Pasion y Poder #129 Wednesday 4-20-2016
After Jorge tells Gina he will wait for her (to make up her mind about marrying him) they both wipe their tears away and go back to the wedding party.
Auggie and Gaby eat pizza and talk on a bench at the foundation. They talk about how Franco is working all the time and doesn't find time to spend with Gaby. Auggie tells her that Franco will have to make time if he wants to be a father.
Chimp boy meets with Assmore. Assmore wants CB to put up the money to start their business deal. CB stupidly agrees and also agrees to let Assmore draw up the contract. Assmore wants to know how and where CB is getting the money. CB tells him that he has his own money, apart from his father. Of course we all know the money is coming from the fake kidnapping.
Auggie tries to cheer up Gaby. She thanks him for supporting her. He says that she is a great woman, sacrificing her day off to take care of a child that isn't even her own. If it were up to Gaby, she would adopt all of them. Auggie suggest that they adopt five. They both laugh.
Back to the wedding Miguel and Connie get off the dance floor to talk. Art is watching them from a distance. Connie tells Miguel that she misses her baby. Miguel calms her down and they end up in a loving embrace. Art wants to talk with Gina. He asks if she is OK and she nods her head No.
Petra hands a shot of tequila to David telling him that it won't heal his heart, but it will help him get through a rough time. He's about to drink it when Eladio tells him not to. He gives it back to Petra and she walks away. Eladio tells him that's not the answer. He knows that David was affected by Gina's answer to Jorge's proposal. David tells his father that Gina must still have feelings for him (duh). Eladio agrees and tells him that everybody knows that already. David doesn't know what to do because of Dani. Eladio tells him that you do not marry someone unless you love them. Eladio knows that David is only with Dani out of a committment. He asks what David wants for his future, love or committment?
Gina tells her father that she does not like to feel pressured, so she asked Jorge for some time. Art says that she made a good decision. Jorge interrupts them because they are about to cut the cake. Jorge leaves. Art and Gina continue talking. Art tells her that he knows that her decision had to do with David. He tells her that whatever she decides to do, to not listen to anyone, including her mother, him (Art), not even Dani. Gina can't believe what she is hearing. She can't harm her sister, especially now. He tells her that it's all part of an evaluation process, it's part of growing up and being an adult. She insists that she can't cause Dani any harm, and she tells her father that this (getting back with David) would destroy Dani. Art doesn't want Gina to suffer anymore. Gina says that she made the mistake by breaking up with David and now she is paying the consequences, but that doesn't mean she is going to marry out of spite. She continues saying that David and Dani are happy together, and she has Jorge. After David, Jorge is the best guy she knows. For now she is going to continue with Jorge and she'll see what happens next. They end the convo in a hug.
David wants to tell Gina that he still loves her, but he knows that it's the worst thing he could do to Dani, and he doesn't want to do that. Eladio tells him that he (David) doesn't realize that he will hurt Dani anyway when she finds out the truth. Plus, David's happiness is at stake. David says that Gina did not want to fight for their love. He says he can't do anything but feel suffering and hurt. It hurts Eladio to see David suffer. David thanks his father but tells him there is nothing left to do. Eladio says there is always something that can be done. David says No, he created this prison he is living in, he's the one that got involved with both sisters. Before Eladio can say more Dani comes up to them and greets Eladio. David and Dani leave Eladio alone.
Franco is with Mateo and Marintia. Franco gets a call from Assmore. When he hangs up he tells Marintia that within a few days he is going to destroy Eladio. It's all a question of timing.
Julia is talking with Art over the phone about the wedding. He tells her the wedding is over and he can't wait to be with her. Julia hangs up when she sees Nina coming into the room. Julia wants to know why she's at her house because they have nothing left to say to each other. Nina says that with all the hatred she has had for Julia, she has come to tell her that she can have Art. She won't reproach or bother her. Julia doesn't know what Nina wants, but she doesn't believe her. Julia does not think that Nina is sincere. Nina says she is being sincere, and she is also telling her as a mother. As Dani's mother, she is asking Julia to support Dani in her relationship with David. Julia seems affected by Nina's words.
Back at the wedding Dani wants to know what David was talking about with his father. David says it was some family matters and tries to blow it off. Dani tells him that she knows what it means for David that Gina rejected Jorge's proposal. She knows that David still loves Gina because she heard his confession in Monterrey to Jorge.
