Caray, Caray!

Thanks in advance, Sneaky. Great performance last night by Angelique Boyer trying to hide her joy when uncle Mariano tells the family about Jennifer's death and her anger when the rest of the family decides to accompany uncle Mariano to Costa Paraíso and she knows she will not have him all for herself. Finally, Santiago has a more than a hint of the mess he is involved in. This has really taken off!
 

ITA, Jarifa. Things have really gotten interesting now that Marcelo/Santi knows who he is, even if he doesn't yet have his memory back. He's in a tough spot, in more ways than one. He knows he's in grave danger, with people out to kill him. He knows who his real wife is and that he must have loved her very much. He knows Ana Lucia is the missing sister of his wife (and therefor that Soledad is a kidnapper). And he's utterly confused, because he doesn't know which sister he really loves, or if he's in love with them both. But at least he's thinking and taking action. Was so glad to see him immediately link what he'd learned with what Inaki told him, and call Inaki to get his Costa Paraiso home address and break in. Will he reveal himself to Ana Leticia if he sees her in Costa Paraiso?
 

I feel very bad for Santiago/Marcelo because while he may know the documents, he doesn't know the dynamics. I doubt that he remembers very much yet; he certainly hasn't yet remembered that he went off on a search for Ana Lucia and -- more imoprtantly -- that Ana Leticia didn't want him to find her. He can't possibly know yet that Ana Leticia has a thing for her Uncle Mariano.

However, he should not have called Ana Lucia until he figured out what to tell her. What happened last night will only add fuel to Soledad's fire.

Watching AnaLe hanging all over Dear Uncle last night was just disturbing and creepy. I had to keep reminding myself that the family doesn't see her the same way we do...plus she's been allowed to be the spoiled, pretty one for so long that her whole demeanor is just accepted. but...yuk.

Even though Santiago/Marcelo doesn't know about the sister search, he now knows Ana Lucia has 2 identical sisters (he also saw Ana Laura while peeping through the door).

I wonder if he will have the sense enough NOT to reveal to anyone that he knows Ana Lucia has 2 identical sisters.

My hope is that he will put FOOGLE to use before he does anything else:

FOOGLE "Marcelo Salvaterra" and find out about himself*

FOOGLE "Marcelo Salvaterra death" and find out the circumstances of how he "died."

FOOGLE "Ana Leticia Alvarez del Castillo" and find out about his marriage to Ana Leticia.

FOOGLE "Ana Lucia Alvarez del Castillo" and find out the circumstances of Ana Lucia's disapperance

Put 2 + 2 together and figure out that Soledad kidnapped Ana Lucia and this is why she is so frightened of him

If he's smart, he will keep pretending to be "Santiago Garcia" and keep this information to himself.

Am I understanding correctly that Marcelo/Santiago and Jennifer are/were cousins? What is Jennifer's brother's name? We know Marcelo's dad's name is Facundo.
 

Anon207- On this show, the search engine is called BUSCO (I love it!), and Mar/Santi did look up all that stuff. He now knows all of it. But the articles can't tell him that his wife is a BSC beyotch who arranged to have him killed. He'll have to wait for his memories to come back to get a fuller picture of things. If anything, the articles only show him that he had a storybook romance and marriage with Ana Leticia, and that she was heartbroken over his "death". Yes, from the sound of it, Marcelo and Jennifer (and her brother) are cousins. Either that, or their families are close enough for Jenn's bro to call Marcelo's dad "Uncle." Now we know why Jennifer and Marcelo were so close.
 

I think Marcelo should look for his father and only reveal himself to him right now.
 

Marcelo needs to find out this information before he does anything, including reaching back out to Ana Lucia.

I struggle to stay awake during this show and miss a lot.

Good thought, Vivi. He has no way of knowing that Remedios found those newspaper articles and was probably hoping she would answer the phone when he called. He can't go home just yet, but he shouldn't show himself to either of Ana Lucia's sisters until he knows more about this. He should also consider the possibility that Evaristo knows a lot more than he admits to.
 

Urban- I'm sure he knows Evaristo is a big fat liar at this point, since Evaristo is the one who lied about Jenny being his wife. He might not realize Ev is the one who sent the killers after him, but I'm sure he must suspect.
 

Part 1

(Events are in the order in which I remembered them, not necessarily the order in which they happened, hope that's not confusing)

Santiago searches the internet and finds out all the things we already know with pictures that prove his name was Marcelo Salvaterra and he was married to Ana Leticia Alvaro del Castillo who was one of triplets, one of which is missing. Later he calls FreeSpirit and doesn't say anything while she cries and imagines the worst then he says perdoname and hangs up on her, leaving her to cry and imagine the worst some more. Next he calls Inaki, him he actually does talk to, asking for his old adddress in Costa Pariso. Sure thing bro.


