Tres Veces Ana #84: An Inconvenient Truth--Or Why Would I Lie?

Viewerville is digesting the latest luscious tidbit to have dropped from Ana Leticia's lips.  News at 10....

  • Marcelo and Ramiro are at odds because Marc played him for a fool and betrayed his promise to let Ana Laura know first that her sister, Ana Lucia, is still alive.  He's upset thinking the Ana MiMi will end up telling the family and he thinks it's best they tell the family together before A MiMi opens her maw.  Marco knows better and says the truth is too inconvenient yet for her to tell anyone.

  • Ana Lucia is still acting cold to Soledad and wants the truth if she and Mama Sole are ever to speak to one another again.  "--What's in that jewelry box of yours, Mama?  What secrets are you hiding from me?"

  • Iñaki runs into Ram and Santiago in a slick suit.  Wrong!  It's Marcelo and he immediate knocks Yaki around and threatens his life if he ever tries to seduce his wife or come near her again.  "--What happened to Santiago?"  Ram shakes his head in sympathy.  "--Meet Marcelo Salvaterra."

  • Chana pays Soledad a visit at the rooming house.  She introduces herself to Remedios and the first thing she does is give her the bad news that the darkest days are yet to come--but she does it with the brightest and most incongruous of robotic smiles, leaving Viewerville to wonder just who directed that scene.  Poor Rem can do nothing but race to her room and hold onto her foster son's (Santiago?) picture and sob.  Chana then tells Sole that the jig is up and to continue lying will get her nowhere now.  The truth is so close to surfacing that if it were a shark, it'd bite her in the backside and drag her to the deep.

  • Speaking of the deep end and drowning, Julieta is drowning in sorrows.  Viridiana gives her a friendly bit of advice.  We guess it is something to do with you've lost one son, but you still have another two and a relationship to renew.  Julieta cleans up and visits Iñaki at the office to apologize.  He rudely tells her that unless she's got a check for him, she knows the way to the door and out.  She leaves him a blank check and tells him to put whatever amount he wants on it; if he shows up for dinner that evening she'll sign it.  She leaves and he eventually rips it to shreds.

  • Yaki then gets a visit from his bookie's collectors.  They give him another week to pay up, or they'll carve him a new one.  He also has to give them the keys to his new car for the interest as "a show of good faith."

  • Mariano lights into Ana MiMi for supposedly plotting to have Claudia interfere with his and Jennifer's relationship way back when.  He wonders why Claudia is suddenly popping back into his life uninvited.   A MiMi's reply: "--Who meeeeeee???????"

  • Ram and Marco are chatting outside, meanwhile.  A MiMi appears and tries to shoo him away.  He's no longer a part of the family.

  • Evaristo appears as the door was open and tells them he had an appointment to meet with Ernestina that morning.  Erni arrives eventually to let all know formally that she's hired him to look into Ana Lucia's case.  However, this will have to wait until A MiMi and her hubby come in from the front lawn where they're cussing and discussing their present, past and future.

  • Outside, A MiMi and Marcelo hurl insults at one another and, when 'Evaristo lied to you!' doesn't work, she finally flings the ultimate  fecal female's sure-fired scene stopper:   "--I was so distraught, believing you'd died without ever knowing...that...I was carrying your child!!!

Thanks, Jardinera!

I was surprised that Juli wants Inaki's company, and is willing to pay for it. And now his gambling debts mean that he'll accept the offer. By the way, Viridiana knows nothing about the two kids Juli abandoned. She just thought it would be good for her to get out of the house and stop wallowing in grief.

Looking forward to hearing just what happened with Ana Leticia's pregnancy three years ago. Miscarriage, abortion, secret baby hidden somewhere? Hope Marcelo questions whether the baby was his or Dan's. How would she know?

Wow, did anybody else notice there were an ionordinate amount of commercials? It would be 5 minutes of show, then 5 minutes of commercial.
And I don't give a chipmunk's fart about Ghoulietta, get her off the screen if she does not have anything to do with the story. If I wanted to see a trainwreck I'd turn on the news.
If you are that miserable just whack yourself and do everyone a favor. She even talked about going to be with Daaaniel. Honey, I'm not sure your bus is going the same direction.

