Caray, Caray!

Your recap blew me away Cynderlla. It's almost impossible to be enthusiastic about what actually transpired last night because I keep rereading what you wrote in admiration and appreciation.

One minute in, I was laughing out loud at “Eladio finishing slobbering over Julia and goes over to Arturo pee on Arturo’s leg and shakes his hand.” Other fantastic lines were "WTF Family" (ITA) and "No thing without a ring, no nookie without a cookie, no more kisses without the Mrs" - my hands down favorite.

"Connie comes over and Arturo compliments her ability to look pretty and walk in a straight line in heals". After his success in devastating Connie with his cruel remarks the morning after, I deem him irredeemable. He ranks low on the scale with the despicable Eladio and Franco.

And, maybe it's just me but I don't think Monse is all that. But then again, look at who she attracts. 'nuff said.

Are we really supposed to be rooting for Arturo? He's allowed Dani to be spoiled to excess, let Nina be outright hostile to his son, and doesn't appear to be aware of Erick's true character. I'm not seeing anything so far that would make Julia want him other than remembrances of back in the day.

Nina, who is fairly shrewd, doesn't appear to be receiving the signals to back off. It's evident her constant touching and trying to kiss Arturo is being met with disinterest. However, now that Julia is on her radar, I think she will do anything to keep what is hers. She will be a fierce force to be reckoned with.

Great job, Cyn! Lots of drama at the fashion show, but luckily no one was slapped or got punched. Looks like Montse has gotten herself in trouble with Eladio, Erick, and Connie.

Glad Gina decided to put aside the Dani boinking David thing. She realizes her sister would boink any man over 16, and we was honest with her, as he pointed out.

Can't believe you didn't mention Art yelling at Dani at the breakfast table to stop walking around the house and grounds in her tiny pjs/undies, where the guards, chauffeur, gardner (and her horny brother Erick) can see. Loved him limiting the credit cards on Erick (who has a damn job) and Dani, until she actually goes back to university.

Susanlynn, I suspect I am one of the few (or perhaps the only) who really likes Augie's hair.

It's kind of a 70's throwback but however he wears his hair, the man is totally hot.

Add those mesmerizing blue eyes and that's it for me.

A typical Cynderella take-no-prisoners rant about the sexual shenanigans of these characters. Evidently we're going to have several criterion behavior sequences in every episode. That used to be called porn, didn't it?

Now how are you and Susanlynn doing on the prepositions? Last night we got IN the closet, ON the desk and IN the marital bed, and I'm sure a lot more from previous episodes which I didn't see.

And yes, where is our bona fide galan? Certainly not Arturo nor Eladio. David and Miguel are sweet, but they're second tier players. I rather like Arturo's silver-haired confidante but he's a bit patronizing with his relational advice? If he's so swift, where's HIS partner?

I do like the way S.G. is playing Julia. Tremulous and skittish still. Not able to believe that Eladio isn't going to explode at any minute. Perfect portrayal of a long-abused woman. And the voluptuous Nina...my my...is she expecting hot sheets every night after some 25 years of marriage? My congrats to Arturo if his marital performance has led to those kind of expectations.

Cynderella, your style is a treat. Funny, irreverant and verrrry down to earth. Now if only we could work "carrying his milk" in some way. I still treasure that line.

Yay, Consuelo got on the catwalk again and her hubby got riled up. Yay, Regina is giving David a chance.

The morning after when Erick told his wife he rocked her world just to show who’s boss, I thought Consuelo might get a clue that this husband ain’t worth hanging onto. But, nope.

Susanlynn and Diana - If/when Augie gets with Gabriela, maybe she'll help him update his hair. Anyway that's what I'm hoping.
 

Consuelo needs to get a good modeling gig and then jump ship. She needs to realize that having no family is better than being in a sick one.

Daniela probably only has people she parties with. No real friends. Something else to explain in a future recap.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Erick and Franco had been switched at birth?
 

Franco isn't any better than Erick, so that would be an even trade. Well, at least Franco seems to work hard (to kiss butt) for his evil "godfather." Erick seems pretty useless.

