Tres Veces Ana, 5/23/16: Premier, Episodes 1&2

Hello Patio Peeps! While the recapping team for Tres Veces Ana (Sneaky2Shoes, Ria, and Jardinera) gets themselves together and figure out their recapping schedule (team members are still needed), I'm posting this discussion page for the first episodes. These two episodes, we pretty much got everything that was in this synopsis

The Short Version:
In addition to what's already in the synopsis, we learned that: Uncle Mariano is a womanizer; Ana Lucia is in a love triangle with her two besties and doesn't know it; Ana Lucia was taught to read palms by the local nice bruja (Chana), and she's REALLY good at it; Ana Leticia was the one who caused the accident with her parents and sisters; all three sisters suffer from nightmares; it's been three years since Marcelo "died" and was reborn Santiago; Remedios' husband was with Santiago when he had his accident and he died, but not before warning Remedios that Marcelo/Santiago is in great danger and she needed to care for him; and Ramiro almost married a con woman a few years ago, found out the truth, realized his love for Ana Laura, dumped his lying fiance at the altar, and she then committed suicide (bummer).

The Long Version (debut recap by Ria):

Here is a little summary I wrote as I watched these episodes. I agree, the show is off to a good start so far. The whole uncle Mariano/Ana Leticia angle is already starting to smell... And whoever predicted that we will get good music here was right - that main song is quite melodious! - Ria

The Accident:
The triplets (aged 4-5 maybe?) and their parents drive along the coastal road happily. Ana Leticia (the evil triplet) is whinily requesting to drive the car, which was kindly denied by her parents. She grabs the wheel, the car careens off the cliff into the water. Parents are dead, and Ana Leticia watches her sister Ana Lucia float away, while the other sister Ana Laura is sitting in the back seat with a bloody leg. Fast forward 20 some years on...

Ana Lucia:
She is a happy young woman, living in a small town with her "mother" Soledad. Soledad lost her own daughter, and shortly after she found Ana Lucia at the shore and raised her as her own. Ana Lucia does not remember her pre-accident life and believes Soledad is her mother. Soledad is hiding a photo of her dead daughter and periodically pulls it out to talk to her. Ana Lucia is a very good dancer. She and Soledad are visited by Don Isidro (?), who has a thing for Soledad. She doesn't pay too much attention to him though.

Ana Lucia reads palms of people's hands and is pretty good at that. She has visions/memories/dreams where she sees three of herself and she doesn't know what that means. She tells Soledad she will go to their friend - the local palm reader/fortune teller (Chana), who taught Ana Lucia. Soledad goes ahead of her and asks Chana to tell Ana Lucia that her dreams don't mean anything. Instead they do a card reading and the wise woman tells Ana Lucia that she has met a man, whose destiny is tied to hers, because they have both been lost for a long time. When this man finds his past, Ana Lucia will uncover the truth about herself.

Santiago/Marcelo:
Santiago lives with his godmother (Remedios), who picked him up and saved him after his car accident and, as he doesn't remember anything about his past, named him Santiago. Santiago works as a cab driver, and has recurring dreams of a woman, who he is convinced is part of his past and his love. He goes to the town where he had the accident for the festival (incidentally same town where Ana Lucia lived her whole life), and sees Ana Lucia there. He stops her and says that he is dreaming about her every night and he is in love with her. She laughs at him, looks at his hand, and with her palmistry knowledge says that he is married and should leave her alone. They part ways, she doesn't tell him her name.

Later, Santiago and Ana Lucia meet near the lake. He had come to the place of his accident. They have a nice chat, he tells her his story and that he doesn't know who he is. She doesn't understand why he is remembering her. He is sure she is his past, they are connected, and perhaps he was too hasty and scared her by saying he loves her, but that is how he feels. She looks at his hand again, and it is missing the line of the past, same as her hand. Ana Lucia then has a vision from her childhood accident and needs to leave. Santiago wants to see her again. He later tells his godmother that he met the woman he dreamt about and she must have lied to him, because she said she didn't remember him. He knows she is his past and a key to finding answers.