The whole episode seemed to be AnaLetmeexplain and Marc in the garden while the family waited on them. Little beyotch can think on her feet, she had more angles than a geometry book. You could see her thinking, "Hmm I'll try this, Oops, maybe he will believe this, rats,... maybe this.
Heh Heh, none of which worked on Marc. (I hope......?)

Not that I give a rats patootie, but I-Knockie-yo-headie has waltzed through all that money gambling and now has collect-a-goons 'Biggie' and 'Bigger' visiting. Ha, good for him. Bye bye little red SL, now where'd you put your Nikes dummy?
I assume this was thrown in as a means to sweeten the pot for AnaLetme-explain to bribe him. Sex AND money are strong inducements for a horny guy with gambling debts who has ALREADY killed once. So, Eknock, what'd ya buy now? Um, Ram, Rent-a-Center is picking up, not dropping off.

Chana didn't exactly cheer Remy up huh? "Yo, lemme see your hand." "Oh Shit!
You think things are bad now, just wait a bit and it is really going to hit the fan sister." Gulp. Does anybody know whose side she is on? Or is she just on her own side?

On a diferent subject, Ms Boyer has made a believer out of me. I used to consider her and Christina Aguilera competing for the Spanish "Sluttiest High School Girl" award. I'm sure we have all seen the scene in her red short suit dragging numbnuts around by his tie with the toy cars.
I have to say the mirror and the whole meltdown spooked even me, and I'm not spooky. Like looking under the bed before turning out the lights spooky. YIKES.

Shoot. I forgot about lying-assed SoeBad and the secret box. And Hecho en Chana told her again you have to take your medicine sometime, or it is going to be even worse. Just proves you can spray a turd with perfume, but you still have a smelly situation on your....hands...

Thanks Jardinera, succinct yet w/o losing the flow of the plot. The only dialogue I wish I could read again was the snarky back & forth bw Mary Mark & AnaLetonta. I LOVE these 2 together, almost as fun as her & Inaki's banter. Marc swallowed every line of bullcaca & spit it right back. Ugh, such delicious comebacks...I was Oliver Twisted! Happily holding out an empty bowl and a spoon! May I have some more please?

Vivi, ay amiga, perceptive as always. I was thinking exactly those things. Despite the slow moving pace, was happy with the drama build-up so far. I also like how AnaMeMeMe conned her way out of another accusation w/ Marrano. I'm glad they don't make him completely clueless, but of course he shuts up her whiney tirade of his attempted character assassination of her, it's only so much a Tio can take.

Anon10:18 I'm gonna have to ask you to sign off your funny rants w/ a name so we know who you are. I can always spot you b/c of your hilarious writing style, but maybe others cant. Maybe a name like NovelaChistosa or DivertidaDiva ;)

Thank you, Jardinera, for an entertaining recap of last night's episode.

I was hoping that Tío Mariano was finally onto Ana Leticia with reference to Claudia but no such luck.
Remedios sure did not get the reading she was hoping for.
I bet Iñaki was sorry he ripped up the blank check from his mother after the "loan collectors" paid him a visit. That was funny.
So it was nothing much until Ana Leticia dropped the pregnancy bombshell. It probably was fair payback for Marcelo/Santiago who told her he wanted to basically see her suffer in agony after witnessing him with her own sister.

Thank you, Jardinera, for hitting all the high points...low points?

So , ANALetmelie, has played the pregnancy card!

INaki just keeps falling deeper and deeper. Mommy hands him a blank check! WHo does that? Hey, it happens in real life. You have to be verra trusting...or foolish to do that.

OKay, back to chores and "Renegade."

Jarifa- Nothing is fair payback, when she's the one who ordered a hit on his life, and cost him three years of his life. And that, AFTER she cheated on him. I hope he doesn't weaken. I am enjoying how he doesn't fall for her lies, deflections, and indignation like everyone else does whenever they call her out for her bad behavior (see Tio Mariano as the perfect example). At least we in the audience know the pregnancy thing is true since we saw her flashback. But Marcelo really has no reason to believe her or to believe the baby was his.

Hi all: Not much happened this episodio. Rather pleased considering the marathon weekend stints the past few weeks.

ViviDC: I am not so certain she was really preggers as the flashback was in black and white. We don't really know what color that test showed as, or do we? I am not really familiar with the use of those things--way past my fertile years, one could say....I am hoping that Julieta did bring up other sons to Vi and a positive conversation/conversion might have taken place.

