Caray, Caray!

As Paulina and Adrian have their picnic/love-making session, the world them continues to crumble…

Monica is helping the kids with homework when Elisa walks in. Elisa tells her she was gossiping with the neighbor but Monica sees something in her face. She asks if something is wrong. Elisa tells her it’s nothing…she was just thinking how she should buy a new dress for Paulina’s wedding. She barely goes out and she thinks this wedding is going to be special.

Monica asks if she thinks it’s going to be really fancy. Elisa tells her she doesn’t know but she’s really excited to go and she wants to dress nice. She encourages Monica to do so as well. Monica is still apprehensive about what Gonzalo might say but Elisa tells that he’s been really bad to her lately so she shouldn’t even tell him. Monica agrees.

Camilo tells Karen that her mother is going to tell Ines as soon as Paulina gets married. He tells Karen the whole story. Camilo is still unsure if he should tell Paulina but Karen tells him they need to tell her, after Raquel tells Ines, that they knew everything so they don’t have any lies between them. Camilo tells her that she will have to tell her since he will be gone by then. They decide to go get a drink because they both (definitely!) need it.

Alfonso is still bothered by the fact that Gonzalo chose another lawyer to handle Mauricio’s case. Raquel doubts he’d want to be his friend after he knows that he hit Ines. Alfonso is livid; he then agrees that Raquel should tell Ines the truth. Raquel is happy he agrees but she has to wait because Ines’ health is delicate.


Gonzalo tells Ines the adoption process has started. He lets her know that Alfonso is not handling the adoption just like she wanted. He’s doing everything he has asked. Ines ignores him. Gonzalo tells her he misses her but Ines turns off the light and goes to sleep.

Camilo and Karen are getting tipsy and discussing their dilemmas. They seem to be enjoying each other’s company. Camilo asks why Karen doesn’t have a family yet despite her qualities and Karen tells him that she’s really been unlucky and dumb in love. She tells him about her old boyfriend, Ignacio Arriaga, an investment banker, who took her for all she was worth and left her on the street because she trusted him with her banking passwords.

Paulina and Adrian discuss their plans by bonfire. Paulina is learning how to sell clothes and Adrian tells her he’s there to help since they are starting their lives together soon. They kiss passionately and engage in sandy lovemaking.

Camilo asks why she didn’t tell the police and Karen explains since she gave him the passwords there was no crime. They toast to loving again. They then have another drink and go karaoke.

The next day, Paulina wakes up in Adrian’s arms and he tells her how beautiful she is in the mornings. They are thankful that their first night together was at their beach. They hope to find another when they move to Playa Linda. They kiss some more.

At breakfast, Jaime tells Julieta that Odette is coming to visit, if she could please take care of her. Julieta isn’t too happy to hear the news but tells him she’s will after she gets back from her spa day. Jaime says okay and hands her a pill (breath mint), which she drinks.

Elisa tells Monica that she is going to Chetumal to visit some friends and says she can pick up the deed to the house just in case she needs the original. She also tells her that she should since a Power of Attorney and Tutelage for the kids just in case something happens. They should be prepared should their Orland plans backfire; something bad to happen to both Monica and Gonzalo and then what happens to the kids. Monica agrees and goes to call the notary so she can also do a last will and testament.

Karen tells Paulina of her night with Camilo. Paulina tells her of her night with Adrian. Karen is really happy with how Camilo called her pretty and a total catch but she didn’t make a move. Paulina tells her that she wants Karen to tell her first when they begin dating.

While Adrian bathes, Silvestre confirms Adrian Olmedo is staying at the hotel in room 309. Silvestre thanks him and pays him for the info.

Ines is practicing sign language with Gaston. Gaston is happy with her progress and admires how welcoming they’ve been with Mauricio despite the fact he’s deaf. He comments how Mauricio and her looks a bit down today. Ines explains that Paulina is leaving after the wedding and Mauricio is going to miss her. Gaston tells her she can be there for Mauricio but Ines tells him how her husband and other daughter, Nuria, do not approve the wedding and it’s tearing her family apart. She hoped her family life would be so much more solid but she’s quickly realizing it will not be the case.

