Pasion y Poder #21, Wednesday December 2, 2015
Hey Patio Peeps. Sorry but I could only do bullet points for tonight's capitulo. Please let me know what I missed or if you have any questions. Have a great day.
- Arturo wants to interrogate all the employees involved in the business deal to find the guilty person. Augustin thinks he's crazy. He can't see how anyone close to them was involved in the dirty deal because they have all been working there so long and are loyal. Arturo thinks the opposite and tells Erick that he should be taking better care of the company that is his as well.
- Regina and David talk about being blackmailed by the papparazzi. Regina is worried. He tries to calm her down. She tells him that they should have never gotten close because sometimes even destiny makes a mistake and she leaves. Francisco can see how much in love David is with Regina. David is worried about the family rivalry. Francisco says to forget about everyone else because they need to be together.
- Gisela tells Clarita that she saw Maribel with another man and that his name is Francisco. Clarita tells her that Maribel is not involved with Francisco. Gisela gets a phone call from her daughter in jail telling her that she might get out in less than a month.
- Erick is drinking at a bar. He thinks he's going to loose RatGirl (Montserrat).
The Montenegro family is having dinner. Art talks his deal gone bad. Regina needs to talk with her father. Dani gets an alert on her phone with the picture of Regina and David. Nina shows it to Art. He wants to explanation from Regina.
- Eladio is cheerful about beating out Art. Franco shows him the pic and story of Regina and David. Eladio wants an explanation from David.
- Regina is trying to explain but keeps being interrupted. Nina thinks Regina called off the wedding for David. Art wants to know if it's true.
- Eladio calls David a trader. Julia tries to calm the situation but Eladio is pissed. He won't let David give an explanation.
- Nina is worried about the scandal. Regina explains that David and her are only working together. When Art asks about the compromising photo she says that she slipped. Nina demands that Regina resign from the project. Art and Regina leave to talk in the office. Nina tells Connie that she's the perfect wife for not giving her opinion. Miguel says that Nina is far from that. Dani tells him to shut it because he is not at their level. Miguel agrees that if they are talking about levels of intelligence, he is nowhere near them. Dani is confused.
- Erick sees the photo of Regina and David and thought bubbles that Regina just saved him.
- David tells his parents that he is not a trader. He explains that he and Regina are only working together. Eladio does not believe him, but thinks it can work in their favor. Eladio wants David to use Regina to get inside information about Regina's father.
- Regina tells her father about how she met David in Queretaro. He figures that David was the reason she wanted to leave the project a while back. He asks if David did something to Regina.
- David can't do what his father asks. Eladio gives him an ultimatum. Either David do what his father asks, or he leaves the project in Queretaro to go work for Eladio. David pleads his case but Eladio tells him that he is not asking David, but telling him, end of discussion. Eladio and Franco leave the roon. Julia wants to know the truth from David about his relationship with Regina.
- Regina tells her father that it got a bit uncomfortable working with David. Art wants her to leave the project. She wants to stay and finish what she started. He wants her to quit and NEVER see David Gomez Luna again.
- Nina tries to calm the social waters down about the Regina/David scandal. Miguel and Connie wonder if Regina told her dad about her romantic relationship with David. Erick arrives home and wants answers from Regina, who he calls a trader.
- Julia wants to know if it was Regina that David was kissing when she saw them in Queretaro. He does not answer that question but tells her that he is not dating or in a relationship with Regina. He just wants to fix the relationship he was starting to have with his father. Julia asks if he is going to use Regina and he tells her no.
- Erick announces to the whole family that Regina is the mole. She was the one that gave insider information to Gomez Luna.
- Maribel's husband brings Gisela some dessert. She tells him that there is a man that frequently visits Maribel in their home when he is not there. He does not believe her.
- Regina defends herself against Erick's accusations saying she can't give insider information when she doesn't even know what goes on in the company. Art defends Regina. Everyone goes to the dinning room. Miguel asks Regina if she is going to stop seeing David. She says she has no other choice.
- Regina and David text each other. She reminds him that only bad things happen when they get together.
- Maribel's husband asks her if there is something she wants to say. She is able to avoid talking about her illness. He tells her that Gisela saw her with a man. Maribel explains that it was Clarita's boss, Francisco. He apologizes and they kiss.
- Regina and David run into each other. They agree to stop working together and they agree to resign from the Queretaro project.
- Eladio is pissed that David is not at the office. Francisco tells him that David went to Queretaro. Eladio calls David and leaves him a message saying that he better be in Queretaro to resign from the project.
- Connie tells Erick that she's pregnant. He tells her that it's bad timing. (Jerk!)
- Regina and David run into the man and woman in charge of the project. They heard about the family scandals. They hope it will not impeed on their work. Regina and David talk and agree to keep working together on the project.
- Connie is confused about Erick's reaction. He asks for forgiveness and to not tell anyone yet.
- Augustin tells Art that he is looking over all the employees accounts to find out who the rat is. He asks Art if he wants him to investigate the executives accounts too, including Erick. Art says yes.
- Miguel asks Connie how Erick took the pregnancy news. She says it was bad, and blames herself for the bad timing. Miguel is furious.
- David and Regina say a long goodbye to each other. They agree to communicate via email and meet at Francisco's apartment if necessary.
- Miguel angrily tells Connie that Erick doesn't deserve her. Connie defends Erick. Miguel tells her that Erick is still seeing TheRat and has been doing so for a long time.
- Erick goes to see TheRat. She tells him that he's an idiot for being tricked by Eladio. She wants to know about the money he got paid.
- Miguel tells Connie the info he found on Erick's phone about TheRat. Miguel hates to see her suffer. Connie says that he is her best friend. They hug and Miguel looks like he wants to kiss her but doesn't. He tells her he wants to confront Erick to tell him to stop seeing TheRat. Connie says NO, she has to be the one to talk to him.
- TheRat wants to know how much money Erick got from Eladio. He explains to her that the check he already gave her was all the money. He thought he was going to get another 50 million pesos, but he only got 50 pesos. TheRat is upset.
- Francisco tells David to stop pretending. He knows that continuing with the project is an excuse to keep seeing Regina because he is still in love with her. David says even if that were true it doesn't matter because Regina is getting married. Francisco tells him that the wedding was cancelled.
- TheRat tells Erick that despite loving him she can't be with him because love doesn't put food on the table. She was clear that if he wanted her to leave Eladio, Erick needed to provide her a secure future. He is leaving her no other option than to go back to Eladio. She asks Erick to leave. If he isn't man enough to support a woman like her, then he doesn't deserve her. She blames Erick for their breakup, saying he has to do more than satisfy her in the bedroom. He warns her that things will not stay the same. She slams the door and calls him an imbecile.
- Connie is going to go confront TheRat. Miguel stops her. Connie gets a pain and starts bleeding. Miguel carries her back upstairs and says he will call the doctor.
- Nina and Dani show up at Art's office to take him to her therapy session. He says he can't because he has a HUGE problem to resolve. The two brats act like brats when he says he can't go and leave.
- Julia is looking at a one of Art's letters when Eladio walks in and sees her. He demands to see the paper in her hand and sees that it's a letter from Art. He thinks they are still seeing each other.