Ramiro and Inaki meet in the elevator and chat bout BadAna and Llora and how different they are, then Inaki bums a ride to work off Ramiro, just so we remember he's Inaki.


At work Ramiro gets the loan from his boss as a reward for helping get the land sale w/Isidro to go through, doesn't tell boss what he wants the $$ for. Calls Orlando so they can meet and exchange $ for proof. Orlando tries putting him off till he can heal some, but Ramiro is in a hurry, and surprisingly not dumb enough to give the $ w/o getting the proof first. Evaristo is listening in on Orlando's half of the call and tells him he'll set up a way to make the exchange w/o meeting, Orlando can keep the cash as long as he gets the mouse to the mousetrap.


Remedios is looking thru the box o' secrets when Sole knocks on her door wanting to talk about her missing box, that had important papers in and money and you know birth certificates and stuff. Remedios suggests she go to the police but of course Sole doesn't want to do that, oh well.


Abue calls up the doc's wife to chat bout old flame and finds out he was out of town buying property to build a resort hotel on.

TioM stops by w/the news of Jenny's death. Then he calls the office to ask his secretary to get him on the nxt flight to Costa P. The secretary is so sad for him she has to go to the bathroom to cry and tell the mirror how much she loves her boss, so Inaki can get into her computer while she's gone and look up the address Santiago asked him for.
Back at the mansion of tears there's lots of them going around as Abue, Leonore, Llora and Bad Ana grieve tioM's loss, some genuinely, and one not so much. When his secretary calls back w/his flight info, the girls and Abue insist on going w/him. BadAna tells him she'll be w/him in his time of need just like he was for her, she'll never, never, never leave him w/a big hug and her grinning delightedly behind his back.

Meanwhile doc and wife are discussing arranging a casual meeting between Abue and her old flame at TioM's wedding. (back to the drawing board guys)


FreeSpirit is still crying over Santiago's phone call of implied doom and Sole tries to comfort her.


Llora calls the foundation friend to tell her she's going out of town for Jenny's funeral. Foundation friend tells Valentin, who's sitting in her office when she gets the call and he acts like a huge jerk about Llora not telling him personally and basically says TioM got what he deserved. (not the best move if he wants foundation friend on his side IMO)


Leonore takes the opportunity while the fam is away to meet Ramiro at the manse (which is much less teary now for some reason) and they catch up w/ea other.


Santiago gets to his old house, its pretty swank and he's pretty surprised. Either he's getting his PI/super spy memories back, or their security is crap b/c its way too easy for him to break in. He finds a photo of him and BadAna and seems to realize for the first time he's involved w/two sisters.(think he'll try a threefer?) Meanwhile FreeSpirit is sadly remembering their meeting and crying and telling herself he was never hers to begin with. Oh dear.


 

Part 2 (the last part)

Jenny has a brother and he's all broke up about her death. BadAna tries to be comforting w/him, w/mixed results, Apparently Marcelo's dad is Jenny and her brother's uncle and he's way sad. Abue and Llora discuss how strong and brave BadAna's being - its cause she's all grateful to tio for being there for her when Marcelo died and wants to do the same for him. Right.


For some reason Sue's friend feels the need to tell her about Jenny's death, even though they've never met.


Ramiro confronts Valentin, they have to talk (next time apparently)


Remedios confronts Sole and demands the truth, but fails to specify about what. If Sole lies she'll kick her out.


Santiago wanders all over his ex house, he sprays some perfume and it spurs a memory of BadAna trying her new perfume out on him. Then the woman herself and Llora arrive at the house to freshen up before heading back to the funeral. They mention Marcelo's dad's sorrow. Santiago "hides" in a closet and watches them thru the not remotely shut door.

Will they look over and see him? Probably not, but come back next time to find out for sure.









 

I'm actually kinda surprised/impressed at how fast Santiago is putting things together, despite his not getting all his memory back yet, usually in the shows I've seen, the amnesiac is totally clueless till everything comes back all at once and then they know everything. I like it.
I think S has written off everything Ev told him now, it seems like he's only relying on info he finds himself

Vivi - I liked the Busco search engine too :) and yeah I thought Valentin showing his true colors would set off major alarms for her but she acted like it was nothing.

Anon207 - I'm hoping Santiago will have the sense to keep quiet about what he knows till he knows more too


Daisynjay- I too just shake my head when BadAna's fam acts like her behavior is normal. *sigh*
 

A "threefer"! Sneaky, you are baaaaaad! Thanks for the recap. Haven't seen all of this episode yet, but Ana Leticia sliming all over Tio Marcelo at the mansion was more than I could bear. Not good for the digestion.

Great recap if a pretty good episode. At last things are moving along. I loved the way Santi was able to find out so much in so little time. I feel bad for AnaLu. I hope Santi doesn't hook up with BadAna.
