New Telenovela: Pasion y Poder Synopsis & Character Descriptions: Starts November 3rd 2015 at 9pm.

Synopsis

The story of "Pasion y Poder" is about two successful businessmen, Eladio Gómez Luna (Fernando Colunga) and Arturo Montenegro (Jorge Salinas), who have been facing off for many years because of business and for the love of Julia (Susana Gonzalez).

Eladio appears to have it all - success, money, and power. However, he does not have the love of Julia, his wife, who he has always loved. Julia married Eladio a short time after finding out that his fiancé, Arturo Montenegro, had gotten another woman pregnant. Julia believed that she would fall in love with Eladio but he has never known how to win her affection and loves her in a sick manner. A short time later, David (Jose Pablo Minor) was born. Eladio has never gotten along with his son and instead has given his godson Franco (Danilo Carrera) all of his trust and has made him a faithful copy of his hate, ambition, and despotism.

Arturo is the heir of Grupo Montenegro and consolidates himself as a successful businessman. He is married to Nina (Marlene Favela) a woman who dazzles with her beauty and sensuality and who is also ambitious, manipulative, and frivolous. He is the father of four children: Miguel (James Mateu). Erick (Alejandro Nones), Regina (Michelle Renaud), and Daniela (Irina Baeva). He is still tormented by the mistake he made twenty five years ago and has secretly not recovered from losing Julia, the love of his life, because of his infidelity.

One day, Arturo and Julia meet again, and Arturo understands that he has not stopped loving her despite the pass of time. It is then that Arturo begins to reflect on what his marriage to Nina has been and he will try to redeem himself as a father to his children.

When Eladio realizes that Arturo and Julia have met again, his sick jealously grows, and it is from that moment on that he becomes more cruel and ruthless against Arturo and his entire family.

Characters

Julia Vallado de Gómez Luna (Susana Gonzalez): A beautiful woman who lost her mother very young and grew up with a father who was very authoritarian, conservative, controlling, and who never valued her. She then married Eladio who she puts up with because she is scared and insecure. She is a loving mother to her son David and she would do anything to defend her son. Despite being pretty and having had a prominent modeling career, she is insecure with low self esteem.

Franco Herrera (Danilo Carrera): Eladio's godson and his right hand man.

Guau! Gracias, Mauricio!

If you're interested in recapping this one, see the call for recappers and email me.

Thank you Mauricio for this page, synopsis and list of characters & actors! Looks like there are lots of hawt-looking guys in it, too. (eye candy)

I will definitely try this one, due to the cast alone. I hope I can make the leap from Colunga the good guy to Colunga the baddie.

What a fabulous intro, Mauricio! Thanks so much!

I'd like to stay on for this one, if I may.

I just posted under Sara's post seeking recappers that I really didn't care what the synopsis is as I would watch anything Susana Gonzales is in (not in those words, but you get the gist).

And then I just read your summary.

This looks great...

Mauricio, you did an excellent job with the introduction. I feel as though I have a good insight into the characters. I cannot tell you how important that is for me as my Spanish comprehension skills are very weak.

The pictures were marvelous and am looking forward to seeing some of my favorites including Altair and Michelle among many others.

Although the time slot is an issue for me, I am going to try and watch as much as I can. I am so looking forward to your, AuntyAnn and Novela Maven's recaps.

Thank you for this informative and fun summary.

Diana

Thanks, Mauricio.

Squeeee...TBLMOE returns !!!!! I hope that my heart does not break watching him turn to the dark side. He plays the galan so convincingly. Well, Outlander returns in the spring, and Jamie is the ultimate hero, so I won't be heroless for long.

And...the volume of eye candy in this novella is astounding. They rounded up all the lookers in telenovela land . I am looking forward to seeing some of my old favs! I am verra excited about this show .

This is a very interesting and intriguing informative summary. Im going to have get used to seeing Jorge Salinas being the bad guy. I like his work, I've seen him being a good guy and that other guy too. (Fernando Colunga). This looks like it's going to be a pretty interesting TN.
Mauricio you didn't remarkable job with these versatile character descriptions, now I've got something to look forward to next month.

Thank you everyone. I'm so excited about this one. It looks like it'll be a good one.

I'm interested to see Victoria Camacho in this. I didn't know until later that she had a small role in QTPD. I'm mostly curious because in real life she's dating Osvaldo De León aka Dr. Daniel/Germán Palacios. LOL

Mauricio--Have missed you since Reina. Thanks for the summary and character sketches for P&P.

Susanlyn--I know how you feel about a heart-throb turning to the dark side. We had the rare opportunity to watch Juan Soler not just turn to the dark side, but embrace it in Reina de Corazones (Telemundo). He was fabulous, debonair, suave, and oh so evil. The body count kept building, but The Dragon prevailed in the end. The whole production was a lark, a tongue in cheek send up of all bad-fellas films. Wish I could have the whole run on a DVD.

I fear this novela is going to be more formulaic, but I'm willing to sit and watch two of my fave men go at each other. (Nina--I don't think Salinas is going to be one of the antagonists in this.)

Gracias, Mauricio; good job.

I've put in for this; I've been waiting with baited breath for this one. The title and setting of this is very inspirational for me with my penchant for "ghost-writing."

FINALLY!!