Ana Leticia:
This is our evil triplet. She lives with her uncle Mariano and appears to have some unhealthy sort of crush on him. Mariano is engaged to Laisha Wilkins's character (Jenny), and Ana Leticia is jealous. Mariano spoils Ana Leticia and pays way less attention to his fiancé than she deserves. Fiancé is insecure if Mariano will ever marry her. Ana Leticia convinces uncle's fiancé to come to Mexico City with them. She does and Mariano leaves her at the hotel, skips the dinner at the family house, and answers a booty call from one of his friends (Claudia). Can't tell how exactly Tio Mariano feels about Ana Leticia yet, but this whole story line is a bit gross at the moment.

Ana Leticia, on the other hand, was married to Santiago in his previous life, when he was called Marcelo Salvatierra. Marcelo was an investigator helping the triplets' grandmother uncover the whereabouts of Ana Lucia, and mysteriously suffered an accident and died on the very same day he was going to give some very important information about Ana Lucia to her grandmother. Grandmother is still heartbroken over that fact, but doesn't lose hope. Everybody presumes Ana Leticia is, in turn, heartbroken over her husband's death, but she demonstratively tears his photo at the dinner table when no one sees her, and also tells her uncle he is the only man in her life. In the flashbacks to her wedding, she is watching her uncle's reaction as she kisses her new husband. As I said- gross...

Ana Laura:
Ana Laura is the kind triplet. She lost her leg in the accident, and feels very insecure about that and her appearance. She is mostly at home with grandmother, playing piano. She is in love with Ramiro, who reciprocates her love. Ramiro's father (Edmundo), however, is not at all thrilled the son wants to spend his life with the crippled girl. Ramiro was going to marry a swindler, but found out in time that she has deceived several men before, and called the wedding off. Turns out he was going to call it off anyway that day, because he realized he is in love with Ana Laura, which really calls in question the self-righteousness of his outburst at the ex-fiancé in my opinion. Ex-fiancé was heartbroken and apparently killed herself that day. Ramiro found out just as he and Ana Laura were about to profess their love. Ramiro's father asked him to take some time off and go study in England. He complied for who knows what reason, but now he has returned and is determined to marry Ana Laura if she will have him. He confesses his love to her. His father later, however, makes it very clear he is unhappy about it.

Ana Laura is entirely too nice to her sister Ana Leticia. She is very excited about Ana Leticia's arrival, and grateful for her present, even though last time Ana Leticia forgot to bring her one. Turns out that would have been preferable, as Ana Leticia brought her sister a mini-skirt. Ana Laura is appalled and hurt, as she does not wear skirts because of her prosthesis. Ana Leticia apologizes and is forgiven, even though we know this wasn't an accident.

OK. What did you all think?

Which triplet is your favorite?

How has Ana Leticia managed to fool everyone in her household (except the young maid) into believing she’s not the major beyotch she is?

How can an experienced flirt and womanizer like Uncle Mariano not realize his niece Ana Leticia has the hots for him?

How much longer can I/we take Ana Laura’s sniveling? (I mean, this is 2016, she’s rich, she’s cute, she has a great prosthetic leg, she has a guy whom she loves and is in love with her, and she has a family who loves her- minus that bitch sister.)

All in all, I enjoyed these first two episodes. I think Ana Lucia and Santiago/Mauricio are cute together. I’m already annoyed that there is a love triangle between Ana Lucia and her best girlfriend and best guy-friend. Is it really necessary? Did it seem like there were commercials every five minutes during the first hour?

Oh, and Ana Lucia and her BFF are committing some MAJOR crimes of fashion (I excuse their outfits for the festival). I hope someone has already started to keep track. Ana Leticia is skirting the line with some of her outfits. Nice move buying that silver metallic mini-skirt for her sister whom she knows doesn't like showing off her prosthetic leg, and then keeping it for herself. Oops! #mybad, #sorrynotsorry

I wrote Mauricio (Sebastian Rulli) above, but the synopsis calls him Marcelo, and now I can't remember which one it really is. I'll just stick to calling him Santiago. ;)

Fortune teller lady is Chana.

Laisha Wilkins' character is Jenny.

Ana Laura's friends I think are Maribel and Oscar/Orlando/Oscaldo. Not sure what his name is but it begins with an O.

Remedios is the lady who found Santiago/Marcelo.

I don't know what Tio Mariano's booty call was named.

Ramiro's daddy needs to stop hating.

