Tres Veces Ana #31: Murderess Most Foul and A Murder Most Fouled

Part 1:

Once again we’re ogling poor Jennifer’s descent sans benefit of parachute as Ana Leticia looks on.  (According to The Splat Calculator at a body weight of say, 120 lbs., poor Jennifer’s fall from grace was the equivalent of being hit by a car going approximately 77 mph.  ¡QEPD! )  A-Mimi, her feet back on solid ground once more, looks over her handiwork and drives off.  Ho. Hum.  And meanwhile…..

Mariano’s sexratary, Adriana, reports she’s been unable to reach his fiancée on either her cellular or at the house.  It all goes to voice mail/ the recorder.

In Orlando’s hospital room, Evaristo gives our bruised and contused Orly back his cell phone –sans any files having anything to do with Ana Lucía.  He warns our scared little   suffering shakedown artist in training that the phone can now be traced by Ev’s tracking devices and so he’ll always be able to keep tables on him and his calls.  To be certain that Orly keeps mum, he’s got his grandson there as his personal bodyguard.

At the same time, Santiago and the other architect Jen was supposed to meet with arrive at the job site.  The guy tells Santi that he understood she was engaged to be married.  Santi figures she thought he’d died or deserted her and it makes sense.  They turn towards the entrance to the building and see Jen laid and splayed like a rag doll.  Santi races over to her.  She gains consciousness momentarily.  “—It’s you!  Marcelo!!”  He has a few seconds to register that she knows him as Marcelo Salvaterra with a flashback to the visit to Iñaki’s new digs and his question to SanMarco if that name sounded familiar to him.  Well it does now!

At the same time, Valentin is remembering Mariano and the last time he confronted him –with a gun—blaming him for having destroyed his life.  Ana Laura is at The Realty Place to chat with her uncle and wants TinTin to meet him with her, lying that he has another appointment to get to.  He begs off.  She gives him the use of her driver and goes inside.

Back at the construction site, the architect is trying to raise a signal on the cell to call an ambulance but there is no signal.  Just then a shot rings out and the guy is wounded in the gut.  SanMarco escapes into the building and is pursued by the two other gunmen there.

At TRP, Ana Llora doesn’t have a chance to tell Mariano her friend, TinTin;s, last name cuz at that instant she meets Yaki,  Yaki sweet talks her and chats her up and then later suggests to his brother, J that J. should marry A Llora for her money and then they’d both be rich as lords—his life’s ambition.

At the job site, SanMarco shakes off the jitters and his alter-ego takes over.  He becomes the fast-thinking, quick-moving man of mystery and adventure he was in the earlier life. He grabs a nail gun off a nearby bench, uses it to wound and then shelter himself behind one of his pursuers, grabbing his gun from him, as the guy takes all the bullets meant for him.  He shoots the other gunman in the knee, races back down and outside the building where he notes the dead Jen is.  He looks over to the car and sees the bleeding architect lying against the back wheel.  He gets the guy’s keys, throws him into the back seat and races off towards civilization.  However, he’s not quick enough and the guy dies before he makes it out of the back beyond.  SanMarco decides to change his clothes, puts on the backpack and then hikes back to his hotel.

At the same time, A Mimi is drinking a glass of wine in First Class on the airplane headed back to Mexico City.  She’s remembering the conversation she had with Jen that led to her pushing Mariano’s threat of a fiancée off the edge of that building.  Jen was excited for her because it meant Marcelo was alive and kicking!  But that was the problem!  It meant her life would be falling all to pieces again.  She babbles excitedly in an explanation that Jen does not grasp.  “If Santiago hasn’t shown his face these last three years it’s because he knew exactly what I did.  He must be planning his act of revenge against me!”  “—What are you talking about?”  “I was hoping it would only be about a trick that Evaristo planned.  Jen mentions Ev was there a couple days earlier, looking for him, and trying to HELP him.  Did he mention A Mimi?  Sure, they talked about her.  A Mimi loses it again and screams she couldn’t ever trust her!

