Pasión y Poder #28 Monday 20151214 Challenge Accepted and Maybe Completed. Francisco Might Owe Dave Some Money!
Master Bedroom
Personally, I'd cut Little Eladio off! I'd don't care if he is paying my effin rent. Now, go home and explain to your wife why Cynderella cut your pecker off, jerk! PSA to all men: if Cynderella gives you some, you'd better be prepared to cuddle afterwards! I'm talking about 10 minutes after a quickie...about a good half-hour...especially if I put you to sleep!
Gomez Luna II
Art tells Eladio that he will do anything for Julia. He explains that Julia asked him to take a DNA test because Eladio is paranoid. Art believes that Eladio is making Julia's life hell. Eladio tells Art to stay away from his family. They want for nothing and he will abuse them if he wants to. Art tells Eladio that he will do anything for Julia. Eladio had better treat Julia right or he will have to answer to Art. Eladio tells Art that he will mess with his family if he doesn't leave his alone.

I have only ever seen Luis Bayardo (Humberto) play good guys and priests before this; the first novela I saw him in was Preciosa, made in 1998. He's killing it in this nasty role.
Clara needs to get out of her current living arrangement. Gisela doesn't let anyone breathe (Is she related to Humberto?). And her reaction to Lucita was cruel. This child needs understanding and comfort and Gisela has no clue what either of these are.
Jacinto will get over his anger at Clara, who was not in a good position with this secret. If doctors aren't allowed to disclose this information how can he hold this against Clara? Is this actually an example of medical confidentiality?
The Grandfather From Hell vs Gabriela: Can it, mister. Your daughter and granddaughter are adults, not dog excrement under your wheelchair. What kind of miserable life have you had that you have to kill everyone else's?
More later. I need my morning jolt before tackling the rest of this.
Also not smart to send dunderhead Erick to resolve a volatile union strike. He should have sent Augie to resolve it, with Erick as his assistant. But then, Augie would have missed another rare opportunity to flash his beautiful puppy eyes at Gabi.
Stay in Queretaro, David and Gina. Have fun, and have at it, kids!
"They are interrupted by Gaby, who could pass as the adult version of the Wednesday Adams character if need be: (oh, so right!), "Regina and Dave are at a restaurant ignoring the food and devouring one another " and "Ever loyal Callao stands by diligently watching and hoping for someone to whack, while Artie's scaredity-cat driver remains behind the wheel!" were among my favorites.
Daddy dearest is detestable. I agree UA, Humberto is doing an (all too) excellent job here.
I love Susana (she does the deer in the headlights look superbly), but I desperately want her character to do something other than cowering in the corner.
David and Gina were good together but I also smiled at him hiking up her dress just as Eladio does to the Rat. Shiver.
Whatever made Art send Erick to straighten things out? I mean the man can barely get dressed in the morning. Let's see. What are the odds of him messing this up (along with everything else)?
I also thought Francisco looked like the "lightening bolt" had hit him when he saw Consuelo. Thanks for saying you thought the same Vivi. I don't think Consuelo will stagnate from a lack of suitors certainly. I'm not worried about Clara though - she is (and must) end up with someone who deserves her (maybe Miguel?)
Also, Augustin looked hawt last night. His signals to Gaby could not have been clearer. I would have melted. Totally.
Simply great Cynderella.
Diana
"Poor Miguel. He was trying to follow the rules"
"Pretty Baby"
"about a good half-hour...especially if I put you to sleep!"
I'm really struggling with SG and her Julia character. Why waste her talent? Even I can do a passable fetal position.
Art is creepily obsessed and I see for damn sure Miguel is his son.
Why isn't Justupido mad at Francisco too?
Now come on. Not for a minute do I believe Ratt hasn't brushed up against that ink.
If Eladio is soooooo worried about the DNA test becoming public he can easily buy silence. He's willing to spend insane money on other things (thinking about the watch in the premiere), but that is total BS. The situation with the WTF family is probably meant to illustrate the extreme of medical confidentiality. We all know that both Humberto and Eladio will use any excuse to abuse Julia. Arturo doesn't have to be that excuse. There are only two things that could make Julia's situation any worse:
1. Surveillance cameras in every room of the mansion (I'm surprised Eladio hasn't already thought of that one)
2. Physical violence (I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet).
As to his tattoo, I think it's stenciled on. The positioning looked a little off vs what I think I saw in the early episodes. But what is so "sacred" about it?