Thanks Vivi, Ria and Anon207 for your synopsis, thoughts, description of the triplets and other info. You were all great! I feel sure I'm going to love this novela.

Ann-NYC

Thanks, Ria for the recap and everybody else for all of the info. What a start!

Ana Leticia reminded me of "The Bad Seed" as a child in that car. Creepy and she hasn't changed.

Uncle Mariano's booty call was Claudia.

The whole uncle Mariano and Ana Leticia relationship just makes my skin crawl.

Hmmmm, the Anas' car accident and Marcelo/Santiago's car accident happened at the same spot twenty years apart.

Vivi, I am right there with you. Ana Laura's crying along with the sad(she insisted it wasn't) music were annoying after a while.

So, what had Marcelo/Santiago discovered about Ana Lucía before he "died"?

It was a fun first two episodes. Angelique Boyer did a an excellent job creating the three Anas.

I am glad to see Vivi, Anon207 and Rio getting into this. I was watching with my mom, and she commented that it was a bit confusing with the 3 sisters.

You all have given good intro to the triplets.

I keep reminding myself of the following.
Ana Laura-lives w her maternal grandma, lost a leg, nice girl, but yes, she always crying. Too often.
Ana Lety-lives with her uncle (wants him) great dresser but was the one who was married to Santiago/Mauricio and probably had alot to do with his accident as he was about to deliver info on the long lost sister to the grandmother, who A Laura lives with.

Ana Lucia-The lost sister. She is Gypsy dressed young woman who is vivacious and believes herself to be the real daughter of woman who is raising her. The woman has told her that they were abandoned by her father. She believes her, but she has dreams and visions of 3 little girls. One day Santiago sees her and remembers her face, but it is A lety's face, his wife, that he remembers.

A Lucias girlfriend is the former friend of "Aldonza." Remember her?? Seems shes playing similar role.

David Zepeda, as Ramiro, is in love with A Laura. When the maid tells A Letie of his interest with A Laura, I picked up on something like A Lety will try to seduce him/take him away from A Laura, just because she can or to be mean. Ramiro's father just might encourage that liasion because he doesnt want A Laura for his son because he is prejudiced against her condition. fool.

I am going to watch till end of week, if I am not hooked by then, I will stop watching. So far A Leticia is like watching Teresa. Watching A Lucia like watching Angelique in "Abismo de pasion."

Looking forward to hearing how everyone received this first episode.

Leticia

Gracias Vivi. I am mearly yet watching the first part. The episode is just that very long.

Lot's of te amos, hugs, flashbacks in it though. I am getting nauseas already.

My favorite triplet is Ana Laura because she suffered the most out of all triplets. Ana Lucia is funny but lame( That dance on the pole probably bankrupted Red Tube) . Ana Leticia is my second favorite.

Santi definetly has Bipolar. First he claims that Madrina is like his mother and that he is never gonna leave her. But then the very next scene he is out looking for his true family. His meetuo with Ana Lucia was effing hilarious, this is definetly not a way to get a girls phone number dude LOL

Ana Leticia is definetly obsessive and clingy already. The most responsible for the accident were definetly the parents. Dad should have kept all of the triplets on chains or built a bulletproff wall between the naughty triplets and the drivers :)

And someone please turn off the annoying background music. I liked the music from Angelli in her previous shows but this music makes me want to push myself over a cliff. The "melancholic" music was the most annoying of all. We already get that Ana Laura is tormented, sad and full of regrets. We don't need the annoying music along the scenes to confirm it .It hurts my ears, it hurts our ears. Es Imperdonable!

I am back and I must say I was not that impressed with the premiere. I liked Santi's chemistry with A Lucia , A Laura ( I might get tired of her wailing soon though) and Laisha. My stomach hurts from all the crying, hugs, te amos, flashbacks and somewhat cliche plots ( Jealousy between Best friends, naive uncle has a lover etc)

I already do not like Ramiro, he shouldn't have left A Laura right after his fiancee killed herself. Leaving a somewhat crippled girl screams selfish to me. What is up with his dad? He only seems to hate A Laura for pure fun of tormenting us and not because of any constructive reasons. Ramiro is around 25 years old so the thought that his father can still manipulate him like a doll baffles me. But then again I have seen the same plot occur many many times already. I am not surprised or shocked at all.

