Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #82 Friday 12-18-15 (Mex 114) I Love You and I Want to Shout it to the Four. . . . walls. . .

Aitana and Assvaldo continue their illicit face-sucking in the study as Pedro heads toward them when he is stopped by Sergio who grabs him up in a bear hug and tells him how glad he is he has returned.  Sergio tells him he must see his Abuela.  Pedro agrees and is headed to the door once again.  Aitana tears Assvaldo's lips from her own, whispering loudly that Pedro is there.  Assvaldo doesn't seem to care.  Sergio now wants to know what happened. . .is Pedro starting to have panic attacks as well?  Pedro finally pulls away and is about to enter the study when Aitana steps out of the study and confronts him while Assvaldo stands just behind the study door.  Of course she wants to know why he humiliated her by leaving her at the altar.  Pedro's gaze is cold and piercing as he listens to her repeat the question five different ways.  Sergio comes behind Pedro's shoulder and quietly tries to suggest that Pedro ask to be pardoned.  Pedro is silent but his glare full of contempt and I can almost hear him calling her a lying, cynical, thieving, %^&*(!  "Oh, you're not going to say anything?  Well, you and I are going to have a serious talk, right now!" and she grabs Pedro's arm and he wrenches it away forcefully and vehemently:  "Don't touch me!  I'm going to talk to my Abuela."  He looks around the corner, but not fully and so misses the ass behind the door.  Pedro turns on his heels and heads hurriedly toward the stairs with Sergio right behind him.  Aitana stares after them with a look of surprise and recognition that Pedro has changed.  Assvaldo steps out and gloats that she saved them.  Aitana declares that Pedro, however, will NOT be saved!

Upstairs Eloisa is in bed.  Dante and Freddie stand over her talking about taking advantage of Eloisa's state to alter the will.  Dante thinks Eloisa could be faking and from her demeanor she certainly is listening whether she's comprehending it all or not.  Pedro's entry interrupts their plotting.  Freddie greets Pedro in her usual nasty and intrusive way asking if he's already gotten bored with the life of a runaway groom.  Pedro unsmilingly tells her he's NOT putting up with any crap from her about the wedding and to leave him alone with his Abuela.  Dante and Freddie leave.  Sergio and Pedro approach the bed.    Sergio gently calls, "Mama."  Eloisa turns over and calls Pedro's name.  Sergio is surprised she recognizes him.  "How am I not going to recognize him, you think I'm crazy, senile, or what?  How dare you leave Aitana at the altar?"

Downstairs in the living room Freddie, Sonia, Assvaldo, Gael, and Roxi discuss Pedro's return and the what, where and who he's doing if not Aitana. .  . and on cue the Hairy One enters the living room with Sergio right behind her.  Sergio is trying to keep her from interrupting Pedro's time with Eloisa.  Aitana thinks there's no time like the present because it's all about HER.  He owes HER an explanation.  Something or somebody is always coming between Pedro and HER.  Freddie steps up to give Aitana a reality check.  I don't catch Freddie's opening line but Aitana tells her if she has something to say to her, to say it directly.  Freddie has no problem obliging:  "Have a little dignity.  Pedro stood you up at the altar on your wedding day, he doesn't want anything to do with you, he doesn't care to offer you an explanation and here you are in his house waiting for one.  Isn't it obvious that he doesn't want you?"  Well, that was too clear for Aitana so she tries to flounce off, declaring that she's wasting her time talking to Freddie when who she wants to talk to is Pedro.  Sergio has the last word.  Pedro needs to talk to his Abuela and clarify things with her first.

