Pasión y Poder #28 Monday 20151214 Challenge Accepted and Maybe Completed. Francisco Might Owe Dave Some Money!

GOMEZ LUNA

Casa de Gomez

Luna Foyer

Julia has just told her father to shut the fudge up!  She falls to her knees and begs him to help her and believe her.  She is not now boinking Artie, nor did she boink him a few days before her wedding day.  Humberto's not buyin' it.  He has no reason to believe that Julia is not a two-timing tramp.  She's bought all these problems on herself.  Eladio is a great man; he's been like a son to Humberto.  He feeds Humberto and makes sure that his Depends are changed frequently by the nurse.  Julia tells her dad that she wants Art to take a David'sNotArt's kid test, that's all.  Living with Eladio for all these years has been a big b*tch because he doesn't believe that David is his.  Humberto tells Julia that information will be very embarrassing for Eladio if it every gets out.  Eladio right and Julia is wrong. The end.  Julia must obey her husband.  They are interrupted by Gaby, who could pass as the adult version of the Wednesday Adams character if need be.  Humberto immediately notices Gaby's lack of clothing and loses his laser focus on Julia.  He can't believe that Julia can't afford to buy his grandchild modest clothing that will cover her a$$.  In his opinion, Gaby is rebellious, like Julia.  Gaby's dressed like a tramp.  He can't look at her, so he's going to bed.

Julia's Bedroom

Julia asks Gaby to find Art and tell him not to take the David'sNotArt's kid test.  The maid pushes Humberto in.  He wants to know what they're talking about and who was Gaby about to call.  Julia tells him that they were discussing foundation business and Gaby was helping out.  Gaby gets up to leave, but Humberto tells her to make the calls in front of him.  Gaby calls Gabriela.

GLA

Eladio's Office

Franco can't believe that Eladio caved to the board's demands.  Again, Eladio finds a way to blame Art.  He says that he will get revenge on Art by going after what he cares about most...his son.  And It will be easy because Art's son only cares about cash.  They are interrupted by a KNOCK on the door.  Aparently, Eladio don't put up with that "not knockin'" crap in his company.  With his permission, Marintia, the secretary with benefits, enters the room and gives him some papers.  She says that she couldn't give them to Francisco because he is out of the office today.  Matter of fact, he'll be out for two days.  Eladio tells Marintia, the secretary with benefits, to get Francisco in there.  If Eladio is there working today, Francisco should be there too.  After the two leave, Eladio calls Simona. He wants to know if Julia left the house today.  He reminds Simona that he has taken care of her all of these years.  If she lies to him about Julia, he will put her out.

MONTENEGO

Casa de Montenegro

Erick tells Nina that Art has been a big fat doodie head ever since he found out that Erick sold the proposal to his arch enemy and cost the company $700,000,000 pesos.  Geez, what's the big deal?  It's not like he betrayed him or anything.  He complains about Art sending him to out of town.   Consuelo walks in and demands that Erick take him with her so that they can work on their marriage.  Erick says no way.  Nina jumps in and tells Consuelo that she shouldn't go.  Erick tells his mom that he needs to speak with Connie alone.  Once Nina's gone, Erick tells Nina that he doesn't want her near him.

Master Bedroom

Nina's feeling unappreciated.  Art told her to "stay out of it" and Erick told her that her wanted to speak to his wife alone.  No one knows how she suffers for her family.  She points out how she's been defending Dani.  She can't do it much longer or else it will effect her relationship with Art.  Dani tells her mother not to worry about her.  Dani loves her mother very much.

Water Fountain

Poor Miguel.  He was trying to follow the rules.  Miguel walks out of the house and tries to avoid contact with Connie, but she calls him over to her because it's time to yank his chain again.    Lucky for him, she pulls him aside in order to discuss her problems with Erick.  Art's sending Erick on a business trip and Erick won't let her go with him.  He's still mad about the brothel thing.  Miguel calls Erick a imbecile.  Connie tells Erick not to insult her man.  She and Miguel will contact the orphanage in order to find out who squealed on her and what exactly they told Erick.  She needs proof of what happened at the orphanage.  Before leaving, she thanks him and gives him a kiss on the cheek.  When she turns away, he touches his cheek and smiles.  Well, there goes his promise not to stalk her any more.

Montenegro Corporate Offices

Erick is texting and making calls.  Erick says that he's got a lot of business to wrap up now that he's leaving.  Art's no fool.  He tells Erick that he'd better not be texting or planning to see that tramp.  Erick assures his father that is not the case.

Rev. Augustin enters and says the union is threatening to strike.  Art says that it's Erick's opportunity to make amends.  Pack his bags, there's a plane waiting at the airport for him.  He's leaving today.  Erick protests, but Art's not having it.

