Vino el Amor #48 Friday Jan 6th 2017)-- Lucia leaves again aka we've seen this episode before. (Full Recap)

As Lucia and Smuguel toast to their lopsided love,  Juan complains to Carito and Perla that it's too hot in the storage facility and it smells.  The girls are not happy with the conditions of the place and Juan wants them to calm the immigrants down.   The girls don't think this situation is right and the conditions are so bad that the people are getting sick.  They threaten to quit and Juan tells them to stop or they're going to scare the people when the whole reason the girls are here is to calm them.   He's looking for a new place to put them but they need keep the situation and people calm because desperate people can become violent.  Carito demands food and water for them or else. Perla raises her voice and says me too, get them medicine and wash cloths so they can clean themselves.  Juan tells them to quieten down, he'll take care of it, but it's coming out of their portion of the money.

Lucia looks down a hallway and recalls happier times as a child with Miguel.  He knows where her thoughts have gone and he says he didn't want her to remember the vineyard sadly.  She says he's succeeding.   He pulls her in for another of his overly eager mauling and smacky kiss sessions.  I can't.

Perla and Carito pass out the supplies they requested to the immigrants.  Carito notices Perla looking around and says don't expect that worthless no good skeez Juan to help.   Perla says she wasn't expecting him to, she was actually looking for the girl she saw the first time she was here, but she doesn't see her.  They ask one of the men who says they saw her earlier but then she left because she had a problem with the boss.

Miguel places a blanket on Lucia's shoulders and  again as so many times tells her  how much he loves her.  Not just his body, but soul and heart. They're all hers.. a gift from him.  She tells him this night is beautiful.  Miguel says he'll carry this moment forever inside of him.   Pretty sure she's gonna be returning that gift Miguel. I hope you don't need a gift receipt. Ha!  #TeamDavid

Juan comes to check on things and the girls are noticeably upset.  Juan doesn't know why, he gave them what they wanted.  Perla mentions the girl who disappeared.  Well there are a lot of people, maybe she's asleep?  Or maybe the bathroom?   Perla thinks something happened to her.   She tells him what the man said about her leaving because of problems with the boss she was working for.  If that's true then they better hope she returns if not it's bad he says.  Carito thinks they should call the police. Juan loses it and tells her go ahead, but then all the people are deported and the three of them go to jail.  Perla tells Carito to calm down.  Carito says she thought they weren't doing anything bad, right?   Juan says well legally they're not permitted to help them but they will try to help them get their visa and papers.  Juan says he's going to see if he can find this girl,  maybe she got a call from a boy and ran off to be with him.  Perla thinks he's nuts.  Who would have time for that now?  Look at how all of these people are coming in here.  Juan says fine, let him think about what he can do.

David waits for DisGrace down in the lobby and she finally arrives with the gift wrapped box in hand.   She had such a great time, blah blah.  David did too and he didn't think they would, he's surprised to discover the fun side of DisGrace that he didn't know.  Oh you have no idea how much fun this chick is David. Give her a rock and she'll really blow your mind.  She can't resist reminding him of Lucia and Miguel so she asks him to hold the gift while she checks her luggage for her charger.  That box has bad mojo because David turns sour and DisGrace rubs it in real good.  It's so awesome I was able to get a gift for the newly engaged couple.  I'm sure newly married couples appreciate any gift right?  David wonders what it is.   Well don't open it, it will be a surprise for everyone, but trust me.  Grace goes to get her suitcases but David prefer she carry the evil engagement gift and he will take care of her bags.   Oh that DisGrace…she's a barrel of laughs.  #KillerDate

Speaking of real fun, Leon cub wearing his two sizes too large Mi-Senor shirt gets a thumbs up from his charming companion Sonia.  Oh look how handsome, you look so muscular.  Leo squirms, he clearly looked at himself in the mirror and tells Sonia the real truth. It's not his style and it's too big.  Oh no…*sniff*  Leo tells her to slow her cougar sniffing or they'll run them out of there.   Let's sit down so we can talk, eh?  Sonia (My gawd I love her, the actress is divine)  gives Leo some "feedback".  How about you eat a bit more and work out at the gym, so that way you'll fill out the mi-senor shirts I'm going to give you.   Leo says naw…to be honest not even my mom picks out my clothes.  Leo think they can have a good time and go out without her buying him stuff.  He's digging her look and he tells her so.  Oh really?  Yeah you always wear those serious outfits and I didn't think you would look so great like this.  Sonia says oh really?  She pulls Leo close and purrs. Tell me do you like this better or how I dress at work, because I can be your prim by day or naughty at night Sonia, whatever you want.   Leo is clearly flustered and decides it's time to change the subject.  Let's get to know each other better okay? Talk!  Sonia says so you asked me to get dressed up and we're not going to a bar to dance or drink tequil-itos like last time? *wink*   Leo has his manitos full, but he knows how to handle her. No,  I want to know abut you, what are your dreams and ideals.  Sonia is clearly intrigued by her Leo cub.

Miguel and Luciana.   More love talk, you always took care of my family. Blah blah.  Miguel says he always will, nothing will ever separate them.  Luciana says she's starting to fall in love with him too.  Whaaa?  I really can't.  I want to smack Luciana right now.  You just threw a whole gas can on a bonfire girl.  #FreeMiguel #FreeMe #LocoLucia

Back at the really fun date,  Sonia feeds her Leo cub some dessert.  So you dreamed of getting married and having kids?  Oh yes, I always wanted to live in a big house like mi ..er David.  A handsome husband who works from  home.  A girl who is the oldest and a boy who is the youngest.  Leo notices this is curiously a lot like the bosses life.  No,..of course not! And? If so, what's wrong with that? It's not bad to dream of having a handsome husband and partner and live in a beautiful home like mi se…er our boss!   Leo says yeah you're right, but he never dreamed of having kids but he would like to have his own vineyard and then his own winery, because he's learned a lot about the business.  Sonia is all over this and says when he's ready there's room for that winery in her dream too. *hint-wink-hint*  Leo giggles and tells her she's terrible!   Oh but she's delightful too Leo.

