Vino el Amor 11/23/16: # 19 “Deceits, Disappointments, and Acknowledgements”
Labels: vino
"Senor, I SWEAR to you that I didn’t want to! But they convinced me to dance. Please forgive me.” (She hangs her head in shame. What a silly girl.)" and "Grace is offering David a business partnership plan in the vineyard and she wants him to know that she is offering everything to him. (As she grabs his hands)" were among my favorites.
"Later she is at her desk and finds the paper work regarding the 10 kilos of Amber acid". Hmmm. Juan may be adept at pilfering funds, but he clearly needs an education on hiding the paper trail when buying poisonous substances. Fortunately, Perla does not seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed so she will likely forget the invoice as she continues to pout and rue Graciela's untimely and undesired return.
While Fernanda is spoiled and can be churlish, I do feel badly as she is being lied to by her aunt, whom she loves and even sadder, trusts. There are fewer things more reprehensible than adults manipulating children, their blood relatives, for their own gain. When David woke to see Graciela, her presence and her touch were both highly inappropriate. But give her credit. She is using those children for all they are worth.
So Susan is just getting out of a bad relationship? That kind of came out of the blue. I see some rather electric chemistry with Miguel. I think they belong together (I know others have mentioned this also).
Luci did look charmed by Miguel, but I can't imagine he was much on her mind after those amazing looking kisses with David.
Yes, poor Leon! Beautiful roses and her favorite candy. How cruel and heartless Carito was. Sadly, it will likely take much more than her rejection for him to realize she isn't into him. At all.
Thank you Cynthia...
I am grateful for so much this Thanksgiving. I have a wonderful family and friends and much, much more. I would like to wish everyone in our Caray Caray family a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. I treasure all of you.
Diana
I would like to wish everyone here a very happy Thanksgiving Day. I am busy in Sacramento with my daughter and her husband. I came up here to be with them because they were going to be unable to come down south to L.A. since my daughter has to work on Friday. I've been enjoying watching these telenovelas at their home and I get to double check with my son in law on the translation of certain words.
I probably won't get to read many comments tomorrow, but thank you in advance for all your input. It makes recapping so much more enjoyable. Thanks you everyone and may you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day tomorrow.
Poor guy will be devastated when he finds what an evil witch she is!
Cynthia: Fernanda (aka Aranza 2.0) will continue to be manipulated until the very last episode of the TN.
How long before Marta goes off on Fernanda for bashing Luciana ?
“So all of a sudden you developed a conscience?”
Hope the show fools me later like it did with Graciela's return cause some things really bother me. In no particular order
Marta did chose her Vineyard family over her husband and daughter. Luciana several times has mentioned how she felt growing up without her mother and honest last night feeling resentful toward Fernanda a little but Marta never seems to really get it. She defends it financially, she dismisses it with biology but I see a closer relationship with the Vineyard kids than with Leon who lives in the same bunkhouse. Marta is an enigma.
I struggle mightily with machismo especially when these shows throw out a catch all disclaimer "I'm a Latin man", like that should either warn a woman or is an excuse for insensitive, grabby behavior. Last night Carlos made his move and warned her with being Latin and was rewarded with an uncomfortable kiss. Though not a reaction to Carlos personally, Susan was brought to tears and later all Carlos had to do was bull through, grab the frightened little doe, and kiss it to make it go away. This is a young unsophisticated guy with no resume but being a male with raging hormones. I travel extensively the world and aware of cultural differences but is this what TN's want to perpetuate as we move into 2017.
Fernanda is a piece of work and all the adults in that household are to blame for it. Marta spoiled her in different ways from the others because of her own guilt, Lillian and Graciela use her, Lisa amd David may not have disciplined her enough, and for the past two years David had been emotionally absent. I'm amazed that Bobby is as emotionally healthy as he is. Last night we realized that he won't mind if David eventually marries Luciana (which we know is the likely ending).
Carlos is clearly inexperienced or he wouldn't have pulled that move. I'm sure he was trading on the idea that gringo males fall short on displays of passion but he hasn't watched the right movies or telenovelas so he has no game. He's cute, but not sophisticated. He needs to watch some classic novelas and movies starring Ricardo Montalban.
Leon wasted however much money on those roses for a chick who isn't worthy. He's going to end up monumentally embarrassed when she arranges for him to see her chasing Miguel again.
We haven't had a trio of related villanas that I can recall since Mundo de Fieras but I don't currently see equality here. And I hope that David's suspicion isn't dispelled.
You have to wonder how much and for how long '1' and Lil have been embezzling from the company. The initial thought is that it mostly happened while Dave was funking, but in the real world it happens many times fro years before it eventually comes to light.
The smart ones know when to quit and leave before they are discovered. 1 appears to not be one of those. He and Perl are perfect for each other. They are both capable of giving each other sooo much. ....Heartbreak, sadness, despair, STDs, how beautiful.