Erick leaves the corporate offices and leaves a voice mail for Montseratt.  He tells her that he may not be able to hit it and quit it today.  Once he hangs up, Consuelo calls and says that she's been informed that he's at the airport.  She can't believe that he left without saying goodbye.  Erick reminds Connie that he hates her guts and doesn't want her around.  She's lucky that he hasn't told his family that she was a "Pretty Baby" raised in a brothel.  As soon as his father trusts him again, he's going to bust her out and his father will toss her and her spawn out of the house.

Back in the CEO office, Rev. Augie asks Art if he's going to take the test.  Art says yes.  He'll do anything for Julia.  Gaby arrives.  Rev. Augustin seems to be having some very sinful thoughts about Gaby. Rev excuses himself and she tells Art that Julia says don't take the test and lose her number. Art asks why.  Gaby clams up.

Casa de Montenegro

Later Connie finds Miguel in the home office.  She tells him that she's going to Maribel's funeral.  Miguel offers to go with her on their first official date (a funeral can be a date in a stalker's mind), but he remembers that they are no longer supposed to be friends.  He tells her that he's made an appointment with the orphanage tomorrow.  She thanks him for  helping her investigate the Pretty Baby scandal.  He asks if he can go with her tomorrow.  Yes, she says he can accompany her to the orphanage.  In his mind, it's a first date because...again because he's a stalker.  Yeah, he should be back to stealing her panties shortly.

Q,Q

Restaurant

Regina and Dave are at a restaurant ignoring the food and devouring one another.  She leaves her chair and hops on his lap.  She loves being far away from Mexico.  She tells him to come to her room tonight because she has a surprise for him.

THE RATT HOLE

Eladio has arrived unannounced and lets himself in with his key.  Suddenly, he's in the mood for some Ratt tail.  He yanks up her dress and shoves his tongue down her throat. Once Eladio finishes, he shoves her away because she touched his tattoo and now he refuses to cuddleOh, hell no!  Every man knows that women like to cuddle after sex!  He doesn't want her touchin' his stupid tattoo because it's sacred.  He orders her to get him a drink.

Personally, I'd cut Little Eladio off!  I'd don't care if he is paying my effin rent.  Now, go home and explain to your wife why Cynderella cut your pecker off, jerk!  PSA to all men:  if Cynderella gives you some, you'd better be prepared to cuddle afterwards! I'm talking about 10 minutes after a quickie...about a good half-hour...especially if I put you to sleep!

Jerkladio gets a phone call and he ANSWERS IT!  It's like she's not even there!  Its Artie, AKA the worst person in the world for Julia to have asked a favor of.  Is he trying to get Julia's a$$ beat by Eladio? Cuz he doing a great job of it.  Anyways, Montseratt leaves the room and Jerladio tells her to shut the door.  Jerkladio thinks that Art is calling to discuss Erick.  He leaps from the bed when Art says that he wants to discuss Julia.  Art wants to meet and discuss exactly how Eladio will eventually kill Julia and how he (Art) can be of assistance.  Eladio says anytime anyplace.

While Eladio is speaking to Art, Monseratt checks her voice mail.  She responds to Erick via text and tells him not to come over.  She's gettin' busy.  Eladio comes out of the room and tells the Ratt that he's leaving because he's got important stuff to do and better people to see.

Eladio calls David and tells that he really needs him to go the Huatulco site.  Dave says that he'll be there in four days when the shipment arrives.  Eladio says that he needs him to leave in the morning and supervise the project.  Dave agrees.  After they end the call Montseratt wants to know what's up.  Does business really suck in Huatulco?  Eladio tells her to mind her own business.  He'll be back again next week to soil himself with her.

Later, after Eladio's gone, Aldo stops by.  Aldo is surprised to learn that Erick didn't come over today.  Aldo doubts that Erick will leave his wife.  Rich people are weird, he says.  The Ratt tells Aldo that she told Erick not to come over today.  Eladio and Erick both have tempers and who knows if Erick would've ran his mouth and got his a$$ kicked by gramps again.  The Ratt is certain that Erick will abandon his wife and unborn child for her.  He is crazy about the Ratt.  She's certain that something must be wrong.

The WTF Family

Casa de Maribel, Justino y Lucita

OMGosh!  What was my sin?  Is Maribel haunting me?  She's dead and I am still writing about her!  Justino arrives home carrying Lucita in his arms.  He is followed in by Clara and Franciso.  Francisco excuses himself to go to the church.  Someone will deliver the body.  Clara sends Lucita out of the house to wait for the hearse truck.  Gisela runs in.  She's all pissed because no one told her that Maribel was terminal.  Justino says that he didn't know either.   Justino goes off on Clara for not telling him that he wife was dying.  Clara says that Maribel wanted it kept secret.  Also, she was examined by Francisco's father and he also said she was a dead woman walking.  There was nothing anyone could do.  He kicks both women out of the house and slams the door behind them.  Justino picks ups a photo of Maribel and Lucita and jerks and sobs, while displaying all 32 of his bleached white veneers.

