit hard time$ and just need more money to keep up their lifestyle or to inject as capital in the family business. Heaven forbid(!) Mom and daughter get paying jobs! Que horror! Gah.

Vito creeps me out. Appearances aside, he is choosing the linens, invitations, and trying to make decisions about Fi working? This just sends up big red flags all over the place. What else about her life would he try to control if they marry? Run Fiorella, run!!!

I don't think the actresses that plays aitana and sonya are ugly. I think they're good In the looks department. But the characters that they play are very very ugly, and these ladies play their part very very well.

Urban, it was almost comical the way she described it. Like she broke up with him for no real reason and was then shocked...just shocked!...that he didn't come running after her. She won't be trying that little trick again anytime soon.

Gracias, Susanlynn! I think they probably get paid and then spend it all on booze to drown their sorrows.

Ana, when you said "keep Roxy in her place" I started to wonder if Benito actually likes her or is just trying to keep her occupied so she doesn't cause so much trouble for Fi and Gi. I don't know which I'd rather.

doris, no kidding! Vito wants to control eeeeeverything. Not cool.

Nina, I hear that. The most handsome galan ends up looking like a troll the worse he behaves.

" I started to wonder if Benito actually likes her or is just trying to keep her occupied so she doesn't cause so much trouble for Fi and Gi."

C. Both of the above. ;-)

Yeah, that Benito. He's all...heart....