I was blown away and impressed by Dani's chutzpah in thinking a guy she had blown off, told to his face she was just using him, called him a chump, and that he was only worthy as her servant, would jump the minute she said she wanted him back in her bed. I guess it's been working for her up until now. Johnny the lap dog seemed more than willing to do whatever she commanded at the snap of her fingers. "Go home! Good boy!"
 

Hi, Judyb. It seems as though telenovelas have changed , and we no longer get true galans, heroes who are not only handsome and strong, but also kind, intelligent, and caring. The writers today seem to prefer antiheroes. Que lastima.

As for the prepositions, they have been disappointing after watching the steamy prepositional phrases in Outlander....in the castke, in the inn, in the bed, on the floor ,in the heather,in the straw, under the coverlet. Verra good prepositions. I am spoiled forever. #fifty shades of plaid

tofie: I think that is exactly what Nina is "low class poser" which is why she has brought up a house full of them. I guess Arturo should take some blame too, for not being a presence in the home and allowing this to happen. Him calling out Nina 25 years later is stupid when he is as just as much to blame for his children's behaviour.

Cynderella-- you are a lifesaver! I tried to watch last night but so many interruptions and only saw a few snippets. This recap was awesome and I could just see events unfold.

Unfortunately the one time I can watch and I get Rrick making on the mannequin. Good lord, does that woman ever stop. And really, don't know about you all, but I could do without the closeups with those two.

Still irks me he is such a controlling freak with his wife though. WISH I could have seen Arturo letting loose on the kiddies. I may have to go online just for that.

We always laugh about the crappy, clingy anti-heroine females that are always hanging on the galans to make people think they own the guy. Well, let me tell you, Eladio was doing a pretty good imitation last night of the couple quick scenes I saw at the whatever that show was. Poor Julia, so starved for affection, she took it in, but after awhile I think she was getting a little like "ok, we don't need to be the side show".

Well, well, it seems the times they are a changing,' but not Cynderella's style. What a romp through the slime. It's such slimy fun. Cyn, you never disappoint. And have I told you how much I love your strikethroughs?

NO, THESE TWO MEN are not galan-worthy status in the traditional sense, nor most of their hangers-on. Is this a different era for telenovelas, folks? Have the writers recognized viewers, including Mexicans, have grown quite sophisticated and don't need El Principe Azul to keep them glued to their seats? At least the Patio knows and we hold nothing back. Is there a table for Clara yet? Right now to me, she is the sweetest link between los pobres y los poderosos, but she and Francisco haven't been given a chance to develop a story.

I think Regina is too normal and nice for her 20-year+ exposure to this poderosa WTF Family. In her defense, though, despite her short fuse, she doesn't stay mad at anyone very long. But somewhere, simmering just below the surface is her envy, jealousy, resentment and, could we say hate, of her sister Dani. If she's so normal, she wouldn't need David's validation that she is a young woman of worth.

Mauricio--I didn't get to thank you for The Weekender marathon. I do appreciate your viewpoint on the action. I savored every word of your recap.
 

Nina is definitely a low-class poser. She doesn't know she's barely afloat in those waters.

David was probably better than Johnny in bed, which is why Daniela is calling again.

Montserrat is psycho. I don't think she will make it out of this novela alive or free. Manicomio time.

Poor Miguel, he's the only Montenegro child not pictured in the credits.

I liked how Montserrat tried to buck up on Gaby and Gaby basically told her to pump her brakes because she wasn't in charge, GABY was.

Arturo has been turning down Nina's advances pretty much the entire show so she is grabby & touchy to reclaim what she is losing.

I actually wish the story had been that Eladio had made Julia fall in love with him from the beginning and they were a happy, loving couple but the reappearance of Arturo in Julia's life was making Eladio insecure and Julia falls out of love with him as she discovers more and more of his crimes & deceptions.

Erick is useless. Connie can do a whole lot better. Same for Gabriela.

Still don't understand the purpose of the WTF Family. Clara works for Eladio's company (I think) and is friends with Connie and Gisela is Franco's grandmother. So Clara & Gisela have ties to the rest of the characters. The dude, his sick wife & their kid don't and are useless characters at this point.