Casa de Gisela y Gisela

Gisela and Gisela go back to their home.  Lucita comes in and tells Clara that her dad won't stop crying.  Lucita wants to know when her mom's coming back.  Justupido didn't tell his daughter that her mother kicked the little blue sand bucket on the beach....really?  He lets her learn this from someone else? The man who just b*tched Clara out about keeping a secret? Gisela bluntly tells the child that her mother died and she's not coming back.  Lucita says that her mom's not dead, she's a twinkle twinkle little star in the sky.  Clara picks the little girl up and comforts her.

Funeral de Maribel

Justupido is displaying all 32 of his teeth again as he cries over the casket.  He only pauses to greet mourners who have come to offer their condolences.  Clara shows up and he tells her to hit the bricks.  How dare her not tell him what he should have noticed.  Luckily for Clara, she is saved from an embarrassing situation by Lucita who runs over and jumps into her arms.  Connie comes in followed by Francisco.  While Justupido sobs over his wife's coffin, Connie tears Clara away from little Lucita, who has just witnessed her mother's death and has been watching her broken father cry over the casket.  Clara introduces Francisco to Connie.  Francisco recognizes her.  Clara explains that Connie is a ex super-tiny model.  Erick asks if she's retired, Clara tells him that now is not the time to discuss Connie's career as an ex super-tiny model.  Instead, Connie and Clara talk about Connie's marital problems.  Makes sense that Connie would need comforting over her cheatin' husband at this time....especially while a little girl cries alone over her dead mother.  Finally, Francisco goes over and comforts Justupido and no one pays attention to poor little Lucita.  Seriously, that is exactly how it happened.

Gomez Luna II

GLA

Gisela and Franco meet in his little glass office.  She wants to go someplace else but he explains that Eladio is out of the office for the rest of the day.  He wants to know why his godfather gives her money.  She tells him that she's broke and holds out her hand for some cash.  He wants a name and gives her some cash directly out of his wallet.  She tells him that she has a dear friend that used to work for Eladio.  The friend was loyal to Eladio, but friend is know longer with them.  Franco asks if the friend is dead.  Gisela answers "sort of".  Gisela lets it slip that the friend is a female.  Franco wants more information.  Gisela runs out when Francisco comes in.  Franco is surprised to learn that Francisco knows Gisela.  Francisco explains that Gisela lives with the chick from administration.

QQ

Dave has been sightseeing with Gina.  Dave tells Gina that he's going to Huatulco.  Gina will take over the project in QQ.  They continue walking down the road.

Later, Dave arrives at Gina's room.  He's ordered dinner and had the room filled with roses and candle light.  He comes in with some champagne. He wants them to say goodbye properly. She gives him a watch; he loves it.  Like father, like son, he yanks up her dress and shoves his tongue down her throat.  All I've got to say is that there'd better be some cuddling afterwards.  If he's like his father, I don't think so.  Challenge:  Boink one hot sister and get her equally hot sister to boink you too.  Challenge accepted and met.  I think Francisco owes Dave some money.

GOMEZ LUNA AND MONTENEGRO GOLF COURSE SUMMIT

Artie is patiently waiting on the golf course when Eladio pulls up on his tricked out golf-cart.  Ever loyal Callao stands by diligently watching and hoping for someone to whack, while Artie's scaredity-cat driver remains behind the wheel!  Anyways, Art's invited Eladio here because Art wants to discuss how he can piss Eladio off further and really provoke him into killing the woman that they both claim to love.  'Cuz that's totally what he's doing.

Art tells Eladio that he will do anything for Julia.  He explains that Julia asked him to take a  DNA test because Eladio is paranoid.  Art believes that Eladio is making Julia's life hell.  Eladio tells Art to stay away from his family.  They want for nothing and he will abuse them if he wants to.  Art tells Eladio that he will do anything for Julia.  Eladio had better treat Julia right or he will have to answer to Art.  Eladio tells Art that he will mess with his family if he doesn't leave his alone.

When Eladio leaves, Art smiles.  Julia should be dead by the morning.  Again, 'cuz that's what he just accomplished.

VILLAHERMOSA, TABASCO

Erick is met by Bernardo in a ransacked office.  Bernardo explains that the union members broke in did this.  Erick says that he will talk to the union and hop back on the plane.  Bababing Badaboom.  Bernardo says that it's not that easy.  This problem will take more than a day to handle.