As for Yaki, I bet he was really sorry he had ripped that check up oncee the goons showed up and the red SLeekmobile went adios.

Susanlynn: I used to love Renegade. I do believe the guy must have college aged kids and or grandkids by now, if he ever settled down.

Jardinera...the long hair, right? I just saw his sidekick BObby SIxkiller on an episode of ROADIES that I surfed into right after telling hubba that I have not seen the guy in anything since REnegade! He looks the pretty much the same.. still has that long hair....still wearing suits. It really is my new guilty pleasure. Such galans. Muy macho.

Gracias, Jardinera.

Not too much happened and I'm not inclined to believe that Ana MeMeMe was pregnant. I can't imagine her allowing that to happen in the first place. Even when they show a B&W flashback we always have to keep in mind whose mouth the story is coming out of.

Inaki is in deep merde and Ghoulieta might just be desperate enough to try to bail him out. BTW, where is her husband? The second he comes back with what we know about her she won't have any dinero to give her rejected Sonny Boy.

Taking the car "as interest"? That boy is too deep a hole to be dug out of. Are those thugs associated with Evaristo and is Ghoulieta's husband going to be another financial fraud target?

Thanks Jardinera!

First I have to say I have no idea who will win the "war" between Marcelo and Santiago BUT I'm hoping Marcelo wins the war against Ana Leticia. Guess we'll have to see who's smarter.

I didn't remember that Iñaki was in trouble. Have they shown those goons before in a previous episode? Honestly even though the only way to negotiate with and get close to Iñaki is with money I still don't think Julieta should've even bothered. Her husband might not be pleased if he finds out the truth.

I don't believe the pregnancy story. I know these telenovelas well enough lol.

TF No this would be the 1st time they appeared. These are gambling debts & Evilisto lamented being down to 1 grandthug now, so these are plot filler villains setup for Inaki's motive to reconcile w/ su madre.

Urban I doubt it too. She's a fabulous fabulist w/ that serpent tongue of hers. I'm glad Marky could smell the bullcaca on her breath. But he seemed a bit thrown off when she mentioned it. You see in the "dingdingding" in her face after slinging as many gold bricks until one finally landed on her mark.

Susanlynn Ahhh! I love me some Renegade (Lorenzo Lamas), that show plus Hercules (Kevin Sorbo) and Highlander (Christopher Lambert) were my tv crushes growing up (along w/ Uncle Jesse).

Speaking of crushes on Tios, my family sat down to watch a few of the last epis they missed. We paused on the choking of the hooker. The chin and wrists appear masculine, but when the murderer walks away from the nightstand, the thighs and hips appear feminine (Claudia, is that you?). Maybe Gina made a miraculous recovery like Santi, although it's doubtful. Merci (mi madre) was skeptical it was a woman b/c the hooker wanted to finish "business". I told my mom to get out of the 90s & back into the millenium, but no can do b/c I reminded her that Renegade is on.

Yep everyone, about half these black and white flashbacks are what happened, (as they remember it) and the other half are the way they WANT to remember it, or want someone else to remember it. Also, I thought Mother Nature had some secret law preventing organisms like AnaLetmelie from reproducing.

We hadn't seen evidence of Inaki's little big secret until Goon A and B showed up, that I recall. But as mentioned, it would fit nicely if someone were trying to convince him to KILL somebody. For Inookie, I think that might be a better bribe than sheetwork.

Does anybody know the tie-in of Ghoulietta and Viridiana? They are an unlikely pair as seen from here. thanks the other anonymous

We have seen Inaki at the racetrack before, betting money that he shouldn't have been betting. The gambling and debt isn't a new theme with him, but it's the first time we've seen real consequences from his gambling habit.

I can't remember a flashback that's been false. Can someone point one out to me?

Often what happens is that we will see only part of a flashback first, and only later get the whole thing. Like how we first got the flashbacks of Marcelo pointing guns at Soledad and Valentin, and then much later seeing the full flashback where we see that they pulled knives and guns on him first.

Ananab: Interesting sleuth work about the gloves and hips. I don't have a recording of it so I can not rewatch it. BUT... I thought there was something funky about the right hand glove. Sort of a lump underneath the glove like a ring or something, but I'm far from sure what I saw.

