Tres Veces Ana # 43
Recap added below!
Yes.
Labels: ana
When it comes to the near-misses I think this episode takes the prize.
Perfect description Vivi. This TN would have served up so much better as a satire or dark comedy. Think about it, we'd be a on the floor laughing and it would finally make sense why we are seeing all these will she/won't she, in the door/out the door, and "woe is me" weeping moments. Heck, we even have clowns!
At least we had one plot forward moment with AnaLu and Ramiro. I can just see the writers room "so what bone do we throw the viewers in episode 43?"
What did Lucia expect. The guy is MARRIED
Tofie, if Lucia and Laura obeyed you it would make no difference in the long term. No matter whom they get interested in AnaMeMeMe would go after them just to poison the relationships. Neither of them would be safe from this. Santiago should have taken Inaki's advice to grab Ana Lucia and head far away. The only thing that would stop this is death or incarceration.
Agree Anon 9:41. Gosh I hope Ana Laura doesn't see Ram and Let together. Her crying will do me in.
Vivi, I liked your analogy..Threes Company with weeping.
I confess that I am liking INaki. Which Ana is he in love with ..HOttotrotana or BLueana?
whoa...what was up with RAm falling for TRampyana of the disappearing clothes? Yikes on that . I wonder how RUlli feels about those scenes.
P.s. THat forehead necklace that Freebirdana wears would drive. Me. Crazy.
Ramiro pulled Ana Leticia into that embrace to distract her because she was threatening to go search the other bedroom-- where SantMarc and Ana Lucia are. It worked. But it also means he now can't get rid of her since she's convinced she can entice him into bed now.
As for Outlander, readers of the series are often outraged by changes that the writers have made in the story, but most of them lov ed the final episode despite the changes that were made in the storyline. my favorite part was the goodbye at the stones and that slow backward dance. (IT did not happen that way in the book, but it was still beautifully done. ) IT gave me a sad . Have you read the book series? Do you know what will happen in season three (Voyager)? Get ready...it is good.
tofie...have you been doing any of your lists for Tres ANas? I love your lists!!!
Off topic: I have not read the Outlander books, and each time I read one of the book readers whining about the changes the show has made, I'm less inclined to read them (at least until after the series has ended). I think the show is fantastic. I too loved that little dance to the stones. The only thing that was "off" to me was the actress who played Bri. Too shrill, too bratty, too NOT-Bostonian. She needs to work with an accent coach.
Anonymous...Perhaps they are just teasing us, and RAm will snap out of Meme's spell and come to his senses.
OT....Vivi..Bree is supposed to look like JAmie, and I think she does..the deep set eyes, the nose, the cheekbones, the hair although some fans do not agree .However, the young actress is English, and I did not think her American accent was good at times..a bit shrill. Most ofthe actors are English or Scottish. Some fans want the Bree role recast. I thought she was good in some scenes and not so good in others. She is young and will get comfortable in the role. The casting for this show has been outstanding. If you want to read diehard book fan opinions, check out Compuserve Outlander. I hang out there everyday, but I do not comment. The folks there remind me of my pals here at caraycaray. ..smart, funny, insightful. I do comment at Outlandish Observations where recaps are given of each episode.
It was so frustrating to see Ramiro allow Ana Let to try and seduce him, I know he was keeping her away from Ana Lu but still! And Ana Let has no dignity, she really is sick, she is so obsessed with having everyone love her and for men to desire her. Angelique is doing an amazing job!
Santicelo (thanks Ria) remembers BadSeed talking about how much she misses him, and then his night at the lagoon w/FreeSpirit. He doesn’t know how to explain to FreeSpirit and thinks its better to never speak to her again. (nnkay dude, I’m sure that’ll work out juust fine)
TioM gets the news that Sue is dropping the case. (lots o’ words here little actual plot mvmt)
At the office BadAna laughs at Inaki’s bruises and tells him he’s wasting his time w/her, she’ll never love anyone, ha ha. TioM comes by to tell BadAna he wants to go somewhere alone so of course she insists on going with, leaving her key in the drawer lock. Instead of snooping, Inaki gives it to the secretary to give back (I would’ve snooped) (and then given the key to the secretary to give back)
Sole gets the job and the news that the job has to move, but she can work from home and the wages are better than she expected, and she gets an advance w/o asking and stays to help pack up.
Badana acts like a spoiled teen when she learns they’re going to visit Sue – ‘whyyy, its soo boring’ and she ditches him to “go have coffee w/a friend” Getting to the shop to look for Sue, TioM interrupts the packing and scares Sole w/his name
Apparently “coffee w/a friend” is code for drinking wine w/Inaki and mocking his lack of furnishings, she doesn’t look like she believes him when he says he special ordered from a designer and they’re taking a while to arrive. FreeSpirit is at the door, she wants him to help her find Santiago, Inaki ends up holding the door shut from the outside so BadAna doesn’t see Analu while he spins some yarn about a super crazy jealous girlfriend. Then he rushes her into the elevator to take her up to Ramiro’s place. The doors shut just before BadAna can get a look. The bad Seed is not amused, when he gets back upstairs w/some ridiculously lame story she tells him she doesn’t share her toys.