GOMEZ LUNA Part III

Julia's Bedroom

Gaby arrives home and quickly tells Julia about her meeting with Artie.  They can talk quickly because gramps is taking a nap.  Julia wants to know what Art said.  Gaby wants to know why gramps won't help.  Julia says that Gramps has always been a jerk.  He was a jerk to her mother and sister as well.  Gaby's mom couldn't take it and bailed.  Julia wishes that she had the courage to bail because she' married a man just like her father.

Later Gaby runs back into her Julia's room and tells her that Eladio called and said that he met with Artie.  Now he's on his way home to beat her a$$. She doesn't know why they would have met.  They are "surprised" by Humberto who has loudly rolled up on hardwood floors in a motorized wheelchair.  Whatever!  He wants to know what their talking about.  Julia says none-ya!  Humberto accuses them of lying and without knowing what they are discussing.

When Julia is alone Eladio marches in.  He wants to know how many times Julia has seen Arturo Montenegro.

Gracias, Cynderella. I noticed you posted at 3AM. That's dedication!

I have only ever seen Luis Bayardo (Humberto) play good guys and priests before this; the first novela I saw him in was Preciosa, made in 1998. He's killing it in this nasty role.

Clara needs to get out of her current living arrangement. Gisela doesn't let anyone breathe (Is she related to Humberto?). And her reaction to Lucita was cruel. This child needs understanding and comfort and Gisela has no clue what either of these are.

Jacinto will get over his anger at Clara, who was not in a good position with this secret. If doctors aren't allowed to disclose this information how can he hold this against Clara? Is this actually an example of medical confidentiality?

The Grandfather From Hell vs Gabriela: Can it, mister. Your daughter and granddaughter are adults, not dog excrement under your wheelchair. What kind of miserable life have you had that you have to kill everyone else's?

More later. I need my morning jolt before tackling the rest of this.

Thanks, Cyn, for another fun romp. I especially enjoyed your takes on Justino (and yes, I think Maribel is haunting you) and Art purposely goading Eladio into murdering Julia. What the heck is he thinking?!

Also not smart to send dunderhead Erick to resolve a volatile union strike. He should have sent Augie to resolve it, with Erick as his assistant. But then, Augie would have missed another rare opportunity to flash his beautiful puppy eyes at Gabi.

Stay in Queretaro, David and Gina. Have fun, and have at it, kids!

Oh, and Francisco definitely had more than a passing interest in Consuelo. Looks like she'll get another suitor, this one NOT a Montenegro for a change. But that kind of leaves poor Clara, who's been crushing on him forever, out in the cold.

Hey, Cynderella!!! What a way to start my day. Now, I have a whole new telenovela running through my brain starring Eladio and Cynderella..cuddling and quickies. Have mercy. I would like to see what you would do with Erickrickrick. I would bet that you could straighten out all these dudes.Go, Girl.

Cynderella, you consistently make your recaps informational and sensational. Again, you dazzled and delighted. Wonderful.

"They are interrupted by Gaby, who could pass as the adult version of the Wednesday Adams character if need be: (oh, so right!), "Regina and Dave are at a restaurant ignoring the food and devouring one another " and "Ever loyal Callao stands by diligently watching and hoping for someone to whack, while Artie's scaredity-cat driver remains behind the wheel!" were among my favorites.

Daddy dearest is detestable. I agree UA, Humberto is doing an (all too) excellent job here.

I love Susana (she does the deer in the headlights look superbly), but I desperately want her character to do something other than cowering in the corner.

David and Gina were good together but I also smiled at him hiking up her dress just as Eladio does to the Rat. Shiver.

Whatever made Art send Erick to straighten things out? I mean the man can barely get dressed in the morning. Let's see. What are the odds of him messing this up (along with everything else)?

I also thought Francisco looked like the "lightening bolt" had hit him when he saw Consuelo. Thanks for saying you thought the same Vivi. I don't think Consuelo will stagnate from a lack of suitors certainly. I'm not worried about Clara though - she is (and must) end up with someone who deserves her (maybe Miguel?)

Also, Augustin looked hawt last night. His signals to Gaby could not have been clearer. I would have melted. Totally.

Simply great Cynderella.

Diana

Fab as always Cynderella

"Poor Miguel. He was trying to follow the rules"

"Pretty Baby"

"about a good half-hour...especially if I put you to sleep!"

I'm really struggling with SG and her Julia character. Why waste her talent? Even I can do a passable fetal position.

Art is creepily obsessed and I see for damn sure Miguel is his son.

Why isn't Justupido mad at Francisco too?

Now come on. Not for a minute do I believe Ratt hasn't brushed up against that ink.