On their date, Beto tells Chelo she looks very beautiful. Chelo tells him that he looks very nice as well. She then tells him she noticed that he didn’t tell his mom. Beto tells her that he doesn’t want his mom to know since she wouldn’t approve of employees fraternizing. Chelo asks if there is something between them. Beto quickly says no but he hopes they have something. Beto then asks if she will stay in the Murat house or return to Guadalajara but Chelo quickly says no because she was very unhappy there.

Acacia asks Nuria if she’s going to class but Nuria tells her she feels bad. Nuria tells her though that she will still graduate with honors. Acacia hopes she doesn’t beat her grade point average but Nuria says she might. Acacia then hands her a sandwich but Nuria almost throws up. Acacia tells her she might be pregnant but Nuria tells her she probably has a stomach virus and leaves.

Chelo explains to Beto that she’s an orphan because her parents died in a bus crash when she was 6. Since then she stayed with her godmother and her husband but she says she would have rather stayed by herself. Beto asks why she said that but Chelo asks about Beto’s father. He tells her how he left when he found out his mom was pregnant. He feeds her fruit and the mood seems to brighten a little.

Julieta goes to meet the bank manager. She’s apprehensive about walking in but does and he closes the door. He shows her a folder that contains the documents that prove Gonzalo committed fraud and Julieta tries to leave. He’s not letting her go though: he proposes she put them in the safe, punch in the code and she can take them when their “transaction” is done. He then starts to kiss her neck and Julieta is disgusted… After he’s done, Julieta leaves immediately with the documents.

Ines tells Paulina that her engagement ring is beautiful, especially because it stands for true love that has fought against all obstacles. A salesman comes to show them jewelry. Paulina picks one with a seashell and then gives it to Mauricio. The kid is smiling from ear to ear.

Julieta gets home and finds Nuria there, taunting her about the wedding. Nuria asks her what she’s going to do to stop the wedding. Julieta tells her she has everything taken care of and screams for Nuria to leave. Nuria does with a giant smile.

Inside, Odette asks Julieta where she’s been but Julieta demands to know the number to the agency in Playa Linda. Odette tells her Adrian is in Cancun, he’s been there since last night. Julieta demands to know in what hotel he’s staying to show him the documents she obtained.

Flavio shows Paulina, Adrian and Karen the location and tells them that he contracted a small band for the first dance. Paulina asks how much it’s going to be but Flavio tells them that he’s happy to pay for it. Karen thanks him but Adrian wants to pay for the band. Flavio tells them to take it as a gift from a hopeless romantic, the complete opposite of a bitter old man that Karen thought she was. Paulina and Adrian have more kisses and hugs.

Odette asks Julieta if those documents are going to be enough to separate Paulina from Adrian and Julieta tells her yes, they prove Gonzalo Murat did everything she accused him of. She tells Odette that nothing will stop her from telling Adrian. Odette, however, proposes an alternative to her plan...

Nuria finds Paulina and tells her that she will be unhappy if she marries Adrian because she’s going to betray her family. Paulina tells her that she has the power to decide her fate and the right to be happy and that is not a betrayal because her conscience is clear. She goes to leave but Nuria stops her. Paulina is not about Nuria’s bad vibes today and warns her not to touch her.

Nuria continues to spit her venom though: it’s her fault her parents are fighting, she will never be happy if she marries Adrian, her life will end in tragedy if she turns her back on her family. If Adrian leaves her, she will be completely alone because she chose him over her family.

Paulina grabs a handful of Nuria’s hair and pushes back. She knows her unhappiness will cause Nuria great joy, not because she cares that Paulina will be alone but because she can’t forgive that Adrian never paid any attention to her. Her ego can’t take the fact that Adriana never cared for her.

Nuria counters that Adrian was only a passing fancy, she could have any man she wants and that her father will approve of. Paulina grabs Nuria’s face but Nuria isn’t giving up. She tells Paulina that when she gets married it will be a huge spectacle and the whole family will be there because they won’t be ashamed of her.