Julia wants to know what Nina is asking of her. Nina wants Julia to support Dani and David's relationship. Julia feels bad for Dani, but doesn't think Nina is doing good by asking Julia for her help. Nina gets down on her knees to beg Julia for her help, but Julia gets her up off the floor. Julia tells Nina that it doesn't matter what she tells David, because he's going to do what he wants. She does not want to mix her and Nina's relationship with David and Dani's. Nina thinks it's impossible because everything is already so mixed up. Julia thinks Dani is a great girl but stays silent when Nina asks if she approves of Dani and David.
David feels bad for what Dani heard. She admits that she is hurting but she promised him that she would do everything to make their relationship work. She is going to fight for them because she loves David for reals!
Julia wants to know if Nina would be so supportive if the tables were turned. Nina says she would be. Julia is doubtful. Julia is worried because David still loves Gina. Nina knows that, but she also knows that David cares for Dani. Nina asks that Julia stop putting ideas in David's head (about Gina). Julia sees that Nina is still wearing her wedding band and tells her that she is sorry but she wants her son to be with the love of his life, and not a person with (drug) problems. Nina tells her that if Dani got involved with drugs it was because she didn't get love and attention from her father because he only had time for Julia. Julia refuses to feel guilty. Nina says it's up to Julia whether or not to accept responsibility, but she (Julia) knows that Art destroyed his family because of her.
Petra is tipsy. She's drinking tequila and dancing inside Justino's house. Obdulio finds her and they argue. She tells him she almost ruined his food but didn't because she likes Clarita and didn't want to ruin her wedding. Obdulio has had enough and finally confesses why he ruined Petra's food at the hacienda when they used to work together. He did it because the "patron" from the hacienda loved Petra's cooking so much that he was falling in love with her and Obdulio was afraid of losing Petra to the patron. So he ruined her food hoping that they would fire her and they did. He just didn't expect her to leave to soon and he lost track of her. He has been searching for her all this time. Petra seems moved by Obdulio's story and asks if she looks pretty.
Franco is with Marintia when he gets a call from Gaby. She called to tell him that she will be staying at the foundation til the next day because of a sick child she needs to stay with. He tells her he understands. She asks if he wants to go over to join her for dinner, but then realizes that he has ended the call. Franco tells Marintia is is free to stay the night.
Petra is upset that Obdulio got her fired. She would have preferred to run off with Obdulio. Obdulio apologizes, but it gets him nowhere. Petra is still pissed. She goes back to the party. She says she may be tipsy, but she's still a lady.
Art and Miguel have a chat at the wedding. Art tells Miguel the same thing he said a few weeks ago. Miguel is not EJ's father. Miguel argues back with the same, "I know I'm not EJ's father, but Erick doesn't love him, and I (Miguel) would make an excellent father." Don't get me wrong I have always sat at the Miguel table, but we all know this story already. Can we please have a scene that will move the story along and possibly start an anvil. Geez! Next come Gina and Jorge, but then Connie whisks Gina away to take some photos. Jorge and Art stay alone. Art hands Jorge a shot of tequila, telling him he needs it. Art scolds Jorge for proposing to Gina. Jorge says he got caught up in the moment. Art tells him he wants the best for Gina and to give her some time. Jorge agrees and drinks his tequila. Again, have we moved the story along? NO! NEXT!
David and Dani say goodbye to the novios (bride & groom). Justino drags David off to introduce him to some family members. Dani is left alone and runs into Gina. Dani tells her that she knows that Gina is still in love with David. Gina denies it. Dani thought that Gina was trying to be a good sister. Dani tells Gina that she can't attempt to be with David anymore because David loves Dani. Dani asks Gina not to take away her happiness. Gina tells Dani that she's not going to get married unless she's absolutely sure. She knows that Dani doesn't understand her so she would rather change the subject. She tells Dani not to worry because she knows that Dani is with David, and before she can continue Miguel interrupts this scene that yet again has not moved the story along and is just filling time. Miguel is nice to Dani and tells her that he hopes she can recover from her addiction and he hopes that they can get along better. Connie comes and tells her the same thing. David comes to take Dani home.
Art chats with a tipsy Petra who accidently spits on him. She says she has a broken heart then tells her ex-patron that she misses him then goes to get him a piece of cake.
Jorge wants to dance. Gina wants to leave. Clarita takes a picture of the happy couple. The bride drags them away to take more pictures.