I thought Juan was skimming from the start and stepped it up while David was grieving. Graciela overheard Juan and Lilian discussing the embezzlement 12 years ago and Lisa heard the three fighting over it. The threat of exposing Juan is Graciela's ace and I think more powerful, since it could be proven, than Juan's assumption she had something to do with Lisa's death.
Boy, David is all in coming to terms with the ghost of Lisa but Luciana isn't nearly there. The guy has set himself up to be tied in knots, perhaps he and Miguel can do Tequila shots together and exchange laments of unrequited love.
Both he and Lillian are too greedy to stop now. The attempt at getting the property sold was to be their big score and escape hatch because neither intended to stay in David's life. They thought they could do this without being found out. Unless Juan burns the document about the acid purchase that Perla found last night there is a chance David will find out. I think he's plotting something similar now with the next harvest or the grapes purchased from other growers, so Miguel, Susan, and Luciana will each need another pair of eyes.

Hey, I'm happy with the hot kiss between David and Luci! I'm glad David and Luci see through Fernanda's getting religion about her and Luci's relationship and I hope David and Luci remain on guard. I especially hope David is forceful next time Gracie is stroking his temple while he's in bed: next thing you know he's going to find her in that same bed in her birthday suit or climbing in the shower with him. I further hope the "keep your enemies closer" plan backfires and Fernanda really comes to get to know and like Luciana. All the other "love stories" are kinda pitiful.
Like your comments on Marta, Tofie. Her loyalties to her own family feel thread bare. I'm beginning to think she will not be repulsed by Gutierez when she finds out who he is. She may well know who is and be more committed to sticking it to Lilli than honoring Marcos' memory.
Cesar & gracie.....No.
Cesar & susan......that depends on susan's thinking, whatever that is. Will it be on tonight.
Thanks dyy77. Happy Thanksgiving to all :)
I left this episode less impressed with Tano and Susan. I'm just not feeling that.
Tofie, I agree, David has sure turned his frown upside down quickly.
It's refreshing to A. not have Luciana or Fernanda's father just fall for her apology right off the bat, and B. have our main couple not drag out telling each other their feelings toward each other.
I kept trying to send mental messages to Luciana and Susan to go search Juan's office for proof of the acid purchase when they were brainstorming about what to do next when the phone calls that Susan made didn't work, but they never got them.
One thing I didn't expect, but am enjoying immensely, is hearing our actors speaking English. So far, only one actor is speaking American English flawlessly without an accent and that's Juan. Gutierrez is good, but i still hear a slight accent, and Lilian's British English is humorous to me. I would have thought she could have pulled off an American accent without any problems, but perhaps they didn't care if she spoke with a British one. The other actors are so fun to listen to. Marta's English is quite good.
Gracie is going to be a handful. She has looks, money, and apparently no morals. If she can off Sis without batting an eye, she sure looks a lot like a sociopath. Our Hollywood honeys get away with it all the time, hot chick with a lot more money than morals.
Gracie is polished on the surface, and well traveled too, along with what appears to be some artistic some talent. Little Luci against her is like the Taco Bell chihuahua against a werewolf. Could get messy.

Get used to the new recapers and give Praise where praise is due. Thanks again : )
I need help with Marta.
Lilian is convinced Marta took her man and I don't see much protest
Marta is willing to endure Lilian's abuse and separation from husband and daughter to remain with her surrogate family
I assumed Marta loved Marcos but for half their marriage they lived in separate countries
Marta didn't seem to know or was concerned Marcos had heart problems
Marta has moved on pretty quick after Marcos death
Marta warns Luciana off rich guys and to settle for a hard working guy that loves you
So, could Miguel be to Luciana what Marcos was to Marta?
Could Marta have loved Lilian's husband or together before they married?
If Marta was around when Lisa and Graciela were children why weren't they close or perhaps they were?
toa, Graciela makes Lilian, Juan, the bad girls (Perla, Carito, Fernanda, Sonia) and Gutierrez look like school kids, Luciana hasn't got a chance. Perhaps the only fair fight would be Graciela and the Coyote but the only person that can stop her is David.
You pointed out a boatload of incriminating points about Ms Marta. Hmmm..mystery lady and I don't get it either.

I feel bad for Fernanda. Without the interference from auntie and grandma, David could slowly get her to accept Luciana. Fer's a brat but she hasn't shown a penchant for scheming.
So I guess Susan's ex will turn up one day and we'll get to see Tano take him on. Don't know where Susan is at, but I need to know more about Tano before their romance heats up. Is he going to school? What's his plan for the future? Miguel seems to be the only young man with plan at the vineyard.
Does Univision think they are endearing me to them any more than they already AREN'T by chopping up that scene? I really didn't want it broken up, what 3 times by commercials AND other scenes when it was far more important to see and hear what they were doing. David practically ate Luciana's lips with that kiss. Not too romantic for just beginning a relationship. I hope Luci remembers his words about never wanting to hurt her.....I hope he remembers them, too.
Enjoyed all the comments. Marta is turning out to be very intriguing. Maybe that's why Cynthia K. was chosen to play her. She must have some deep dark secrets.