Paulina demands that Nuria demonstrates how happy she’ll because all she can see now is an unsatisfied woman. She cannot see other people happy, especially her. She then warns her to stay away because she’s coming for her if she messes with her life again.

Alfonso still cannot fathom how Gonzalo hit Ines but he cannot do anything right now as any fight can upset Ines. Camilo then tells them that Paulina already knows her half brothers and they’re friends, they met through Mauricio. Raquel comments that Gonzalo’s perfect world is about to crumble.

At the coldest dinner on Earth, Ines tells Gonzalo that Gaston suggests Mauricio see the therapist at the clinic and they should all go. Gonzalo tells her that anything she decides is fine, they should go tomorrow. Ines tells her that she’s going to Paulina’s wedding tomorrow so it can’t be then. They will have a small party after the wedding for those who approve of their union. Ines then tells him that she is moving to another room. Gonzalo asks about their intimacy but Ines lets him know they might not be together again; if he can’t satisfy her needs and wants, she isn’t going to have the same courtesy with him. She walks away.

In her room, Nuria assures herself that, no matter what she does, Julieta will stop the wedding because she hates Paulina even more than she does.

At breakfast, Odette tells Julieta that she let Jaime know they were going to the doctor together. Julieta tells her that her plan better work or she will kill her. Jaime walks in and asks where his suit is but Julieta tells him she got rid of it. When Jaime leaves, Julieta confesses to Odette that she ripped it to shreds and laughs about what he is going to wear. Odette sips her coffee, finally realizing the snake pit she stepped into.

Karen confirms with Paulina that she is going to bring everything because Paulina now needs to get to the salon. Paulina thanks her again and hugs her. Karen then pushes her out the door.

In the closet, Jaime finds his suit ripped to shreds. He runs to the dining room and demands to know why she destroyed his only suit. Julieta thinks it’s dumb for him to where a suit in the morning, it’s too hot. Jaime can’t even fathom how crazy Julieta has gotten. Odette tells Julieta they are going to be late and Julieta runs to the door. Odette then apologizes to Jaime for all he’s had to suffer next to Julieta. When she takes too long, Julieta screams her name and Odette goes running before she gets worse.

Chelo is modeling her new outfit for Micaela and Beto and they comment on how pretty she looks. She tells her how Ines gave her the dress but Micaela tells her she shouldn’t accept it. They should know their place. Chelo tells her that she’ll only like Ines. Micaela tells her to get bag since they’ll leave as soon as Ines is ready.

In the dining room, Nuria screams for Micaela to get her a tea. She comments that she’s had an upset stomach for days. Gonzalo tells her to go to the doctor. Nuria agrees but she wants her tea first. Ines tells her if she wants a tea she’s going to have to do it herself because the servants are going to the wedding. Nuria tells them her sister is so tacky and vulgar but Gonzalo hushes her fast.

In the kitchen, Micaela warns Beto not to romance Chelo anymore because he knows she doesn’t like relationships between the house staff. Beto knows this but for the first time he’s not going to listen, he really likes her. Micaela warns him that should one of them get fired, she’s not defending them because they know the rules.

Ines tells Nuria that she should be ashamed that she’s not going to the wedding like her father. Nuria tells her that she’s ashamed her sister is going to be family with Julieta who dared to slander her father. She stills has hopes that her wedding won’t happen. Ines tells her that the wedding is going to happen, no matter what. She then leaves the table with Mauricio because they spoiled her appetite but not before telling them how saddened she is by what her family has become. Nuria takes another swig of her orange juice but she can barely keep it down.

At the mall, Paulina runs into Raquel and Camilo. Raquel comments on how pretty she looks and then leaves, she has her own hair appointment. When they’re alone, Paulina tells Camilo that she hopes he finds happiness. Camilo congratulates her and then say goodbye.

As Paulina is leaving, she finds Julieta in her way. Paulina is unfazed: she says hi then tries to walk around her. Julieta isn’t letting her go. She tells her that if she marries Adrian she makes sure her father goes to jail for the rest of his life. She then offers her a choice (as Odette looks on behind a bush): her father’s freedom or her marriage to Adrian…