Erick is not even human. He tried to throw Regina under the SST landing wheels by accusing her of leaking info to the enemy, the act of treason he just committed. He is definitely his mother's son.
Now is the time Arturo needs to wake up and demand that Erick and Daniela admit that they hate their sister and require them to explain themselves. He must also make Nina shut up. But I'm sure if that ever happens it won't be soon.

Urban- Yeah, I think my mouth fell open just like Regina's, when Erick accused her of being behind the business sabotage HE committed. Thank goodness Art didn't even consider it for a second. I was disappointed that Connie kept standing by her man (literally) when he made that accusation. She should have immediately gone and stood next to Regina to show she backed her up, like Miguel did.

AuntyAnn, a sensational recap.
"Miguel agrees that if they are talking about levels of intelligence, he is nowhere near them. Dani is confused" and "Nina tries to calm the social waters down about the Regina/David scandal" were excellent.
As painful as it was to watch Eladio berate David and Arturo (dazed and confused) question Regina, I find I could not focus on the principals. Dani and Franco (ostensibly on the sidelines) were painfully revolting in their glee at the suffering their siblings were enduring. These two are irredeemable.
I loved that Miguel went and stood beside Regina as the assault ratcheted up into high gear. I was a bit surprised Connie did not join them, but she looked rather confused at the ensuring drama (as did I)...
Does Nina have any love for Regina? She seems to care for the callous Dani and Erick, the children who, like her, have no soul.
Did Connie actually think Erick would be happy at her news? I am wondering what it is going to take to have her realize what a monster he is. And I agree with Urban and Vivi in that Erick trying to blame Regina was disgusting. Even for him.

Tofie, he should just have put her on a couch and called the doctor. Why have the doctor or ambulance attendees climb those stairs later? Time is of the essence.
Of course the producer wants us to see that fabulous staircase.
If Consuelo loses the baby Erick will cheer his good luck at escaping two traps. However, I don't think that will last. Either Augustin or Miguel will catch what happened. The deposit before the 50 pesos will get someone's attention, especially when they see where it came from. It's not likely to reflect any amount from the company.
Also, I disagree about 50 pesos not being suspicious. Why would anyone bother to deposit that little at this crowd's income level?
50 million pesos translates to 2.975 million US dollars. Hardly enough to satisfy the greedy Rat and not enough to support Erick's accustomed lifestyle.