Atleast A Leticia was right about two things . A Laura and the grandmother both need to take a hike.

It's quite convinient that both of the accidents happened on the same place and both were orchestrated by A Leticia. How come no one checked the place out atleast yearly to find new clues ?

Is it even possible of dreaming the same dream everynight? The probability is around zilch .

Sorry for multicommenting but watching the triplets reminds me of previous shows . A Lucia reminds me of Lo Que El Huevo nos Robo , A Laura of Abismo de Horror and A Leticia of Teresa :) I am looking forward to see Pedro Moreno with Boyer.

Just finished watching this online. So far so good. I am really loving the moments between Ana Lucia and Santiago. They make me laugh especially Ana Lucia. I can understand why Ana Laura is always so sad eventhough her crying is a little too much to bare. Ana Leticia sure does know how to make a good entrance doesn't she? She is evil, but she does it well. Bravo to Angelique, can't wait for the next episodes

I saw the first hour and have not had time to watch the second hour or read the recap and comments yet. However, right off the bat, I just want to do a stream of consciousness review. Wow..it is A LOT, isn't it? I love the music and the scenery. The one staircase\livingroom is from Alborada. I am mixing up two of the girls..the tiolover and the other one. Which one was doing the scarf routine in the tree? Rulli just keeps getting handsomer , but I do not care for the slicked back hair. I recognized the girl from Sombra. I am hoping that she isn't quite as perky in this one. Her outfits are...interesting in this novela..... beachwear? I appreciate all the familiar faces. Is DAvid Z. A good guy or a bad guy? Okay...I am off to read the recap and comments. L8R, GATORS.

Missed most of this last night, so thanks al for filling in some character details.

My guess, "uncle" isn't really an uncle? Because otherwise, I know chicka is evil, but that's just gross and not sure I will be happy to see her slobbering after him through episodes.

The bits I saw seemed ok, a return to a more traditional TN, and I have to get use to that again. Just hope we don't fall into too many clichés as we move along. Some of the character descriptions seem on that slippery slope to being same old same old. Let's hope for some creative writing.

Hi, daisynjay. Good to see you here. I think that after reading the recap and comments, I have a handle on the storyline and have the triplets identified. I will need to make some kind of graphic organizer to keep the three ana names straight. Someone has to let CArlos know that his telenovia Lashia is in this show. I have never seen the sikverfox playing tio before.

For information Ramiro Fumazoni( The uncle) starred in the Azteca show "Vivir a Destiempo " in a protagonistic role alongside Edith Gonzalez.

Great recap, Ria! I'll move it up to the main body of the post later when I'm at a computer. If Jane has now given you posting abilities on the blog, I can bow out of helping out. Email me if you need any tips on posting a recap/discussion page. Hopefully, you and the other team members can pin down a schedule. Email each other.

My way of remembering which name belongs to which triplet: Lucia means full of light, and Ana Lucia is lively, happy and vivacious. Leticia sounds dark and sexy to me. Laura is just a normal, kind of dull, though pretty name (no offence to Lauras), perfect for the lonely, shy triplet.

Thanks, Anon 207 and Jarifa, for name clarifications!

Leticia, I agree - some flashbacks to Teresa and Abismo. Ana Laura is the only totally new character. Angelique does a great job with the three though in these first two episodes.

Vivi..thanks for the memory aid for the names.

Thanks, Vivi, Anon207, Rio, and everybody.

I liked David Zepeda (Ramiro) and Ana Laura together. Loved Ramiro sticking it to his fraudulent fiancé. The fiancé was wearing way too much lipstick and eyeliner, so I'm wondering about this supposed suicide.

Glad to hear that Santiago works as a cab driver. From last night, I thought he spent all his time daydreaming about his mystery woman in bed and at parks.

ITA Angelique did a great job. Wow, three sets of men and three sets of makeup and hair --and acrobatics too. I hope her agent got her great pay for this.

On the fashions, I wondered why Ana Lucia's best friend didn't take off her teeny-tiny unbuttoned top and just let all of her black bra show.

With so many characters introduced in a short time period, plus all those flashbacks, it was somewhat confusing.

I do like the fact that many of the actors have appeared in previous TNs, but in different roles. Like the older man with the hat who was with Soledad. I think he played a janitor in one TN, and a crime boss in another.