Thanks, Jardinera.

So AnaLe's playing the I Was Having Your Baby Card. Did she tell anyone at the time? I'm not buying it.

Loved Marcelo snatching up Inaki and swinging him around! Poor Inaki looked totally shocked and Ramiro had that "I told you so" smirk.

I was wondering if Inaki could tape up that check, but he tore it up in so many pieces.

Vivi, didn't we see flashbacks of Funkundo AND Inookie killing Daniel?

I thought I remembered him thinking to Ghoulietta "Better your son than mine."

Anon- No. We didn't see Facundo kill Dan. We only saw him outside of Dan's hospital room watching Juli crying over Dan, and then saying it was better her son than his. It wasn't a flashback. Just a red herring scene, just like the scene of AnaLet passing Ev and nodding at him as he went in to see Dan. It was all just to throw us off and make us wonder just who had killed Dan. But the only people we saw kill Dan were SantMarc in his DREAM and Inaki in his two flashbacks.

I don't think you can tape up a torn checque.

It's about time for Ghoulieta's husband to find out the truth about her. That will really give her something to suffer about.

I'm sure Inaki will just have Juli write him up a fresh check. It doesn't matter that he tore up the blank one she left with him. He knows where to find her.

We never did see just who Juli's husband hired to investigate her. It would be no surprise if it turned out to be Ev.

Ana..I am totally with you concerning Lorenzo, Kevin, and the guy who played Uncle Jesse, but my preferred Highlanders are Adrian Paul of the TV series and Sam Heughan of OUtlander Highlander.

Vivi, Thanks. Them waskaly witers got me again. Made me remember something I didn't actually see. Boy if you see in black and white like Fido supposedly does, this show could get really corn-fusing. Thanks again.

LOL! Yeah, the writers are messing with us on purpose. :)

Thanks, Jardinera! Not very rich on events episode indeed.

FYI, in case someone didn't notice - we will not have an episode on Monday - I think it's the two hour finale of Un Camino that's preempting it.

In this episode the dynamic between Marcelo and Ana Le continues to be interesting. First of all, she is so upset he is trying to avenge and is playing dirty, but realistically (though of course none of this is realistic, but nonetheless...) this is small potatoes compared to her attempt to murder him!!! She does not express much regret, aside from a couple of rare, half-hearted "It was a lie" statements, whenever there's a opportunity to do so, which doesn't put her out too much.

I, too, hope this pregnancy angle isn't steering us back to trying to revive the matrimonio and Marcelo believing in her! We are almost through eight dozen episodes here, can't be that far from the end, so need some karma to start appearing and some main couple definition.

Ria, Is this supposef to br shorter than the typical /average 130 episodes?

Jardinera,
Thanks for the recap, I loved you mimicking AnaLet
when Tio confronted her "who meeeeee???" She certainly has honed her lying skills to an art form.

Leticia

The other day, apologies because I dont remember who, said that they hoped Inaki would not do Analet's killing for her. So my other suspect for the hookers death would be Inaki. When he went to office he was very pensive and worried, I think it was more than his debts, but mAybe he did Analet's killing. She knew about Gina being lovers with Ram, Val, and Marcello. I dont know why she would do that, but she is crazy.
My other suspect is still is wicked Violetino.

Jarifa, no indication that I heard that it will be shorter than the average length. Wishful thinking on my part since it's about 2/3 or the way through and hoping we are not saving everything for finale. But then who knows - it appears to have success (which is why reportedly they didn't break it in two), so they might yet lengthen it?

Ria,Isure understand the wishful thinking.: ). I was just wondering since it started here first it is hard to gauge. Thanks!

Thanks for the great recap, Jardinera. Must be difficult to do on a weekend...

Ria- Glad you told us there is no TVA on Monday. I wasn't aware of that. I start an evening class (Children with Moderate/Intensive Educational Needs)at the U. of Akron on Monday, so now I won't worry about missing my show. (You can see where my priorities lie.)

Wish me luck. I haven't taken Graduate classes for a number of years and at my age, I hope I can do it.

I am with those of you who hope this pregnancy angle doesn't rope Marcelo in. Unlike almost everyone else, he has been able to see through her little schemes so far.