Art talks with Julia over the phone. He had been waiting for her call. She tells him about Nina's visit. She will tell him about it when he goes over to see her later.
David and Dani come over to Art to say goodbye. Dani leaves to get her purse. Left alone David tells Art that no matter what he does he can't stop Gina from loving David, and blames Art for not being able to be with Gina. Art does not agree, but can't say much because Dani comes back. She asks her father if everything is OK. He says he's fine. They leave. Art takes a picture with Clarita. The newlyweds thank him for attending the wedding and the gift. He thanks them for the invite and congratulates them, then says goodbye. As Art is leaving Caridad stops him. She introduces herself and asks Art for a favor. She knows that Art is dating Julia and asks him to thank Julia on her behalf for accepting Franco again in her life. She tells him that she is Franco's mother. She feels like she owes Julia so much for taking care of Franco as a child. Art tells her that he does not know how Julia will react to Caridad's message. Caridad hopes that Julia will forgive her one day because Caridad knows that Julia is a noble person. Art can not promise her anything, but will try. He leaves. Caridad is left crying.
Petra argues some more with Obdulio then flirts with a guest at the wedding in front of Obdulio. Day turns to night then we see Obdulio kissing Petra's hands inside Justino's house. Miguel and Connie come in and offer to take Petra home. Clarita, Justino and Luisita come out of the bedroom. The couple say goodbye. They are off on their honeymoon. Luisita hopes she gets to go on the next honeymoon trip.
David and Dani arrive at his apartment. David does not want to hurt Dani. He thinks in the future, Dani might regret being with David. Dani is sure that she will never love anyone like she loves David. She will never feel regret. David does not know what to say. She says that he will not be able to disillusion her because she loves him just like he is, even though he loves another woman. That's how big her love is for him and how much she wants to be with him.
Auggie brings Gaby dinner. He asks for Franco. She says he's working. He asks if he can stay to eat with her. She happily says yes. He says he's alone and bored in his apartment, besides here she can tell him how the foundation works and he can see how and where he can help her. Shs asks what he bought for dinner. He says he MADE dinner. Gaby is pleasantly surprised. They exchange smiling faces.
Back to D&D. David doesn't doubt what Dani feels for him, he just is not sure that continuing with the relationship is the best thing to do. Dani thinks that next David will say "it's not you, it's me." Or maybe he wants out because Gina rejected Jorge's proposal. David denies this. He says he feels hurt that he can't love her with all his heart and soul, that he can't give himself to her. He says it's not fair to either of them. But Dani insists that she wants to be with him. She says that what he gives her is enough to make her happy everyday. David wants her to understand that she is going through a complicated time right now, and she has to understand that whether they are together or just friends he will NEVER abandon her. He will always be close and he will not leave her alone. But she needs to understand that he is scared of doing something that might affect her, that might hurt her. He doesn't want her to fall off the wagon. Dani asks what's more hurtful than hearing that he loves her sister? And yet she stayed quiet so they could stay together. She asks for him to trust her. She is just asking him to fight by her side, just like she will until the love he has for Gina is just a memory and he will think of Dani and only miss Dani and only love Dani. She kisses him and they embrace. David doesn't see the pain in her face.
Art is visiting Julia and tells her he missed her at the wedding. Art tells Julia about Jorge's proposal and Gina saying no to it. He also tells her that David is sure that Gina said no because she still loves him. Art asks what Nina wanted. Julia says that Nina said alot of things and she has been thinking about it since Nina left. She thinks that their past and their present relationship is affecting their children so it's best that they not only end their relationship, but that they never see each other again.

Most of tonight seemed to move in a rather slow, excruciating pace. As you noted, fillers abounded. The focus of many interactions seemed to be Dani - letting her know that she is cared about, cherished, etc. These scenes (along with far too many of Ashmore) seem to be building to some sort of tragic event (speculation, not spoiler).
"She asks for him to trust her. She is just asking him to fight by her side, just like she will until the love he has for Gina is just a memory and he will think of Dani and only miss Dani and only love Dani". Beautifully stated. While Dani is clearly seeing Regina and David love each other, her overall focus is still hazy as she seems to honestly believe her love for David will soothe all the wounds, making their relationship work.
If Nina truly believes it is best Dani and David be together, she is not the intelligent woman I've been giving her credit for. David should put his happiness aside just because Dani loves him? Frankly, I think that is what she wanted Arturo to do with her. And what about the heartbreak of her other daughter? In fairness, I think she feels Dani needs David but she is subjugating one daughter's happiness for the other. You may want a bird with a broken wing to fly but the bird must heal and do that on their own. I wish she had put the same fervent dedication into getting Dani to finish her rehab...