I missed Eric del Castillo. Did he appear last night? I just realized and verified that he is father to Kate de Castillo, of El Chapo fame.

Ria's debut recap is now up in the main body of the post. Great job, Ria!

GoBlueFan- No, we did not meet Evaristo, Eric del Castillo's character, yet. We also didn't meet our third young man involved with the triplets, Inaki (Pedro Moreno). They're both badies, so when they appear the evil quotient will go way up. Ana Leticia won't have to carry all the evil alone. :)

Did anyone notice that Remedios (Santi's madrina) seems to have an aerobatics school or some involvement with one? When they were talking, just before he went off to the town where he had the accident, there were people practicing behind them. Yet another way Santi and Ana Lucia could connect without even meaning to.

Gracias Ria for the recap. This will be quite an intense week with 2 hour long epiosde( 1 hour and 30 minutes if you cut out the commercials) . The scenes often had predictable dialogue so there wasn't much to watch out for. El Hotel was much more meaner to recap because every dialogue had relevance. In the premiere I felt that a lot of dialogue was pointless. Here are some :

Santi claiming that he loves Remy like his own mother
A Laura's scenes ( Only one glance was necessary to know what her personality is. Only one scene)
The grandmother's teary scene (Again so much pointless dialogue about grieving and resignation blah blah blah)
The card reading scene at the end ( Seriously aren't A Lucia's dreams enough material to find everything suspicious? Doesn't she have free will of her own? What's up with the mumbo jumbo?)
The scene with A Leticia giving a gift to the maid.

2 hour episodes *

Good job, Ria! Thanks for jumping in!

I didn't see all of this and I'm not sure if I'll stick with it, but I didn't hate what I saw.

We sure did meet a lot of different people last night, I wonder if it would have been better to introduce the triplets one hour at a time. (Maybe not, since I was impatient to see all three of them at once.) It might be tricky to keep track. I have already created a cheat sheet to remember which Ana is which.

It was very amusing to briefly see the evil Ariel from LFMB as the girls' father. During LFMB I always fantasized that he'd die in a horrible accident. Ten years later, I finally got my wish!

Countx- Yes, after the biting dialogue in Yo No Creo, the brilliant dialogue in Hotel, and the clever dialogue in Yago, it's hard to get back to this more stylized, cliched dialogue of a tn like this-- especially since I had taken a break from more traditional tns for a while now. Oh well! It is what it is. So far, they've done ok.

So...maybe we will all be learning to do splits while watching g this one.

Vivi in DC, enjoyed the recap more than the episode. Thank you. Now, just by reading the recap, Im going like this one. Those three sisters are about to have an adventure.

That a-leticia, inlove or.....something with her uncle, I agree both are creepy, nastily so. She has psycho tendencies. And the fiance, I got one thing to say to her "run girl, run as fast and as far as your legs can take you. Your fiance has this wierd tic for his neice. RUN!!!!

I wonder about the young man that has a connection with a-lucia from the past. Could there have been another car at The scene of the (crime) crash, that maybe veared out of the way and crashed also? Maybe? We'll see when all the truth start to spill out. Her godmother? Should not have gone to that chana to get her to lie. Im glad she told her what she did about the young man.Cuz you can't keep the truth from coming out. Its like the wind its gonna blow. Shes already meant the young man. Its just a matter of time. I would think she would want her to find out what happened. I wonder what her reasoning Is, and is there money involved? There almost always is.

A-laura, I wonder if shes had any kind of thearpy to her get out of that gray funk shes been in since the crash? Well Maybe not. Their parents must really love the name ana. I know it has a meening but I can't look it up right now, but that's a lot of anas in one family. But if it works for them. Ok.

Thanks Vivi. good recap.

Susanlynn- I only provided the brief intro and short version. New recapper Ria was the one who gave us such a great recap!

I've only dvr'd the episodes so big thanks on the recap!!

If anyone has read the play The Glass Menagerie, the disabled daughter's name is Laura so really works perfectly here.

Susanlynn- Santiago and Ana Lucia are connected because Santiago was/is married to her sister Ana Leticia (evil triplet). He remembers her face and his feelings of love, because he remembers his wife-- the only thing he remembers after his traumatic accident three years ago. If either one of them figures out/remembers their past, then the other's identity will also be revealed. If Ana Lucia learns she came from the rich family and has two identical sisters, she will have an answer for Santi about why he knows her face. If Santi remembers who he is, then he will also be able to tell Ana Lucia who she is (since he was searching for her when he had his accident).