Jen just doesn’t understand the problem.  A Mimi flies into a murderous rage—literally.  “—I know you better than you know yourself, Jennifer!  You can’t stand me!  I can see it in your face, every time you hug me or tell me how much you care about me!  You haven’t the strength to disguise your jealousy of me.  I am so stupid not to see how you and Evaristo would join forces against me!  The perfect means of getting my uncle to stop caring about me, to rob me of him and of his love for me!”  Jen threatens to blab to Mo about this latest temper tantrum but then A Mimi grabs Jen by the arms and starts to push at her.  “—Your not going to tell him anything!”  They struggle and she eventually pushes Jen over the edge.
end part 1~~
=====================
Part 2~~

Gun Guy #1 calls Ev to make his not so encouraging report at the scene.  Ev says clean up your mess, Don’t touch Jen’s body though--and don’t leave a trace of Beltran, or the shell casing, or themselves.  Then go search the hospitals for the wounded architect.

AMiMi gets drunker and we see that she hated the fact that her lame sister and the little lost lamb, if found, were probably going to inherit more than she was from Granny.  Marcelo was determined to find A Lucky and he thought she was alive; so she was having him offed.  She thought herself as having pulled it off beautifully but then found she was mistaken cuz ALucky was/is dead.  So Ooops! She did all this in vain!  It was then too late to stop the attempt at Marcelo’s murder. (Win some, lose some, girlfriend.)  He was the only man who could make her forget what she felt for Mo.  Yep, she’s a sickie and that’s why Jen had to sprout angel wings or else.  Else took precedence.  No way A MiMi was lettin’ Jen take Mo’s luhhhhv away from her!  Oh how she hated Jennifer getting in her way!

Meanwhile, that night, while A Lucky isn’t feeling it, SanMarco makes it back to the little hotel and gets cleaned up.  He starts having flashback to the old Marcelo in the mirror.  He thinks back to the smooth moves he made and the sure way he seemed to handle that semi-automatic pistol poppin’ while making his escape from those killers who’d been hunting him.   Hmmm.  Almost scary…almost.  So who is he?  Obviously not Beltran—Marcelo Salvaterra?

At the same time, back in the DF, A MiMi arrives late and gets scolded—slightly—by naive Ernestina.  AMiMi lies that she was showing property all day, sneers orders to Leonora, and then goes upstairs to have a chat with A Llora.
Mo tries to reach Jen but gets only her VM.

AMiMi asks A Llora after Tío Mo.  He’s been walking on clouds waiting for Jen to come up for the wedding.  Oh, what a great and powerful couple—her constructing buildings and him selling them.  Mr. and Mrs. Owner of The Realty Place.  What about her new partner, this Iñaki she met today?  “--Ah!  He’s just a peon!  I am an owner of the place.” A Llora corrects her; she’s only the niece of the owner and it’s not quite the same.

That night as A MiMi cleans the makeup off her face, careful to smear the lipstick just so, she remembers the satisfying sensation of seeing Jennifer falling to her death, and then wonders in a panic where Marcelo is.

Why, he’s still in his hotel room remembering Yaki talking about Marcelo Salvaterra and his wife having lived in the apartment prior.  “--And what was her name?”  “--Ana Leticia.  Ana Leticia Alvarez del Castillo.”  Viewerville begins to wonder if SanMarco may have half a brain in addition to all that beefcake of his.

Back at the manse, A Llora comments to Leonora that she’s been feeling anxious for her other sister, A Lucia.  She’s certain her sister is going through some kind of separation trauma.  No, says Leo.  It’s more likely ALlora is feeling the separation from Ramiro, who Leo knows is the love of her life.  Across town, in Midtown, A Lucky is upset that Santi wouldn’t promise her he was coming back; Mama Soledad tells her to think positive thoughts.  (Ohhhhmmmmm!)

SanMarco makes a trip to the public library in town and starts looking up a few names on a free computer there.  The first one of them is Marcelo Salvaterra.  There he is and in the society pages, to boot!  The next name is Ana Leticia Alvarez del Castillo.  He sees the two of them in a photo together—and it’s the spitting image of A Lucky, only in much more expensive threads……

That was a hell of an episode.

Santiago made several mistakes that could land him in the slammer, which may or may not please Evaristo, who clearly tried to whack him. Ana Leticia is beyond being a psychopath. Jenny will not be her first victim.