Nina's arrow hit its mark with Julia. But let's be real. If Julia really loved Arturo, a few cutting, well aimed remarks from Nina would not have had her end their relationship so quickly and finally.
I'm wondering who will fall first - Eladio or Erick.
AuntyAnn, thank you for this excellent summary.
Diana
They really didn't even need the actors on the screen. They should have just scrolled the dialog on the screen.
No anvils falling, nobody getting shot or beat to hamburger. just blah blah blah blah blah
Jeeso Peezo I just do not care about Turtles or anything remotely related.
Go ahead, David, Dump Dani, Shoot Jorge, reboink Gina. Leave town while those three die. I Just DO Not Care.......
Jewelie wants to dump Farturo F O R E V E R. Sorry Julia, I am dozing off if you aren't shooting him or giving him an overdose or something. Or WORSE.. put it on Farceboink that you two broke up. That will do it.
Thanks again AA. It's not you, it's the show.
Gaby: Well...yeah..I thought of that, but how could I tell?
Auggie: Well, listen to this, I have a plan that might work. You and I just......
He sure is convincing. It just reinforces what I have observed in real life.
Nina is an absolute fool to think there would be anything right about sacrificing one daughter's happiness for another. She has made the mistake of convincing herself that Regina's "strength" and Daniela's weakness is the right excuse to do this. What she is conveniently forgetting is David's feelings for both girls. How could she expect that he would be able to stop loving Regina to love Daniela? How could she further expect that any loving relationship between her daughters could even exist after this?
El corazon no se manda, Nina.
She also makes the mistake of blaming Julia for the end of her marriage and the "destruction" of the Montenegro family. Wrong again. Nina is still resentful over not being able to own Arturo's past and over not being his first love. That was part of the reason she was cruel to Miguel and why she called him a "bastard," as though Arturo had never been married to Miguel's mother. Nina destroyed her own family by doing this and encouraging the same nasty behavior in her two favored children.
Based on what the writers have been doing with the constant flip-flopping of the characters' behavior I'm thinking that Julia's true feelings are not being factored into her decision. She is still easily guilt-tripped and she is still not really ready for a new or renewed relationship, both of which are believable. Also, the writers are too invested in their concept of suspense to allow her to commit to anything.
Kirbo - yes, nice guys do finish last (but Jorge is just too desperate and that's usually the downfall of most nice guys when women are younger) We want the bad boys! (being married to a bad boy for 13 years myself, I know this all too well - reformed bad boy I should say...but was then and still has the traits now)
UrbanA - I thought Art married Miguel's mom. My Spanish sucks so you are probably correct. I thought he married her because she became pregnant so that was why he is considered a bastard. Ok, gotta get out of here...work bowling tournament today and a webinar at the same time...how I plan to accomplish this? good question.
Julia married Eladio out of spite. When Susanna died in childbirth after six or seven months of marriage Arturo looked for Julia to discover that she was married and pregnant. They decided never to see each other again. Arturo went into depression and workaholism for six or seven months, met Nina, and married her when Miguel was a year old.
Bastard being a child of an unmarried woman.
Right? Im no experrt.
In all the years I've been watching novelas I can't recall the Spanish equivalent being used this way. Nina's use of this word invalidated Arturo's first marriage in her head because in her world she was his first and only love. Considering that they were very young at the time one could make the argument that this was possible, but Arturo didn't talk about Julia. This was due to the pain of losing her and on the assumption that they could avoid her socially.
Diana, totally agree that the writers are setting us up for Dani's demise.
I think Nina just wants David to be with Dani until she is strong enough to stand on her own. She knows her daughter is extremely fragile and any wrong move can push her over the edge. For me, she is fighting for the life of her daughter so whatever she has to do, even hurt Reg, she will do.
I disagree with Nina that Art and Julia are what pushed her to drugs. Nina has to take some responsibility for that too. Both ignored her and let her do what she wanted growing up.
The look on Art's face when Julia told them she wanted to end the relationship was interesting. He didn't believe for a second that would happen. He was just thinking about what he could say to manipulate her back in. And he knows it won't be hard since she is everyone's putty.