I was thinking about the possibility of Miguel and Clara the other day. Of course Francisco and Clara are employed by GLA while Miguel and Consuelo are Montenegros, so this adds more dynamite to the eventual explosion.

If Eladio is soooooo worried about the DNA test becoming public he can easily buy silence. He's willing to spend insane money on other things (thinking about the watch in the premiere), but that is total BS. The situation with the WTF family is probably meant to illustrate the extreme of medical confidentiality. We all know that both Humberto and Eladio will use any excuse to abuse Julia. Arturo doesn't have to be that excuse. There are only two things that could make Julia's situation any worse:

1. Surveillance cameras in every room of the mansion (I'm surprised Eladio hasn't already thought of that one)
2. Physical violence (I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet).

As to his tattoo, I think it's stenciled on. The positioning looked a little off vs what I think I saw in the early episodes. But what is so "sacred" about it?

The meeting between Franco and Gisela was interesting and a prediction that this will be the first secret to come out. Who else is betting that Caridad will recognize him and give Gisela the hell she deserves for handing him over to Eladio.

I was wondering why Gisela always wears her head rag when visiting GLA, but I just decided that this is her way of showing contempt for Eladio and his "empire."

Thanks for yet another of your marvelously hilarious naughtyish recaps. You always manage to crack me up with your wicked dead-on skewering of these strange, often bizarre people.

Arturo has pretty well wandered into near-insanity. As you observed, he seems almost on a mission to goad the already certifiable Eladio into murdering Julia.

If Julia is so dead certain that Eladio is David's father, then I don't understand why it even occurred to her to involve Arturo in the paternity testing. Test David, test Eladio, compare results... Next!

If Nina is the designated bad girl, can we at least find her a suitable illicit suitor?

Coni really should put the brakes on those enticing glances she keeps tossing in Miguel's direction. Stalkers generally don't need encouragement.

Though I think it's too soon, it was refreshing to see that David at least sets a proper stage with candles, roses, good food (though I didn't see any chocolate-dipped strawberries),and Champagne. It's probably best that he left out covering the bed in rose petals, but the butt grab was executed a bit prematurely.

Carlos

Muchísimas gracias Cynderella for this recap. It was clever, comprehensive and dripping with snark! You provoked many roaring laughs, the kind that makes people stare and wonder if one has lost one’s marbles!

I’m not sure whether someone spiked my té de tila yesterday or whether this episode was asking for it, but I found myself sniggering at most of the scenes. Here are some random thoughts and observations:

-- Julia’s distress and her pleas to her father broke my heart. That was some masterful acting by both Susana González and Luis Bayardo! Chapeau!

-- Miguel and Consuelo’s conversation by the fountain was, for me, a moment of unintentional hilarity. I couldn’t help but imagine him punctuating every sentence about Erick with this mental note: “Me! Me! Me! Pick me! Love me! Marry me! Have me babies, me heartie!”. Then, I totally lost it when he started leering at his sister-in-law as she walked back into the house, most likely thinking to himself: “bow chicka wow wow!”

-- “Qué haces cuchicheando con tu tía?” (“What are you doing talking in hushed tones with your aunt?”)... Dastardly Daddy On Wheels is proving to be an excellent warden indeed. And he only cost Eladio a bottle of Cognac, some cigars and the salary of “Igor the Male Nurse” (this great nickname is Mauricio’s creation).

-- At Gómez Luna y Asociados, if you take time off work, you’d better be dying! Poor Francisco caught flak for taking 2 days off for the death of a friend... Well, a friend of a friend... Well, a friend of a workplace acquaintance that may or may not become his future love interest.

-- Eladio is back on RatHo’s roster of regulars? Say it isn’t so! I’m really surprised he would let her touch him again now that he knows she’s all covered in chimp cooties... Ewww! Not even with a 10-foot pole!

(To be continued)

What.?..that skirt grab made me think that David does share DNA with DTMT (Don't touch my tattoo) Eladio. Yikes.I must admit that leaving all those candles unattended made me nervous.

These people are beyond comprehension. Next, indeed. They all need to spend a day with no-nonsense Cynderella.

(Cont.)
-- Justino lashing out at Clara for not telling him of Maribel’s illness was WTF Family’s biggest WTF moment to date. Sorry buddy, Clara was all out of crayons! Your wife spent every waking hour bawling her eyes out and complaining of debilitating migraines and you never noticed something was amiss? Heck, even the neighborhood drunk suspected there was something seriously wrong with Maribel’s health! Och well, time to put the fast-forward button to good use. FF>>

-- Nobody is allowed to touch Eladio’s tattoo because “it is something sacred”. (Really? Pray elaborate on that statement)... He puts his hand over his heart and sighs. (OK, that doesn’t help me).