Well, Eloisa seems back to her old self as she tells Pedro his "confusion" is no excuse for the shameful way he behaved which will have negative repercussions for the family AND the business.  Benigno is furious and he has put her in a very difficult position.  Pedro notes with relief that Eloisa seems to be her old self.  He's glad and tells her so.  He takes Eloisa to her chair to sit her down.  He's going to give her the whole story.  He wants her to pay attention and not interrupt him.  In barges Dante through the open door brusquely announcing it's time for her drops.  Eloisa immediately reverts to coo coo, running to thank and embrace "Maximo" for bringing her medicine,  Dante looks startled as Eloisa announces that she has chosen Pedro to be the trusted representative of the family.  She will forgive him anything and he will be a fine successor to "Maximo."  Dante seems truly stricken as he extricates himself from Eloisa's embrace and leaves, closing the door.  Pedro tenderly helps her back to bed and encourages her to rest as he exits as well, scratching his head in confusion.  After he leaves, Eloisa's eyes fly open and stare.

Well, folks, let me pick up the pace or I'll be here all night.  Fiorella and Gianna talk on the phone.  Fiorella finally tells Gianna where she is and swears her to secrecy.  Not even Benito must know.  Fidel enters the bedroom where Gianna is and tells her Gael is there.  She wraps up the conversation and gives Fidel back his phone.  Yes, it's your favorite couple and they don't disappoint, grinning and glowing at each other.  Gael tells Gianna about the mysterious person instant messaging him, claiming to want to help him.  Gael wonders who could it be and how did they know about his problem?  Gianna thinks it's not important and tries to kiss his worries away.

Next, it's Fiorella and Pedro's turn.  Like lovers do they tell each other in seven different ways how much they love each other and want to be together and will never part again once they reunite. It's a full-on FFOL moment as he pledges to do everything in his power to be back with her again.  They plan to meet.  Aitana walks into his room just as he is telling Fiorella he will see her the next day and demands to know who he was talking to.  He asks if she's spying on him.   Should she be? is her answer.  He says he was talking to a specialist about Eloisa.  He tells her he's tired of her hounding him and he doesn't flinch when she tells him Benigno wants to talk to him.  Oh yeah?  Well, he wants to talk to Benigno as well.  He invites her to leave with a forcefulness we wished we'd seen earlier.  She returns his "buenos noches" and seems stunned that he is unmoved by her smile.  She leaves.

Okay, let's lighten it up.  Breakfast time at Rey and Adela's with Fiorella as someone knocks on the door.  The three panic a bit and all cackle noisily.  Fiorella runs to hide and Rey asks who it is in a mousey voice.  Oh!  It's Gianna!  The girls great each other with big hugs and gleeful laughter.

At the University Roxi asks Gael if he came up with any more information on his mother's suspected lover.  Nope, but he tells her about the mysterious texting Samaritan.  Roxi asks for Gael's phone, gets the phone number of the texter and calls right then and there.

Fiorella and Gianna continue to talk and Fifi gets Gigi to admit that all is NOT well and that Aitana has been threatening her.  Fiorella flies off the handle and is ready to go to the ranch THIS MINUTE and drag that harpy around by her hair!  Gianna finally calms her down:  Fiorella has sacrificed so much for her, now it is her turn to take care of Fiorella and now Pedro is back at the ranch.

Assvaldo finds a pensive Aitana in the board room, caresses her face and sits very close to her as she whines about Daddy making her marry Pedro.  Sonia comes in and is not pleased with what she sees.  Sonia can't believe that Aitana is going to continue working for a company where the CEO left her at the altar, doesn't she have any dignity?  Aitana replies that her dignity is proportionate to the shares her Daddy has in the company, which is also hers.  Sonia doesn't acknowledge that she lost that skirmish.  Assvaldo and Aitana exchange knowing smiles as she leaves.  Ass boy feels full of himself as he tries to kiss Sonia, asking her if she's jealous.

Back at Adela's and Rey's Gianna accepts to stay a bit longer when Benito calls wanting to come over and talk to Rey about his love life.  Rey puts him off with a cockamamie story about cockroaches and then feels badly for not being available to Benni.  Gigi promises to cheer him up when she sees him.