Back at the employee house Perla tells Carito that girl reminded her of herself way back.  She feels really bad.  Carito suggests they not wait on the boss and do something.  Perla doesn't want to get in trouble with Juan.  Carito says then they should go look for her, but they need to find out who her boss was.  Carito is suddenly sad because she can't stop thinking about her cousin, seeing all of those people makes her worried for him. What if he's like this? Perla says no, maybe he found someone to help him the way she and Carito did.

The date is going really well, laughter that brings tears it seems.  Leo wants to invite Sonia to a movie but what does she like? Sonia doubts they have similar tastes.  Well let's see? We might!  Sonia loves musicals. Leo doesn't like those so much he doesn't like when you get into the plot and the really good part comes and the character breaks into singing. He fast forwards but then realizes he missed some important parts because it was in the song. So frustrating.  Leo likes superheroes, especially in three D.  Sonia is meh…but well she does like some.   Mutation?!  No the one's who are tall, handsome and with muscles!  Leo doesn't agree on what makes a superhero.  Sonia says let's give this up.  We don't share the same things.  Leo says oh c'mon trust me I won't laugh.  I already told you I snore and make weird noises at night.   Sonia says ok, well…I like romantic novels..there, now you're going to ask for the check right?  Check!  Leo says no….you mean..like an Oasis in the Desert?   Sonia is gobsmacked.  She pulls out the book from her purse and Leo is literally excited.  He whips out his phone and says I have the version for smart phones, so I can read it at work without being teased!  Sonia is all tingles by now, oh Leon cub promise me you are not lying.  No!  I'm so upset about Lord Phillip's twin brother's death.  Sonia tells her Leon cub that she's going to share a little something with him;  she read in the official blog that he's not dead!  No! Yes, he's in coma!  Ay por dios! What a relief!  The two hold hands and promise it will be their secret!  Oh yes..give me your phone!  Well you can have my book.  *melt* I love these two so much. #LeoNia

Ramon and Marta sort beans and discuss their kids. Ramon is happy Tano is free now, he hadn't slept for days with the worry.   Marta is worried about Lucia, but Ramon assures her she's going to be fine. Where will she stay?  Marta tells him that Miguel arranged for her to stay with a friend of his mother's in the neighborhood. Mrs. Soledad.  Marta hopes that Brian will be able to help her,it's her last chance to have her daughter with her.  Ramon thinks he will, because of all he did for Tano.  There's nothing he won't do for Mart and Ramon can't compete with that.   Marta feels bad and asks him to not say that, but Ramon says don't worry, one has to learn to lose.

It seems Lucia fell asleep on her scintillating date .  He apologizes for waking her but she says she needs to go anyway, she has to pack for her departure tomorrow.  Miguel whines some more about her leaving and she says she would do anything to stop time right now.  Miguel says he knows time will bring her back and then he'll have a thousand nights with her.  I hope not.  More smacky kisses.   Forgive me team Miguel, but I would sure like it, if Lucia/David got as many kissing scenes as they've given this boring couple.  #I'mNotHappy

Poor Ramon, he tells Marta that even though he wished for something more between the two of them, he's happy that she's going out with a good man. She deserves it.   He knows he told her he couldn't be her friend because he felt more for her. Marta says she understands, but it hurts.  Maybe she's being selfish but she would hate to lose Ramon's friendship.  He's been a great support for her.  He feels the same way and he tells her not to worry, he'll always be there.

Leo sees Sonia home and she asks who he will take to Lucia and Miguel's wedding. Oh no wedding after all.  What? Oh no..I was so looking forward to it.  What why? Well I just was, but tell me why it's called off.  Well because they want to get married for love and not because of immigration.  Oh well, but they do love each other right?  Yeah sure.  Leo says he needs to go before she says he's out too late.   They had a great time right?  Yes.  We didn’t even drink either.   He gives her an awkward peck on the cheek and says nice shirt!   Sonia is all a flutter over it and tells herself to calm down, she only has eyes for her senor..or does she?  Hmmm.

The next morning Leo tells Lucia all about his date and Lucia is amused, she cant believe it.   She tells her brother to be careful because Sonia is the eyes and ears of the bruja Lillian.   Still she prefers Sonia to Carito.  Leo says Carito is okay she 's just under the bad influence of Perla.  Lucia says she just doesn't want anyone to hurt her little brother.  Leo says well strangely enough he and Sonia have things in common.  Like what?  Leo says things he can't tell his sister.  Lucia says she's going to miss her brother. He says he's going to miss her too, they've already been apart too long and if she cant come back, then he will go to Mexico to be with her.  Lucia says he can't leave their mother with the witch.  Marta comes down and says she doesn't want her daughter to leave.  Ramon, Tano and Miguel are sad as well and wish her good luck and to be careful. Lucia says she doesn't want them to act like there's anything different about today, so lets all just go to work until she leaves on the six o'clock bus.

