Caray, Caray!

Gumbo in his wheelchair comes to tell Lichita how much Beto loves her. He wants to stop her and Beto from making a huge mistake that will mess with everyone's live. His pretend disability is hilarious.  Lichita notices "ah, your motor skills have improved since last time I saw you," reminding him to act more disabled, going into pretend convulsions and slapping himself. Alicia insists on accompanying back to home. She pushes his wheelchair to the disabled taxi. He gives her some last advice from his wheelchair - this marriage would be mass suicide, and it would suck for everyone!



Luci prances around in her wedding dress. Haha, Beatriz picked out some dresses for her, muttering about how rare it is for brides to not obsess over gowns. Alicia instantly picks one out and Luciana gets pissed that no one showed her that particular one. She grabs it, they have a tug-of-war, and it rips in half!

Alicia, at the table with her family, is acting like she's about to be executed. She reveals she's opened a bank account with savings for Ximena. Magos tries to get her paws on the documents, but Ximena wisely keeps them away from her.

Alicia faces a remarkably insulting reporter with insistent claims that the marriage is a sham to get her into the upper ranks of Iconika. In a vision moment, the reporter's face turns into Alicia's face, asking herself the same nasty questions.

The evil reporter takes on Alicia's own face, like the vision of Darth Vader becoming Luke in the cave on Dagobah

At court, Marta's lawyer makes the point that Mateo needs a maternal figure in his life. Beto's lawyer points out he's getting married tomorrow, but that's not such a strong argument (Mateo hasn't even met Luci). Anyway, the judge is sick of the bickering and decides no one gets Mateo and he'll need to stay in the orphanage at least 2 more months during the continued deliberations.

Ugh, Luci has another plot to embarrass Alicia.

Alicia tries to back out of the wedding but Alex tries to talk her out of it. His argument is that she already got the promotion, it wouldn't be fair to back out now! Surprisingly, she changes her mind and decides (at least temporarily) too go forward with it.

A dejected Beto sits on the steps with his son. He asks who gave him that toy, and finds out that Alicia has been his secret friend for a long time! Mateo wishes Beto didn't have a girlfriend so he could marry Alicia. But, twisting the knife, the kid says "if you're marrying this Luciana, she must be as nice as Alicia!" Hah!

Beto calls Alicia who's just gotten a stern reminder from Augusto about the deal they had. She won't talk to Beto. Gumaro says he needs to try to talk to her at the bachelor party!

Nacho and Elsa are locking up the cafe, and they tell Alicia they think the coffee machine's broken. They can't read the English on it, so she needs to go in and check on it. They'll wait for her outside. But surprise! They lock her in with Beto! He still loves her and no matter what happens he won't marry Luci, but he wants to know if she loves him too! What a romantic ambush!

The argument goes on for a while, and then there's a lull. Her parents are listening in at the door. Elsa can't tell if they stopped talking because they're kissing or furious at each other. They get tired of waiting, and anyway, Beto has the key. What's the worst that could happen? They go home.

They make up a bit and Alicia seems to still care for him. He says he's ready to reveal his secrets, but he needs to know that she'll do anything for him. Weird. Anyway, she says the most important thing is her career and she can't ditch the wedding. The scene drags on forever and eventually they kiss.

Meanwhile the bachelor/bachelorette party is far more entertaining:

The bride-to-be done up in TP. Is this just a Mexican thing? At first, she likes it.

Things go South rather quickly.

The stripper is Nestor's wife. This is a fantastic tableau.