The meeting between Franco and Gisela was interesting and a prediction that this will be the first secret to come out. Who else is betting that Caridad will recognize him and give Gisela the hell she deserves for handing him over to Eladio.
I was wondering why Gisela always wears her head rag when visiting GLA, but I just decided that this is her way of showing contempt for Eladio and his "empire."
Arturo has pretty well wandered into near-insanity. As you observed, he seems almost on a mission to goad the already certifiable Eladio into murdering Julia.
If Julia is so dead certain that Eladio is David's father, then I don't understand why it even occurred to her to involve Arturo in the paternity testing. Test David, test Eladio, compare results... Next!
If Nina is the designated bad girl, can we at least find her a suitable illicit suitor?
Coni really should put the brakes on those enticing glances she keeps tossing in Miguel's direction. Stalkers generally don't need encouragement.
Though I think it's too soon, it was refreshing to see that David at least sets a proper stage with candles, roses, good food (though I didn't see any chocolate-dipped strawberries),and Champagne. It's probably best that he left out covering the bed in rose petals, but the butt grab was executed a bit prematurely.

I’m not sure whether someone spiked my té de tila yesterday or whether this episode was asking for it, but I found myself sniggering at most of the scenes. Here are some random thoughts and observations:
-- Julia’s distress and her pleas to her father broke my heart. That was some masterful acting by both Susana González and Luis Bayardo! Chapeau!
-- Miguel and Consuelo’s conversation by the fountain was, for me, a moment of unintentional hilarity. I couldn’t help but imagine him punctuating every sentence about Erick with this mental note: “Me! Me! Me! Pick me! Love me! Marry me! Have me babies, me heartie!”. Then, I totally lost it when he started leering at his sister-in-law as she walked back into the house, most likely thinking to himself: “bow chicka wow wow!”
-- “Qué haces cuchicheando con tu tía?” (“What are you doing talking in hushed tones with your aunt?”)... Dastardly Daddy On Wheels is proving to be an excellent warden indeed. And he only cost Eladio a bottle of Cognac, some cigars and the salary of “Igor the Male Nurse” (this great nickname is Mauricio’s creation).
-- At Gómez Luna y Asociados, if you take time off work, you’d better be dying! Poor Francisco caught flak for taking 2 days off for the death of a friend... Well, a friend of a friend... Well, a friend of a workplace acquaintance that may or may not become his future love interest.
-- Eladio is back on RatHo’s roster of regulars? Say it isn’t so! I’m really surprised he would let her touch him again now that he knows she’s all covered in chimp cooties... Ewww! Not even with a 10-foot pole!
(To be continued)
These people are beyond comprehension. Next, indeed. They all need to spend a day with no-nonsense Cynderella.
-- Justino lashing out at Clara for not telling him of Maribel’s illness was WTF Family’s biggest WTF moment to date. Sorry buddy, Clara was all out of crayons! Your wife spent every waking hour bawling her eyes out and complaining of debilitating migraines and you never noticed something was amiss? Heck, even the neighborhood drunk suspected there was something seriously wrong with Maribel’s health! Och well, time to put the fast-forward button to good use. FF>>
-- Nobody is allowed to touch Eladio’s tattoo because “it is something sacred”. (Really? Pray elaborate on that statement)... He puts his hand over his heart and sighs. (OK, that doesn’t help me).
-- RatHo has rat droppings for brains. She continues to casually juggle two violent and volatile lovers when she should’ve gotten as far away as possible from both... Dumbass “golfa” (hoe) walking around with a bullseye target on her back...
-- Franco wonders why Eladio is giving money to Gisela because he knows full well that his Padrino is the farthest thing from a charitable man. For the exact same reason, shouldn’t Franco wonder why Eladio took him in as a toddler and raised him in his house?
-- Another déjà vu confrontation scene between the two 50-year old teenage boys. Same dialogue, same posturing, same threats but this time, they didn’t do their punching choreography. It was odd though to see Eladio’s shocked face when Arturo told him about the DNA test. Didn’t he find out from Julia, in the previous episode, that she had asked Arturo for a DNA test? Are the director and editor having a ciggie break out back again?
-- Looks like Gabi’s Mami is alive and kicking, most likely somewhere in Aguascalientes. Entonces... How did this Vallardo sister dodge Humberto duty? Inquiring minds want to know.
-- To the oblivious lovebirds in Querétaro: Hold the consummation, there is a DNA test in progress!