Juan tells Mark he's concerned about the tight quarters for the immigrants.  Not my problem.  Juan says it could draw suspicion, they should do something for safety sake.  Mark says that's why they have Perla and Carito.  Juan says well one of the immigrant girls escaped.  Room for one more.   No, what if she rats us out.  Better not.  Finally Mark relents, okay then let's find her because he's not having some beaner ruin his biz.  What a hateful punk. #DieInAFireMark

Bobby thinks things are boring without Lucia and his father (I hear you, try 43 eps of a novela with them only kissing twice kid).  Fer asks why what's wrong with Lucia?  Bobby says she has to go back to Mexico but she promised to be back soon.  Lilian ever so supportive says that depends if they let her back in and then there's the work visa.  It's not likely kid.   Well she didn't tell me that.  Fer junior bitch, says oh yeah, I heard it's very hard to get back in ..it could take years. Lillian says oh yeah especially because she was once deported as a child.  So just give it up.  Bobby says shut it heffas Lucia told me she was coming back and that's how it will be.  Lillian tells him to forget about it and shovel up that breakfast cause she's got a busy day; people to make miserable.  After she leaves Jr bitch starts back up again about Lucia not coming back.  Bobby stays loyal to the cause. She's coming back, if not she would have told me.  Fer keeps on and Bobby doesn't back down.  Thankfully David arrives to the kids excitement!

Mark and Juan discuss the immigrant girl and checking with Mark's contacts.  Mark shares his news about Sooh-sun.  Oh yeah well good for you, but you did black mail her.  Well it's too bad Tano didn't stay in jail.  Whatever.. you can't have everything.  Juan thinks Mark could do better. Mark tells Juan to back off.  That's his Sooh-see.  Blech.

David tells the kids he's back because he missed them.  Oh we both did! Says DisGrace.  Bobby is glad because he was going to be bored without him and Luciana. Why where's Luciana?  Bobby tells him she had to go to Mexico. Why?  DisGrace says of course because she's marrying Miguel.  Bobby says no it was because she had to take care of some papers.  David understands what "papers" mean and asks why no one told him.  He gets his brood face on and stomps off.  Moody dark cloud David is back.

Miguel is his usual syrupy gush as he says goodbye to Lucia.  Mi amor, it will only be a few days. If not it doesn't matter, I will sniff out your scent and hunt you down obsessively until I find you;  then 'mi amor'  you to death until you come back.   Lucia says she promises to write him, he promises to be waiting on her messages every day.  Someone shoot me now.  Lucia tells Miguel that she's not good at farewells, the last time she was just going for batteries and look how long it took for her to return.  He doesn't want to be reminded.  It's just going to be a few day, he doesn't want her far from him.  Lucia tells him to just go to work so it will make things easier.  I agree, go to work Miguel, you human barnacle.   He tells Lucia on his  way off to not to forget his batteries.     If there were batteries in you Smuguel, I would remove them.

Juan comes back to his office to find  Sonny Crocket and Ricardo Tubb (Miami vice shout out!) waiting for him.  They want to discuss property damage. What property?  The damaged wine by amber acid. Ruh-Roh.

Lucia stops down at the vineyard where her father's ashes are, for what she must believe is the last time for a while, or possibly ever.  David comes running just in time to find out if what Bobby told him is true.  Yes, her visa has evidently expired.  Why didn't you tell me?  I tried..you were busy remember?  Well you could have told me.   Lucia has had enough and tells him to forget about it.  She's leaving not because she wants to but because she has no other option.  You can't leave!  David desperately grabs her.  *facepalm* I've seen this scene already.  Next!

Juany boy says he remembers but who called them?  Don't know and it doesn't matter we're here to investigate.  They ask Juan who would want to mess with the wine.  I don't know, I'm only the lawyer, the owner is away.   Well why didn't you call the  police.  Because the evidence disappeared and there was no way to investigate.  Officer Tubbs says wrong papa, we're the authorities, we'll decide.  Sonny Crocket  begins checking out the containers, but Juan still presses for info on who filed the complaint  because this person is wasting your time.  You don't look too worried.  Err umm.  Tubbs says we're going to look around.. is that okay wi'choo?  Well, sure.

David asks Lucia if she's already talked to Juan.  Are you sure there's nothing we can do? Yup, he's the one who told me I had to go.  Lucia explains that Juan already handed over her papers to an immigration attorney but she doesn't know when she'll hear back. She has to go back now, before her vise expires.  David is still upset that she didn't tell him.  Lucia says all you asked was about the vineyard, nothing else.  She says this is already difficult enough, so please stop pushing.

Gutierrez is discussing with someone about finding out who is smuggling in immigrants.  He then calls his pal in immigration to check on Lucia's visa, and is put on hold.  The door to his office isn't sealed well because a snake slithers in under it while closed.  Hi Brian.  He looks super excited to see her..NOT!  She's there to see if he knows about Lucia's visa issues.  He confirms he does and she warns him not to help her..or suffer the consequences.  Enough of this stupid plot.  These writers are insulting my 20-20 vision too.  Lilian is not all that and her contacts and blackmail are flimsy to further this stupid couple.

David says he's not trying to make things more difficult but there has to be something they can do.   Lucia says she didn't want to ruin his vacation and there was nothing he could do.  All he would have done is file the papers.  She's going to go for a few day and she'll be back.  David says in the mean time he'll talk with Juan. Lucia tells him she knows he's David's friend but she doesn't trust him.  David wants to know the truth, why didn't she tell him she was going.  Is it because she was leaving with Miguel?

Brian says even if wanted to help, there's nothing he could do.  Her prior deportation is on her record.   Brian says he has work to do and Lillian orders him to not to lift a finger to help that girl.   Well maybe we can have a drink sometime?   Lilian says nope, let's have dinner tomorrow night. You're going to have to earn being on my good side.  I wonder where that is, cause I sure haven't seen it yet.  She's such a gross broad.