Whoever predicted that Regina would have a harder time was on the money (Vivi, I think that was you). Eladio is a rage monster and Julia is too weak to defend David effectively (Franco has the smarts to be quiet after just serving as messenger), but Regina has Nina, Erick, and Daniela to worry about. She is too beaten down to fight all of them, even with Arturo and Miguel on her side.
The fact that Daniela has the nerve to tell Miguel he is "not on our level" shows that she is nowhere near the princess she thinks she is.

Urban- And even though Art is supportive of Regina, he's still demanding that she quit her Queretaro job and never see/speak to David again. She's fighting against her whole family, except for Miguel (and Connie, when she speaks up).
If I were a character in this story I wouldn't disagree with Arturo because there doesn't seem to be a way to protect oneself from the gutter press. No matter how innocent any contact is somebody will make something dirty out of it. Not to mention that it provokes Eladio which is dangerous. He's like a boa constrictor waiting to strike. He chokes the life out of everyone around him.

Consuelo isn't cheating on that loser. He's not shooting blanks after all, but they've had such infrequent sex it has to be an issue of stress and timing.
She wanted to try but he didn't whether he said so or not. That he isn't happy about this is more than telling. It's obvious to us because we know it all, but Consuelo needs to read all the signposts.

Is it me, or is a good thing this TN comes on later because it still leaves me with heartburn after I watch. I keep the cats at bay so I don't accidentially start strangling a living thing as I watch RaTT and Erick. Or Nina, and add Dani...oh and Franco. Get my drift.
It's getting a big challenging to even understand why Regina and David may continue to want to live under the same roofs or be part of their families as this progresses. They should just move to are of the project and be done with it. And yes, they both come from wealthy families so are target bate for the Paps people. But maybe they should point out to said parents that MAYBE if they acted like true adults and business people instead of two years old sniping across the companies and Nina gabbing up the tabloids at how perfect her family is ( woman...you are just asking for them to find something when you do that), those two could fly a little less under the radar.
I don't know how much abuse I can keep watching if forced to believe those two would stay under fire just to make parents happy, parents who I'm not sure deserve the consideration. (I'll give it to Artie he didn't take Erick serious.)

After seeing his "right-hand man" Erick try to throw Regina under the bus when she doesn't even work for the company, I hope Arturo looks at his son's business moves with fresh eyes. Even before Erick's betrayal, there was plenty to see he wasn't worth diddly as an employee much less future owner.

AuntyAnn--Thank you for the recap. I'll take your bullet points anytime. They read like a full recap. The only things you left out were what Nina, Dani, Connie, LaRata and Marianita (and hers was so office-inappropriate) were wearing. The clothing is fun to note, but don't move the story along. Hope you are rested now and ready to get back into the fray.
It was such typical tn trope for the parental units not allow David and Regina explain how the skid-plop-non-kiss went down. OTOH, neither of the young folks are very good liars, so even though they were telling the truth, they both looked guilty as hell for what *had* been a romantic weekend in Queretaro.
Still, it didn't look to me as though they publicly disliked each other very much or were uncomfortable with each other in their subsequent meetings--so those glowing embers of attraction are still smoldering just beneath the surface. They know it, too. Otherwise, why would Regina still be giving David longing looks and he returning them in kind. And, why would she agree to meet at Francisco's place? That's just asking for trouble in the future.
Is Arturo going to spend the next 15 episodes looking for his in-house traitor? I can't see Erick being unmasked very soon.

They should make an appointment in such a way that he knows about it ahead of time. It's all a ruse to make him think they are serious about counseling. The two brats were probably planning on going shopping anyway.

This is great! I know at the end of the TN, some people will be redeemed and then I am supposed to like them, but most of the characters started out so vile that I don't know how I can forgive them.

I'm trying to like Miguel but I just can't get to his being all up in Connie's business. JeezoPete! I hope they find something else for him to do in this thing! Creepy dude. Go out and get your own woman! Heck, go out of the house at all and stop sniffing around your sister in law's bedroom! I guess though without him there she could even die, witness the bleeding incident which my DVR cut off. He's still annoying.

About ready to start watching Alborada again where Fernando looks absolutely delicious and is a super-hero. I need me some telenovela antibiotic! to recover from the slurry of sub-humans.

It is not like Daniela stood idly by while Regina got chewed out for the media story.. She actively participated in the gang up, being vocal about how horrible Regina was and was egging the others on all the while smiling from ear to ear. One mention from Regina that Daniela slept with David and was actively pursuing him and the focus would have switched to her. I know Regina is the good girl but still...save yourself, girl!