Good luck, Virginia!! The class sounds super interesting. Is this where your background is as well?

If you'll bring even half of the wit and dedication we've seen from you here in your comments and desire to learn Spanish, I am sure there will be no stopping you!

Jardinera Thanks so much for your clever recap. You always catch a little detail somewhere that I missed. You're pretty funny too. Thanks again.

TOA

Best of luck tomorrow, Virginia! I know you'll do well in your class.

Viewerville is digesting the latest luscious tidbit to have dropped from Ana Leticia's lips. News at 10....

Great intro Jardinera. And I agree with you, the bland to cheerful expression on Chana's face was a weird contrast with the dark news she was delivering to Remedios. And while I find the character strangely likable, the fact that she's in league with Evaristo signals that she's playing for the Bad Boys Team. But if she really believes in Destiny (and who knows?) maybe she thinks it's useless to wring one's hands over the Inevitable.

Alas, it appears Teflon Marcelo has a chink in his coating. He looked stricken when Ana Leticia claimed a pregnancy (and presumably miscarriage caused by news of his death). More drama to come, for sure.

Virginia, what exciting news about your new class. Best way to keep those neurons firing. Never retire and never stop learning new things.

Thanks Jardinera. Always enjoy bullet points and your own unique point of view.

Thanks Jardinera. Just getting to read the recap today. Perfect way to enjoy a Sunday morning coffee with soccer in the background going on.

I agree on the commercials! Hopefully this isn't shades of things to come. I get aggravated mainly because it's the same commericials over and over, day after day. I. can actually do the dialog on some of them verbatim. I suppose they have a reason to drag the story out more...very different than the usual slicing and dicing to get it over with. But it really messes up your flow in the tale.

At least AnaLoon is referring to a pregnancy in the past and didn't throw out she was preggers now. Saved my TV. We don't have any stray children anywhere in this tale,so my guess is she will guilt him that the trauma made her lose the child. Santi would buy in, Marcelo probably not. So, in this instance, I hope Marcelo rules the day.

I fully expect Inaki to waltz over to Mumsy's house and start playing her so he can get the cash. Great scene watching his toy being driven away by the goons. The look on his face was priceless. I will also say I was sort of glad Marcelo decked him and warned him off AnaLoon. Maybe he won't be caught in ther web....yeah, who am I kidding.

Anyone else tired of the Rem's hysterical crying scenes over losing her "son" Santi. The caressing of the bed she did was too much for me. You can feel for a young man you befriended and helped in therapy and offered a place to live. It's a little weird to think your life will be over and hysteria that he is remembering his past and possibly moving on from you. She is making me increasingly uncomfortable watching the character.

However, enjoying immensely watching Sole seeing everything imploding. She isn't going to be able to keep her secret, and she needs to sit AnaLu down and tell her the truth. My fear is she is so delusional and so pathetic in wanting to keep AnaLu ( or she would call her Sophia 2.0?) to herself, I worry if she's totally crack and do something really stupid to the poor girl.

Daisy Same here lol. I was already holding a pillow in the air when she started talking about this "life-changing surprise". My mom wants Santi back, but I think Marc needs to stick around to keep her in check.

I loved the "You just met Marcelo SalveTEAR-A-NEW-HOLE-IN-YOUR-POMPAS" from Ram. Cuidado, Inaki but yea who're we kidding! The caresses he gave his car as she was pulling out were so cute, it made me want to be a red slickmobile in my next life.

YES, sick of her crying. Ok we get it, you lub him as your own. But all the faith & trust in him returning doesn't hold up if you're acting like all is lost. Ay dos mio, da me mas paciencia.

Yea my sis HATES Sole. I pointed out it's b/c of our own upbringing. She says "It's not just that, this woman has the audacity to play victim and saint. Other than Tin, no one pretends they're innocent as much as her". So we were happy seeing her squirm. I don't think she could do anything to AnaLu w/o risk of further ostracizing herself. AnaLu's got the upperhand here. Good, let's hope it stays that way. AnaLu needs practice standing up to bullies before she's finally face to face w/ AnaLetonta

I agree. SoleBad is now dancing on the razor's edge with Ana Lucia. She is going to be livid when she realizes she had a family of origin stolen from her.

Although she might forgive her once she's tangled with Ana MeMeMe.