My gut is telling me that Eladio knows that David is his but uses this to abuse Julia anyway. That is what abusers are all about.
“Daniela, lo que deberías hacer es ayudarme con tu papá y ahorrarme problemas para que no se enoje conmigo; porque si sigue así voy a terminar perdiéndolo.”
(Nina asking her Mini-Me for help to soften Arturo’s ire: “Daniela, what you should do is help me with your Dad and spare me more problems so he won’t get mad at me; because if he stays this way, I am gonna wind up losing him.”)
Ahorrarse (problemas, molestias) = to spare oneself (problems, troubles). “Ahorrar” means to save up, to economize.
Enojarse con alguien = to be angry at someone. “Enojar (a alguien)” means to anger, to annoy, to irritate (someone).
Seguir = to follow, but in this context it means: to continue.
I understand and basically agree with all the points you make and in general don't think that the DNA testing is a good idea. However, since she is hellbent on doing it, why not do it with surreptitiously obtained samples as as I've suggested then present him the results? At that point the ball is in his court and if he wishes to refute the results he will need to get his own independent testing. My point is, why should she put herself at further risk by even involving Arturo since allegedly, he doesn't have a sperm in this fight?

David's premature thigh/butt grab of Regina reminded me not only of Eladio, but Franco too. Gaby is forever having to pull her skirt down because Franco grabs her stuff in the living room where anybody could see them.
In his crazy controlling way, Eladio loves Julia. There one consensual time in 20 years, he was moved when she gently kissed his tattooed shoulder and he asked her to tell him what would please her. But with Montseratt, it's wham, bam, I'm outa here. Urban, I agree that tattoo moved from earlier, it seemed more to the left this time.
So Julia's sister ran off without her daughter? Hope she turns up soon.
Confession time: I found Erick very fetching in his white linen. He rocked that island look.
Vivi...It is the era of the big butt...Kim K., et Al. Nini is riding that wave. I think I will go to YouTube and listen to Queen's " Fat Bottomed Girls" in honor of ...nothing.
You said in the last post, "Arturo (JS) is definitely a flawed character. I haven't seen much evidence of his sweet puppy dog eyes in this TN, but I could have missed that by missing episodes." Sadly, you didn't miss a thing. He's been mostly wide-eyed and a bit haggard-looking (from all that CEO work). I miss his dimples.
So, I actually forgot the show was on as I was wrapping some Christmas gifts. So I turned it on and I see that sweet girl sitting on the bench crying her eyes out while dad is doing whatever. Not one of those old bitties sitting on the side could sit with that child? Made me so mad, I went back to the table to wrap more gifts.
Go back again and the two lunkhead leads are on the golf course in suits arguing. After I cleaned up my exploded beanie from the walls and got it back together, I just couldn't. So ever so grateful for the details.
Honestly, if we get Eladio to hurt or set up/have jailed his own son through some perverted belief he's really Artie's and we have David and Gina separated, not sure how much of this I can take. As someone said the other day, everything else is the same rehash and plot. Seems all they do is change up with different places and different outfits.
And I don't know who the director of this is...but it's getting tiring. Same blocking and mannerisms in make out scenes, some blocking in arguments ( just location is different). Must be learning their craft by 101 Ways to Direct a Telenova for Dummies.

I don't like ANY OF THESE PEOPLE!!!!!! Who leaves a little girl sobbing on a couch so that you can't discuss marital problems with a moron!
I don't think Francisco likes Gina. I think that he recognized her. I'll be back later. I've got to make money. My dad's not a CEO.
Now, I have to identify bread to prove that I am not a robot.
"Humberto immediately notices Gaby's lack of clothing and loses his laser focus on Julia." Good Lord yes! as NovelaMaven would say, that bit of cloth barely covered the good china. No wonder...
"Rev Augustin seems to be having some very sinful thoughts about Gaby."
Now are we supposed to think those two will end up together? She can't be with Franco, but Auggie is surely too old.
"...while displaying all 32 of his bleached white veneers". Ye gods, the man looks absolutely feral when he cries, talks, or does any damn thing. Those teeth all look brand-new and too big for his mouth. As for poor little Lucita, it does look like she's on her own poor thing.
Of course the best part of the whole recap is Cynderella's Bedroom Advice for all Males Everywhere. Cuddling afterward is a requirement, not an option! Hear hear. You've been warned.