Ramiro updates Santicelo on Abue’s condition, he thinks she’s doubting what she saw and will soon convince herself she didn’t see anything and that badAna doesn’t know Marcelo is alive, oh and btw when can I meet Analu *ding dong* right this very minute. Ramiro looks at her like he’s in love w/her. Santicelo is less than welcoming and Inaki has to do some very fast talking to explain that the woman downstairs is not, totes not his girlfriend, Analu must have misunderstood him, she’s just a co-worker he doesn’t get along with, ha, more like hate each other, yep definitely hate each other, gotta get back to her, got work stuff to do. When Analu says there’s only one step between love and hate, Inaki babbles about it being a hell of a step and bolts, leaving everyone looking confused.
Since they’ve been friends so long, Abue can tell Leonore she saw Marcelo, and yes she’s sure it was him. They can’t understand why he’d pretend to be dead, why would he do this to all of them, especially BadSeed and Abue remembers BadAna why oh whying at Mariano’s funeral
TioM and Sue make up, he wants to be friends now, she tells him to settle for not enemies y ya. (yeah I know I’m shortening all their scenes into one sentence, but basically that’s all that happened, and also I kinda don’t care about either of these characters)
Sole pumps her co-worker for info on TioM, are they friends, how worried does she need to be? Nope not friends, he’s practically the devil.
BadAna demands Inaki tell her if the weird girl he took upstairs to Ramiro is her sister *gulp* but she means Llora and runs upstairs to see for herself. Inaki calls up to warn them.
Upstairs Analu is tearfully asking what’s going on and Santiago begs her not to make him tell.
Is his wife here she asks? *ding dong* Ramiro suggests they take it in the other room and then stands in the doorway trying to keep BadAna from barging in to look for her sister *gulp* no, yeah, she still means Llora. (I roll my eyes at the writers)
Llora’s ears must have been burning and led her right to Ramiro’s apt. Instead of getting all three in the same apt and somehow still keeping them from seeing each other, Inaki intercepts Llora in the hall and stops her from ringing the doorbell – ‘I just rang it, I think he’s not there’ and takes her upstairs for a glass of water.
Silly Ramiro thought BadSeed would be satisfied checking only one bedroom and to stop her checking the other, gets up in her personal space. Silly Ramiro, it did distract her but now he’s got another problem, she wants him to follow through. He knows though and she doesn’t that her husband and sister are in the next room.
Inaki an d Llora have the ‘hey you’re living in my sister’s old apt convo and then Llora talks up how BadAna loooved Marcelo sooooooooooooooooooo much. She asks him if he’s interested in her sister and he says yes, but he doesn’t know if he can beat the “ghost” of Marcelo. Llora offers to help him win her sister. (I can’t imagine she’ll be much help really, but Inaki is grateful)
Back to sexual tension time w/Bad Seed and Ramiro after she taunts and teases him and much invading of personal space, she slips out of her little dress and stands in front of him in her black undies and matching garter belt. (oooh Inaki would be pissed to be missing this, was it intended for him?)
In the bedroom more tears and asking for explanations and more begging her not to make him explain. They both still love each other, but oh dear, he can’t tell her she’s the only one in his heart.
Did he see his wife?
Yes
Does she have the same tattoo as him?
Yes
Does he remember her
Only bits and pieces
But he remembers that he loved her?
Yes
Does he still love his wife?
Yes.
Analu hugs Santicelo and cries.
Fade out.
I'm at the Inaki table too, he's the most fun we're going to get out of this show, though I like your idea Vivi about Three's Company and Ramiro pretending to be gay, though it'd never work BadAna would just think she could turn him straight
Susalynn welcome back my ideal ending right now would involve BadAna hitting Ramiro w/a car and taking him out of the running and then driving off a cliff and Inaki can end up w/Llora,(any girl that sure that only a fortune hunter could love her deserves one for real) and Santiago never gets his memory back and has a happy middle class life w/FreeSpirit. The writers though have this Inaki+BadAna Ramiro+Llora and Santiago+FreeSpirit/BadAna
Back later when I have more time
All the near-misses were funny, but I hope this madness doesn't go on much longer.
I'll probably miss a lot more episodes/pieces of episodes once they start showing two hours at a time, but I really don't want to miss AnaLet meeting Santicelo, or AnaLu meeting her sisters.
Some time ago, someone (I think it was Vivi?) postulated that AnaLet and AnaLlora probably both would have grown up better-adjusted if they'd had AnaLu around. I agreed with that idea, but now I'm thinking it's very strange how someone who can be a moderating influence in one situation can be a hugely disruptive influence (as I'm assuming we'll see with AnaLu) in a different situation.
