In general blog news...

In the words of many a recap: "Plagiarism.  Still.  FF>>"  But, no, wait, don't FF>> read about it here and email me if you can help do some web searches to match up the copy with the original.  It's easy, it can be interesting, and many hands make for light work.

All the same, Project Gimme Back My Feeds needs to make a return this weekend.  While I'm still committed to working through the list of previous shows in reverse chronological order, are there some older shows that still don't have the new feed that you would particularly like to see updated sooner?

Contact me if you have any technical issues with the blog...broken links, something on the sidebar not working, etc.

UPDATE: I need a huge favor from everyone who has ever said "I can't find anything on Caray!"  Are you doing your browsing on a cell phone?  Can everyone who is browsing on a cell phone take a look at the mobile site for me and tell me if what I just did made any difference?  (You're looking for a change in the menu--right under the header.)

What's going on in the Caray, Caray! community?

Congratulations to recapper Adriana, on the birth of her daughter Clara!

Reader Paz is hosting a re-watch of Corazón Salvaje (1993) on her blog Joy of Classic Novelas starting October 5 ***THAT'S TODAY!***.  Check out Paz's blog for more details.

Your turn!  What are your thoughts on proximas?  Got any community news?  Recommendations for shows, movies, music, or books that may appeal to your fellow telenovela fans?  Let's hear it!  (Remember to keep it spoiler-free and gossip-free.)

Thanks for the shout-out, Latina!
I'm kind of looking forward to Pasion y Poder. I read a synopsis of the story on another blog and it sounds like a nice messy story, with a lot of family dysfunction going around ... And the cast is pretty solid, too (Duh!)

Thank you, Diva! Congratulations, Adriana!

Gracias, Kat.

Pasion y Poder starts today in Mexico. Can't wait to see it.

It is still blowing my mind that Telemundo is remaking Dona Barbara only 7 years later. They can't improve on Edith Gonzales so I don't know who was asleep at the switch.

Thank you Diva!

Adriana - Congratulations on the new baby!

Urban - ITA.... 7years and they're doing a DB remake? Oh well, at least it's not a narcovela . . .

Gracias, Adriana, Lila, Urban, and doris :D

I definitely had the "Didn't we just do this?" thought with DB.

Adriana, "nice messy story" and "family dysfunction" sure sounds like a winner :p

Diva, I'm loving the new look and format, simply awesome and delightful. It is really a great edit and information update to "Caray". Great work and talent.

Ariana, Congratulations on your baby daughter, I love the name Clara. Two females in my family have the name.

I want to give kudos to my Latino husband who finally watched his first novela, "La Reina del Sur", and now has a huge crush on KdC.

The trick was getting him a tablet, and after getting sick of rewatching movies, watching kickboxing for the first time, he switched to "El Cartel" (not a real novela). Then I suggested LRDS another semi-Marco but a start for novela watching.

Do you guys think I can get him to watch Amor Real with its backdrop of the Mexican Revolution? He loves military stuff. Or should I try get him to watch Zorro, la espalda y la rosa, with its Amazon women. He likes all things female as well, especially if scantily dressed.

Urban
We just got AT&T Uverse (fantastic) two days ago and the representative said there were many western US Spanish channels.
Do you know perhaps the call letters of the Mexican station for P&P.
I promise I won't write any spoilers.

No, I don't. Televisa's websie would have that info if you can get to it.

Urban
Thanks for always trying to help . You are so nice to answer my questions. Bye the way, in memory of Fanny, OT, the Rose Wholesale costume jewelry is cheap and great looking for the right pieces.
THANKS AGAIN

Chiming in that I can't imagine anyone but Edith as Doña Bárbara. And Christian Meier was very sexy in that one. The whole cast was amazing.

Was it ukky because of the crossover love affair between CM,EG, and her daughter.???? I don't like incest or anything insinuating it.

Victoria: Amor Real was set on the War of Reform. It's a war that happened after the 1857 constitution which set the laws of separation from Church and State in Mexico. This is when Mexico's civil registry was created, taking it away from the Catholic Church, it made religious weddings invalid to the law, making the civil marriage necessary for its recognition, introduced religious freedom (when before only Catholicism was allowed), etc.

It also included more extreme measures like taking away all goods and properties from the Church, declaring Churches to be forbidden of owning any property anymore. The law declared the nationalization of those goods and properties and ordered the secularizarion of Catholic hospitals and shelters. Another measure was the dissolution of cloisters and monasteries and the expulsion of the major Catholic officials from the country.

Amor Real doesn't really touch upon all this, it just mentions that the heroes are on the side of Juárez (the reformist side) and shows some battle scenarios and its consequences.

As always, thanks for the extensive explanation you gave of my mistake in calling it the Mexican Revolution.

I was just trying to think of some non-mushy novelas Roberto might start with and thought of the backdrop of societal changes in México and the novela's intrigue between the antagonists and protagonists. Thus, I thought AR may be a good choice before he watches his sweetheart, KdC, possibly in "La Mentira" which I loved.

Suggestions for guy novelas would be appreciated.

Gracias, Victoria! Congratulations on creating another TN addict...uh, I mean "fan." I've got no suggestions for you...Mr. 5ft loved LRDS because he had read the English translation of the novel. Or maybe it was for Kate del Castillo, I dunno--though I think his absolute favorite character was Pote.

novelera, I did not see the first incarnation of Doña B so I will have to take your word for it! I was so influenced by my dislike of Meier's character in La Malquerida, I have a difficult time thinking of him as attractive. DB is another one based on a novel, but it's one I can't get through...and it's not a very long one, either, it just seems to have so many long descriptions of the llano that by the time some kind of action starts taking place again I feel like I've forgotten what happened before.

Thank you La Diva. As for Que Miente Pablo Lyle and Thelma are confirmed to star. Other stars include Helena Rojo and Alexis Ayala.

For Gran Hotel Dominika Paleta has been rumoured to star as the female protangoist, I am in awe because I just adore that gal!!

Lol! I don't know if there is a difference because I've never even noticed the option! I just went and touched "Home" and got a pop up with radio buttons "Current shows" "past shows A-D" etc.