Always a treat. And yeah, your papi is no CEO so get back to work, girl. But thanks for a great recap. Hope your 3 am posting time was actually midnight on the West Coast.
Loved the Golf Course summit and your retelling. How idiotic is that? They still could have punched each other out or shot each other with little interference. No one would have noticed except Callao and Artie's driver. Callao would have "taken care" of the driver easily.
This is my own idiotic speculation. Once Franco, grinning his own 32s, learns he has a jailbird mother and a crazy abuela, he's going to hatch the plot to use poor Justino to sub for him--for a price. Perfect set up.
Susanlynn--Bread? How exactly does one identify bread? Do they give you hints if it's 100% whole wheat, 12-grain or sprouted wheat berry? You must have been successful because you are here, whew. OT--I checked out Richard Rankin. Sweet.
Ok, now to the comments from the beginning. (BTW, it's Connie, not Gina, that Francisco recognized, but we knew what you meant).
I wonder sometimes about Fabiola G. and if it's in her contract to wear skimpy, slutty clothing. Every role I've seen her in, she's wearing little tiny clothing articles.
It's a wonder Eladio has never told her to cover up.
If Amanda isn't dead, I expect her to show up at some point.
I can't call Miguel a stalker because Connie is encouraging it. Maybe Clara will be for him since Francisco was fixated on Connie.
I have nothing new to say about the Rat; she is a total idiot.
What Arturo did was to give Erick one last chance to redeem himself professionally. Although we don't know exactly how long he's been working at HQ it is probably long enough to know better. I'm guessing he's about the same age as Franco who knows his stuff so what's his excuse? I hope Arturo or Augustin sends someone to check up on the Chimp and report back regularly.
I think Fabiola G will be typecast as the chick who always goes for older men. And that center-parted hair has to go. In the gala scene two weeks ago her hair was perfect (totally off her face and falling down her back).

Tofie: Now come on. Not for a minute do I believe Ratt hasn't brushed up against that ink.
You and I think alike, but she may not have brushed up against that ink. I would definitely depend on his favorite position. Just sayin! Bad Cynderella!
I did know a fellow once who only needed 5 hours of sleep, and it was great because he did a lot of volunteer work with abused children when he wasn't at his regular job. His wife, alas, had a chronic illness and needed 12 hours sleep a night. But they made it work.
Judyb..Richard Rankin is a supporting actor. Have you googled the leading man Sam Heughan? Verra fine. His character is a twenty four year old virgin Highland warrior who marries a time traveler who is four years older. ...but was born 200 years later. That marriage worked out verra well.
Just off the top of my head:
Sortilegio- Daniela R. and Gabriel Soto
La Malquerida- Sabine M. and Joshua G. (Memo)
Un Refugio Para el Amor- Luz Maria J. (Tia Connie) and Harry G. (Oscar)
So Gaby doesn't cover up enough seems to be the consensus not only of Humberto but also from several patio members. (It's quite cold now--mid December. Is there heat or a covered patio? Doesn't seem much like patio weather to me.) Yesterday I had a letter to mail and decided that a walk to the post office would be a good thing. On the way I passed a boutique that had some nice fashionable ensembles on display. Great designs, I liked everyone of them. But---all were shorter than Gaby's outfits.
If you're young and beautiful, well----
Weekend comments about the "wonderful" "loving" "25 year good/loyal/caring" wife Nina. Art had no problems with her until Julia re-entered his mind. Ok, I can get that. Nina favors "dumb ass Erick" because he is the first son. Even when he sells out the family, it's Ok. She doesn't like Miguel because---well, he's a stepson. She just loves and adores Daniela her "lazy good for nothing socially trashy" daughter. She absolutely loathes Regina her hard working, I want to make something out of my life daughter. Good going wonderful mother Nina. Rave cheers from the patio. Consuelo? Well she doesn't even have a prayer.
How well will #1 son take care of the new problem of unrest on the project?
must see tv
the gringo
Nina.
OT: Who has Windows 10? Mine will install tomorrow and I'm afraid of losing files.
Anita, thanks for confirming that the sweet eyes (and dimples) are in abeyance here. I miss them.
Eladio's wandering tattoo?? Remember Teo the hunchback security guard in CI? His hump had a tendency to meander across his back. Sounds like the tattoo is a similar error in continuity. Interesting to hear that El holds something sacred--you wouldn't know that from his general demeanor and conduct.