UA: Purple Lips is growing on me. When this TN got started, I HATED the way she treated Miguel, Regina & Connie, etc., & now that the anvils are starting to fall on her (ala Chickens Coming Home to Roost), I'm slowly beginning to like this Bad Girl!
Kendra: My older sister has been married to a bad boy for 31+ years (I'm the youngest of 14 kids). I couldn't stand the guy, but he later came around as a cool guy despite the flaws.
Now, Jorge needs to accept reality that Regina doesn't want him around. He just cannot seem to take the hints that when all is said & done, Regina & David are going to be together.
Kirbo: Did you notice that Daniela's conversation with David looked like a goodbye in my eyes, in the likelihood of another relapse due to her drug problems ?
Diana: Both Erick & Franco will go down very hard. Franco will do something really stupid like hitting Gaby during another argument & Erick will try to kill Connie or Jr.,
Eladio's anvils are coming too. It's just a matter of when!
"Again, have we moved the story along? NO! NEXT!"
I'm sick and tired of David the drama queen. He dated and slept with sisters and doesn't deserve a do over.
Dani is most tragic. Instead of both sets of parents arguing over which sister David gets somebody needs to roll their sleeves up and help the girl.
Dani is so damaged and spoiled I can never take her seriously. Cry wolf too many times and look what happens. She has not been very truthful in the past, everything she has ever said was a calculated lie.
What will Mr. Farturo do now?
1.) Realize the mistakes he has made with everyone in his life? Every last one? Have an epiphany and start to salvage his family, his friendship with Augustino, bury the hatchet with Eladio and work together as businessmen, For Forking Get J U L I A.
2.) Assume that true to form, Julia is reacting to input from Zombies and up the heat to win her back, concoct some new even more (if possible) hairbrained plan with Humperdick, and take back the wedding car and give it to Julia instead?
3.) Do us all a favor and drink the Hemlock.
Arrrrrgh give me that hemlock.
All I can sum up about last night was STOP ALL THE TALKING!!
Where the heck are the events, plots, something besides people having the same conversation with four different people. I've never seen a show snail crawl to a finale as badly as this one. And it doesn't bode well to have things be done sloppily and just force the pink bow endings, if there are any.
I had a very bad feeling with the honeymoon couple leaving Consuelo with their little one. Why do I just know somehow these stupid writers will pull in a child from somewhere as part of the finale plot. GRRR.
Daisynjay
Nice guys do not always finish last, but I fear that nice Jorge will.
Just brainstorming here....sister wives?
I also fear that Dani is not long for this world after all those expressions of love from folks she has treated dreadfully.
I cringed when Nina got down on her knees before Julia. I've never thought of Nina as dumb, but her pleading with Julia to let Dani keep David so she can stay off drugs was nuts. Dani needs Nina and Art to get her back into rehab. I don't believe she is in love with David. He is her new drug and comes with the added bonus of formerly belonging to the sister she's always envied.
Who knows why Dani started using drugs. My guess is she considered it a cool partygirl thing to do and didn't expect to get dependent on them.
David had some nerve pooh-poohing Art for the breakup with Regina when he's boinking the man's other daughter. David, Art is not responsible for you bouncing from one sister and back again.
Yay, Augie comes to Gaby's rescue with a home-cooked meal.
I can't believe Franco was able to buy enough shares to takeover from Eladio. Marcos refused to embezzle anymore so maybe Franco went ahead and did it but there would still have to be shares available. I'm assuming that this is what Franco meant when he told Mari in a couple of days Eladio would be taken down.

Totally agree with both of these. However Nina is past the point of no return, which happened before the kiss with Joshua. There were serious boundary issues in this family from the get-go and probably neither parent was qualified to sort it out without professional help. Nina spoiled Daniela to the degree that the girl measures love by her parents giving in to her demands. This is never a good thing.
As to getting her into rehab, yes. The problem is that they cannot legally commit her into it because she is no longer a minor. Eladio got her to go in, but how long was it before she walked out, a few days? The clinic isn't a jail and Erick must have helped her get out by fetching her credit cards or whatever so she could hop a plan to Monterrey to get her new drug (David) and whatever pins she could stick into Regina.

Marcos refused to embezzle anymore so maybe Franco went ahead and did it but there would still have to be shares available. I'm assuming that this is what Franco meant when he told Mari in a couple of days Eladio would be taken down.