At the ranch again Quina helps Eloisa down the stairs as she protests that she is JUST FINE!  Just then Simoneta ushers Vitto into the room and Pedro enters from another door.  He and Vitto exchange as much stink eye as one can when one party is wearing shades.  Eloisa asks Pedro why didn't he bring Fiorella with him.  This is all Vitto needed to hear as he faces Pedro and tells him if he was man enough to steal his fiancé, he should be man enough to face the consequences.  The more Eloisa babbles about Fiorella the more Vitto understands Eloisa is not in her right mind.  Simoneta and Quina take Eloisa upstairs leaving Vitto and Pedro to face off again.  Pedro sticks to the Gianluca story and Vitto informs him Gianluca and Fiorella did not return to Italy.  Pedro repeats he knows nothing of Fiorella's whereabouts and tries to leave.  Vitto looks warily at Pedro, expresses well wishes for Eloisa's recovery.  Pedro motions toward the door and Vitto finally leaves.

Anibal shows up at La Dolce Vita much to Diana's horror.  She tries to get him to leave but he goes deeper into Vitto's office.

Pedro is riding his motor bike, Vitto is following.

Aitana and Assvaldo make out in the board room.  Sonia records it on her cell phone.

Pedro arrives at Rey and Adela's and steps inside right into Fiorella's open arms in full view of the open door which just closes as Vitto arrives.  He listens at the door.  Inside Rey and Adela watch Fiorella and Pedro smooch.  Jeez.

Sonia vows Assvaldo will pay, sees Benigno and pulls him aside.  She's got something to discuss with him.

Vitto demands to be let in.  Pedro, Fiorella, Gianna, Rey and Adela fret inside about what to do.

Anibal has snatched up some files and carries on in mock surprise about how loaded her boyfriend, Vittorio, is but his greed is real.   Domingo enters the office where they are and Diana and Anibal pretend he is a patron who lost his way to the bathroom  (I think).  Domingo escorts him out.

Finally Vitto is let into Adela and Rey's.  He demands to see Fiorella, he heard her voice, he knows she is there.  They all deny it.  He wants the truth.  Gianna is like, look who's talking about truth.  What is she talking about he asks in a low, menacing voice.  The picture he sent when he first met Fiorella.  That chills him out some.  Oh, well, that was an unfortunate mistake.

Roxi has a text conversation with Papi Chulo (thanks, Diva!) in which she grills him about how he knows so much about Gael.  He learned it from an undisclosed family member.  They are suspicious of each other but agree to meet in person.

Sonia has taken Benigno into an office at ACorp and is about to show him the video of Ass and Aitana sucking face when the ass, himself, comes in.  She had gotten as far as there being a camera in the laptop in the board room.  Assvaldo encourages her to go ahead with her story.

Having been cornered by Vitto, Gianna begins to fake cry wondering where her sister could be if she's not with Gianluca or Pedro.  Vitto decides he's going to the Police.  He's not leaving any stone unturned until "his girl" comes back.  Pedro begins to argue with Vitto that Fiorella is not his girl and if she left, she left of her own free will.  No need to involve the Police.  Pedro is really getting into the argument:  Fiorella is not his, he doesn't own her, it was a crazy arrangement, he is obsessed with her.  Vitto says it's HIS decision and he leaves, saying he's going to the Police RIGHT NOW!  He leaves and Fiorella immediately runs out of hiding to wring hands with  Pedro, Gianna, Adela and Rey.

Back with Sonia, Benigno and Assvaldo, her little plan to bust Assvaldo is totally busted.  She winds up just telling him she wanted him to be aware of the camera on the laptop, you know, for security and privacy reasons.  Benigno verbally pats her on the head and tells Assvaldo on the way out that this is the reason he leaves his wife at home and does not allow her to interfere in business matters.  After Benigno leaves, Sonia tries to confront him about Aitana but he simply throws Fabio and Pedro back in her face. Assvaldo claims what he's doing with Aitana is all part of the game.  Sonia remains pissed.