Although, their current situations are so bad that even a disruption might be an improvement!
Ana Lucía begin to understand the mess Santiago/Marcelo is in. This is such fun !
The 3 amigos are doing everything thru self interest. Santi doesn't want to lose AnaLu, Ram wants to find AnaLu to get Llora and Inaki wants Santi to run so he can have AnaLet . The 3 men, inc, Ev, control all of the women in this show. AnaLets lil control over Dan and Mar doesn't amount to much right now.
Actually, Ramiro should have just called Mariano when Ana Lucia showed up and gotten him to come over. That would clear up his credibility and Mariano can decide when Ernestina can handle the news.
Although the ideal thing would be for Mariano to witness the rage of AnaMeMeMe upon this discovery.
Santiago needs to get it together. He needs professional help about his memory and maybe he'll remember what a selfish emotional vampire AnaMeMeMe is. Notice she only seems to wear blood-red lipstick.
Love that little reveal. Reminds me of the Recapper's Card that Sara and Kat used to use on one of the more abysmal telenovelas they were covering. Anytime the shenanigans were just too boring or annoying to endure, they played the Recapper's Card and skipped it. Works for me.
Thanks for the recap. I look forward to watching this now that I'm forewarned.
Vivi--Your "Three's Company only with weeping" belongs on the sidebar. Someone needs to alert Jane!
Vivi, you made me LOL with your reference to Three's Company, which is my all-time favorite comedy. I think AnaLet is to Ramiro what Lana was to Jack.
From the recap and great comments I am looking forward to catching up. I can't imagine that Ramiro would actually give in and be with AnaLet. I hope something happens to interupt them, but I pray it's not AnaLaura because then we would have to endure endless episodes of her weeping.
Thanks again Sneaky!
Hasta Pronto
right now.
Julie you're so right Llora has no grounds to be upset if her just a friend makes out (or more) w/her sister. She'll cry anyway though. Interesting point about Analu being a disruptive force now.
Urban your very logical suggestions would be great but then what would happen to the melodrama? The melodrama must come first:P
Viv: I agree! Three's Company, except with weeping. Ramiro pretending he's gay is not too far off considering the man hasn't been w/ a woman in years. I'm sure Letonta is hoping to be the one to break him in.
Urban: I was thinking Basic Instinct too! Sharon Stone did it first, but Boyer definitely is in the running for next sexy vixen on the screen.
Carvivlie: "All 3 Ana's in one bldg, possibly one apt. and not running into each other as the three guys play merry go round with them". Ha, yes! And it's very close to spinning out of control!
Julie: Agree, Inaki is probably my favorite character so far. He's very laid back & doesn't get too serious, even with all the melodrama around him.
Susanlynn, lol I love the 7 dwarves names you gave to these triplets. Nicknames are probably the only way we keep em' straight.
Daisy: Please add my reservation to the "Inaki is alright" table too, I think we need to bring our own checkbooks to order food, though.
Lily: You thought it was frustrating for you, imagine Ramiro! Imagine me! Dare I say it, I think I'm developing a girl-crush on Boyer lol
Jarifa: When worlds collide is accurate b/c everyone is in orbit of everyone else & SOO freakin' close, yet invisible to one another. I just want to tear down all the walls in that building. Maybe if we put each one in the Pokemon Go app, they could catch each other!
AuntyAnn: I honestly feel like it's more realistic to have a hot-blooded single man like Ramiro (who clearly hasn't gotten any in years) to respond naturally to Letonta, but he's a galan so the writers will always have him come out noble in some way.
JudyB: I loved the Sue/Viri interaction w/ Mariano too! At first, I thought he seemed younger than her in a way, especially if I compare her to Jennifer. But even as the "older" woman, I like her fit w/ him. That speech she gave him made me like me like her more. She was annoying in Amores Verdaderos, but this character suits her better.
This multiple iteration of same reaction was hilarious:
"Ramiro suggests they take it in the other room and then stands in the doorway trying to keep BadAna from barging in to look for her sister *gulp* no, yeah, she still means Llora. (I roll my eyes at the writers) "
Definitely deserving of an eye-roll. Chuckled also at what Inaki has "missed" by way of alluring undies on Ana Le. He is not that good at thinking on his feet too, is he? First he puts his foot in his mouth by letting on that he has Ana Le in his apartment when Ana Lu heard him call her "mi amor." Then he spills the beans to Ana Le that he took someone upstairs to Ramiro and she, being brighter than him, puts two and two together. Inaki needs to practice if he is going to survive till the end of the novela.
For her to demand access to Ramiro's apartment to check out whether Inaki was telling the truth is so off the scale of normal he should have put his foot down and said No Way. In fact, I'd recommend that he even look for a new job to limit her access to him.