-- RatHo has rat droppings for brains. She continues to casually juggle two violent and volatile lovers when she should’ve gotten as far away as possible from both... Dumbass “golfa” (hoe) walking around with a bullseye target on her back...

-- Franco wonders why Eladio is giving money to Gisela because he knows full well that his Padrino is the farthest thing from a charitable man. For the exact same reason, shouldn’t Franco wonder why Eladio took him in as a toddler and raised him in his house?

-- Another déjà vu confrontation scene between the two 50-year old teenage boys. Same dialogue, same posturing, same threats but this time, they didn’t do their punching choreography. It was odd though to see Eladio’s shocked face when Arturo told him about the DNA test. Didn’t he find out from Julia, in the previous episode, that she had asked Arturo for a DNA test? Are the director and editor having a ciggie break out back again?

-- Looks like Gabi’s Mami is alive and kicking, most likely somewhere in Aguascalientes. Entonces... How did this Vallardo sister dodge Humberto duty? Inquiring minds want to know.

-- To the oblivious lovebirds in Querétaro: Hold the consummation, there is a DNA test in progress!

Carlos, there is no way for Julia to win the DNA thing. Eladio has refused for 20 years to be tested. It would have previously been easy to swipe a used drinking glass or fork or something, but he would have chain-of-evidence reasons to not believe the results. If the test with Arturo had happened he would accuse either or both of them of paying for falsified reports. The only chance Julia would have would be the police chain-of-evidence scenario I have previously described, but Eladio can invent any excuse to abuse her. David is the most effective one, but not the only one.

My gut is telling me that Eladio knows that David is his but uses this to abuse Julia anyway. That is what abusers are all about.

-- A quote from the capítulo --

“Daniela, lo que deberías hacer es ayudarme con tu papá y ahorrarme problemas para que no se enoje conmigo; porque si sigue así voy a terminar perdiéndolo.”
(Nina asking her Mini-Me for help to soften Arturo’s ire: “Daniela, what you should do is help me with your Dad and spare me more problems so he won’t get mad at me; because if he stays this way, I am gonna wind up losing him.”)

Ahorrarse (problemas, molestias) = to spare oneself (problems, troubles). “Ahorrar” means to save up, to economize.

Enojarse con alguien = to be angry at someone. “Enojar (a alguien)” means to anger, to annoy, to irritate (someone).

Seguir = to follow, but in this context it means: to continue.

UA,

I understand and basically agree with all the points you make and in general don't think that the DNA testing is a good idea. However, since she is hellbent on doing it, why not do it with surreptitiously obtained samples as as I've suggested then present him the results? At that point the ball is in his court and if he wishes to refute the results he will need to get his own independent testing. My point is, why should she put herself at further risk by even involving Arturo since allegedly, he doesn't have a sperm in this fight?

Carlos

Thanks, Cynderella. My favorite: Ever loyal Callao stands by diligently watching and hoping for someone to whack, while Artie's scaredity-cat driver remains behind the wheel!

David's premature thigh/butt grab of Regina reminded me not only of Eladio, but Franco too. Gaby is forever having to pull her skirt down because Franco grabs her stuff in the living room where anybody could see them.

In his crazy controlling way, Eladio loves Julia. There one consensual time in 20 years, he was moved when she gently kissed his tattooed shoulder and he asked her to tell him what would please her. But with Montseratt, it's wham, bam, I'm outa here. Urban, I agree that tattoo moved from earlier, it seemed more to the left this time.

So Julia's sister ran off without her daughter? Hope she turns up soon.

Confession time: I found Erick very fetching in his white linen. He rocked that island look.

Perhaps the Gomez Luna men are butt men? Eladio should have married Nina then.

"He doesn't have a sperm in this fight".. Oh no you din't, Carlos.

Vivi...It is the era of the big butt...Kim K., et Al. Nini is riding that wave. I think I will go to YouTube and listen to Queen's " Fat Bottomed Girls" in honor of ...nothing.

Just got to the recap. Before reading what I know will be a hilarious romp, here is a message for La Paloma:

You said in the last post, "Arturo (JS) is definitely a flawed character. I haven't seen much evidence of his sweet puppy dog eyes in this TN, but I could have missed that by missing episodes." Sadly, you didn't miss a thing. He's been mostly wide-eyed and a bit haggard-looking (from all that CEO work). I miss his dimples.

Thanks Cynderella. I needed this recap and it was splendid.

So, I actually forgot the show was on as I was wrapping some Christmas gifts. So I turned it on and I see that sweet girl sitting on the bench crying her eyes out while dad is doing whatever. Not one of those old bitties sitting on the side could sit with that child? Made me so mad, I went back to the table to wrap more gifts.