Pedro tries to comfort and reassure Fiorella.  Yes, break out the booze and chocolate because he will defend her against whomever; he will defend her with his life if necessary!   Sergio calls Pedro.  Sergio is in Eloisa's room with Dr. Elizalde who wants to talk to him about his Abuela.  I don't know, she's looking kinda sharp and spry doing bicycles or a seated soft shoe in the foreground.  Pedro says he'll be right there.  [Rapid fire speech made me miss some of this, feel free to fill in]  After he hangs up, Pedro and Fiorella explain that they have to keep her whereabouts and their marriage a secret until he demonstrates that Benigno is a lying, swindling crook and Aitana is his accomplice.  Rey and Adela continuing ogling as Pedro and Fiorella says goodbye.  "Why don't you kiss me like that?" demands Adela, forcing a visual upon me I could've done without.

Roxi meets the mystery texter in a café and realizes it is Papi Chulo from the day of the NOT-wedding.  She lights into Papi to leave Gael alone.  Papi Chulo helplessly says he just wants to help Gael.  "If you want to help him, leave him in peace or I'm gonna call the cops!"

Again at the ranch,  Gael tells Gianna about Roxi's plan to meet with the mystery texter.  Gianna thinks it could be dangerous, something Gael didn't think about.

Finally, in the study, Dr. Elizalde tells Pedro that the chances of Eloisa recuperating are very slim.  Once dementia starts, it's very difficult to reverse the damage.  She will probably never recover.  Dante and Freddie listen on the other side of the door with bated breath.  It's a wonder Freddie didn't break out in a cheer.

Y Fin.

Ciao, Peeps! Okay, I was having a little trouble hearing and at some points folk were talking fast, music was loud, maybe my ears were tired. Okay. Enough bellyachin'. Feel free to correct or fill in where needed y mille grazie!

He and Vitto exchange as much stink eye as one can when one party is wearing shades.

What a great quip! As was the "visual I could do without". Alas, old folks passionately kissing...not quite as lovely as young beautiful folks doing it. The really sad part, all those old people are still young and romantic inside!

Haven't watched this yet, but looking forward to seeing Pedro glare at Aitana and act with a little more hombria around her. Tired of the wussy pussy-footing.

And know what you mean, Lila, about your ears getting tired. Sometimes, even in real life, people seem to be talking too fast for me. And in comedies, they always seem to gabble at breakneck speed.

Thanks for the great recap. Nice way to start my Saturday morning which is brrrrr cold. But normal for December.

Buongiorno, JudyB and mille grazie, amica! Yes, we have gotten a reality check of our own. It has been in the high 40s, high 50s even so when we got a little lake effect snow and the temp plummeted to the high 20s, the roads turned to sheets of ice! Yikes! Still, it's better than being buried under snow which gets "refreshed" with several more inches every other day!

Oh! The show! I had difficulty hearing the "rationale" for hiding Fiorella and the fact that they're married. This was discussed in the scene where Pedro was saying goodbye to Fiorella in Adela and Rey's living room. If anyone has a better take on what was set, feel free to fill in. I just hope that Pedro's pretending not to know where Fiorella is doesn't involve him pretending to make up with Aitana to "get close" to her to expose her and Benigno's scheme! I will post a 25 point, bold, all caps, SCREAM on my recap! I know that sounds crazy but why isn't what he has enough?

Also, I know I've been taking snipes at "old people" but I ain't no baby myself so no offense to my fellow wise and ripened peeps out there. Speaking of which, me and a friend were just comparing notes on our Moms, both of whom suffer from dementia. Her mom is 93 and mine is 87. Anyway we had JUST discussed their waxing and waning moments of clarity that are expressed not only with words but facial expressions and glances. These moments of clarity are interspersed with fear, sadness and thinly veiled hostility as they eye family members who truly mean them well (NOT like Freddie!) suspiciously and often mount resistance with surprising vigor! It is absolutely heartbreaking as the moments of clarity give you hope and then the plunges into hostility or happy confusion dashes your hope once more! I hope Eloisa is faking but if she is not, her portrayal is sadly spot on. Now, within the story I think some of this has been occasioned by the killer drops of doom and so I hope Freddie gets her comeuppance in madness!

Grazie, JudyB!

Splendid Lila.

"Why don't you kiss me like that?" demands Adela, forcing a visual upon me I could've done without and "Dante and Freddie listen on the other side of the door with bated breath. It's a wonder Freddie didn't break out in a cheer" were among my favorites.