DisGrace tells Bobby she heard about Lucia marrying Miguel.  Bobby thinks she would have told him. DisGrace says she knows how much he cares for Lucia but she's not going to confide in him everything.  So you're saying she lied?  Yup, some adults know they can fool kids but the truth always comes out.  Bobby still defends his bestie and says Lucia has always told him the truth.   Everyone will see that Lucia is going to return from Mexico because she promised him.  DisGrace says well if she promised you and you think that then okay.  Bobby says yeah and if she went to marry Miguel she would have told me, because she isn't one of those who lies.  You know, like you DisGrace-ful tia.

David tells Lucia to answer him.  Why didn't she tell him?   Lucia didn't tell him because she thought he was too busy.  David says he said goodbye because it hurts him to have her close, more to have her far away.  More now.  What do you mean?  David tells her to stop playing, he know she's going to marry Miguel.  She tells him that Miguel proposed to resolve the immigration issue.  What?  So you're going to marry him for the papers…or because you love him?    Lucia squirms, that's not the point.  Answer me.  Well Okay I did say yes, but then I thought about it and realized it's not the way to resolve things.  So you're not going to marry him? David is as relieved as I am.  No, not like this.  David thinks Miguel must be upset with the breakup and Lucia corrects him, they haven't broken up.  So you're still with him?  Whatever it doesn't matter the point is you aren't leaving here and I’m going to talk with Juan now to resolve it.

Juan meanwhile has weathered the investigative snooping.  The detectives ask who has access to the containers. Pretty much everyone, see told you it's a waste of time.  Okay we'll be in touch.  They ask about David's return and Juan says he'll be back in a few days.  They want to speak with him too and they'll be back to speak with the other employees. Sure thing, you can talk to them all .

Fer thanks DisGrace again for bailing Tano out.  She's still worried about him though because instead of looking happy he seems so sad and alone. He won't tell her what's wrong.  DisGrace says maybe it's something with Soo-sun.  You think?  Well if he would confide in me, I would listen and try to help him.  DisGrace says men are dumb to not realize all they do for them.  Fer realizes she's speaking as if she knows something about this personally, are you going through this too? Tia says she just wants to support her niece and help her get closer to him.  She just can't say anything to her father.  Fer promises.  DisGrace is obviously distracted and keeps looking toward the door for David.  She tells Fer it's not right the way Lucia keeps taking up David's time and attention, especially after he promised he was going to stay closer and spend more  time with them.

David comes into Juan's office growling for him with Lucia on his heels.  Juan finally shows up surprised to see his boss right there.  Why didn't you tell me what was going on with Luciana?  Ever notice GS/David has the same lines?  It's always "why didn't you tell me what was happening?"  Anyway Juan tells him that he and Lucia had already talked about it and they agreed there was no reason to bother you.  We'd already handled it.  Right Lucia?  Er sure.  So you filed the papers?  Juan says yes, if David wants he can show him what was sent.  David isn't satisfied, he thought it was already handled, how is they are paying her without a contract?  Juan says they deposit it to her mother's.  David doesn't like that, but Juan says every time he went to formalize it, there was something that happened.  First Lucia was leaving and then they had problems.  In other words constant silly dram-uh!  I'm with you on that Juan.   David says so what, if you had to formalize it twenty times then so be it. That's how it needed to be done.   David asks why this is happening. Juan says they didn't explain but he thinks it's because she was already deported, but he's going to do all he can. He knows how important Lucia is for David.   You better!  Lucia says they've already done all they can.  David says he will personally handle it, he's not going to allow her to leave.   Wash/Rinse/Repeat.

Delilah you successfully put lipstick on a pig and I can't tell it is a pig. Thank You

"Oh you have no idea how much fun this chick is David. Give her a rock and she'll really blow your mind"

"She's such a gross broad"

After a week of Carlos and Susan, Leon and Sonia was a treat.

Uhhh, did Miguel and Lucy, you know, San Francisco in the cellar and it was cut? One minute lip smack and next Miguel got his shirt mostly off and blanket spread.

Anyway, as suspected those Davey inspired faraway looks by Luciana last few days meant nothing.

Oh Juan, those high, highs and low, lows.

Was Luci smokin a cigarette?
No cig no nookie.

Luciana smoking a Cuban cigar ?

Delightful Delilah. Thanks.
Well, the wheels have not come off yet for NOJuan and DisGrace, but four of the lug nuts are loose / missing already.
NOJuan seems to be feeling a little 'shake' in his steering wheel?

Delilah, girl, thank you SO much! I did watch and this recap is WAY better than the episode.

Girl, you crack me up:

Oh you have no idea how much fun this chick is David. Give her a rock and she'll really blow your mind.

Bobby says shut it heffas Lucia told me she was coming back and that's how it will be.

The door to his office isn't sealed well because a snake slithers in under it while close.

That's only a few. You really make the lather/rinse/repeat bearable! Who wrote this drivel? I almost wish that Lisa had died of cancer so Gracie wouldn't have blood on her hands and just take David away since he hasn't got sense enough to tell Luciana he loves her, or to fight for her. Luciana, on the other hand, is lying to Miguel, lying to herself, lying to David. I wish she and Miguel would both take their asses back to Mexico and be done with it.

Ok, this is my usual rant. Hope some of my friends come on with more cerebral comments. These people killin' me.

OMG, Delilah, that was an AWESOME recap, I laughed so much through it because you made it such a delight to read. I'm #teamdavid too. I am not in to Smiguel at all...LOL..

I so loved this part: ..."he's surprised to discover the fun side of DisGrace that he didn't know. Oh you have no idea how much fun this chick is David. Give her a rock and she'll really blow your mind." Oh and loved your #killerdate. You hit the nail right on the head. Or the rock on the head...