Go back again and the two lunkhead leads are on the golf course in suits arguing. After I cleaned up my exploded beanie from the walls and got it back together, I just couldn't. So ever so grateful for the details.

Honestly, if we get Eladio to hurt or set up/have jailed his own son through some perverted belief he's really Artie's and we have David and Gina separated, not sure how much of this I can take. As someone said the other day, everything else is the same rehash and plot. Seems all they do is change up with different places and different outfits.

And I don't know who the director of this is...but it's getting tiring. Same blocking and mannerisms in make out scenes, some blocking in arguments ( just location is different). Must be learning their craft by 101 Ways to Direct a Telenova for Dummies.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

I don't like ANY OF THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! Who leaves a little girl sobbing on a couch so that you can't discuss marital problems with a moron!

I don't think Francisco likes Gina. I think that he recognized her. I'll be back later. I've got to make money. My dad's not a CEO.

Cynderella, I think that the only way I will be able to continue to watch this hot mess is to picture you in every scene going BSC on these people. No sense. No prepositions. Even mi first telenovio is not doing it for me. Jorge looks just as tired of this stuff as I am. #sorrynotsorry

Now, I have to identify bread to prove that I am not a robot.

I fell asleep during the thing after seeing moon faced Miguel and his Xray vision glasses checking his sister inlaws ass and I never slept more than 5 out of 24 hours my whole life. Time well spent.

Lots of great observations in this one.

"Humberto immediately notices Gaby's lack of clothing and loses his laser focus on Julia." Good Lord yes! as NovelaMaven would say, that bit of cloth barely covered the good china. No wonder...

"Rev Augustin seems to be having some very sinful thoughts about Gaby."

Now are we supposed to think those two will end up together? She can't be with Franco, but Auggie is surely too old.

"...while displaying all 32 of his bleached white veneers". Ye gods, the man looks absolutely feral when he cries, talks, or does any damn thing. Those teeth all look brand-new and too big for his mouth. As for poor little Lucita, it does look like she's on her own poor thing.

Of course the best part of the whole recap is Cynderella's Bedroom Advice for all Males Everywhere. Cuddling afterward is a requirement, not an option! Hear hear. You've been warned.

Always a treat. And yeah, your papi is no CEO so get back to work, girl. But thanks for a great recap. Hope your 3 am posting time was actually midnight on the West Coast.

Just finished the recap. Cynderella--You did an insane, jumbled episode justice--insanity, straight off the cuff brilliance. Off with his (little) head indeed. I'm scared of you and I'm a woman!

Loved the Golf Course summit and your retelling. How idiotic is that? They still could have punched each other out or shot each other with little interference. No one would have noticed except Callao and Artie's driver. Callao would have "taken care" of the driver easily.

This is my own idiotic speculation. Once Franco, grinning his own 32s, learns he has a jailbird mother and a crazy abuela, he's going to hatch the plot to use poor Justino to sub for him--for a price. Perfect set up.

Susanlynn--Bread? How exactly does one identify bread? Do they give you hints if it's 100% whole wheat, 12-grain or sprouted wheat berry? You must have been successful because you are here, whew. OT--I checked out Richard Rankin. Sweet.

Ok, now to the comments from the beginning. (BTW, it's Connie, not Gina, that Francisco recognized, but we knew what you meant).

UA--Luis Bayardo still manages to make a tyrannical paterfamilias look sweet and harmless to everyone else, no? He's just a darling old man fond of Cuban cigars and booze and probably pinches fannies.

What Gaby had on last night was way longer than what she had on last week (barely there blue dress).

I wonder sometimes about Fabiola G. and if it's in her contract to wear skimpy, slutty clothing. Every role I've seen her in, she's wearing little tiny clothing articles.

It's a wonder Eladio has never told her to cover up.

If Amanda isn't dead, I expect her to show up at some point.

I can't call Miguel a stalker because Connie is encouraging it. Maybe Clara will be for him since Francisco was fixated on Connie.

Daisynjay, that ran through y head, too. None of those old biddies even bothered to try to comfort that poor child. Are they all afraid Gisela will put curses on them if they did?

I have nothing new to say about the Rat; she is a total idiot.

What Arturo did was to give Erick one last chance to redeem himself professionally. Although we don't know exactly how long he's been working at HQ it is probably long enough to know better. I'm guessing he's about the same age as Franco who knows his stuff so what's his excuse? I hope Arturo or Augustin sends someone to check up on the Chimp and report back regularly.

I think Fabiola G will be typecast as the chick who always goes for older men. And that center-parted hair has to go. In the gala scene two weeks ago her hair was perfect (totally off her face and falling down her back).