The entire episode seemed to be a series of Fi and Pedro almost getting caught. Darting in and out of rooms with split second timing seeming to be on their side. For the moment.

I dislike Sonia but Aitana, even more so! I was rooting for her to show the video and was disappointed Os escaped, yet again. I wish there were more likeable characters to root for.

I begrudgingly give Roxi props for taking charge and trying to find out who Gael's texter was. Too bad she refused to stay and hear the story, but I can't blame her for feeling he is being stalked.

This touched my heart Lila and bears repeating: "These moments of clarity are interspersed with fear, sadness and thinly veiled hostility as they eye family members who truly mean them well...suspiciously and often mount resistance with surprising vigor! It is absolutely heartbreaking as the moments of clarity give you hope and then the plunges into hostility or happy confusion dashes your hope once more!" Beautifully phrased.

Diana

Buongiorno e mille grazie, Diana!

I begrudgingly give Roxi props for taking charge and trying to find out who Gael's texter was. Too bad she refused to stay and hear the story,

ITA, Diana, but did she leave? I'm hoping that scene will be picked back up Monday and that Papi Chulo was able to chill her out.

Diana, thank you for your comment on the harsh reality of dementia. It is sad and can be vicious but there are times when you can laugh with your loved one. Although I want Eloisa to be faking and she is not, as they say in the novelas, a saint of my devotion, either way the dementia story goes will not be off the mark.

Ya know what Lila, you got a way of saying things that hit me in the solar plexus, be that the origin of a belly laugh or all encompassing sadness. Remarkable really.

Awww, Tofie! :)

Lila - Thank you for the recap!!!

It will be interesting to see if Eloisa is faking, or not. This just seems like a big honkin' bowl of crazy, all at once. Doesn't dementia usually present the symptoms a bit more slowly and not overnight?

Perhaps Fed's Deadly Drops are causing this and even Fed doesn't realize that. The deadly drops could be interacting with Elo's good drops, as in negative drug interactions.

However, this behavior began after Elo saw Simona drink from El's glass and pass out. Hhmmm......

Which, BTW, the show never addressed a diagnosis or anything about Simona passing out. Apparently the household guessed she just fainted, and end of story?
Eloisa is a shrewd creature and might be counting on the baddies talking about their nefarious deeds in front of her and thus outing themselves.

Interesting that Fiorella has not worn a flowered dress since returning from honeymoonus interruptus. We've seen a solid red and a solid blue, so far. Both colors are very flattering to Fi's "winter" coloring.

What a relief that Adela and Rey's is a Braid-Free Zone!

Is it my imagination, or is Federica's attire not quite as bizarre as before?

Thanks you so much for this wonderful recap, Lila, and for the touching and profound meditation on dementia and loved ones.

Let's hope that if Eloisa is not faking it, that the drops are the cause and it can be reversed.

Doris- Yes. Fiorella has been literally deflowered, after having figuratively been deflowered by Pedro.

Pedro's non-existent plan makes me worried. He says he will protect Fi (and Gi), but has has not backed that up with action or a real plan. I did like seeing him being so cold and firm with Aitana though.

Mille grazie, Doris! Yah, I think the sudden burst of Eloisa's dimentia is done for dramatic impacet but I have heard of suddent onset of bizarre behavior that people then begin to link to past events that were just ascribed to personality quirks but I like your speculation:

However, this behavior began after Elo saw Simona drink from El's glass and pass out. Hhmmm......

Eloisa is a shrewd creature and might be counting on the baddies talking about their nefarious deeds in front of her and thus outing themselves.

And I think the aftermath of Simona's issue was edited out perhaps? ITA that Fiorella has, as Vivi cleverly put it yesteday, been deflowered, and Freddie attire has improved. One day she had on a flattering black top and a stiped, black and white poufed out skirt (sorry, I don't speak fasion) that was quite flattering on her.