We don't know what percentage Julia owns. We only know that it is significant, so I'm guessing that it's at least 35-40%. Franco was given 20% and sold "a small amount" (maybe 2-3%) to buy his fancy car that we only saw once. If David never took possession of the 20% Eladio tried to give him, then that could be up for grabs.
My guess is that Assmore will buy all or some of what remains with the cash he is getting from Erick. I doubt that Erick will sign shares over to him, at least at first. Augustin would probably catch that and simultaneously tell Arturo and raise holy hell.
I'm going to miss these two families. They always keep me wondering what they will do or be doing next---and of course I will miss the golden girl of acting,
Susana Gonzalez. Genesis Rodriguez is making it in Hollywood, why isn't Susana? Susana should be front and center on the Oscar stage.
It is starting to look like we are being set up for Dani's demise. Nina pleading for her favorite daughter and Dani telling David that she knows that he is still in love with Regina but no matter, she will love him till??? I suspect that we soon will see Ashmore make his move. Will Daniela's life be over or will she somehow survive? If she does survive, where will that leave David? I don't know what is coming but I will be watching every minute of what lies ahead and you guys can bet that the gringo won't be bored for even a single moment.
Has Julia made up her mind or will Arturo play her? I can't wait. Will Julia finally end up in charge of herself? Not if Daddy Humberto has anything to say about it. --- 8 hours to show time.
must see tv
the gringo
Gaby, open your eyes. Spoiled dishonest Brat, Self made man?
Hard choices for a girl.
Nina gets a lot of heat, but I really felt for her. She's worried about her daughter and she's desperate. She knows her daughter is in a bad way and that she's clinging to the one thing that gives her happiness. Nina was wrong, but her heart was in the right place. She was all about her daughter and nothing else.
I love my Julia, but she needed to see that ring on Nina's finger and to hear the truth, Art DID blow apart his marriage to be with her. She doesn't bear the blame for Dani's substance abuse problems, that was a low shot by Nina and unfair. Still no matter what Art may say, this mess is all on his selfish arrogant shoulders. He may not have had the best family, but Nina was loyal and faithful and if he was so miserable why not get out before he ever saw Julia? He's a coward who threw his wife/kids under the bus to chase a memory and a woman that doesn't even want to be with him. DIE Arturo...DIE!!
Just when I was digging Miguel, here comes Consuelo to whine about missing her bebe and there's Miguel, comforting her. Yawn. wash/rinse/repeat
Boreje and Regina, blah blah..blah. So painful, so boring, so pointless.
Petra was a gem! She is the only thing that made last nights ep somewhat tolerable.
It's such a silly thing, but I love when Franco and Marintia, say "Timing or rather..Thy-ming. I get a chuckle out of it.
On another note: I'm so sad about Prince.
Thanks UrbanA...I had started to delete those episodes so I missed a lot. It was 2 hours and painful. Conversations went on forever and were boring me to sleep so I didn't see all of them or tuned most of the show out.
Steve...As long as he is good to your sister, then everything is perfect. My hubby is very affectionate and protective with me (sometimes doesn't understand when I'm being sensitive about an issue - but he tries to understand), but when he tears into people - I feel bad for them. A lawd help you if you do something negative towards me or our kids. But people love him.
Now, OT...I have to go be sad. Prince has died and I'm heartbroken.
Agustín and Gaby the new Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt? Okay, I can live with that. Agustín will need to purchase a house with enough rooms if he wants to adopt five kids, though.
That said, I like these two together. I don't mind the age difference. It was sweet when Agustín brought her the homemade food.
Obdulio turned out to be a putz. He sabatoged Petra's food to get her fired because he was jealous that Petra would fall for the boss. Say what?! What kind of love is that?!
It was a short one, but I liked the scene with Daniela and Miguel.
Second lesson learned..do not date people who are related to each other...never a good idea.
Third lesson...don't take drugs.
Fourth lesson...don't wear purple lipstick no matter how gorgeous you may be!
Fifth lesson...Get a black leather jacket and some cool sunglasses.
Sixth lesson....avoid spoiled, entitled folks.
susanlynn, very sad about Prince. A musical genius.
Diana
OK you got me. you are kidding, right.
My bad, I almost took you seriously.
Cute joke.
k
Kirbo you are right. Gabi doesn't know how low down Franco is so why is she spending so much time with a guy showering her with attention she knows didn't want her to marry Franco in the first place, offered himself as an alternative and bad mouthed her husband at lunch several days ago.
