As promised, I'm working on a weekend blog to keep us busy until the recap, and even after the finale is over. Hopefully it'll give us better closure than what we might get from the finale & help get us over any TVA withdrawal :)

Orlando was the most deserving of punches and Ramiro gave it to him good. Dumping Orlando in the car trunk was icing on the cake.

Best Dream Sequence:
Ana Leticia meets her victims. This was a great walk down Ana Leticia’s dirty deeds to date and let Viewerville know deep down she was tormented.

Best Fight Scene:
The Bromance Rescue (Ramiro vs Marcelo).
What can I say? I love a good buddy movie.

Best Plot Keepsake:
The Identity Bracelet. I want one.

Funniest Scene:
When Viri lowers the boom on Mariano post-haste post-nookie. Mariano's sudden loss of his manly confidence was a hoot.

Favorite Comedic Duo:
Iñaki and Ana Leticia.
Too bad Iñaki kept get eviler and eviler.

Considering our election season, I love the idea of write-ins! Especially b/c I wasn't too sure about putting Carlos de La Mota (Valentin) & Eric Del Castillo (Evaristo) under Best Actors, but I did it based on character significance rather than prominence. Any write-in categories are fine too. This is all just for fun really :P

I have so many youtube links in my email, will organize them tomorrow for remaining categories, promise!

I originally had this set for Wednesday, but I realized that Tuesday would be Julie's recap & we'd be too wrapped in discussing the finale to vote. So Wednesday is final day to vote, reveal on Thursday. And that'll leave us the weekend to decompress & move on from TVA :)

 

This is actually my first comment on this website, but I felt like pitching in on the conversation because I've been following this telenovela, and the blogs by extension, for a while now. Thanks to all the recappers for the inciteful, and very often funny, summaries of each day's episodes.

For Best Actress, my choice is, of course, Angelique Boyer. She's done an impressive job playing triplets, to the point where my grandmother, who watched the original, actually prefers her to Lucero.

For Best Actor, my choice is Sebastian Rulli.

For Best Supporting Actor, I choose Fabian Pizzorno as Facundo. He's done a very good job at playing the evil father who exploits his son for selfish reasons. I've actually seen him in some Argentine telenovelas, so I'm familiar with his acting skills.

For Best Supporting Actress, my choice is hands down Nuria Bages as Leonor. I've really enjoyed the character of a woman who doesn't mind living a humble life, despite the fact that she could very well be wealthy if she wanted, and also her family-oriented personality.

My Favorite Couple and Comedic Duo is Ana Leticia and Inaki. Those two have a very interesting dynamic, and I enjoyed the mischievous ways until they started heading down a more evil path.

My Favorite Villains, because it's a tie, are Ana Leticia and Valentin. Now, we knew Ana Leticia was spoiled and evil from the beginning, but we didn't really start seeing Valentin for what he was until much later, and that's what I like about him.

Most Hated Villain and winner of The Anvil Award would be Valentin, because he's plain evil. Ana Leticia at least had a few lucid moments in which she regretted her actions.

The Gift of Redemption, in my mind, would go to both Soledad and Inaki. Soledad was not in the right state of mind when Ana Lucia ended up in her arms that horrid day, and so I can somewhat sympathize with her fear of losing what she saw as another daughter. As for Inaki, he was really just a product of his environment. Abandoned and denied by his greedy mother, he saw his low status as the reason for his problems. His humiliation by his mother later on only fueled his rage.

Best Plot Keepsake would go to Soledad's Chest, and Best Plot Prop would go to the Tarot Deck.

I barely remember most of the slaps and kisses already, but I really enjoyed Ana Laura slapping Ramiro and Maribel, even if it wasn't the most justified of all slaps. It was just funny to see her do a twofer!

Was there no category for best near-miss? My favorite was when Isidro was at the pension, where Santiago had stopped for a moment - I don't remember why - and Isidro narrowly missed seeing Soledad and/or AnaLu. I think Remedios gave him a glass of water.
 

Best Supporting Actress: Viri (a write in campaign)

Diana, I'm joining your write-in campaign! Viri didn't have as much screen time as others, but she always left me amused, cheering, or thinking "poor kind-hearted thing championing the likes of Soledad and Julieta."

Hottest Chick that couldn't give it away: Maribel

T - ha! Javier was loco for Maribel, but all she did was accept his sweet gifts and drool over Ramiro. She didn't deserve a fall to the death, but she couldn've been nicer in how she rejected Javier instead of making him feel like a poca cosa next to Ramiro.
 

Good Lord, Anna, this beyond fabulous. Now I know how I will be spending my afternoon!

But I could not go on to read the comments for the last episode without telling you that your recaps are absolutely awesome! One can tell what effort you put into each recap and the details you brought to each scene and each actor. Man you are one kick ass chica ! You rock girl!
I can't begin to know the amount of time and energy you and all the recappers put into giving us Caraymates such an enjoyable time and satisfied way to wrap up each episode.
Please, please recap another novela as soon as you can!

Victoria, you are a trophy! Really, you are what recappers get in lieu of a pulitzer prize lol. We love hearing that our hard work pays off for someone in some way. Yes, it gets tideous, but it's well-worth it to know people are able to get in our head & enjoy the carnival ride inside :D

Biggest Twist: The only one I didn’t see coming, Inaki is Daniel’s Killer. As shocking as the other twists were, I had them figured out long before or just right before they happened. But Inaki as the killer was the twist that kept on giving, b/c we were still unsure & even after we were sure, we were STILL unsure lol.
Worst Murder: “Inaki killing Isidro” should win this b/c it’s so violent, but “Ana Leticia provoking Ernestina’s heart attack” hit us the hardest. It was cruel w/o even having to touch the victim, & it hit Viewerville where it hurts (in our feels!).
Best Actress: Angelique Boyer aka triplets (was there even a chance?)
Best Actor: Pedro Moreno aka Inaki (Such acting chops, I’m blown away by his complex portrayal)
Best Supporting Actor: Alan Slim aka Javier (showed the most angst & developed character of all the background cast)
Best Supporting Actress: I really want to give this to Luz María Jérez (Julieta) b/c you could feel her trauma, but I’m giving it to Nataly Umaña (Gina) b/c for a first time actor, she did incredible. Her manipulation, her cattiness, and her ability to cry on cue were admirable. I’d like to see her in more roles.
Fave couple: Ana Lucia & Marcelo
Fave comedic duo: Ana Leticia & Iñaki
Villains (Fave, most hated, the anvil award, and gift of redemption) : Evaristo, Valentin, Ana Leticia (she deserved a bigger anvil than she got), and Inaki (even though he was “redeemed”, I’d like to exonerate him of all past sins so he can run away & come live w/ me in my fantasy castle).
Best Plot Keepsake: Ev’s notebook (it should be made into a memoir, then a movie!)
Best Plot Prop: As much as the Deposit Key drove us batty, I want to give it to the Pill Bottle b/c it gave our little drug pusher, Ana Leticia, some of the best scenes.

I'm working on a subtitle project for another site. But once I'm done with that, I'll count the votes & post the winners up :)
 

I think we need to give special credit to Angelique's stand-in, who must have worked her butt off almost as much as AB herself and probably won't get much credit for it.