Grazie, mille grazie, Vivi! It seems every episode I'm clinging on to hope for our crazy kids, the hope that they would actually marry was fulfilled and now I, with you and everyone else, hope Eloisa is faking the dementia. That would be so sweet to have Granny AND Pedro come down on the de la Riva Palmas and Assvaldo all at once. I also want Eloisa to see who "la mujer indicada" REALLY is and reestablish her affection for Fiorella. The only thing that might make Eloisa really appreciate and respect Fiorella is Santino and Julieta's return claiming her as their long lost child and the daughter of a Duke!

Hey. Where did we get the Duke thing from? Somebody refresh me!

Pedro's non-existent plan makes me worried. He says he will protect Fi (and Gi), but has has not backed that up with action or a real plan.

Yikes! Let's hope the above revelations come before Pedro's lack of plan does them in!

Well, I guess it does seem that Pedro was about to reveal the dirt on Aitana's family to Eloisa, until she began calling Dante Maximo. Then he put her to bed and scratched that plan.

That's true. Once he realized that her "recovery" was a false alarm. Now what with Dr. Elizalde told him he may not attempt to tell her the truth again.

And boy, am I tired of opened doors, baddies eavesdropping and strategic interruptions! GAH! I guess this is standard for novelas bt it's just. so. ANNOYING!

I keep chewing on this Eloca stuff and am convinced she is faking because, right now, she does not know who to trust, including Dante. That is my Crackpot Theory™. Otherwise, the camera would not have shown us her eyes slightly open and listening. That alone is our big clue from the writers, IMO. When Elo opened her eyes and stared, she was probably processing what she just heard. Truly, I don't think we would have been shown that, if this was true dementia.

Good one, Doris. I was thinking a few minutes ago that Eloisa's sudden lapse into coo coo was because she does not want Dante to know she IS in her right mind. Afterall, she heard Dante and Freddie plotting to take advantage of her current state. I am hoping that once she can get Pedro alone without anybody to barge in for one thing or another and hopefully out of earshot of everybody, he will tell her what he discovered!

Just splendid Lila, as always!!

I'm not so sure now of this plan of Petey's. Lord, that could drag out ad nauseum. Does that leave Fifi as a prisoner in A & R's place in the meantime? I'm sorry, dude, you have money. How about a nice hotel room, a short term lease apartment in a part of town maybe she can have some fresh air and freedom?

Meanwhile, we have to put up with Os and him macking disgustedly on another wench. I swear the directors and writers think this guy is "all that" too. Well, he's not, and I wish it would stop. It's like the thing of nightmares watching him and the walking mop going at it.

I'm a member of the "Eloisa is faking it" club. Her switch between lucid/witchy self and the helpless old lady is too fast and calculated. My guess if this is for Dante and Freddie only. If she was on to Beg and his daughter, she wouldn't be all over Petey about leaving that idiot at the altar.

I understand Rox trying to protect Gael, as disappointed as we are since we suspect who this stranger is. I wish he would be less creepy about it with the ambivalent texts and more straight-forward. You know: "Gael, I am a good friend of your family though have been away for awhile. I knew your mother. Heard you have some issues that maybe I can help with." Non-committal but sure would have been a little less stalkery.

Vitto needs to fall in a hole. Everything about him and Diana and Anibal is a raging bore.

Daisynjay

Mille grazie, Daisynjay!

Like, Amen!

I'm sorry, dude, you have money. How about a nice hotel room, a short term lease apartment in a part of town maybe she can have some fresh air and freedom?

From your keyboard to Papi Chulo's ears:

I wish he would be less creepy about it with the ambivalent texts and more straight-forward.

Hear! Hear! For a hole for Vitto! Would have been interesting if someone could have written the story such that Pedro DID bring Fiorella back as his wife instead of hiding her. This is the same tactic he used with Tania though in less nice digs! Grow a pair, Petey!

Daisynjay - you're so right about Gael's presumed dad, but this IS telenovelaland so nobody has a boatload of common sense.

Still chuckling about "from your keyboard to Papi Chulo's ears". That sentence just cracks me up. STILL haven't seen this yet, but dying to. Other people (ahem) keep commandeering the TV.