Soledad is just scared that she will lose the love of her daughter if she finds out the truth of who she is, and that Soledad basically kidnapped her and kept the truth from her for 20+ years. That's why she doesn't want Ana Lucia to dig too much into what her dreams mean.

The reason why the trite love triangle between best girl-friends bugs the heck out of me is because these more traditional tns just seem incapable of showing a true friendship between two women that isn't tainted by the desire/love for a man. Now we have to watch Ana Lucia's BFF pout, cry and have attitude with Ana Lucia, all because some guy she likes likes Ana Lucia instead. *sigh* Why can't we just watch two young women be friends through thick and thin without the man drama? I have to say this little side story bugs me more than Ana Laura's crying.

Appearance differences between the triplets:

Ana Laura has straight hair, minimal makeup and neutral manicure

Ana Leticia has hard makeup, very manicured

Ana Lucia has soft makeup and curly/wavy hair.

I believe Tio Mariano is the brother of the triplets' father.

IMO Ana Laura would've been in a funky sad mood if the accident had never happened and her parents lived and Ana Lucia were still there. Ana Leticia would've always overshadowed and bullied Ana Laura.

I don't believe Gina is dead. She's a con artist, remember?

Soledad probably knows the truth about Ana Lucia and doesn't want Chana confirming there are 3 of them

Nina , Laura does have a prosthesis but we don't know for how long she has used it. She also seems to have untreated mental problems that are ignored even by her loving grandmother.

I am going to love when Santi meets all of the triplets. His head will burn with infinite headaches. I imagine this will happen :

Man #1 : I saw Ana dance with an other man
Man #2: Ana stole my dog
Man #3 : Ana is pregnant
Santi : WTF , about which Ana are you talking about ???
Man #4 : Ana Perla of course, who else ?
Santi : Im gonna kill you all!!

Ana Laura mentioned that she recently got a new prosthetic leg which she's still getting used to, and which causes her pain. That's why she was resting without it on.

anon....Thanks...That makeup indicator helps...minimal makeup, hard makeup, soft makeup...kind of a Goldilocks thing....too little, too much, just right. Now, for the three bears.

Perfect Ria. Thanks bunches and with Vivi's synopsis I think I got it.

I like Ana Laura best but hate she loves Ramiro (Zepeda makes my skin crawl) and if a guy is bout to marry another woman and comes back he can keep on crawling.

It will be nearly impossible to tell Lucia from Leticia in the shower. Or pool.

Right now Uncle Mariano is the most interesting character.

I've heard Santiago's pitch before, verbatim. I mean, I've heard that pitch before and it didn't blow my skirt up.

Ria,
Thanks for the recap and thanks to Vivi for posting it.

Oh how I have missed watching Rulli. I think I could have been satisfied just watching him sleep. ITA that I liked his natural hair better than the slick back hair from the flaskbacks.

I liked Boyer's portrayal of the 3 sisters. She did a good job.

Hasta Pronto

Ria, congratulations on your very first recap! I am looking forward to more!

Thank you, Ria. Great recap.

It was a good beginning, though I agree it didn't quite grab my attention like YNCELH, EHDLS, or Yago did. I hope I'm not so spoiled by these awesomely-written TNs that I get bored and/or frustrated too quickly with the Anas. But it might be a good way to decompress my brain, so I'll just go with the flow for now.

I wonder why, if Soledad made the (really dumb) decision to appropriate the terrified, traumatized little girl for herself and raise her as her own, complete with a "your daddy abandoned us" story .... why didn't she take the child's ID bracelet off and change her name? Ana Lucia is not that common of a name and surely she (Soledad) must know that the kid belonged to SOMEONE who would be looking for her! Can't wait for the details on how she pulled this off! No documents for the child? No problem! QQW??

Nick

Vivi, thank you for the great introduction and your hard work into assembling a team to get this going.

Ria, excellent recap! I admire the way you were able to capture the essence of the three sisters so splendidly.

Favorite sister? Ana Lucia.

Agree with everyone who noted Boyer hit it out of the park. She is far from just a pretty face. She made each personality different and distinct.