The Ricky and Montseratt show. I love that they got locked in, but wished we hadn't got the busy-busy part. We get that. They were trying to open the door with a fork? Haha. Rick called Dani on his cell phone, that's how come she found him. After getting trashed by Eladio, will Monty see take Ricky back for a bunch of flowers?

Diana--For me it's his lips, the most singularly, perfectly formed pair of lips, not too thick, not too thin. Every time Rogelio got mouth-shut close-ups in LQNPA I just fixated on his lips.

I don't like Arturo. He's gonna have to do a lot more to make me like him besides staring at Julia. So far his wife is shallow, but he knew that when he married her. She really hasn't done anything to merit his rejection at this point. She is very attracted to him and he, in my opinion is being mean to her.
 

Yep. Arturo is just as much to blame for the way 1/2 of his four kids turned out, for being so absent. And the other two, although good/decent, hardworking people, took major hits to their self esteem by growing up under Nina's thumb and his unwatchful eye. It's like he just woke up after a 25 year slumber and realized that he doesn't like his kids or love his wife.
 

Diana: thanks, you are being very kind. I googled that Augustin actor. He is so hot! Towel Watch (heres hoping that he takes a gratuitous shower for no reason during the TN) 2015. I can't believe that people notice his hair.

Vivi: Connie is desperate. It's obvious that Erick and the Ratt where together, yet she runs home and sleeps with him. Whatever!

Urban, I think Montse is wearing a weave or something. She has a layer on the back of her head. Who would put a layer on such a short hairstyle?

Susanlynn: Ynez would have put Montse on every surface of that storage room. AND, although, I am not a fan of PDA, I think you should be able to grab your husband in public every once in a while if that's your thing. I don't think Nina is out of line by marking her territory. He is rich and he's not bad looking. I think he's being a jerk to her so far.

I would disagree about Nina not doing anything to merit his rejection. Arturo has repeatedly told her since the show started that he is working and she's tried to get him to stop working to focus on her. Well lady, the reason why Arturo is working so hard is to make money to pay for all of your frivolous wants! Nina doesn't want to have sex with Arturo because she enjoys his company; she wants to have sex with him to manipulate him into doing what she wants (new car, new dress, forcing Regina to marry, etc) or to reclaim her territory (work, now Julia).

Not to mention Nina dismissing what Daniela did to Regina and Nina's nasty treatment of Miguel & Consuelo.

It's not 100% Nina's fault; Arturo allowed her to act this way for 25 years. I do agree with Augustin that Arturo shut down the credit card/Tmobile limits as a reaction; I don't agree about the motive. I think Arturo was punishing Nina through the children; I don't think Arturo shut down Nina's limits, only Daniela & Erick's.
 

Cynderella..Is Nini so attracted to Rip Van Artie or to his $$$$ ?

Art has had one expression so far, and it makes him look as if he is sleepy, bored, or in a trance. Staring at Julia in front of his wife, her cracra hubby, and the other family members is not such a good idea.

It was from an Abismo recap, Susanlynn. And I can't do it justice. If Cynderella can go back and find the passage, you need the whole paragraph and back story. Let's just say it was outrageously funny. Not as naughty as her "treasure trail" comments, but just outrageously funny.

Arturo fits a classic (and I hope outdated) example of the hardworking man who doesn't see most of what goes on in his own house. I'm sure that Nina was careful for a long time that he not see her worst behavior regarding the children and now she is slipping.

She loves his wallet more than his manly parts, although I have yet to see a novela in which this actor's character doesn't know how to use those. And I love his decisive look.

The actress playing Monserrat is wearing a wig. It doesn't move like natural hair. This is a popular wig style for hookers and female impersonators because it's cheap to make (because it doesn't show a hairline) and easy to put on because it covers everything and you don't even need a mirror to judge if it's in place.
 

Cynderella---Your no holds barred recap blew me out of the water. You're awesome, unlike Erick who definitely isn't. What a bastard that guy. I would like to see Consuelo serve him with divorce papers at the family breakfast table. It would be a perfect way to start off that jerks morning.

Erik tells her that he only had sex with her to prove that he can have her anytime and anywhere. What??? Yep, divorce papers during coffee and pan dulce would be just the thing for this guy.