So, my one act of rebelliousness at 15 ended in disaster. A whole week of planning and a sleepover with one of my cheerleader friends allowed me to sneak out and see my crush who had been bragging for a few weeks about going out in his car. Well, the appointed night arrives, I slip out scared to death, and he drives up in a beater Maverick, his friends car, because he was too afraid to take his car out of the drive. Ok, he was swoon worthy right up until the car broke down and the fool gave me a kiss on the cheek and headed home on foot and told me to do the same and don't tell anybody. Petey reminds me of him.

Lila, I loved your recap. And I really really
Liked the the episode too. I wish all telenova
Soaps were this satisfyingly happy. Yes, there Is still some jerky stuff and people, but the 2 Inlove people got to together finally. And Christmas too.
I knew the ol girl was fakin it. Now how long
Is it going to be before he tells granny the
Whole story? Without interruption? Before
Christmas would be nice.

When is the cat going to be out of the bag about gael's nice man in the park daddy? That would be a nice christmas gift for the
Patio christmas party.....in my mind. His eyes
Are so pretty.
Freddy is a bit of a flake, but she has her moments. Like when put asstana in her place

Really good and funny recap Lila girl.
Quik question yall. Is gael's name pronounced gail like a girls name. Cuz when his name is said on the show, it sounds like
"Gile". The "a" has an I sound. Just wondering about that. Any takers?

Merry Christmas yall!!! :-D

Oh tofie, what a jerk!

Pedro probably paid for Tania's apartment so why can't he pay for one for Fiorella?

I'm telling' y'all, the last decent swoon-worthy galan in a telenovela, that I have seen, was Juan del Diablo in CS '93.

Nina- The name is spelled Gael, it's two syllables: gai (pronounced like lie)- yel (just like it looks).

OUCH, Tofie! I wish Petey could read your comment. Yah, he definitely inspired my title. Does he have time to redeem himself as galan, y'all, or do you think he already has done so by marrying Fiorella?

Or,

Did he never lose galan status?

Mille grazie, Nina! Always love your enthusiasm and I REALLY love your Christmas presents from MIVAC to the Patio. That would be soo nice!

Nina, the Spanish "a" sounds like our "ah" and the "e" sounds like the "e" in Ed. When those to sounds are blended together ah + eh, it can sound like long "i" as in ice. It's a pretty name.

"A Gael is anyone of Irish-Gaelic ancestry. . . "
http://www.icgaels.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=803573

Doris, I watched CS '93 on line about a year ago and it was so damned good I want to watch it again! Oh, my, Juan del Diablo was THE MAN!

He was a braggart, that's what he was. He had a little MG his parents bought and wouldn't let him take it out after a speeding ticket. Guess he was motivated enough to borrow his friends car but boy was I disappointed to ride around in a Maverick when I expected a MG. Oh, I told everybody at school.

My parents were very strict and it was the first time it dawned on me a guy would offer most anything in an effort to you know....make my panties fall off but there was a wide gulf between what was offered and reality and healthy skepticism a virtue.

Gabriel Soto's Max is a wonderful galan over on Yo No. Petey ain't and never was one.

Cool. I like Gabriel Soto.

Vivi and Lila, thank you for that lesson in pronouncing gael's name. It's a very pretty name for A boy. I like it. I really love the spelling of it.

You guys are precious. Thank you again.

No problem, Nina. :D

Thanks for this, Lila. Your retelling really added spice to an already exciting episode.

I am definitely in the El is faking it camp. I appreciated hearing about your experiences with those close to you who have had problems with dementia. I have an aunt (by marriage) who has Alzheimer's, as did her mother, and her 50ish female daughter. Apart from diseases that cause excurciating pain, I can't imagine a worse fate.

I think that the better path for Pedro and Fi would have been for them to walk in the front door and announce that they were man and wife and to hell with anyone who objected, and, oh, by the way, Aitana is a spy, Begnigno is a crook, Os is a two timing dimwit, and ACorp is going down the tubes if you all let these people continue on.