Excellent Part One Jardinera. Can't wait for the rest.

That was some episode, and yeah, UA, I thought the same watching Santi. Hello....fingerprints dude! At first I was thinking, oh good, someone is with him, but that didn't last long.

All I'll say is now we do know AnaLe is BS Crazy. That mirror scene? The lipstick? Woooo.

He warns our scared little suffering shakedown artist in training that the phone can now be traced by Ev’s tracking devices and so he’ll always be abl to keep tables on him and his calls.

Some more wonderful, snarky alliteration from our fab recapper.

Yes indeed, a blockbuster, horrible episode. Ana Leticia combining the best of narcissism, incestuous bonding and rampant homicidal tendencies. In case we didn't get it, yes her lipstick is smeared all over, like a wild animal dripping blood. Okay. We DO understand.

Meanwhile, Ana Laura, still in her cozy feel-good psychic cocoon, trills to Iñaki that Ana Leticia seems tough but she wouldn't hurt a fly. Uh, nooooo.

Thanks Jardinera. Always a pleasure.

I don't understand Jardinera, what does A Mimi stands for (instead Ana Leticia)? Thanks for recap. Sorry about my (poor) English.

Thanks, JArdinera...and may I just say...YIKES. I am slow!y backing away from CRaycray BadAna. Has Granny not taught her to blot her lipstick ? I always get a kick out of her tiny lipsticked pout .

Rulli has matured ..fine wine. Children born of those two would be verra cute, indeed.

No guarantee of that, Susanlynn. Two attractive people can still produce an ugly child.

Gooe work, Jardinera.

I think "A Mimi" means Ana Me Me ME! Everything is about her and what she wants, which is everything that anyone else has. I have been wondering whether Mariano was adopted, but socially that doesn't matter. This would still be emotional incest. When is anyone gong to catch her coming on to him?

Is the gun used to kill Jenny the one that Santiago's fingerprints are now on? And I messed up in my first post: Jenny will not be Ana Leticia's only victim.

Wow, what an action-packed episode indeed!

Thanks for the great recap, Jardinera! Looking forward to part 2!

Urban, Ana Le is beyond psycho indeed. How cold-bloodedly she went from pushing Jenny off the building to sitting in an airplane remembering the scene and sipping on a glass of wine. And then later on - cheerfully cozying up to granny asking her to love her forever.
On your fingerprint question - Jenny wasn't actually shot. And, daisynjay, I was thinking about fingerprints too when I was watching this. Looks like Ev's hit men will take care of it for him - he instructed them to erase all fingerprints of Santi and their own, and leave Jenny's body alone, so when found they will think she just fell off.

And for a final kicker - how about Santi finally googling some of those names and realizing his name is Marcelo Salvaterra and his wife Ana Le is Ana Lu's twin. What will he do with this info now - tell Ana Lu? Look for Ana Le? I hope not the latter...

Jardinera, thank you for your wonderful part 1!

Very enjoyable episode!

Santiago is getting systematically boxed in. No easy exit for him from Costa Paraíso.

Orlando's reaction to being left with one of Evaristo's grandsons in case he "needed something" or so he would not "feel all alone" was priceless. Ha! Ha!

Ana Leticia finally said it: " only in Marcelo's arms could she forget everything her uncle made her feel". Yikes!

That is all for now.

What a great episode! Now, we're cooking! Thanks for the superb recap, Jardinera. I didn't see Jenny get shot. In any case, even though Ev is having his henchies clean the crime scene, I still feel like he can frame Marcelo for one of these deaths.

I was so happy to see Marcelo finally use Google/Busco to look up the two names he already had from long ago. FINALLY!

Oh, really? And how long would that have lasted?

It will be interesting to see the progress of the recovery of Marcelo's memory. It won't all come back at once. He seems to have the same type of amnesia as Juan did in FELS, which is the result of a combination of injury and psychological trauma.

Doesn't one need a license to become a private eye? Shouldn't that require fingerprints? That would be an easy way for him to recover his identity. However, I'm sure he still doesn't remember what a bitchy narcissist Ana Leticia is and he will probably run into her before he remembers. I don't think he had a clue yet as to how dangerous she is.

Jardinera, this was an excellent recap.