Petra is a wonderful character and I wish she'd been shown more. One of the few people in this show doesnt bore me.
Also want to see more of Nina/Miguel power duo. I've been rooting for these characters all along and I really hope they get all they deserve. I feel like Nina's anvils have already happened or are starting to happen and I hope she makes it out okay. She's changed too much not to.
But that scene with Julia was a bit too much. She's been woken up from being brain dead aside Mr. Blarturo and now she goes and does that??? I really do hope it's because she's desperate to help Dani and not because she's still as stupid as the rest of them.
Gaby and Augie are surprisingly adorable. I still dont get how Fabiola Guajardo won an award for this role but oh well..
Diana! You are too kind. I must agree with you regarding Nina. Her plea to Julia was well intended but wrong. As someone else here noted, I wish Nina would have applied the zeal she had in begging Julia to help keep Dani and David together to get Dani into rehab. And Delilah nailed it with Nina trying to blame Julia for Dani's problem was Nina's bitterness. It's on Art and Nina but more so Art.
Carlos, after Nina's comment to her simian child yesterday (basically you better care for your child or I will personally see Connie get him), I want to least have a drink at the Nina table with you and the others there.
Thanks for another very well done informative recap. I always enjoy hearing your unique take on things.
Bless her heart, Regina was given the perfect opportunity and opening to cool things way down with Jorge. So what does she do? She tells him that he merely took her by surprise and that she needs time. Time for what?
Concerning Agustín, I've never cared for him. No matter how charming or principled he may be, as far as I'm concerned he's still not much more than Arturo's loyal toady and a creepy near-pedophilic stalker. He began chasing after Gabriela the day he met her and has not let up. Don't forget that he previously inappropriately sent her flowers and last night when she told him that she'd adopt 2 of the orphans and he said, "Why don't We adopt (adoptamos) 5?" And don't forget that he participated with Arturo in hiding assets from Nina and stood by as Arturo suborned a witness which allowed Erick to roam free kidnapping his own child and raping Coni. Agustín is no saint... of course opinions may vary.
Now as for Gabriela, I agree with tofie, if she is interested in Agustín... fine... then stop trying to get pregnant and dump Franco first.

p.s. RIP Prince...
You are very welcome to join us (even if just for a spell) here at the Nina table. I'm not proud of everything she does (her visit to Julia last night was ill-advised) but I still contend that she is basically good and has always been an adoring, loyal, faithful wife to Arturo.

I'd like to see things move along a little more briskly too, but I'm kind of resigned to these big, stately TNs switching gears in the very final hours when they turn into action-packed shoot-em-ups. Oh well.
And just for the record, I don't see Agustín as Arturo's toady, but rather as his conscience. And I'd be delighted to see him end up with Gaby and five kids who need a home.
My mil was 27 when she married my father in law who was 13 years older than her. He has since passed, but as they aged things became very tough. She was always very vibrant and took/takes great care of herself. My FIL not so much and it was very tough as they both aged for her to have to slow down because her husband had let his health and mind go once he retired. She grew bitter and resentful and it was very sad and painful to watch.
My nephew is in the same situation right now with a wife who is in her mid twenties while he is in his late 30's. I don't see it as a good situation for either of them, the cracks are already starting to show, add to that he is a control freak.
I don't say it can't work, but from what I've seen first hand, it's hard and takes a lot of work and compromises.
At the top of my Prince playlist:
1999
I wanna be your lover
U Got The Look
Raspberry Beret
Here in Portland tonight the Morrison bridge will be lit up in Purple, and our forecast is rain tonight. Truly fitting. I"m so sad, it all feels surreal.
As for my beloved Prince, as few of my favorites were I would die 4 U, Let's Go Crazy, 1999, and Musicology.
Thanks Steve, I didn't know he wrote "I Feel for You."
Danny is just really pitiful, there's no way I'm going to try to hang on to a man who I know is in love with somebody else she looks like she's trying to force it, that's just sad. And jorge is going to wait for a lifetime for a woman he knows is in love with somebody else too, what are these people crazy or something? life is too short to be holding on to Greasy rope.
And art is still not taking responsibility for his part in the breakup of Regina and David he's not seeing that he did anything wrong, lying liar he used it to get what he wanted not givin a dam about nobody but himself. His anvils is
coming.
It seems that everybody know what the right thing to do Is, but nobody wants to do the right thing, mostly for selfish reasons. and the crazy dance continues.