Then you said this regarding Juan: "Juan comes back to his office to find Sonny Crocket and Ricardo Tubb (Miami vice shout out!) waiting for him." Well I am glad that it turned out looking more Miami Vice than a couple of homeboys from East Los Angeles! (which is not that far from me, so I know what I'm talking about)

Oh and: "Hi Brian. He looks super excited to see her..NOT! She's there to see if he knows about Lucia's visa issues. He confirms he does and she warns him not to help her..or suffer the consequences. Enough of this stupid plot." That's how I'm feeling. Why is Lilian pretending to be of the "rich and famous" when she is having to leech off of David for her room and board? Didn't she at one time tell Gracie that Fernando left her with nothing when he died? Why then does she dread going back to San Diego, isn't it because she doesn't have a luxurious place to live there?

I don't know why Ferbrat thanks Tia DisGrace for bailing out Tano. They didn't actually have to use the bail money because old slime bucket Mark dropped his charges to blackmail Susan.

Last of all, loved your #DieInAFireMark. Well hopefully he will die a painful and tortuous death when this all ends.

Delilah, that was a great read. Love how you interject wit and humor in your story telling. It is a pleasure to watch you work.
Helen

Delilah, I smiled through your entire recap.

You spun silk out of burlap.

In addition to what tofie and Lila noted, I also loved "Smuguel", "#KillerDate" and of course, "#FreeMiguel #FreeMe #LocoLucia".

I think Miguel is a very nice young man. But he is too clingy and (although likely unintentional) overbearing. Instead of murmuring sweet nothings and nibbling Luciana gently, indulging in sweet, passionate kisses, he does indeed indulge in "overly eager mauling and smacky kiss sessions". Basta.

I was so happy to see you are enjoying Veronica. If this show serves no purpose other than to showcase the amazing comedic talents and acting prowess of this delightful goddess, then I won't rue giving up an hour of my life each night to watch this otherwise uninteresting and uninvolving drivel. Sigh.

Now, I like Leon. I really do. But I couldn’t help but smile seeing him in that “Mi-Senor shirt”. I sincerely doubt that was Gabe Soto’s shirt. If so, Leon would have been drowning in it.

When David found out Luci's plight and saw her, I hoped for a longing embrace and a firework's display of kisses. No. Of course not. Can anyone think of any TN in which the lead romance has progressed at such a snail's pace? I certainly cannot.

"Ramon says don't worry, one has to learn to lose". First, it's sad that such a good man is being shunted aside for Brian. Second, here's one of the few great, likeable characters. So instead of using him, yes, let's shunt him aside so more time can be given to the perpetually whining and obnoxious Perla and Carito.

Lila, thank you for your wise (and very funny) "I almost wish that Lisa had died of cancer so Gracie wouldn't have blood on her hands and just take David away since he hasn't got sense enough to tell Luciana he loves her, or to fight for her. Luciana, on the other hand, is lying to Miguel, lying to herself, lying to David. I wish she and Miguel would both take their asses back to Mexico and be done with it". Well said amiga. I have nothing to add.

I'm starting to wonder if there is going to be anything fresh and new introduced or if it will indeed be "Wash/Rinse/Repeat".

Delilah, this was awesome! Thank you so much.

Diana

I've been watching since the beginning....I am NOW going to put a stop to this silliness! I tried, I reallly tried. Horrible hair on Liliana, Marta, Mark and Tano leave me wondering who decided on their ". Dos". Carlitos, Perla, David , Mark, Soosan, Gutierrez and Kucians...yawn.
Sonia, Leon, Grsciela Ramon and Juan are the only good characters....Oh I forgot to mention the clingy Miquel and wishywadhy Lucia are the worst. Writers take lessons from stellar writers from ECDLP....class novela.

Diana, amiga, one good quote deserves another:

When David found out Luci's plight and saw her, I hoped for a longing embrace and a firework's display of kisses. No. Of course not. Can anyone think of any TN in which the lead romance has progressed at such a snail's pace? I certainly cannot.

*Sigh* I've never seen anything like this! Why didn't they make Gracie and David the leads, craft a different story and let Miguel and Luciana be the second tier romance. I've already dumped one novela, I'm going to hang with this one but they sure aren't making it easy.

I also loved Leon and Sonia's discovery that they both love romance novels. I Googled it and there IS a book called An Oasis in the Desert! Too funny! Sonia is a kinky nerd but I find her and Leo's relationship more interesting than the story of the stomping, pouting, self-centered Luci and spineless, anencephalic Dave!

Thank you Delilah! LOL, I'm completely the opposite of you when it comes to Miguel but I get where you're coming from. I am looking forward to him hopefully dumping Luci for Erika one of these days. The dumping will be the other way around most likely but that's fine, he'll be better off.

Lila, I am enjoying Leon and Sonia too and you pretty much summarized in your last line why I do not enjoy Luci and David. Although I do think they're well suited to each other with their stomping around and grumpiness.

Last night I was saying to my husband that people are enjoying El Color de la Pasion because it is interesting and fast-paced and well acted/written. And people like me keep watching Vino el Amor because it is dumb and fun to make fun of.

dy, I have this habit of becoming comatose after I eat dinner so I've never done well with a 10 o'clock show but seems I've missed quite a few good ones! The Leo/Sonia storyline is kind of a surprise, like a little joke written into the story but I don't think these writers are smart enough to do that. It's probably engaging because of the actress who plays Sonia. There is more fire and passion in a few of her gazes, sighs and sultry intakes of breath than Dave and Luci have shown in the whole story.