My hands down favorite was your superb title "Murderess Most Foul and A Murder Most Fouled". Perfect...

Orlando's physical bruises will eventually heal but he is now a virtual prisoner of and (even worse) at Evaristo's mercy. A very harsh, cold, unrelenting position to be in. I'm sure Orlando rues the day he ever tried to profit by learning Soledad's secret.

The pace appears to be picking up and the action is a welcome respite from Ana Laura's mewling and Ana Leticia's evil machinations. She is disturbed on so many levels.

Marcelo continues to be in grave danger and even though he has his wits about him, Evaristo's arm is long (think Godfather) and he is in imminent danger.

Have only been able to watch sporadically and have many recaps to catch up on. Thank you to all of the recappers for your time and effort.

Jardinera, thank you so much.

Diana

Orlando will probably be paranoid for the rest of the story. The only good in that is he might leave Ana Lucia alone.

He also needs to lose that compromised phone and get a new one, but I'm not sure how he can do that.

Thanks, Jardinera. Great recap.

Yay, Santi discovers the internet and who he is.

Oh no, Ramiro has more competition for Ana Laura.

Sorry. I guess it was the architect only who got shot and I forgot to CBA he that.
So I am a!so g!ad SanMarco is thinking again and now tracking down his true identity and that of perhaps Jen and the real wife. Maybe he will try Evaristo and start researching the whole clan to finally learn who he really has fallen in love with and Sole's reasons for flight a d fear of him.

I agree that he will fall under the spell of his true trillesa wife's power for all the misguidedly correr reasons a Galen does while we pull out our hair in the meantime.

That was erase the reference to Jen being shot!

Thanks, Jardinera, the second part was as good as the first!

And "correct reasons". Auto correct can be a waste at times!

Hi, DIana... "mewling and machinations "...haha...perfecto..that would have made a more accurate title! Grin;-)

Jardinera, thx for the recap, it was even more exciting than the tn.

When ALet MiMi smeared her lipstick it was eerily similar to Bette Davis's character in "Whatever happened to Baby Jane."

I think we all see writing on the wall, once MiMi discovers Marcello lost his memory and isn't seeking revenge, she will keep him at all costs. I don't think it will be a pretty sight when Santi/Marc finally opens his eyes to the monster that she is.

Leticia

Just fyi - no episode today. Hope everyone is having a nice 4th!!

Confession:

Lately I've become addicting to True Crime stuff on YouTube. I have the feeling, based on what I saw this morning, that Ana Leticia is somewhat inspired by Vera Renczi.

Just watched the last two episodes!! Thanks for the awesome recaps!!!

Finally Santi googling himself. Thought it would never happen. I hope he spends some time at the screen and finds out about the 3 sisters, his life etc.

I'm very interested to see how Mariano reacts to Jenny's death. I'm not sold on him.

Inaki is the worst kind of fortune hunter, not a hard worker or good at decision making. He'll end up like Orlando and ruing his choices.

Yes Carvivlie, I agree about Inaki. I think he would have potential if he wasnt a gambler and dissing his father and economic standing. If he would roll up his sleeves to work hard, but nooo.....He is a fool who wants a short cut to wealth fast, by marrying for money. He is a big LOSER.

Leticia

Thanks, Jardinera. These recaps are more valuable than ever now that I'm not watching the show during Yago's exile.

Funny how the show got good just after I stopped watching. Pbththt. :-P

Orlando can get a second phone and still make private phone calls with that, right? He doesn't have to ditch the first phone to do that.

So glad Santi knows about the Internet. It's bizarre when characters don't take advantage of the modern conveniences in an age when so many people seem totally absorbed in their smartphones.

Was there an episode last night?

"Orlando can get a second phone and still make private phone calls with that, right? He doesn't have to ditch the first phone to do that." Yupp. Of course, the original screenplay for the tn may have been written before we had that as an option and these writers are possibly ignoring that cuz it's easier to do it that way..........IMNSHO.

Try finding the original on Youtube or Wikipedia to check the date?? I thought about it but got waylaid.

Urban- No. There was no Ana on last night.

Jardinera- Lazos de Amor, the original version, was done in 1995, so no one was using a cell phone, much less using two of them, to thwart villains.