I agree that Ana's "uncle" must not be her uncle, otherwise, this would be a truly nauseating theme throughout. But, I smiled when she threw him that look at her wedding. Vintage Boyer.

Rulli seems sweet and loveable here, not sexy at all. Not sure how I feel about that? Zepada doesn't do it for me either so...

Nice to see so many friends here.

Diana

Zepeda is sexiest when he's playing a bad boy/boy with bad boy tendencies. I was like "heyyy" when he was playing Bruno (Sortilegio), Ivan (with MerryPiece)(La Fuerza del Destino) and Alonzo (Soy Tu Duena).

But I was like zzzzzz when he played Ivan (with Lucia)(LFDD), Ricardo (with Oriana/Ines)(Mentir para Vivir), Damian (with Elisa)(Abismal Pasion).

I didn't really watch Hasta el fin... when he played Salvador 2.0 so I can't judge him on that one.

David Zepeda has a tight, mean face and he needs to be playing a villano instead of a galan. He's probably the sweetest guy in the world in real life, though.

Ria great recap - way to start out!
___
Jarifa I'm with you I'm already calling Ana Leticia the Bad seed
___
Vivi the bestie love triangle thing is really creeping me out (maybe its just b/c last time I saw the Orlando actor he was evil w/a penchant for weird/creepy sex)
___
Also like tofie, Diana and Anon207 I'm not loving Zepeda as a good guy, oh well*sigh*
___
Nick, Soledad is practically raising AL like a gypsy so I guess if you're free as air you don't need documents? Or hey, maybe they're using the papers for her first daughter, but no that wouldn't work because she had a different name. Hm, will it ever be addressed? Depends on how good the writing is.

___
Ok I think creepy uncle knows the Bad seed is into him in a not niece like way and he digs it in a every woman wants me haha kinda way, but he'll never make a move on her 'cause she's his niece and he's just not into that.

Oh yeah Vivi I did notice the whole 'I'm getting you a present you won't want so I can keep it' thing Bad seed did to her sis. Get the credit for trying and keep the prezzies, what a manipulator.

It's hard to guess how Soledad hid Ana Lucia from authorities. Either someone helped her or the cops are hilariously incompetent. Maybe due to Marcelo's accident the zone near the accident got into the ignore list. But since Angellis novelas don' t hold "small" details like a kidnapping seriously it might never get resolved.

Just like when protagonists stalk his lover down the bushes, forests or watches her bathe naked . That's not stalking, that's research LOL

protagonists stalk their lovers *

I had a sudden inspiration to call the three Anas Flopsy, Mopsy, and COttontail. Rulli can be Peter Rabbit.

Like, some people "look" like they should be playing a certain role. Like Gabriel Soto "looks" like a good guy.

On the other hand, Fernando Colunga "looks" like a bad guy to me so I was amazed Eladio was really his first main baddie role.

David Zepeda just "looks" like a bad guy and the roles I felt he was "sexiest" in were the ones where he was playing a villainous role. Maybe his chemistry meter gets turned off when he plays a good guy.

(although he had more chemistry with the wall than with Lucia in LFDD & I kinda don't blame him for this show because the Lucia actress didn't have chemistry with Gabriel Soto either).

ok Susalynn I get Flopsy would be Ana Laura but which would be Mopsy and which Cottontail?

Or maybe Mopsy is like Mopey and Ana Laura should be Mopsy?

I always thought that William Levy would make a perfect villian but the wish never came true :( . He would be great as an abusive partner. Enchantic women to sleep with him with his demonicly good looking smile.

I can't get into Zepeda because I get such a strong gay vibe from him.

Countx- William did play that kind of character in an episode of Mujeres Asesinas and ends up getting killed for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMl0W2GKBdQ

Thank you Vivi. I don't know how you managed to capture everything from a 2hr episode. Always a stellar recap.

I absolutely adore Angelique Boyer. Ever since Teresa, I'll watch her in anything. But Sebastian Rulli! Oh, be still my middle aged heart! Ay papi, que chulazo! I lose track of the storyline sometimes as I'm staring into his lovely face. Yum! Needless to say, I'm a happy camper with these two in the cast.

Ah yes, Levy as a bad guy in Mujeres Asesinas - I believe he called himself "Fonzie" which drove me crazy. There's only one Fonzie in my book!!