OK, So some amnesiac hunk fell into your lap Remy. Nice of you to help him get back on his feet. Ummm ...what do things do when they get back on their feet? What do you think of when you think of feet? No.. it is not shoes.

They W A L K. Bye Bye Sant. Ya should have seen this coming Rem. Your mooning, slobbering and crying over him looks Tio-Sobrina-ish. Yuck It was only three years. What was your life like pre-Santi/Marky? Yup miserable then too, so it aint exactly Marky Marc. Get a new hobby.

And SoeBAD can't cut herself a break. It is bad enough to tell your hostage daughter a bald faced lie, but it is downright insulting to tell her one that even a fool would not believe. "Oh Honey that little ole box burst into flames the other night. There wasn't much in it anyway, (that's why I guarded it with my life)

They seem to be trying to make us feel for her with all the moping and crying and guilt. Its not working on me. From Ana Lucia's point of view, it would be maybe acceptable if she found out at this stage that her family were beggars or in jail. But she could have been sitting pretty in the mansion with her sisters. Little AnaLu has a (hopefully) lot of her life yet to live, but right now, 90 percent of her life has been with the warden..er.. SoeBAD

Urban: Too funny, life with SoeBAD won't look so bad after meeting AnaL'viper.

Amen and ITA with all of you about Remedios' blubbering grating on the nerves and being just short of creepy.

Anon- To be fair, before Santi came into her life, Rem had her husband. She lost him just when Santi came into her life. Much like Soledad, she was filling the hole left by the death of a loved one, with someone new. However, she seems to be forgetting her husband's last wish, which was to keep the young man safe. By becoming Soledad's confidant, the woman who is in league with Evaristo and determined to get SantMarc out of their lives, she's done just the opposite.

I actually do agree the writers...and certainly the MUSIC...is trying to make us feel pity for both Soledad and Rem. And I just can't see it anymore.

I did at first with Rem, but now she's becoming as hysterical as Soledad. Maybe befriending her as brought out the worst of her own emotions. Whatever the case, Rem is now becoming almost unhinged at the idea SanMar will be anything but the young man she knew for three years. HE HAD A LIFE.

And there in lies the rub with these two. Neither of them wants their attached kiddies to have a chance to get back to their old lives and the people who knew them and loved them. Ok, AnaLoon isn't the best person to go back to, but they don't know that. Rem hated Facundo before he even opened his mouth ( of course opening it didn't help his cause any), but she simply hated him because well, how dare he want to take HER Santi away from her. Cos', I don't know...he's the FATHER!

And of course, same with Sole.

I get absolutely irked at the way the show ramps up the sorrowful music with these two women as the weep and moan. I swear they want us to take their side. Don't get the portrayals and positioning by the directors and writers.

Don't get me wrong, while I find Rem's weeping annoying, I get why her character is feeling this way. The woman is alone now. When she lost her hubby, she wasn't left w/ the gaping hole that everyone else in this TN dealt w/ when they lost a loved one. She was immediately given a replacement to love and care for, in honor of her hubby's request. To lose Santi would mean she is left w/ the mourning she didn't get a chance to do 3 years prior. Santi gone is a stark reminder of what else she's lost. And it's also a reminder that she hadn't fulfilled her hubby's wishes fully. Her crying, albeit over the top, makes more sense to me than Woe-ledad. I just wish she would be consistent. If you plan to be strong, have faith, and keep hope alive, then it's best to act like it. Although, I can respect that she does it in the privacy of her room rather than in every room in the pension, includng a church (a la Woeledad).

I agree with Anna and also that it was cruel and unnecessary for Facundo to treat Remedios the way he did. He should have been grateful to her rather than thinking of her as riff-raff and wanting to throw her out of their lives. And that's kid stuff compared to Marcelo's cruelty.

Thus far I think the only person who has truly witnessed the split personality in action is Ramiro. Except for Ana Lucia, I don't think any of the others can begin to understand this.

Thanks, Jardinera. I agree with you, Chana's sunshiny delivery of the "your darkest days are yet to come" line was really bizarre.

I don't know what I think of AnaLet's baby bombshell. My instinct is not to believe her, but on the other hand, I don't think we've seen any flashbacks that were fake. But if it's true, did she tell anyone? And if it's true, why didn't she call off the hit on Marcelo sooner?