Thanks, Delilah.

Dy77 ...it appears that you and I are sitting alone at Miguel's table here on the patio. Yikes...I had no idea how much people hated him.

Leo and Sonia are definitely the comic relief. It is cute that they both enjoy romantic novels. I hope that we get to see some role playing. Maybe Sonia will buy Leo the lion a puffysleeved shirt because I don't think that Dave has any of those in his closet.

Lila, years ago our blogmom Jane pointed out to me that the really bad telenovelas are the most fun because of the snatk that they inspire. I think that she was right!

For all of you who are enjoying the Sonia/León relationship:

I've been watching Vino since it started it Mexico and what I can tell you is that these two characters are absoloute scene-stealers!! Verónica Jaspeado is a real goddess and I think José Eduardo Derbez has a bright future in acting! They are both wonderful, and even if you like nothing else in this TN, it's worth sticking with it for their storyline alone!

Welcome, Lisa! Thanks! Leo started out slow and nondescript but his attraction to that unlit dynamite that is Sonia is a real joy!

Susanlynn, I don't hate Miguel, I just feel betrayed. He's not the galan and he gets to slurp all over Luciana and we only got teased with two kisses between the so-called leads! We been robbed, I tell ya! I felt really sorry for Miguel when Luci told him she wasn't going to marry him. . .yet. You could see is heart drop right through the floor but he is hopeful and persistent. I think Miguel has never been off the vineyard and nurtured that flame he held for Luci as a little boy through the years of their separation and maybe has even saved himself for her!

Now, I don't hate Luci either but she is BIG-TIME playing with Miguel, holding out for David to do something definitive about. . . .whatever it is he's feeling. Miguel deserves someone who REALLY loves him, not some one who cares for him. He's never looked beyond the idealized object of his puppy love and he pressed Luci immediately upon her return to fulfill his long held dreams. BUT, I saw that spark between him and Erika, there was more than interest when he had that brief face-off with her over his Vino el Amor. I want Erika to come back and give Luci some competition and show Miguel how a woman acts when she's REALLY into a man.

So, I'm at Dave's table but I won't throw rocks at y'all! (Watch out for DisGracie's table, though! ;D )

Just thought about Carito. I think she REALLY loves Miguel but she's had the misfortune of falling under the influence of silly Perla. If they do go off to look for that girl they feel sorry for, I commend them for their concern but it's dangerous: their butts are going to get into BIG trouble which should pull down Juan and Mark. Somehow it seems to early for that. But whether Carito ends up in the hooze-gow for her role in Juan's dirty business or not, Miguel sees Carito as more of a little sister and she has ZERO chance with him.

C'mon, Erika, do like Calgon and take Miguel awaaaaay!

I'm spending too much time performing mental calisthenics in an attempt to make this show better. It's a shame cause I like the story line, most of the actors and characters but most of the interactions seem forced, thus unlikely.

Un camino hacia el destino was a light show and I was highly entertained so it can be done. Yo No, dark and heavy, had two actors in this once including the galan and both are capable of stellar performances but not here. However, it hasn't sunk to La Gata or Sueño de amor stupid, YET.

The main couple is Miguel and Luciana but I bought the promotional bait and switch. I get David having the hots for Luciana but that's it. She plays naive, torments him and when David hugs her there's a creepy uncle vibe.

During Miguel's first brush with Erika he acted normal but interested so I think he (character and actor) is capable of something other than predatory lust.

Ramon is ruined by remaining in Marta's orbit.

The actors Kimberly Dos Ramos (Graciela), Christian de la Campa (Juan) and Emilio Beltrán (Bobby) have done the most with what was given them.

I'm entertained by Perla and Carito, glad we got them. Actually, Irina Baeva should be glad too. The most animated believable work she's done is opposite them.

When David finds out that one of his dress shirts is missing, he's likely to get pissed off at Leon.

Delilah--You leave me short of breath from laughing and can hardly see through the tears it engendered. What a romp. Yes, it's time WE get some relief from this snail-paced telenovela with some good ole' fashioned snark. Your are a Master at this.

One thing I don't understand about Juan, the illegals and the girl that left (did she just disappear, or is escaped too strong a word). Is it too much for me to wonder if all these people go out to work and then come back to this enclosure at night? They all look like recien llegados, not folks who have been there for awhile. So the girl disappeared because she had a problem with her boss? Why would they know that if they've been shut in there.

I guess if they are all illegal, were placed in jobs but have no place to go, I guess they would return to what looks like a converted truck trailer. But no food, water or medicine? C'mon, give me another break. Either give us the straight story or not, but don't give us such a weak storyline to hang on to.

What did Juan do with the earlier bunch?

tofie--I'm with you. I'm spending entirely too much time trying to make sense out of the story. Basta ya! When Luci and David finally get together it will all be an anti-climax!

Lila..Very interesting analysis of these characters. I think that you are correct about MIguel and his lifelong crush on Luci. The girl of his dreams since he was a teen. That first love lives with us throughout our lives. I feel sorry for Miguel..All that love and devotion and LUci is not returning the same but also not letting him go. Fish or cut bait, girl. Love me or leave me.

OT..Lila, if you have the Starz channel, They are having an all day OUtlander marathon today.

Lisa..Thanks for the heads up on the LEo\Sonia storyline. I want to see some role-playing of that romance novel !!! Heaven knows that we have not had much romance in this novela so far.

Anita---The girl who is "Missing" is not missing at all, she is just not there anymore.

She is turning tricks for Coyote now.
Duh....they made a point of mentioning she was young....and pretty....big eyes....long hair.... Hello.