Vitto is such a sorry caricature. As JudyB noted above, inside all of we old folks there resides the memory of our young selves, but most of us have the good sense not to act out on those feelings. Vitto is now surrounded by people who know exactly what he has been doing, and are not going to give him any type of support.

Thanks again, Lila. I always appreciate your take on things.

"I think that the better path for Pedro and Fi would have been for them to walk in the front door and announce that they were man and wife and to hell with anyone who objected"

Here, here. They are adults, man and wife by law, why hide? Petey is a coward. Gianna is the brave one, she's covered for Fifi and Petey and suffered the ire of Aitana. Pretty selfish, the both of them, they either didn't consider anyone else or they did and didn't care. Now Fifi wonders what is wrong with Gianna, clueless bimbo.

They are being selfish. Remember when he
Was telling fifi after they ran away, the only people They should think about now was themselves? No One else mattered but them.
Im sure he knows the people in his family are
A bunch of greedy dimwitted cutthroats who
could care less about a defenseless little girl with a heart problem. And fiorella is acting like she want to get up and go and pull the hairy ones hair out and still haven't done anything yet. If Pedro is trying to set a trap to catch the crooks he need to hurry up before they kill Gianna. And you're right tofie, they are legal.
He can still set a trap and catch them, as man & wife. Together. Obviously the writers
Have something else in mind.

Grazie, David! Busy day prepping for the holiday!

David, you speak truth:

I think that the better path for Pedro and Fi would have been for them to walk in the front door and announce that they were man and wife and to hell with anyone who objected, and, oh, by the way, Aitana is a spy, Begnigno is a crook, Os is a two timing dimwit, and ACorp is going down the tubes if you all let these people continue on.

I hope this silly "let's fight for our love while hiding it under a rock" strategy is not too excruciating! Well, we've made it this far, I reckon we can hang through the upcoming shenanigans but I may be kicking and screaming!

Amen, Nina. Your whole post above is right on!

Oh hi folks. I agree that Petey is a coward. In that case, why did he married Fiorella if he is not going to give her the place that she deserves as his wife and senora Angeles? If I were in Fiorellas's place, I think I would be upset of being hided. If Pietro's reasons are to protect her from all the snakes, like you all said he could buy or rent her an apartment or house. Why hide her in Adela and Ray's house if that is one of the first places where Vittorio was going to look for her and if Benito sees her, he is not a person who knows to shup up his mouth very well. We have enough with Gianna who also doesn't shup up her mouth very well and seems that wants to spill the beans everytime that she talks. Oh besides, how many time could it take Petey to unmask Ratana and Beg especially having Ass in their side?

Oh talking of Ass, oh I think that all these women sleeping with him need to go and check with a doctor if they don't have HIV or any sexually transmiting diseases especially her wife Sonia. Ass kisses her and then kisses Ratana in the same day. He was practically almost doing sex with Ratana in the boardroom, is just that Looneyvision edited a big part of a scene where he even bite her ear or pull out her earring and she was opening or lifting her legs in excitement while kissing him.

Hey, Marla Yah, a lot of us are not real happy with Pedro. I guess we're supposed to take this to mean the pressures from his family and business are tremendous. I agree, however, this could have been a bold move to declare himself as the head of the family and business, declare Fiorella as his wife and get rid of the de la Riva Palmas, Assvaldo and Sonia in one swift move by exposing the whole stock swindle and takeover scheme. Yah, the writers DO have other ideas they're going to inflict on us.

Glad they edited out that scene you describe. Sounds ugly and raunchy!

They should have edited out El comin In there With that ugly wedding dress on and the bad Bridal vail. That was a bad scene. An ugly One at that. Ok yall have at it, I'm done for the night.
Stay warm or cool. Depending on what part
Of the country you're in. El Nino's givin us a hot christmas in north florida. 84° Christmas day. Not likin that much, but Merry Christmas anyway. :-)

Gracias, Lila :D I enjoyed reading this. Ah, well, we're still doing some kind of a dance, but at least they changed up the music? Catch you on the next one....
