Well, it looks like Humberto got his wish after all. He is the only PyP character consistent enough and resourceful enough to achieve his goals. Though he is absolutely vile, his perseverance is admirable!

What happened to Jorge Salinas's English? It was excellent in MCET but in last night's Vegas scens, he was mostly unintelligible. Still, when Arturo asked the bellhop if he'd seen Humberto, I totally cracked up: "Werss may fren wit de wilcher?” Ahí te encargo :D Oh, I kid Arturo, with love! Please do forgive my silly jokes. Because I can't comment too much on the action (I'm watching ahead), all I get to do is rant or snark or pick up on silly details!


 

I do not gamble, and know very little about that world, but just soley on the pile of things Humdog had shortly, it looked like he was doing pretty good. From looking at the marble and bicycle wheel looking thing, it appears it takes ZERO player skill, but rather a huge load of dumb to play.

WOW. This show really, really, really is about damaged, dishonest people, helpless against their demons by choice.

By immeasurable small steps forward, Nina appears to be seeing Chimp Who must Die as he really is. She may never admit to herself, let alone others, how bad he really is. There is SO much bad there that if she sees a small part she will be repulsed.

I took it that Humdog is using Arturo's money to gamble, from their conversation about restraint. I guess he is keeping his squirreled away for a rainy day.
 

I was rather hoping when Humberto took his oxygen tube off that he would drop dead right there at the table. Hey, he would die happy...and in a place which he probably considers even better than Heaven. Good times.

Mauricio, Hummy was a riot last night! I love Vegas! His prayers were that of a true gambler. Judy B, I thought he might die too but he's too much fun.

Kirbo, my boyfriend loves to gamble and insists there is some skill involved but I agree with you, I insist it's all dumb luck and I'm not willing to take a chance on losing. I do believe that with table games like black jack and poker there is certainly some skill involved but Hummy's game of choice, Roulette, is all chance, in my opinion.

Stringing him along? I don't see it that way at all. In fact, I can't imagine Regina playing someone or hurting people for what ever reason. Regina is just not that kind of person. Now Daniela?
As I remember, Turtle Boy was practically begging her for a chance and because she didn't want to cause any more cross family trouble that there already was, Regina said yes, ok to Turtle Boy's request. She tried and is trying but her heart just isn't with Turtle Boy and not only that, but now she is finding out that her girlfriend boyfriend with David is or wasn't as much as a problem as she thought that it would be. Right now she's wavering in her decision with Jorge, not unlike the wavering that we are seeing with Julia. So back to the question, is Regina stringing Jorge along---it may appear that way but I definitely don't think that it's intentional. Oh, and one more thing, Regina has that sister problem to contend with.

Gina, dear, just stop it. I have a hard time feeling bad for her sniveling being she's the one who walked away so fast and so eagerly. But are they starting the setup to get her and David back together because...well, weird. It's a TN, it's TN, it's TN.

If Hummy dropped dead at that roulette wheel ( c'mon Hums...true gamblers go for the games of expertise), he would probably be the one character who can die happy and no repercussions. Even some of the possible Happy couples will piss off others, alienate others or maybe have to experience tragedy first. This guy is Teflon..daughter died, I cried and done, grandkids are worthless, whatever, other daughter is unhappy, she'll get over it. But I hit RED 10!!! Hello Mt. St. Casino in the sky.

Yes, I see the handwriting on the wall, David and Regina will be together at the end. I just hope they don’t kill Dani off to make that happen. (Dani, there are some here on the Patio who are hoping for your recovery, so sorry you decided to pay off the drug test administrators. I’m still rooting for you, but you’re making it harder.)

The writers did the Regina character a grave disservice by having her walk out of the door, bags packed, before the dust settled from Julia’s big Arturo admission to David. There was cruelty and stubborn imperiousness in that move. If the couple had just fought for a few days, then separated, their predicament would be more understandable. Also, I’m sure Regina was trying to warn David about Dani’s drug use, but her “remember Dani in the hotel,” came across as, “Hello bus, here’s Dani.” Too bad.

Diana, so glad you opened my heart to Miguel, he and Consuelo are wonderful together. Glad I’m sharing his Patio table with you.
 

Lily thanks. So that is what that thing is called. A roulette wheel. I submit that my spell check could do as well as any human. The card games I understand do take some bluffing, lying, cheating, etc. etc. Go for it Humdog, you're a natural. Humdog millionaire?

At the expense of sounding crass...if Regi is um...givin it up, though that is kind of a double edged sword, then maybe she is not stringing the Turtle Boy along. If this is all platonic, as we are led to believe, Poor Pitiful Turtle Boy.

After Dani's scam last night, looks like she'll be going downhill or worse. So sad. If David and Regina get back together, Regina will never know if it's true love or if David returned because Dani is out of commission.

Consuelo loves him and Miguel is a nice guy, so I'm all for them. But, gees, I still don't want to see him topless or those two getting busy. Sandy and Diana, can I still visit his patio table?