Good luck with your evening class, Virginia!

Julie said: "I don't know what I think of AnaLet's baby bombshell. My instinct is not to believe her...." I don't

I was begging the new and improved Marcelo 2.0 to ask "So, Mine? Or Tio's, beyotch?"

TOA

He may do that tomorrow night. We can only hope.

If she claims never to have told anyone I will be doubly suspicious. On the other hand we may run into that rare example of a novela character having had an abortion.

Oh dear, I forgot this isn't on tonight. Poo.

Tks to all for your comments. Virginia enjoy the ride. You are older and wiser!
Am disappointed we must wait til tomorrow to see the grand response.

Just returned from my first class. I think I'm going to like it. Lots of reading and projects, along with 40 pg. research paper.

Can't wait for tomorrow's TVA...

Everything sounds great but that 40 page paper!

Re: SOlesad and Remememe...WOW, They are really making my self esteem rise. I think I handled my empty nest pretty well...As with many of life's transitions, it is what it is. Children eventually leave the nest to build their own lives. Love is never lost, but sometimes it moves away.

Filler Comment alert: We didn't have a show last night so let's talk about somebody. I am pretty impressed with David Zepeda in this show. The part given him allows him to be a pretty good guy, a true blue friend, a reliable boyfriend, and for me, he makes it believable.

I say this because in Fin del Mundo Mr. Zepeda came in as the replacement Chava and many of us just DID NOT care for him at all. Pedro Fernandez was the original Chava, Marjorie's driver, but somehow needed to leave the show after about the second time he was REQUIRED to kiss her. I would have been offering to work free by about that time....anyway, there was a galan change mid-show. It was not well received. Our Ramiro seems very at ease in this role, and he has changed my perception of him. Maybe it is easy to look good when there are so few I don't want a B I G anvil for. OK, somebody else's turn.

TOA

TOA - I'm liking DZ in this role too. I thought he was good in Sortilegio as the villain and in Mentir para Vivir as the annoying galan. Hasta el Fin del Mundo was a troubled TN. Pedro and Marjorie had this mutt and thoroughbred romance storyline. Then Pedro exits midway, and DZ replaces him and is as good looking as Marjorie, so the dynamics changed and the story lost its charm. I don't blame DZ. I don't think anyone could've replaced Pedro at that point.

I finished my 2 day interview, and I'm back. I'm glad someone else mentioned DZ as a good galan, I wasn't sure of him at first either. But he's brought his acting chops and is chip-chopping away with gusto. I think he found his rhythm once the action gave him a more intense character to work with. The whole Gina/Llora romance plot was yawn-inducing, until his character became less 1-dimensional. I like him better now that he's the Bromeo to Marceliette and his sparring words w/ Tio, Tin, Ev & Inaki.

Also, can we discuss why the castle of Alvarez-Castillo doesn't have security cameras. Nobody thought to put them in even after Tio's car got wrecked? I really need somebody to start installing some cameras b/c me thinks it'll be necessary for a future plot.

Anna- Security cameras? Pfft! We're lucky if people have peepholes on their doors and use them! :)

Glad the marathon interviews are over with for you. Now, fingers crossed. Are you still interested in helping with recaps for El Color de la Pasion? Email me if so.

That's good news, Anna. I hope you get the job (if you want it - because interviews are a two-way street!).

Now, Zepeda. Previously I think he was in STuD, where he was totally not memorable, and I think he was in Tontas, which I didn't watch much. I haven't watched anything else that he was in. Looks-wise, he does not ring my bell. (I don't like his hair.) But he seems to be a good actor, and like Anna says, it took a while for the story to actually give him much to work with, but he's doing fine now. So I'll definitely give him a passing grade for this effort. :-)

As for Rulli, not that anyone asked: This is definitely the best role(s) I've ever seen him in. I think Boyer can act circles around him, but I'm impressed with Rulli too. He does a good job of switching between Marcelo and Santiago. The first time Santi put on the clothes and slicked back his hair, I saw a change come over his eyes as he transformed into Marcelo. That impressed me. Both Rulli and Boyer could have let the costuming, hair, and makeup people do all the heavy lifting for the multiple roles, but they are adding a lot on their own, and that's a big part of why this otherwise rather ponderous tale is so much fun to watch.