The Ratt
tells Connie that her boyfriend locked her in the dressing room.---Who? What boyfriend?

And speaking of the Ratt---Diana likes Augie's hair. Well I like Montse's hair, wig
or whatever it is---sorry Urban. High cheekbones, low cheekbones I don't care. I have always liked that hair style and I think that the Ratt looks good in it.

Oh! and back to yesterdays comments about Nina's attire. I still am not crazy over either the color or pattern of Nina's dress although I did like it just a LITTLE better last night than I did the night before. I will disagree with most everyone though who didn't like her necklace or thought that it was overkill. sure didn't think that. I paid special attention to the necklace last night and thought that it was a beautiful match for the dress. Overkill? No, not at all.

I mean that her cheekbones protrude too far out of her face, like Julieta's in MIVAC. At least her chin is less pointy than Julieta's so it balances it out a bit better. However, I have never liked bangs once my mother's trashy friend cut my hair like this.

This TN is typical novela fare, meh. I'll hang in as long as I can for FC.
nothing makes any sense, people do not behave that way, good, bad or whatever. The galans are both assholes in spite of being guapo. The side stores, as usual are not interesting. There is not much suspense, we pretty much know what will happen.
The director/producer/writer should watch Bajo el mismo cielo, all the side stories keep your interest.

I saw Nina checking out Eladio, hmmm. A wife swap would be in store here.
 

Wow, Cynderella! This was fantastic. Thank you so much for such an entertaining recap. I loved the title and it fit the episode so well.

It cracked me up when Erick and The Ratt found themselves locked inside the room and when they attempted to open the door with a fork. Too bad Daniela rescued them.

The auction with Eladio and Arturo going back and forth trying to outbid the other made me laugh as well. Oh Arturo. He fell into Eladio's game and ended paying a fortune for a dress that wasn't worth that much money.

Glad that Arturo told the two brats, Erick and Daniela, off and limited their credit cards and cellphone data. Also, loved it when Arturo called Daniela out on how she dresses.
 

Mauricio, I also loved that moment. I wonder if over the years the producers ever heard from viewers who complained that the toxic and controlling parents -- like Gabriela in FELS -- weren't calling out their daughters on their ramerawear because it was out of character for them to fail to.

I was happy to see Connie on that catwalk, but I hated the fact that she was looking for Erick to get his permission to do it. WTH? Anyway, I think she needs to move on from Erick. She can have a better life without him. I was also glad to see that she put 2 and 2 together and is realizing that Erick and Montse could be lovers. At least she is seeing it as a possibility.

I am kind of confused about Arturo's attitude. He is an idiot for putting an abrupt stop to the love making with his wife. He is going to give himself away and nothing has even happened between him and Julia. Nina is going to wonder why after 20+ years her husband has such a dry spell. Arturo needs to settle down.

I could not believe that Erick's credit cards were still being paid by daddy. Seriously? What does he do with his money? I would assume he has a good salary. He lives at home too, so where is all the money going? I don't like Erick. He is just so annoying. Maybe he can leave with Montse to Europe. I hope he gets caught in the hallway by Eladio tonight.

Good thing that Regina decided to give David a second chance. But with that phone call from Dani last night I fear that Dani wants him back and will do whatever it takes to do that. Even if it means hurting her sister.

I don't always agree with you but I certainly share your assessment of Arturo. He may be the supposed good guy in this but the way he is treating his wife is shameful. She may not be the nicest of ladies or the best of mothers but she is quite beautiful, extremely affectionate, and by all appearances a faithful devoted spouse.

After reflection and a second look, I'm inclined to agree with gringo about the necklace Julia wore with that outfit. I think that it complements the dress quite well though perhaps a choker might have been an even better choice. An unadorned neck would have looked incomplete. She had an exotic, elegant, regal look, somewhat like I imagine Cleopatra might have looked.

While that expensive auctioned dress was over all quite beautiful, I thought that silver harness holding it up looked tacked-on and was very distracting.

Urban- This is the first time that I have ever seen someone being called out for their way of dressing. I was so glad Arturo did this. I doubt Daniela will listen though.