I bet Fabiola will HAPPILY do love scenes with Marco M/Agustin after having to suck face with Alejandro C. (Claudio) in Yo No Creo. Heck, I can't wait for them to finally light that spark. He might be older, but he's hot.

Vivi, right there with you on His Royal Hotness. Augustin needs some pay off, loving, understanding in this thing for all the crap he puts up with actually running the company while the owner is mooning over his lost love and the eldest son is a worthless playboy, and not even a smart one.

I wasn't into Augustin until I researched the actor on line. Oh my!

Tofie: Now come on. Not for a minute do I believe Ratt hasn't brushed up against that ink.

You and I think alike, but she may not have brushed up against that ink. I would definitely depend on his favorite position. Just sayin! Bad Cynderella!

A few episodes ago I was doubting that Eladio even took his shirt off much when with the Rat. That's a wham, bam, and exit without a thank-you situation.

Okay Tofie, I want your metabolism You only need 5 hours sleep!!!!...you could be CEO of the Universe by now.

I did know a fellow once who only needed 5 hours of sleep, and it was great because he did a lot of volunteer work with abused children when he wasn't at his regular job. His wife, alas, had a chronic illness and needed 12 hours sleep a night. But they made it work.

UA, I think that's why she prefers Erick.

Cyn- Can't believe it took you so long to discover Marco Mendez...and all those online modeling pics of his.

What is the real name of Julia's body guard. I can't find him listed as a cast member. He was also on Hasta el fin del Mundo. I would like to "research" his photo's as well.

I know four women who are married to guys who are ten years older than they are . Only one of those marriages failed. I also had friends married to younger guys. One was five years younger , and the other was ten years younger. That second one did not last. The telenovelas often show couples in which the guys are many years older than the women ,but have we ever seen older womnen paired with younger men?

Judyb..Richard Rankin is a supporting actor. Have you googled the leading man Sam Heughan? Verra fine. His character is a twenty four year old virgin Highland warrior who marries a time traveler who is four years older. ...but was born 200 years later. That marriage worked out verra well.

Cynderella...I had no idea that you were so dedicated to research. #impressed

Susanlynn- "but have we ever seen older women paired with younger men?"

Just off the top of my head:
Sortilegio- Daniela R. and Gabriel Soto
La Malquerida- Sabine M. and Joshua G. (Memo)
Un Refugio Para el Amor- Luz Maria J. (Tia Connie) and Harry G. (Oscar)

Vivi...A few . Those slipped my mind. I knew that I could count on that amazing memory of yours .

Cynderella---Your recaps are always great. With so many super lines, it's hard to pick out a favorite, but a funeral can be a date in a stalkers mind keeps coming back to me.

So Gaby doesn't cover up enough seems to be the consensus not only of Humberto but also from several patio members. (It's quite cold now--mid December. Is there heat or a covered patio? Doesn't seem much like patio weather to me.) Yesterday I had a letter to mail and decided that a walk to the post office would be a good thing. On the way I passed a boutique that had some nice fashionable ensembles on display. Great designs, I liked everyone of them. But---all were shorter than Gaby's outfits.
If you're young and beautiful, well----

Weekend comments about the "wonderful" "loving" "25 year good/loyal/caring" wife Nina. Art had no problems with her until Julia re-entered his mind. Ok, I can get that. Nina favors "dumb ass Erick" because he is the first son. Even when he sells out the family, it's Ok. She doesn't like Miguel because---well, he's a stepson. She just loves and adores Daniela her "lazy good for nothing socially trashy" daughter. She absolutely loathes Regina her hard working, I want to make something out of my life daughter. Good going wonderful mother Nina. Rave cheers from the patio. Consuelo? Well she doesn't even have a prayer.

How well will #1 son take care of the new problem of unrest on the project?

must see tv
the gringo

Nina.

Why has Marco Méndez (Agustín) never gotten his own "protagónico" in all these years of busting his chiseled chops for Televisa? How can it be that José Ron and Daniel what's-his-name are considered better galanes than this hunk of burning love? ¿En qué cabeza cabe?

Heads up: Tonight's may be a little late. I got a late start because of an unexpected phone call.

OT: Who has Windows 10? Mine will install tomorrow and I'm afraid of losing files.

Super fine recap, Cynderella! It's stuff like this that tempts me to continue watching, despite my disgust with most of these characters.

Anita, thanks for confirming that the sweet eyes (and dimples) are in abeyance here. I miss them.

Eladio's wandering tattoo?? Remember Teo the hunchback security guard in CI? His hump had a tendency to meander across his back. Sounds like the tattoo is a similar error in continuity. Interesting to hear that El holds something sacred--you wouldn't know that from his general demeanor and conduct.

If Julia wakes up from her coma and does not remember what happened, I am D O N E.