Tofie..Ahh, LA Gata..The show that shall not be named...Love in the dump.. and sliding down the hill on cardboard...Wheeeeeee. very weird show.

Tofie...Creepy Uncle Dave...Ew. ...That.

I think that the chemistry between the main characters has been off since the beginning of this show. Maybe the casting is off. What is the best chemistry you have seen in telenovelas?

Best ever-- Camila and D'Andres in Amor Bravio.

Susanlynn, I get what you're saying... Neither Luciana & Miguel nor Susan & Tano are very interesting couples.

Regarding Sonia and her lion cub (I think it's hilarious she calls him that)... I don't want to give you spoilers but there are many beautiful scenes between them in the next episodes!

Irina (LUcia) played a vixen you could love to hate in PYP. She really brought that nasty, spoiled girl in life. Perhaps her niche will be the bad girl. She just seems blah to me in this show. Maybe they should have cast her as DisGracie and the girl playing DisGracie as LUci. I can visualize Irina beaning a rival with a rock. Yes,I can definitely see her doing that with great gusto.

Gab Soto does not do it for me. I still remember him as ALonSLOW in Querida Enimiga...The galan who lost the leading lady to the hot chef. I like to see a galan who is a lIttle more animated and proactive.

And enough of those bedroom scenes of crabby, bitter Lilian and gutless GUt. I do not want to see anymore of that.

Tofie. . ."weird uncle vibe." Now I can't unsee that and it's totally their fault for not following up on those first kisses with more! Not to mention Luci acts like she's David's rebellious child instead of a potential love interest!

Anon at 1:46. . .Big DUH for me too! I think you're right!

Ah, TSTSNBN! I was on that recap team and that stupid pile of trash was the best fun I've had recapping EVA! It was a total blast! It was sooo stooopid, there was nothing to do but PAR-TAY! Tofie's lists added immensely to the fun and the whole patio was a riot!

Susanlynn. . . thanks for the heads up on Outlander! I hope it will continue to be available on Starz for a while. I always like to read the book first!

Great question: Best ever chemistry -- I liked Letty and Fer in La Fea; Camila and Ricardo in Pasión; Damián and Marina in La Tempestad and Juan "del Diablo and Monica in Corazon Salvage 1993! There may be others!

Lila...I agree with the chemistry of the couples in both Pasion and La Temp, but I did not see the other two novelas.

I liked the chemistry between Luis and Hippolita in my first ever venture into the wonderful world of telenovelas ALborada and my second Amor Real (Manuel and Matilde).

Most chemistry, hmmmm. How about a couple that wowed me.

Maite Perroni as Lechita & Arath de la Torre as Roberto in Antes muerta que Lichita. But only early in their budding romance. There was something beautiful in Lichita's awkward naivete and the scoundrel Roberto falling for her.

Flavio Medina as the twisted Daniel and Adriana Louvier as Maria Delores in Yo no creo en los hombres. He was a monster not the galan but there was a lot of chemistry between them before she realized he was trying to destroy her and then raped her. It was sick but the two of them together left a mark on me.

Delilah, that was so funny. I really enjoyed it.

The plot hasn't moved since this has started. It's difficult to know if I've seen the episode before, the same stuff happens in every one.

This show has so many characters who have absolutely can not sense if the other person is into them or not. Miguel, she's clearly not as into you as you are to her.
Ramon, same with Marta
Carita, Miguel doesn't look twice at you
Fernanda, Tano isn't interested
Lilian, if you have to bribe a guy to stay away from someone he likes better, he's not going to suddenly prefer you
Cesar, Graciela hasn't ever giving you any signals that she's into you

And for the opposite
David, really? You have no idea that Graciela wants to rip your clothes off? She can't keep her hands off of you
Miguel, Carita has actually told you she wants you, why haven't you set her straight?
Tano, tell Fer that she's not ever going to be your girlfriend.

Thanks, Delilah. I totally agree with you, the Luci/Mig scenes are getting really frustrating.

Leo perfectly explained why I don't like musicals!

I'm ready for something to happen.

Hola patio pals! Thank you all soooo much for stopping by and giving such nice feedback. This is my second recap for this Tn and yes, it's sort of lousy, but provides such good material to snark on. I had fun and I'm so glad you did too!

I want to clarify that I too do not hate Smuguel, he just really grates my nerves because he's too eager, too touchy feelly and just plain all around too possessive. I don't like a guy that comes on so strong, he makes it almost impossible for you to tell him it's not gonna happen because he's pretty much telling you how it's going to be. I know Lucia hasn't helped because she hasn't been totally honest that she doesn't love him that way. Still every time Miguel opens his mouth, it's we ARE going to be together. We ARE going to get married, we ARE..we ARE. He has had this all figured out since the beginning.

As for Lucia, I don't hate her either. I think she has a lot of growing up to do though. She's very inexperienced with men and it seems has lead a very sheltered life. I think she has been very confused on what is real love. Is it this warm secure relationship she has with Miguel? Or is it this stirring thing she has with David? I think once David really really lets go with her and shows her how to be loved by a man who has already lived (no offense to Miguel) she will understand. David has been married, he has learned the nuances of women, marital partnerships and being secure in a 'couple'. I think Miguel has an idea of who he wants Lucia to be and not who she really is. That doesn't necessarily mean I think David is Lucia's forever. I think a young woman like her should get out and live but this is a tn and that's not likely. I just don't see Miguel as her forever. He needs to live a little more too.

DisGrace would be great for David in my opinion if she weren't a cold blooded murderer. She's smart, beautiful and savvy about life. What a pity.