And he was very, very good. Er, I mean he was terrible. He did a very good job of playing terrible!

Speaking of actors who usually play nice characters, Lucero was a WONDERFUL villain in MEPS.

I think every nice-character actor should play a bad guy once in a while. It's always fun and they seem to enjoy it. This triple-role should be a blast for AB if it doesn't wear her out!

Okay..I am thinking that with that head of hair , Leticia is Mopsy. As you suggested, LAura can be FLopsy..since she seems to flop around having a sad most of the time. Then , that leaves Cottontail for the third girl...I have already forgotten her name. I have enough trouble remembering my students' names in real life.I love the beach scenes. IT feels like a minivaca. I think I'll wear my flip-flops and watch with a piña colada tonight. p. S. Autocorrect kept changing FLopsy to Floozy and Bloody.

Juan Carlos Barreto played a nice guy role recently as Lupe from El Hotel. But as a villian, he is a complete monster. It's as if it was his different persona! His roles in Para Volver A amar and Yo No Creo shocked me.

What is the name of the actor who played a good guy in Pasion as Captain Rick's bff and a very bad guy\pimp in LM ? He was believable both roles. i loved to love him, and I loved to have him.

Susalynn that was Alberto Estrella. He was also a hootie BSC in Entre El Amor Y Odio

The beginning had me interested, but then I lost focus. I think that I just can't devote brainpower to 3 TN's. If there were weekly, I could do it with ease. Five nights a week is too much especially since I decided to stick to Yago (Camino is awesome).

I just wanted to stop by and say hello!

thanks, Count.

As for good guys\bad guys, Fernando Colunga started out as the villain in Poder y Pasion, but he ended up as the hero.

Oh dear, autocorrect :P
Well, now its too late, I'm already thinking of A Laura as Mopey and A Leticia as Bad seed but I still need a good name for the free spirit third twin

Oh wow Wm Levey as a bad guy??!? I'm gonna have to watch that! Thanks Vivi

Great work, Ria. Opening episodes are a major responsibility and you took on a double!

We're going to be loaded with cliches here but at least we have a good cast to handle them.

Soledad didn't report finding Ana Lucia because she was too broken up about losing her own daughter. I'm assuming she is either a widow or a woman abandoned by the man who knocked her up back when, so that factors into her grief. Interesting that Ana Lucia is the healthiest one psychologically.

I will never understand this kind of naming. Can someone explain it, por favor?

Angelique is already knocking it out of the park. I think she enjoys playing the bitchy one most. It is more fun.

Another cliche to add: A fountain in front of every main family mansion.

Thanks for all your kind words, everybody! I enjoyed writing my first recap. Sorry if I am not on here more during the day, but I rarely get a chance to log in here before evening with my schedule!

Really enjoyed reading through all the comments, I think we'll have all these characters straight soon! Urban Anthropologist, Nick and Count, I too am curious about Soledad's keeping of Ana Lucia with no documents, under her real name of Ana Lucia. Putting on a telenovela reality hat!

For this evening's recap I will post a discussion summary page and Sneaky2shoes will be our recapper for the evening and she will post her recap tomorrow!

....and staircases of DOOM.

UA..about the names, GEorge Foreman named ALL his sons George.

I agree that Angie is doing a great job. She is an itty bitty, teent tiny dynamo.

I remember that. Egomaniac.

Did Angelique have her implants removed? I remember her as being more voluptuous.

Wow! Great job Ria and great job Anguelique!

I did not expect her to make me like the triplets but I found them very enjoyable.

The story is a bit cliched but I really got captured by it and as I said, by Angueliques performance.

Im getting kind of tired of seeing her paired up with Rulli though and good guy Zepeda does nothing for me, so I'm hoping for Moreno and Boyer to deliver together.

I liked how Ana Laura was portrayed. I know shes going to be the typical llorana but at the same time she was really sweet and made me feel for her. I hope she doesnt dwell on her dysabilty throughout the show though. That will get tiring :/

Thanks again for the great recap! It is very greatly appreciated :)

Sneaky twoshoes, I hope your right about uncle guy not being into his neice. That would be so messed up. Cuz she's screwed up enough thinkin that way about her uncle. Weirdos!!!