Julia and Gaby looked so outdone to discover Humberto was in Vegas. How are they going to react when they realize he's playing with his blackmail earnings from Franco from Gaby's dad's shoe business?
 

Steve: These strokes in this story who stumble onto life-changing information and do nothing drive me over the edge. No, Justin is simply trying to make his trophy hood-rat happy. Can't say I blame him. I'd be happy as a clam to be married to her for a little while.

And we get to see Julia cry for the remaining episodes. Joy.

Sandy TN---I was never anti Miguel either. Although not considered my many to be Mr.
right, I never thought that he was a creep and I felt that he definitely was sincere with Consuelo.

I didn't catch any of Arturo's English at all last night. I saw the cc's in Spanish and found myself saying what?

I can only submit that the shirtless scene must surely have been strictly for Consuelo's benefit. ;) To be honest though, I didn't mind the kisses as it was nice to see someone happy amidst this sordid mess (besides Justino and Clara).

daisy, I can't imagine Arturo bringing Hummy there just to keep a promise. After all, Humberto has not really come through on his end has he? I think something is going to happen, although I can't surmise what.

I don't think Arturo gave him any money, certainly not the big payoff he was looking for. In fact, if I had written this I might have had Arturo say "You'll get your payment... after the wedding."

I agree that Humberto is there for more than the gambling.

I guess Regina has forgotten she broke up with David three or four times and played with him like a yoyo. Jorge is not a rebound guy but apparel.

The best part of the whole episode was Art shopping for baby gifts at the casino gift shop. Sweet.It made me almost forgive him for his many bad decisions .

Hum looked like he had , indeed, gone to heaven as he rolled into that casino...dreadful , old man.

Missed the part about Dani paying off someone in the lab so I was as befuddled as Eladio, wondering how she came out as clean as Mother Teresa rather than the dirty girl we know she is. Well played Dani.

Alas, you Miguel fans, I absolutely cringe at those love scenes with Consuelo. Yes, bird-like arms, concave chest. Creepy eyes. I DO NOT NEED THOSE SCENES. PUH-LEEZE.

Got a kick out of the corrupted witness' wife dissing him thoroughly for spending all his ill-gotten gains on some married woman whose husband promptly killed him. Callao tries to offer sympathy and she wants no part of it. Another wife wronged. Oh my.

Ya know this really is FUN now. When this show went from interesting to bad I lost interest. Now that it has moved from bad to awful, I love it again. Like how you can't take your eyes off a train wreck, or hot Lava swallowing a village.

Looks like the Dani Midnight Express does not see the misaligned rails ahead.

That's a classic line. It's gotten bad enough that Nina can't defend him anymore. The two reveals waiting to happen are going to put the nail in the coffin for Ape Child although I'd still rather see him in prison at the end.
 

Are we sure Mejia had nothing to do with this novela? I despise all the characters, except for FC/Eladio of course & baby Erick.

Dave is crazy, just like his dad. Dave tells Eladio that it bugs him that Gina is with Jorge. He explodes. Eladio, proudly tells his son that he is a chip off of the old block. Why just last year, I used to explode and beat your mother when I thought of her with Art. The two laugh. Good times between psycho and son.

You explained that scene so well. Before then, I hadn't realized how alike Eladio and David are. They really are father and son. Or psycho and son as you put it. :)

I loved Hummy's new mode of transportation for Vegas. It looked like he was riding one of those scooters from The Scooter Store.
 

Worth the wait! Great recap Cynderella.

I don't know if David is any idiot, any more than the rest of them anyway. He only knows the Dani who inherited some of her mother's acting skills and SEEMS to be on the mend. And Gina moping and trying to pull a Julia and bad-mouth the competition when she was the one who flew the coop to start with comes off as being a mean Girl who lost the quarterback to the cheerleader with the cuter tush.

It was a Caridad free episode from what I caught-so there was that.

Wow! Just WOW. And that's only part 1! So many good lines!

"This telenovela has more psychiatrist that the AMA." I get a kick at how many of these characters are in therapy! I have never seen a TN with ANY characters in therapy, even though a lot of TN characters need it. I believe there was discussion of some characters in MCET needing therapy as well as in Lo Imperdonable and it was never even uttered and here we are with 3 therapists!

"Dani tells everyone that Gina is not staying, she marks her territory by licking Dave. " Although Dani has not killed anyone, she is evil, she tried to steal back the guy she dropped and had no problem hurting her sister when Regina was with Dave and continues to hurt her. Now she bribed a medical professional for the drug test to be negative. She's the same as chimp boy imo. I can't stand her.

As for Miguel and Connie, I am rooting for them to be happy but I agree that we don't need to see the "bird arms" and "concave chest". LOL

Daisynjay, you are right, I didn't even realize that it was a Caridad and Mouth breather free episode! Must be why I enjoyed it so much. We were almost Gaby free until the end there too if I recall correctly.
 

Okay, I have tried to resist temptation, but I can't do it...Will what happens in Vegas stay in Vegas?..probably not.

I preferred watching Elvis and AnnMargert do Vegas much more than watching Art and Hum..the Odd Couple .