In my perfect world, Sonia gets a bit of a little makeover and catches Mi Senor's attention and he slowly courts her and brings all of her pent up passion and dreams to life! She finally gets her man, the house and the kids she wanted.

Leon should Google Sonia, and up at the top click 'images'. He would drop his laptop on the floor on the way to the gym to start pumping iron.

Gracias, Delilah. Late to the party because I was partying the last two nights (not in the way of novelas, however). My favies:

Oh you have no idea how much fun this chick is David. Give her a rock and she'll really blow your mind.

Bobby thinks things are boring without Lucia and his father (I hear you, try 43 eps of a novela with them only kissing twice kid).

Juan comes back to his office to find  Sonny Crocket and Ricardo Tubb (Miami vice shout out!) waiting for him.

The door to [Brian's] office isn't sealed well because a snake slithers in under it while closed.  Hi Brian.  He looks super excited to see her..NOT!

You're going to have to earn being on my good side.  I wonder where that is, cause I sure haven't seen it yet.

The only movement we have is the police investigation of the ruined wine. At least we have some detectives who look and sound authentic.

One new point: How on earth does Luciana's deportation matter when she was a child at the time? She was a child and was deported with her father! From a legal perspective there was no wrongdoing on her part. Even her resistance can't be held against her.

I hope tomorrow's episode reveals the contents of that box. I'm sure it's nothing good coming from DisGracie.

Lisa, welcome to our little gabfest. Can you tell us how the ratings are in Mexico?

One thing that bugs me in the title credits is the failure to show David and Luciana kissing for real. That isn't a good sign.

Thanks, Delilah. Great job. I love the Gracie and a rock line too.

I missed this episode, but I'll have to check out Sonia and Leon's date. Sounds like a hoot.

At this point, I don't care who Luciana winds up with. I'm tired of her endless goodbye tours.

Forgot to mention this, Tofie, but nothing was cut from the scene of Miguel and Luciana. He may have shed the jacket and opened the shirt but she still had the dress on and neither's hair was messed up. As far as we know Luciana is still a virgin.

UA: Erika needs to take Miguel far away from the drama NOW!

The wedding gift box...My guess is a set of sheets. Subtle reminder to DAve.

Thank you for that delightfully snarky recap, Delilah. And you're right--Miguel really is a human barnacle, if a basically well-meaning one. OTOH, we've got a fair number of barnacles on this show: Miguel, Graciela, Fernanda (WRT Tano and David), Perla, and the newly somewhat-de-grunged-so-now-he's-a-lounge-lizard (o hai) Mark.

Perla finally showing a little itty bitty kernel of humanity called a heart for the illegal immigrants, particularly the missing girl, was welcome. I'm still not sure if it means anything karma-wise, but for two scenes Perla wasn't a raging bitch and it was nice.

This recap did beautifully highlight the one ongoing PITA about this show's A-story--it's stuck in a loop. Somebody says or does something that makes David freak out with regard to Luciana, he runs to her, they have the same damn conversation over and over with the occasional deviation to "Why didn't someone tell me X was happening?" It's almost as repetitive as The Bold and the Beautiful for us English-language soapheads (but still leagues behind the legendarily circular Passions), and just as annoying. At this point I'm not even counting Lilian in the A-story any more; she's largely off dealing with Gutierrez, occasionally Juan, and her the-bitch-must-die hatred of Marta Ingalls (I have no idea who decided to frump up Cynthia Klitbo for this show, but it's strangely working for me--she just needs more plaid).

And now I kinda need to rewatch this episode just to see if the book Leon and Sonia cutely bonded over is indeed the actual novel An Oasis in the Desert.

Bill.."she just needs more plaid." Ha

Delilah, Sonia is indeed a very passionate woman. Behind her apparent strictness and solemnity hides a tiger ready to attack *wink* She's by far my favorite female character in the story.

Urban, this TN is doing well in Mexico, for this reason the company's executives have decided to add about 20 more episodes to it. So instead of finishing in mid-January, as it was originally planned, we will see the "Gran Final" on February 19.

Thanks for the update, Lisa. So that means it gets 140-odd episodes, and that puts its ending up here in June or July...that said, I definitely have to wonder what, ahem, fun we get to look forward to with the extension.

Extended? Well, hopefully that means it does get more eventful.

Gracias, Lisa. I don't get it.

This novela demonstrates that the writers have a lot to learn about the US. I hope that people in Mexico know that.

Bill, yeah, it's going to have 141 episodes.

Delilah you are delightful. You have taken an otherwise boring episode and made it delightfully funny. like someone said further up, you took a pig and put lipstick on it and now we can't tell it's a pig, it's a funny pig. And these people really need to have some fun on this show. Why don't David actually take a trip to the immigrations office and asked to see the papers that was filed that Juan was supposed to have filed months ago because he clearly lied he never did.
Lucy and Miguel keep telling David that they don't trust nojuan, why does he trust him because their friends? they were friends in college shouldn't some bells and whistles go off especially when it came to that land that his dad offed himself over. And didn't it cross David's mind that maybe somewhere in the back of juan's brain that he's angry because his daddy killed himself over a deal that went sour because of David? He's not
Thinking at all.
You right about lil, she ain't all that, or nothing else. I can't see MartA forgiving the gut-man for what he did. Maybe after some years pass. It could be a time lapse, he's gotten a permotion to police commissioner or
Something.Then maybe...but then theres
Ramon. But I can't see her with him as
Nice as he is, like mig and Lucy no heat.

Bill C: Just because Perla is showing a little bit of humanity doesn't matter because she IS going to get what's coming to her when Karma strikes!

It was worth the whole recap for "Human Barnacle" especially if you have ever scraped a few off fiberglass.
